The Emancipated Person
The Emancipated Person book cover
By Brenda R. Cutrell, Ph.D.

Emancipation is a state of being that is a stepping-stone towards Life unimaginable to the average person. Yet it no longer should be unimaginable. In fact, it should now be regarded as an achievable goal. The author has strived to put what is a deeply subjective experience for each individual--and yet something very basically impersonal--into a form that is a sort of map of the territory of the condition of spiritual emancipation.

Greetings,

We are busy preparing to welcome "home" our Ministers, Teachers, and Practitioners for our 29th Annual Conference. We come together, as old classmates, and as the newly ordained and certified, to be re-inspired, share the past year's professional accomplishments, and listen to each others plans for next year. It is a time full of significant events; Ordination, Graduation and the special two-day presentation are among the highlights. This year promises to be especially exciting as we introduce the new Dean for Sancta Sophia.

As we stand in the present, we create our future, and we honor our past. To commemorate the Founders and some of the original pioneers of Sparrow Hawk Village, the community will pay tribute at a celebratory dinner in the Community Center during conference week. There are several presentations by conference attendees that you will not want to miss. Continue to check our ever evolving Conference schedule for other essential events.

Sren Hague is this year's special conference presenter. He will lecture on Exploring the Continents of Consciousness -- The Chalice of the Higher We and The Wisdom of the Holotypes on Friday and Saturday, November 12 & 13. Together we will explore the landscapes of consciousness and learn how we can create the group-heart, the group-mind and the group-body of the future.

December brings us a recently added workshop: The Monroe Institute presents An Intensive Weekend Workshop to Expand Your State of Consciousness facilitated by Allyn Evans. Treat yourself to two days of self-exploration in expanded states of consciousness and deep meditation and relaxation based on the work of Bob Monroe's Hemi-sync technology. If you are interested in attending this workshop, email Mary Jane Dicus for more details at mjdicus@sanctasophia.org.

Good news! We will be unveiling next year's highly anticipated class schedule soon in the next Sparrow Hawk Villager. If you do not receive the Villager by mail or email, contact information@sanctasophia.org to be put on our hard copy list, or click on the box Join our Mailing List near the bottom of the left column of this newsletter, type in your email address and make your subscription choice.

We'll see you on campus.

The Chalice of the Higher We

In our evolution as sentient beings, we have been traveling through certain major experiences in the landscape of consciousness. Our journey has brought us from the instinctual-emotional phase to a more and more intellectual-rational stage. From isolated individualism we now seek to regain the connectedness without losing our uniqueness. This crucial phase, the struggle to attain the emerging nature of the new heart-mind group consciousness, is a major spiritual challenge of the 21st Century. How can we create the group-heart, the group-mind and the group-body of the future? How can we together build the Chalice of the Higher We and embody planetary, enlightened compassion? This is our focus and we will explore it through teaching, meditation and group-dynamics.

Saturday, November 13
The Wisdom of the Holotypes
The teaching on the Holotypes is a new integral-esoteric approach to the psychology of The Seven Rays, known from theosophy, the teachings of Alice Ann Bailey and Roberto Assagioli, the founder of psychosynthesis. We will explore the spectrum of consciousness from this new approach, giving renewed understanding, but also practical application to insights that ultimately reveal our Soul Journey, our sacred dharma and the way we can live in the outer world. It is a joyful celebration of the multiplicity of the human nature, the spectrum of life and consciousness, and the need for integral wholeness in the world today. Meditation and group dynamics will be an important part of the teaching.

Consciousness, Cognitive Neuroscience and
Divine Logic Embodiment: Suggestions for
Group Work

By Jon Darrall-Rew

integrated head centers"As long as our brain is a mystery, the universe -- the reflection of the structure of the brain -- will also be a mystery."
-Santiago Ramn y Cajal

From ancient Hermeticism, to Hindu cosmology, Kalachakra Buddhism, and the Trans-Himalayan tradition, one of the foundations of the esoteric system is the teaching that direct correspondences and analogies can be drawn between the mechanism through which the human individual functions, and that through which beings of planetary, solar and cosmic proportion also function. A specific analogy explored in the Bailey literature is between humanity and the planetary Logoic brain. Drawing on contemporary findings in the fields of consciousness science and cognitive neuropsychology, this essay explores this analogy in terms of its applications for group work. It is suggested that in this new age during which the orientation is increasingly oriented toward divine embodiment and integration, such research findings can be greatly efficacious in the worldwide group's work of supporting the Planetary Logos' advancement on the cosmic Path, and the establishment of the Temple of Power on Earth.
