Spring has come to Oklahoma with many heavy rains and thunderstorms. We love being here on the top of Sparrow Hawk Mountain to view the storms coming in from many different counties. Most of the tree blossoms are gone. In their place, beautiful spring green leaves seem to appear over night. The hummingbirds are here in full force now. A few weeks ago a scout appeared, and then three and now about eight were on the feeders this morning.
This year we have two Taurus full moons. We just celebrated the wonderful Wesak Festival with our Ritual and Sacrament students participating with our community members. On May 19 we will celebrate a second Taurus full moon, commonly called a "blue moon" because it is a rare occurrence, (you know, once in a blue moon).
Carol and travelers are off to Turkey for most of the month. We will miss their energy in the village, but know they will have an exciting and knowledgeable adventure. We are looking forward to their stories when they return.
Our travelers will return in time for Graduate Trimester II, when Nancy Macdonald, MSW will present "The Human Validation Process." Following our grad week, DaEl Walker will present a weekend workshop on using "power tools" for healing. He is bringing a crystal skull, "Rainbow," for us to observe. His special slide show presentation on Sunday, June 1, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm will give us a view of the inside of the skull. DaEl is available for private appointments.
If you would like to join us, call 800.386.7161 or contact the Registrar. I am looking forward to seeing you here with us soon.
Many Blessings,
Rev. Linda Oliver Administrative Dean

Sunday, May 4th, 10:30 AM Ascension Sunday
"The Meaning of Pilgrimage"
Rev. Carol E. Parrish
With pilgrimage on our mind, let's look at how our journey through a physical life is that of a soul experiencing incarnation. We come in to go uphill and down, win and loose, celebrate and grieve. When on a trip in the group, we form a group mind and each one's experience belongs to all the group. We experience differently but we can learn from one another. Someone once said, "A wise man learned from his experience." Another wiser one said, "No, a wise one learns from the experiences of others." While both hopefully are true, we will ponder the journey and join our hearts and minds as we do.

Sunday, May 11th, 10:30 AM Pentecost/Mothers Day
"Holy Mother, Holy Spirit" Rev. Marjorie Stuth
Pentecost is a Greek word that means "fifty days." It originally referred to a religious feast observed 50 days after Passover, on which the Jewish people thanked God for the wheat harvest.
Today, we celebrate Pentecost 50 days after Easter to commemorate the day God sent the Holy Spirit upon the faithful and gave birth to a system of worship and teaching, we call Christianity.
Today, we also honor "Mothering." In our society mothering is often done by both parents. Each has an important work to do with their children. Thus, Mother's Day and Father's Day are honored as one expression of love. As you leave today each person will receive an expression of love. Happy Mother's-Father's Day!

Trinity Sunday
"Is It I Lord" Rev. Roberta Wilkes
We see much need around us. We want to serve. We are anxious to hear the call. But in this fast-paced age of mass comunication, how can we be certain the call we hear is for us? Is it really I, Lord?

Sunday, May 25th, 10:30 AM Memorial Sunday
"To Make Sacred"
Rev. Pamela Ramsfield
The tradition of Memorial Day is to set aside time to reflect on loved ones who have died as well as to honor those who have died in war time service. As our minds go through the activity of highlighting the attributes our loved ones carried, this remembering gives an added value to their life lived. In reflecting on those who have touched our lives it is meaningful to look toward our own life and observe how the unique set of experiences we have gathered are ours to lovingly and willingly give in service to one another. We will explore the ways "to make sacred" the living of the life.

This course will examine the teachings of Virginia Satir and how they relate to and enhance her wish to achieve "Peace within, Peace between, Peace among". Satir, at the age of five, decided to become "a children's detective on parents". She wanted to make sense of all the contradictions, deletions and distortions she observed in the relationships around her. We will examine the tools she developed to enhance self-esteem, which is the most important factor affecting behavior. A pioneer in working with human systems, she included physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects in her work with individuals, families, and groups. We will look at ways to deal with the chaos accompanying change as we meet personal and world challenges.$500. 15 CEU hours for LCSW, ACSW, LPC, LMFT, CADC, LADC, LCSW and ACSWsee guest instructor bio May 24, 25, 31 WELLNESS GUIDE PROGRAM Wellness of Body Director, Linda Oliver, RN
