Greetings!
Tu B'Shevat, the Jewish New Year of the Trees, begins Tuesday evening February 7 and continues through the day on Wednesday, February 8. With this surprisingly spring-like Cincinnati weather there are many opportunities to take your child outdoors to celebrate nature and to teach him or her about our precious environment. Does your child know that their PJ books are made from trees?
We are fortunate to have in our area several amazing public and private parks. Wherever you live, you are likely not far from a Hamilton County, City of Cincinnati or other local park. Among my favorite places to walk are Rowe Woods, Sharon Woods, Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Spring Grove Cemetery, an arboretum with over 1,200 species including flowering trees, shrubs, and perennials.
Winter walks can be peaceful and spiritual as we mosey through giant trees and appreciate their many shapes and shadows.
Check out the links below to learn about Tu B'Shevat! We hope to see you at the PJ Library Tu B'Shevat Family Celebration on Sunday, February 5 at 10:00 a.m. the J.
Enjoy this beautiful weather!
