Egypt's Morsi replaces military chiefs in bid to consolidate power
By Ernesto Londoņo, Published: August 12The Washington Post
CAIRO - Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi forced out the country's two top military chiefs Sunday, in a bold move to wrest power from the armed forces and marginalize key holdovers of ousted president Hosni Mubarak's reign.
Seizing on a brazen attack last week in north Sinai that killed 16 Egyptian security forces, Morsi on Sunday swore in a new defense minister, who will command the armed forces, and made additional major personnel moves. The president also announced that he had suspended a constitutional amendment the generals passed on the eve of Morsi's election giving themselves vast powers and weakening the presidency.
In an on-going power struggle, Egypt's new Islamist president forced out the head of the military. In addition, President Mohammed Morsi also cancelled new constitutional amendments that had given top generals wide powers.
The ousted military chiefs quietly stepped aside Sunday, but analysts said the move could trigger a backlash and further polarize a nation in which many are wary of the intentions of the country's first Islamist president. Morsi ran as the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group that has yearned for decades to lead Egypt.

USA medalist Leo Manzano waves Mexican flag after silver win; Americans angry
- Leo Manzano
- August 10, 2012
- By: Jodi Jill
Leo Manzano won the Men's 1500 meter race on Tuesday bringing home the silver for the United States, but what happened next has fans furious at the Olympian. As most athletes do in track, the winners wrap themselves in the colors of their countries, which is exactly what Leo Manzano did with the United States flag. Then he picked up the Mexican flag and waved it to the crowd.
The opportunity to show off both flags has enraged the fans of Team USA. Supporting the athlete from the beginning to the podium, many fans feel they have been betrayed by Manzano's decision to hoist a flag from another country (who he technically wasn't representing.) The issue has become heated and even the win has people refusing to Leo Manzano's contribution to the United States team.

A Brief History & Description of Agenda 21
| | By Kelly OConnell
Wednesday, August 1, 2012
Whether there is such a thing as a world plan for socialist domination must be answered by individuals pondering recent, sometimes strange confluences of world events. But if there were such a plan, would it appear in any clearer form that the United Nations Agenda 21 program?
Agenda 21 is a plank of UN policy encouraging the globe to embrace Sustainable Development, which conservatives understand as a code word for global Marxism:
Sustainable development sounds like a nice idea, right? It sounds nice, until you scratch the surface and find that Agenda 21 and sustainable development are really cloaked plans to impose the tenets of social justice/socialism on the world. At risk from Agenda 21; Private property ownership; Single-family homes; Private car ownership and individual travel choices; and Privately owned farms.
Agenda 21 remains to many, classic Marxism which must be rejected-as the Alabama legislature did recently.
I. Evolution of Agenda 21: Journey to Sustainable Development
The following is a brief evolution of Agenda 21, the UN program designed to help save the planet.
A. Ramsar Convention (1971)
According to the site for ANPED, the Northern Alliance for Sustainability, there were a number of International Environmental Agreements (IEA's) which came before Agenda 21. Of the 1131 listed Agreements and Modifications, ANPED singles out a handful as significant before Agenda 21, starting with the 1971 Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, especially as Waterfowl Habitat). Another site, Texans Against Agenda 21, also states that the seed agreement for Agenda 21 was Ramsar:

8/13/2012 7:30 PM Dear Friends, Our Saturday press release on the Romney/Ryan ticket was picked up by several media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and Newsmax.com. Wall Street Journal Article on Ryan VP Nomination Terry Ruggles of NBC 10 interviewed us, as well. The story should be airing tonight at 6 PM and, possibly, 11 PM. Sunday's 'Winning in 2012' program was a huge success--thanks to those groups and individuals who participated, especially our honored guests: American Spectator's John Fund; WPHT's Dom Giordano; American Majority's Martin Gillespie; Political Analyst Rich Zeoli (also of WPHT); Election Law Expert Linda Kearns, Esquire; and last, but not least, SaveJersey.com's Matt Rooney, Esquire. Nearly 100 people joined us throughout the afternoon. It was great to see so many familiar faces--and an Inquirer reporter (see link to story below). A video of the event will be posted on our website ASAP. world/20120813_Author_hints_Pa__voter-ID_foes_trying_to_hide_something.html http://www.philly.com/philly/news/nation_ |

Activate: How to turn the 2012 election from a close call to a mandate
Last night, Glenn focused on the importance of commitment. He was the first to admit, a lot of last night's show was something you had heard before - but it's important to start at the beginning and to make sure you know what you believe before you get put into action. And tonight, Glenn revealed ways for you to really get moving!
Tonight, the focus of the show was "Activate" - and it was all about the election and how you can make sure that one way or another - 2012 is a year for a mandate for or against the progressives. And if you think it doesn't matter just take a look at what is happening right now in Wisconsin. Progressives and unions are doing everything they can to make sure that Walker loses. It's a microcosm to what is happening around the country, and Glenn thought it was so important that he recapped it on tonight's show (in under three minutes!):

Dear Friends,
We have 98 days left to stop the American Nation from becoming the Obama Nation.
If we give this president four more years, he will finish the job of remolding America into a hard-core keynesian state resembling some of the most economically dependent
nations in Europe--in particular--Greece and Spain.
We do not have to travel down this road. We can change the course. You can help steer America in the right direction.
If you want an America where free enterprise is respected and ObamaCare is repealed,
and not the other way, stay in the area this summer & fall . Volunteer at Republican Victory Centers.
Attend local events promoting our region's Republican Congressional candidates--including our tri-state Republican US Senate candidates--Tom Smith (PA), Joe Kyrillas (NJ), and Kevin Wade (DE).

