Obama Thugs Rough Up Gallup For Polls They Don't Like

Conservative Byte | Posted on September 10, 2012

Obama and Frank the pupit The Obama Administration's Justice Department announced, on August 22nd, that it was joining a lawsuit by a former Gallup employee and whistleblower against the Gallup Corporation for allegedly overcharging the government on polling work.

The announcement comes on the heels of a confrontation between Gallup staffers and Obama strategist David Axelrod in which he accused the company of using out of date sampling methods which, he said, generated polling data negative to the president.

The whistleblower's lawsuit has been kicking around since 2009, but the Justice Department joined the suit only after the run-in between Axelrod and Gallup in April of this year.

In a scene right out of a typical authoritarian regime, Fox News reports that "employees at the venerable Gallup polling firm suggested they felt threatened by Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod when he questioned the methodology of a mid-April poll showing Mitt Romney leading the president - according to internal emails published Thursday."

That poll that sent Axelrod ballistic showed Romney leading Obama 48-43 percent.

The Daily Caller published e mails that started when Axelrod sent a tweet to Gallup saying the tracking poll was "saddled with some methodological problems" and directing followers to a National Journal story in which a professor suggested outdated sampling.

We Will Never Forget: Incredible Pics Show World Trade Center Tribute Lighting Up Night Sky
The Blaze | by Jason Howerton | Posted on September 11, 2012 at 7:08am

On Sept. 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 people were killed on America's worst day of terrorism as 19 al-Qaida terrorists hijacked four passenger jetliners. Two planes smashed into New York's World Trade Center, causing the twin towers to fall; one plowed into the Pentagon; and the fourth crashed into a field in western Pennsylvania.

On Tuesday night, two glorious beams of light will pierce the New York skyline where the Twin Towers used to be in remembrance of everyone who lost their lives on that fateful morning. It's an occurrence that has become a staple on the anniversary.

Victims' families and others will gather and grieve Tuesday at ground zero, the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Pa., for the first time after the emotional turning point of last year's 10th anniversary.

And while the nation will mourn on this day, we will never forget.

25,000 Chicago Teachers Walk Off the Job

This morning, about 350,000 students in Chicago Public Schools will be without teachers. While the 25,000-plus unionized teachers take to the picket lines in a strike over benefits and teacher evaluations, working parents are scrambling to figure out what to do.

"We know a strike is really going to be painful. People will be hurt on both sides," Jay Rehak, a union delegate and high school English teacher, told the Chicago Tribune. "But in the end, it's like saying, 'I'll be bloodied and you'll be bloodied, but at least you'll know not to bully me again.'"

Among other demands, the Chicago Teachers Union had asked for a 30 percent pay increase-despite the facts that just 15 percent of fourth graders are proficient in reading and just 56 percent of students graduate in the district. The school board ended up offering a 16 percent pay increase over four years, but as last night's midnight deadline for strike negotiations neared, the union rejected the offer.

The average teacher in Chicago Public Schools-a district facing a $700 million deficit-makes $71,000 per year before benefits are included.

Reuters reports that "Chicago Public Schools has projected a $3 billion budget deficit over the next three years and faces a crushing burden of pensions promised to retiring teachers."

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, formerly President Obama's White House chief of staff, is getting an advanced class in union power. He came into office last year and asked the teachers to accept a 2 percent pay raise instead of 4 percent to try to address the $700 million budget shortfall, and the union refused.

He did reach a deal to lengthen one of the country's shortest school days. As the Tribune describes: "In exchange for the longer school day-an additional half-hour in high schools and 75 minutes in elementary schools-CPS agreed to rehire nearly 500 teachers in non-core subjects from a pool of teachers who had been laid off. That kept the hours in the work week the same for full-time teachers."

The most reliable data show that teachers in general work no more than private professionals in a typical workweek, even when off-site work on evenings and weekends is included. Yet the CPS school day is among the shortest for teachers in the nation.

Heritage's Jason Richwine and the American Enterprise Institute's Andrew Biggs did an extensive study of teacher compensation and followed up with additional discussion of controversial issues. When it comes to teacher pay, Richwine sums up:

Because the average public-school teacher already receives above-market compensation, policymakers should avoid across-the-board pay raises. Instead, they should focus on rewarding high-quality teachers with targeted salary increases.

Of course, teacher compensation is much more than just wages. Part of Chicago Public Schools' financial problems is the guaranteed pensions for retired teachers. Richwine explains that these defined-benefit plans, which cost several times more than the typical retirement plan in the private sector, are a bad deal for taxpayers:

Since benefits accruing to today's workers need not be paid now, states can promise generous benefits without feeling the full fiscal impact for years or even decades. Benefits to workers are guaranteed, meaning taxpayers are ultimately responsible for any shortfalls in their states' pension systems-and there are many shortfalls.

The Chicago strike, highlighting the urgent need for education reform, comes at a time when lack of confidence in public schools is at an all-time high-and support for school choice is also at an all-time high. Is it any wonder?

Dear Members and Friends,

Believe  it or not, the Delaware Primary season lingers on until today.

While Delawareans held a Presidential Primary in April on the same Tuesday as Pennsylvanians, they did not vote in other Federal or State races.

So, if you live in Delaware, please vote today, September 11, for PAC endorsed Republican candidates Kevin Wade (U.S. Senate), and Sher Valenzuela (Lt. Governor).

In case you missed Sher's speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, she was fantastic!  (As a guest of the Romney campaign, I was fortunate enough to be able to watch the speech in person.)

The only major contested race is for US Congress (DE-at-Large).  While we did not endorse in that race, we do think it is our responsibility to inform you that Republican Rose Izzo is more conservative than her primary opponent, Tom Kovach.

Also, eight friends of the PAC were on hand for last Friday's Romney Presser with Pat Toomey at the Independence Hall Visitor Center (our hangout).

Of course, some rude Obama supporters tried to drown out Senator Toomey's words, but to no avail.  The Senator remained cool and collected during his presentation which convincingly refuted President Obama's convention speech.

A new app called "In Obama's own words" is great.  Right now it is only for the iPhone.  If you are wanting for someone to hear something Obama said that really is awful for our country, and he has said a lot, this app is what you need on your iPhone.  It is only $.99.  It is well worth it.  It is him talking and saying these things that other people can hear when you press the play button.  Pass this information on.  The guy who made this is had so many requests to make it for other popular cell phones now.  He is just a great patriot who is a great computer nerd and did this after hundreds of hours of work on it.

New Campaign launched by former CIA, Special Operations Members to combat leaks and politicization of National Security Info

Kicks Off Nationwide With Release Of Documentary Short Film Titled "Dishonorable Disclosures"

OPSEC Website: http://www.opsecteam.org/

Former CIA and Special Operations members are announcing the creation of OPSEC, a new nationwide public campaign to combat the spike in leaks and politicization of Intelligence and Special Operations missions that threaten their effectiveness and the safety of Americans who conduct them. OPSEC - short for Operational Security, meaning to eliminate or reduce the exploitation of critical information - will begin with the release of "Dishonorable Disclosures," a new documentary short film highlighting the problem from the perspective of those who have served in these critical positions. The film will also serve as the basis for a TV and online advertising effort.

http://www.opsecteam.org/

"Intelligence and Special Operations members are angry and frustrated at how our work has been used for political advantage by officials across government, including President Obama himself who bears special responsibility as Commander in Chief," said Scott Taylor, chairman of OPSEC and a former Navy SEAL. "We want the American people to understand the cost of these leaks and politicization both on those who serve and on our national security and to hold those in positions of leadership accountable if it doesn't stop."

OPSEC is made up of individuals who served their country in the CIA, and Special Operations Forces (SOF) consisting of Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, Marine Corps and Air Force Special Operations. It is organized as a 501(c)(4) nonpartisan public education campaign and is independent of any political party or campaign organization.

The campaign will begin with the release of "Dishonorable Disclosures," a documentary short film that views the impact of the increasing number of leaks on Intelligence and Special Operations missions, tradecraft, tactics and capabilities from the perspective of those who have relied on these tools to carryout similar missions and protect themselves and those they served alongside. The film will be shown at events in key states across the country over the next several months, including Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, North Carolina and Nevada. "Dishonorable Disclosures" can be seen here.

"Countless leaks, interviews and decisions by the Obama Administration and other government officials have undermined the success of our Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk," said Fred Rustmann, an OPSEC member and 24-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency. "OPSEC will carry a strong message across the country that it's time for President Obama and other administration officials to stop jeopardizing national security operations for political gain."

More information about OPSEC and news about the release of "Dishonorable Disclosures" can be found at http://www.opsecteam.org/.

Dishonorable Disclosures

Former Special Ops officers from four separate branches of the military have joined ranks for one specific purpose - to remove Barack Obama from office.

And now they need your help to do it.

Dear Fellow American,

During World War II, they had a poster up in every defense plant and military base in America.

It didn't mince words; it told it straight --

"Loose lips sink ships."

Well, now our nation is saddled with a Commander in Chief who just doesn't seem to get that message. Or, if he does, he simply doesn't care.

Let me lay it on the line: Barack Obama's loose lips are doing worse than sinking ships - they're putting our entire nation at risk.

And if you and I don't get this man out of office, he's going to destroy our military, undermine every ally we have, and arm our enemies to the teeth.

All for his own sorry political purposes.

That's why I am asking you to join me now in helping the Special Operations Speaks (SOS) PAC launch a nationwide campaign to remove Barack Obama from office. Before it's too late.

Demand Congress Hold the Obama 'Leakers' Accountable

PS: Like most Navy officers, the date of June 15, 1985, is seared in my memory. That's the date Islamic terrorists hijacked TWA Flight 847 and brutally tortured Navy Seabee Robert Stethem to death. All he had to do was scream out for mercy, and he would have been allowed to live. But he refused to utter a sound.

The pilot of Flight 847 later said, "He was the bravest man I've ever seen in my life."

Bob Stethem's brother was a Navy SEAL; I know him. So, I know something of the stuff of which he was made. Warriors like him don't scream out, they don't beg for mercy, and they don't ask for help.

And that's why my fellow former Special Operations officers and I are asking for your help on their behalf today.

In 2008, when he was running for president, Barack Obama promised his leftwing supporters that if they helped him get elected, "I will slow the development of future combat systems."

