Greetings!
From the Dean's Desk. . . At the time of my writing, the Spring Equinox is coming this week and I can hardly wait! The clocks have sprung forward, the daffodils AND the hyacinths have popped up. Even the peacocks and tom turkeys are strutting their stuff for all to see. After the inward reflective time of winter, our spirits are also ready to greet the longer days filled with new life and new possibilities. Change is in the air as the winds shift from biting cold to warm breezes. What has been hibernating deep within, sheltered from the cold, can open widely to the radiance from the sun. There is no longer the need to barricade oneself against the battering storms. Hope and joy are promised to us as we look at the buds of spring. We can join the buzzing bees eager to drink in the first nectar of the blossom. As you look at the course schedule for the next few weeks, you'll see wonderful opportunities to feed your spirit with stimulating new teachings. It's not too late to register for " 2012: How to Face Prophecies and Predictions" with Carol Parrish and Jesse Garnee (April 4-8) as we prepare ourselves for 2012 and learn self-healing techniques. The following two weeks, " Hidden Wisdom of the Christ Message" & " Bible and Comparative World Scriptures" take us deeper into our Judeo-Christian roots expanding our esoteric understandings. The Bible as literature is filled with ancient archetypal symbolism, which provides insight and inspiration for our spiritual growth. Tools for finding power in our devotional practices are highlighted by Rev. Tom Simota in " Hour by Hour...Find Divine Power" (April 15-16) and further awakening through healing life's traumas can be ours as we study the TARA Approach with Annie Guzman. The flowers of May bloom more fully as we are immersed in " Living the Qabalah" for six days with Carole Stevenson-Snell (May 1-7). Whether you are able to join us on campus for these adventures or not, I pray you are able to greet this spring with enthusiasm, expectancy and joy for the new possibilities before you. Attune yourself to the Creator's cycle of spring and all of its anticipation - who knows, you may be in for a surprise discovery! Abundant blessings and peace to you, Susan |
March 21 - 25 The Hidden Forces of LifeDr. Brenda Cutrell
In order to effectively serve in the world as followers of the Light, we need to enter into the Mystery. Our focus is That which is Unknown. With this as our anchor point, we study the hidden and occult forces of life within which we live and where we give of ourselves. To draw closer to that Unknown, we need to transcend the mind and move into the depths of the occult life. We live within a play of forces that governs all of life. We must learn to recognize the differences between energies on the intermediary planes of existence, moving without fear on our path. This class explores many avenues and looks to trigger inner discoveries in class participants. Both Bailey and Trigueirinho material is used. Learn more

April 4 - 82012: How to Face Prophecies and Predictions & Healing Self and OthersRevs. Carol E. Parrish and Jesse Garnee
2012: How to Face Prophecies and Predictions Monday - Friday AM SessionWe have heard many dire words over the years, yet we also hear promises of a "thousand years of peace"; a more enlightened humanity; and the richness of Masters returning. Humanity will embrace new friendship with the other kingdoms. What lies ahead? Earth changes, weather of a fierce nature, the predictions of the Bible and other topics are included. What are the real keys to the future? Let's review the boldness of many: Edgar Cayce, Atlantis, Mu, The Maya, Moira Timms, and Nostradamus. What should we believe? Come looking for a new way to perceive these difficult subjects and ready to find a positive way to face the future. Followed by... Healing Self and Others Monday - Friday PM SessionThrough a HOLISTIC approach we can discover new and old ways to be kind to our physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, etheric, and astral bodies. When we better understand how to heal ourselves, we can become better channels, helping others with their particular needs. We will explore ancient and modern ideas about these gifts to humanity and how to incorporate them into our lives so we can heal ourselves and those around us and become a positive influence on our environment. We will tap into the ideas of Edgar Cayce, Norman Walker, Bernard Jensen, Shakti Gawain, Louise Hay, Dick Sutphen and others who devoted their lives to providing us road maps and recipes to good health and joy on all levels. April 11 - 15Hidden Wisdom of the Christ MessageRevs. Susan Hamilton and Retha Banez
Jesus, the Christ (the 'anointed one') brought to his people "good news". The impact of that good news has endured for eons and is still relevant today because the message is universal for our soul's journey. Team teachers this week will bring a fresh perspective, without dogma, on the Gospels and the ministry of Jesus. Together we'll explore the cultural setting of ancient Israel, the teachings and healing ministry of Jesus, and the esoteric meaning of his message: the "kingdom of God is within". Topics this week include introduction to the Gospels, the Christ/Sophia construct, multiple interpretations of the teaching parables, the Water and Fire Mysteries, Q&A processing time to pull it all together, and much more. A must for ordination candidates and ministers looking for a refresher course. Learn more

