VOTE TO AMEND CONSTITUTION
Greetings!

A special congregational meeting has been scheduled by the Board of Directors to be held on Tuesday, March 27, at 7:30pm for the sole purpose of proposing and voting on two amendments to the CSI Constitution. See below for specifics. We hope to see you there.

Vote on the following amendment:


 

AMENDMENT ONE: Move to amend the Congregation Sons of Israel Constitution to grant BOTH husband and wife in a family membership in good standing and a senior couple in good standing full individual voting rights.

 

EXPLANATION: Current Constitution allows for a SINGLE VOTE per family membership in good standing and senior couple in good standing to be cast by EITHER spouse. If amended, EACH spouse would have a vote.

 

Propose the following amendment:


 

AMENDMENT TWO: Move to amend the Congregation Sons of Israel Constitution to permit sale of grave sites in the Sons of Israel cemetery to the extended family of members in good standing, according to requirements and pricing of current by-laws.

 

EXPLANATION: Current Constitution allows for free grave site for members in good standing and sale of grave sites to Jewish relatives of members who years ago purchased deeded family plots. Current by-laws dictate burial qualifications and sales prices.

All Congregation members-in-good standing are urged to participate. Current constitution calls for a single vote to be cast by either spouse of a family in good standing. Ballots must be cast in person.
