He was the first to admit, a lot of last night's show was something you had heard before - but it's important to start at the beginning and to make sure you know what you believe before you get put into action. And tonight, Glenn revealed ways for you to really get moving! 

Tonight, the focus of the show was "Activate" - and it was all about the election and how you can make sure that one way or another - 2012 is a year for a mandate for or against the progressives. And if you think it doesn't matter just take a look at what is happening right now in Wisconsin. Progressives and unions are doing everything they can to make sure that Walker loses. It's a microcosm to what is happening around the country, and Glenn thought it was so important that he recapped it on tonight's show (in under three minutes!):

Dear Friend and Patriot Leader,

As you know too well, unless our friends who fear God, respect our constitution and love freedom unite now and vote in this upcoming election, we will lose the America we have known. Yet remarkably, 15-30% of self-identified Christians are not even registered to vote. If even a small percentage of those joined the fight, it could make the difference in the 2012 election. Making this happen is my highest priority, and once again I need your help.

At the Pennsylvania Pastors' Network (PPN), we have been working very aggressively with pastors across the commonwealth. We're calling on them to stand boldly at the pulpit, preach the truth, and teach the Scripture as it addresses the intersection of policy and Christian culture. At the same time, I'm encouraging them to urge their members to register to vote, and to vote biblically and constitutionally on Election Day. PPN has just embarked on a mass Christian voter registration effort, called  "From Pews to Polls -An Initiative to Protect Religious Freedom in America." We want to reach into every church in Pennsylvania and enlist thousands of new voters. This is where you can help in an easy, but very big way.

First, I need your help to identify churches and pastors. If they believe in the authority of Scripture and that our rights come from God not government, we want to work with them. If you are able to make one or more recommendations of this sort, please click here to be taken directly to our website. Once there, simply supply the requested information, and if you include his or her phone number, we will personally call that pastoror church leader.

If you'd prefer to send information to a church or pastor, please feel free to forward the letter you'll find at the bottom of this email. As you help us find them, you help restore our foundation. We'll be able to discreetly and confidentially determine which members of each congregation are registered to vote. (Church organized voter registration efforts are completely legal and appropriate.)
• Registered Voter Look-Up Service - We will confidentially identify those in your church membership who are not registered to vote and return that information to you.
• Follow-Up Email - We will send or provide a template for a personal email from you or me asking unregistered members to register online or to register at a church registration drive during the month of September.
• Early Voting Information - We will provide information and assistance in helping members of your congregation to vote by Absentee Ballot if they cannot be physically present on Election Day in November.

The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq

Daniel Greenfield's new Freedom Center pamphlet, The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq, is an effort to understand the politics of the "war on terror" which has now reached a final punctuation point with the U.S. decision to speed its withdrawal from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan (where success was once deemed so crucial to national security), and to practice an incoherent form of regime change in Libya while ignoring more serious threats in Syria and Iran.

The war on terror began, Greenfield shows, as an admirable bipartisan commitment soon after the tragedy of 9/11-an effort to transcend party lines not only to punish those who attacked our country but also to interrupt planning for further attacks and try to stop the international spread of the Islamic jihad behind the attacks. But the Democratic Party, with the honorable exception of a few individuals like Richard Gephardt and Joe Lieberman, turned its back on a war soon after authorizing it, and did so at a time when American troops were facing hostile enemy fire.

Although Senate Democrats on the intelligence oversight committee had been granted access to every piece of data available to the White House, they now accused President Bush of tricking them to secure their approval. In fact, their own about-face was entirely dictated by political considerations when a Sixties antiwar activist, Howard Dean, surged ahead in the Democratic primary polls and it appeared for a moment that Americans were on the side of retreat and capitulation.

Although regime change in Iraq had been official U.S. policy since Bill Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, Democratic senators such as John Kerry who only months earlier had supported the war effort now launched demoralizing attacks on the American commander-in-chief and his troops in the field, stigmatizing it as "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time." If the truth was the first casualty of their war against the Bush administration, the second casualty was the principle of bi-partisanship that had guided foreign policy debates throughout the Cold War, the principle that "politics stops at the water's edge." Now partisan politics trumped security.