That's one of the only campaign promises he has kept. And it has placed our brave warriors in harm's way.

Your gift of $25, $50, $100 - even $1,000 or more if you can possibly spare it - will help our Special Operations Speaks PAC bring an end to Barack Obama's war on the military. So, I urge you, please give as generously as you can.

White House Watch

Please give your attention to this important announcement from the Senate Conservatives Fund. From time to time, we send you content on behalf of third parties we believe may be of interest to you and we believe this one deserves your attention.

Senate Conservatives Fund

Fellow Conservatives:

If you want to stop the massive growth of our federal government and save America's future, we must change the United States Senate.

Harry Reid and the Democrats control the Senate today and, unfortunately, we still have too many Republicans who lack the courage to fight for our nation's founding principles.

As a Senator who works each day to stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying our country, I can tell you that we desperately need conservative reinforcements.

This is why I founded the Senate Conservatives Fund back in 2008 and it's why SCF is working so hard today to elect a new group of leaders in 2012 who will fight to turn this country around.

Will you help change the Senate?

The Senate Conservatives Fund has endorsed eight conservative candidates who will help strip Harry Reid of control of the Senate and fight the liberal policies that are bankrupting our country.

Josh Mandel Ohio
Josh Mandel Ohio
Jeff Flake Arizona
Jeff Flake Arizona
Richard Mourdock Indiana
Richard Mourdock Indiana
Ted Cruz Texas
Ted Cruz Texas

Deb Fischer Nebraska
Deb Fischer Nebraska
George Allen Virginia
George Allen Virginia
Tom Smith Pennsylvania
Tom Smith Pennsylvania
Dan Bongino Maryland
Dan Bongino Maryland

These eight candidates are unique in that they have conservative records, have earned support from the grassroots in their states, and have the courage to stand up for our values -- even if it means going against their own party's leadership.

These candidates support all of SCF's policy goals, including:

  • Cutting spending to balance the budget
  • Repealing Obamacare entirely
  • Securing the borders and oppose amnesty
  • Stopping corporate bailouts
  • Banning earmarks
  • Establishing term limits
  • Defending the 2nd Amendment
  • Protecting human life

The Senate Conservatives Fund is doing two important things to help its endorsed candidates win in November.

First, SCF is raising money for each of the candidates from donors all across the nation. Money alone does not win elections, but the lack of money can certainly lose them.

Second, SCF is running powerful TV and radio ads to counter the opposition and drive home our side's message of economic freedom and prosperity.

So if you want to do something really meaningful and effective to save our country, please support the Senate Conservatives Fund and its endorsed candidates TODAY.

Help Change the Senate ...

SCF makes it possible for you to donate directly to its eight endorsed candidates so they receive 100% of your donations.

This is a very unique approach for a third-party group and it shows exactly how committed SCF is to helping these candidates. It's also why the POLITICO newspaper called SCF a "wildly successful small-donor fundraising machine."

These are exceptional candidates who have overcome long odds to get this far, and now they urgently need your help to win in November.

Time is running out and we must work together to send true conservative leaders to Washington this year.

Thank you for doing what you can to help turn this country around.

Sincerely,

Jim DeMint
United States Senator

P.S. If we're going to save America, we must fire Harry Reid and change the United States Senate. Without a conservative Senate, we'll never stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying this great country.

60 Plus "LET'S DO BETTER" TOUR

PATIENT CENTERED AFFORDABLE REFORM

The "Let's Do Better" bus tour will visit with seniors in their communities to discuss their reaction to the controversial health reform care bill passed in 2010. This legislation, which remains unpopular with seniors, cuts Medicare, cripples Medicare Advantage, establishes a "Medicare IRS", and generally provides for a bureaucratic takeover of important health care decisions - all unpopular with seniors.

The tour is a project of the 60 Plus Association.

Events surrounding the tour will include rallies, health care briefings, meet & greets, and townhall meetings. It will also feature health care experts and advocates, as well as the 60 Plus leadership team of Jim Martin, Amy Frederick, and legendary entertainer Pat Boone - who is the national spokesperson for the seniors group.

60 Plus, founded more than 20 years ago and currently supported by some 7.2 million "senior activists", is often referred to as the conservative alternative to the AARP. The group funded by voluntary donations from over a quarter-million donors and does not accept taxpayer funding, unlike the AARP.

The bus has a replica of its own AARP bumper sticker reproduced in giant letters on the outside of the bus, 'AARP: Association Against Retired Persons.' The side panels read: 'Healthcare Reform: Let's Do Better-Patient Centered, Affordable Reform.'

Sept. 11, 2012: Come to Pamela Geller's Free Speech SION event at the UN Plaza in New York City

If you're anywhere near New York on 9/11, check out this invitation to attend Pamela Geller's FREE SPEECH event

SION to Hold International Congress and Media Workshop to Address Islamic Supremacist War Against Free Speech

The world's leading forces for freedom will be there. There is a suggested contribution of $36 per person.  Register now, space is limited. September 11, 2012, UN Plaza Millenium Hotel, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

Email:  PamelaGeller@gmail.com to register.

NEW YORK: The first session of the International Freedom Defense Congress, the operating body of the human rights organization Stop Islamization of Nations (SION), will be held in New York on September 11, 2012. The principal focus of the Congress will be a media workshop pertaining to Islamic supremacist attempts to restrict the freedom of speech in the free world, and the smear campaigns against freedom fighters in newspapers and media institutions in the West.

"The objective of this first-of-its-kind workshop is to develop media-related mechanisms to address the smear campaigns," SION said in a statement. It will also address the media's double standard regarding Islam and other religions, as epitomized in March 2012 by the New York Times' running of an anti-Catholic smear ad and rejection of a SION ad telling the truth about Islamic jihad.

It said the workshop will discuss at length the reasons behind and the results of the Western media's offensive campaigns against freedom of speech and the truth about Islam, jihad, Islamic supremacism and Muslims, which it added still occur from time to time.

"The workshop will represent a quantum leap in media action, as it discusses, beyond rhetoric, the practical steps to address the phenomenon of the Islamic war against free speech," SION President Pamela Geller said.  Fighting Back in the War on Free Speech Pamela Geller, March 18, 2012

Freedom fighters from all over the globe, journalists, intellectuals and academicians will be among the participants in the workshop, which will consist of brainstorming sessions to develop mechanisms for cooperation with external partners, and to develop an action plan to address the phenomenon of the Islamic war against free speech.

The organization noted that the workshop is of particular importance as it is the first ever to address the implications of Resolution 16/18 of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the stated goal of which is to "combat intolerance, negative stereotyping and stigmatisation of, discrimination, incitement to violence, and violence against persons based on religion or belief," but which is actually designed to restrict truthful speech about Islamic supremacism and jihad, so as to render the West mute and defenseless before the advancing threat of jihad and Sharia.

Resolution 16/18, which was adopted by the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva in March 2011, was backed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the most recent Istanbul Process Conference in Washington in December.

This is widely viewed as a significant step toward furthering OIC efforts to destroy the freedom of speech and impose Sharia blasphemy laws on the free world.

"We are holding this Congress on the eleventh anniversary of the day jihad came to America in order to strike a blow for freedom," Geller said.

SION President Geller is the author of Stop Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance (WND Books) and The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War On America (Simon & Schuster). SION Vice President is the acclaimed author and Islam expert, Robert Spencer, author of the New York Times bestsellers, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and The Truth About Muhammad (both Regnery).

The SION Board of Advisers also includes Oskar Freysinger, a Swiss Parliamentarian and member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP), who won international renown for his leadership of the successful campaign against the construction of minarets in Switzerland; Cliff Kincaid, editor of Accuracy in Media (AIM) and a leader of the struggle to keep the jihadist propaganda network Al-Jazeera off American airwaves; Dr. Ashraf Rameleh, President of Voice of the Copts, an international organization standing up for the human rights of Coptic Christians and all religious minorities against religious bigotry and intolerance; Dr. Ali Sina, the renowned ex-Muslim author and founder of FaithFreedom.org; Dr. Wafa Sultan, the ex-Muslim human rights activist and author; the German pro-freedom activist Stefan Herre of Politically Incorrect; the Israeli author Dr. Mordechai Kedar; the Hindu human rights activist Babu Suseelan; Anders Gravers of Stop Islamisation of Europe (SIOE); and Canadian publisher and free speech defender Ezra Levant.

Speakers at SION's International Freedom Defense Congress will include Kedar, Rameleh, Sina, Kincaid, and Gravers, as well as Danish free speech advocate Lars Hedegaard; Italian human rights activists Magdi Christiano Allam and Valentina Colombo; English politician and freedom fighter Paul Weston; and renowned Muhammad cartoonist Lars Vilks. More speakers will be announced shortly.

SION stands for:

--  The freedom of speech - as opposed to Islamic prohibitions of
"blasphemy" and "slander," which are used effectively to quash

          honest discussion of jihad and Islamic supremacism;
--  The freedom of conscience - as opposed to the Islamic death

         penalty for apostasy;
--  The equality of rights of all people before the law - as
opposed to Sharia's institutionalized discrimination against
         women and non-Muslims.

Philadelphia Tea Party Patriots
September meeting Date Change - Due to a scheduling conflict at the Rock the Phila Tea Party Patriots' September meeting will be held on Tuesday the 18th from 7 to 9 PM.

Formation of the PA Freedom Coalition

Below is a message from Diana and Don Reimer notifying the grassroots of The efforts of the PA Freedom Coalition.

Grassroots organizers from Southeast PA have put together a cohesive plan that will get voters to the polls and educate them on issues around our core values.
You know them: Free markets, Fiscally responsible and Constitutionally limited government!

Flyers have been collected and designed along with scripts and door hangers. Now is your chance to volunteer!

Neighborhood walks
Dates to sign up are listed below but if you are unable to make it to the sign up location on these dates don't count your self out. Just send us an email and let us know you want to help.

