Obama Disses America's Pope, Cardinal Timothy Dolan
by Doug Giles
Aug 26, 2012
If Obama were wise he would really ramp up his misinformation machine. He should start giving away free weed, beer, hookers, tanks of gas, kazoos, Vaseline, stretch pants, whirly hats, Flowbees and ShamWows to anyone who promises to vote for him because he just ticked off stacks of Catholics even further by dissing Cardinal Dolan for the DNC.
Say "buh-bye" to a big ol' voting block, Mr. Anti-Catholic-In-Chief.
Just like I can't imagine any evangelical who can read and who remotely takes their faith seriously ever voting for BHO, I can't imagine a sober Catholic giving this anti-biblical, anti-Constitution president the time of day.
Obama's admin rages against pretty much everything Christians hold sacred. Stevie Wonder can see that.
But some of you will say, "But Obama loves the poor!" Oh, that's why he's created so many more of them in the last three and a half years. Garsh, I wondered what he was doing.
Look, I'm not a Catholic, but I sure dig Dolan's chutzpah. It's about time you guys got a U.S.-based prophetic butt-kicker who's not beholden to big government but rather to a bigger God.
Apparently, Facebook approved a "Kill Mitt Romney" page that was put up and left up over 17 days. I pointed out that Twitter followed a similar example in the George Zimmerman case a few months ago.
The description for the page indicates its purpose, which is a directly threat on the life of Mitt Romney stating,
"This is a page advocating the murder of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney."
Tables Turned: Newt Gingrich Grills Chris Matthews About His 'Racist Thinking'
The Blaze | by Becket Adams | Posted on August 27, 2012 at 7:01pm
After shouting down Republican Party Chairman Reince Priebus Monday morning, an emboldened Chris Matthews thought it would be a good idea to go toe-to-toe with former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich on the topic of the GOP's supposed use of racial "dog whistles."
"What's a 'food stamp president'?" Matthews asked, referring to a term he has deemed racist.
"A 'food stamp president' is the guy whose policies are so destructive, that he creates the longest unemployment since the Great Depression and he puts more people on food stamps - most of them white - than anybody else," the former speaker responded.
"Why do you assume food stamp refers to blacks?" Gingrich added, turning the tables on the MSNBC host.
Former CIA and Special Operations members are announcing the creation of OPSEC, a new nationwide public campaign to combat the spike in leaks and politicization of Intelligence and Special Operations missions that threaten their effectiveness and the safety of Americans who conduct them. OPSEC - short for Operational Security, meaning to eliminate or reduce the exploitation of critical information - will begin with the release of "Dishonorable Disclosures," a new documentary short film highlighting the problem from the perspective of those who have served in these critical positions. The film will also serve as the basis for a TV and online advertising effort.
"Intelligence and Special Operations members are angry and frustrated at how our work has been used for political advantage by officials across government, including President Obama himself who bears special responsibility as Commander in Chief," said Scott Taylor, chairman of OPSEC and a former Navy SEAL. "We want the American people to understand the cost of these leaks and politicization both on those who serve and on our national security and to hold those in positions of leadership accountable if it doesn't stop."
OPSEC is made up of individuals who served their country in the CIA, and Special Operations Forces (SOF) consisting of Navy SEALs, Army Special Forces, Marine Corps and Air Force Special Operations. It is organized as a 501(c)(4) nonpartisan public education campaign and is independent of any political party or campaign organization.
The campaign will begin with the release of "Dishonorable Disclosures," a documentary short film that views the impact of the increasing number of leaks on Intelligence and Special Operations missions, tradecraft, tactics and capabilities from the perspective of those who have relied on these tools to carryout similar missions and protect themselves and those they served alongside. The film will be shown at events in key states across the country over the next several months, including Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, North Carolina and Nevada. "Dishonorable Disclosures" can be seen here.
"Countless leaks, interviews and decisions by the Obama Administration and other government officials have undermined the success of our Intelligence and Special Operations forces and put future missions and personnel at risk," said Fred Rustmann, an OPSEC member and 24-year veteran of the Central Intelligence Agency. "OPSEC will carry a strong message across the country that it's time for President Obama and other administration officials to stop jeopardizing national security operations for political gain."
More information about OPSEC and news about the release of "Dishonorable Disclosures" can be found at http://www.opsecteam.org/.
Dishonorable Disclosures
Former Special Ops officers from four separate branches of the military have joined ranks for one specific purpose - to remove Barack Obama from office.
And now they need your help to do it.
Dear Fellow American,
During World War II, they had a poster up in every defense plant and military base in America.
It didn't mince words; it told it straight --
"Loose lips sink ships."
Well, now our nation is saddled with a Commander in Chief who just doesn't seem to get that message. Or, if he does, he simply doesn't care.
Let me lay it on the line: Barack Obama's loose lips are doing worse than sinking ships - they're putting our entire nation at risk.
And if you and I don't get this man out of office, he's going to destroy our military, undermine every ally we have, and arm our enemies to the teeth.
All for his own sorry political purposes.
That's why I am asking you to join me now in helping the Special Operations Speaks (SOS) PAC launch a nationwide campaign to remove Barack Obama from office. Before it's too late.
Demand Congress Hold the Obama 'Leakers' Accountable
Now, I'm going to give it to you straight. Because after 27 years as a Navy SEAL officer - including serving as Commanding Officer of Naval Special Warfare Center, where our proud Navy SEALS train - I don't know any other way.
And, I think you deserve to know the truth.
Barack Obama has waged war on America's military from the day he took office.
He's already cut our defense budget so deeply that his own Secretary of Defense called it "devastating" to our national security. And the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff warned that because of Obama's cuts, "we would no longer be a global power."
Yet, while he is out gutting our military and yanking the guns from our troops' hands, he is also taking credit for every move our brave soldiers make.
All for political gain - even when it puts their lives at high risk.
Frankly, as a 27-year SEAL officer, that makes me angry. And I have a feeling it does you, too.
And that's why SOS needs your help now to bring the Obama travesty to an end.
A little over a year ago, when SEAL Team 6 took out Osama bin Laden, Barack Obama couldn't wait to scurry before the cameras and take full credit.
I'm sure you remember that sorry spectacle. His whole speech was "I" ..."I" ... "I" ... "I" ... "I."
As if he were the one who led the raid. As if he were the one who risked his life. As if he were the one covering his buddies' backs as they fought their way into that compound and back out.
Well, I can assure you that Barack Obama was not there. Those brave soldiers didn't need him. And they wouldn't have wanted him.
And there's something else they wouldn't have wanted either - Barack Obama blowing their cover the way he did.
Demand Congress Hold the Obama 'Leakers' Accountable
Barack Obama's loose lips took away the vital secrecy Navy SEALS need to continue their undercover missions.
And because he rushed to get in front of the cameras before the SEALS could even analyze the materials they had recovered, he also destroyed any chance for an effective follow-up.
All because Barack Obama wanted to make himself look tough - at the shameless expense of those who actually are.
Now, a year later, we find out that while Obama was out front blowing military secrets, his staff was behind the scenes doing the same.
His Administration's backroom release of top secret documents to The New York Times has jeopardized covert operations worldwide. All for the cheapest of political purposes.
And it's time you and I put a stop to it.
That's why I am asking you now to help SOS expose the full truth about Barack Obama's war on America's military - and his administration's continuing, deliberate release of top secret security documents.
I want you to know that every one of the men and women who has joined me to organize Special Operations Speaks is a former member of our nation's Special Forces. Some are SEALS, some are Rangers, some are Air Commandos and some are Green Berets. The rest belong to other Special Ops units.
So, we know what happens when the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines we have trained and served with have their cover blown, their tactics revealed, and their operations compromised.
Let's just say, when that happens, Barack Obama's loose lips don't just sink ships - they cost lives. The sacred lives of the best and the brightest.
The mainstream media, as I'm sure you've seen, is doing all that it can to follow Barack Obama's campaign script and portray him as some sort of brave warrior.
Day after day they ignore or cover up his "devastating" defense cuts, his phony chest-pounding, and his deadly revelations of America's top secrets.
And, unfortunately, millions and millions of Americans are not being told the truth.
That's why my fellow former Special Operations officers and NCO's and I have, in essence, come out of retirement one more time to strap on the gear and fulfill our oaths.
Demand Congress Hold the Obama 'Leakers' Accountable
We are already working with key Senate and House leaders to demand full congressional hearings into the Obama intelligence leaks.
And we're prepared to launch a nationwide media blitz - TV ads, radio ads, news releases, and personal appearances throughout the country - to make sure the American people learn the full truth about Barack Obama's war on America's military.
I can promise you: We won't rest until the job is done. That's not our way.
But, to do all of this - and more - SOS needs your help today. The truth is, we can't do it without you. You are our back-up. You are our supply line.
So, I urge you, please give as generously as you can to help launch the Special Operations Speaks campaign.
Your gift of $25, $50, $100 - or more if you possibly can - will help assure that my fellow special operators and I can cover the backs of America's troops worldwide as they fight for our freedom.
And, together, you and I can help make sure we once again have a President who puts liberty before loose lips and our nation's welfare before political gain.
I can't wait to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Larry Bailey, CAPT (SEAL), USN (Ret.)
PS: Like most Navy officers, the date of June 15, 1985, is seared in my memory. That's the date Islamic terrorists hijacked TWA Flight 847 and brutally tortured Navy Seabee Robert Stethem to death. All he had to do was scream out for mercy, and he would have been allowed to live. But he refused to utter a sound.
The pilot of Flight 847 later said, "He was the bravest man I've ever seen in my life."
Bob Stethem's brother was a Navy SEAL; I know him. So, I know something of the stuff of which he was made. Warriors like him don't scream out, they don't beg for mercy, and they don't ask for help.
And that's why my fellow former Special Operations officers and I are asking for your help on their behalf today.
In 2008, when he was running for president, Barack Obama promised his leftwing supporters that if they helped him get elected, "I will slow the development of future combat systems."
That's one of the only campaign promises he has kept. And it has placed our brave warriors in harm's way.
Your gift of $25, $50, $100 - even $1,000 or more if you can possibly spare it - will help our Special Operations Speaks PAC bring an end to Barack Obama's war on the military. So, I urge you, please give as generously as you can.

