White House: Jerusalem Is Not the Capital of Israel
The Blaze | by Mytheos Holt | Posted on July 30, 2012 at 8:01pm
One of the more loudly trumpeted developments from former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's international trip has been his open embrace of the idea that the city of Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, a statement that marks him as one of the more pro-Israeli candidates in recent history.
So of course, no one should be surprised that the White House has immediately gone on record saying he's wrong, and that they do not believe Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, but that Jerusalem's status should be resolved via "negotiations."
Federal Court: Obama Appointees Interfered With Prosecution in New Black Panther Voter Intimidation Case
The Blaze | by Jason Howerton | Posted on July 30, 2012 at 7:28pm
A federal court in Washington, D.C., ruled last week that a number of President Obama's political appointees within the U.S. Department of Justice did in fact interfere with the prosecution of two New Black Panther party members who were videotaped holding a night stick and intimidating voters outside a Philadelphia voting station back in 2008.
Thus far, both Attorney General Eric Holder and the Justice Department have denied the involvement of political leadership in the case, something that is now being called into question.
The conservative legal watchdog group Judicial Watch previously sued the DOJ in federal court regarding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests pertaining to information surrounding the New Black Panthers case. As a result of the lawsuit, the group was able to obtain a number of withheld documents and are now suing the DOJ for attorney's fees . . . Read More Here
Determined as always to travel the safest, least contentious path to their own re-election, House Speaker John Boehner, Majority leader Eric Cantor and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy have decided that the Party will do NOTHING to defund ObamaCare when current, federal funding legislation expires on September 30th.
Thirty times over the past two years the House has voted to repeal the President's "Affordable" Care Act. Of course, on each occasion Republican leaders were secure in the knowledge that the measure had NO chance of passing the Democrat controlled Senate or collecting the signature of Barack Obama. And this was of supreme importance to these stout-hearted, GOP Representatives as it meant none of the scheduled votes would raise the ire of the Party's most feared and potent foe-the dreaded national media.
A French social scientist, he traveled the United States in 1831, and wrote a two-part work, Democracy in America (1835, 1840), which has been described as: "the most comprehensive and penetrating analysis of the relationship between character and society in America that has ever been written." In it, de Tocqueville wrote: "Upon my arrival in the United States the religious aspect of the country was the first thing that struck my attention; and the longer I stayed there, the more I perceived the great political consequences resulting from this new state of things, to which I was unaccustomed. In France I had almost always seen the spirit of religion and the spirit of freedom marching in opposite directions. But in America I found they were intimately united and that they reigned in common over the same country..." De Tocqueville continued: ... Continue Reading:American Minute July 29
What began as a highly anticipated premier for movie-goers in a Colorado community suddenly turned to tragedy when an unstable man entered the theater and began shooting. Lives were lost, scores were injured, and the nation will relive this episode over and over on news outlets for years to come.
As accusations are made and calls for gun control fill the airwaves, the question arises: "How did immorality, violence, and death corrupt a once Christian-influenced American culture? The answer to that question lies within the Christian community.
In 2011, a twenty-year "State of the Church" study by the Barna Research Group showed a drop in church attendance by 7% to 59%. Weekly Bible reading dropped from 9% to 62%. 29% of Christians volunteered at church compared to 41% in 1991. Founder George Barna warned that American Christians have become complacent.

