Dear Light Bearers,

The "new year" started with powerful energies during Holy Week, as we celebrated the Spring Equinox and the esoteric Easter, the Full Moon of Aries, on Good Friday, March 21. Easter Sunday was sunny (if not warm!) as it came earlier than it has in 95 years!

Aries TulipNow as nature begins to bloom and the songbirds slowly return to serenade us, we look toward Wesak Festival and celebrate the richness of ritual in our lives. The Seminary schedule for April begins with a workshop that looks at play as a spiritual practice. The next two weeks highlight Rituals and Sacraments. Further enrichment is provided for those already certified as lay practitioners or ordained as ministers by Light of Christ Community Church on the weekend between the two classes mentioned above and directly following the Sacraments class in Lay Eucharistic Ministry Training. This exciting program is offered for those who wish to broaden their service to others through the sacrament of communion. If any of this looks interesting to you, see the details below and contact us for more information.

Feel like getting out and enjoying the dogwood and redbud trees? The Aries energies of new beginnings and rebirth are calling us all. We would love to have you join us some Sunday morning at Light of Christ Community Church. And if you want to arrive on Saturday and spend the night, give us a call or send an email to registrar@sanctasophia.org; we'll see what is available. We are adventlooking forward to your visit this year!

Blessings,

"Starting Small"
Rev. Peggy Willson

Peg W

Rev. Peggy Willson shares her insights on the expansion of consciousness with an analogy based on the parables of the mustard seed and the leavening of bread with yeast. We will explore being non-judgmental about ourselves and others in regard to our level of consciousness, as well as how our faith can help us to expand our consciousness.

"Don't Rain on My Parade!"
Rev. Retha Banez

adventAt some point in our awakening process we go through a difficult stage when we suddenly realize we no longer "fit" into the life we have been living. As these expansions of consciousness occur, veils are lifted. A whole new world opens before our very eyes. As we change, our family, friends, and spouses may no longer relate to the person we are becoming. On this Sunday, Rev. Banez explores this topic and invites us to share some of our journey.

"Return of the Buddha"
Staff Ministers

BuddhaAll are invited to join us for the Wesak Festival, the second of three major spiritual festivals during the year. We celebrate Wesak as an actual event occurring each year at the full moon of Taurus with the return of the Buddha, who blesses humanity with an outpouring of his wisdom and light. His brother, the Christ, representing love, receives the energy and distributes it to all present. A commitment is made to contain this energy for the next thirty days, until the Festival of Humanity, or the Christ Festival. Come be part of this sacred ritual of power. Together, may we receive and retain the high and holy energy for the blessing of humanity.

"The Beauty of Gnosis"
Rev. Carol Parrish
Annointing Ritual of Lay Eucharistic Ministers

adventGnosis, meaning "to know," is a most intimate term and is rapidly becoming an intriguing term to the body of active seekers our society is creating. Few know its depth and all that it can mean to the individual and to the collective. "Beauty," likewise, is a quality too often applied superficially. We come to know that each abides in the other. So join us as we explore these rich terms and discover the underlying meanings that connect them.

SOPHIA'S PLAYSHOP: Celebrating the Right Brain
Rev. Connie Swan
Play is perhaps the least-recognized of the Divine Feminine's expressions. Too much left-brain focus can cause us to crystallize into predictability, to allow busy-ness to slide into workaholism, to get stuck in being serious. Your face really can freeze that way! Come experience the possibilities of play as spiritual practice. We'll co-create a safe, sacred space where we can let go of the need to do things "properly" and allow Sophia's playful creative energy to flow. Spiritual exploration can be joyful and fun.

CHURCH SACRAMENTS: Tools of the Spirit
Rev. Marjorie Stuth and Rev. Retha Banez
Gain a deeper understanding of the sacraments as a means to more fully connect with divine love and inspiration. PASSAGES TO THE SOUL OF ADULTHOOD
Jenny Roberts, MDiv, LADC, RMT

Maturity does not occur just because we reach a certain chronological age. It takes place as we navigate the various passages that lead us nearer and nearer to the domain of our soul. Based on the book The Soul of Adulthood, this workshop will explore many of these passages. Each participant will discover in which passages they may be having difficulties and learn skills to enhance their ability to learn and grow from these passages on their journey to maturity and the soul of adulthood.

POWER HEALING
DaEL Walker

Crystalotherapy is a simple system of energy healing which creates maximum results in a minimum of time. Most people will experience pain reduction in 15 minutes or less. Our methods use direct pulsing of energy into the problem area, indirect charging of the organs or systems through the bioenergy meridians and the power of the mind to send energy directly to the mind of the patient. $100, or register for both DaEL Walker workshops (May 30 & 31) for only $125