Please give your attention to this important announcement from the Senate Conservatives Fund. From time to time, we send you content on behalf of third parties we believe may be of interest to you and we believe this one deserves your attention.
Fellow Conservatives:
If you want to stop the massive growth of our federal government and save America's future, we must change the United States Senate.
Harry Reid and the Democrats control the Senate today and, unfortunately, we still have too many Republicans who lack the courage to fight for our nation's founding principles.
As a Senator who works each day to stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying our country, I can tell you that we desperately need conservative reinforcements.
This is why I founded the Senate Conservatives Fund back in 2008 and it's why SCF is working so hard today to elect a new group of leaders in 2012 who will fight to turn this country around.
The Senate Conservatives Fund has endorsed eight conservative candidates who will help strip Harry Reid of control of the Senate and fight the liberal policies that are bankrupting our country.
Josh Mandel Ohio
Jeff Flake Arizona
Richard Mourdock Indiana
Ted Cruz Texas
Deb Fischer Nebraska
George Allen Virginia
Tom Smith Pennsylvania
Dan Bongino Maryland
These eight candidates are unique in that they have conservative records, have earned support from the grassroots in their states, and have the courage to stand up for our values -- even if it means going against their own party's leadership.
These candidates support all of SCF's policy goals, including:
Cutting spending to balance the budget
Repealing Obamacare entirely
Securing the borders and oppose amnesty
Stopping corporate bailouts
Banning earmarks
Establishing term limits
Defending the 2nd Amendment
Protecting human life
The Senate Conservatives Fund is doing two important things to help its endorsed candidates win in November.
First, SCF is raising money for each of the candidates from donors all across the nation. Money alone does not win elections, but the lack of money can certainly lose them.
Second, SCF is running powerful TV and radio ads to counter the opposition and drive home our side's message of economic freedom and prosperity.
So if you want to do something really meaningful and effective to save our country, please support the Senate Conservatives Fund and its endorsed candidates TODAY.
SCF makes it possible for you to donate directly to its eight endorsed candidates so they receive 100% of your donations.
This is a very unique approach for a third-party group and it shows exactly how committed SCF is to helping these candidates. It's also why the POLITICO newspaper called SCF a "wildly successful small-donor fundraising machine."
These are exceptional candidates who have overcome long odds to get this far, and now they urgently need your help to win in November.
Time is running out and we must work together to send true conservative leaders to Washington this year.
Thank you for doing what you can to help turn this country around.
Sincerely,
Jim DeMint United States Senator
P.S. If we're going to save America, we must fire Harry Reid and change the United States Senate. Without a conservative Senate, we'll never stop the massive spending, bailouts, and debt that are destroying this great country.

SION to Hold International Congress and Media Workshop to Address Islamic Supremacist War Against Free Speech
The world's leading forces for freedom will be there. There is a suggested contribution of $36 per person. Register now, space is limited. September 11, 2012, UN Plaza Millenium Hotel, 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
NEW YORK: The first session of the International Freedom Defense Congress, the operating body of the human rights organization Stop Islamization of Nations (SION), will be held in New York on September 11, 2012. The principal focus of the Congress will be a media workshop pertaining to Islamic supremacist attempts to restrict the freedom of speech in the free world, and the smear campaigns against freedom fighters in newspapers and media institutions in the West.
"The objective of this first-of-its-kind workshop is to develop media-related mechanisms to address the smear campaigns," SION said in a statement. It will also address the media's double standard regarding Islam and other religions, as epitomized in March 2012 by the New York Times' running of an anti-Catholic smear ad and rejection of a SION ad telling the truth about Islamic jihad.
It said the workshop will discuss at length the reasons behind and the results of the Western media's offensive campaigns against freedom of speech and the truth about Islam, jihad, Islamic supremacism and Muslims, which it added still occur from time to time.
"The workshop will represent a quantum leap in media action, as it discusses, beyond rhetoric, the practical steps to address the phenomenon of the Islamic war against free speech," SION President Pamela Geller said. Fighting Back in the War on Free SpeechPamela Geller, March 18, 2012
Freedom fighters from all over the globe, journalists, intellectuals and academicians will be among the participants in the workshop, which will consist of brainstorming sessions to develop mechanisms for cooperation with external partners, and to develop an action plan to address the phenomenon of the Islamic war against free speech.
The organization noted that the workshop is of particular importance as it is the first ever to address the implications of Resolution 16/18 of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the stated goal of which is to "combat intolerance, negative stereotyping and stigmatisation of, discrimination, incitement to violence, and violence against persons based on religion or belief," but which is actually designed to restrict truthful speech about Islamic supremacism and jihad, so as to render the West mute and defenseless before the advancing threat of jihad and Sharia.
Resolution 16/18, which was adopted by the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva in March 2011, was backed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the most recent Istanbul Process Conference in Washington in December.
This is widely viewed as a significant step toward furthering OIC efforts to destroy the freedom of speech and impose Sharia blasphemy laws on the free world.
"We are holding this Congress on the eleventh anniversary of the day jihad came to America in order to strike a blow for freedom," Geller said.
SION President Geller is the author of Stop Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance (WND Books) and The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War On America (Simon & Schuster). SION Vice President is the acclaimed author and Islam expert, Robert Spencer, author of the New York Times bestsellers, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and The Truth About Muhammad (both Regnery).
The SION Board of Advisers also includes Oskar Freysinger, a Swiss Parliamentarian and member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP), who won international renown for his leadership of the successful campaign against the construction of minarets in Switzerland; Cliff Kincaid, editor of Accuracy in Media (AIM) and a leader of the struggle to keep the jihadist propaganda network Al-Jazeera off American airwaves; Dr. Ashraf Rameleh, President of Voice of the Copts, an international organization standing up for the human rights of Coptic Christians and all religious minorities against religious bigotry and intolerance; Dr. Ali Sina, the renowned ex-Muslim author and founder of FaithFreedom.org; Dr. Wafa Sultan, the ex-Muslim human rights activist and author; the German pro-freedom activist Stefan Herre of Politically Incorrect; the Israeli author Dr. Mordechai Kedar; the Hindu human rights activist Babu Suseelan; Anders Gravers of Stop Islamisation of Europe (SIOE); and Canadian publisher and free speech defender Ezra Levant.
Speakers at SION's International Freedom Defense Congress will include Kedar, Rameleh, Sina, Kincaid, and Gravers, as well as Danish free speech advocate Lars Hedegaard; Italian human rights activists Magdi Christiano Allam and Valentina Colombo; English politician and freedom fighter Paul Weston; and renowned Muhammad cartoonist Lars Vilks. More speakers will be announced shortly.
SION stands for:
-- The freedom of speech - as opposed to Islamic prohibitions of
"blasphemy" and "slander," which are used effectively to quash
honest discussion of jihad and Islamic supremacism;
-- The freedom of conscience - as opposed to the Islamic death
penalty for apostasy;
-- The equality of rights of all people before the law - as
opposed to Sharia's institutionalized discrimination against

