The View from the Helm:
July is the month of Independence and the boating season is on an upwind tack. When the wind fills your sails there is a feeling of independence from expensive fossil fuels and the world's challanges. You can achieve a peacefulness not found on terra firma. You are your own captain so set your own course. July 2012 has found us interacting with Potter/Sanibel Owners world-wide. We provide information, parts, sails, rigging, canvas, and help them with their retrofits. Whether you own one of our gorgeous 2012 models or an vintage model your grandparents would have loved. Potter or Sanibel, we are here to help you make the most of your sailing experiences. Racing is exhilarating whether you are at the helm of one of our world famous Potters or other recognized pocket cruisers. We are looking forward to matching our pristine boats and sailing skills against yours at the 13th Annual Cruiser's Challenge sponsored by The Potter Yachter's of San Francisco. This year we will again present the "Tinker Award" to the most innovative craftsman of the group. Last year Dave Bacon won the award for his groundbreaking storage and striking wooden fittings on his Potter 15. The state of Washington is our next stop for "Kirkland Uncorked" July 20-22. Located on the east side of Washington Lake this unique festival offers food, wine and boats as its venue. NMTA, the same group that produces the "Winter Boat Show" in Seattle sponsors this distinctive event. So heads up all you North West Potter Groups and boating enthusiasts, we look forward to meeting you as we all go uncorked in Kirkland.

Our Potter Pals program has really gained momentum. We have matched curious possible Potter owners with veteran Potter enthusiasts to exchange information or possibly take a demo sail. Bud Kerner, a Potter Yachter, recently connected with a new owner in the Delta area. Their outing was a great success with the end result being a brand new racy red Potter 19. Our thanks to Bud and our congratulations to the new Potter 19 owner.
Have a happy and recreational on-the-water July. We will be looking for you during all our travels. And if you are ever in Inglewood California please stop by International Marine for a cup of coffee and some boating conversation.
As always...
Fairwinds and great adventures,
Ken,
President of International Marine