The unrestrained attacks on the Iraq War as illegal and unjustified went largely unanswered by Republicans who failed to call the Democratic saboteurs of the nation's war effort to account or to decry the risk their cynical attacks posed to American servicemen and women on the battlefield. As Greenfield demonstrates, the Democrats' partisanship had consequences not only in Iraq but elsewhere in the region: the paralysis that resulted from their "anti-war" campaign led straight to the destruction of Lebanon and the installation of a terrorist army, Hezbollah, there as a regime within a regime. And it emboldened an overtly Islamofascist regime in Iran not only to supply the IEDs responsible for most of our troop fatalities in Iraq but also to proceed with a nuclear program aimed directly at Israel and the West.

The Great Betrayal shows that Barack Obama's abandonment of Iraq is a betrayal of all the Americans and Iraqis who gave their lives to establish freedom in that country. And the result of his policies in Afghanistan has been as disastrous. While the President presented his rationale for pursuing war there as the pursuit of al-Qaeda, after abandoning his "surge" (which resulted in two thirds of all America's Afghan casualties there and the resurgence of the Taliban allies of al-Qaeda), he blithely prepared for withdrawal as if national objectives had been met.

"Losing our Sons": Documentary looks at domestic Islamic radicalization and jihadization

Charles Jacobs at Americans for Peace and Tolerance announced today the release of a trailer for their upcoming documentary, "Losing Our Sons", featuring Melvin Bledsoe - father of domestic terrorist Carlos Bledsoe aka Abdulhakim Mohamed who gunned down US Army recruiter Pvt. William Long at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2009. Melvin Bledsoe testified at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing earlier this month.

The upcoming documentary discusses how Bledsoe was radicalized by the Muslim Student Association in Tennessee and sent to terrorist training in Yemen with the written recommendation of the imam of a Nashville mosque. It also discusses how the agents of radicalization in the Nashville Muslim community have been aided by collaborators in the establishment media, politics and the so-called "interfaith" community.

Are You Registered to Vote? Do You Have a Photo ID? Do They Match?

According to the U.S. Constitution all American citizens 18 years of age or older, regardless of race, color, religion, or creed, whether male or female, have the right to vote.  However, voting in Pennsylvania this year will be a bit more complicated than prior years due to the new Voter ID law.  A dedicated group of Main Line citizens are doing what they can to make sure that you can exercise that right on November 6th. 

A small table located at Gateway Shopping Center (near Trader Joes and Great Earth Vitamins) is staffed with volunteers on weekends who will assist you by:

• Providing voter registration forms
• Helping people to complete their voter registration form
• Providing absentee ballot application forms and completion instructions
• Providing up to date information on the voter ID requirements

Additionally, if anyone has a question that the volunteer on duty is unable to answer, we will take their name, email address and/or phone number and get back to the questioner with an answer.

The table will be staffed every Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm and every Saturday & Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm now thru October 7th.

We recommend that everyone check to make sure that (1) you are still registered to vote and that (2) your voter registration name exactly matches your name on the photo ID that you plan to use on Election Day.  To confirm that you are registered, go to www.can9/10/12ivote.org . Select Pennsylvania; then click on Find Voter Registration Status.  Entering your personal data will allow you to confirm that you are registered and provide you with the address of your polling place.

Some may question whether citizens in our area really need help in registering to vote.  When this service was provided in 2008 over 1000 people registered at the table!  Volunteers assisted citizens from the 5-county Philadelphia area and Lancaster, Berks, and Lehigh Counties. 