A Brief History & Description of Agenda 21
ByKelly OConnell
Wednesday, August 1, 2012
Whether there is such a thing as a world plan for socialist domination must be answered by individuals pondering recent, sometimes strange confluences of world events. But if there were such a plan, would it appear in any clearer form that the United Nations Agenda 21 program?
Agenda 21 is a plank of UN policy encouraging the globe to embrace Sustainable Development, which conservatives understand as a code word for global Marxism:
Sustainable development sounds like a nice idea, right? It sounds nice, until you scratch the surface and find that Agenda 21 and sustainable development are really cloaked plans to impose the tenets of social justice/socialism on the world. At risk from Agenda 21; Private property ownership; Single-family homes; Private car ownership and individual travel choices; and Privately owned farms.
Peco has stopped installing Smart Meters which are part of UN Agenda 21 (Sustainable Development). If you have had a Smart Meter installed on your home, you should immediately call Peco and tell them to remove it. These fires have been reported in other states after the meters were installed.
For those that have already had the Smart Meter installed on their home, Peco will return, test the meter, and place a warning sign on the meter with a device that should a fire start, the meter will shut off. New reports are that Peco has switched overnight to another provider for these meters, assuring the public that these will be safe. Are we to trust this company, the same one that put fire hazards on 186,000 homes in PA?
Now is the time to act! The ball is in our court. I will be trying to go up to Harrisburg in September to push to get legislation out of committee. Maybe we are being given time to stop part of UN agenda 21.
Call PECO and tell them no to the "new technology" meters.
Thank you.

Activate: How to turn the 2012 election from a close call to a mandate

Last night, Glenn focused on the importance of commitment. He was the first to admit, a lot of last night's show was something you had heard before - but it's important to start at the beginning and to make sure you know what you believe before you get put into action. And tonight, Glenn revealed ways for you to really get moving!
Tonight, the focus of the show was "Activate" - and it was all about the election and how you can make sure that one way or another - 2012 is a year for a mandate for or against the progressives. And if you think it doesn't matter just take a look at what is happening right now in Wisconsin. Progressives and unions are doing everything they can to make sure that Walker loses. It's a microcosm to what is happening around the country, and Glenn thought it was so important that he recapped it on tonight's show (in under three minutes!):
We have 70 days left to stop the American Nation from becoming the Obama Nation.

Today I am proud to announce the launch of a groundbreaking documentary that will rattle the political establishment. Citizens United Productions' newest film "The Hope and The Change" examines the surprising journey of forty Americans - Democrats and Independents - who supported and voted for President Obama four years ago.
The powerful voices in "The Hope and The Change" will resonate with many citizens across the country who are disillusioned with the Presidency of Barack Obama. This persuasive documentary will change many minds and get people off the fence and into the game.
That is why it is so important for as many people as possible to see it. The film will premiere during the RNC in Tampa next Tuesday (please register for free tickets NOW at www.CitizensUnited.org/RNC) and is set for a limited theatrical release in September.
This 60 minute documentary follows the daily lives of hard-working Democrats and Independents through unscripted and unrehearsed interviews. Viewers will see how their nation's economy and society has changed over the past four years under the policies of President Obama.
The diverse cast of "The Hope and The Change" encompasses a broad cross-section of America's racial and socio-economic spectrum who come from seven swing states that experts say will decide the 2012 presidential election. Writer/Director Stephen K. Bannon and I traveled to Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia to search out these authentic American stories from citizens who have lost faith in their President.
President Obama campaigned in 2008 on "Hope" and "Change" but these stories reflect the sentiment across America that the country has changed for the worse. The voices of everyday Americans in this film will have a major impact on the debates that are currently raging across America.
I have some very exciting news! Citizens United Productions has just announced an all rights distribution deal for our newest film Occupy Unmasked with Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, owned by Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner. Magnet is giving the film a limited theatrical release with VOD in late September to be followed by the DVD release. I've attached the full press release at the bottom of this email.
While the Liberal establishment and mainstream media portray the Occupy Wall Street movement as organic and nonviolent, Occupy Unmasked reveals the sinister, organized, and highly orchestrated nature of its leaders and their number one goal: Not just to change government, but to destroy it.
Led by hugely influential conservative visionary, the late Andrew Breitbart, Occupy Unmasked delves deep beneath the surface of the Occupy movement to show its dark anarchist roots. Behind the largely naïve students and legitimately concerned citizens looking for answers stand those who advocate the use of violence, black bloc operations, and intimidation as protest tactics - the same tactics they used during the anti-war protests of the 1960's, anti-nuclear weapons protests of the 80's, WTO protests of the 90's, and the IMF protests of recent years.
Former leftists turned patriotic citizen journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy, Lee Stranahan, and others take viewers into the Occupy camps around the country to see first-hand the truth of what is happening and who is at the heart of the movement. Exclusive footage and eyewitness accounts tell the story of the criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps - much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media.
Directed by Stephen K. Bannon (The Undefeated, Generation Zero), Occupy Unmasked is an eye-opening look at a startling movement that could have a dangerous impact on the future of America.
New York, August 6, 2012 - The Wagner/Cuban Company's Magnet Releasing announced today an all rights distribution deal for Citizens United Productions' documentary OCCUPY UNMASKED, one of the last projects featuring the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart. OCCUPY UNMASKED was written and directed by award-winning director Stephen K. Bannon and produced by David N. Bossie. Magnet is giving the film a limited theatrical release day and date with VOD in late September.
"This film is controversial, and that's exactly the reason we want to ensure it can find its audience prior to the November elections," said Mark Cuban, co-owner of Magnet. "I look forward to our partnership with Citizens United Productions and to getting this film out to the masses."
OCCUPY UNMASKED takes viewers into the Occupy Wall Street camps around the country in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Portland, Denver and Oakland for an up-close look at what's happened there and who's at the heart of the movement, documenting criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps - much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media. In addition to Andrew Breitbart, the film features journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy, and Lee Stranahan.
"I am proud to announce that Citizens United Productions is teaming up with Mark Cuban and Magnet to distribute OCCUPY UNMASKED, and elevate the film the Left does not want the American people to see," said Producer David N. Bossie. "This distribution deal will keep the groundbreaking work of the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart alive for years to come."
"As a dear friend of Andrew's, I could not be more thrilled that this deal got completed and all Americans will have an opportunity to see one of Andrew Breitbart's final pieces of work," said writer/director Stephen K. Bannon. "This film is important because it sheds new light on the myth of the Occupy Wall Street movement. I know audiences across the country will be startled by what we uncovered in this explosive documentary."
When you think of the great presidential debates throughout history, there's Lincoln and Douglas in 1858, Kennedy and Nixon in 1960, and then there is Glenn's new live comedy stage show, Unelectable 2012.
Since Glenn couldn't personally visit every city in America on his Unelectable 2012 tour, he has decided that the final show will be simulcast LIVE in movie theaters all over the country, probably one in your town! Watch Glenn drown in his own sweat while you relax in air conditioning, eating nachos and Milk Duds.
This is an amazingly funny show, the kind of presidential debate that you'll never actually see because Glenn plays a candidate who tells the truth! Joined by the writers and performers of GBTV's sketch comedy show, The B.S. of A., many are saying it could be the funniest show Glenn's ever done, and it ends with an inspiring message that will have you on your feet full of hope. It's a night of fun the whole family can enjoy! With the election season we've got in front of us, this may be the only "funny-on-purpose" thing related to politics for years to come.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE PEOPLE?
"In the United States, government requires not merely the consent of the governed. It rests ultimately on the ability of the people to govern themselves."
As the presidential election approaches, the choices before our nation have never been more critical. The final volume in the Understanding America series, What is the Role of the People?
, examines the great responsibility the Founders bestowed upon us, the American people.
The Founders built the United States on the fundamental principle that we have the right to govern ourselves. To govern effectively, we must ensure our society's continued virtue and freedom, and pass the inheritance of freedom on to each new generation.
Authored by Heritage Foundation President Edwin Feulner, this final volume in the
Understanding Americaseries explores how and why we must live up to our responsibilities in maintaining the Founders' vision. Learn more in What is the Role of the People?
What Is America's Role In the World? The United States' foreign policy exists, first and foremost, to defend the independence and interests of its people. But America also has a unique responsibility to uphold and advance the universal principles of liberty upon which it was founded. This volume provides insight into how the Founders' understanding of liberty shaped their vision for foreign policy. Read More
How Must America Practice Diplomacy? This volume in the Understanding America series examines how the principles of liberty that define America must also guide its practice of diplomacy. Read More
How Must America Balance Security and Liberty? America's Founders recognized that the nation's security and its peoples' liberty are not opposed. Rather, security is necessary for the flourishing of liberty. Since its founding, America has promoted security and protected liberty by pursuing policies that strengthen both. This volume in the Understanding America series explores the ways in which the Constitution's Framers sought to protect liberty, and shows that the goals of ensuring security and respecting liberty can and must be reconciled. The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq
Jul 18th, 2012
Daniel Greenfield's new Freedom Center pamphlet,The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq, is an effort to understand the politics of the "war on terror" which has now reached a final punctuation point with the U.S. decision to speed its withdrawal from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan (where success was once deemed so crucial to national security), and to practice an incoherent form of regime change in Libya while ignoring more serious threats in Syria and Iran.
The war on terror began, Greenfield shows, as an admirable bipartisan commitment soon after the tragedy of 9/11-an effort to transcend party lines not only to punish those who attacked our country but also to interrupt planning for further attacks and try to stop the international spread of the Islamic jihad behind the attacks. But the Democratic Party, with the honorable exception of a few individuals like Richard Gephardt and Joe Lieberman, turned its back on a war soon after authorizing it, and did so at a time when American troops were facing hostile enemy fire.
Although Senate Democrats on the intelligence oversight committee had been granted access to every piece of data available to the White House, they now accused President Bush of tricking them to secure their approval. In fact, their own about-face was entirely dictated by political considerations when a Sixties antiwar activist, Howard Dean, surged ahead in the Democratic primary polls and it appeared for a moment that Americans were on the side of retreat and capitulation.
Although regime change in Iraq had been official U.S. policy since Bill Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, Democratic senators such as John Kerry who only months earlier had supported the war effort now launched demoralizing attacks on the American commander-in-chief and his troops in the field, stigmatizing it as "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time." If the truth was the first casualty of their war against the Bush administration, the second casualty was the principle of bi-partisanship that had guided foreign policy debates throughout the Cold War, the principle that "politics stops at the water's edge." Now partisan politics trumped security.
The unrestrained attacks on the Iraq War as illegal and unjustified went largely unanswered by Republicans who failed to call the Democratic saboteurs of the nation's war effort to account or to decry the risk their cynical attacks posed to American servicemen and women on the battlefield. As Greenfield demonstrates, the Democrats' partisanship had consequences not only in Iraq but elsewhere in the region: the paralysis that resulted from their "anti-war" campaign led straight to the destruction of Lebanon and the installation of a terrorist army, Hezbollah, there as a regime within a regime. And it emboldened an overtly Islamofascist regime in Iran not only to supply the IEDs responsible for most of our troop fatalities in Iraq but also to proceed with a nuclear program aimed directly at Israel and the West.
The Great Betrayal shows that Barack Obama's abandonment of Iraq is a betrayal of all the Americans and Iraqis who gave their lives to establish freedom in that country. And the result of his policies in Afghanistan has been as disastrous. While the President presented his rationale for pursuing war there as the pursuit of al-Qaeda, after abandoning his "surge" (which resulted in two thirds of all America's Afghan casualties there and the resurgence of the Taliban allies of al-Qaeda), he blithely prepared for withdrawal as if national objectives had been met.

