LCCC Schedule of Events
 Mantras 7:00 a.m., Monday - Saturday
A practice group for the chanting of mantras in Irdin. This work comes through the teachings of Jose Trigueirinho. Irdin is a sacred language, not for conversation. Its sounds have the power to help shape the etheric structure needed for the action of the evolutionary energies that work in the cosmos. The practice carries with it the qualities of devotion, silence and service.

Greetings,
Signs of spring are upon us here in Sparrow Hawk Village as we enjoy daffodils in bloom and see buds on our trees. It is a wonderful time of year to consider a trip to the village to visit us at one of our Lenten services, enjoy a moon service, celebrate Spring Equinox or take a class at Sancta Sophia.
This month's Sunday sermons in Lent will help us ponder our soul purpose as we shape an appropriate response to God's call, explore the wisdom of Sophia to become conscious co-creators with God, inspire us to find faith in our hearts through the role of singing in the spiritual process, and offer us time to reflect on our process of spiritual renewal that nourishes our souls. As we light our Lenten candles each Sunday, you may wish to join us. These are the themes for the Lenten season:
First Sunday: Temptation - Don't get caught in the maya and illusion.
Second Sunday: Shaping an appropriate response to God's call. Third Sunday: Becoming a conscious co-worker with God, and use wisely opportunities that come. Fourth Sunday: Faith - Finding answers in the heart. Intuitively knowing. Fifth Sunday: Spiritual maturity, renewal, commitment, and building a high consciousness.Cycles allow us to try and try again.
Sixth Sunday: Palm Sunday - Triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Historically: Jesus; Personally: our own. We have great news for those who have missed listening to our Sunday sermons on our Listening page. Thanks to the assistance of our webmanager and friend, Michael Alberts, we are once again in operation. Sermons over the last few weeks have already been posted. An effort is also being made to post the Sunday lessons from the first of the year and further back, if possible. Join us each week on the Listening page of our website for spiritual inspiration and to keep in touch with the messages shared by our LCCC ministers and guest speakers.
To enhance your Lenten journey, we also invite you to the Listening page to experience our Lenten Season Meditation Series -- 6-weeks of reflections for each of our Lenten themes. Each week, four of our ministers offer thoughts on the theme, a poem or special reading, an original song written and performed by our music minister, and a guided meditation. May the beauty of the season be enhanced through the sharing of our minds and hearts as we contemplate the fiery mysteries of Easter.
Sancta Sophia has enjoyed a successful start to the year with online classes and a Shamanic Journeying Workshop. March offers something for everyone, beginning with " Tantra Yoga," an online class facilitated by Donna Mitchell-Moniak, which will help us recognize our interwoven Oneness. Week-long on campus classes include, "Homiletics," with Dean Susan Hamilton, "Pastoral Care II," with Rev. Sue Van Dyke and team and "Spiritual Care in Crisis and Trauma," with Duane Bowers. If you only have time for a weekend renewal, join us for the "5 Rhythms™ Waves Danceshop," with Visudha de los Santos, a "Silent Retreat: Living in Two Worlds-Feet on the Ground, Heart in Heaven," with ben Worth, or "A Citizen's Guide to Disaster Assistance," with Loree Leslie. Please see the 2012 Sancta Sophia Course Catalog to read the full class descriptions and see the entire Class Schedule or check out the updated Year-at-a Glance.

Second Sunday in Lent
"The Cosmic Erasers"
Rev. Peggy Eaton
Shaping an appropriate response to God's call is the keynote for this Sunday, March 4th, the Second Sunday in Lent. There are tools right at our disposal - inside and outside of ourselves, that help us align with our spirit/soul purpose, that help us heal our addictions and attachments, that help us erase those animate and inanimate objects that bind us in a state of limitation. The Cosmic Erasers are ready for clearing a space for something new to enter and serve our Soul path. Bring your spiritual tool bag and share what works for you while on this spirit journey in the physical body.

Third Sunday in Lent
"Coming of Age"
Rev. Mary Jane Dicus
The theme for the third Sunday of lent is using the wisdom of Sophia to become conscious co-creators with God. As Jesus taught in the temple, the love of God, our neighbors and ourselves provide the keys to ethical living. Today we will look at some practical suggestions for integrating the energy of love into our daily living through the cultivation of virtues. Our model for incorporating the practice of virtues will be the template used in The Virtues Project. Join us as we explore practical suggestions for living a conscious and aware life.

Fourth Sunday in Lent
"The Role of Singing in the Spiritual Process"
David Cutrell, Guest Speaker

We will explore the role that singing plays in the spiritual life of an individual and that of a group. This is about shifting our energy from the mundane to the more sublime. The modalities for our process will be experiential (singing and listening to music). David will draw on his 25 years in the Mennonite Church (four part singing), his 10 years in Figueira, 8 years in the SHV Mantra Group, and his recent attendance at a weekend workshop learning Gregorian chants in the local Benedictine monastery.

Fifth Sunday in Lent
"Spiritual Renewal Through Our Lenten Journey"
Pastor Retha Banez
At this point in our Lenten journey, we have had daily opportunities to walk with Christ and deepen our relationship with God. Year after year, we are reminded once again to re-commit ourselves to a program of study, prayer, meditation, and service. Through inner reflection, re-evaluation, preparation, change and transformation, we grow in maturity in our relationship with the Divine. Let's gather together on this Sunday to share from our hearts the insights gained at this grace-filled time of inner spiritual renewal and nourishment of our souls.

