+ Assistant Bishop Keith B. Whitmore will lead a vestry retreat for St. Augustine's, Morrow, on Saturday, Dec. 4, in Morrow.
+ Bishop of Atlanta J. Neil Alexander will visit the Church of Christ the King, Lilburn, on Sunday, Dec. 5. He will preside at the 10:30 a.m. worship service and confirm six new members. Christ the King is at 4800 Lawrenceville Highway. The Rev. John Sewak Ray is rector.
+ Bishop Whitmore will visit Church of the Advent, Madison, on Sunday, Dec. 5. He will confirm or receive three people. Worship sevices will be at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The "Big Breakfast" reception begins at 8:50 a.m. The church is at 338 Academy St.
+ Bishop Whitmore will preside at a Renewal of Ministry and the Welcome of a Rector at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at St. Timothy's, Decatur. The Rev. Harold Lockett was called recently as full-time rector.
+ Bishop Alexander will meet with clergy of the Northeast Georgia Convocation at noon Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Emmanuel Church, Athens. The Noonday Office will be followed by lunch and a program on the proposed Anglican Covenant and other topics of current interest.

A 'life-changing weekend'

Parochial reports to arrive in parish mailboxes next week
Parish leaders and administrators should take note that 2010 Parochial Reports will be shipped to individual church offices next week from the Episcopal Church Center in New York. Online filing of these reports begins Jan. 4. Besides the parochial report, each individual packet will contain a card with the UEID and PIN that pertains to each church, as well as a letter and instruction sheet. Please note that the workbooks for help in filling out the report are available online and won't be included in the packet. + FOUNDATIONS IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION. Applications are due Dec. 10 for the two-year Foundations in Christian Education certification course offered by the Diocese of Atlanta. The course is open to anyone and is particularly directed toward persons directly responsible for Christian education in a parish. + The Renewal of Ministry and the Welcoming of a New Rector for the Rev. Harold Lockett and the people of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, Decatur, is at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at the church, 2833 Flat Shoals Road, Decatur. Bishop Keith Whitmore will preside. Lockett recently accepted a call as full-time rector at St. Timothy's. All are welcome.
+ The Rev. Lori Lowe, previously rector at St. Marks, LaGrange, is to begin duties as interim rector at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, Wilmette, Ill. For the past two years, she was interim rector at St. Margaret's Church in Annapolis, Md. She and her husband, retired priest Bill McLemore, will be moving to Illinois in January. |

+ CRÉCHE EXHIBIT. The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Atlanta, will exhibit more 250 nativity scenes from around the world today (Dec.1) through Sunday, Dec. 5. Many of the créches are accompanied by scriptural quotes and hymn texts. Admission is $5 for adults; $4 for seniors and students, and children under 12 are free.