I have some very exciting news! Citizens United Productions has just announced an all rights distribution deal for our newest film Occupy Unmasked with Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, owned by Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner. Magnet is giving the film a limited theatrical release with VOD in late September to be followed by the DVD release. I've attached the full press release at the bottom of this email. While the Liberal establishment and mainstream media portray the Occupy Wall Street movement as organic and nonviolent, Occupy Unmasked reveals the sinister, organized, and highly orchestrated nature of its leaders and their number one goal: Not just to change government, but to destroy it. Led by hugely influential conservative visionary, the late Andrew Breitbart, Occupy Unmasked delves deep beneath the surface of the Occupy movement to show its dark anarchist roots. Behind the largely naīve students and legitimately concerned citizens looking for answers stand those who advocate the use of violence, black bloc operations, and intimidation as protest tactics - the same tactics they used during the anti-war protests of the 1960's, anti-nuclear weapons protests of the 80's, WTO protests of the 90's, and the IMF protests of recent years. Former leftists turned patriotic citizen journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy, Lee Stranahan, and others take viewers into the Occupy camps around the country to see first-hand the truth of what is happening and who is at the heart of the movement. Exclusive footage and eyewitness accounts tell the story of the criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps - much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media. Directed by Stephen K. Bannon (The Undefeated, Generation Zero), Occupy Unmasked is an eye-opening look at a startling movement that could have a dangerous impact on the future of America. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS EXPLOSIVE FILM! Sincerely, David N. BossiePresident of Citizens United Executive Producer of Occupy Unmasked P.S. We continue to take pre-orders so be the first to own Occupy Unmasked on DVD by purchasing TODAY! FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Magnet Releasing to Distribute Andrew Breitbart Doc OCCUPY UNMASKED New York, August 6, 2012 - The Wagner/Cuban Company's Magnet Releasing announced today an all rights distribution deal for Citizens United Productions' documentary OCCUPY UNMASKED, one of the last projects featuring the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart. OCCUPY UNMASKED was written and directed by award-winning director Stephen K. Bannon and produced by David N. Bossie. Magnet is giving the film a limited theatrical release day and date with VOD in late September. "This film is controversial, and that's exactly the reason we want to ensure it can find its audience prior to the November elections," said Mark Cuban, co-owner of Magnet. "I look forward to our partnership with Citizens United Productions and to getting this film out to the masses." OCCUPY UNMASKED takes viewers into the Occupy Wall Street camps around the country in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Portland, Denver and Oakland for an up-close look at what's happened there and who's at the heart of the movement, documenting criminal activity and raw brutality in the camps - much of which has not been reported by the mainstream media. In addition to Andrew Breitbart, the film features journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy, and Lee Stranahan. "I am proud to announce that Citizens United Productions is teaming up with Mark Cuban and Magnet to distribute OCCUPY UNMASKED, and elevate the film the Left does not want the American people to see," said Producer David N. Bossie. "This distribution deal will keep the groundbreaking work of the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart alive for years to come." "As a dear friend of Andrew's, I could not be more thrilled that this deal got completed and all Americans will have an opportunity to see one of Andrew Breitbart's final pieces of work," said writer/director Stephen K. Bannon. "This film is important because it sheds new light on the myth of the Occupy Wall Street movement. I know audiences across the country will be startled by what we uncovered in this explosive documentary."

Half price off 2013 Summit Registration until august 15th
Our seventh annual Washington Summit was our best to date. Never before have we been so warmly received by our nation's leaders in Washington. And never before have we had such an immediate impact. In fact, legislation we support to enhance U.S.-Israel security cooperation was passed even before our Summit was over!
Let's face it -- there's nothing like having thousands of pro-Israel Christians from every state in the Union in town to focus Congress on the need to stand with Israel!
As our delegates discovered, the very fact that they cared enough about Israel to travel all the way to Washington gave them immediate credibility, influence and favor with their members of Congress. Increasingly, Members of Congress and their staff are getting to know our members by name and are staying in touch with them after they return home.
Our DC summit is not a one-time event. It's an annual opportunity for you to become an influential spokesman for Israel in your community. We give you the training. We schedule your appointments. All you need to do is show up and stand up for Israel.
Whether or not you were able to join us this year, we pray that you'll plan on joining us next year. Our 2013 Washington Summit will be held on July 22- 24. While the trip is not inexpensive, making your decision to join us now will give you almost a full year to save up for this powerful experience.
We'd like to encourage you to plan ahead -- and help you save enough -- by providing you with additional savings if you make your decision soon. If you register for the 2013 Summit by August 15th, you will only have to pay half the full Summit price.
We pray that we will see you in Washington, D.C. July 22- 24, 2013.
May God Bless You and Those That You Love,

The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq
Jul 18th, 2012
Daniel Greenfield's new Freedom Center pamphlet, The Great Betrayal: Obama's Wars and the War in Iraq, is an effort to understand the politics of the "war on terror" which has now reached a final punctuation point with the U.S. decision to speed its withdrawal from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan (where success was once deemed so crucial to national security), and to practice an incoherent form of regime change in Libya while ignoring more serious threats in Syria and Iran.
The war on terror began, Greenfield shows, as an admirable bipartisan commitment soon after the tragedy of 9/11-an effort to transcend party lines not only to punish those who attacked our country but also to interrupt planning for further attacks and try to stop the international spread of the Islamic jihad behind the attacks. But the Democratic Party, with the honorable exception of a few individuals like Richard Gephardt and Joe Lieberman, turned its back on a war soon after authorizing it, and did so at a time when American troops were facing hostile enemy fire.
Although Senate Democrats on the intelligence oversight committee had been granted access to every piece of data available to the White House, they now accused President Bush of tricking them to secure their approval. In fact, their own about-face was entirely dictated by political considerations when a Sixties antiwar activist, Howard Dean, surged ahead in the Democratic primary polls and it appeared for a moment that Americans were on the side of retreat and capitulation.
Although regime change in Iraq had been official U.S. policy since Bill Clinton signed the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, Democratic senators such as John Kerry who only months earlier had supported the war effort now launched demoralizing attacks on the American commander-in-chief and his troops in the field, stigmatizing it as "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time." If the truth was the first casualty of their war against the Bush administration, the second casualty was the principle of bi-partisanship that had guided foreign policy debates throughout the Cold War, the principle that "politics stops at the water's edge." Now partisan politics trumped security.
The unrestrained attacks on the Iraq War as illegal and unjustified went largely unanswered by Republicans who failed to call the Democratic saboteurs of the nation's war effort to account or to decry the risk their cynical attacks posed to American servicemen and women on the battlefield. As Greenfield demonstrates, the Democrats' partisanship had consequences not only in Iraq but elsewhere in the region: the paralysis that resulted from their "anti-war" campaign led straight to the destruction of Lebanon and the installation of a terrorist army, Hezbollah, there as a regime within a regime. And it emboldened an overtly Islamofascist regime in Iran not only to supply the IEDs responsible for most of our troop fatalities in Iraq but also to proceed with a nuclear program aimed directly at Israel and the West.
The Great Betrayal shows that Barack Obama's abandonment of Iraq is a betrayal of all the Americans and Iraqis who gave their lives to establish freedom in that country. And the result of his policies in Afghanistan has been as disastrous. While the President presented his rationale for pursuing war there as the pursuit of al-Qaeda, after abandoning his "surge" (which resulted in two thirds of all America's Afghan casualties there and the resurgence of the Taliban allies of al-Qaeda), he blithely prepared for withdrawal as if national objectives had been met.