"Losing our Sons": Documentary looks at domestic Islamic radicalization and jihadization
Charles Jacobs at Americans for Peace and Tolerance announced today the release of a trailer for their upcoming documentary, "Losing Our Sons", featuring Melvin Bledsoe - father of domestic terrorist Carlos Bledsoe aka Abdulhakim Mohamed who gunned down US Army recruiter Pvt. William Long at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2009. Melvin Bledsoe testified at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing earlier this month.
The upcoming documentary discusses how Bledsoe was radicalized by the Muslim Student Association in Tennessee and sent to terrorist training in Yemen with the written recommendation of the imam of a Nashville mosque. It also discusses how the agents of radicalization in the Nashville Muslim community have been aided by collaborators in the establishment media, politics and the so-called "interfaith" community.
Dear Linda, In 2012 our Constitution is under assault like never before.
Even as I write, self-described Progressives are working to subvert the Constitution to replace it with an ever more expansive and intrusive bureaucratic despotism.
My name is Larry Arnn and I'm the President of Hillsdale College. You might have heard Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and other conservative radio hosts talk about Hillsdale College.
The ongoing radical Progressive agenda poses a serious threat to the survival of free government in our great nation. At Hillsdale, we believe that a massive, nationwide education project to promote America's founding principles is the only way to defeat this Progressive agenda.
As one of our most loyal supporters, you've been an important part of Hillsdale's effort to educate Americans on the importance of preserving our Constitution.
That's why I want you to be one of the first to know about our brand new online course:
The first class begins on Tuesday, September 4 and the final one will occur during the week of the national elections in November. I hope you'll sign up immediately.
In this no-cost, ten-week course, you'll learn from members of Hillsdale's politics department faculty - some of the nation's top scholars on the Constitution - about the history of Progressivism and how the movement has slowly chiseled away at our freedoms over the past century.
With Hillsdale's outstanding reputation as a leading academic institution, this course offers you a unique educational experience that you won't be able to get anywhere else.
Earlier this year Hillsdale offered its first online course on the Constitution. And in doing so it made a major impact with more than 275,000 Americans registering for "Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution." We expect our newest course - The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism - to attract even more attention. And I hope you will be one of the registrants!
Here are the ten lecture topics for the course...
The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism
The Founders' Constitution and the Challenge of Progressivism Larry P. Arnn, Tuesday, September 4
Woodrow Wilson and the Rejection of the Founders' Principles, Part 1 Ronald J. Pestritto, Monday, September 10
Woodrow Wilson and the Rejection of the Founders' Principles, Part 2 Ronald J. Pestritto, Monday, September 17

FDR's New Bill of Rights Will Morrisey, Monday, October 1
Total Regulation: LBJ's Great Society Kevin Portteus, Monday, October 8
The Transformation of America's Political Institutions Kevin Portteus, Monday, October 15
Post-1960s Progressivism John Grant, Monday, October 22
Case Study: Religious Liberty in the Administrative State Thomas G. West, Monday, October 29
Restoring Constitutional Government Larry P. Arnn, Monday, November 5
Why is Hillsdale teaching a course on the Progressive movement?
Americans who believe in constitutional liberty and limited government need to understand what they're up against, so Hillsdale designed this course to teach Americans the history of Progressivism and how it continues to work to ignore and dismantle the U.S. Constitution.
From its intellectual origins in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, to the massive government expansions under FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society, to the third great expansion of big-government programs during the past three years, Progressives are making our country unrecognizable in comparison to the constitutional republic created by America's Founding Fathers.
To understand fully this attack on limited government constitutionalism, and thus to know what is needed to stem the tide, take Hillsdale's new online Constitution course, which starts on September 4 and concludes the week of the national elections in November.
AND, like all Hillsdale online courses, it will be archived online so that you can refer back to the lectures or access them at your leisure.
I have the privilege of delivering the first lecture, "The Founders' Constitution and the Challenge of Progressivism," and the final lecture, "Restoring Constitutional Government." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
I am proud, thanks to your past support and the support of many patriotic Americans, that Hillsdale College is teaching hundreds of thousands of Americans about the Constitution and its principles of liberty. This course is crucial for all Americans who want to understand the dangers confronting the Constitution and its principles today. I hope YOU will join us for this important course!
As President of Hillsdale College, I have devoted my life to education, and in particular to teaching about the American founding, its underlying principles, and subsequent constitutional history.
The last chapter in that history, covering the past century, tells a story about how the progressive movement has undermined the Constitution and replaced it with a bureaucratic despotism - if we are to recover the Constitution, that story must be understood.
That is why we are offering this new course, free, to all Americans.
The more than 275,000 who signed up for our first constitution course last spring prove that Americans are willing and eager to study and defend the Constitution and the principles that made our country the most free and most prosperous in human history!
I hope you will sign up for our new course and help continue this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution.
This new online course, available at no charge to the public, is not without cost to Hillsdale. The College has already invested much to make this critical course a reality.
To make this course available nationwide will cost nearly $1,000,000. While a monumental expenditure for Hillsdale College, we consider it a duty to reach and teach as many students, citizens, and elected officials as possible during this year and beyond.
ACTION STEP #3: Please forward this email to friends and family and encourage them to enroll in this brand new course on The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic Despotism.
OUR CHALLENGE
With your help, Hillsdale College is dedicated to returning the Constitution to its rightful place at the center of American political life.
If our republic does not re-embrace the Constitution, we will not be able to reclaim the liberty that has been lost, and may yet lose the liberty we still have.
Hillsdale College has accepted this challenge, and our commitment to making this course available to citizens nationwide is proof. But we need you, as one of our best supporters, to help to make this possible. . .
As you may already know, in order to protect the integrity of its mission and prevent intrusive government regulation, Hillsdale College accepts no taxpayer funding whatsoever, even indirectly in the form of federal or state student grants or loans.
Your generosity at this critical time will not just help underwrite the cost of making this course available nationwide. It will also support all the other ways that Hillsdale College educates Americans to be defenders of liberty and self-government.