From Diana and Don,
Hi all

This GOTV effort is open to anyone that would like to help. They do not need to be part of a tea party or other grassroots group. Please forward to your group email lists also to your friends and neighbors if you feel they might be interested in helping us win in Montgomery County PA

Volunteers Needed

Philadelphia Tea Party Patriots; i.e.PA Freedom Coalition needs help getting volunteers. The number of volunteers needed are 100 walkers/riders and 30 drivers with vehicles, starting Saturday, 15 September for eight consecutive Saturdays ending on November 3rd. The volunteers will take part in an organized, planned door-knocking effort specifically to visit with registered Independents in 83 swing precincts in Montgomery county, PA. Three staging meetings for volunteer sign-ups and familiarization training are scheduled: September 4th, Tuesday 6:00-8:30pm; September 8th and 9th, Saturday and Sunday, Doors will be open from 1:00 to 6:00pm for individuals to come in and sign up as volunteers. Location address: Towamencin Township Municipal Center, 1090 Troxel Road Lansdale, PA 19446

Purpose and Goal
Our main PURPOSE: to get as many registered Independent voters to the polls and to cast their votes on issues and policies, not parties or personalities. Our main GOAL: to achieve a conservative majority in Montgomery county for the 2012 election. A conservative win in the highly populated Montgomery county is HUGH. And this change to a conservative majority in Montgomery County is REAL. We have need of 130 volunteers to take part in this door-knocking effort for eight consecutive Saturdays to swing these 83 precincts.

Why We Win
In past elections held in Pennsylvania, the proof is in election results - so goes the Southeast, so goes Pennsylvania. And over the past 20 years of elections, Southeast counties; Philadelphia, Montgomery,

Chester and Delaware have all gone Blue and Bucks county to Purple. However, in this 2012 election, we will win back Montgomery County for the conservative right. Why is our confidence high? Is it because of our organized, planned door-to door strategy? Yes. Is it our door-knocking plan - specific to targeting registered Independents in 83 swing precincts? Yes.

How We Win
In these swing precincts in the progressive parts of Montgomery county (closest to Philadelphia, PA), passed elections were won in 83 precincts by Democrats because of 2 votes and not greater than 119 votes; with both parties breaking even throughout the 450 precincts. Our organized, planned action brings our volunteers to visit these 83 precincts (or 1/5 of all precincts) - walk to talk to registered Independents and to place issues-based literature in their hands at their doors; for no-answers, an issue-oriented door hanger is used.

We are in the process of finding funding for our project.
Does anyone know a printing company that is friendly to our cause?

Brigitte Gabriel

CLICK HERE to view Brigitte's special video invitation!

It is my privilege to invite you to a special event featuring Brigitte Gabriel, Founder and President of ACT! for America. This event is free and open to the public and will be held at the following:

Chestnut Assembly of God
2554 E. Chestnut Ave.
Vineland, NJ 08360
Thursday, September 27th at 7 pm

Ms. Gabriel will speak on the rise of Islamic radicalism in your community and in our nation. Her story of survival as a persecuted Christian living in a bomb shelter for 7 years will have you captivated and inspired! She will share how the events of 9/11 compelled her to start ACT! for America, the largest national security grassroots organization in the U.S.

The events over the past eighteen months have been a sobering wake-up call to America. Without question, the threats radical Islam poses to America have increased.

Brigitte will discuss these threats to our security and our freedoms, such as...

  • The growing threat of homegrown jihad, with the number of such jihadist plots skyrocketing over the past two years.
  • How terrorists are exploiting our porous southern border, often working with drug cartels.
  • The increasingly militant-and successful-effort by Islamists worldwide to suppress free speech and criminalize any criticism of Islam.
  • The growing Muslim Brotherhood threat and how Islamic sharia law is creeping into America.
  • How the history and doctrines of Islam are being misrepresented in public school textbooks and classrooms.
For a taste of what is in store for you, check out Brigitte's speech at one of our recent events:

http://www.tennessean.com/VideoNetwork/1271237687001/ACT-for-America-founder-speaks-at-anti-Shariah-conference-in-Nashville

You will hear first-hand how ACT! for America is successfully rolling back the tide of radical Islam...how we are winning legislative victories...how we don't have to live in fear or resign ourselves to the inevitability of the threats arrayed against us...and how we will prevail.

I encourage you to forward this email to everyone you know. They may forward it to someone they know who may not only attend, but will invite others to come! We are sending this email to our members in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland because we know from prior experience, that many people are not only willing to travel to hear Brigitte speak, but are willing to bring others with them.

I know those of you who have heard Brigitte will agree-you don't want to miss this! It will be an event people will be talking about for a long time to come!

Invite your friends and come join us in Vineland, NJ! We look forward to seeing you on September 27th.

Activate: How to turn the 2012 election from a close call to a mandate

Last night, Glenn focused on the importance of commitment. He was the first to admit, a lot of last night's show was something you had heard before - but it's important to start at the beginning and to make sure you know what you believe before you get put into action. And tonight, Glenn revealed ways for you to really get moving!

Tonight, the focus of the show was "Activate" - and it was all about the election and how you can make sure that one way or another - 2012 is a year for a mandate for or against the progressives. And if you think it doesn't matter just take a look at what is happening right now in Wisconsin. Progressives and unions are doing everything they can to make sure that Walker loses. It's a microcosm to what is happening around the country, and Glenn thought it was so important that he recapped it on tonight's show (in under three minutes!):

Dear Friends,

We have 56 days left to stop the American Nation from becoming the Obama Nation.

If we give this president four more years, he will finish the job of remolding America into a hard-core keynesian state resembling some of the most economically dependent

Citizens United

Today I am proud to announce the launch of a groundbreaking documentary that will rattle the political establishment. Citizens United Productions' newest film "The Hope and The Change" examines the surprising journey of forty Americans - Democrats and Independents - who supported and voted for President Obama four years ago.

The powerful voices in "The Hope and The Change" will resonate with many citizens across the country who are disillusioned with the Presidency of Barack Obama. This persuasive documentary will change many minds and get people off the fence and into the game.

That is why it is so important for as many people as possible to see it. The film will premiere during the RNC in Tampa next Tuesday (please register for free tickets NOW at www.CitizensUnited.org/RNC) and is set for a limited theatrical release in September.

The good news is that you can also be the first to order the film on DVD TODAY!

This 60 minute documentary follows the daily lives of hard-working Democrats and Independents through unscripted and unrehearsed interviews. Viewers will see how their nation's economy and society has changed over the past four years under the policies of President Obama.

The diverse cast of "The Hope and The Change" encompasses a broad cross-section of America's racial and socio-economic spectrum who come from seven swing states that experts say will decide the 2012 presidential election. Writer/Director Stephen K. Bannon and I traveled to Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia to search out these authentic American stories from citizens who have lost faith in their President.

President Obama campaigned in 2008 on "Hope" and "Change" but these stories reflect the sentiment across America that the country has changed for the worse. The voices of everyday Americans in this film will have a major impact on the debates that are currently raging across America.

"The Hope and The Change" will be a powerful tool in your arsenal this fall as you discuss the fate of this country with your friends, family, and neighbors.

Order it TODAY to watch and send to the people in your life who are undecided and apathetic about this election.

Sincerely,

David N. Bossie
President of Citizens United

P.S. The tapestry of real American voices in 'The Hope and The Change' will resonate with many citizens who are disappointed in the direction of the country. Help us get it into their hands by ORDERING YOUR COPIES TODAY!

Occupy Unmasked

I have some very exciting news! Citizens United Productions has just announced an all rights distribution deal for our newest film Occupy Unmasked with Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, owned by Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner. Magnet is giving the film a limited theatrical release with VOD in late September to be followed by the DVD release. I've attached the full press release at the bottom of this email.

While the Liberal establishment and mainstream media portray the Occupy Wall Street movement as organic and nonviolent, Occupy Unmasked reveals the sinister, organized, and highly orchestrated nature of its leaders and their number one goal: Not just to change government, but to destroy it.

Led by hugely influential conservative visionary, the late Andrew Breitbart, Occupy Unmasked delves deep beneath the surface of the Occupy movement to show its dark anarchist roots. Behind the largely naïve students and legitimately concerned citizens looking for answers stand those who advocate the use of violence, black bloc operations, and intimidation as protest tactics - the same tactics they used during the anti-war protests of the 1960's, anti-nuclear weapons protests of the 80's, WTO protests of the 90's, and the IMF protests of recent years.

Former leftists turned patriotic citizen journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy, Lee Stranahan, and others take viewers into the Occupy camps around the country to see first-hand the truth of what is happening and who is at the heart of the movement. Exclusive footage and eyewitness accounts tell the story of the criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps - much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media.

Directed by Stephen K. Bannon (The Undefeated, Generation Zero), Occupy Unmasked is an eye-opening look at a startling movement that could have a dangerous impact on the future of America.

David N. Bossie

P.S. We continue to take pre-orders so be the first to own Occupy Unmasked on DVD by purchasing TODAY!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Magnet Releasing to Distribute Andrew Breitbart Doc OCCUPY UNMASKED

New York, August 6, 2012 - The Wagner/Cuban Company's Magnet Releasing announced today an all rights distribution deal for Citizens United Productions' documentary OCCUPY UNMASKED, one of the last projects featuring the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart. OCCUPY UNMASKED was written and directed by award-winning director Stephen K. Bannon and produced by David N. Bossie. Magnet is giving the film a limited theatrical release day and date with VOD in late September.

"This film is controversial, and that's exactly the reason we want to ensure it can find its audience prior to the November elections," said Mark Cuban, co-owner of Magnet. "I look forward to our partnership with Citizens United Productions and to getting this film out to the masses."

OCCUPY UNMASKED takes viewers into the Occupy Wall Street camps around the country in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Portland, Denver and Oakland for an up-close look at what's happened there and who's at the heart of the movement, documenting criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps - much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media. In addition to Andrew Breitbart, the film features journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy, and Lee Stranahan.

"I am proud to announce that Citizens United Productions is teaming up with Mark Cuban and Magnet to distribute OCCUPY UNMASKED, and elevate the film the Left does not want the American people to see," said Producer David N. Bossie. "This distribution deal will keep the groundbreaking work of the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart alive for years to come."

"As a dear friend of Andrew's, I could not be more thrilled that this deal got completed and all Americans will have an opportunity to see one of Andrew Breitbart's final pieces of work," said writer/director Stephen K. Bannon. "This film is important because it sheds new light on the myth of the Occupy Wall Street movement. I know audiences across the country will be startled by what we uncovered in this explosive documentary."