By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their 'civilization jihad' - a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.
Welcome to The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within - a 10-part, web-based video briefing that is designed to explain why and how this is happening.
It addresses a threat most Americans are unaware even exists within our country, let alone the degree of peril it represents. The threat is the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine its adherents call "shariah" and the organized, disciplined and increasingly successful efforts by such adherents-- most especially the Muslim Brotherhood-- to bring it here.
We are making this course available in the hope of encouraging, informing and broadening support for national efforts to defeat the insinuation into this country of shariah's anti-constitutional and seditious program.

"Losing our Sons": Documentary looks at domestic Islamic radicalization and jihadization
Charles Jacobs at Americans for Peace and Tolerance announced today the release of a trailer for their upcoming documentary, "Losing Our Sons", featuring Melvin Bledsoe - father of domestic terrorist Carlos Bledsoe aka Abdulhakim Mohamed who gunned down US Army recruiter Pvt. William Long at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2009. Melvin Bledsoe testified at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing earlier this month.
The upcoming documentary discusses how Bledsoe was radicalized by the Muslim Student Association in Tennessee and sent to terrorist training in Yemen with the written recommendation of the imam of a Nashville mosque. It also discusses how the agents of radicalization in the Nashville Muslim community have been aided by collaborators in the establishment media, politics and the so-called "interfaith" community.

Defense of Environment and Property Act You and I are on the verge of losing a vital battle to stop the EPA's reign of terror on property owners. The only way to win is to strongly demand that more members of the U.S. Senate co-sponsor and support Senator Rand Paul's new bill. If we fail, the bill will die. Let me explain. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and the Fish and Wildlife Service have become OUTLAW agencies of our federal government. And it's time we brought them under control. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has introduced a bill to do just that. It's called the Defense of Environment and Property Act of 2012 (S. 2122). Senator Paul's Bill is vital for the protection of private property and personal freedom. It is a new weapon to stop enforcement of Agenda 21 policies. It is urgent that you sign the enclosed petition to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell urging support for S.2122 so that we can finally put a stop to the outrages of these outlaw agencies. Why do I call these federal agencies Outlaws? Because they are making their own rules under the pretext of enforcing federal law, particularly the Clean Water Act. As a result, they are ruining the lives of innocent, law abiding Americans and locking away millions of acres of private land - using the excuse of protecting the environment.
- They pretend that occasional mud puddles are wet lands that have to be protected.
- They arrest property owners for simply improving their land, claiming they have violated the Clean Water Act. Many have served prison time for nothing more than putting some fill dirt in a ditch.
- They block property owners from building on their land.
- And they issue crushing fines against property owners, even when there is no proven violation.
- They sneak onto private land looking for violations. And sometimes they even manufacture those violations and then arrest the owners.
- And when they declare an area of the property to be a wetland, true or not, the property owner can no longer use the land, nor sell it.
This is government out of control. This is a tyranny orchestrated to enforce the policies of Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development. But you and I can stop it. We need to build support for Senator Paul's Bill, "Defense of Environment and Property Act, S.2122." His bill defines exactly what a "navigable water way" is. It is not a mud puddle or a temporary runoff of rain water. How sad it is that a Senate Bill has to clarify these definitions for government agencies entrusted to comply with the law. But that's what must be done. Senator Paul's bill also makes it mandatory that Federal agents get written permission from the property owner to enter the land. No more sneaking! And finally, Senator Paul's bill tells the federal government that, if it takes private land, then it has to pay double the value of the land to the landowner. Why? Because once the government declares that land is a wetland - the property value plummets. Doubling the price will help enforce the "just compensation" provisions of the 5th Amendment to the Constitution. S.2122 will help stop enforcement of the UN's Agenda 21 that the EPA and these other federal agencies are working to enforce. So, please, right now, sign your enclosed "Support S.2122" petition to your U.S. Senator I need thousands of these signed petitions to build support for the bill. Remember, we have to force it past Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid - one of the worst violators of American property rights and individual liberties. And he decides what bills are brought to the Senate floor for a vote. Only by flooding Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's office with signed petitions can we bi-pass Harry Reid and force a vote for S.2122. The good news is that Senator Paul is Senator McConnell's fellow senator from Kentucky. He will help us get a vote if he sees enough support for the bill from Americans nationwide. But it won't happen without our efforts! So please sign your petition today! And, if you can, please call your two Senators and demand they co-sponsors the bill. 30 co-sponsors would assure the bill would get action. And will you also include a contribution to APC with your signed petition? APC has been on the front lines fighting these agencies for many years. In fact, APC is one of the only organizations that's been in this fight from the beginning. I have personally worked with some of the victims I've described here. I have shared their tears and frustrations and I pledged to get justice for them. You and I must stop these outlaw agencies before they ruin the lives of more innocent Americans. Your financial support of APC will help make sure that happens. You have seen what APC can do when we take on a battle. The huge national battle now raging across the nation against Agenda 21 is a direct result of APC's 18 year fight to expose this massive UN threat. I never gave up. I kept fighting against all odds. And as a result - today we are making huge progress to in stopping Agenda 21. Your financial support is all I have to wage these battles. No corporations will give us grants because APC is too controversial. Nor will any large foundations - for the same reason. And that's OK with me. I much prefer to be supported by dedicated individual contributors like you. That keeps APC independent and much more effective in our fight against the tyrannical forces like the UN and the EPA. So, please, will you help me lead this battle to pass Senator Rand Paul's Defense of Environment and Property Act (S.2122) so we can reign in these outlaw agencies. Whatever amount you can send - I urgently need it today. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will do everything he can to kill S. 2122 so that these outlaw agencies can continue to terrorize American property owners. With your signed petition to Minority Leader McConnell, and your generous contribution to APC today, we can win. Please join me in this battle to stop these outlaw agencies. Click here to sign your petition now Sincerely, Tom DeWeese President P.S. Senator Paul's bill needs more co-sponsors to stay alive. The best way to get them is to call your two senators and ask them to co-sponsor. Tell them it is vital that we reign in the power of this outlaw agency before it destroys our property rights. I've enclosed the phone number for the U.S. Senate switch board on the enclosed reply form. Please do it today.
Tom DeWeese's Newsire It Begins... Federal Government Sues to Gain Control of Southern State's Water Supply Gateway Pundit | "The lawyers told the committee the U.S. government is apparently trying to take over legal management of the state's water supply. The federal government has asserted claims for damages to groundwater in a natural resource damage case in New Mexico involving Chevron/Molycorp. The claim seeks for those damages to be awarded in the form of future water rights management." All over the country water rights are being stolen. In Tennessee it is for "mitigation" purposes, in California it is for the "smelt" (a tiny fish). You name a state and if the powers-that-be haven't begun the theft of water rights, they have the blueprint on their desks. Without water we cannot live; they know that but do most Americans? If so, where are their voices? To all "Stop Agenda 21" Activists: I need your help. APC is helping to build a comprehensive research archive of information in our fight against Agenda 21. Right now, we need hi resolution photos and videos of town hall meetings or other gatherings, such as rallies in front of city hall, etc. This material must not be copyrighted. This can include photos of movement leaders, perhaps speaking to groups and rallies, photos of local planning meetings, the UN, the HUD and EPA buildings, local planned communities in your area, of land that has been grabbed, businesses that have been shut down, anything related to sustainable development policies and related results. Send your photos and videos to (online) at admin@americanpolicy.org, or, if not online, mail to American Policy Center, P.O. Box 3598, Warrenton, VA 20188. Be sure to describe what you are sending! Thanks, Tom

