"The tremendous
love-light with which the Christ floods the planet each year at Christmas time
is gradually changing the atomic vibration of the earth, and it is this
outpouring of love-light each year which is the real Christmas gift of Christ
to the world. . . The Christ rhythm, throbbing in the earth, will become so
powerful that all unlike vibrations are eliminated; the terrible blight of wars
now separating man from man and nation from nation will no longer be possible."
The Mystery of the
Christos, by Corinne Heline, p. 32
Greetings,
This is a special time at Light of Christ Community Church
as Advent begins and we celebrate the lovely season of Light. At morning
meditation we read the nativity scriptures from The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ, and the familiar story
takes on deeper meaning. At Winter Solstice we celebrate the return of the Sun
(Son) as we dream of the peaceful world the Magi anticipated on that Holy Night,
and Corrine Heline imagined almost fifty years ago. There is expectancy in the
air as we light the Advent candles, collect food for the less fortunate, and
pray for peace on New Year's Eve. We go caroling, have parties, share holiday dinners,
and rejoice in being together as family.
Won't you come visit us for an Advent Sunday, or the
Solstice service, or our beautiful candlelight Christmas Eve celebration? Check
the list of activities to the left and below, and consider joining us to enhance
your own spiritual energy during this sacred season. Since we do not have
classes in December or January, housing is available in the Villa, if you want
to stay a night or two.
On December 26, we begin meditations on the Twelve Days of Christmas every morning
in the chapel through January 6, 2010. If you are not able to attend these in
person, you can follow along with us from your own home. Rev. Carol Parrish has
just completed a 5-CD set of these annual esoteric meditations that make their
way around the zodiac and give insight into your personal year ahead.
May your heart be filled with Joy and Peace during this
Season of Light,
From all the Ministers of Light of Christ Community Church

Sunday, December 6, 10:30 a.m. Second Sunday of Advent Theme - Purification/Preparation
"The Spirit of Purification" Rev. Peggy Eaton
As we approach the Christ manger for the initiation we long to find, we do the work of clearing and cleansing. We do the work that purifies that which stands in the way of being the light, love and service that was modeled for us by Jesus, The Christ. We will work with the healing Christ-Light and energies; we will state our intention to be the blessed Christ qualities in these holy-days of Advent. Prepare Ye the way of the Lord!

Sunday, December 13, 10:30 a.m. Third Sunday of Advent Theme - Joy/Hope
"Joy Settles Within the Heart" Rev. Retha Banez & Rev. Steven Chase
As we move through the Advent season, during the third week, we embrace the joy that settles within our hearts as the Christ spirit comes near. We await the holy birth with joy, hope, and gladness. Join us as we also discuss the meaning of joy esoterically. Master D.K. tells us, "The joy of the soul irradiates my life, and lightens all the burdens which those I meet may carry. The Joy of the Lord is my strength, and I develop strength in joy for others. Let the song of the soul be sounded forth by me, and the clear high notes bring peace and joy to others. My word today is Joy."Officiator: Rev. Steven Chase

Sunday, December 27, 10:30 a.m.
"A New Year Coming...Are Your Friendships in Order?" Rev. Cynthia McGinnis
A new year gives us the opportunity to evaluate many things in our lives. Friendships can be on that list. As we know, friends can come into our lives for a reason, season, or a lifetime. Do you know how to honor that in your friendships? Friends are gifts sent from God. Are you the friend God sent to someone?
