Gr eetings,
Our temperatures have started to cool some, especially at night, and our days are more enjoyable.
Well, I have been looking for an in-home playmate for my corgi, Corky. I found a sweet, eight year old cockerpoo who needed a new home. And then as things usually happen here, four three month old part hound, part blue heeler pups were left in the village. I kept them for a week in my enclosed backyard until our Humane Society had room to take them. Before they were taken to the Society, a friend took one of the males and I fell in love with the runt, female. So, Corky now has two new sisters, Molly and Honey.
Corky, Molly, and Honey
We are looking forward to having Rev. Katherine James, Ph.D. return to the seminary for her Saturday workshop on "Death and Dying." This will be followed by our week-long classes: "Facing Death and Dying with New Awareness" for the morning sessions, and "Coping with Spiritual Emergencies" in the afternoons.
We are getting ready for our 28th Annual Homecoming and Conference, And we are looking forward to having Richard Smoley, our conference speaker, share his insights on "Inner Christianity." Richard will have his new book, The Dice Game of Shiva: How Consciousness Creates the Universe, published by then, and we will have copies available. Looking forward to having you join us to see old friends and meet new ones, and just to have a fun time with each other.
Many blessings, Rev. Linda Oliver Administrative Dean

Sunday, October 4, 10:30 a.m. Feast of St. Francis Sunday
"Bless Our Creatures and Those Who Love Them" Practitioner Mary Jane Dicus
As we celebrate the life of St. Francis of Assisi, we are being called to remember our role as caretakers of the Earth's creatures. How bountiful are the blessings we enjoy because of our loving animal companions, who share our lives and serve as our teachers and beloveds. Where will this relationship take us as we head into the Aquarian Age?

Sunday, October 11, 10:30 a.m. "Five Percent...Oh My!" Rev. Robert Willson
We are told that our conscious mind controls the "self" five percent of the time. Furthermore, the conscious mind has only one millionth of the power of the subconscious mind. The conscious mind easily embraces new ideas that are aligned with its spiritual ideals. But, the subconscious mind is more like an automaton, and although it is very good at running existing programs, it has limited capacity for new creative thought. What can the aspirant do to change undesirable, unconscious programming so behavior can be up leveled to ones spiritual ideals?Officiator: Rev. Bonita Plymale

"Be Free . . ." Rev. Bonita Plymale
As we progress on the spiritual path, we are asked to put down some of the things we are carrying in our lives. We must free our hands to aid the work of the Christ. We often say: "my hands are full" or "my hands are tied." What burdens might we relinquish to be free to take up the joyous purpose of the Plan? In the words of St. Theresa of Avila, "Christ has no body now but ours. No hands, no feet on earth but ours."

"Is the Whole World Really a Stage?" Rev. Roberta Wilkes
Is the whole world really a stage? Shakespeare said it was. And students of wisdom and esoteric thought "know" they have played many parts as they go through the experience of living their lives. What parts have you played? By the way, there are no small parts.

Love is a Promise, a Discipline, and a Lifestyle - eBook
Love comes, like ice cream, in many flavors, forms and fashions. Always designed to advance our personal growth, it is sometimes painful and sometimes a delight. While we tend to relate love to sexuality, love remains a mystery that can be surprisingly revealed when we discover it's true depth.
"Love is a Promise" is a rich little eBook written by Carol E. Parrish-Harra, noted author and teacher.