The Feds are doing all they can to put a stop to hydraulic fracturing on Federal and Indian lands. We can't let them take away this country's golden opportunity for safe natural gas production. Natural gas and oil production opportunities around the country have increased dramatically with the innovation of hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling. One place that production has been stifled is Federal and Indian lands in the West. Click here to contact the Bureau of Land Management and tell them you oppose unnecessary hydraulic fracturing regulations. Hydraulic fracturing has been around for more than 60 years and has proven to be a safe and efficient technique for natural gas and oil production. Despite what you hear from the frantic environmentalists and media, there hasn't been a single case of contaminated water ever connected to hydraulic fracturing. In fact, recent tests from Dimock, Pennsylvania, which were made famous in the environmental propaganda film "Gasland," showed that the water is safe to drink and gas production hasn't harmed the area.
What's more, safe the bountiful fracturing is leading the economic recovery in one U.S. state. Because of increased state and private production in the Bakken Shale, North Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate and fastest growing economy in the nation. North Dakota is proof that this industry has the potential to provide tens of thousands of out-of-work Americans with access to long term value-creating jobs!
Click here to contact the Bureau of Land Management and tell them you oppose unnecessary hydraulic fracturing regulations.
Sincerely,

Victory Center" on Facebook
-Gabriel Malor
Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center app will, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.

It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on. RedState Morning Briefing
For August 14, 2012
Dear Morning Briefing Subscriber:
I would normally wait until tomorrow and throw this in the next Morning Briefing, but I think we need to go on and dispense with the silly, shallow talking points about Paul Ryan's radicalism.
It is mathematically indisputable that should President Barack Obama obtain his legislative desire and increase taxes on those making $250,000.00 a year or more the nation would not close even this year's budget deficit. Never mind the $16 trillion in national debt, the income brought in through that tax increase would not balance this year's federal budget.
It is also mathematically indisputable that should the Democrats' obtain the ultimate fantasy of the grade school marxists routinely populating the ranks of left-wing economists, more commonly referred to as the "Occupy Wall Street" movement - confiscating 100% of income from all those making $250,000.00 a year or more - the nation still would not close this year's budget deficit.
Marxist sounding pablum about the rich paying their fair share and not building their businesses aside, the Democrats' covetousness of American salaries accomplishes nothing more than temporarily satiating their addiction to spending. Paul Ryan, as Mitt Romney's Vice Presidential nominee, has made a career of shining the spotlight on the Democrats' addiction to spending.
Paul Ryan's budget plan, called the "Path to Prosperity" has become a necessary lightening rod on the road to fiscal sanity. Because of the President's spending addiction, the nation has been without a real budget for more than one thousand days. President Obama's budget plans for the past few years have been too radical even for the most radical Democrats in Congress, failing to pass even the Democrat controlled Senate with a single vote.
Despite the rhetoric from spending addicts on the left, Paul Ryan's plan is not the radical path conservatives would prefer. The plan does not balance the federal budget for three decades and is premised on the assumption that future congresses will show restraint. Three decades is an extraordinarily long time, but the plan does eventually balance, which is something the President's own budget never does.
There's more to digest. When you get a chance, go on over to RedState and read the rest of this. Let's go on and tackle this silly notion about Paul Ryan's plan being radical. It's only radical because it is on paper, something the Democrats will not do. They'd prefer to lie.
Sincerely yours, Erick Erickson Editor,RedState.com
1. Election Day in Wisconsin: Go Vote for Mark Neumann
It's time Wisconsin. Heck, it has been a long time coming.
Today, please go vote for Mark Neumann for the United States Senate. Polls in Wisconsin have the race incredibly close.
There is a real chance for Wisconsin to send a man to the Senate who will join Ted Cruz, Richard Mourdock, Deb Fischer, and the conservatives already there to bring back fiscal sanity to Washington.
Eric Hovde would not be going to Washington, he would be returning home. No man goes home and storms his own castle. Eric Hovde would protect the same policies Washington has churned out that have helped make him a very rich man.
Tommy Thompson still holds on the glory days of school reform, but has, out of office and in the Bush Administration, been a proponent of big government, Obamacare, and fiscal insanity.
Only Mark Neumann will go to Washington to make Washington as inconsequential as possible in all our lives. Go vote for him today.
2. Blowing Up the "Paul Ryan Will Turn Off Women" Meme
But hey! Barack Obama will always have the mom jeans voters.
3. Martha Zoller: Let's Get Her To Congress
Georgia's 9th Congressional District runoff presents the two faces of the Republican Party and asks voters to choose.
On one hand is Doug Collins. Collins would fit right in with the Congressional Republicans who raised the debt ceiling on the promise of spending cuts and then weaseled out of the cuts. He'd fit right in with a GOP that gives lip to repealing Obamacare, but is actually too scared of picking a fight on defunding it.
Doug Collins was an inconsequential legislator in the Georgia General Assembly whose only question when asked by Republican Leaders to jump was "how high?" He supported the largest tax increase in Georgia history, the T-SPLOST, but, like Lee Anderson running in Georgia's 12th Congressional District, lacked the testicular fortitude to actually vote for the tax increase himself. Instead, he sent it off to voters telling them the legislature would punish them if they didn't vote to raise their own taxes.
This is the second time Collins did this. The first time was with trauma funding. Doug Collins is not afraid to be a big spender or a big taxer, but is too chicken to man up and take responsibility himself for the consequences of his policy choices.
Then there is Martha Zoller.
4. Rick Allen for Congress in GA-12
The12th Congressional District of Georgia is routinely cursed with less than stellar candidates for Congress on the Republican side trying to take out John Barrow, the play it safe liberal who has cat like lives.
There is a runoff for the 12th District between Rick Allen and Lee Anderson. I'm going with Rick Allen.
5. Michelle Obama Poisons America's Food Supply. Gives Kids Listeria.
Michelle Obama has poisoned the nation's food supply and potentially given listeria to America's children, according to press reports.

