West Coast Silent Retreat a Powerful Experience
Our second silent retreat of this year, held at Joshua Tree Retreat Center, October 3-7, was a powerful, magical experience for the 50 people who joined together in sacred silence.
The land at Joshua Tree, with sweeping desert vistas, mountains and centuries-old Joshua trees, and the silent and welcoming retreat center was a lovely combination that supported the experience of the power of silence for spiritual renewal and personal expansion. We offer a special thank you to Debbi Brown for her soulful, efficient organizing and loving service.
Zion Park Winter Retreat
December 5-8
We are pleased to invite you to join us for our sixth annual and ever-popular winter retreat at Zion National Park, December 5-8, 2008.
This retreat--led by Bill Bauman and assisted by Blackfeet elder White Feather Robinson--allows you sacred time with your inspiring spirit, with Nature's towering rock sculptures, and with other soulful friends. Registration for the Zion retreat is open and there are spaces available.

Welcome to our October Newsletter!
Greetings! We are delighted to connect with you this month and to share the latest news from our beautiful CSL community. We are so grateful that you are in our lives and feel genuinely blessed to be able to serve you, our sweet community.
This month we are excited to announce a new program, entitled "Immersion in Mysticism," that we are offering for you in 2009. Also, we are pleased to announce that we have now created additional space for the Sacred Sites of Buddhism journey that Bill is leading in January 2009. In addition, we happily offer you a beautiful 2009 calendar lovingly created by Donna. Finally, we have a new teleconference opportunity for anyone who has participted in any of the mentoring programs. |

Immersion in Mysticism
"Living the Mystery and Magic of the Mystical"
We are thrilled to offer you a new and innovative program, "Immersion in Mysticism"--created for those of you who feel called to embrace your mystical heart. This program is designed for persons whose nature is more mystical, being-based or oneness-oriented. It will provide an opportunity to play in life's pure essence and unifying light; to luxuriate in life's bigger dimensional mystery and to drink life's endless blessings from its sparkling glass of peace and simplicity.
We will meet for three 3-day weekends (Saturday - Monday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) at the Abbey Inn Conference Center in St. George, Utah. The dates are May 30-June 1, August 1-3, and November 7-9, 2009.

Sacred Sites of Buddhism Trip

We are thrilled with the enthusiastic response to our wonder-filled Sacred Sites Journey to Thailand and Cambodia ... and have just learned that the tour company is able to accommodate additional participants. Those on our waiting list are now able to join us, and we invite you to be with us if you feel soulfully called to this sacred experience.
Led and facilitated by Bill Bauman, the trip will feature the sacred Buddhist Spirit and Temples of Thailand and Cambodia, January 28-February 10, 2009. While sitting in the history-rich temples and inspiring Buddhist sites of the Far East, you will experience the powerful spirit of the Buddha awakening "the Buddha within" you.

CSL Trainer/Mentor Offering
in Asheville, North Carolina
Denny Unger, a CSL certified Trainer/Mentor, will be offering a special event in Asheville, North Carolina, at the home of Bonnie and Chris Allen, the weekend of November 7-8, 2008.
On Friday, November 7, from 7:30-9:30 PM, Denny willl lead a group session entitled "Experience the Simple Truth." One-hour personal sessions with Denny will be available on Saturday, Nov. 8. The weekend will be dedicated to devotion to truth, silence, Divine intervention and the sharing of wisdom, love and laughter.

Quarterly Teleconference for all Mentoring Participants
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The "Friends of CSL" Mentoring teleconference series--recently inspired by Marian Cohn--evolved from a desire expressed by Mentoring Reunion participants to connect with one another more frequently. These phone connections are independent of other CSL events. They are led by and for Mentoring program graduates and participants.
The inaugural call was open to those who attended the March '08 Mentoring Graduates' Reunion and was masterfully led by Marian Cohn and Amanda Miller. The teleconference was so well received that we decided to open these calls to all graduates of and current participants in any CSL Mentoring program.
From now on, we will hold TWO quarterly teleconference calls, to better accommodate our CSL community across multiple time zones.

BASIC STRUCTURE OF OUR TELECONFERENCE:
The teleconference is inspired by the structure Bill uses for his monthly teleconference. Each teleconference will be led by two volunteers, and generally follows the format outlined below.
·Welcome and opening meditation (5 mins.)
·Individual 10-second introductions (going alphabetically by last name)
·Soul-inspired sharing/discussion (50-60 mins.)
·Closing remarks and meditation (5-7 mins.)
The structure is meant to facilitate the effortless sharing, play and "genius" that we experience from living soulfully. The discussion itself may range from the deeply personal to the infinitely cosmic. Soul will provide inspiration for the content. The following list is offered to spark your imagination in anticipation of the call:
1) Share a poem, a recent moment of grace or realization, an insight, learning or achievement, a poignant experience (happy or not), or an illuminating book, movie or travel experience.
2) Pose a THEME such as: Love ... Gratitude ... Freedom ... Fear ... Doubt ... Trust ... Letting Go.
3) Invite others' insight and inspiration regarding personal challenges such as:
Relationships ... Family ... Career ... Health ... Time Management ... Growth
4) Tell a great joke, or lead us in a chorus of an aria or old rock-n-roll song--we believe there are countless ways to experience the depth--and play--of our collective SELF. We look forward to connecting with all of you on October 21st or 22nd and future teleconference gatherings!
