Greetings, Thursday, February 3rd marks both the New Moon of Aquarius in some time zones and the Chinese New Year, heralding in the year of the Rabbit. The Chinese Zodiac calendar always begins on the new moon of the new year and ends on the full moon. Birth years falling under the Rabbit sign are 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951, 1939, 1927, 1915, 1903.
At Light of Christ Community Church, we are highly respectful of various world traditions, faiths, and rituals. To further that tenet, Co-pastor Rev. Retha Banez issued a broad invitation at Fall Conference last November. She encouraged all LCCC ministers, practitioners, members and friends to take an active part in the Sunday worship services; monthly moon celebrations; and other church events. Both she and co-pastor, Rev. Robert Willson, would love to have more interfaith philosophy, principles and beliefs represented during the year. When you come to attend some of the amazing 2011 classes and workshops, we invite you to light a candle, read a poem, deliver a message, or introduce a favorite ritual. Just let them know your intent, and they will be delighted to welcome you in the chapel or even outdoors, if the weather permits.
The first Sunday of this month is dedicated to the importance of Gratitude and how it adds to our life. The morning of February 13 brings loving thoughts and a delightful opportunity to experience through poetry and music the feelings we call Love. Later that afternoon all couples are invited to participate in the First Annual Valentine's Vow Renewal Ceremony. The following week we reflect on the need for trust while flying solely on our Faith, and we'll end the month with the profound meaning of the Beatitudes when interpreted from the Aramaic language that Master Jesus spoke.
This month begins an incredible year of group work, as Sancta Sophia features thirty-six knowledgeable, dedicated and enthusiastic instructors and facilitators. Many of our faculty members this year are LCCC ministers, practitioners, members, or longtime friends. Following the retirement last year of Rev. Dr. Carol E. Parrish as Dean of the Seminary, we now welcome Rev. Dr. Susan Hamilton as she assumes the responsibilities of that position. To read an introduction of Dean Hamilton and to view the 2011 Schedule of Classes, please follow these links to the website.
As you can see, there is great excitement here in Sparrow Hawk Village as we move into the future with Gratitude, Love, Faith and the Wisdom of the Christ Consciousness. Please join us as we pray and meditate, learn and explore, laugh and sing in 2011.
Blessings, All the ministers at Light of Christ Community Church

Sunday, February 6, 10:30 a.m.
"Gratitude" Rev. Peggy Willson
The things we receive in life and are grateful for are largely determined by our mind set. Gratitude recharges our soul energy, gives us a positive outlook on life and makes us successful in meeting life's challenges. "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

If Music be the food of love, play on. What is this LOVE that all the poets and songwriters speak of? Come and hear what they had to say. No preaching. Just experience through poetry and music the feelings we call LOVE.

"Blessed Are They..." Rev. Retha Banez
The Beatitudes were delivered by Jesus the Christ in the opening verses of the famous Sermon on the Mount. They are virtues for living that guide us on our journey. At first glance, they appear to be simply stated, but are much more profound in meaning when interpreted from the Aramaic language that Jesus spoke. On this Sunday, we will explore the beauty and depth of these important values to live by that Christ gave humanity as keys to the Kingdom of God.

The Celestial Hierarchy of Aquarius
|
Aquarius by Johfra |
The hierarchy of the Angels rules from January 20 to February 18. This angelic, or devic, evolution parallels the evolution of humanity. Imagine humanity and angels as cousins, and consider the close relationship this promises for the coming Aquarian age. Lord Christ is the Teacher and Master of Humanity and of Angels.
As we enter the Age of Aquarius, humanity will increase its awareness of the angels, or the devic kingdom of nature, for two reasons. First, our unfolding astral senses will perceive life in the subtle planes more readily, and, secondly, as we establish right relationship kingdom to kingdom, humanity and the kingdom of angels will truly become spiritual siblings.
Several important mysteries will unfold upon our planet as we advance. More human beings will balance masculine and feminine energies. This does not mean confusion of sexuality; but rather, positive self-assurance and a balance of heart and mind. As astral currents become more positive and conducive to the co-working of kingdoms, peace on Earth will be possible in a manner that has heretofore been rendered impossible by the pain-filled desire currents and thoughtforms of the last few hundred years. As the astral veil dissolves and immediate imbalances are overcome, peace will descend on Earth.
