March Update

topInterviews with Gil Bailie...
Randy Coleman-Riese
From the Cornerstone Forum Executive Director,
Randy Coleman-Riese

Dear Friends,

Just at the time when we were looking for ways to broaden our audience exposure in order to broaden our base of support we have been given opportunities to substantially realize this goal. Please read on to see how you can help us...

Recently the Ignatius Press on-line magazine, Ignatius Insight, published an interview with Gil Bailie entitled "A Roamin' Catholic and the Cultural Crisis" .
Through the good offices of our co-worker and friend at Catholics for the Common Good, Bill May, this has providentially turned into the impetus for an invitation to appear on the EWTN Global Catholic Radio Network program "The Good Fight" hosted by Barbara McGuigan - Saturday March 7th. This program is broadcast live in the following US time zones:

Eastern 2pm-4pm
Central 1pm-3pm
Mountain 12pm-2pm
Pacific 11am-1pm

We encourage all of those on our email list to take a look at the Ignatius interview (link above) and also to tune in to the live radio program if possible (here is a link to the EWTN Radio network list of local stations). If you are unable to receive the broadcast radio signal in your area it will still be possible to listen to the program live via streaming audio over the internet at the following web link:

EWTN Radio Network - Listen On-Line

Additionally, the program will be broadcast on the Sirius satellite radio network's channel 160.

In most areas the format of the 2 hour program involves both the host Barbara McGuigan's interview with Gil as well as a listener call-in segment. However, in some local radio stations only the first hour is aired. We also encourage those who either will be listening via on-line streaming audio or whose local stations air the entire two hour program and who would like to help further our work to call during the listener call-in segment and ask questions of Gil and perhaps express your appreciation for his work. The toll free listener call-in number is 877-573-7825.

Gil will need to make some adjustments to the Emmaus Road Initiative schedule in Seattle to accommodate the radio program. Our very helpful hosts there have rescheduled his ERI presentation to 2pm on Saturday the 7th.

Matching Grant Update...

Last month we announced that we had received a matching grant of $10,000 from a donor who wishes to help us develop our base of support by encouraging donations from new donors, increased giving above prior year levels of current donors and donations from those who have not contributed in the past two years.

We have until the end of September to meet this goal, however in the past month we have received almost $2,500 that qualifies for the grant. For this we are very grateful. We have no illusions regarding the difficulty that raising support during these trying times presents. And both Gil and I will be doing all we can to complete the Emmaus Road Initiative series through May as we look for support for new and more effective ways to do the work to which we are called.

If you are able please consider making a tax deductible donation to our work, even if you can only afford $5, and especially if your gift would help us meet our matching grant goal. You may make a donation on our web site with your credit card here, or mail a check to our address below.

February ERI MP3 file and CDs...

I will have last month's free ERI downloadable MP3 audio file up on our web site early this week along with the CD of the February session which may be purchased for $8 + S/H. We also hope to have the free streaming audio option available soon as well. And remember, anyone who becomes a monthly donor either via check or recurring credit card charge at the $20/month level or above will receive complimentary mailed copies of the ERI CDs as they are produced. If you would like to support our work in this way you may click on the link in the paragraph above this, or contact me at the address/email/phone number below.

The recommended book page of our web site has been expanded recently and currently features books that Gil mentions in the Ignatius Insight interview.

The interviews mentioned above are exciting new opportunities to reach a much larger audience than we would have thought possible even a month ago. For this and for much more we see the effect of the prayers of all those who hold our work as well as Gil and me before the Lord. We ask that you continue to pray for the fruitfulness of our efforts and the blessings of health and safe travel as Gil begins the sixth monthly ERI traveling road show in the current series.

In gratitude,

Randy Coleman-Riese

A Message from Gil Bailie
Gil Bailie

Dear Friends,

The BIG NEWS this month is the opportunity presented in the interviews Randy detailed in his note above. I will be juggling even more than usual this month which will be a challenge for my skills in this regard.

Meanwhile, I look forward to seeing as many as possible at the sessions this month. A heads-up: there is an addition to the schedule in Houston (we're adding a second presentation) and, as Randy mentioned, an adjustment to accommodate the EWTN Radio interview in Seattle - moving the presentation from 10am to 2pm on March 7th. Click on the links for details.

Thanks for everything.

The topic for this month's Emmaus Road Initiative is:

"Why did it take the Ressurection to save us?"

The March Emmaus Road Initiative Sessions:

And remember that there are two changes this month, in Houston, Texas and Seattle, Washington. See the details by clicking on the sites.

Thank you so much for your interest in our work and for helping to make it possible.

With affection and gratitude,

Gil Bailie