Key dates for this fall's election are:

10/9 - last day that Voter Registration forms will be accepted by Voter Services

10/30 - last day that Absentee Ballot applications will be accepted by Voter Services

11/2 - last day that completed Absentee Ballots will be accepted by Voter Services

11/6 - Election Day

1. Before the Rooster Crows

Here is the most profound insight of the week I can give you - in American politics, if a Republican candidate loses, the media blames it on the candidate being too conservative. If a Republican candidate wins, the media credits the candidate drifting toward the center. The only sure fire loser in American politics is the conservative movement, which is remarkable given the amazing success the conservative movement has had in spite of this.

What we are seeing now on the political landscape is a growing consensus among opinion makers and average voters that Mitt Romney cannot win the election. It is not true. He can, in fact, still win. The election is, in fact, exceeding close. But the Romney campaign is a victim of a perception it itself has helped foster. Like John McCain before him, Romney seems more at ease punching other Republicans than his Democrat opponent. The public is picking up on this and perceive him unwilling or unable to fight for victory. The public is, mentally, beginning to grow weary of this campaign and Romney must work to change perception if he is to win.

Keep that in mind as I make a very simple point. There are a lot of elitist Republicans who have spent several years telling us Mitt Romney was the only electable Republican. Because the opinion makers and news media these elitists hang out with have concluded Romney will not win, the elitists are in full on panic mode. They conspired to shut out others, tear down others, and prop up Romney with the electability argument. He is now not winning against the second coming of Jimmy Carter. They know there will be many conservatives, should Mitt Romney lose, who will not be satisfied until every bridge is burned with these jerks . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

2. US Intelligence Suffers Major Compromise in Libya

The sheer incompetence of our State Department and the Obama administration is once again being trotted out for the world to see.

The tip of the iceberg was exposed last week when CNN reported on the journal of slain US Ambassador Christopher Stevens that one of its news crews had recovered from the smoking rubble of the former US consulate in Benghazi. One had to wonder what possessed a US ambassador to carry a paper journal outside the US embassy in this day and age and how in the name of heaven such a document was left unattended after the attack on the consulate.

CAIRO - On the eve of his first trip to the United States as Egypt's new Islamist president, Mohammed Morsi said the United States needed to fundamentally change its approach to the Arab world, showing greater respect for its values and helping build a Palestinian state, if it hoped to overcome decades of pent-up anger.

A former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and Egypt's first democratically elected president, Mr. Morsi sought in a 90-minute interview with The New York Times to introduce himself to the American public and to revise the terms of relations between his country and the United States after the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, an autocratic but reliable ally.

He said it was up to Washington to repair relations with the Arab world and to revitalize the alliance with Egypt, long a cornerstone of regional stability.

If Washington is asking Egypt to honor its treaty with Israel, he said, Washington should also live up to its own Camp David commitment to Palestinian self-rule. He said the United States must respect the Arab world's history and culture, even when that conflicts with Western values.

And he dismissed criticism from the White House that he did not move fast enough to condemn protesters who recently climbed over the United States Embassy wall and burned the American flag in anger over a video that mocked the Prophet Muhammad.

BILL CLINTON TO HOST EGYPT PRESIDENT MORSI IN NYC

The Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Morsi, the recently elected president of Egypt, will be a featured participant at the eighth annual meeting of Bill Clinton's Clinton Global Initiative in New York next week. 

Morsi is a prominent figure in the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, the most important of the world's Islamist organizations and ideological progenitor of al Qaeda and nearly every jihadist terrorist group in the world. Its slogan reads, "Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations."

Clinton's welcoming of Morsi to his high-profile event in New York City is surprising and may undermine the tough-on-terror image the Democratic Party is trying to cultivate ahead of the November elections.

Clinton recently praised the Obama administration's foreign policy in his address to the Democratic National Convention: "I am grateful that they have worked together to make us safer and stronger, to build a world with more partners and fewer enemies." However, it is clear--even, apparently, to Obama--that the Muslim Brotherhood is moving Egypt toward the enemy side.

Upon winning his election for the presidency, Morsi pledged to work for the release of terror mastermind Omar Abdel Rahman (the Blind Sheik), now serving a life sentence for the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and other attempted attacks in New York City.