Unelectable 2012

Unelectable 2012 When you think of the great presidential debates throughout history, there's Lincoln and Douglas in 1858, Kennedy and Nixon in 1960, and then there is Glenn's new live comedy stage show, Unelectable 2012.

Since Glenn couldn't personally visit every city in America on his Unelectable 2012 tour, he has decided that the final show will be simulcast LIVE in movie theaters all over the country, probably one in your town! Watch Glenn drown in his own sweat while you relax in air conditioning, eating nachos and Milk Duds.

This is an amazingly funny show, the kind of presidential debate that you'll never actually see because Glenn plays a candidate who tells the truth! Joined by the writers and performers of GBTV's sketch comedy show, The B.S. of A., many are saying it could be the funniest show Glenn's ever done, and it ends with an inspiring message that will have you on your feet full of hope. It's a night of fun the whole family can enjoy! With the election season we've got in front of us, this may be the only "funny-on-purpose" thing related to politics for years to come.

Understanding America

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE PEOPLE?

What Is the Role of the People? "In the United States, government requires not merely the consent of the governed. It rests ultimately on the ability of the people to govern themselves."

As the presidential election approaches, the choices before our nation have never been more critical. The final volume in the Understanding America series, What is the Role of the People?

, examines the great responsibility the Founders bestowed upon us, the American people.

The Founders built the United States on the fundamental principle that we have the right to govern ourselves. To govern effectively, we must ensure our society's continued virtue and freedom, and pass the inheritance of freedom on to each new generation.

Authored by Heritage Foundation President Edwin Feulner, this final volume in the
Understanding Americaseries explores how and why we must live up to our responsibilities in maintaining the Founders' vision. Learn more in What is the Role of the People?

The United States' foreign policy exists, first and foremost, to defend the independence and interests of its people. But America also has a unique responsibility to uphold and advance the universal principles of liberty upon which it was founded. How Must America Balance Security and Liberty? How Must America Balance Security and Liberty?
America's Founders recognized that the nation's security and its peoples' liberty are not opposed. Rather, security is necessary for the flourishing of liberty. Since its founding, America has promoted security and protected liberty by pursuing policies that strengthen both. This volume in the Understanding America series explores the ways in which the Constitution's Framers sought to protect liberty, and shows that the goals of ensuring security and respecting liberty can and must be reconciled. The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq

Jul 18th, 2012

Daniel Greenfield's new Freedom Center pamphlet, The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq, is an effort to understand the politics of the "war on terror" which has now reached a final punctuation point with the U.S. decision to speed its withdrawal from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan (where success was once deemed so crucial to national security), and to practice an incoherent form of regime change in Libya while ignoring more serious threats in Syria and Iran.

The war on terror began, Greenfield shows, as an admirable bipartisan commitment soon after the tragedy of 9/11-an effort to transcend party lines not only to punish those who attacked our country but also to interrupt planning for further attacks and try to stop the international spread of the Islamic jihad behind the attacks. But the Democratic Party, with the honorable exception of a few individuals like Richard Gephardt and Joe Lieberman, turned its back on a war soon after authorizing it, and did so at a time when American troops were facing hostile enemy fire.

Although Senate Democrats on the intelligence oversight committee had been granted access to every piece of data available to the White House, they now accused President Bush of tricking them to secure their approval. In fact, their own about-face was entirely dictated by political considerations when a Sixties antiwar activist, Howard Dean, surged ahead in the Democratic primary polls and it appeared for a moment that Americans were on the side of retreat and capitulation.

Although regime change in Iraq had been official U.S. policy since Bill Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, Democratic senators such as John Kerry who only months earlier had supported the war effort now launched demoralizing attacks on the American commander-in-chief and his troops in the field, stigmatizing it as "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time." If the truth was the first casualty of their war against the Bush administration, the second casualty was the principle of bi-partisanship that had guided foreign policy debates throughout the Cold War, the principle that "politics stops at the water's edge." Now partisan politics trumped security.

The unrestrained attacks on the Iraq War as illegal and unjustified went largely unanswered by Republicans who failed to call the Democratic saboteurs of the nation's war effort to account or to decry the risk their cynical attacks posed to American servicemen and women on the battlefield. As Greenfield demonstrates, the Democrats' partisanship had consequences not only in Iraq but elsewhere in the region: the paralysis that resulted from their "anti-war" campaign led straight to the destruction of Lebanon and the installation of a terrorist army, Hezbollah, there as a regime within a regime. And it emboldened an overtly Islamofascist regime in Iran not only to supply the IEDs responsible for most of our troop fatalities in Iraq but also to proceed with a nuclear program aimed directly at Israel and the West.

The Great Betrayal shows that Barack Obama's abandonment of Iraq is a betrayal of all the Americans and Iraqis who gave their lives to establish freedom in that country. And the result of his policies in Afghanistan has been as disastrous. While the President presented his rationale for pursuing war there as the pursuit of al-Qaeda, after abandoning his "surge" (which resulted in two thirds of all America's Afghan casualties there and the resurgence of the Taliban allies of al-Qaeda), he blithely prepared for withdrawal as if national objectives had been met.

"Losing our Sons": Documentary looks at domestic Islamic radicalization and jihadization

Losing Our SonsCharles Jacobs at Americans for Peace and Tolerance announced today the release of a trailer for their upcoming documentary, "Losing Our Sons", featuring Melvin Bledsoe - father of domestic terrorist Carlos Bledsoe aka Abdulhakim Mohamed who gunned down US Army recruiter Pvt. William Long at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2009. Melvin Bledsoe testified at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing earlier this month.

The upcoming documentary discusses how Bledsoe was radicalized by the Muslim Student Association in Tennessee and sent to terrorist training in Yemen with the written recommendation of the imam of a Nashville mosque. It also discusses how the agents of radicalization in the Nashville Muslim community have been aided by collaborators in the establishment media, politics and the so-called "interfaith" community.

Hillsdale constituion class

Hillsdale's New FREE Online Course:
The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism

Available to you, your family, your friends,
and all Americans.

Begins September 4, 2012 - Sign Up TODAY!

Dear Linda,
In 2012 our Constitution is under assault like never before.

Even as I write, self-described Progressives are working to subvert the Constitution to replace it with an ever more expansive and intrusive bureaucratic despotism.

My name is Larry Arnn and I'm the President of Hillsdale College.  You might have heard Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and other conservative radio hosts talk about Hillsdale College.

The ongoing radical Progressive agenda poses a serious threat to the survival of free government in our great nation.  At Hillsdale, we believe that a massive, nationwide education project to promote America's founding principles is the only way to defeat this Progressive agenda.

As one of our most loyal supporters, you've been an important part of Hillsdale's effort to educate Americans on the importance of preserving our Constitution.

That's why I want you to be one of the first to know about our brand new online course:

"The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and
the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism."

The first class begins on Tuesday, September 4 and the final one will occur during the week of the national elections in November. I hope you'll sign up immediately.

[Register for this new course right now.]

In this no-cost, ten-week course, you'll learn from members of Hillsdale's politics department faculty - some of the nation's top scholars on the Constitution - about the history of Progressivism and how the movement has slowly chiseled away at our freedoms over the past century.

With Hillsdale's outstanding reputation as a leading academic institution, this course offers you a unique educational experience that you won't be able to get anywhere else.

Earlier this year Hillsdale offered its first online course on the Constitution.  And in doing so it made a major impact with more than 275,000 Americans registering for "Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution."
We expect our newest course - The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism - to attract even more attention.  And I hope you will be one of the registrants!

Here are the ten lecture topics for the course...

Why is Hillsdale teaching a course on the Progressive movement?

Americans who believe in constitutional liberty and limited government need to understand what they're up against, so Hillsdale designed this course to teach Americans the history of Progressivism and how it continues to work to ignore and dismantle the U.S. Constitution.

From its intellectual origins in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, to the massive government expansions under FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society, to the third great expansion of big-government programs during the past three years, Progressives are making our country unrecognizable in comparison to the constitutional republic created by America's Founding Fathers.

To understand fully this attack on limited government constitutionalism, and thus to know what is needed to stem the tide, take Hillsdale's new online Constitution course, which starts on September 4 and concludes the week of the national elections in November.

PLEASE GO HERE TO REGISTER NOW.

AND, like all Hillsdale online courses, it will be archived online so that you can refer back to the lectures or access them at your leisure.

I have the privilege of delivering the first lecture, "The Founders' Constitution and the Challenge of Progressivism," and the final lecture, "Restoring Constitutional Government." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.

[Go here to see the course's schedule and register]

I am proud, thanks to your past support and the support of many patriotic Americans, that Hillsdale College is teaching hundreds of thousands of Americans about the Constitution and its principles of liberty. This course is crucial for all Americans who want to understand the dangers confronting the Constitution and its principles today. I hope YOU will join us for this important course!

As President of Hillsdale College, I have devoted my life to education, and in particular to teaching about the American founding, its underlying principles, and subsequent constitutional history.

The last chapter in that history, covering the past century, tells a story about how the progressive movement has undermined the Constitution and replaced it with a bureaucratic despotism - if we are to recover the Constitution, that story must be understood.

That is why we are offering this new course, free, to all Americans.

[Please go here to enroll in our new Constitution Course: "The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism" Today]

The more than 275,000 who signed up for our first constitution course last spring prove that Americans are willing and eager to study and defend the Constitution and the principles that made our country the most free and most prosperous in human history!

I hope you will sign up for our new course and help continue this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution.

OUR CHALLENGE

With your help, Hillsdale College is dedicated to returning the Constitution to its rightful place at the center of American political life.

If our republic does not re-embrace the Constitution, we will not be able to reclaim the liberty that has been lost, and may yet lose the liberty we still have.

For a donation of $50, I'll send you a complimentary copy of my recently-published hardbound book. Its title is:

THE FOUNDERS' KEY: THE DIVINE AND NATURAL CONNECTION BETWEEN THE DECLARATION AND THE CONSTITUTION AND WHAT WE RISK BY LOSING IT

With your gift of $25, I'll send you a custom-engraved blue and silver Hillsdale pen as a token of our appreciation for your support.

Your gift, of whatever amount you can provide, will help make it possible for us to offer this important course on the Constitution to all Americans. And for that I am grateful.

