We have been participating for several years now and the products are excellent quality. Your contribution will be used for our school's art program. Last year the profits helped to buy a wonderful printing press. This year we will buy a class set of cameras and two potter's wheels. Buying such costly equipment cannot be done without your support!  Deadline for returning the form, artwork, and check is Oct.20. Checks should be made out to ESK. Volleyball
Woohoo Varsity Girls!
The Varsity Volleyball Team last night became the first ESK volleyball team in its history to finish the regular season undefeated. The girls defeated the teams of Temple and Berean, with Elise Walker serving a 19-point game. On Saturday, Oct. 10, ESK will host the Varsity Volleyball Tournament.  The varsity girls will be the  top seed in the tournament.. Go Saints! They will receive a "bye" for the first round of the tournament and will play about noon on Saturday.
.
The ESK JV Volleyball Team did us proud in both its regular season and tournament this week. After a 6-8 season, the team lost to King's Academy (the eventual winner) and then to  St. John Neumann in a tough match, placing fourth in the league. "It was our most successful season ever. The girls played with so much heart. They really focused on the fundamentals, on being able to serve and pass the ball," said JV Coach Jacque Clem.
Team member Kathryn Saliba showed mettle as a team leader. She was named an All-League Player, All-Tournament Player, and the KISL JV Small Division Tournament MVP. "What a contribution Katherine Saliba made. I'm just so proud of her," said Coach Clem.

Katherine Saliba named MVP!

Varsity Tournament
Saturday, Oct. 10, ESK is hosting the Varsity Volleyball Tournament.  The varsity girls are currently undefeated and are hoping for a top seed. Go Saints! Tough home matches this week vs Webb (Wednesday) and Berean and Temple (Thursday).  If the girls take care of business, then we will receive a "by" for the first round of the tournament and will play about noon on Saturday.

Cross Country
Three Saints runners will represent us at the Tennessee State Middle School Meet on Oct. 24 at Victor Ashe Park.  They are Kate Stapp, to run at 11; Myles Rasnick, to run at 11:25; and Kayley Rasnick, to run at 12:40. The 2009 Cross Country Team (3rd-8th) ended on another wet note on Tuesday. In its last meet as a team for the 2009 season, the runners were splashing through puddles of mud and hoping not to slip on the down-hills. Since there was a mix up of timing due to the rain, we did not have the FULL team (of 43) running. Still, many runners raced their hearts out and improved GREATLY from their first meet a month and half ago. Congrats to our Saints!!!

Tennis
B Teams
The Saints had another successful week at the "B" level of Middle School Tennis! They played against one of the CAK teams and won all four courts 32-12.
Connor Hill played court 1 singles and won 8-0, Hannah McCormack played court 2 singles and won 8-6, Sam Moore Sullivan & Emily Thompson played court 1 doubles and won BIG, 8-0 and for the perhaps most dramatic win of the day, was Fisher Morton & Maggie MacKenzie on court 2 doubles coming from behind 2-4 to win 8-6.  It was an exciting day for the players!
C Team Purple won all four courts in matches with St Josephs 24-8
Ian Greeley and Chadwic Feddersenk won 6-2; Kate Schumaker and Kyle Wehrenberg won 6-1; Turner Colocotronis won 6-2; Trey King won 6-3

C Teams
The C teams lost in some heartbreaking tie breakers. They played tough teams and really hung in there! Congrats to Ian Greeley on winning his singles match. Congrats to Wyatt McAlister and Austin Hoffarth for winning their doubles matches.

Congratulations Volleyball Teams!

Sincerely,