WH Silent Over Demands to Denounce 'Piss Christ' Artwork

Religious groups are blasting President Obama for not condemning am anti-Christian art display set to appear in New York City and one Republican lawmaker said he is "fed up with the administration's double standard and religious hypocrisy.

 "Piss Christ," once branded as a "deplorable, despicable display of vulgarity," will be displayed at the Edward Tyler Nahem Gallery in Manhattan on Thursday. The artwork features a "photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist's urine."

The artwork debuted in 1989 and was funded through prize money provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. The art gallery hosting the retrospective salute to Andres Serrano is privately owned.

Religious groups and some lawmakers have already started sounding off - and making comparisons to the controversy over a recent anti-Muslim film. The low budget movie "Innocence of Muslims" sparked violent and deadly clashes across the globe.

It also brought strong rebukes, condemnations and apologies from President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a host of administration officials.

The administration tried to have the film removed from YouTube - but Google rebuffed their request. The State Dept. spent $70,000 on a Pakistani television advertisement rebuking the film. And the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff personally telephoned a Christian minister in Florida to ask him to withdraw his support of the film.

Rep. Michael Grimm (R, C-NY) wants to know why President Obama hasn't denounced the exhibit and said he's fed up with what he called the administration's "religious hypocrisy."

"The Obama administration's hypocrisy and utter lack of respect for the religious beliefs of Americans has reached an all-time high," Grimm told Fox News. "I call on President Obama to stand up for America's values and beliefs and denounce the 'Piss Christ' that has offended Christians at home and abroad."

So will the Obama Administration condemn the anti-Christian art display? Will they air a television ad denouncing the exhibit? Will the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ask the gallery to cancel the exhibit?

The White House did not return calls seeking comment. Neither did the Pentagon.

The only religion for which liberals make excuses is the most illiberal one -- Islam. While they interpret Christianity in the worst possible light -- the Obama administration places Catholic and Evangelical opponents of gay marriage in the same moral category as racists -- they cast Islam in the rosiest one. It is a "great religion," pronounced Hillary Clinton last week, even as its adherents set fire to embassies and cheered the killing of U.S. diplomats and Navy Seals.

The more violence Islam produces, the more liberals insist it is "peaceful." The cravenness would be comic were its implications not so serious. Last week self-styled Voltairean liberals, who normally gush about the glories of free speech, popped up on mindless morning shows to endorse the imprisonment of Islam's critics. MSNBC pundit Mike Barnicle encouraged the Justice Department to round up Florida pastor Terry Jones as an "accessory" to crimes. Barnicle's colleagues appeared untroubled by his fascistic suggestion. One even chimed in that "I was thinking the same thing."

So much for fighting to the death for free speech. Nor did anyone in the Obama administration, chock-a-block full of former ACLU staffers, balk at the administration's pressure on YouTube to take down the "Innocence of Muslims" video. Suddenly limits on art make sense to liberals. The Obama administration didn't succeed, but they certainly tried. Perhaps while they are it they should ask Barnes and Noble to confiscate all copies of Dante'sInferno, as he places Mohammed in hell.

Since when has the left cared about the dangers of free speech? Art is "provocation," liberals lectured Americans appalled by Andres Serrano's crucifix-in-urine photographs. Free speech should be "robust," they used to say, so as to dislodge important truths.

But now the "feelings" of viewers are paramount, provided that the viewers are Muslims, not Christians.

Pakistani Minister Offers Bounty Over Anti-Islam Film

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - A Pakistani cabinet minister on Saturday offered a $100,000 reward for the death of the person behind the anti-Islam video made in the United States that has roiled Muslims around the world, even suggesting that Taliban and Al Qaeda militants could carry out the killing.

Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, the federal railways minister, said at a news conference in the northwestern city of Peshawar that he would personally finance a bounty aimed at the maker of a crude, low-budget video that denigrates the Prophet Muhammad.

