With your help, our work can continue to bear fruit.

Dear Friends,
Despite the impersonal medium of an email newsletter, I am writing to you as a friend and as a collaborator in the urgent effort to bear witness in this distracted and spiritually lethargic world of ours to the religious sources of hope that alone are capable of revitalizing our weary civilization and providing our children with the spiritual and moral foundation for a meaningful and fulfilling life.
The Cornerstone Forum represents one small effort to meet this challenge, and it is you who make it possible by your prayers and generosity.
As you probably know by now, the current economic downturn is taking quite a toll on non-profit organizations like ours. We are responding to the financial setbacks by undertaking a number of innovations which we feel will enhance our efforts and improve our effectiveness.
The first of these changes is the renovation of our website, making it more user-friendly and enabling us to take advantage of several new technologies that will increase our effectiveness at minimal cost, including: streaming audio, short YouTube clips, easy audio downloads, podcast subscriptions, and so on.
Even as we explore less costly ways of carrying out our mission, however, we remain convinced of the value of the Emmaus Road Initiative project, and our immediate challenge is to complete the remaining five months of this year's program and plan for perhaps a more modest ERI program beginning in the fall. We are tightening our belts and cutting back wherever possible, but cost-cutting efforts alone will not be enough. We need help from our friends.
So, the first website improvement I hope you will check out is our new simple and safe tax-deductible
donations page. If you can make a donation before the
end of the year, we will be most appreciative, and we will promptly
send along an acknowledgement so that you can deduct your donation from
your 2008 income taxes. To make a one-time donation click on this link:
If you are able to make a monthly donation, even a small one -- five or ten dollars a month -- we would be especially grateful. (Monthly donations can be easily canceled at any time.) As an expression of our gratitude, we will mail complimentary CDs of the monthly ERI talks to those who make monthly donations of $15 or more. To make a monthly donation click on this link:
Whatever adjustments we may be forced to make due to budgetary constraints, we remain committed to our mission and deeply grateful to those who make it possible.
Thank you so much for your support. Please keep us in your prayers.
May the new year bring us only those difficulties that deepen our faith, enrich our lives, and make us more trustworthy witnesses.
Gil Bailie
