Greetings Members and Friends,

As the 2012 year moves forward into the second quarter, there is much happening around the Village and throughout the Light of Christ organization. The local church has been celebrating its reemergence as a local community church for Sparrow Hawk Village. Pastor Banez has introduced a monthly community Sunday when a villager, who is not necessarily a minister, presents the message. There are also visitors attending regularly from the surrounding area.
Sancta Sophia has begun the year with much success in growing the online school, increasing attendance in classes, and the introduction of some exceptional teachers of esoteric studies.
Sophia's Nest continues to transform into an appealing and charismatic metaphysical boutique, with Isaac Porter always on the search for just the right books and gifts to meet the eclectic needs of all its visitors. Please take some time to peruse the
online bookstore or call Issac for a special order.
Light of Christ continues its land development effort in Sparrow Hawk Village, with the assistance of Rusty Gillette, and is currently working with the Calling Humanity group in order for them to create a sacred private retreat center on the mountain. This is an opportunity for both organizations to work collaboratively in the best interest of this sacred mountain, the people who live here, and those who visit. The village is bustling with activity, as it always is.
The Board of Trustees for LCCC is currently working on a plan of restructuring the administrative layer of the organization's structure. Specifically, the CEO role will be converted to an
Executive Director position. These changes will provide new opportunities for further development while continuing the collaborative group effort at this level. Rev. Cynthia (Thia) McGinnis has tendered her resignation as Chief Executive Officer for Light of Christ effective May 31. We wish her well with the next chapter of her life and hold in deep gratitude the integrity and conscientious co-creative effort with which she served our organization. Please see her message below.
Another opportunity at LCCC is a Wellness Center leadership role. The Wellness Center is a prized aspect of LCCC, providing a space to practice and share the teachings as they relate to holistic healing. The time has come for the Wellness Center to once again become alive daily and to serve the health and wellness needs of students, villagers, guests and the surrounding area. The Director will be responsible for bringing together a team of skilled and dedicated healers and for expanding the health and wellness program to become an exceptional service to all in need. There is also an employment opportunity posting on the SSS website for the
Wellness Center Director position.
These two roles are essential in building the future of LCCC/SSS. The past two years have been focused on encouraging and developing the potential of Sancta Sophia. Now the time has come to also cultivate the innate value of all areas of service encompassed by the association of Light Workers we call Light of Christ Community Church.
Finally, we encourage making your plans early for the Annual Homecoming. Gita Saraydarian, daughter of Torkom Saraydarian, has agreed to be the keynote speaker. We are very excited to bring to the conference someone who is known to be an inspiring speaker and who was raised in the energy of the Ancient Wisdom.
We continue to be grateful for your support, both financially and in prayer. LCCC/SSS is on the threshold of a new frontier of expanding its reach to share the Teachings. It is the work and support of all of us that makes that a reality.
In gratitude and Blessings,
The Board of Trustees
Rev. McGinnis' message to the membership:

Greetings Fellow Light Workers: The time has come for me to move on to my next adventure. I have lived in Sparrow Hawk Village and worked in some capacity for LCCC for seven years. It's been a transformational seven year cycle for me and I am grateful.
For more than two years during this transitional period in the life of LCCC/SSS, the work has been challenging and bittersweet. I have watched this organization take hold of the group work concept and be committed to moving forward. All of us hold the Love and Commitment necessary to create and sustain the next 30 years at LCCC. Our continued support of LCCC/SSS is central in shaping and building its future upon the rich and grounded foundation of its past. I am grateful to have served on Sparrow Hawk Mountain, doing what was mine to do, by contributing to the organization's present and its future.
I will be moving to Asheville, NC sometime this summer to continue my spiritual work and where my life will be graced with the many connected LCCC/SSS Light Workers. The journey continues! As you might have noticed, I am taking along a new vibration for my name. I'd like to introduce you to Thia. Some say I just got rid of the sin...and I'm hopeful that will not remove all the "FUN" in life.