Mr. Bilour acknowledged that incitement to murder was illegal, but said he was "ready to be hanged in the name of the Prophet Muhammad." And he invited the Taliban and Al Qaeda to be "partners in this noble deed," according to news reports.

The incendiary statements came a day after violent protests paralyzed Pakistan's largest cities, leaving 23 people dead and more than 200 injured, and invited fresh criticism of the government's handling of the crisis.

Adobe Acrobat Update Sparks Violent Protests In Muslim World 

Scores of people were injured Saturday in clashes with police as protests continued in the Muslim world against the most recent Adobe Acrobat update, downloaded Friday to one of the region's fifteen computers. Released by an American-based software company, the update allegedly provided "critical fixes improving security, stability and performance," while also addressing a number of "high priority bugs," which many in the Muslim world see as an insult to their way of life.

"Why are Americans always telling us that we need an update?" an imam addressed a raging crowd of followers in Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka. "The very suggestion that we need a 'critical fix' to improve the 'handling of errors' is yet another example of America's arrogance. Our system is superior to theirs and any suggestion that it 'misses a plug-in' is an imperialist attempt to impose their blasphemous lifestyle on true believers."

Juval Aviv was the Israeli Agent upon whom the movie ' Munich ' was based. He was Golda Meir's bodyguard. She appointed him to track down and bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who took the Israeli athletes hostage and killed them during the Munich Olympic Games.

       In a lecture in New York City a few weeks ago, Aviv shared information that EVERY American needs to know - but that our government has not yet shared with us.

         Aviv predicted the London subway bombing on the Bill O'Reilly show on Fox News stating publicly that it would happen within a week. At the time, O'Reilly laughed and mocked him saying that in a week he wanted Aviv back on the show. But, unfortunately, within a week the terrorist attack had occurred.         Juval Aviv gave intelligence (via what he had gathered in Israel and the Middle East ) to the Bush Administration about 9/11 a month before it occurred. His report specifically said that they would use planes as bombs and target high profile buildings and monuments. Congress has since hired him as a security consultant.         Now for Aviv's future predictions: He predicts the next terrorist attack on the U.S. will occur within the next few months. Forget hijacking airplanes, because he says terrorists will NEVER try hijacking a plane again as they know the people onboard will never go down quietly again. Aviv believes our airport security is a joke--that we have been reactionary rather than proactive in developing strategies that are truly effective.          

For example:

1) Our airport technology is outdated. We look for metal, and the new explosives are made of plastic.

2) He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire. Because of that, now everyone has to take off their shoes. A group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives. Now we can't bring liquids on board. He says he's waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on his underwear; at which point, security will have us all traveling naked! Every strategy we have is reactionary.

3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the gates. Aviv says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times on the front end of the airport when/where people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or get a drink, and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. In Israel , security checks bags BEFORE people can even ENTER the airport.          

Aviv says the next terrorist attack here in America is imminent and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places where large groups of people congregate... (i.e., Disneyland, Las Vegas casinos, big cities (New York, San Francisco, Chicago, etc.) and that it will also include shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, etc., as well as rural America this time (Wyoming, Montana, etc.).         The attack will be characterized by simultaneous detonations around the country (terrorists like a big impact), involving at least 5-8 cities, including rural areas.         Aviv says terrorists won't need to use suicide bombers in many of the larger cities, because at places like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas , they can simply valet park a car loaded with explosives and walk away.         Aviv says all of the above is well known in intelligence circles, but that our U.S.

