HELLO FROM LAURA
Autumn is a time for gathering and preparing for winter. It marks the beginning of a cycle of turning inward.
It is a good time for cleansing your body and clearing your space. It is especially important to keep your lungs and large intestine clear at this time. These organs play an important role in ridding the body of toxins and maintaining optimum health.
While enjoying the fall colors and cool temperatures, breathe fresh air deeply into your lungs and eat foods rich in fiber to clear and cleanse your intestines.
|MIND: STOP COMPLAINING
We all complain. The weather is lousy. The neighbors are thoughtless. The price is too high. The kids are slobs. The boss is a jerk. The freeway's a mess. etc.
Most of us feel when we're complaining we're just speaking our minds. When we complain we are focusing on what is wrong with our lives instead of what's right. We can also use complaints as excuses. "It's too hard"
In his new book "A Complaint Free World," Reverend Will Bowen writes, "If you are saying things like 'Everyone in my family is fat,' 'I'm not coordinated', 'My father told me I'd never amount to anything,' you are making yourself a victim. Victims don't become victors. You can choose which you want to be."
Complaining undermines your health. It creates stress in your life. According to Forbes, all of the seven top-selling drugs in the United States are for illnesses exacerbated by stress. Americans are so stressed out we spend over $30 billion a year on these drugs.
Laura says: Worse than that - the more you talk about , and remind yourself again and again, about a negative event again, or difficult people, or your own imperfections, the more these thoughts become ingrained in your mind set. Thoughts become habits, spiraling deeper into the unconscious, creating attitudes and unwanted spontaneous emotional reactions.
"Focus on what works not what doesn't work".
BODY: WHAT IF NO ONE WAS FAT
According to an article byy Shirley Skeel, today in the US 66% of adults are overweight. Almost 33% of adults are obese, and 4.7% are morbidly obese, or more than 100 pounds overweight. But if no one was fat.......
We'd save billions of dollars in gas and food packaging. Medical expenses would be reduced as diseases such as diabetes and other chronic diseases would be lessened. Drug companies and many hospitals would close their doors and put thousands of doctors on the street. McDonald's would sell not Big Macs but little steamed chicken snacks -- or watch its profits melt away. Productivity would rise, potentially creating tens of thousands more jobs or higher wages all around.
Add up the savings up on health, food, clothing and efficiencies, and you could buy a professional home gym for every U.S. household -- or hand each household $4,270 in cash.
What would you do with the extra $4270?, How would your life change, as we waved good bye to Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, phoney foods and possibly me.
SPIRIT: MEDITATION - FALL CLEANING -LETTING GO OF COMPLAINTS
- Go into meditation and slow up your breathing.
- Make a bubble in front of your 1st chakra.
- Breathe and blow the stagnant energy into bubble.
- Fill the 1st chakra up with healing energy
- Move the bubble in front of the 2nd chakra.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4.
- Repeat with chakras 3-7
- Send the bubble into the earth to be recycled.
- Come out of meditation.
Do this meditation at least once a week this month.