Victory Center" on Facebook
-Gabriel Malor
Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center appwill, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.
It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on.
Today marks the beginning of the end of Campaign 2012. This week, here in Tampa, Republicans will go through a well scripted event designed to make Mitt Romney their nominee. Democrats will reciprocate next week in Charlotte, NC.
The GOP's convention almost became unscripted with a heavy handed move designed to ensure a coronation and shut out the grassroots from nomination fights. According to press reports, the Romney campaign is in retreat on this issue and the grassroots have won. They should not get complacent.
Regardless of that hiccup, the energy in Tampa is much different from 2008.
In an interview for Revealing Politics today, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus was asked, among other things, if the party's position on Akin would eventually change if Akin refused to step out of the race.
How does Senator Scott Brown keep managing this? 'This' being defined as "An aide to Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat, appears to have knocked the video camera of a Republican tracker after an event this weekend in Martha's Vineyard."
Amidst the torrent of polling data on an array of political races and policy issues, it is easy to lose focus on the central point of contention in today's world of politics. The fundamental disagreement between the right and the left is over the proper role of government. The left feels that government should control virtually every aspect of our economy and our lives - from cradle to grave - while the right believes that government must focus on its core constitutional duties, and that it is, in fact, deleterious to our lives and prosperity when it traverses those constitutional confines.
Hold your fire. Did you think I was talking about Republicans? Oh, no. I'm talking about the Democrats. That party has been hijacked by the radical feminist fringe. In a way that mimics the imagined trend of the Tea party, the feminists are pushing losing candidates on the Democrats, and forcing them to pick up losing issues in the elections.
This goes from Barack Obama on down. In a jobs election, he's talking abortion.

Paul Ryan's critics and the architects of ObamaCare reveal their real vision for health care: coercion.
August 28, 2012
The liberal assault on Paul Ryan's Medicare reform has often been ugly, but that's not to say it hasn't been instructive. While ripping Mr. Ryan, ObamaCare's intellectual architects have been laying out in more detail their own vision for the future of American health care. It's a vision that all Americans should know about before they go to the polls in November.
***
No one did more to sell the Affordable Care Act than Peter Orszag, the former White House budget director who claimed during 2009-2010 that as much as a third of health spending is "waste" that doesn't improve outcomes. But now that he's repaired to Wall Street and writes an online column, he's deriding the idea that better incentives can reduce costs and sneering at the "health-care competition tooth fairy."

The Blaze | by Erica Ritz | Posted on August 27, 2012 at 8:25pm
The Democratic National Committee is raising a number of eyebrows after choosing to proceed with hosting Islamic "Jumah" prayers for two hours on the Friday of its convention, though it denied a Catholic cardinal's request to say a prayer at the same event.
I'm a big fan of the 1 percent. No, not the dastardly 1 percent of Occupy Wall Street myth; I'm partial, instead, to the 1 percent of Congress that takes seriously the threat of Islamic-supremacist influence operations against our government.
Americans for Peace and Tolerance will soon release a video documenting Islamic radicalism at Northeastern. The video will describe a culture of extremism residing at Northeastern's officially sanctioned and financially supported Muslim student group.
The identity of today's Muslim Brotherhood, in many ways, parallels the lives of just three influential men, who founded and shaped the Brotherhood as it grew into the largest and most-influential Pan-Islamic movement in the world today.
The college has raised $350,000 from students, alumni, parents and donors, and the first undocumented student drawing on the endowment will arrive on campus next month, said Margaret Cerullo, a professor who organized the campaign.
Ahmadinejad and his retinue will be permitted entry to the U.S., ushered into Manhattan, and provided with top-notch security, courtesy of the same U.S. taxpayers whose country and way of life he would like to destroy.
TWO Al-Qaeda terrorists, including one who plotted to kill thousands in a British shopping centre bomb attack, are trying to get their convictions quashed - on HUMAN RIGHTS grounds.
Thanks to science we have doubled our life spans over just one century: the result of clean water, antibiotics, birth control, and the medical care that keeps women in childbirth (and their babies) alive.
Lindh's sermon proves "that religious activities led by Muslim inmates are being used as a vehicle for radicalization and violence in the CMU," the government claims.
I'm a history geek, and a recent book about where early Americans came from has me all excited. It's called "Across Atlantic Ice," and it's shaking up the history world.

National GOP platform includes support of ALAC concept ACT! for America grassroots "people power" continues to win victories
ACT! for America led the passage of American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) in Tennessee, Arizona and Kansas. For instance, in Kansas we generated 30,000 phone calls and emails to state legislators.
ALAC prohibits state courts from applying foreign law, which would include sharia law, when doing so conflicts with the Constitution or constitutional rights.
ACT! for America led the efforts to add anti-sharia law or anti-foreign law resolutions to the platforms of FIVE state Republican parties.
Now we're proud to announce that ACT! for America has helped win the inclusion of an anti-foreign law resolution in the NATIONAL Republican Party platform.
Hundreds of ACT! for America members logged on to the GOP platform website in support of proposals that mirror ALAC.
Our message was clear and our voice was strong-and it was heard!
Bang for your buck: that's what the Freedom Center provides. Ammunition for the culture war against the Left: that's what your contribution buys. So please act now and help us in the fight we are waging on many fronts for America's future. America is under assault from within and without. There is no time to lose.
EXPOSED! OBAMA'S 2ND-TERM 'MARXIST' JOBS PLAN 'Living wage' could 'crash and burn' U.S. economy
Progressive organizations behind White House policy have crafted specific, second-term plans for President Obama to enact a "living wage" that would force all employers to increase the salaries of the nation's workers to meet "basic needs" such as housing, food, utilities, transportation, health care and recreation.
Such a "living wage" was previously attempted in over 80 U.S. cities, many times to disastrous affect.
IS THIS HOW OBAMA WILL STEAL ELECTION? This quiet push would make citizens in dozens of states irrelevant
Progressive organizations are quietly pushing a "popular vote" that could see only 14 states - those with the largest populations - decide the presidency for voters in all 50 states, according to a book released this week that's now skyrocketing up bestseller charts.
The book contains a bonus chapter on the subject and documents concerns over voter fraud in the upcoming presidential election.
It also presents new information about a foreign-based company - Scytl - running hundreds of online U.S. voting systems.

The Perils of Undermining American Heritage
This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Robert Knight was published August 24, 2012 on The Washington Times website.
Facebook's stock may be anemic at the moment, but the social media site is growing by leaps and bounds. It is poised to hit 1 billion users.
The company told admiring geeks on Wednesday that it processes 2.5 billion pieces of content each day and more than 500 terabytes of data. A terabyte is a trillion bytes, or 1 million megabytes.
That's just Facebook. The information universe is expanding at warp speed, as information curator and author Steven Rosenbaum notes in the business magazine Fast Company: "In 2010 we frolicked, Googled, waded, and drowned in 1.2 zettabytes of digital bits and bytes. A year later volume was on an exponential growth curve toward 1.8 zettabytes. (A zettabyte is a trillion gigabytes; that's a 1 with 21 zeros trailing behind it.)"