Government does not want to 'alarm American citizens' with the facts. The world is quickly going to become 'a different place', and issues like 'global warming' and political correctness will become totally irrelevant.         On an encouraging note, Aviv says that Americans don't have to be concerned about being nuked. He says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not use sophisticated weapons. They like to use suicide as a front-line approach. It's cheap, it's easy, it's effective; and they have an infinite abundance of young militants more than willing to 'meet their destiny'.         Aviv also says the next level of terrorists, over which America should be most concerned, will not be coming from abroad. But will be, instead, 'home grown'- that means having attended and been educated in our own schools and universities right here in the U.S. He says to look for 'students' who frequently travel back and forth to the Middle East . These young terrorists will be most dangerous because they will know our language and will fully understand the habits of Americans; but that we Americans won't know/understand a thing about them.         Aviv says that, as a people, Americans are unaware and uneducated about the terrorist threats we will, inevitably, face. America still has only a handful of Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks, and Aviv says it is critical that we change that fact SOON.         So, what can America do to protect itself? From an intelligence perspective, Aviv says the U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and technology for its intelligence. We need to, instead, follow Israel 's, Ireland 's and England 's hands-on examples of human intelligence, both from an infiltration perspective as well as to trust 'aware' citizens to help... We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U.S. Government continues to treat us, its citizens, 'like babies'. Our government thinks we 'can't handle the truth' and are concerned that we'll panic if we understand the realities of terrorism.         Aviv says this is a deadly mistake.         Aviv recently created/executed a security test for our Congress, by placing an empty briefcase in five well-traveled spots in five major cities. The results? Not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to check it out. In fact, in Chicago , someone tried to steal the briefcase!         In comparison, Aviv says that citizens of Israel are so well 'trained' that an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout, 'Unattended Bag!' The area would be quickly & calmly cleared by the citizens themselves. But, unfortunately, America hasn't been 'hurt enough' yet by terrorism for their government to fully understand the need to educate its citizens or for the government to understand that it's their citizens who are, inevitably, the best first-line of defense against terrorism.         Aviv also was concerned about the high number of children here in America who were in preschool and kindergarten after 9/11, who were 'lost' without parents being able to pick them up, and about our schools that had no plan in place to best care for the students until parents could get there. (In New York City , this was days, in some cases!)         He stresses the importance of having a plan that's agreed upon within your family, to respond to in the event of a terrorist emergency. He urges parents to contact their children's schools and demand that the schools, too, develop plans of actions, as they do in Israel .         Does your family know what to do if you can't contact one another by phone? Where would you gather in an emergency?         He says we should all have a plan that is easy enough for even our youngest children to remember and follow.         Aviv says that the U.S. Government has in force a plan that, in the event of another terrorist attack, will immediately cut-off EVERYONE's ability to use cellphones, blackberries, etc., as this is the preferred communication source used by terrorists and is often the way that their bombs are detonated.         How will you communicate with your loved ones in the event you cannot speak? You need to have a plan.         If you believe what you have just read, then you must feel compelled to send it to every concerned parent or guardian, grandparents, uncles, aunts, whatever and whomever. Nothing will happen if you choose not to do so, but in the event it does happen, this particular email will haunt you...         "I should have sent this to...", but I didn't believe it and just deleted it as so much trash.

The Great Media Noise Machine

According to the media, the Romney campaign is struggling to recover from a terrible week after an even worse week and the man himself has no hope of winning the election. Also according to the media, the murderers running wild in the streets belong to a religion of peace and the world is in grave imminent danger of destruction from cow farts.

 

The three-fold process by which the noise machine inflicts its idiocy on us works like this. First the narrative is invented, then endless streams of experts are brought in to comment on and reinforce the narrative, and finally there is a hysterical denunciation of those who reject the narrative as ignorant vermin barely worth of being clubbed on the head on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

In the real world, Romney is still running neck and neck with Obama among registered voters, the non-stop gaffe express exists only in the minds of the media, which manufactures stories that fit the narrative, then reports on the narrative and discusses the narrative to death until enough people confuse it with reality.

The Romney campaign is not flailing and it is not guilty of missteps; what it is, is under constant attack by a massive leftist bloc composed of think-tanks, campaign operatives and the media who then use their own attacks to manufacture a narrative of incompetence. Each attack is then called a "gaffe" and used as evidence that the campaign is flailing.