 MEMORIAL SERVICE
DR. BETTY CARPER, PhD
SATURDAY, MARCH 10, 3:00 P.M.
LIGHT OF CHRIST COMMUNITY CHURCH
Dr. Betty Carper made her transition on Monday, February 20 with Susan and Mark by her side. With a smile on her face she left this life looking forward to new adventures beyond the veil.
As the first certified Teacher of Esoteric Philosophy, Betty expressed her wisdom and humor in various ways at LCCC by leading Hierarchy Meditations on Sunday mornings, sharing astrological insights at full moon celebrations and other services, and participating in the New Year's plays. As an esoteric astrologer, Betty also researched and chose the most beneficial date and time for ordination ceremonies and compiled the information for the Seed Thought Meditations we looked forward to receiving each year. Even though Betty's primary love and focus was associated with her service at Sancta Sophia, we will always treasure her contributions at Light of Christ Community Church.
A special tribute about Betty's years of service as a founding Governor of Sancta Sophia Seminary, Esoteric Teacher, Advisor, and "Form Queen" for the Graduate Program will be included in the next edition of the SSS News.

Book Study Group
Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership & Change
Meeting at the home of Robert & Peg Willson, 7:00 p.m.
LCCC is sponsoring an ongoing book study group to be facilitated by various members. The second book is, Spiral Dynamics: Mastering Values, Leadership & Change (1996), by Don Edward Beck, and Christopher C. Cowan. Jerry Vind is the Group Facilitator. The group plans to meet four times to discuss this book. They met on February 25 for Part I to discuss chapters 1, 2 and 3. On March 13, please come prepared for Part II to discuss chapters 4, 5 and 6. The dates for Part III and IV will be announced soon.Don Beck, Ph.D., has been designing and implementing transformational practices for over thirty years. Spiral DynamicsTM presents Beck's unique values-based model that charts the evolution and emergence of human nature a bio-psycho-social map of living human systems that focuses on natural designs; a map that provides holistic and integral solutions. Spiral Dynamics advances the principle that human nature is not fixed; and when pressured by circumstances, humans are able to adapt to their environment by constructing new, more complex, conceptual models of the world that allow them to handle the new problems. According to Beck and Cowan, these conceptual models are organized around so-called vMemes: systems of core values or collective intelligences, applicable to both individuals and entire cultures. In spiral dynamics, the term vMeme is used to refer to a core value system, acting as an organizing principle, that expresses itself through memes (self-propagating ideas, habits, or cultural practices). The letter v indicates these are not basic memes but value systems that include them. Each person/culture embodies a mixture of the value patterns, with varying degrees of intensity in each. If you are interested in participating, please contact Isaac Porter at bookstore@sanctasophia.org to order a copy of the book. March 16
Monthly Toning Healing Circle, Third Thursday,
Sanctuary, 6:30 p.m.
Those who participate in the toning circle come together for the purpose of experiencing the vibrational qualities of our crystal toning bowls, the healing power of chanting and the haunting sound of the free notes. Participants can choose to surround themselves with the energy of one individual toning device, or experience them all at once. Most importantly, the presence of each individual adds to the power of the group. All are invited to join in this experience.
March 25
Orin Meditation Group, Fourth Sunday,
Sanctuary, 1:00 p.m.
Join the meditation group that holds short group meditations guided by channeled visualizations and meditation from the Orin material. Rev. Maggie Webb Adams-Karjens from Iowa introduced this material to seven village folks about two years ago. The group believes these meditations have drawn the attention of those [in body and in spirit] who are in alignment with the higher plan by attracting people, resources and those with a servant heart to assist the journey of Light of Christ Community Church, Sancta Sophia Seminary and Sparrow Hawk Village.
If you are interested in meditating with a group of like-minded individuals, to add your positive energies to the healing and restoration of all levels of consciousness, humanity, Mother Earth and the solar systems beyond us -- come join us in body or in spirit. We welcome all to unite in our efforts to send out a positive, healing vibration into the ethers.
Blessings of the Cosmos Group
The Blessings of the Cosmos group that has been meeting monthly over the past year has come to an end. Pastor Retha Banez thanks all who have joined her in reading and discussing each lesson and experiencing the body prayers by Neil Douglas-Klotz.

The Celestial Hierarchy of Pisces
 | Pisces by Johfra |
The Celestial Hierarchy of Pisces, known as the Lords of Compassion for their tender, wise, and caring response to human needs, rules from February 19 to March 20. Many of humanity's advanced souls join this hierarchy and return to minister to humanity from this elevated point of service.
The cosmic pattern held above the Earth by this hierarchy is that of a perfected human, created in the image and likeness of God. We are given a glimpse of this heavenly human manifesting divinity within. Under the hierarchy of Pisces, universal love is sought. When lessons are completed and the Path of Initiation realized, we become God-Realized-the Christ-Consciousness demonstrated.
Each year, under the watchful eye of the Lords of Compassion, we undergo a period of recapitulation and self-examination. Under their care, we bring together the duality and dichotomy of our own natures. We have to struggle with our emotions and our minds; we have to deal with spirit and matter; we have to blend our fiery nature with the tender sensitivity we also carry. This is the eternal process of initiation. Now is the time to evaluate and renew our commitment to the ongoing work of becoming all that we can be. We do our inner work and prepare ourselves for the incoming energies of spring, Aries, renewal.
