The Emancipated Person
By Brenda R. Cutrell, Ph.D.
Emancipation is a state of being that is a stepping-stone towards Life unimaginable to the average person. Yet it no longer should be unimaginable. In fact, it should now be regarded as an achievable goal. The author has strived to put what is a deeply subjective experience for each individual--and yet something very basically impersonal--into a form that is a sort of map of the territory of the condition of spiritual emancipation.

Greetings,
We welcome you to peruse the list of classes and events that are being offered in our fall session. And please take some time to read the associated thoughtful articles by Douglas Baker and Torkom Saraydarian. Rev. Carol Parrish will be teaching one of her favorite classes, Agni Yoga, with Rev. Roberta Wilkes in just a couple of weeks. Carol brightens as she talks about Agni Yoga, and it's no wonder, Agni is what she considers to be her true path -- a blend of Eastern and Western Traditions. The following weekend, Carol will present Shustah Training, a method and system using symbols for inducing increased sensitivity and greater intuitive awareness. Reverends Margaret Stephens and Brenda Cutrell team up again for their very popular Esoteric Psychology class. This class is taught once every two years, so the class fills fast. Don't delay, register today. And it's not too early to make plans for attending our upcoming Leadership classes and Spiritual Arts Event in October, and the 29th Annual Homecoming and Conference in November. All are welcome to attend the two-day special presentation by Soren Hauge, Ph. D. In this issue, we have included upcoming classes that are being presented by our Sophia Schools of Wisdom. These independent schools, located throughout the U.S., offer some classes that Sancta Sophia honors for credit. Click on their school names to learn more about them. September 27 - October 1 AGNI YOGA, THE 21ST CENTURY WAY Revs. Carol E. Parrish & Roberta Wilkes
A modern approach to spirituality, Agni Yoga emphasizes the daily practice of ethical living, devotion, and purification of our physical, emotional, and mental bodies. Formation and application of a living ethic and development of virtues in the personality are based on a series of themes, not rigid disciplines. Students learn to integrate ideology, theology, and service into their lives. The Agni path affirms the importance of meditation to the work of clearing glamours and illusions to connect to our inner wisdom. Connections of these enigmatic teachings to Kabalah and the Bailey materials will also be explored. 30 CEU's are available for this course, and counselors are invited to attend to earn ethics credit. Symbols may be used to enhance meditation as well as for divination. The class provides connections to archetypal energies and your latent intuition. Leadership By Torkom Saraydarian
The principle of leadership is found in every walk of life. One must have spiritual humility to see where he is on the chain of the evolution. There is the one who is above him and the one who is below him. With one hand he holds the hand above him to raise himself up; with the other hand he pulls up the one below him. And this chain is the chain of leadership. Everyone is a leader, everyone is a follower, and only vanity and self-deceit will curtain the eyes and blind them from seeing this fact. On the path of leadership, one needs education and training. When a man advances from one position to another position, it is like graduating from one class and entering a higher class.

Sunday, November 7, 5:00 PM ORDINATON Light of Christ Community Church Sparrow Hawk Village, Tahlequah, OK - All are Welcome!
Monday - Sunday, November 8 - 14, 2010 29th ANNUAL HOMECOMING AND CONFERENCE
Friday & Saturday November 12 - 13 CONFERENCE PRESENTATION - open to all With Special Guest Presenter: Sren Hauge, Ph.D.
Friday, November 12 The Chalice of the Higher We In our evolution as sentient beings, we have been traveling through certain major experiences in the landscape of consciousness. Our journey has brought us from the instinctual-emotional phase to a more and more intellectual-rational stage. From isolated individualism we now seek to regain the connectedness without losing our uniqueness. This crucial phase, the struggle to attain the emerging nature of the new heart-mind group consciousness, is a major spiritual challenge of the 21st Century. How can we create the group-heart, the group-mind and the group-body of the future? How can we together build the Chalice of the Higher We and embody planetary, enlightened compassion? This is our focus and we will explore it through teaching, meditation and group-dynamics.
Saturday, November 13 The Wisdom of the Holotypes The teaching on the Holotypes is a new integral-esoteric approach to the psychology of The Seven Rays, known from theosophy, the teachings of Alice Ann Bailey and Roberto Assagioli, the founder of psychosynthesis. We will explore the spectrum of consciousness from this new approach, giving renewed understanding, but also practical application to insights that ultimately reveal our Soul Journey, our sacred dharma and the way we can live in the outer world. It is a joyful celebration of the multiplicity of the human nature, the spectrum of life and consciousness, and the need for integral wholeness in the world today. Meditation and group dynamics will be an important part of the teaching. Conference schedule (schedule subject to change)