Check out one of those maps of the county-by-county results for a recent presidential election. The Democrat counties are in blue, and (perversely) the Republican counties are in red. What you will see, no matter the year, are islands of blue engulfed by a sea of red.
The typical interpretation is that the islands of blue are the urban areas where all the people live, and the seas of red are the rural areas where all the rubes live. But that is not the real story these maps tell.
Yes, the blue counties are more urban and populous. They are politically dominated by African Americans, more recent Hispanic immigrants, younger single people, government employees, and welfare dependents. If these groups were not overwhelmingly Democratic, there would be no Democrat party.
Obama Camp Dupes Media on Non-Existent Abortion Controversy in Republican Platform
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published on August 22, 2012 on Breitbart.com.
President Obama's team took misleading politics to a new low yesterday, vilifying pro-life Republicans and the GOP's longstanding platform language on the sanctity of life.
Yesterday the Platform Committee of the Republican Party went through the GOP platform, as the Republican National Convention is set to convene and nominate Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to be the next president and vice president of the United States. As part of that examination, the party approved the following language:
Faithful to the self-evident truths enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, we assert the sanctity of human life and affirm that the unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed. We support a human life amendment to the Constitution and endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment's protections apply to unborn children.

If I were a Klansman, wanting to sabotage black education, I couldn't find better allies than education establishment liberals and officials in the Obama administration, especially Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, who in March 2010 announced that his department was "going to reinvigorate civil rights enforcement."
For Duncan, the civil rights issue was that black elementary and high school students are disciplined at a higher rate than whites. His evidence for discrimination is that blacks are three and a half times more likely to be suspended or expelled than their white peers. Duncan and his Obama administration supporters conveniently ignored school "racial discrimination" against whites, who are more than two times as likely to be suspended as Asians and Pacific Islanders.
Romney-Ryan Engages Americans to Face Looming Fiscal Doom
This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell and ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published on August 21, 2012 on The Huffington Post.
We do not know who will win the White House in November. But we do know that American politics has crossed the Rubicon on spending and entitlements, and these issues will at long last complete the journey from a forbidden third rail to a central element of national politics. Even if Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan lose this year's battle to Barack Obama, they will win the war on the challenge of our generation.
Congressman Paul Ryan is best known for his budget, the Ryan Roadmap, which ties together the two sides of our fiscal-crisis coin: First, the major entitlements of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid will soon be bankrupt and unable to provide for millions of beneficiaries. And second, our growing $16 trillion debt will result in an unprecedented economic disaster if not balanced and then paid off.
This week's Republican National Convention is already experiencing its own drama thanks to Tropical Storm Isaac, which has postponed most of the events until tomorrow. But this year marks the 100th anniversary of another Republican Convention embroiled in political drama of a different nature.
Unlike today's conventions, which are little more than multi-day campaign rallies, at the 1912 affair in Chicago, 1,000 policemen stood by to make sure the delegates didn't get out of hand. Strands of barbed wire lay concealed beneath the bunting on the speaker's platform to keep disgruntled delegates from charging the stage.
On one side was Teddy Roosevelt, who ran for President that year aiming to reshape American democracy. He thrashed lackluster incumbent William Howard Taft in the primary contests, declaring, "I believe in pure democracy."
But his definition of "pure democracy" included upsetting the Constitution. He endorsed "certain governmental devices which will make the representatives of the people more easily and certainly responsible to the people's will." These reforms included the initiative, the referendum, the recall of elected officials and even judicial decisions, and the direct election of U.S. Senators.
On the other side were Taft (Roosevelt's hand-picked successor in the White House just four years earlier) and the Republican leadership, including Senators Elihu Root of New York and Henry Cabot Lodge of Massachusetts. They stood for the Constitution. Root and Lodge were great admirers and longtime friends of Roosevelt, but Roosevelt had sent shock waves through the Republican Party. Roosevelt had proposed a dramatic constitutional change that, according to Schambra, "posed the danger of undermining popular confidence in the institutions of government." Therefore, Root, Lodge, and Taft were determined to deny Roosevelt the nomination at the 1912 Republican convention.
Unlike the typically bland convention keynote speeches designed to smooth feathers ruffled by the nominating contest and unite the party for the main event in November, Root's keynote was a call to constitutional conservatism.
As Schambra notes, Root grounded the Republican Party in the Constitution, since it had been "born in protest against the extension of a system of human slavery approved and maintained by majorities." After all, the GOP was the party of Abraham Lincoln, who had declared in his first inaugural address that "a majority held in restraint by constitutional checks and limitations...is the only true sovereign of a free people." The party's duty, therefore, was not to reform the constitutional system but to "humbly and reverently seek for strength and wisdom to abide by the principles of the Constitution against the days of our temptation and weakness."
Preventing Roosevelt from winning the Republican nomination, these first conservatives saved the party from a platform of radical constitutional reform. But it also meant losing the general election. Taft won only two states, and Democrat Woodrow Wilson became President, with Roosevelt coming in second.
"The result of the Convention was more important than the question of the election," Root later said. Losing the general election did not supplant their "duty to hold the Republican Party firmly to the support of our constitutional system. Worse things can happen to a party than to be defeated."
Root, Lodge, and Taft sacrificed their friendship with Roosevelt and victory in the general election to save the Constitution from a proposed overhaul. Constitutional conservatism began with saving the Republican Party from Teddy Roosevelt. It continues today with the fight to save America from a deeper descent into progressivism. Members of the Tea Party movement are the intellectual heirs of Root, Lodge, and Taft.
Thomas Jefferson wrote that "it is the manners and spirit of a people which preserve a republic in vigor." In a new essay in Heritage's Understanding America series, President Edwin J. Feulner explores the ways the American people are bound to preserve our republic.
It is up to us to ensure that we remain a virtuous and free people, Feulner writes, and to make sure our government stays faithful to the principles on which it was founded.
"This is partly a job for the free press and the ballot box," Feulner writes, "but we will not be able to speak and vote in support of America's founding principles if we forget what those principles are."
As we watch the political party conventions, we have a duty to educate ourselves on the constitutional role of government and to compare that with what the candidates are saying. As Feulner says, "we have always an obligation to pass the inheritance of freedom on, unimpaired, to the next generation."
Congressman Ron Paul is lashing out at Republican efforts to marginalize his supporters at the upcoming party convention, telling a counter rally to stand firm because, in his words, "we will become the tent eventually." Read & Comment

In the Leftist controlled media stories are shouted if they are helpful to Democrats, whispered if they are bad news for Democrats. This is an absolute axiom.
This is why a new poll a new poll commissioned by the American Life League (ALL) is so important. The poll conducted between August 15 and 19 spoke to 900 self-identified Catholic registered voters. There are few English language superlatives that can accurately portray the findings of this survey.
"Earth shaking" "Sea Change" "Devastating" read them and take your pick.
The story was whispered on a recent NPR segment and here's why.
"Women can vote" was the news AUGUST 26, 1920, with the passage of the 19th Amendment: "The right of citizens of the U.S. to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex." Yet even today, in countries adhering to strict Sharia Law, such as Saudi Arabia, women still cannot vote. President Gerald Ford stated February 13, 1976: "Susan B. Anthony...with other dedicated women...took the cause of women's suffrage to State capitals across our growing Nation... The irreversible change she wrought...led to the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment." Also fighting for prohibition of alcohol, Susan B. A female voice says, "Former President Bill Clinton will address the Democratic National Convention - really? Do these people remember Kathleen Wiley?" Headline appears "Accused Clinton of forcibly groping her in the Oval Office"
Voice over, "Do they remember Juanita Broddrick?"
Headline changes to "Accused Clinton of raping her."
Voice over, "Do they remember Monica Lewinsky?"
Headline changes to "Taken advantage of in the Oval Office by Bill Clinton."
Closes with sound coming up and Clinton saying "I never had sex with that women, Miss. Lewinsky..."