Christie's Embrace of Islamo-Fascists
Monday, 13 August 2012 06:32 Robert Spencer
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie held an Iftar dinner at the Governor's Mansion in late July. He took the opportunity to declare himself a foursquare tool of jihadists and Islamic supremacists, and even adopted their language in deriding those who have pointed out how he has allowed himself to be compromised by them.
Christie complained about a "gaze of intolerance that's going around our country that is disturbing," and referred dismissively to concerns that he has gotten too close to Islamic supremacists: "These are the kind of red herrings that people put up who are bigots, who want to judge people based upon their religious beliefs, want to judge people with a broad brush."
Attending the dinner was the prominent New Jersey Imam Mohammad Qatanani, and Christie was glad to see him, telling him before the audience: "I'm glad to have you here." Qatanani, he said, was his "friend," and someone who has "attempted to be a force for good in his community."

Fast and Furious Bombshell Explodes
According to a high-ranking Mexican drug cartel operative, who is currently in U.S. custody, there are some things that the American people are not being told about Fast and Furious. We obviously knew something was not being told behind the scenes because of Barack Obama issuing executive privilege and Holder being in contempt of Congress for failing to comply. But this makes even the sleepiest of people perk up their ears and pay attention.
Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla, known as the Sinaloa Cartel's "logistics coordinator," has brought allegations that the gunwalking operation had nothing to do with tracking guns and everything to do with supplying them. According to Zambada-Niebla it was part of an elaborate agreement between the U.S. and Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel to take down rival cartels.

Tears Don't Protect Against Murder
After serving a few years in prison for his role in the Munich Massacre, Willi Pohl moved to Beirut. The brief sentence was a slap in the wrist, but Pohl had still served more time in prison than the Muslim gunmen who had murdered eleven Israeli athletes and coaches during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Mohammed Safady and the Al-Gashey cousins were released after a few months by the German authorities. They went back to Lebanon and so did he. A decade after the attack, Willi Pohl had begun making a name for himself as a crime novelist. His first novel, written as Willi Woss, was Tränen Schützen Nicht vor Mord or Tears Do Not Protect Against Murder. While Pohl was penning crime novels, Israeli operatives had already absorbed the lessons of his first title. Tears, whether in 1939 or 1972, had not done anything to prevent the murder of Jews. Bullets were another matter. The head of Black September in Rome was the first to die, followed by a string of PLO leaders across Europe. Those attacks were followed by raids on the mansions and apartments of top Fatah officials in the same city where Pohl had found temporary refuge. By the time his first book was published, hundreds of PLO terrorists and many of its top officials were dead. Western law enforcement had failed to hold responsible even the actual perpetrators of the Munich Massacre, never mind the representatives of the PLO who openly mingled with red radicals in Europe's capitals. Israeli operatives did what the German judicial system had failed to do, putting down Safady and one of the Al-Gasheys, while the other one hid out as a frightened guest of Colonel Gaddafi in Libya. The Israeli raid on the PLO terrorists in Beirut's Muslim Quarter missed one important target. Arafat. And so, on another September day, some 19 years later, September 13, 1993, Israeli Prime Minister Rabin shook hands with Arafat and proclaimed, "Enough of blood and tears! Enough!" But the blood and tears had only begun, as a PLO on its last legs was revived by that handshake and built its terrorist infrastructure inside Israel's borders. By 1993, the year of the infamous Rose Garden handshake, 45 Israelis had been killed and 34 injured in Muslim terrorist attacks. A year after the handshake, the toll stood at 109 Israelis dead and 456 wounded. By 2002, the year that Israel's patience finally broke and Sharon sent forces storming into Arafat's compound, the numbers for that year were a horrifying 451 dead and 2,348 wounded.

"I'll be there [to vote Republican] or I'll be dead," and other downward arrows for Obama
Aug 13, 2012 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
Almost every day we are insulted by polls that over sample Democrats to create the false impression that Barack Obama is either winning or the race is "too close to call." These use ridiculous over sampling of Democrats, but they can't change the facts.
While the media does an excellent job of covering up the Democrats gapping and growing enthusiasm gap careful research and cross referencing can bring out the truth. Each of these factors spells trouble for Barack Obama.
With less than three months to go compared to 2008 conservative Republican enthusiasm is 16 points higher and liberal Democrat enthusiasm is 22 points lower.
While this gap is serious on its face, it becomes still worse for the Democrats when juxtaposed with other recent elections with notable enthusiasm gaps.
Gallup had Republicans 19 points more enthusiastic to vote than Democrats in 2010. In 1994 Republicans had ... Continue Reading:"I'll be there [to vote Republican] or I'll be dead," and other downward arrows for Obama

Tea Party, NRA throw 5 RINOS out of Tennessee Legislature
Aug 12, 2012 01:00 pm | Coach Collins
by Doug Book, staff writer
On August 2nd, 5 GOP candidates seeking re-election to the Tennessee State legislature discovered just how dangerous it can be to disdain the wishes of those conservatives who helped put them in office.
In 2010, members of various Tea Party groups in Tennessee donated the necessary time and money to put Republicans in charge of both the legislature and the governor's mansion for the first time in 150 years. But after 2 years, not one of the top 10, Tea Party priorities placed before the Republican-controlled legislature had been implemented. Those priorities were based upon "...re-asserting state sovereignty over unconstitutional Federal abuses," writes Tea Party steering committee member Van Irion. Yet rather than assist the Tea Party groups which had both drafted legislation and lobbied members of both legislative houses, "...the Tennessee Republican Party treated the Tea Party with contempt." In 2012, Tea Party officials decided the only way to gain ... Continue Reading:Tea Party, NRA throw 5 RINOS out of Tennessee Legislature

EDITORIAL: The Civil War of 2016U.S. military officers are told to plan to fight Americans
The Washington Times
Tuesday, August 7, 2012
Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion. This farcical vision is now part of the discussion in professional military circles.
At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled "Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A 'Vision' of the Future." It was written by retired Army Col. Kevin Benson of the Army's University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and Jennifer Weber, a Civil War expert at the University of Kansas. It posits an "extremist militia motivated by the goals of the 'tea party' movement" seizing control of Darlington, S.C., in 2016, "occupying City Hall, disbanding the city council and placing the mayor under house arrest." The rebels set up checkpoints on Interstate 95 and Interstate 20 looking for illegal aliens. It's a cartoonish and needlessly provocative scenario.

