Happy New Year from the staff of PJ Library Cincinnati!


With this issue, we are thrilled to provide you a new and enhanced PJ Library newsletter in collaboration with PJ Library national office.  The PJ Library programs around the country work alongside the incredible staff at the national office to continue to strengthen the quality of the books, communications with parents, and programs for families.  


In addition to parenting articles from parent educators at Jewish Family Service in Cincinnati, you will now find articles about all of the monthly books and cds as well as links to Jewish parenting websites and blogs.  


Please join other PJ families for our upcoming Tu B'Shevat programs at the Mayerson JCC to learn more about the holiday of Tu B'Shevat , a celebration of  trees and nature.

Cultivating Your Child's Strengths through

Tu B'Shevat

Tu B'Shevat, a day to celebrate trees, can also be a time to reflect on the life lessons we learn from them. In particular, considering the growth and development of trees can lead to insights about how our roles and responsibilities as parents change as our children grow.

 

An acorn, or other seed, grows into a sapling, then into a young tree, and finally a sturdy, fully grown tree. In order for a sapling to thrive and develop appropriately, it requires different care than the young tree it will become, just as a toddler requires different care than an adolescent.
