Greetings!
I've been thinking a great deal about abundance lately as my husband and I were welcomed to Oklahoma with a record amount of snow. When the Universe seems to throw us a curve ball, we may find ourselves complaining or disgruntled at a minimum. And yet, if we can shift perspectives, what first appeared as a hindrance or obstacle may actually turn out to be of assistance to us. The snowfall, which nearly paralyzed the folks in Sparrow Hawk Village and closed our seminary offices for a few days, actually provided the necessary time for my husband and me to unpack. It also provided an exceptional opportunity for some Villagers to cross-country ski and another person away on retreat to have an extended amount of 'down time.' It gave us even more concrete ways of supporting one another with meeting basic needs. As you look at the upcoming classes at the Seminary, you'll notice opportunities for shifting your perspective and understanding yourself and others in new ways. "Conversations with Carol" are always abundantly inspirational, the " 5 Rhythms™ Waves Danceshop" brings our body and our spirit into plentiful and integrated fullness, and " Invitations to Create a New World" promises to expand our perspective and consciousness richly. " The Hidden Forces of Life" encourages us to enter into the Mystery and move into the depths of the occult life and " 2012: How to Face Prophecies and Predictions" followed by " Healing Self and Others" gives us a glimpse of a possible future and what we can do now to create an abundantly healthy and joyful life. The plethora of snow for us early in February may be simply a foretaste of the bounty we will enjoy this coming year. CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY
The Emerging Progressive Theology
 The new "Progressive Theology" bridges an esoteric perspective and the biblical life and teachings of Master Jesus. The work of John Dominic Crossan and Marcus Borg offer us a way to embrace both mainline Christianity and the ancient teachings of spirituality in an authentic way. We no longer have to choose one over the over, but can learn to integrate and articulate our personal journey of transformation along with our outward service in transforming the world. This class will introduce participants to the matrix of Jesus, including the social, political, and historical world of ancient Palestine which fueled his ministry. Reviewing DVD segments of presentations by Borg and Crossan in Israel, students will engage with biblical texts written during the Roman Empire and explore their application to our times as we discern what it means to follow the path of Jesus in the American "Empire." With many becoming increasingly uncomfortable using the label of "Christian," this week will offer a new perspective on one's commitment to being a disciple of Christ serving God's plan on earth. Resources for further reading and adult study groups will be provided.  Our daily studies begin with knowledge of what is occurring astrologically and then deepen into the essential (esoteric) understandings of the purpose and service behind the full moon solar festivals, beginning with the Three Spring Festivals (Aries, Taurus, Gemini). Solar festivals (full moons) are points of crisis, times of spiritual impact for humanity that bring forth the new template, creating the new world. Through study, visualization, mantrams, and seed thoughts, we will develop an astrological and esoteric sensitivity and understanding of the new/full moon energies. The Hierarchy has called humanity and New Group of World Servers to assist them during these times.
