After the Annual Conference, we are always grateful for time spent with old and new friends. On Thanksgiving Sunday (Nov. 21), we also celebrate the Full Moon of Scorpio, and we discuss transformation through gratitude. The final Sunday of November begins the sacred season of Advent, with great expectations and hope-filled visions on the horizon.

Sunday, November 7, 10:30 a.m. Opening Sunday of 29th Annual Homecoming and Conference
"New Beginnings" Rev. Robert Willson
This Sunday is the beginning of our 29th annual conference. We will consider what might be required to start anew on our spiritual quest. What might we glean from the wisdom of physicist Stephen Hawkins, the mystic Byron Katie, the perennial teachings of Alice Bailey and Corinne Heline, and from A Course in Miracles that will help us clarify what makes for a fresh start on our quest? As Master Jesus said, and I paraphrase, "To see truth requires new eyes. Yet, truth is very simple."

Sunday, November 14, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Closing Sunday of Homecoming and Conference
"Embracing the Mantle of Our Ministry" Rev. Retha Banez & LCCC Trustees
Bringing conference to a close is always a bittersweet time for all of us in the village who have enjoyed many special moments with old friends. As we prepare to part company for another year, may we first gather together with an intent to fully embrace the mantle of our ministry and re-dedicate ourselves to the purpose of the call of Christ in our lives. What have you been called to do? All of us, whether we are ordained or not, have gifts and talents to share, and a ministry to serve is some way. We invite you to join us on this special Sunday as we recommit our lives in service to humanity.

Sunday, November 21, 10:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Sunday & Full Moon of Scorpio Celebration
"Transforming through Gratitude" Rev. Retha Banez & Rev. Steven Chase
On the Full Moon of Scorpio, we are reminded of the virtue of transformation we strive for in our lives. Imagine how transforming it would be for each of us if we had an attitude of gratitude every day. A simple act of gratitude can be life changing. Thoughts of gratitude and blessings naturally come to mind as we gather together with family and friends at Thanksgiving. How might our lives transform even more with daily recognition and thankfulness for all that we receive instead of just once a year? At LCCC on Thanksgiving Sunday, it is a tradition for us to have an open microphone and share the many things we are grateful for in our lives. Come and share.

Sunday, November 28, 10:30 a.m. First Sunday of Advent
"Great Expectations-The Vision on the Horizon" Rev. Mary Jane Dicus
As we move into the Advent season, the world pauses and takes note of the hope and expectancy that abounds. Hope has been defined in the Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary as "desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in the fulfillment of that desire." Together we will explore our dreams, hopes and expectations for the times we live in, recognizing that we all participate in creating the vision on the horizon.

The Celestial Hierarchy of Scorpio
 | "Scorpio" by Patricia Morrison http://anuartstudio.com/ |
The Celestial Hierarchy of Scorpio rules from Oct.23 to Nov. 22. Known as the Lords of Form, this hierarchy creates patterns we call cosmic thoughtforms. The Lords of Form help our souls perceive a plan, and then the Lords of Karma help us create the right placement, racial background, parents, social status, and other details that shape our personal learning situations.
The Lords of Form challenge us to master our own thoughts, desires, and conflicts. As we see the forms we create, we understand how we can learn to master the mind in order to control and guide our thoughtforms. Part of the challenge presented by the Scorpio power is its intense desire nature. As passion (intensity) empowers thoughtforms, the soul learns to be mindful of its own ability (power) to create and transform. We learn to consider what we are mobilizing. To think before expressing allows us to make choices under the guidance of the conscious mind. Grasping this may be the first step in learning to understand the work of this hierarchy.
We must learn to allow light to banish darkness, to change negatives into positives, to raise the basic nature into high consciousness. The ancient mantra, "Lead us, O Lord, from darkness to light, from the unreal to the real, from death to immortality, from chaos to beauty," is an appropriate prayer to the hierarchy of Scorpio to invoke assistance for transformation.