There are two types of societies, production societies and rationing societies. The production society is concerned with taking more territory, exploiting that territory to the best of its ability and then discovering new techniques for producing even more. The rationing society is concerned with consolidating control over all existing resources and rationing them out to the people.
The production society values innovation because it is the only means of sustaining its forward momentum. If the production society ceases to be innovative, it will collapse and default to a rationing society. The rationing society however is threatened by innovation because innovation threatens its control over production.
Socialist or capitalist monopolies lead to rationing societies where production is restrained and innovation is discouraged. The difference between the two is that a capitalist monopoly can be overcome. A socialist monopoly however is insurmountable because it carries with it the full weight of the authorities and the ideology that is inculcated into every man, woman and child in the country.
We have become a rationing society. Our industries and our people are literally starving in the midst of plenty. Farmers are kept from farming, factories are kept from producing and businessmen are kept from creating new companies and jobs. This is done in the name of a variety of moral arguments, ranging from caring for the less fortunate to saving the planet. But rhetoric is only the lubricant of power. The real goal of power is always power. Consolidating production allows for total control through the moral argument of rationing, whether through resource redistribution or cap and trade.
As we demonstrated with The Abedin "Affairs" with Al Saud, there is a movement afoot in the West that seeks to transform Muslim minority lands into Muslim majority lands. And while the Right points fingers at the left on an array of issues, we need to seriously examine this movement's spigot-Saudi Arabia and the Royal family.
Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is a member of that family. He acquired 5.46% of Fox News Channel's parent Company - Newscorp. - in 2005. He is also its second largest shareholder. It was Fox News that provided a platform for perhaps the most stinging rebuke of Rep. Michele Bachmann's questions about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in general, and Huma Abedin's background in particular. Edward Rollins - Bachmann's former campaign chief - denounced Bachmann with a piece entitled, "Shame on you, Michele" while Fox provided no counter-balance to speak of.
The Fox News website also reported the rebukes of Bachmann by John McCain and Republican House Speaker John Boehner, yet Bachmann's position was all but ignored.
While the media does its best to spin out political distractions, Romney continues to make steady progress in the polls. Today, ahead of the GOP convention in Tampa, a new poll was released by The Washington Post/ABC. For the first time in the poll, Romney has taken a 1-point lead, edging Obama 47-46. Considering the poll has a D+9 bias, Romney looks to be solidifying his support among a large swath of voters.
It isn't like the Washington Post didn't try to game things for Obama. Like I said, the sample is a ridiculous D+9. As I have noted repeatedly, the electorate was D+7 in 2008. It is not going to become more democrat this year. Additionally, and infuriatingly, the Washington Post continues to report poll findings among all adults, rather than registered voters. Yes, the head-to-head is screened for registered voters, but every other question is simply screened for adults. This is so meaningless its hard to explain it as anything other than an explicit attempt to increase Obama's overall numbers. Yet, even among adults, Obama's numbers look ominous.

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 71 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS
NOTE: I'm in Tampa for the Republican National Convention, so there will be no audio recordings of the "End of Day" report this week.
Dodging Isaac
I arrived in Tampa late last night in the middle of a torrential downpour from Hurricane Isaac. We'll be here to carry the flag for our values, and to make the case for a bold, unapologetic stand on issues related to faith, family and freedom.
By all accounts this election is going to be a nail-biter -- going down the very end, not with one contested state, but perhaps several. A new poll shows the race is tied with Romney and Obama both receiving 45% of the vote in the critical swing state of Ohio.
The GOP needs every vote it can get, and values issues can be powerful motivators driving voters to the ballot box -- as long as voters understand and appreciate the clear differences between the candidates and the parties.
Liberal Crist Endorses Obama
Yesterday, in an op-ed in the Tampa Bay Times, former Republican Governor Charlie Crist endorsed Barack Obama's reelection. It was also announced that Crist would be speaking at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. The media gleefully reported Crist's support for Obama as well as his charge that the GOP has drifted too far to the right.
I appreciate the fact that there are some areas of the country where it is difficult for a candidate to win if he or she speaks like a Heartland conservative. But we are constantly being lectured by the party establishment to accept moderates in areas where conservatives can win.
For example, Crist was the establishment's preferred Senate candidate in Florida in 2010. But when Crist was defeated by a real conservative in the GOP primary, he showed how much he cared about the party when he abandoned it, lurched to the left on values issues and ran as an independent candidate. It didn't do him any good. Pro-life conservative Marco Rubio won by 19 points.
Now two years later, Crist has completed his progressive metamorphosis by endorsing Barack Obama. It is clear from his op-ed he is just another liberal bashing the GOP. After praising Obama's failed stimulus spending, Crist lashed out at the GOP for adopting "the Akin amendment in the Republican Party platform" on abortion.
There's no such thing as the "Akin amendment." This is Ronald Reagan's pro-life plank. It is the same platform as 1980 and every other platform since.
If Charlie Crist wants to be a big government, tax and spend, pro-abortion politician, then he belongs in Obama's party -- where the real extremists on values issues are.
Exposing Obama's Extremism
In the days leading up to November 6th, we'll be doing a lot to expose Obama's extreme record on values issues. In fact, we're about to launch a major media campaign highlighting Obama's embrace of same-sex "marriage."
Our Super PAC, Campaign for American Values, has produced an ad aimed at individuals who voted for Obama hoping for the best -- who trusted him when he said he shared their values and believed marriage was between a man and a woman.
Four years later, there are millions of Americans who are disappointed by his radical agenda, and we need their votes to defeat Obama on November 6th.
We plan on running this ad on MSNBC during the Democratic National Convention in order to remind folks that when it comes to their deeply held values, it is Barack Obama who is the real extremist. But we also know it will give the Democratic establishment and its liberal media allies fits!
Astronaut Neil A. Armstrong passed away over the weekend at the age of 82. Armstrong was a genuine American hero. On July 20, 1969, Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. His comment, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," became one of the best known quotes of modern history and is sure to be remembered for centuries.
But Armstrong did not allow his life to revolve around that historic achievement. He was a humble and private man, but believed passionately in the space program. He was the product of a generation when our leaders, Republicans and Democrats alike, chose greatness. They believed strongly that if mankind was going to explore the heavens, it should be free people, not the slaves of totalitarian regimes, at the vanguard.
In recent years, Armstrong has spoken out against Barack Obama's cuts to the space program -- cuts Armstrong described as "devastating." Today our astronauts can't get into space unless they hitch a ride on board a Russian rocket.

Politics Of Racial Division: Hillary And Obama Ignoring Genocide Against Whites
Aug 26, 2012 01:26 pm Hillary Clinton, the liberal darling of the left - lately touted as the replacement for our "gaffe-prone" vice president, Joe Biden - has certainly proven herself to be a team player on Obama's and the Democrats' policy of division and opportunism in all things racial. The Obama Administration has met with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)-the Muslim "outreach" group-hundreds of times. You already know Congressman Todd Akin caused a national firestorm when he suggested a woman's body has ways of preventing pregnancy after a legitimate rape.
But now, a top doctor is coming forward with evidence to say the embattled Republican is not far off the mark.
President Obama, not Mitt Romney, is the real "radical" who puts "restructuring the U.S. and its economy" ahead of national security, claims this American statesman.
Barack Obama sold himself to America as the multi-cultural ideal, a man who stood above politics. Was the goat-herding Kenyan father only a fairy tale to obscure a Marxist agenda, irreconcilable with American values? Check out the new film offering Republicans a divergent theory of what may have shaped our 44th president's life and politics.
President Obama's people are in charge of the stringent security at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla. They instigated it. What do they fear?
Ever since Mitt Romney picked Paul Ryan as running mate, people have been quite frightened of this thing called a "budget" that Ryan has been proposing. It's been many years since our country has seen such a thing, so I thought I'd address some common questions and allay the concerns out there.
Political conversation on the media is full of chatter about how to cut spending and debt, but it reminds us of the comment attributed to Mark Twain: Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it. There's a lot of talk about how to cut back on entitlements, but why doesn't somebody suggest cutting the extravagant federal dollars spent on education, which is not even an entitlement?
The billions spent on education have not achieved any of their designated goals, which were to raise the test scores and to close the gap between kids from upper-income and lower-income families. The handouts, however, produced a lot of cheating by teachers and administrators trying to hide their failure to achieve designated goals.
We hear about increasing the role of the states in other areas such as Medicaid. But the most important area where the states should have primary responsibility is education.
The most powerful union of government employees is the National Education Association (NEA), which held this year's annual national convention as usual over the Fourth of July weekend, attracting 9,000 delegates. To no one's surprise, it resembled a re-election campaign rally for Barack Obama, with the pressure on delegates to identify themselves as EFO (Educators for Obama).

Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie - the Man from SOROS - has done himself and his office no honor with his high-handed attempt to undermine the proposed Minnesota constitutional amendments protecting traditional marriage and requiring photo identification for voting. Ritchie sought to undermine the proposed amendments' chances of passage by toying with the ballot titles prescribed by the legislature.
Today the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that, in doing so, Ritchie overstepped his bounds. The Court's opinion in the two consolidated cases is posted here, with a related opinion, also released today, posted here.