RedState Morning Briefing

RedState Morning Briefing

For September 11, 2012

On this day eleven years ago our nation came under attack. The tragedy of that day still brings anger and sadness to many of us. But on that day, Americans from all walks of life came together, stood up, and helped those who needed help and fought back. We will never forget. And today, we all pause and offer a special prayer for those we lost, those we love, and those who fought and fight to keep us free.

God bless,

Erick

1. Bill Clinton's Bounce: How Media Conventional Wisdom Works

Polling is reflecting Bill Clinton's bounce out of the Democratic National Convention. You wouldn't know that if you listened to most of the media, but the bounce belonged not to Obama, but to Clinton. Fortunately for the GOP, Barack Obama is no Bill Clinton. It must privately grate on Barack Obama.

The media narrative is all about Barack Obama. He's going to win. He's ahead. Forget the economic numbers. Let me explain how the media shapes conventional wisdom.

2. Sometimes a Cake Really Is A Cake. Sometimes a Polling Trend Really is Accurate.

The Romney campaign this morning put out a memo telling everyone to calm down, don't worry, things are fine. Superficially, I agree. Bill Clinton helped Barack Obama more than Mitt Romney helped himself in the past few weeks. But the economic numbers are really not good and things on the horizon appear to be getting worse. Voters will start factoring in those variables in the coming week.

Along the way though there is an annoying trend of intellectual tomfoolery happening on the right.

3. Newspapers Enable PolitiFact Ohio's Liberal Bias

PolitiFact Ohio - the "fact checking" wing of the Cleveland Plain Dealer - faces proof of staffers' liberal bias after two years of being cited as an authority by all six of Ohio's major newspapers. Although a recent Media Trackers report debunked the outlet's claim to objectivity, most of the state's biggest dailies continue to treat PolitiFact Ohio as an objective source.

On August 16, Media Trackers published evidence that Plain Dealer writer Tom Feran "fact checks" conservative politicians for PolitiFact Ohio while calling conservatives "yahoos" and "wingnuts" on a personal Twitter account brimming with his far-left opinions.

Feran is a Democrat, based on voter registration records - and so are PolitiFact Ohio editors Robert Higgs and Jane Kahoun, as well as prominent PolitiFact Ohio contributors Henry Gomez, Aaron Marshall, and Reginald Fields.

4. Chicago Teachers Union Uses Kids As Pawns: Karen Lewis' Train Wreck That Could've Been Avoided

Early this morning, 26,000 Chicago teachers walked out on 400,000 Chicago kids, abandoning the classroom for the picket lines. Anytime, teachers abandon school kids, it is the children and their parents who suffer the greatest-and Chicago Teachers Union knows this. As the union had been negotiating for months with the offcials in Chicago Public School system, the union could have struck anytime during the summer. Instead, the union's strike was deliberately chosen to have the most impact-on the children and their parents.

To be clear, this is Karen Lewis' strike. Any leader (whether leading a mob of Visigoths, or striking union members) bears the responsibility of choosing to where and when to lead his or her troops into battle. In Karen Lewis case, by her own admission, negotiations were "intense, but productive."

5. India, Abbottabad, and Osama bin Laden: Did New Delhi Assist the U.S. on Operation Neptune Spear?

The most-discussed "revelation" in No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission that Killed Osama bin Laden, by former Navy SEAL "Mark Owen," is certainly Osama bin Laden's status as unarmed when he was shot twice in the head by an American operator in his Abbottabad house. Not only was the al Qaeda leader and terror mastermind not holding a weapon when he was killed, but his guns weren't even loaded, despite more than ten minutes' warning - after a hard landing by a Black Hawk helicopter and a firefight at the guest house - that his compound was under attack. After bin Laden was killed, Owen writes, the SEAL "took each weapon down and pulled out the magazine and checked the chambers. They were both empty. He hadn't even prepared a defense. He had no intention of fighting."

Act for America

Congrats to our friends at APT!

One of the things we find so troubling is how many people in the media, government and academia are willing to defend radical Muslims and radical Muslim organizations, no matter how much damning information is exposed about them.

So congratulations are in order for our friends at Americans for Peace and Tolerance (APT). According to an APT release below, their excellent work and perseverance recently led to Northeastern University terminating its relationship with Muslim chaplain Abdullah Faaruuq.

Video Exposes Northeastern University's Muslim Chaplain Abdullah Faaruuq as an Islamist extremist

University Terminates Relationship with Imam Faaruuq

www.peaceandtolerance.org

Islamic Extremism @ Northeastern University
Islamic Extremism @ Northeastern University
Boston, MA,September 5, 2012 -- Americans for Peace and Tolerance (APT) today released a video (www.nuextremism.com) showing Northeastern University's Muslim Chaplain, Imam Abdullah Faaruuq to be a supporter of convicted Islamist terrorists, and a religious leader who is inciting Boston Muslims against the U.S government.

"Our video shows that there is a culture of extremism at the Islamic Society of Northeastern University (ISNU) - the Muslim student group on campus under the leadership of its spiritual advisor, Imam Faaruuq," said human rights activist Dr. Charles Jacobs, APT President.

Just days after a description of the findings documented in the video were published in the Boston Jewish Advocate, and the video's imminent public release was announced, Imam Faaruuk's page on the Northeastern website was removed.

Charles Jacobs, President of APT said, "His relationship with Northeastern University has been terminated." We commend Northeastern's President Joseph Aoun for this, but more needs to be done. We need to understand how this was allowed to persist for years, and we need to be sure there are processes in place to monitor and correct any teachings of hate at the University.

APT's video, "Islamic Extremism @ Northeastern University," (www.nuextremism.com) describes Imam Faaruuq's history of extremism. In the early 1990s, Faaruuq developed an association with Aafia Siddiqui, Pakistani born, young MIT student and one of the most active members of an Al Qaeda cell of activists who were followers of the Egyptian Blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Aafia attended Faaruuq's Boston mosque and worked with Faaruuq to distribute Jihadist literature to Massachussetts prisons, where he had also served as a Muslim chaplain.

In 2004, FBI Director Robert Mueller described Aafia Siddiqui as one of the seven most wanted Al Qaeda terrorists. In 2008 Siddiqui was arrested in Afghanistan and charged with attempted murder of FBI agents. In her possession were plans for a chemical attack on New York City and a large amount of cyanide. In 2010, she was convicted and sentenced to 86 years in jail.

In lectures around Boston, Faaruuq has called on Boston Muslims to defend Siddiqui because "after they're finished with Aafia, they're gonna come to your door." He told worshippers to not be afraid to "grab onto the gun and the sword, go out into this world and do your job."

Since Siddiqui's arrest, Northeastern Chaplain Abdullah Faaruuq has been speaking out on her behalf and inciting Boston Muslims against the U.S. Government. In 2009, he began supporting another local extremist, Tarek Mehanna, who was arrested and convicted in April 2012 on terror charges. Faaruuq participated with Northeastern students in demonstrations in support of Mehanna.

Mehanna's co-conspirator was Ahmad Abusamra, a Northeastern University graduate who fled to Syria. Abusamra's father was a leader and associate of Imam Faaruuq at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center (ISBCC).

"It's very hard to understand why Northeastern administration has for so long tolerated the troubling and extremist influence of Chaplain Faaruuk on Northeastern's Muslim student organization," Jacobs said. "Until we began exposing Faaruuq in 2010, the ISNU website openly promoted to Northeastern Muslim students radical books and extremist leaders who call for jihad, the genocide of Jews, and death for homosexuals.

"We are concerned," Jacobs said, that extremist influence on Muslim students at Northeastern might be a factor in inciting terrorism. Recently another Northeastern graduate, Rezwan Ferdaus, pleaded guilty to plotting an attack on the Pentagon and Capitol buildings in Washington."

Northeastern's President Aoun, was recently appointed to an academic advisory board that reports to the Department of Homeland Security on how universities can contribute to antiterrorism efforts. Aoun told the Boston Globe that "we need more research and training related to security." Perhaps Aoun felt that his own Northeastern campus was an appropriate place to start," Jacobs said.

"The apparent dismissal of Chaplain Faaruuq by President Aoun is commendable, Jacobs said, "It demonstrates the kind of leadership that is required on many college campuses which harbor hate promoting extremists."

"Leaving Faaruuq in place would have meant a continual betrayal of of Muslim parents who may not be aware that their children are being radicalized on its campus," he added.

Jacobs called on Northeastern University to take additional steps in dealing with Islamist extremism on campus, and reduce the threat of further radicalization of Northeastern's Muslim students.

"President Aoun needs to investigate The Islamic Society of Northeastern's, activities, funding sources and any radical influences, as well as - and perhaps especially -- any radical faculty members who promote hate on campus," he said.

Canada closes Iran embassy, expels remaining Iranian diplomats

Ottawa Bureau Chief

OTTAWA-Canada has suspended diplomatic ties with Iran, plunging relations between the two nations to their worst level in years and raising fears about the fate of Canadians on death row in the Middle East nation.

In a surprise move Friday, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced that Canada was closing its embassy in Tehran and expelling Iranian diplomats from Canada as it formally declared Iran a state sponsor of terrorism.

Baird branded Iran as the "most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today."

He cited a list of long-standing beefs with the regime in Tehran as justification for the abrupt move, including Iranian military assistance to Syria and its refusal to comply with United Nations resolutions on its nuclear program.

"It routinely threatens the existence of Israel and engages in racist anti-Semitic rhetoric and incitement to genocide; it is among the world's worst violators of human rights," Baird told reporters in Vladivostok, Russia.

Pressed on why Canada decided to act now on grievances it's had for months and years, Baird said only, "There's just a long list of reasons why we're coming to this decision."

But he said the main motivation was an attack on the British embassy in Tehran nine months ago and worries that Canadian diplomats were in danger.

Next Year in Jerusalem

Posted: 09 Sep 2012 10:01 AM PDT

At the climax of the Yom Kippur services, and the conclusion of the Jewish High Holy Days, some two weeks from now, millions of Jews around the world will cry out, "Next Year in Jerusalem", expressing their hope for a final redemption.

There is a similar faith at the heart of the DNC's amended platform which states, "Jerusalem is and will remain the capital of Israel. The parties have agreed that Jerusalem is a matter for final status negotiations."

