GrLinda Olivereetings,
Conference was just wonderful this year to visit with friends, old and new. For those who hold the work here at the church and school, it renews our energy when you come back for Homecoming.

We are finishing up loose ends after conference, working on next year's class schedule and getting prepared for the Advent season. We have so many beautiful services during Christmas week and into the beginning of the New Year. Call us if you are interested in spending some time with us. We have a place for you in the Villa.

May you be a blessing and be blessed during this holy season.

A Very Merry Christmas!
Rev. Linda Oliver

Second Sunday of Advent
Holy-days! Get Ready for Company!
Rev. Peggy Eaton

peg eatonThe focus of this Second Sunday in Advent is Purification or Preparation. We go through times of clearing and cleaning for the guest (or, is that quest?) when we are inviting someone into our homes for the Holy-days. This Sunday, we will share our techniques, rituals and methods we use for clearing and acknowledging the Christ Spirit Presence. We will prepare our inner levels of self-preparing the inner manger and sweep off the threshold. Rejoice!

Officiator: Rev. Linda Oliver
Communion: Rev. Retha Banez
Hierarchy/Offertory: Rev. Bonita Plymale
Pianists: Rev. Roberta Wilkes/Doris Pass

Sunday, December 14, 10:30 AM
Third Sunday of Advent
Comfort and Joy
Rev. Bonita Plymale

Bonita Plymale 150x111Often in the nativity scene, shepherds and the angels are used to illustrate the expression of joy; telling us to "Rejoice in the coming of the Christ." Joy is truly all around us, and our celebration of Advent calls us to discover it today-and every day. The quiet that comes in the stillness of our meditations at this important time of year allows us the luxury of taking a step back from the hustle and bustle of everyday chores and holiday demands. We are encouraged to view the BIG Picture and appreciate how fortunate we are to live in this time and this place in history. We can know comfort and joy, and we can hold that vision for All.

Officiator: Rev. Retha Banez
Communion: Rev. Peggy Eaton

Hierarchy Meditation/Offertory: Rev. Pamela Ramsfield
Pianists: Rev. Roberta Wilkes/Doris Pass

Sunday, December 21, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Fourth Sunday of Advent
Winter Solstice Celebration
Planetary Magic
Rev. Carol E. Parrish, Rev. Retha Banez, Rev. Robert Willson, and Rev.Tom Simota

Illuminated Globe - EuropeThe cosmic festival is too great to be anchored on the physical, but each culture has evolved ways to acknowledge the relationship between dimensions. Winter Solstice is a gateway to wonder. Magic brings opportunity to each of us to become more than we have been. A true celebration awaits; can we be conscious of what is happening?

Communion: Rev. Tom Simota (within service)
Hierarchy/Offertory: Rev. Steven Chase
Pianists: Rev. Roberta Wilkes/Doris Pass

Note: This celebration begins at 10:00 AM and has a different theme and format than our usual schedule.

Living Our Spiritual Tenets in the New Year

Rev. Retha Banez

Reath Banez in white 150x113As we head into the new year, it is a wonderful time to explore the depth and meaning of each of our church tenets in which we live and worship. It isn't the one, but the many, that makes us a spiritual family of dedicated worshipers. Let's explore what we believe and commit ourselves to as a church family.

Come and join Rev. Banez and Rev. Willson in a special service re-dedicating ourselves to the principles we share. We invite you to be a voice of one of the tenets and share what it means in your life.

Officiator: Rev. Robert Willson
Communion: Rev. Robert Willson

Hierarchy/Offertory: Rev. Connie Swan
Pianists: Rev. Roberta Wilkes/Doris Pass

A gift is pure when it is given from the heart
to the right person at the right time and at the right place,
and when we expect nothing in return.