Romney Says Obama 'Robbed Medicare' for Health Overhaul Cost
President Barack Obama "robbed" Medicare to pay for the healthcare legislation he pushed through Congress in 2010, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said in an interview broadcast Sunday night. Romney made the claim when asked on the CBS program "60 Minutes" about the political risk of picking Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin as his running mate. Ryan, the chairman of the House Budget Committee, has led efforts to revamp Medicare, the government health-insurance program for the elderly. "There's only one president that I know of in history that robbed Medicare, $716 billion to pay for a new risky program of his own that we call Obamacare," Romney responded.

Palin Will Not Speak at Republican Convention
August 12, 2012
Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will not speak at the U.S. Republican nominating convention in Tampa later this month, she said in statement on Sunday.
"This year is a good opportunity for other voices to speak at the convention and I'm excited to hear them," Palin, who was Senator John McCain's running mate in the 2008 election, said in a statement on Gretawire, the blog of Fox News's Greta Van Susteren.
"Everything I said at the 2008 convention about then-candidate [Barack] Obama still stands today, and in fact the predictions made about the very unqualified and inexperienced community organizer's plans to 'fundamentally transform' our country are unfortunately coming true," Palin said.
She said she supports Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running mate, Congressman Paul Ryan, and intends to focus on grassroots efforts to rally independents and the Republican base to elect Senate and House members "so a wise Congress is ready to work with our new president to get our country back on the right path."

Facing the Medicare Debate Head-On
Quick quiz: Who said this about Medicare? "With an aging population and rising health care costs, we are spending too fast to sustain the program. And if we don't gradually reform the system while protecting current beneficiaries, it won't be there when future retirees need it. We have to reform Medicare to strengthen it." It wasn't Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI), Mitt Romney's new running mate, who has been vocal about the need for Medicare reform. It was President Barack Obama, just last year. As the debate reignites over the government's health care plan for seniors, which has a long-term unfunded liability of nearly $37 trillion, two things are important to remember: 1. Obamacare has already "ended Medicare as we know it." 2. There is bipartisan consensus for moving Medicare toward a premium support model, meaning that the government would make a fixed contribution toward each enrollee's plan, but the enrollee would have the freedom to choose which health care plan he or she wants. Medicare has been unsustainable for some time. The continued "plan" to deal with the entitlement's runaway growth has been to cut payments to health care providers-but because that would harm patients by reducing the number of doctors available, Congress keeps putting it off. As Heritage expert Bob Moffit explains:
Physicians, under current law, also face Medicare payment cuts that are so draconian-31 percent in 2013-that Congress once again will likely stop them from going into effect. Yet the prospects remain profoundly unfavorable for physicians. More seniors plus fewer providers does not-and cannot-equal "guaranteed" benefits.
The President and other supporters have claimed that Obamacare would help protect seniors. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the Congressional Budget Office just updated its estimate of the amount Obamacare steals from Medicare to fund itself-a whopping $716 billion between 2013 and 2022. As Heritage's Alyene Senger wrote, "With a raid on Medicare of this magnitude, President Obama's assertion that his new law is protecting seniors and Medicare is astonishing. The truth is that Obamacare does the opposite." If anyone starts talking about "ending Medicare as we know it," you can easily tell him that Obamacare already did that. In addition to robbing Medicare of its funding, Obamacare contains more than 160 provisions affecting Medicare. The good news is that there are several strong plans for Medicare reform that could salvage the program for the next generation of retirees. The Heritage Foundation has developed a Medicare premium support plan as part of its comprehensive budget reform, Saving the American Dream. With premium support, the government makes a fixed payment to a health plan chosen by an enrollee. If an enrollee wants to purchase a plan that is more expensive than the government payment, the enrollee may do so, paying the additional cost. If an enrollee wants to buy a less expensive plan, the enrollee may also do so, and keep the savings. Under this model, health plans would compete directly with each other. Their ability to retain or expand their enrollment would depend solely on their ability to provide the best package of benefits and the highest quality of care at the most competitive price. The American Enterprise Institute, the Cato Institute, the National Center for Policy Analysis, and the Progressive Policy Institute have all endorsed this general approach to comprehensive Medicare reform. Some Members of Congress also have been forging a powerful consensus on reforming Medicare. Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Tom Coburn (R-OK), and Representative Paul Ryan and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) have put forth plans that would improve on the experience of defined-contribution ("premium support") financing that today characterizes the competitive private plan program in Medicare Part C and the Medicare drug program in Medicare Part D. Without reform, Medicare is headed toward a crash landing, leaving America's seniors in the lurch. Heritage's Moffit asserts:
Medicare premium support, long a bipartisan proposal, is the best alternative to this unhappy scenario. It would improve the environment for medical practice, guarantee retirees better choices and broader access to quality care, encourage faster innovation in care delivery, and discourage waste and fraud in medical transactions. It would also deliver superior cost control. For the next generation of taxpayers and retirees alike, there is no better future.
LEARN MORE: Fact Sheet: Obamacare Ends Medicare As We Know It To learn more about premium support financing for Medicare, see Premium Support: Medicare's Future and Its Critics. For a side-by-side comparison of The Heritage Foundation's plan with the Ryan-Wyden plan, Burr-Coburn, and others, see Saving the American Dream: Comparing Medicare Reform Plans. Utah Takes First Step to Take Back Education By Lindsey Burke
When the fight for control over what is taught in American schools is won, Utah will be remembered for having fired the shot heard 'round the country's classrooms and statehouses. In a move that should inspire other state leaders concerned with the Obama Administration's push to nationalize standards and tests through the Common Core State Standards Initiative, the Utah State Board of Education voted 12-3 to withdraw from the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC), the national testing consortium the state joined as part of the its agreement to adopt national standards. While Utah still plans to implement the standards in the coming academic year, it will now choose from among various testing companies to measure the academic achievement of students, divesting the state from the federally funded testing consortium. As Washington's overreach creeps further into the nation's classrooms, Utah has wisely taken a step away from further federal intervention into its schools. After the Berlin Wall fell in the late 1980s, central planning was all but discredited throughout the world. The exception, Representative Rob Bishop (R-UT) notes, was in Washington, D.C., "where every bureaucracy has, since that time, doubled down to insist that central planning be done out of Washington with one-size-fits-all solutions." Indeed, the central planning mentality continues apace with the push for national standards and tests.