Like the Jews praying for Jerusalem, the DNC's platform supports a Jerusalem as Israel's capital that is not a material Jerusalem, but a spiritual Jerusalem, a place that will come into being only when the messiah of the peace process has come and the terrorists have put down their guns and after twenty or two thousand or twenty thousand years have agreed to some final status agreement that falls short of making full territorial claims on the capital of Jerusalem.

The DNC's platform is a properly devout expression of faith, not in G-d and not in the rights of Israelis, but in the peace process. After twenty years of peace and terror, next year the peace process will finally culminate in a final status agreement. And that expression of the DNC's faith in the goodwill of terrorists is hardly reassuring to Israelis or American Jews.

Obama continued to struggle:

Now the war begins. Not the war between campaigns, but rather the war between the old media and the new. The old: clinging desperately to a crumbling monopoly in hopes of holding on just long enough to shape a narrative that will result in the re-election of President Obama.

Our U.S. Federal debt is reaching a tipping point. Just four years ago, economists feared that our public debt would reach 60% of the GDP by 2022. Failure to curtail spending and to pass a budget, in addition to piling on massive new spending, has hurled us past that 60% benchmark twelve years earlier than [...]

Democrats have work where they didn't expect it: getting Blacks on board

Sep 10, 2012 06:13 am | Coach Collins

By Emma Karlin, staff writer

 1)  The last time African American ministers told their congregations NOT to vote for a Democrat was in 1908. In 1912, using lies and false promises of a "cabinet position" to   W.E.B. Dubois the deeply racist Woodrow Wilson tricked him into being a Judas goat who would lead Blacks onto the Democrats' plantation. Before that African American were Republicans. Nevertheless, with Wilson's first term they gradually became more and more Democrat. But that was then and this is now.

Barack Obama has asked more and more of "his people" over his term in office. They have had to endure rising unemployment, bottom rung schools, crime ridden neighborhoods and being pushed aside in favor of the Democrats' "new best friends" the Hispanics.  Now Obama has asked them to put their Christian faith aside for his reelection. Obama has asked African Americans to accept homosexual marriage, something large numbers of Black people ... Continue Reading:Democrats have work where they didn't expect it: getting Blacks on board

American Minute September 9

Sep 09, 2012 06:13 pm | Coach Collins

By Bill Federer, staff writer

In 1769, the first Spanish missions were founded in California by Franciscan missionary Junipero Serra, whose statue is in the U.S. Capitol's Statuary Hall.
In 1822, Mexican Emperor Augustin Iturbide took California away from Spain and in 1833, Santa Anna's Vice-President, Gomez Farias, took all mission property away from the Church with the Mexican Secularization Act.
Attempting to explain this, the U.S. Board of Land Commissioners reasoned:
"The Missions were intended...to be temporary...It was supposed that within that period of time the Indians would be sufficiently instructed in Christianity and the arts of civilized life."
In 1849, the same year the U.S. acquired California, workers building a sawmill for John Sutter on the south fork of the American River, discovered gold.
Soon prospectors, called "Forty-Niners," arrived and California became the 31st State on SEPTEMBER 9, 1850.
Its Constitution, which prohibits slavery, stated:
"We, the People ... Continue Reading:American Minute September 9

Democrat platform attacks those who dare to refuse to believe in their Global warming hoax

Sep 09, 2012 01:13 pm | Coach Collins

By Derrick Hollenbeck, staff writer

The Democrats couldn't sell us Global warming and get us to sit by while they destroyed our economy and line their pockets with their sneaky Cap and Trade scheme. It seemed that every time their Champion of Fraud Al Gore scheduled a "Global Warming" rally in Washington, it snowed so they had to retool. They thought that just changing the name of their hoax to the more pliable "Climate Change" would fool us; after all, like Barack Obama, it actually stood for nothing and everything all at the same time. Nevertheless, it still hasn't worked.

Now they want to sell us these lies as "Environmental Justice" and make their hoax a part of "national security."  The same Barack Obama who has sent money and support to the Islamist terrorists who are rampaging through the Middle East and threatening our ally Israel; the same Barack Obama who reassured the Russians he would be ... Heritage Education Review

Fact Checking Duncan on Education Cuts  By Lindsey Burke

During remarks to attendees in Charlotte last week, Education Secretary Arne Duncan claimed that the budget passed by the House of Representatives would mean "fewer teachers in the classroom, fewer resources for poor kids and students with disabilities, [and] fewer after school programs."

However, the House budget does not designate specific cuts to K-12 education programs; it simply calls for reductions in non-defense discretionary spending over the next decade. Duncan, as he did in testimony earlier this year, is using unspecified spending reductions suggested in the budget to assume reductions in specific education programs-something the budget proposal does not do.

But even if federal education spending were to be cut by 20 percent-a goal worth pursuing-would that mean fewer teachers, fewer resources for poor and disabled students, and fewer after-school programs, as Duncan suggests?

An Honest Union Man: Why Unions Don't Like School Choice    Unions oppose vouchers because they allow students to attend non-union schools. The fact children given vouchers are substantially more likely to finish high school is a secondary concern.

25,000 Chicago Teachers Walk Off the Job  By Amy Payne    This morning, about 350,000 students in Chicago Public Schools will be without teachers.

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 57 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS

Gay Strippers For Obama

Friends, I know jobs and the economy are THE issues of this campaign, and on those issues alone Obama deserves to lose. He has given us the worst economic recovery in decades, and a recovery that in many ways is worse than the recession. That doesn't happen by accident.

Now, while many of you are working extra hours to make ends meet, making sacrifices to balance your budgets, meeting with your prayer groups, taking your children to Boy Scout meetings, getting to those parent-teacher conferences, etc., the Obama campaign is getting tremendous support from the radical gay rights movement.

There is an unbelievable story in today's Washington Post about an Obama fundraiser in a New York gay bar that featured "male dancers wearing Obama '08 boxer briefs" and thongs. They had a grand old time mocking us and our values, while raising money for their guy Barack.

My friends, elections have consequences. Not just for economic policies, but also for our values. And when it comes to our cherished values, Barack Obama's election has been an unmitigated disaster. I shudder to think what his reelection would mean for faith, family and freedom.

What IS He Doing?

Being president is a tough, demanding job unlike any other. I know -- I was there for all eight years of Ronald Reagan's presidency. So it's not surprising that, given the demands on the president's time, he can't be at every important meeting. The president must prioritize.

Exactly what are Obama's priorities? Jobs and the economy are the top priority of most Americans. But we learned in July that Obama's Jobs Council had not met in six months. Now Joe Biden is attacking proposals supported by the Jobs Council.

The president is also commander-in-chief. Maybe Mr. Obama has been busy attending to national security concerns. Then again, maybe not.

According to an analysis by the Government Accountability Institute, Obama has missed well more than half of the Presidential Daily Briefings, where the president is briefed on critical national security issues.

If he's not meeting with his Jobs Council and he's not attending his daily national security briefings, what is Obama doing?

While unemployment remains above 8% for a record 43 months, Obama has attended a record number of fundraisers, and he seems to have plenty of time for golf.

Don't Fall For The Trap

Obama appears to be getting a bounce out of the Democrat National Convention. The Romney campaign has lost its edge again in recent days. But don't fall for the media narrative that this election is over. You are being targeted by the left's propaganda.

They are using polls with distorted samples. Almost every talking head on TV, many of whom used to work for the Democrats, is now reading from Democrat talking points. Liberals are going on conservative websites and posting hateful, vitriolic messages. All of this is being done to suppress our vote, and to dissuade you from supporting and volunteering for conservative candidates.

There are trouble spots like Ohio, but Wisconsin and New Mexico appear to be in play. There are indications that Democrats are pulling ad money out of North Carolina. Over the weekend, Rasmussen reported that Obama was up only one point in 11 swing states.

The bottom line is that this election is far from over, and each of us must do everything we can in the days and weeks ahead to make sure that Barack Obama is a one-term president!

Do the Polls Show that the Election is Over and Obama Will be Reelected?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe polls don't look that great for Romney at this time. A couple of polls have Obama up five points. I don't understand how President Obama's approval rating is around 42 percent and yet 49 percent of voters say they're going to vote for him again.

I suspect that there are people who disapprove of Obama and Romney and won't vote for anybody in November. Some are disenchanted Democrats and Republicans. Of course, there are the Libertarians, followers of Ron Paul, and Constitution Party supporters who most likely did not vote in 2008 so their non-votes don't mean much since they've already been factored in. Or is it out?

The Daily Rant

BEST SUMMATION OF BARACK AND MICHELLE EVER!

Mychal Massie is a respected writer and talk show host in Los Angeles.

The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn't like the Obama's? Specifically I was asked: "I have to ask, why do you hate the Obama's? It seems personal, not policy related. You even dissed (disrespect) their Christmas family picture."

The truth is I do not like the Obamas, what they represent, their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and legislation. I've made no secret of my contempt for the Obamas. As I responded to the person who asked me the aforementioned question, I don't like them because they are committed to the fundamental change of my/our country into what can only be regarded as a Communist state.

I don't hate them per definition, but I condemn them because they are the worst kind of racialists, they are elitist Leninists with contempt for traditional America. They display disrespect for the sanctity of the office he holds, and for those who are willing to admit same, Michelle Obama's raw contempt for white America is transpicuous.

I don't like them because they comport themselves as emperor and empress. I expect, no I demand respect, for the Office of President and a love of our country and her citizenry from the leader entrusted with the governance of same. President and Mrs. Reagan displayed an unparalleled love for the country and her people. The Reagan's made Americans feel good about themselves and about what we could accomplish. Obama's arrogance by appointing 32 leftist czars and constantly bypassing congress is impeachable. Eric Holder is probably the MOST incompetent and arrogant DOJ head to ever hold the job. Could you envision President Reagan instructing his Justice Department to act like jack-booted thugs?

Presidents are politicians and all politicians are known and pretty much expected to manipulate the truth, if not outright lie, but even using that low standard, the Obama's have taken lies, dishonesty, deceit, mendacity, subterfuge and obfuscation to new depths. They are verbally abusive to the citizenry, and they display an animus for civility.

