Greetings,

community gardenTalk of mysteries!
Think of our life in Nature -
daily to be shown matter,
to come in contact with it -
rocks, trees,
wind on our cheeks.

         The solid earth!

    -  Henry David Thoreau

Our village gardeners are lovingly preparing the soil in their plots and swapping advice about what worked well last year. They nurture tiny seedlings that eventually will produce organic lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, sweet potatoes and squash to be sold at our own Farmers' Market in the community building on Saturday mornings. The Community Association of Sparrow Hawk Village explains that working toward a sustainable future means we must take into consideration the consequences of our actions today. Wise counsel from neighbors with vision.

All are invited to the Light of Christ Community Church Ordination Service on Saturday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. Our seminary classes later in April serve the purpose of training celebrants who want to incorporate more ritual energy into their lives. Rev. Retha Banez facilitates two wonderful weeks of personal and public Sacraments and ceremony. Sandwiched between (on the weekends) is Eucharistic Ministry Training that has become very meaningful for LCCC Practitioners as well as Ministers.

Students in the Rituals course will prepare our Earth Day Celebration for us this year. Everyone is welcome to attend on Thursday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m., remembering "The Earth is our Mother; we must take care of her."

What a great month to Showcase your talent; participate in sacred ceremony; honor the planet; and plant some spiritual seeds in rich soil! See the schedule to the left and below, and contact us for more information.

Blessings,

All the ministers at Light of Christ Community Church

Easter Sunday

"Love Triumphant"
Rev. Robert Willson

Robert Willson Christianity as a world religion probably wouldn't exist if people didn't believe that the resurrection actually took place. Yet, how is it possible to resurrect a dead body? How might we think about the resurrection? What does the resurrection mean for the modern esoteric Christian in an age of scientific realism that seems to exhibit an increased disbelief in the miraculous? This Sunday we will look at the conventional, and some of the non-conventional ideas about what the resurrection might mean for each of us. We may be surprised!

"Values and Illusions...To Believe...or Not"
Rev. Cynthia McGinnis

Cynthia McGinnisAs we each journey along our Spiritual Path, we grow, change, and find new seeds of wisdom. Along the way come many opportunities to adjust, evaluate and re-spin our values, our illusions and the truth as we know it. Is every corner in life a new challenge...or a new adventure? You get to decide. Is this an illusion...or truth?

"All Things in God"

Rev. Peg Willson

Peg WillsonThis is a message about what it means to live "within God." It is a message about how people can live in unity with God and each other within an atmosphere of spiritual freedom. It is also about how the interpretation of religious scripture affects the presentation of truth to an audience. We see wide interpretational differences in today's religious climate. Many of them have historical precedents. How did those differences come about? Do we have common principles that the religious community abides by? What is pantheism, and what does it have to do with New Age religious thought? These are questions we will address in the message.

Officiator: Rev. Sue Van Dyke

"When God Takes the Hedge Down"

Practitioner Sally Muir

Sally MuirAs the light and dark forces interplay in us, we are tested so we can awaken to new life and new activity of the heart, mind and soul. As we follow the stories of Job and others in the Bible, we see the importance of trust in the time of trial.
