"Arise, shine; for your light has come,

Greetings,
We are told to shine; to let God's Light be seen through us. What a challenge! To radiate the cool, pure Light of Clarity and Honesty, as well as the warm Light of Love and Compassion. Can we do that? Are we clear enough containers to reflect the Christ-light in all its beauty? Or are we muddled by ego, and discolored by desire, so that the Light is dimmed and diminished as it tries to flow through us? These are good questions to ponder as we begin a new year.
This month offers a wide array of Sunday lessons to help us be crystal clear containers emanating the Christ-light. If you are not able to join us in the sanctuary of Light of Christ Community Church, you can hear the message a few days later using the link to the left called "Sunday Audio" or from this link to the Listening Page of the LCCC website.
We begin with Epiphany this first Sunday of the year. The following week we are invited to participate in a Baptism Renewal Ritual within our church service, which gives all of us an opportunity to purify, renew, and re-dedicate our lives in service to the Christ and humanity.
Later in the month we take a psycho-spiritual look at the year 2012, and consider how to discern a bombardment of information on this subject. On January 23rd, the joy of experiencing the esoteric Heaven by enhancing our inner lives is explored. And the month ends with a fascinating discussion of the incarnations of Master Jesus.
So as we begin 2011, still full of resolution and determination, let's examine "God Shining Forth" in whatever way works for each of us. And let's do whatever is needed to cleanse our individual containers, so that God's perfect Light shines clearly through us.
We leave you with a sensible resolution received in a greeting card last week:
"Bring only the best of who you have become into the New Year."

"Shining Forth"

 Whether aware of it or not, we are part of a group of Seekers. People all over the planet, in all cultures and religions, know with a deep certainty that humans can become something greater: Wise Ones. In our inevitable upward spiral, we are all turning toward God's "shining forth," like sunflowers following the movement of the sun. And we rejoice in the loving warmth of that sun on our faces, as we turn away from whatever tends to pull us down. And thus we begin the new year full of hopeful potential. How will God shine forth in our lives in 2011?

Baptism of the Lord Sunday
"A Renewal by Spirit"
Rev. Retha Banez  A new tradition of baptism renewals in January was born last year at Light of Christ Community Church on Baptism of the Lord Sunday. This special Sunday in the church year is celebrated on the Sunday after Epiphany. We remember Jesus today, both from an exoteric and esoteric point of view, as he entered into the River Jordon receiving a baptism of both water and fire, passing through his second initiation and embodying the Christ Presence for his three-year ministry on Earth. Today we also remember our own baptism into the Body of Christ. Rev. Banez invites you to wear white and participate in a Baptism Renewal Ritual within our church service, which gives all of us an opportunity to purify, renew, and re-dedicate our lives in service to the Christ and humanity.

We will explore: 1) Experiencing the esoteric heaven - the one right here, right now. 2) How to maintain that connective tissue with Creator, our Divine Beloved, on a daily basis. 3) Cooperating with the natural laws and principles that enhance our lives on the inner, regardless of outer appearances and circumstances. 4) We will share our maintenance plan and practice for the inner heaven with each other.

"Incarnations of Jesus "

 The mystic Edgar Cayce mentioned a number of incarnations of the Soul that had its final incarnation as Master Jesus. It will prove illuminating to consider the lessons that the Soul learned and some of the karmic consequences that occurred which shaped the final incarnation in Palestine. Viewing some of the karmic reasons for some of the events in the life of Jesus will give us a broader appreciation of the great life.

The Celestial Hierarchy of Capricorn

The Celestial Hierarchy of Capricorn, identified as the Archangels, or the Cloud of Silent Watchers, rules from December 21 to January 20. Within its loving care, Earth experiences the highest vibration of the annual cycle. Lord Christ enters the very heart of the planet, and the archangels and angelic choruses burst into song. Remember, winter solstice occurs as the planet moves from Sagittarius to Capricorn, under the initiating influence of the archangels -- the archetypal patterns for a divine humanity. Planetary life surges with response -- "Yes," is the cry -- as we rejoice in the outpouring of love and light. Awakened humanity seeks to advance on the holy path, coming each year into higher awareness of the hidden work transpiring in the subtle planes.
As this cycle occurs annually, the Christ Light bathes Earth from deep within her heart, and the planet changes. New impulses are felt, and the planet's vibrations quicken as healing infuses her. As Earth vibrates a bit higher each year, she is transforming into a planet of peace, love, and universal appreciation -- a redemptive work. Awakened ones participate with the angels and archangels in a time of rejoicing to magnify the high energy and step it down from the etheric and astral levels to the physical plane itself.