I do not like them, because they both display bigotry overtly, as in the case of Harvard Professor Louis Gates, when he accused the Cambridge Police of acting stupidly, and her code speak pursuant to now being able to be proud of America. I view that statement and that mindset as an insult to those who died to provide a country where a Kenyan, his illegal alien relatives, and his alleged progeny, could come and not only live freely, but rise to the highest, most powerful, position in the world. Michelle Obama is free to hate and disparage whites because Americans of every description paid with their blood to ensure her right to do same.

I have a saying, that "the only reason a person hides things, is because they have something to hide." No president in history has spent millions of dollars to keep his records and his past sealed.

And what the two of them have shared has been proved to be lies. He lied about when and how they met, he lied about his mother's death and problems with insurance, Michelle lied to a crowd pursuant to nearly $500,000 bank stocks they inherited from his family. He has lied about his father's military service, about the civil rights movement, ad nausea. He lied to the world about the Supreme Court in a State of the Union address. He berated and publicly insulted a sitting Congressman. He has surrounded himself with the most rabidly, radical, socialist academicians today. He opposed rulings that protected women and children that even Planned Parenthood did not seek to support. He is openly hostile to business and aggressively hostile to Israel. His wife treats being the First Lady as her personal American Express Black Card (arguably the most prestigious credit card in the world). I condemn them because, as people are suffering, losing their homes, their jobs, their retirements, he and his family are arrogantly showing off their life of entitlement - as he goes about creating and fomenting class warfare.

I don't like them, and I neither apologize nor retreat from my public condemnation of them and of his policies. We should condemn them for the disrespect they show our people, for his willful and unconstitutional actions pursuant to obeying the Constitutional parameters he is bound by, and his willful disregard for Congressional authority.

Dislike for them has nothing to do with the color of their skin; it has everything to do with their behavior, attitudes, and policies. And I have open scorn for their constantly playing the race card.

It is my intention to do all within my ability to ensure their reign is one term. I could go on, but let me conclude with this. I condemn in the strongest possible terms the media for refusing to investigate them, as they did President Bush and President Clinton, and for refusing to label them for what they truly are. There is no scenario known to man, whereby a white president and his wife could ignore laws, flaunt their position, and lord over the people, as these two are permitted out of fear for their color.

As I wrote in a syndicated column titled, "Nero In The White House" - "Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader. He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed. Even by the low standards of his presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequalled. Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood... Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected president, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation, and a commonality hitherto not witnessed in political leaders. He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement - while America's people go homeless, hungry and unemployed."

Semper Fidelis,

The Obamas display their colors at the Olympics...

Why Cronyism Is Always Bad

Posted: 10 Sep 2012 01:50 PM PDT

(John Hinderaker)

In today's Wall Street Journal, Charles Koch explains concisely why corporate cronyism, a hallmark of the Obama administration, is bad-not just when it's the other side's cronies, but bad, period:

"We didn't build this business-somebody else did."

So reads a sign outside a small roadside craft store in Utah. The message is clearly tongue-in-cheek. But if it hung next to the corporate offices of some of our nation's big financial institutions or auto makers, there would be no irony in the message at all.

It shouldn't surprise us that the role of American business is increasingly vilified or viewed with skepticism. In a Rasmussen poll conducted this year, 68% of voters said they "believe government and big business work together against the rest of us."

Businesses have failed to make the case that government policy-not business greed-has caused many of our current problems. To understand the dreadful condition of our economy, look no further than mandates such as the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac "affordable housing" quotas, directives such as the Community Reinvestment Act, and the Federal Reserve's artificial, below-market interest-rate policy.

Far too many businesses have been all too eager to lobby for maintaining and increasing subsidies and mandates paid by taxpayers and consumers. This growing partnership between business and government is a destructive force, undermining not just our economy and our political system, but the very foundations of our culture.

With partisan rhetoric on the rise this election season, it's important to remind ourselves of what the role of business in a free society really is-and even more important, what it is not.

The role of business is to provide products and services that make people's lives better-while using fewer resources-and to act lawfully and with integrity. Businesses that do this through voluntary exchanges not only benefit through increased profits, they bring better and more competitively priced goods and services to market. This creates a win-win situation for customers and companies alike.

Only societies with a system of economic freedom create widespread prosperity. Studies show that the poorest people in the most-free societies are 10 times better off than the poorest in the least-free. Free societies also bring about greatly improved outcomes in life expectancy, literacy, health, the environment and other important dimensions.

So why isn't economic freedom the "default setting" for our economy? What upsets this productive state of affairs? Trouble begins whenever businesses take their eyes off the needs and wants of consumers-and instead cast longing glances on government and the favors it can bestow. When currying favor with Washington is seen as a much easier way to make money, businesses inevitably begin to compete with rivals in securing government largess, rather than in winning customers.

We have a term for this kind of collusion between business and government. It used to be known as rent-seeking. Now we call it cronyism. Rampant cronyism threatens the economic foundations that have made this the most prosperous country in the world.

We are on dangerous terrain when government picks winners and losers in the economy by subsidizing favored products and industries. There are now businesses and entire industries that exist solely as a result of federal patronage. Profiting from government instead of earning profits in the economy, such businesses can continue to succeed even if they are squandering resources and making products that people wouldn't ordinarily buy.

Because they have the advantage of an uneven playing field, crony businesses can drive their legitimate competitors out of business. But in the longer run, they are unsustainable and unable to compete internationally (unless, of course, the government handouts are big enough). At least the Solyndra boondoggle ended when it went out of business.

By subsidizing and mandating politically favored products in the energy sector (solar, wind and biofuels, some of which benefit Koch Industries), the government is pushing up energy prices for all of us-five times as much in the case of wind-generated electricity. And by putting resources to less-efficient use, cronyism actually kills jobs rather than creating them. Put simply, cronyism is remaking American business to be more like government. It is taking our most productive sectors and making them some of our least.

The effects on government are equally distorting-and corrupting. Instead of protecting our liberty and property, government officials are determining where to send resources based on the political influence of their cronies. In the process, government gains even more power and the ranks of bureaucrats continue to swell.

Subsidies and mandates are just two of the privileges that government can bestow on politically connected friends. Others include grants, loans, tax credits, favorable regulations, bailouts, loan guarantees, targeted tax breaks and no-bid contracts. Government can also grant monopoly status, barriers to entry and protection from foreign competition.

Whatever form these privileges take, Americans are rightly suspicious of the cronyism that substitutes political influence for free markets. According to Rasmussen, two-thirds of the electorate are convinced that crony connections explain most government contracts-and that federal money will be wasted "if the government provides funding for a project that private investors refuse to back." Some 71% think "private sector companies and investors are better than government officials at determining the long-term benefits and potential of new technologies." Only 11% believe "government officials have a better eye for future value."

To end cronyism we must end government's ability to dole out favors and rig the market. Far too many well-connected businesses are feeding at the federal trough. By addressing corporate welfare as well as other forms of welfare, we would add a whole new level of understanding to the notion of entitlement reform.

If America re-establishes the proper role of business in society, all kinds of benefits will accrue. Our economy will rebound. Our liberties will be restored. And when President Obama tells an entrepreneur "You didn't build that," everyone will know better.

Too many people think cronyism is only bad when a government-subsidized business goes broke and the taxpayers lose money on their investment, as with Solyndra. Koch makes an important point, which is one I have also made from time to time: in some ways, Solyndra represents a best-case scenario. It is even worse when government subsidies allow a favored business to survive, and it is the other guy, the one without political influence, who goes out of business. Government largesse inherently distorts the market and hurts consumers as well as non-favored businesses and their employees and investors. And, of course, taxpayers.

Does The President Think This Is A Clancy Novel?

Posted: 10 Sep 2012 01:06 PM PDT

(Steven Hayward)

So we already know from the Woodward book that Obama and his staff didn't have a contact number to reach John Boehner on election night 2010 to congratulate the GOP on winning a House majority.  Let that sink in: the White House didn't know how to contact the House minority leader.  But don't forget: gridlock is the Republicans' fault.  (I'll add that I'm sure they'd like to lose Nancy Pelosi's phone number some times.)

But then there's this little detail in Woodward's book:

President Obama told author Bob Woodward that he didn't know Rep. Paul Ryan was going to attend at a major speech he delivered last year on spending and debt, and says in retrospect that it was "a mistake" to dress down Ryan and his budget plans to his face in that setting.

"I'll go ahead and say it - I think that I was not aware when I gave that speech that Jack Ryan was going to be sitting right there," the president told Woodward according to audio transcripts of their conversations, provided to ABC News.

"And so I did feel, in retrospect, had I known - we literally didn't know he was going to be there until - or I didn't know, until I arrived. I might have modified some of it so that we would leave more negotiations open, because I do think that they felt like we were trying to embarrass him," Obama continued. "We made a mistake."

Wait, what?  Did he really say Jack Ryan?  He did.  Good grief.

I also think this is a lie on Obama's part.  The White House arranged a first row seat for Ryan.  Surely someone knew he was coming.  This was unlikely to have been an accident.

Woodward? Woodward Who??

Posted: 10 Sep 2012 07:43 AM PDT

(Steven Hayward)

So Bob Woodward's latest insider book, The Price of Politics, goes on sale tomorrow.  Already some explosive details, most of them adverse to Obama and, moreover, inconvenient for the narrative that the problem in Washington is all the fault of Republicans, have begun to leak out.  I've always found Woodward's breathy narratives inadequate in many ways, because they are essentially just dumps of his reporter's notebook, with little serious or substantive interpretive framework of his own.  There's little attempt to figure out what else may have occurred or belongs in the ellipses of his reconstructed conversations.  His method, while delivering many mini-scoops, is vulnerable to manipulation from his sources, who undoubtedly leave out or spin things a certain way.  As Henry Kissinger once put it, no one ever comes out second-best in their recollection of events in DC.  Woodward's idiot-savant methodology therefore has little long-term historical value.

That said, his books during the Bush administration all created major sensations in the mainstream media.  Will this one?  Perhaps.  Woodward tells Diane Sawyer on ABC News about some of the ways in which the bad relations between Obama and the GOP were Obama's fault from the earliest days of his administration in 2009:

"There's this divided-man quality to President Obama always. Initially he meets with the congressional leaders, he says you know, 'We're going to be accommodating, we're going to listen, we're going to talk, we're going to compromise," Woodward said.

