A practice group for the chanting of mantras in Irdin. This work comes through the teachings of Jose Trigueirinho. Irdin is a sacred language, not for conversation. Its sounds have the power to help shape the etheric structure needed for the action of the evolutionary energies that work in the cosmos. The practice carries with it the qualities of devotion, silence and service.

Easter lily and cross

To enhance your Lenten journey, we invite you to the LCCC Listening page to experience our
Lenten Season Meditation Series: 6-weeks of reflections for each of our Lenten themes. Several of our ministers offered thoughts on the theme every week: a poem or special reading, an original song written and performed by our music minister, and a guided meditation. Each recording is about 15 minutes long. May the beauty of the season be enhanced through the sharing of our minds and hearts as we contemplate the fiery mysteries of Easter.

Greetings,

In a month packed with celebrations of spiritual energies, we welcome everyone to Light of Christ Community Church. Please see the schedule on the left and the detailed information below.

On Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, we rejoice in the passion and triumph of the Risen Christ as energy floods deep into the earth. In the middle of the month, we pause and consider the next step on our path, just as the disciples did.

Our village gardeners are lovingly preparing the soil in their plots at the community garden. They are nurturing tiny seedlings that eventually will produce organic lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, sweet potatoes, and squash to be sold at our own Farmers' Market in the community building on Saturday mornings. The Community Association of Sparrow Hawk Village explains that working toward a sustainable future means we must take into consideration the consequences of our actions today.

Sunday, April 22, is our Earth Day Celebration. Even the end of April continues to honor strong earth energies as we align with the esoteric aspects of Beltane.

Mid April classes at Sancta Sophia:

Esoteric Christianity with Rev. Carol E. Parrish and Rev. Jessie Garnee
Mysticism and the Course in Miracles with Jon Mundy

Mid May classes at Sancta Sophia:

Intro to the Rays through the Lens of Personality with Margaret Stephens.

If you are unable to join us, please listen to the special Meditation series online. We had fun making them for you! (see top of page).

Blessings,
All the ministers at Light of Christ Community Church

Palm Sunday/Sixth Sunday in Lent

"Live With Passion - Know Thyself"

Rev. Thia McGinnis

Cindy McGinnisAnother name for Palm Sunday is Passion Sunday, and on this day we will explore living with Passion and how that defines us and the groups in which we work, play, live and love. It's All About Love! Bring your Passion and your heart -- we just might find out how much we have to offer the world.

Easter Sunday Service

"He Is Risen!"

Pastor Retha Banez & Rev. Steven Chase

Rev. Retha BanezSteven ChaseAll are invited to join us on this joyous Sunday as we celebrate the risen Christ and remember the words triumphantly intoned, "I am the resurrection and the life." Corinne Heline tell us in Mystery of the Christos that "at the time of His Resurrection He gave to mankind the most glorious of all Easter messages; the demonstrable fact that death is but transition and will eventually have no part in man's planetary experiences. Joyously did He proclaim for all the world that life is eternal and love immortal." Let us gather in our beautiful sanctuary and celebrate the Good News!

"Now What?"

Rev. Peg Willson

Peg Willson

"Now What?" speaks to the situation the disciples were in after Christ's Resurrection. They asked themselves, "What do we do now?" Similarly, we often ask ourselves the same question when our lives reach a point of discombobulation. "Now What?"

Earth Day Sunday

"For the Beauty of the Earth"

Pastor Retha Banez & Rev. Mary Jane Dicus

Pastor Retha BanezMary Jane DicusPsalm 24 states that "the Earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it."  We are called by our devotion to God and our love for God's creation to protect it. This year's Earth Day theme is Mobilize the Earth™, which is designed to provide people of all nationalities and backgrounds the opportunity to voice their appreciation for the planet and unite their voices in a call for a sustainable future. On this Sunday, we will pledge our commitment to care for the Earth and honor the Mother through a special ritual, which includes drumming, singing, and planting bushes or trees. Bring your drum and join us in the celebration.

