With race season right around the corner and your new bike setting in the shop, why not upgrade your top end to Wiseco? Ready to ship are pistons for the 2009 Honda CRF450R. These pistons are a 13:1 high compression model and are skirt coated with Wiseco's ArmorGlideŽ coating.

ArmorGlideŽ is a permanent skirt coating that will not simply wear off after break-in.

Not only is ArmorGlideŽ a high-tech lubricant that reduces friction, but it also allows the piston to be fitted tighter within the bore than a non-coated piston. The benefit of reducing piston to wall clearance is better ring seal and reduced noise from piston rock.

Wiseco has just released a new series of pistons designed to fill the needs of today's big cubic inch Sportsman series engines. Designed with input from leading engine builders and racers, Wiseco has created a line of pistons typically reserved to custom orders only- Wiseco's new Big Block Chevy Drag Race Quick 16 pistons.

Being on the cutting edge of forged piston technology allows Wiseco to produce dedicated forgings in-house and to manufacture pistons with the extreme, light weight durability that is expected from today's modern day engines. Available off the shelf, these pistons will keep you running and in the race in both single pistons and kits.

The new design of these pistons are manufactured and designed with fortified pin bosses, maximized ring lands, reinforced decks, extra deep valve pockets, and dedicated skirt shapes- all ready to handle the shock loads of modern day power adders and horsepower levels. Dome profiles are designed to accommodate conventional heads from the leading manufacturers in the industry. Profiles and valve pockets will accept most "rolled" cylinder head mods that are so popular today. These profiles are also designed to maintain proper flame travel and quench while achieving the compression ratio's needed for today's exotic fuels. The piston also features anti-detonation grooves, 15 degree "Pro Stock" pressure seal grooves, vertical gas ports, ArmorGlideŽ skirt coatings, and a newly designed "clean sheet of paper" forging.

Wiseco supports many racing series through the AMA throughout the year. In 2008, our efforts supported AMA Dragbike, AMA Supercross, AMA Arenacross, and AMA Outdoor Motocross by taking part in the contingency programs. This is just another way Wiseco gives back to professional and amateur racing. For example, Wiseco paid over $1500 in contingency for AMA Dragbike during the 2008 season.

Wiseco is also a sponsor of the GNCC series, Monstertruck Nationals, the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, and many other professional and amateur events throughout the year.

    Jeff Clarkin has been at Wiseco for just over 14yrs and is currently our Special Products Division Coordinator. Jeff can help create your custom 2 or 4 cycle Powersports piston detailed for your application. He has worked in many areas at Wiseco including manufacturing.

    When not at Wiseco, Jeff enjoys racing his 300HP + turbo charged Suzuki Hayabusa. He has 12yrs experience drag racing motorcycles, 7yrs experience road racing bikes, and 3yrs Land Speed Racing. He also enjoys riding his motocross bike in the woods or at local events. You can also find him building custom Harley Davidson motorcycles or working on a turbo charged sport compact cars.

    Jeff enjoys barbequing, hanging out with friends, music, and shooting fire arms when not at Wiseco. When the weather is nice, you can find him at the beach or working in the garage. Jeff is a great addition to our sales staff and is always willing to help with a custom order.
    Wiseco is now offering small batch customs for a limited time on 2 and 4 cycle powersports! Currently we are offering 12 piece minimums on all 2-cycle and 8 piece minimums on all 4-cycle for a 3 week manufacturing lead time on both. Additonal time is required for anodizing, skirt coating, and electroless nickel plating, but now you can have your Wiseco custom pistons in less time.     Avalance Racing's Derek Ellis had some fantastic heats at the ISOC Snowcross National at Canterbury Park. He placed 3rd in the Semi-Pro Stock and Semi- Pro Open. Also teammate and new recruit, Kyle Fiebelkorn, had a phenomonal run in the Sport Super Stock #2. After qualifying for the final, he picked off the competition and ended with a 3rd place finish! Junior rider, James Johnstad, won all heats and final for the Junior 14-15 class. Congratulations on your hard work!

    Wiseco's new 'Quick 16' series pistons are taking off! Our customer, Advanced Product Design, just completed a dyno test on a 622 Big Block Chevy with a conventional style Brodix "Head Hunter" head equipped with a case Brodix intake manifold and single 1250cfm carb. Without any fancy tricks- oxygenated fuels, coatings, etc.- the engine made 1196 horsepower and 925 ft. lbs. of torque on 118 octane Sonoco race fuel. The crew at Advanced Product Design are certain our new 'Quick 16' piston has played a role in seeing these record numbers. The crew plans to replace the cam with one that will be a better fit. They are certain that with the proper camshaft and further tuning, the engine will be able to make 1210 or more horsepower during the next dyno test.