"But then they - Republicans ask some questions and challenge him a little bit and he says, 'Look I won. I'm in charge here,' " Woodward continued. "And the Republicans feel totally isolated and ostracized. And this was the beginning of a war."

I recall that early moment too, along with Nancy Pelosi saying of the Democrat-written stimulus bill, "We won the election; we wrote the bill," and contrasted this with how Reagan never would have said such a thing after either of his, ahem, landslides.  (Not to mention this entirely believable detail: "His administration's early decision to forego bipartisanship for the sake of speed around the stimulus bill was encapsulated by his then-chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel: 'We have the votes. F- 'em,' he's quoted in the book as saying.")

What we know of Woodward's account so far is that he seems to apportion more blame to Obama for the collapse of the "grand bargain" over the debt ceiling last year, and was upbraided by a staffer for Harry Reid, which is an amazing fact to ponder:

Obama sent word that he wanted the two Democratic leaders at the White House at 6 p.m. that Sunday, July 24. No reason was given.

Reid arrived in the Oval Office with his chief of staff, David Krone.

"Harry," the president began, "I hear you have kind of an outline, a framework of something."

Reid began to lay out the two-step $2.7 -trillion debt limit extension, then stopped. He was not a details guy. "Well, let David just tell you what it is," he said.

It was highly unusual for someone to pass the ball so completely to a staffer. The 44-year-old Krone outlined the plan, including a secret Republican pledge to count $1 trillion in savings from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan toward deficit reduction. That was surprising. Earlier, Boehner had not been willing to accept this accounting gimmick.

"I don't trust these guys," the president said dismissively.

Krone either would not or could not conceal his anger.

"Wait a second," Obama said, interrupting someone else who was about to speak. "I can tell David has something else to say."

"Mr. President, I am sorry - with all due respect - that we are in this situation that we're in, but we got handed this football on Friday night. And I didn't create this situation. The first thing that baffles me is, from my private-sector experience, the first rule that I've always been taught is to have a Plan B. And it is really disheartening that you, that this White House did not have a Plan B."

Several jaws dropped as the Hill staffer blasted the president to his face.

Again, as Jim Geraghty comments, "Well, come on, Mr. Krone, it's really not fair for you to be citing private-sector experience like that to President Obama."  Meanwhile, let's see if this Woodward book gets as loud an echo with the media as his books on Bush did.

Romney Campaign to Republicans: Don't Panic

Posted: 10 Sep 2012 07:24 AM PDT

(John Hinderaker)

Over the last week, Republicans have been disconcerted by a series of polls that appear to indicate the Democrats got a better convention bounce than we did, and that President Obama has-incredible as it may seem-opened up a lead in the presidential race. To be sure, some of the polls in question are worthless. The problem is that the reliable polls are showing more or less the same thing; for example, in today's Rasmussen survey, Obama has opened up his biggest lead since March, 50%-45%.

So the Romney campaign sought to quell any incipient panic with this morning's email, titled "Re: State of the Race:"

Don't get too worked up about the latest polling. While some voters will feel a bit of a sugar-high from the conventions, the basic structure of the race has not changed significantly. The reality of the Obama economy will reassert itself as the ultimate downfall of the Obama Presidency, and Mitt Romney will win this race.

In his acceptance speech, President Obama did not offer any solutions for the millions of Americans unemployed or underemployed. But his convention speech was not the only big letdown to voters, as Americans also dealt with yet another dismal jobs report last week. President Obama is the only president in modern American history to stand before the American people asking for re-election with this many Americans struggling to find work. The key numbers in this election are the 43 straight months of 8% or higher unemployment, the 23 million Americans struggling to find work, and the 47 million Americans who are on food stamps.

Today, there is no question: Americans are not better off than we were four years ago, and that is why President Obama has struggled in this race. The truth is that some of President Obama's allies are claiming victory, but others are acknowledging the unsustainable position in which they find themselves. This is evidenced in a recent quote in The New York Times by an Obama Administration official saying, "It's certainly not what I would call the position we wanted to be in at this point in the race...He's going to have to make the case that we wouldn't even be at 8 percent if it weren't for him."

Consider the following points:

* The Obama Economy: The stakes are very high in this election, and voters understand the future of our country is on the line. This may be lost on those living within the hyper-political world in and around the Beltway, but it is not lost in communities in battleground states. In short, the Romney-Ryan campaign understands Americans struggling in the Obama economy will determine the outcome of the race, and once the preponderance of information about the President's failed policies - combined with Mitt Romney's vision to strengthen the middle class - are communicated, our nation will move in a different direction.

* All Signs Point to a Tight Race: Those watching the daily tracking polls know that, while the President has seen a bounce from his convention, his approval has already begun to slip, indicating it is likely to recede further. In eight states, Pollster.com's reporting of the most recent statewide polls puts the margin between the two candidates at less than three points, virtually guaranteeing a tight race.

* Next, the battlefield has actually expanded, not contracted. Note that Wisconsin is now in play and our campaign is now up with ads in that state, while the latest poll numbers from the Albuquerque Journal in New Mexico show the race closing there. And this tightening is not an anomaly. Consider the traditional Democratic strongholds of New Jersey and Connecticut, won by President Obama in 2008 by margins of 15 points and 22 points, respectively. In both states, Pollster.com's reporting of the most recent statewide polls puts Obama's lead at only seven points in each of these states.

* In North Carolina, fresh off of hosting the Democratic National Convention, the Obama campaign is laying the groundwork for a stealth withdrawal. In a state the President won by a mere 14,000 votes in 2008, all one has to do is look at the Obama campaign's television buy in the state to understand how they view their chances there. The Obama campaign's North Carolina television buy has dropped 35% compared to June, and they have run more than twice as much advertising over the past two weeks in Rochester, Minnesota (hitting a small slice of Iowa), than they have in any North Carolina market.

* Historical Data: Political campaign historians will recall President Jimmy Carter led Ronald Reagan by a near double digit margin late in the fall in 1980. In that race, the voters made their decision based on the key issues confronting the nation and it determined the outcome. On the economy, the most important issue of this race, Mitt Romney leads by 51%-45%, according to the most recent CNN/ORC poll.

* Targeted Campaign: The Romney-Ryan campaign is running deeply local and targeted efforts in each of the states focusing on the voter groups that will make the difference on Election Day. Anyone asserting a "one-size-fits-all-campaign" effort is being put forward is simply misinformed, as evidenced by the 15 different ads released by the Romney Ryan campaign this past Friday and now running in nine states, including Wisconsin.

* New Money Advantage: All of this is not possible without resources, and the Romney-Ryan campaign and the Republican Party have a real advantage. In August alone, the Romney Victory effort raised more than $111 million, marking the third straight fundraising month of more than $100 million, putting us on a very strong financial footing for the final two months.

* Energy and Enthusiasm: CNN/ORC's most recent polling shows that 62% of Republicans are "extremely" or "very" excited about this election, while only 56% of Democrats report being "extremely" or "very" excited. This Republican enthusiasm advantage has manifested itself in an unprecedented and historic grassroots effort that will have a significant impact on turnout in battleground states on Election Day. For instance, as of today, Victory volunteers have already knocked on more doors than during the entire 2008 campaign. (2.72 million in 2012 through September 8 compared to 2.43 million overall in 2008.)

* Romney's Ground Game: During last weekend's "Super Saturday," we crossed the 20 million volunteer voter contact threshold. Also, the Romney campaign knocked on more doors last week than in any week during the 2008 campaign. More than 55,000 volunteers have knocked doors or made phone calls for Victory this year and that number is growing by the week. And volunteers have collected person-to-person identification information on nearly 1.7 million swing voters in battleground states thus far. And the numbers are even more startling when one looks at individual states. For instance, in Ohio alone, five times more phone calls and 28 times more door knocks have been made than at this time in 2008. This past Saturday, more than 100,000 doors were knocked on by Victory volunteers in the Buckeye State. And in Wisconsin, five times more phone calls and 72 times more door knocks have been made than at this time in 2008. And the list goes on and on.

Mitt Romney will be the next President. The outcome of this race will ultimately be determined in favor of Governor Romney because he has the better leadership skills, the better record, and the better vision for where he wants to take the country. These advantages are being fueled by the commitment and determination of volunteers and voters to change direction and move our country on a path toward economic growth and job creation. In short, the combination of having the superior candidate, being in a margin-of-error race with an incumbent President, having a cash advantage, and having an unprecedented grassroots effort and a winning message on the economy ensure that Americans will make a change in leadership in Washington on November 6.

All fair points. Still, the bottom line is that even viewed optimistically the race will be close.

A word on the money competition: Obama out-raised Romney by a few million dollars in August, reversing a Romney advantage in the preceding several months. That's OK; we never expected to out-spend the Obama money machine. My concern isn't about Romney's fundraising, which has been great, but rather about how those funds are being deployed. As the campaign's email notes, Romney is running targeted ads in various states. That's fine, but I would like to see a concerted effort to target minority voters. The Romney campaign has released a couple of Spanish-language ads; as far as I know, that's it. It seems to me that the campaign should be making a much greater effort to go after African-American and Hispanic voters, most of whom have been hard hit by the Obama economy. It is September, and time is getting short. Voters' minds aren't changed overnight.

What The . . . ??

First we get Joe Biden, auditioning for a cameo on the next season of Sons of Anarchy, as John mentioned here.  But now there's this pic of Obama from out on the campaign trail over the weekend:

"Where the hell are my secret service guys?"

As NRO's Jim Geraghty says on Morning Jolt, "and what the heck happened here? What, were there some Cartagena prostitutes distracting you? Come on, fellas, we're one body slam away from having Vice President Johnny Strabler calling the shots. "

The Kitty Cat Movement Against Obama

Cats don't like Obama parodyPets don't vote. They judge. And they torture you with their unbearable cuteness. Today we received an email with this picture: three surprised dogs and a caption saying, "This is exactly the same look you get from your friends if you tell them you plan to vote for Obama."

We have already reported on the reasons why dogs may dislike Obama in

In this issue, we turn our attention to cats, capturing some of their responses.

One guest on the network pointed out the blatant bias -- check out the confrontation & reaction from radio today.

Media ignores Obama's latest embarrassing gaffe

Whenever George W. Bush made a silly mistake and now whenever Romney does the media pounces all over it as if it's some indicator of massive incompetence.
