LCCC Schedule of Events
 Mantras 7:00 a.m., Monday - Saturday
A practice group for the chanting of mantras in Irdin. This work comes through the teachings of Jose Trigueirinho. Irdin is a sacred language, not for conversation. Its sounds have the power to help shape the etheric structure needed for the action of the evolutionary energies that work in the cosmos. The practice carries with it the qualities of devotion, silence and service.
Morning Meditation 8:30 a.m., Monday - Friday

REMINDER: LCCC ANNUAL REPORTS ARE DUE FROM ALL
MINISTERS, TEACHERS, AND PRACTITIONERS BY DECEMBER 31 Please email reports to lcccannualreports@gmail.com or mail to Pastor Retha Banez, Light of Christ Community Church 22 Summit Ridge Drive, Tahlequah, OK 74464 |
Greetings, Preparing for the Christmas season at Light of Christ Community Church, our hearts are light and glad as we await the birth of the Christ child once again. As Winter Solstice draws near, so does the Christ Light that penetrates the planet, bringing humanity closer to the evolutionary goal. Council Minister, Rev. Don Ashmall of the International Council of Community Churches, sent an Advent/Christmas letter recently, and part of it reads: As we enter once again into the season of Advent, the world seems to be a lost and dangerous place. Violence reigns far and wide; anger and hatred are seen in every nation; there are too many hungry, too many without homes; too many without hope. It was to just such a world that the good news of the Christ child and the promise of God's shalom on earth were first proclaimed. Today we who are the community churches share the same message with our own time and place. Despair will not triumph; hope will reign victorious. Doubt and cynicism will not prevail; faith will make its way. Sorrow and suffering will not endure; in the eternal scheme of things, joy has no ending. This affirmation that peace, hope, faith, and joy will prevail is shared by people of good will everywhere. We are happy to proclaim it here at LCCC. Lighting the candles of Advent week after week, our sanctuary swells with expectancy, preparation, hope, identity, and joyfulness, as you can see below. If you are unable to attend in person these final Sundays in 2011, we invite you to join us in spirit. May the tremendous love-light with which the Christ floods the planet each year shine on your holiday activities and bless you and your family; the joy of the soul has no ending. Blessings, All the ministers at Light of Christ Community Church

Fourth Sunday of Advent
"The Way of the Lord"
Pastor Retha Banez & Rev. Steven Chase
During the four weeks of Advent we have been preparing, purifying and waiting in joyful expectation for the coming of Emmanuel, "God with us." On the Fourth Sunday of Advent we focus on the theme of identification with the life of Master Jesus, the Christ, who came to bring Light into the darkness. Through his great Love his life was a model for humanity, to show us the Way on the path of initiation. May our hearts be open preparing us for the holy birth.

CONNECT GROUPS

December 1
Prayer Shawl Group, First Thursday, Helena Messenger's Home,
6:00 p.m.
For comfort, the Prayer Shawl Group still sponsored by LCCC, has decided to hold their monthly gathering in Helena Messenger's home at a new time. The group meets to knit and crochet shawls and lap blankets with prayers, love and good wishes for those who would benefit from these comforting items.
Once a year on Thanksgiving Sunday, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, they bring these items to church to bless them in a special ritual during the church service. As their service work, the shawls and lap blankets are then delivered to nursing homes, oncology units and other locations in need.
All are welcome to join them, including beginners and advanced needle workers. They are interested in teaching those who wish to learn to crochet or knit.
December 13
Monthly Wellness Center Healing Circle, Second Tuesday, Wellness Center, 7:00 p.m.
The Sparrow Hawk healers are hosting a monthly healing circle in the Wellness Center. Different healers will plan a new healing modality each month providing diverse experiences. All are welcome, so please join us.
Monthly Toning Healing Circle, Third Thursday, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m.
Cancelled this month.
Those who participate in the toning circle come together for the purpose of experiencing the vibrational qualities of our crystal toning bowls, the healing power of chanting and the haunting sound of the free notes. Participants can choose to surround themselves with the energy of one individual toning device, or experience them all at once. Most importantly, the presence of each individual adds to the power of the group. All are invited to join in this experience.
Orin Meditation Group, Fourth Sunday, Sanctuary, 1:00 p.m.
Cancelled this month due to Christmas service.
Join the meditation group that holds short group meditations guided by channeled visualizations and meditation from the Orin material. Rev. Maggie Webb Adams-Karjens from Iowa introduced this material to seven village folks about two years ago. The group believes these meditations have drawn the attention of those [in body and in spirit] who are in alignment with the higher plan by attracting people, resources and those with a servant heart to assist the journey of Light of Christ Community Church, Sancta Sophia Seminary and Sparrow Hawk Village.
If you are interested in meditating with a group of like-minded individuals, to add your positive energies to the healing and restoration of all levels of consciousness, humanity, Mother Earth and the solar systems beyond us -- come join us in body or in spirit. We welcome all to unite in our efforts to send out a positive, healing vibration into the ethers.
December 29
Blessings of the Cosmos Group, Thursday, Sanctuary, 7:00 p.m.
Pastor Retha Banez invites all who would like to participate in a monthly group called "Blessings of the Cosmos," based on the Neil Douglas-Klotz Aramaic work highlighting nearly two dozen of Jesus' most powerful benedictions. His book reminds us that each one is a promise that "every person might become a son or daughter of God, living in wisdom and compassion, as Jesus did." Join Pastor Banez as she leads us through one of these powerful blessings each time we meet accompanied by a beautiful, guided body prayer. We are also working with and practicing the Aramaic Lord's Prayer.

The Celestial Hierarchy of Sagittarius
 | Sagittarius by Johfra |
The Celestial Hierarchy of Sagittarius rules from Nov. 22 to Dec 21. Also called the Lords of Mind, these fiery flashes of consciousness carry the Fiery Mind of God into the ethers of the mental plane and hopefully into the chalice of the unfolding human mind. Remember, the coworkers, the Lords of Mercury (Gemini), assist in stepping down the flashes of high consciousness from the higher realities to the mind-made-ready within humanity.
The hierarchy of Sagittarius dares us to detach from personality and identify with the inner prompting we sense -- the purpose of the Great Work. Humanity is to unfold to become gods: Remember, "ye are gods" (Psalm 82:6, John 10:34). These Lords of Mind rule the higher mind -- the mind capable of abstractions -- which can expand and come to know in ways little understood as yet. Here at the edge of consciousness, we see the process of the chalice developing, bit-by-bit. The organization of mind-stuff and the levels of mind-in-formation are coming to be. As the chalice is being built, more and more precipitation manifests to be received, grasped, and integrated into the ever-expanding awareness of reality.
During the time Sagittarius rules, the light illumines and expands the reflective ability of the minds it touches: "Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). Our minds stretch to know Divine Mind. Challenged to be more than seems possible, we respond with a leap of heart.
