Just What Kind of Economic Engine is King of Prussia?
In March 2012, King of Prussia District (KOP-BID) will release its first comprehensive annual report. The report will showcase the King of Prussia community and include information and statistics regarding housing, employment, retail and dining, hospitality and tourism, the commercial office market, accessibility, economic development activity and the work of the King of Prussia District. It will also offer a glimpse into some possibilities for King of Prussia's future!
As a teaser, I thought I would share a few remarkable King of Prussia statistics:
- King of Prussia is the largest employment center in the suburban Philadelphia region with more than 55,000 employees;
- King of Prussia is home to more than 30% of the hotel rooms in Montgomery County;
- The King of Prussia Mall generates more than $1B in annual retail sales and employs more than 7,200 people;
- The assessed value of all commercial properties in the Business Improvement District is $1.17B;
- There are more than 1M riders per year at the SEPTA Transportation Center at the Mall;
- King of Prussia has more than 8.7M sq. ft. of Class A commercial office space, 2nd in the region only to the Philadelphia central business district submarket;
- Valley Forge National Historical Park has more than 1.4M visitors per year.
King of Prussia is clearly a major economic engine in the Philadelphia region that continues to grow and prosper. We look forward to presenting our comprehensive overview of King of Prussia to you in just a few weeks. Please be sure to visit our website ( www.kopbid.com) in late March to download a digital copy of the entire report.
Sincerely,
Eric Goldstein, Executive Director