Gallup has just confirmed what many of us have known all along. One of America's largest polling firms has released the results of a survey dealing with people's trust of the media. Its findings SHOULD be of great concern to the Democrat Media Cheer Leaders but it won't be. They are too busy lying to worry about we think of them. Nevertheless, Gallup says that essentially 60% of us don't trust the media while just 40% do.

This negative/positive split is the largest Gallup has ever found. Of course the Democrats trust the media at 58% and why not, they are on the same team and the media tells them the lies they live by.  But neatly tucked away in the report is an item that SHOULD make media heads explode! It tells us 61% of Independents don't trust the media and considering that Independents are supporting Mitt ...    "I have not yet begun to fight!" shouted John Paul Jones when the captain of the British ship Serapis asked him to surrender.

Their ships were so close their cannons scraped and masts entangled, yet his American ship Bonhomme Richard, named for Ben Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanac, refused to give up.

When two cannons exploded and his ship began sinking, John Paul Jones lashed his ship to the enemy's to keep it afloat.

After 3 more hours of fighting, the British surrendered.

This was SEPTEMBER 23, 1779. Called the "Father of the American Navy," John Paul Jones commanded the Continental Navy's first ship, Providence, in 1775.

With 12 guns, it was the most victorious American vessel in the Revolution, capturing or sinking 40 British ships.

In 1778, sailing the Ranger, Jones raided the coasts of Scotland and England.

It Ain't a Zero Sum Game!

In this conservative oil and agriculture community of Bakersfield, California high schools and carrots are living proof that business and profit aren't a zero sum game. What a private citizen does with his/her trait of being "poor in spirit" regardless of wealth or success is an example of efficient use of money the "progressive" or OWS'er can't even dream of with his lust for bloated federal debt burdened dollars.

Founded in 1947, Catholic Garces Memorial High School has spent several million dollars in the last few years upgrading its campus, especially in science classrooms, chapel, landscaping and athletic facilities. They have a 100% graduation rate. One strong motivation was recent competition - competition - you know, competition - from the new Christian High School across town in a newer area. Time for a True Opportunity Agenda

Occupy Wall Street's pathetic first birthday last week confirmed that the longstanding reports of the movement's death have not, in fact, been exaggerated. So why are we keeping it alive by talking incessantly about income inequality instead of focusing on what really matters -- opportunity and upward mobility?

All this huffing and puffing about widening income gaps -- coupled with strident calls for wealth redistribution -- detracts from the urgent need to shore up our threatened American Dream and develop an opportunity agenda. The nation's attention should be squarely focused on expanding everyone's prospects -- especially those at the bottom who most need a hand up and a way out.

What matters is not how much more those at the top earn in relation to those at the bottom -- they are, after all, not in competition with one another -- but rather the real needs of those at the bottom and the opportunities for advancement available to all Americans. And while government "spreading the wealth around" would surely equalize outcomes -- the Left's Dream -- it would neither address the real causes of poverty nor expand the real opportunities and earned successes that define the American Dream.

A new Heritage report defends the American Dream from liberalism's misguided attempts to redefine it along statist and egalitarian lines and explains why income inequality is not an obstacle to advancement in the United States. What really matters -- and continues by and large to thrive -- is upward mobility.

Rather than focus on those at the top of the ladder we should be concerned about the hurdles that threaten those struggling to achieve the American Dream. "Defending the Dream" draws attention to six factors that most threaten upward mobility:

1. Statism: The modern administrative state entangles businesses in a suffocating web of regulations and laws. All of this red tape takes a toll on the economy, which in turn leads to fewer jobs being created. And fewer jobs means fewer opportunities for those most in need of jobs.

2. The Collapse of the Family: The decline of marriage, especially among the poor, has devastating, long-lasting consequences on children and their prospects for success. When it comes to the American Dream, the family is not a tangential social or religious issue; it is a crucial economic one that is deeply intertwined with mobility.

3. The Dependency Fostered by the Welfare State: Far from eradicating poverty, the welfare state traps people in poverty by discouraging work and undermining the family.