Department of Ed Knows Best: Washington's Idea of Flexibility in Education By Teresa Shumay Don't worry. The Department of Education says we can trust that the Obama Administration's No Child Left Behind (NCLB) waiver plan is the best solution for improving public schools. In a letter to the editor in The Washington Post on July 25, Education Secretary Arne Duncan asserted that the waiver system has clear goals to "protect children, set a high bar and provide as much flexibility as possible." But far from providing "flexibility," the Administration's conditions-based waivers merely trade one federal overreach for another. Waivers may give states temporary relief from the onerous provisions of NCLB but only in return for adopting the Obama Administration's preferred policies.

How Obama and the Democrats Wasted Your Children's Money
Posted: 13 Aug 2012 11:56 AM PDT
(John Hinderaker)
With interest, the cost of the Obama administration's failed "stimulus" program is now well over $1 trillion. The stimulus bill failed in its stated objectives, and no wonder: inefficient government spending destroys wealth, it doesn't create wealth. Check out this excellent video by the Center for Freedom and Prosperity. As you listen to the examples of wasteful "stimulus" spending, ask yourself: how could such foolish projects possibly promote economic growth? Worse, when resources are wasted by the government, they are not available for effective use by the private sector:
Note, too, how much Obama administration spending has been not just wasteful, but corrupt. When any government sets out to run an economy, it inevitably does so for the benefit of its allies.

Veep Choice Doesn't Move the Polls
Posted: 13 Aug 2012 09:52 AM PDT
(John Hinderaker)
No surprise there: as we have often said, vice-presidential candidates generally have little impact on voter preferences. Thus, the Gallup Poll currently has Obama and Romney tied at 46%/46%, while in Rasmussen's likely voter survey, with two-thirds of the polling conducted after Romney's announcement of Paul Ryan as his running mate, Romney continues to lead Obama 47%/44%. So Ryan's selection has had no measurable positive or negative impact so far.
Again, that isn't surprising. What cannot yet be measured, of course, is the impact of Ryan's performance over the rest of the campaign, or the perception that voters will have of Ryan after they learn more about him. For what it is worth, I expect Ryan's performance to be very strong, and I expect that he will make a positive impression on a large majority of thoughtful voters. I also don't expect, however, that positive impression to have much impact on the race.

Barack Obama on Paul Ryan
Posted: 13 Aug 2012 08:15 AM PDT
(Paul Mirengoff)
At a fund raising event in Chicago yesterday, President Obama said of Paul Ryan: "I know him. I welcome him into the race. He's a decent man, a family man, an articulate spokesman for Governor Romney's vision. . .a vision I fundamentally disagree with." Sounding the same theme with less elegance, David Axelrod added on CNN that Ryan "is quite extreme - good, good person, you know, genial person - but his views are quite harsh."
Can we read anything into these statements other than the obvious - that Obama and his crew are trying to sound generous while playing up the theme that this election is a choice between competing visions, not a referendum on the economy?
Perhaps not. But the nature of Obama's praise of Ryan suggests that he senses in Ryan some basic, personal appeal that can't be denied, and therefore should be stipulated to. It's what a trial lawyer might do when he knows the jury will like a witness whose testimony he will have to ask it to reject.
Team Obama's sense of Paul Ryan is consistent not only with my impression of the man, but also with buzz I've heard that Ryan appeals to women voters - which, I assume, means mostly married white women voters. Just as with a jury, these are important folks to have on your side in an election.
We know that with the Ryan pick, Romney targets the states of Wisconsin and Iowa, where Ryan will be today. But what kinds of voters does Romney target? Certainly white blue collar voters throughout the midwest and in Pennsylvania. But perhaps also their wives, as well as other suburban women.
Obama is well-advised to tell these voters, in effect, I know you're going to like this guy and it's understandable that you will - I kind of like him to. But keep your eye on the ball - he and Mitt Romney have bad things in store for you.

Posted: 13 Aug 2012 07:40 AM PDT
(Paul Mirengoff)
Some leftist pundits have described Mitt Romney's selection of Paul Ryan as a panic or desperation pick. This gets the pick precisely wrong, in my view. By selecting Ryan, Romney demonstrates a confidence in the conservative course he first charted, or was forced into, during the primary season. The response to Team Obama's attacks on that course is "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead."
To be sure, the Ryan pick shows that Romney was unwilling to run a passive campaign cast solely as a referendum on the economy. It also shows that he perceived a need to liven things up and to solidify the base.
But if Romney had panicked in the face of minor polling reversals driven, presumably, by Obama's attack ads, he would not opened himself up further to the most threatening of Obama's lines of attack - that Romney will address our fiscal difficulties not by making the rich pay their "fair share," but rather by slashing popular programs like Medicare. The Ryan pick tells Team Obama, in effect, to bring it on. It is a fearless pick, not a panic pick.
A Romney in full panic mode would have selected a running mate with whom he could tack away from his present course - a Condi Rice or, to a lesser extent, a Chris Christie. A Romney in semi-panic mode would have tried to shake things up with a running mate who could create buzz and stir the base, without reinforcing Team Obama's claims that Romney is dead-set on ending Medicare as we know it. Rubio and Jindal might have served that purpose.
Instead Romney threw down the gauntlet. Wise or not, this wasn't panic.

A good line from Romney's stump speech
Posted: 12 Aug 2012 10:02 PM PDT
(Paul Mirengoff)
I watched a replay of the Wisconsin Romney-Ryan rally on C-SPAN. It was an impressive event, and Romney continues to show unexpected ability on the stump.
He had a good line in response to President Obama's "you didn't build that" riff:
When the kid comes home and says 'I made the honor roll,' and we know how hard they worked, we celebrate that child's achievement. We say 'way to go, you made that happen.'
Now, I know that for them to make the honor role he or she had to ride a bus to get to school, and there was a bus driver. But if the kid [makes] the honor role, he or she gets the credit, not the bus driver.

