A View from the Helm
International Marine has seized the New Year and made it our own by strutting our stuff at boat shows in Portland and Seattle. And as the Year of the Dragon settles in with raw muscle, internal fire and boundless energy so does International Marine. We are gearing up for a fantastic season! So as you sip wine in a seaside restaurant and watch that little boat with the spinnaker up headed to parts unknown. Just smile to yourself as you know is a new potter owner spreading their wings.
An early spring is knocking at the door. The light warmer winter has most watching the blooms explode in their pristine gardens. The boaters, on the other hand, are checking their systems, repairing sails and planning the season. Remember, we are here to help. If we don't have an answer we will find it for you. Here is to a GREAT 2012 boaters!
International Marine is in the planning stages for a great program to create local fleets in your community. The idea is to create a Potter Pal Program for advocates who would like to promote and help develop fleets of like minded Potters and Sanibels. This program will have a complete Kit to help develop a presence in your sailing area. The rewards will be Potter Dollars redeemable for Potter Products. Please write back and give us your thoughts
See ya on the water!

Ken Lange

Mike Thomas in Los Osos has HMS 18 Hull # 001 which is the now the Potter 19
Photo of the Month
HMS Marine, owned by Herb Stewart, bought the US rights to produce the West Wight Potter from Stanley Smith. Herb started building the Potter 14's in the early 60'sor late 50's. In 1970 or 71, he designed and started building the HMS18. In 1975 the price of resin went through the roof (remember the oil embargo?), and they stopped building the HMS18's. The demand for them wasn't as strong as the P14's and there wasn't as much profit in them. The last one built that we know of was hull #71. Read more.... |

Oregon Boat Show
My first trip to Portland was extremely enjoyable. Mike Fitzhugh of Passion Yachts displayed our Potter 19 and Sanibel 18 alongside his Hunters at the show in the Convention Center. I met Mike, Bob Baldwin, and Marge Welling from Passion Yachts located on Hayden Island. Passion Yachts is a Certified ASA Sailing School.
It was the first time Potters and Sanibel's were debuted in Portland. Everyone seemed to liked what they saw . I enjoyed meeting Keith Hoehn a Potter 15 who is a local Fire Chief We hope the Oregon Potter community becomes a great center for Potter Sailing .