A new Washington Post/ABC survey shows that Mitt Romney has a huge lead over President Obama among married women. The Hill has the details:
Married women are strongly backing Mitt Romney, 55%-40%, over Barack Obama.
Compare that with 2008 exit polls when Obama won married women with children, 51%-47%, while McCain won married women with no kids 53%-44%.
Romney's 15% margin soundly beats both numbers.
That 15% is identical to George W. Bush's 2004 performance when he beat John Kerry among married women, 57%-42%, so there's good precedent for Romney with his current margin.
Overall, Obama's current lead among all women (49%-43%) is thanks to his huge lead with unmarried women, 57%-32%.
But note: That's a smaller 25% lead than Kerry's 29% win with single women in 2004.
So among both married and single women, Obama is doing worse than John Kerry.
Thus far, the so-called "war on women" isn't leading to any stronger a gender gap than in previous, close elections.
And the so-called "gender gap" is about something other than gender.
Now he's done it. It wasn't enough for Francis Fukuyama to declare (rather prematurely) the "end of history"; now he's gone and declaimed about The Wire, the greatest television show ever done (except for Firefly, but that's a rant for another day). Actually, it's quite a good piece. Fukuyama notes that the series creator, David Simon, is a lefty who thought he was making a proto-Marxist critique of American society:
As David Simon put it in an interview, The Wire "is a meditation on the death of work and the betrayal of the American working class, it is a deliberate argument that unencumbered capitalism is not a substitute for social policy."
But like any ambitious or complicated artistic representation, the intention and what comes across to many viewers may not match up. Simon might, for example, be dumbfounded to learn that Milton Friedman's favorite book about the wrongheadedness of the Progressive Era was by a Marxist-Gabriel Kolko's The Triumph of Conservatism, which, instead of converting readers to a Thorsten Veblen-style view of "political capitalism," essentially laid out a devastating public choice style critique of crony capitalism and an unintentional brief for de-regulation. (Note to Occupy Wall Street: put down your solar-powered bongs long enough to recognize who is the chief practicioner of crony capitalism today-the Democratic Party.)
Sure enough, several aspects of The Wire fit with the left-liberal narrative about America's supposed moral turpitude-especially Season 2, with a main story line about the decline of unionized dockworkers-but other seasons could have been taken straight from the neoconservative pages of Edward Banfield, James Q. Wilson, and Charles Murray. Check out the third season (main theme: drug legalization), and the fourth season (corruption of city hall, ineptitude of the public school bureaucracy) and fifth season (corruption of the media); I've told Charles Murray several times that he could have written the scripts for Seasons 3 & 4. As Fukuyama describes it:
The black mayor of Baltimore, his black police commissioner and white deputy chief of operations don't actually care much about quality of life in the inner city; they focus instead on getting homicide numbers down so that crime can't be used against them or their bosses in the next election.
While Fukuyama expresses some sympathy for David Simon's implicit view that we've abandoned serious attempts at positive social policy to remedy the social pathologies depicted on The Wire, it seems to me you don't have to be a libertarian to watch The Wire's depiction of the dysfunctionality of urban government ask the question-why would we want to give these people more power and money?
Even better: Fukuyama notes that "Tommy Carcetti, the Martin O'Malley figure who wins election as a white mayor of Baltimore by making crime his issue, has by the end of the series moved to the Governor's office, where he now needs to cater to a wealthy white suburban electorate." Carcetti is a completely repulsive and grasping politician on The Wire, and indeed this does seem like a good case of art imitating life, as I find Gov. O'Malley to be just as repulsive and grasping in real life. Kudos to Simon for nailing this one!
Last week, when a poll by a Democratic outfit showed Republican Pete Hoekstra narrowly leading incumbent Debbie Stabenow in the Michigan Senate race, I cautioned that we should wait for more polling before expressing any optimism about this race. Now comes a poll from Mitchell Research that gives Hoekstra a similarly narrow lead.
The Mitchell poll has Hoekstra nominally ahead, 45-44. The earlier poll, by FMW, had Hoekstra ahead 48-46. Both polls surveyed more than 1,000 likely voters. Combined, they surveyed 3,000. However, a poll by the Detroit News, taken after the FMW poll but before Mitchell's, has Stabenow leading 48-40. The Detroit News surveyed 600 likely voters.
The Mitchell poll also contains good news for Mitt Romney. It shows him tied with President Obama, 47-47. A poll by Mitchell from earlier in August had Obama leading Romney by 5 points.
In other "Big Ten" Senate polling news, the Columbus Dispatch shows a deadlock in the Ohio Senate race between leftist incumbent Sherrod Brown and Republican challenger Josh Mandel, a "Power Line Pick Six" candidate. The Dispatch surveyed more than 1,700 likely voters. Of the five reported polls taken in August of this race, three show a virtual deadheat, while two show Brown in the lead (by 10 points, per PPP, and 7 points, per Quinnipiac).
At a minimum, then, it's fair to say that the Michigan and Ohio Senate races both are in play. And in Wisconsin, as we have noted, Tommy Thompson has a nice lead over Democrat Tammy Baldwin.
As for Missouri, well, it's not part of the Big Ten.
Former Florida Governor Charlie Crist will speak at the Democratic Convention on a day yet to be determined. Crist, formerly a Republican, has already endorsed President Obama.
A convention address by a prominent politician with ties to the other party can be effective. Zell Miller brought down the house, and likely swayed some undecided voters, with his scathing attack on the Democrats in 2004. Joe Lieberman, the anti-Zell Miller in a way, delivered an effective speech on behalf of his friend John McCain in 2008.
I don't know what kind of a speaker Crist is, but there is an important difference between him and Miller/Lieberman. Miller was a winner. He won easy election to the Senate in 2000. Lieberman was also a winner, having defeated a left-wing Democrat and a Republican in 2006 to hold his Senate seat.
Crist, by contrast, is a loser. In 2010, he dropped out of the Republican Senate primary because he had no shot at defeating Marco Rubio. He then ran as an independent. Rubio trounced him, 49 percent to 30 percent.
The fact that Crist lost gives rise to the suspicion that his endorsement of Obama represents sour grapes. This suspicion gains strength from the fact that Crist in the past has been quite critical of Obama. By contrast, Miller turned against his fellow Democrats for coherent ideological reasons - Miller was moderate to conservative. Similarly, Lieberman endorsed McCain because the two had long been closely aligned on foreign policy and national security issues, and because Lieberman sensed, correctly, that Obama's views on these matters did not comport with the Lieberman/McCain approach.
Unfortunately, there is one more difference between Crist and Miller/Lieberman - Crist comes from a state that the Republicans probably must win. Moreover, as noted, Crist pulled in 30 percent of the Florida vote in his 2010 Senate race. In the context of Crist's career, that showing was fairly pathetic. But in the context of an extremely tight presidential race in Florida, it can't be discounted.
Back to School: Some Surprising Education NumbersBy Lindsey Burke
As children head back to the classrooms, let's look an important figure to consider this school year: $11,400.
$11,400: Average per-pupil, per year spending in public schools.
Students headed back to school this fall will have historically high levels of dollars spent on them in the public school system. Nationally, average per-pupil spending exceeds $11,400 this year, meaning a child entering kindergarten today can expect to have no less than $148,000 spent on his or her education by the time the child graduates high school. In all, more than $570 billion will be spent on public K-12 education this year.
Sadly, continual increases in the money spent per child and in overall spending haven't led to increases in academic achievement. That's due in large part to the fact that most parents still do not have control over where or how that money is spent. We continue to fund institutions-sending that money to schools-instead of actually funding children.
Imagine if a child could put those dollars in a funding "backpack" and take that $11,400 to any school-public, private, or virtual. As in every other sector of American life, we would likely see outcomes improve as a result of competitive pressure placed on the government school system.
Texas Senate Committee Considers School Choice Texas' proposed program would allow families to receive a portion of their education dollars to send children to private schools of their choice.
The Rise of Customized EducationBy Lindsey Burke Customized learning has led the education news cycle over the past few weeks as back to school season gets in full swing. And for good reason. Every day there is growing evidence that a seismic shift in the delivery of instruction is underway, bringing with it a tidal wave of educational options for families. Recent coverage in Education Week, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal has highlighted the success of hybrid and customized learning in the K-12 arena.
Higher education is also becoming increasingly customized. Daphne Koller, co-founder of Coursera, an online learning platform that offers free courses to anyone in the world from some of the U.S.'s top universities, explains the massive potential customization that online learning holds. Koller describes how one of her Stanford colleagues had over 100,000 students enrolled in a machine course online. "So to put that number into perspective, for [the professor] to reach that same size audience by teaching a Stanford class, he would have to do that for 250 years."
"I am convinced that we are on the cusp of a monumental revolution in American education-a revolution in which many of our most important allies will be middle-class public school parents.... And the more they move away from one-size-fits-all schooling, the easier it will be to build a critical mass of parents interested in major education reform."