Monday, August 13, 2012 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 85 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS Click here to listen now. Ryan Electrifies Conservative Base Governor Mitt Romney's selection of Rep. Paul Ryan to be his running mate has clearly electrified the GOP's conservative base. According to reports, 10,000 people turned out to greet the Romney/Ryan team in Waukesha, Wisconsin, last night. There were huge crowds in North Carolina too. Paul Ryan has added enthusiasm and energy to the ticket. Conservatives are excited about this young, dynamic leader, who is also serious about his Catholic faith. We will learn more about Ryan in the days and weeks ahead, but here are a few key points about his biography:
- Born in 1970, his father died unexpectedly when Ryan was just 16. That experience, Ryan says, forced him to grow up earlier than most teenagers.
- He knows what it is like to work hard. In high school, he worked at McDonalds. In college, he worked as a salesman for Oscar Meyer while earning a double major in economics and political science from Miami University in Ohio. And when he first moved to Washington, he waited tables at a popular Capitol Hill restaurant and worked as a fitness trainer.
- In the early 1990s, Ryan worked at Empower America and became a speechwriter for Jack Kemp, whom he considers his political mentor.
- In 1997, Ryan returned home to Janesville, Wisconsin, to work for a construction business founded by his great-grandfather. A year later, he ran for an open House seat and was elected to Congress at the age of 28.
- Ryan is an avid outdoorsman and hunter, has been married for 12 years and has three children.
What Does Ryan Pick Tell Us About Mitt Romney? The selection of Paul Ryan should be reassuring to conservatives who had doubts about Gov. Romney. Ryan is unambiguously pro-life. In fact, the radical pro-abortion group NARAL is whining that Ryan has never cast a "pro-choice vote." Several weeks ago I helped organize a meeting of conservative leaders to discuss how we would interact with the Romney campaign. One of the things we discussed was vice presidential nominees. Paul Ryan was one of our top choices, and we conveyed that to the Romney campaign. It shows that the Romney campaign is disciplined. Reuters reports that Mitt Romney made up his mind on August 1st and met privately with Ryan four days later. Unlike the current administration, which can't keep our national security secrets secret, the Romney campaign kept one of the most burning political questions of the day quiet for well over a week. It gives us a hint about what a Romney Administration will look like. By embracing Paul Ryan, Governor Romney made a bold pick that shows he is serious about addressing our economic crisis and bringing real change to the way Washington works. The Danger The reaction from the Obama campaign is predictable: It will try to portray Ryan as man who wants to balance the budget on the backs of senior citizens, depriving them of Medicare and Social Security benefits. Ryan's response has been that this is a serious country with serious problems, and that the American people are capable of making serious choices. That premise will be tested as Democrats will surely resort to desperate "Mediscare" demagoguery, hoping to keep critical states like Florida in Obama's column on Election Day. What YOU Can Do The most important thing you can do is to start talking with senior citizens you are close to. They will get an avalanche of propaganda in the days ahead. Tell them what no reporter will: The plan put forward by Paul Ryan does not affect anyone 55 years of age and older. There is not one person on Medicare today who would be impacted by his plan. This point cannot be repeated often enough with parents, grandparents, friends at church or at work. The purpose of Paul Ryan's plan is to save Medicare for those currently in the system by reforming it for younger workers. Last year, PolitiFact.com labeled Democrat charges that the Ryan budget would "end Medicare as we know it" as its "Lie of the year." Yet from the AFL-CIO to Obama's latest ad, that lie has already become a central talking point of the Obama campaign and its left-wing allies. Share this report with your friends and family members. Save it where you can easily access it later when you are confronted with false information from the left or by questions from concerned voters. America is at a tipping point. We need the leadership and bold solutions offered by the Romney-Ryan ticket, not four more years of Obama's failed socialist policies. Mitt Romney And The Boy Scouts When the Boy Scouts of America recently reaffirmed their prohibition on homosexuals serving as scout masters, the media immediately wanted to put the presidential contenders on the spot. Not surprisingly, Barack Obama said he opposed the Scouts' position. A spokesperson for Governor Romney said his position had not changed since 1994, when he said that homosexuals should be able to participate in the Scouts. That led to a lot of misleading headlines from the media that Obama and Romney shared the same position and that both opposed the Boy Scouts. The Romney campaign took a lot of flak as a result, and so it issued a statement Friday from Gov. Romney, which I have copied below in its entirety.
"The Boy Scouts of America is one of our country's greatest organizations, helping build strength of character in millions of young Americans. "I believe in protecting the fundamental right of freedom of association, and that private organizations like the Scouts should remain free to organize themselves and set membership rules and requirements as they themselves think are in the best interest of their organization."
That is a critical difference, my friends, that should not be overlooked. Whatever his personal views, Mitt Romney respects the right of the Boy Scouts to set its own policies free from government interference. Unlike Obama, Mitt Romney won't be beholden to radical special interest groups, and unlike Obama he will not use the power of big government to force private organizations to violate their values.

Dump the Liberal Debate Moderators
Drudge lists the moderators for the presidential and vice-presidential debates:
DEBATE MODERATORS ANNOUNCED: PBS Jim Lehrer, first Pres debate, Oct 3 Denver... CNN Candy Crowley, town hall, Oct 16, Hempstead NY... CBS Bob Schieffer, third Pres debate, Oct. 22, Boca Raton... ABC Martha Raddatz, VP debate, Oct 11, Danville KY... FLASHBACK: CROWLEY: Some Think Ryan Pick 'Some Sort of Ticket Death Wish'...
Talk about a death wish. Romney and Ryan should reject this list of pro-Obama moderators. CNN is in a ratings dive. It's ranked around 32. The network shouldn't even be present. FOX is the leading network. I don't see it listed. Crowley should be out since she has made her opinions known. She's not a reporter. She's a shill for Obama. The same goes for Schieffer.
Jim Lehrer works for a company that's subsidized by tax dollars. He needs a liberal to win in order to keep the funding flowing.
The GOP needs to stand against the liberal media that it knows is a Fifth Column for this administration. The three networks are no longer viable or reliable news sources. They are irrelevant.

Should wives across the country fear Mitt Romney? According to a new pro-Obama PAC ad they should. The ad all but blames Mitt Romney for the death of the wife of a steel worker who was laid off by Bain Capital. The only problem is that Romney left Bain seven years before any of this took place - MORE.
