LCCC
Schedule of Events
 Mantras 7:00 a.m., Monday - Saturday
A practice group for the chanting of mantras in Irdin. This work comes through the teachings of Jose Trigueirinho. Irdin is a sacred language, not for conversation. Its sounds have the power to help shape the etheric structure needed for the action of the evolutionary energies that work in the cosmos. The practice carries with it the qualities of devotion, silence and service.
Morning Meditation 8:30 a.m., Monday - Friday
Aquarian Rosary 9:00 a.m., Saturday Sophia's Nest

Greetings,
Our hearts are happy as Sunday June 3rd, we celebrate 31 years moving ourselves and the collective from past to present to future. Please join us in person or in your thoughts and prayers this week while Light of Christ Community Church sends out love and blessings to all as we envision the goodness that lies ahead. Also on this first Sunday is Christ's Festival of Humanity, just preceding the Gemini Full Moon celebration.
The following Sunday, we explore how the "sparks" that were ignited at Pentecost allow us to remain alive and awakened to our inner Divine Feminine call. Next, Father's Day brings reflection on fatherhood in all its forms.
June 20th marks Summer Solstice as we spend a short summer's night dreaming, perhaps about the following Sunday's topic of our soul freely soaring "in God's Temple of Beauty."
All our Sundays punctuate a month of energizing Sancta Sophia events:
30 -- "Intuitive Spiritual Arts Day" - open to the public
July: 2-6 -- an in-depth study of the "Making of a Mystic" 16-20 -- "Build a Lighted House: the World of Energy and Force" 20-22 -- William Meader workshop: "Revelation: Holding the Mind Steady in the Light" 23-27 -- "Intermediate Astrology II" (the second class in a series)
LCCC owes a debt of gratitude to Amy Upperman who has produced this Light Bearer and the e-newsletters for the Board of Trustees and Sancta Sophia for many years with great creativity and enduring patience. We appreciate her skill as well as her devotion to helping us communicate with you.
Everyone is invited to come and learn, love, grow and play in Sparrow Hawk Village this summer!

Blessings, All the ministers at Light of Christ Community Church

Hat Sunday/LCCC 31st Anniversary/Trinity Sunday Christ's Festival of Humanity Celebration Full Moon of Gemini/Lunar Eclipse
"Celebrate!"
Pastor Retha Banez & Rev. Thia McGinnis
We will gather with joy in our hearts as we celebrate the 31st anniversary of LCCC, traditionally known as "Hat Sunday." Join in the fun by participating in our hat contest. Five winners will receive a gift certificate from Sophia's Nest in the following categories: Most Glamorous Hat, Funniest/Most Outrageous Hat, Best Floral Hat, Most Creative Hat, Best 31st Anniversary Hat. We will also celebrate the third of the three major festivals of the year, The Festival of Humanity, also known as The Festival of the Christ, The Festival of Goodwill, and World Invocation Day, which will occur on June 4 at 6:13 a.m. CDT. Lucis Trust tells us, "The Festival of the Christ follows one month after Wesak at the time of the full moon of Gemini. It has the keynote of 'humanity, aspiring to God' and blending many different spiritual approaches in one united act of invocation."

Parrish-Harra since 2005 and is an aspirant in the Malabar Rite of the Liberal Catholic tradition as well as a candidate of the Unitarian Universalist tradition. Father's Day Sunday
"Love Is Fire & I Am Wood"
Rev. Mark Throckmorton & Friends
My father recently introduced me to a man I never met: his father. Grandpa Art died when my father was a sophomore in high school, and I heard very little about him over the years. When Dad recently discovered a scrapbook his late mother had kept, I had the chance to sit down and learn about my grandfather, especially his passion for his work, family, and community. That passion made his life both significant and short, reminding me of the Rumi quote that is the sermon title for a reflection on fatherhood.

"Freely Soaring"
Rev. Bonita Plymale
As we progress on the spiritual path, we are asked to put down some of the things we are carrying in our lives. We must free our hands to aid the work of the Christ. We often say: "my hands are full" or "my hands are tied." What burdens might we relinquish to be free to take up the joyous purpose of God's Plan? In the words of St. Theresa of Avila, "Christ has no body now but ours, No hands, no feet on earth, but ours." What kinds of distractions might we exchange for greater personal development?

CONNECT GROUPS

Taking off for the Summer
Prayer Shawl Group, First Thursday,
Helena Messenger's Home, 6:00 p.m.
For comfort, the Prayer Shawl Group still sponsored by LCCC, has decided to hold their monthly gathering in Helena Messenger's home at a new time. The group meets to knit and crochet shawls and lap blankets with prayers, love and good wishes for those who would benefit from these comforting items.
Once a year on Thanksgiving Sunday, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, they bring these items to church to bless them in a special ritual during the church service. As their service work, the shawls and lap blankets are then delivered to nursing homes, oncology units and other locations in need.
All are welcome to join them, including beginners and advanced needle workers. They are interested in teaching those who wish to learn to crochet or knit.

The Celestial Hierarchy of Gemini
 | Gemini by Johfra |
The Celestial Hierarchy of Gemini rules from May 20 to June 20. Also known as the Lords of Mercury, and the Seraphim, the grandeur and power of this hierarchy surpasses all description. The Mercurian influence is designed to explore duality with the intent of participating in the reconciliation of spirit and matter. When initiates vibrate to the presence of these mighty Seraphim, they begin to understand the interaction between masculine and feminine, yin and yang, that animates everything from atom to planet. Gemini holds the cosmic pattern of the perfect androgyny, with masculine and feminine potencies equal -- the goal of initiates of the greater Christ mysteries.
At the Festival of Humanity, occurring in the period empowered by the hierarchy of Gemini, the Lords of Mercury help those who strive for holiness become aware of the mysterious hidden potential of unconditional love we call the Christ-Within. They lead us to the initiatory work of aligning our mind to Higher Mind. Such an opportunity also challenges us to bring the two parts of self -- personality and soul -- into a co-working relationship. This uplifting impulse inspires aspirants to make themselves more and more open to subtle impressions and in turn draws the brain, the mind, and the intuition into attunement to the Cloud of Knowable Things.