4. The Erosion of our Culture of Work: By legitimizing indolence and devaluing hard work, our culture decreases the likelihood that the poor, who are most in need of sound cultural indicators, will take advantage of the opportunities America continues to offer.

5. The Failures of Public Education: Our failing public schools deny countless children the rudimentary skills they need to move ahead in the life.

6. The Looming Fiscal Crisis: Unless we change course, continued massive government spending and the surging public debt will destroy the foundations of our economy and put the American Dream beyond the reach of our children and grandchildren.

The rise in income inequality in recent decades has in no way contributed to these problems. They grow out of ill-conceived government policies, point to the complete failure of government to address some of our social problems and, in the case of the collapse of the family, are deep-seated cultural problems encouraged and made worse by governmental policies.

The United States must remain what it has always been: the Land of Opportunity. Misguided efforts to use government to transform it instead into the Land of Income Equality will inevitably leave us all worse off. Our first priority must therefore be to refocus the national conversation and our nation's policies on the promise of upward mobility that is at the heart of the American Dream.

Reject The Demoralization Campaign

Obama operatives and the media "echo chamber" have launched a major offensive to demoralize you. Don't fall for it.

Has September been a disaster for Romney? Big media says it has. But a new Politico poll today shows Romney beating Obama among middle class families by 14 points!

There is only one poll that matters -- the one that will take place in 43 days when you vote on Election Day!


Sharia Coming To America

The Muslim world is enraged, and we are hearing a lot from foreign leaders about exactly what they are demanding we do to quell the anger. Egypt's new President Mohamed Morsi told the New York Times that "the United States needed to fundamentally change its approach to the Arab world, showing greater respect for its values."

According to the foreign minister of Pakistan, "It is not good enough to say, 'It's free speech, it should be allowed.' ...maybe we do need to rethink how much freedom is okay." Individuals on the American left are in agreement with the Islamists. A regular commentator on MSNBC suggested that Pastor Terry Jones be investigated "as an accessory" to the death of Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

The Obama Administration has already taken great strides to silence any criticism of Islam. Top Obama security officials have argued that jihad refers to positive spiritual development. The Fort Hood shooting was classified as "workplace violence."

Our young men and women in uniform are getting a whitewashed version of Islam. Islam teaches that Muslims may lie to infidels. Yet we are surprised that so many Afghan trainees are turning their guns on us.

Meanwhile, no one in the Obama Administration is standing up to defend free speech. No one is telling the president of Egypt or the foreign minister of Pakistan to stop lecturing us on free speech when they deny it to their own citizens. No one is telling these foreign leaders that they do not get to restrict the constitutional rights of American citizens.

But that's not terribly surprising either since Obama/Reid/Pelosi ignored the Constitution when they were writing Obamacare.


Obama Diminishes Alliance With Israel

During an interview with CBS, Barack Obama was asked about the growing tension between Israel and Iran. Obama appeared dismissive of Prime Minister Netanyahu's concerns, saying he was going to "block out any noise that's out there." Interestingly, Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in an interview this morning referred to Israeli concerns as "noise" too.

Then Obama added that Israel was just "one of our closest allies" in the Middle East. Seriously? Name one other, Mr. Obama. I think the American people would like to know more about your definition of an ally. Certainly there is no other country in the region that could be relied upon to deploy its military assets on our side in a Middle Eastern war.

Obama's remarks were very revealing. Knowing full well he has a problem with Jewish and pro-Israel voters, he still can't stop himself from undermining Israel, even as he tries to portray himself as a friend of Israel. Imagine his second term!


The Obama Pledge

Friday we reported on the Obama campaign's disgusting redesign of the American flag. Evidently it wasn't the hot item some folks thought it would be. Links to the poster now result in an error page and searches on the campaign's online store come up empty.

But here's something even creepier. The Obama campaign is asking its supporters to write down why they support Barack -- write it down on their hand -- and then take a picture of themselves -- with their hand over their hearts pledging their loyalty for Obama. The cult lives!