Bombshell: Obama canceled Bin Laden 'kill' raid three times at Jarrett's urging
(Daily Caller) - At the urging of Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions before finally approving the May 2, 2011 Navy SEAL mission, according to an explosive new book scheduled for release August 21. The Daily Caller has seen a portion of the chapter in which the stunning revelation appears.
In "Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him," Richard Miniter writes that Obama canceled the "kill" mission in January 2011, again in February, and a third time in March. Obama's close adviser Valerie Jarrett persuaded him to hold off each time, according to the book.
Miniter, a two-time New York Times best-selling author, cites an unnamed source with Joint Special Operations Command who had direct knowledge of the operation and its planning.
Announcing the Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on August 1
July 26, 2012
Christian-owned Chick-fil-A has come under assault once again, this time because CEO Dan Cathy recently affirmed his personal view that the Biblical view of marriage should be upheld.
The "Big Gay" machine has ramped up an un-relenting and vicious public attack against Chick-fil-A. Homosexual activists are spewing hate-filled bigotry and intolerance toward the company in unprecedented fashion.
Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day is our way of showing our support for a company whose leaders believe in marriage as that of one man, one woman.
Join millions of others in showing support for Chick-fil-A by visiting your local Chick-fil-A on Wednesday, August 1, 2012. The plan is simple. At least once on August 1, eat a meal at Chick-fil-A and politely let the staff and management know you appreciate the company's Christian value system.
Last night, Glenn focused on the importance of commitment. He was the first to admit, a lot of last night's show was something you had heard before - but it's important to start at the beginning and to make sure you know what you believe before you get put into action. And tonight, Glenn revealed ways for you to really get moving!
Tonight, the focus of the show was "Activate" - and it was all about the election and how you can make sure that one way or another - 2012 is a year for a mandate for or against the progressives. And if you think it doesn't matter just take a look at what is happening right now in Wisconsin. Progressives and unions are doing everything they can to make sure that Walker loses. It's a microcosm to what is happening around the country, and Glenn thought it was so important that he recapped it on tonight's show (in under three minutes!):
Following President Obama's recent comments regarding how he believes successful businesses are created and maintained, the Romney campaign seized on the President's statement when he said "if you've got a business, you didn't build that," and has turned it into an ad campaign. The President, as expected, was compelled to respond.
As you may know, we've had the 2012 Presidential debate schedule available for a few months but just yesterday, the Commission on Presidential Debates released further details including the topics and question format of the three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate.

Just in: Contempt of Congress AG Eric Holder has ordered the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate
Pennsylvania's newly enactedVoter ID law--adding an additional hurdle for the law to overcome if it's to be implemented on election day, Tuesday, November 6.
The timing of the investigation is quite suspect since a Commonwealth Court hearing challenging the law is set to begin in Harrisburg this Wednesday, July 25.
The hearing, expected to last 5-7 days, is open to the public. (We encourage you to attend if possible--details below.)
And what usual suspects do we find standing behind the lawsuit? Why the
American Civil Liberties Union and their allies, of course.
The Voter ID law, which enhances voter integrity by making voter fraud more difficult to conduct, was signed by Gov. Tom Corbett earlier this year. Its passage has obviously frightened the Obama administration and its cohorts.
In other matters: Association member Barb Campbell has forwarded a general request by Gov. Mike Huckabee to make Wednesday, August 1, 'Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day.'
In line with our Black Friday BuyCott (2011) and Whole Foods BuyCott (2009), we'll call this our 'Chick Fil-A BuyCott, 2012.'
In Gov. Huckabee's own words:
"....The goal is simple: Let's affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick Fil-A on Wednesday, August 1....
"This effort is not being launched by the Chick Fil-A company....
Simply affirm [your] appreciation for a company run by Christian principles by showing up on Wednesday, August 1 or by participating online--tweeting your support or sending a message on Facebook."

We'll try to arrange car pools for those who are interested in
attending. Please let us know if you are driving and would like

Many thanks!

SPREAD THE WORD!!!
Show times are not yet available, but we are looking at getting together this Friday, July 27th, to watch the movie in Bucks County! The plan is for us to attend the showing between 7pm and 8pm followed by a meet & greet mingle session at Ruby Tuesday's afterwards (same parking lot as movie theater).
Ana and Anastasia will do a "live" phone bank training so that we can all start making calls from home for Tom Smith.

