GrLinda Olivereetings,
As you may realize, it tends to be very quiet in the Village when we do not have the activity of classes or special events. We have many homes decorated with lovely lights for the holidays. We have been celebrating the Twelve Days of Christmas from December 26 until January 6. Although we do this every year, I seem to have a new appreciation, or I am hearing something new this year.

Many Blessings to you as you start your journey into 2009.
Rev. Linda Oliver

Epiphany Sunday

Gifts, Gifts and More Gifts
Rev. Linda Oliver

Linda OliverThe Feast of Epiphany marks the culmination of the twelve Holy Days and commemorates the coming of the Three Wise Men to lay their three gifts at the feet of the Christ Child. Come and let us explore our manifestation of our Christed being. What are our gifts? The service will close with a blessing for each as we start our journey through the New Year.

Discipleship is Now Open
Rev. Carol E. Parrish

bw cepFrom ancient times disciples existed more or less hidden. They kept quiet to avoid persecution: detection often meant death. Hermits went to hills, forests or deserts to be alone, safe and simple. Kabalists built private spaces in attics or basements. Those seeking more structured practices went to monasteries or convents. The Piscean Era and the coming of Christ Jesus brought a more open style to the public. Eastern Gurus and their disciples had been more open in speaking of the expanded reality they had discovered. As each age is a turning point in some way, the Avatar of the Piscean energies suggested we are all sons and daughters of the most high.

Marilyn SzokoIn a CNN poll Americans were asked, "Of what entity do you consider yourself a citizen?" 15% named the states they resided in, 61% named the United States and 24% said "I am a citizen of the world." What implications does this have for peace, justice, and prosperity in our world? Do statistics really mean anything? How does America really stack up to other countries? Is this the Plan working out in our time? Rev. Peggy explores these issues in the light of scripture, tradition, reason and our experience.

A Little Yeast...

Rev. Peggy Eaton

Rev. Peggy EatonIt doesn't take much yeast to make the whole batch of bread dough rise. What is in us that aids the expansive, positive nature of ourselves, our environment, our mood, our relationships? What are we feeding in us? Yeast requires a little sugar to work!! We will explore what ingredients we are adding to our recipe of life in order to rise...to ascend...to create a warm and loving environment in which to grow and learn.

There are two ways to live your life.

One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.