"Hooray, Hooray...It's Almost the First of May!"

 Rev. Tom Simota

Tom SimotaMay Day, also known as Beltane, is a powerful Cross-Quarter Day, positioned half way between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. As Spring abounds, the energy all around us vibrates in a fresh new way. So, what about the May poles and May baskets? Isn't Mary crowned on May 1st? As we honor the turning of the Wheel of the Year, we will explore how energy moves and transforms our lives and how rituals assist us in the process of aligning with esoteric aspects of Beltane.

April 5

Prayer Shawl Group, First Thursday,

Helena Messenger's Home, 6:00 p.m.

For comfort, the Prayer Shawl Group still sponsored by LCCC, has decided to hold their monthly gathering in Helena Messenger's home at a new time. The group meets to knit and crochet shawls and lap blankets with prayers, love and good wishes for those who would benefit from these comforting items.

Once a year on Thanksgiving Sunday, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, they bring these items to church to bless them in a special ritual during the church service. As their service work, the shawls and lap blankets are then delivered to nursing homes, oncology units and other locations in need.

All are welcome to join them, including beginners and advanced needle workers. They are interested in teaching those who wish to learn to crochet or knit.

April 10

LCCC is sponsoring an ongoing book study group to be facilitated by various members. The current book is, Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership & Change (1996), by Don Edward Beck, and Christopher C. Cowan. Jerry Vind is the Group Facilitator. The group plans to meet four times to discuss this book.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Isaac Porter at bookstore@sanctasophia.org to order a copy of the book.

April 19

Monthly Toning Healing Circle, Third Thursday,

Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m.

Those who participate in the toning circle come together for the purpose of experiencing the vibrational qualities of our crystal toning bowls, the healing power of chanting and the haunting sound of the free notes. Participants can choose to surround themselves with the energy of one individual toning device, or experience them all at once. Most importantly, the presence of each individual adds to the power of the group. All are invited to join in this experience.

April 22

Orin Meditation Group, Fourth Sunday,

Sanctuary, 1:00 p.m.

Join the meditation group that holds short group meditations guided by channeled visualizations and meditation from the Orin material. Rev. Maggie Webb Adams-Karjens from Iowa introduced this material to seven village folks about two years ago. The group believes these meditations have drawn the attention of those [in body and in spirit] who are in alignment with the higher plan by attracting people, resources and those with a servant heart to assist the journey of Light of Christ Community Church, Sancta Sophia Seminary and Sparrow Hawk Village.

If you are interested in meditating with a group of like-minded individuals, to add your positive energies to the healing and restoration of all levels of consciousness, humanity, Mother Earth and the solar systems beyond us -- come join us in body or in spirit. We welcome all to unite in our efforts to send out a positive, healing vibration into the ethers.

The Celestial Hierarchy of Aries

Aries by Johfra
Aries by Johfra

Ruling from March 20 to April 19, the Celestial Hierarchy of Aries holds the archetype of the Christed One and each year bestows new energy of resurrection and renewal to humanity. This hierarchy of fire re-energizes the Christ-Within each spring. As the hierarchy of Aries replenishes the spirit of humankind, the entire revitalization of the planet occurs. The powerful energy floods every kingdom (plant, animal, and mineral) at the same time that it energizes humankind.

This hierarchy holds the archetypal pattern of a perfected Earth-the New Heaven and New Earth-for all to perceive intuitively. We are charged with energy to pursue our highest vision. These Fiery Ones resurrect our dreams and aspirations of high consciousness from deep within us, affecting souls either in meditation or in sleep-inspiring us to believe, "all things are possible," and know we can begin again.

This celestial hierarchy holds the secret of all life on our planet. All traditions reflect some part of this truth. In each world faith, we find fire and light used as significant symbols of deity. The holy ones fan the fire of fervor within humanity to ignite higher awareness in those who are ready, and to fill with aspiration those who are not yet ready but are unconsciously beginning to lean toward the Blessed Ideal.
