Significant Service~
One of the important disciplines for any aspirant on the spiritual path is service. It is not sufficient to simply soak up the teachings and inspiration; one progresses further by applying the teachings through serving others. We are to align with the Higher and Greater Wisdom and then share /implement that wisdom in the world. The image of the cross comes to mind as the vertical represents the alignment of Personality with Soul with Solar Angel with God's will while anchored on the earth. The horizontal portion of the cross suggests the outstretched arms attempting to connect with those whom one meets and aids through service. We live at the center of the cross - the crucible, if you will - where the heart is opened and vibrating in tune with the heart of Christ whose life ended in sacrificial service.
So important is service, that the sacred trip to Costa Rica in July 2012 contains several opportunities for hands-on service working side by side with local villagers improving either their school, their community center, or their medical clinic. Yes, we will visit sacred mystical sites, and yes, we will learn about sustainable living by staying at eco-lodges and visiting an organic coffee co-op. AND we will engage fully with the people of this beautiful country who have need and welcome our service. Visit our website for a full description of our trip and your opportunity to put spirituality into practice. Deposits for this unforgettable journey are due in April. In the meantime, take note of the other courses on campus and online which provide tools for serving others.
Blessings of peace,
Susan |

Alumni News
Alumni Rev. Wendy Stork has joined Alumnus Rev. Dr. Maggie (Webb) Karsjens and Rev. Jacque Buchannan in The Church of the Living God in Ankeny, Iowa (just north of Des Moines). This community of about a dozen has been in existence for almost 20 years, and meets twice weekly for worship and celebrations, including new and full moon observances, The Aquarian Rosary, Litany to the Angels, book club, meditations from LuminEssence (www.orindaben.com), and other esoteric materials. Solstices, equinoxes, and monthly Satsangs -- gatherings centered around "the hugging saint" (www.Amma.com) -- are also part of the ongoing calendar events. Recently, most members of the community have taken training in BodyTalk, (www.ibaglobalhealing.com), an amazing system that combines quantum physics with Eastern and Western medicine to create a powerfully effective conscious healing system. Alumni members, we are looking for news about your activities. If you would like to share what you are doing in your community, please contact me at wm_stork@yahoo.com. It is a way of sharing our lives with one another; a lot like we do during Professional Sharing at Conference, but on a more frequent basis.
Blessings to you all, Rev. Wendy Stork.

A Tribute to Dr. Betty Carper, a founding Governor of Sancta Sophia Seminary
Dr. Betty Carper made her transition on Monday, February 20 with Susan and Mark by her side. With a smile on her face she left this life looking forward to new adventures beyond the veil. As the first certified Teacher of Esoteric Philosophy, Betty expressed her wisdom and humor in various ways at LCCC by leading Hierarchy Meditations on Sunday mornings, sharing astrological insights at full moon celebrations and other services, and participating in the New Year's plays. As an esoteric astrologer, Betty also researched and chose the most beneficial date and time for ordination ceremonies and compiled the information for the Seed Thought Meditations we looked forward to receiving each year. Even though Betty's primary love and focus was associated with her service at Sancta Sophia, we will always treasure her contributions at Light of Christ Community Church. ___________________________________________________________ The service celebrating Betty's life was held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 3pm in Light of Christ Community Church and was attended by nearly 95 people traveling from many distances. The family thanks the many ministers and practitioners of LCCC who sent their heartfelt messages of support and sympathy. Memorial contributions may still be made in honor of Dr. Carper to Sancta Sophia Seminary, Light of Christ Community Church, or a charity of preference. ____________________________________________________________

April 16 - 21
Mon-Sat 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Instructors: Carol Parrish and Jesse Garnee
Carol Parrish and Jesse Garnee will be our guides as we explore treasures hidden right before our eyes. Registration required by April 6. Esoteric Christianity is the Christ Mystery revealed, not intellectual but simple. Christ Jesus loved the 'little ones" and prepared a Way for them. Esoteric Christianity is the inner awareness needed for the walking of the Christ path and how to develop a new consciousness. Christ is Love and Sophia is wisdom. We learn of the Christ Path as a great goal for each of us. We learn the hidden practices necessary to grasp Sophia: the Holy Spirit of Wisdom. In the three series of esoteric lessons, to be read prior to class time, we will study the various sets of material as we advance into the practices necessary to becoming a wise Son or Daughter of the Master who marked the Christian Way. If you have read these required courses previously, you will delight in learning to read between the lines; we shall attempt this. By spending two days on each set of lessons, we will experience a review of the door to the inner life for which we have searched.... A six day INTENSIVE---rich, rewarding, and life changing. You may stay over after this week for more private work if you wish, or stay in touch with Carol as we continually travel through the traditional, metaphysical, esoteric, and then to the Sophianic. Register and begin preparation for new awareness; if you have not done this material before, it is well worth it. It will be a joy to deepen your understanding of the inner life if it is a repeat for you. You have never studied this in-depth work with Carol...this is her first offering of this. Prerequisites: All three sets of lessons are being covered in six long but fun days. The three sets of lessons are offered at a discount; if you already have them, wonderful! Bring them along. Since its release in 1976, A Course in Miracles has come to be regarded as a modern spiritual classic and a great work of art. It has sold more than 2.2 million copies and it now exists in 21 different languages. As "truth is true," it should not surprise us to hear that what the Course says is not new, a host of different mystics, masters, saints, and sages from different faiths and different ages have been saying the same thing for a millennium. What is unique about the Course is its level of psychological sophistication. It is truly a document of the 20th and 21st centuries. Throughout this week-long course, we'll compare the insights of the mystics with the teaching of the Course. We'll explain what mysticism is, and then identify many of the characteristics of mystical experiences including: the loss of subject/object identity, timelessness, "egolessness," and experiences of wonder, awe, reverence, freedom, happiness, and bliss. We'll also delve into the lives, experiences, and teachings of a number of history's greatest mystics. Cost: $300 (3 credits) To register: Call 800-386-7161 or Email registrar@sanctasophia.org

Wisdom Teachings tell us that at the most basic level, there is One Energy - One God - One Source - of all life. But within the Cosmic Physical Plane, the One Energy is differentiated into Seven Great Streams that qualify all of life within and around us. Exploring the Seven Great Streams (the Seven Rays) helps to deepen our awareness and our understanding of the Divine Energies in which we live and move and have our being. During this class, each participant will be guided to identify their 3-fold personality ray profile, to produce a chart of their ray pattern, and thus to gain insight into the qualities, lessons, goals, strengths, and weaknesses of the subtle composite through which soul seeks to express itself in the material world.
