Gr eetings,
We are excitedly working to prepare for our conference attendees and looking forward to greeting old friends, and making new ones.
The Ordination and Practitioner's Certification ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, and the Graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, November 6 with a special guest, Rev. Phillip Cusic. We will have a special evening with Rev. Roberta Wilkes and her one woman show "Come See the Big Waterproof Tent" on Thursday, November, 5. We are looking forward to hearing our conference presenter, Richard Smoley speaking on "Inner Christianity: A Way to Your True Center." Richard has written a new book, The Dice Game of Shiva: How Consciousness Creates the Universe, to be published on the first of November. We plan on having the book here for his book signing.
Due to continued heath issues, I needed to step away from the position of Administrative Dean, and did so on October 16. This will be my last formal contribution to the Light Bearer from that capacity.
Looking forward to seeing you at conference!
Blessings, Linda C. Oliver Administrative Dean

Sunday, Nov. 1, 10:30 a.m. All Saints Day
"The Commandments Re-visited" Rev. Adriaan deVries
We will re-visit the Ten Commandments once more, and reconsider them in relation to our lives: inner and outer. The Ten Commandments are most often, if not always, quoted in terms of external behaviour and application to our actions towards others in the human family. Yet, if you look closely, there are only a few which appear totally externally driven, for example -"Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not steal ." All have more to do with attitude and beliefs than specific external behaviour. Some don't even make much logical sense as a guide, or rule, leading to "better" behaviour. They can be viewed as laying out a suggested guide for the internal work we inherently do to facilitate the higher self's unfolding.

"Home Again, Home Again" Rev. Carol Parrish Harra
Hey, it's good to be back home again. Sometimes this ole place seems like a long lost friend. My buddies, my friends, my interests and my heart are all right here. I take it in, and then having gathered my renewing energy, I fold it all into my Self to take back home to those I likewise love.Officiator: Rev. Katherine Zakutansky

"Be Ye as Little Children" Rev. Peg Willson
Many years ago, I put together a children's message about the teachings of Jesus and how those teachings could relate to the children that now sat around me. Later, I made it into a message for adults. I am again revisiting this message, as its timelessness contains lessons for us in every age and condition. Holy Wisdom is available to us whenever we are willing to open ourselves, and commune with the One. The lessons we have learned in the past can be reapplied to new circumstances and conditions.
Maybe everything you learned in kindergarten is all you need to know.

"May We Be Blessed" Rev. Retha Banez & Rev. Robert Willson
At this time of inner reflection about the many blessings in our lives, our co-pastors invite everyone to come together and celebrate this special Thanksgiving Sunday. What blesses you and makes you feel whole, joyful, and happy to be alive? When you think about what you are grateful for, what comes to mind? Join us as we ponder these and other questions of the season we are entering into, and also receive a holy oil blessing from the pastors.

Sunday, Nov. 29 10:30 a.m. First Sunday of Advent
"Opening to the Future" Rev. Connie Swan
As the season of Thanksgiving comes to a close, the first Sunday of Advent calls our attention to the Future. This pilgrimage into the deepening darkness offers an opportunity to engage with the numinous. How shall we begin our journey into the mystery? Conscious commitment to the process prepares us to embrace expectation and enter fully into the experience of holy waiting.

Inner Christianity: A Way to Your True Center Special Guest Presenter, Richard Smoley
In this workshop, Richard Smoley will give a lively and accessible introduction to the teachings of inner or esoteric Christianty. He'll talk about its history from the days of the Gnostics in antiquity to the Grail tradition, the Kabbalah, and the Rosicrucian brotherhood. He'll describe some of the tradition's key teachings; the inner Christ; the tribune structure of body, soul, and spirit in humanity; the nature of gnosis, or inner illumination; and agape or conscious love. Richard will lead guided meditations to enable participants to experience these truths for themselves.

Love is a Promise, a Discipline, and a Lifestyle - eBook
Love comes, like ice cream, in many flavors, forms and fashions. Always designed to advance our personal growth, it is sometimes painful and sometimes a delight. While we tend to relate love to sexuality, love remains a mystery that can be surprisingly revealed when we discover it's true depth.
"Love is a Promise" is a rich little eBook written by Carol E. Parrish-Harra, noted author and teacher.