WEEKEND WORKSHOP
April 15 - 16 Hour by Hour...Find Divine Power
Rev. Tom Simota
The Liturgy of the Hours (also known as the Divine Office) is one of the richest single prayer resources of the Christian Church. It provides prayers, psalms, and meditation for every hour of every day. It has existed from the earliest times, to fulfill the Lord's command to "pray without ceasing." In this workshop we shall explore the ancient liturgical canonical hours with both a traditional and an esoteric focus. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the prayerful application of the "hours" and discover ways to incorporate this devotion (and esoteric adaptations) with their existing spiritual practice. Workshop concludes with an esoteric benediction ceremony. Learn more

April 18 - 22 The Bible and Comparative World Scriptures
Revs. Susan Hamilton and Mark Throckmorton
Three major world religions share a common scripture in the 1st (Old) Testament. The foundation of our world view, literature, and faith is embedded in the ancient myths of the Torah, Prophets, Psalms and Proverbs. Underneath the traditional and doctrinal interpretations lie important inner truths for our spiritual journey, and the 100 names for God are grounded in these texts. These were the treasured and formative stories of King David, Master Jesus, and Mohammed which speak to us of the ancient truths in the incarnation cycle. Together with the team of teachers, you will discover soul path archetypes such as redeeming the promise, returning from exile, deliverance to freedom, creating reconciliation, and becoming 'sacred' through sacrifice. Great class for ordination candidates and ministers interested in learning more. Learn more

Article: A New/Old Perspective on the Bible and Faith. . .By Rev. Susan C. Hamilton
Since the classes offered during the middle two weeks in April focus on Jesus, the Christ and the Bible as a sacred text, one may experience a reaction which stiffens one's posture or at least the ears of one's soul. Those of us who have been wounded by traditional or conservative Christianity and yet still have some belief in God, may find ourselves very leery of any course or seminary, no matter how non-traditional, which still purports to find value and meaning in the Bible and in Jesus of Nazareth. We are not alone in our skepticism and rejection of literal interpretations. One of our founding forebearers, Thomas Jefferson, also struggled with his beliefs, the Bible, and the church leaders/doctrines of his time. He went so far as to cut out the passages of the Bible which did not match his faith perspective! To support our own healthy questioning (which will be encouraged in class), I've included below excerpts from Founding Faith, a review of Jefferson, by Steven Walden.

Self-Care: Introduction to the TARA Approach:Tools for Awakening Resources and AwarenessAnnie Guzman, RN
We are energetic beings! Our overdependence on rational thought and language has obscured our natural ability to sense the flow of energy. We can regain a full awareness of the energetic bridge which links the body and the mind. Take advantage of this opportunity to begin the journey of understanding our body's wisdom by intimately getting to know the very temple which contains our every truth. Participants will learn to locate and vitalize twenty-six bioelectric sites along the meridian lines, differentiate shock from trauma, distinguish sympathetic activation from parasympathetic activation, and treat self and others with energy medicine for a broad spectrum of needs. May 1 - 7LIVING THE QABALAH- A Six Day Experiential OfferingCarole Stephenson-Snell
"Qabalah" means "to receive," and actually Living the Qabalah means "receiving" 24-7. Master Jesus mysteriously promised, "All these things ye shall do, and greater still." Does His promise baffle us? Not if we understand that we ARE the Mystery and journey within to unveil the promise. The Tree of Life assists us to plumb our depths and, together, expand the portal of group consciousness. Through social-silence for focused reception, Qabalistic transmissions, and by altering states of consciousness at will, this experience takes Ageless Wisdom all the way to the bone. Transformation begins with like-minded people intending that "all may be lifted" by their group work. We will study and eat and grow together as we Live the Qabalah. Only Good-Will Required. Materials to bring: new journal. Learn more