STOP the Smartmeter NOW
Dear Patriots,
Just to make you aware, Smartmeters are here. After thorough investigation and talking with PECO, they are currently installing Smartmeters in PA. Several people have contacted PECO and told them that we did not want the Smartmeter. Their response is they run the risk of having their electricity turned off.
Just a background on Smartmeters: In 2008, Act 129 was passed and signed into law by Governor Rendell to make Smartmeters mandatory in PA. How will this affect you? You will be required to install a smart meter in your home which will be monitored by your electric company on a minute to minute basis. The video below explains how the smartmeter was started and where they plan to go with this which will be monitored constantly (new utilities will have smart meter chips in them.
Do you want PECO or the Government monitoring your electricity usage? If this is such a great thing, why is it being forced upon us and if not taken, you take the risk of having your power turned off. Once on the grid, the government through PECO will be able to monitor each and control all of your electric utilities. Do you want the department of energy monitoring your usage of electric via PECO and possibly turning off your electric and certain peak hours (as explained in this video).
What you can do: Representative Reese from Westmoreland County has introduced two bills whichare in the Consumer Affairs Committee. ONE BILL WOULD ALLOW FOR OPTING OUT OF GETTING A SMART METER THE OTHER BILL WOULD REQUIRE CONSUMER CONSENT BEFORE INFORMATION FROM THE METER COULD BE SHARED WITH A GOVERNMENT AGENCY. Please contact the people listed in the link and let them know that we want these bills brought to the floor for the vote. This is our local electric company being used for the UN Agenda 21 (Sustainable Development). We need everyone's involvement so pass on to everyone you know. Let's make an effort to get this out of committee.
I have contacted PECO and told them not to install a smartmeter on my house. I would suggest doing the same with your electric company. They need a loud outcry from the american people. I will also be putting this sticker on my meter. I will be editing the wording down below, but here it is.
, begins today Friday July 27. Times are 12:50pm, 3:30pm, 6:40pm, and 9:25pm only in Warrington (and Philly, not shown). Tickets are $11.50 (or $8.50 for seniors), available

Join Us on Fridays and Take a Stand for Israel:
By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their 'civilization jihad' - a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.
Welcome to The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within - a 10-part, web-based video briefing that is designed to explain why and how this is happening.
It addresses a threat most Americans are unaware even exists within our country, let alone the degree of peril it represents. The threat is the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine its adherents call "shariah" and the organized, disciplined and increasingly successful efforts by such adherents-- most especially the Muslim Brotherhood-- to bring it here.
We are making this course available in the hope of encouraging, informing and broadening support for national efforts to defeat the insinuation into this country of shariah's anti-constitutional and seditious program.
Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Overview

"Losing our Sons": Documentary looks at domestic Islamic radicalization and jihadization
Charles Jacobs at Americans for Peace and Tolerance announced today the release of a trailer for their upcoming documentary, "Losing Our Sons", featuring Melvin Bledsoe - father of domestic terrorist Carlos Bledsoe aka Abdulhakim Mohamed who gunned down US Army recruiter Pvt. William Long at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2009. Melvin Bledsoe testified at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing earlier this month.
The upcoming documentary discusses how Bledsoe was radicalized by the Muslim Student Association in Tennessee and sent to terrorist training in Yemen with the written recommendation of the imam of a Nashville mosque. It also discusses how the agents of radicalization in the Nashville Muslim community have been aided by collaborators in the establishment media, politics and the so-called "interfaith" community.
Featuring 113 primary source documents, The U.S. Constitution: A Reader was developed for teaching the core course on the U.S. Constitution at Hillsdale College.
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs.
Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:
For Tea Parties, this can be used as basic ammunition for letters to the editor, columns for your local news outlet, handouts at public events, emailing the pdf to our elected reps as well as to members, friends and neighbors.

By revealing the Nazi and Marxist origins of groups such as the Muslim Students Association and Students for Justice in Palestine and the connections between these organizations and terrorist activities around the globe, Muslim Hate Groups on Campus sheds light on the dark undercurrent of anti-Semitism which flows unobstructed through our most prestigious institutions of higher education.
After Hurricane Katrina, approximately 100,000 rebuilding projects used drywall imported from China--because we couldn't make enough drywall here in the U.S. Unfortunately, the drywall from China caused significant health problems, including nosebleeds, headaches, sinus problems, and respiratory ailments.
How does outsourcing create a national security crisis? Can America rebuild after a disaster or terrorist attack without depending on other nations? Do we have the manufacturing capacity to protect our own critical infrastructure?A new report by the Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) says that revitalizing America's manufacturing capacity should be an urgent domestic priority. Co-authored by former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge and former Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection Robert B. Stephan, the report suggests that our national infrastructure is increasingly vulnerable to disasters such as terrorism, floods, hurricanes, pandemic influenza and cyber disruption.
Why?
It's because we no longer manufacture many key components needed to create everything from bridges and dams to medical supplies and drinking water systems.
From 2000 to 2011, nearly 66,484 U.S. factories closed, and millions of skilled manufacturing workers lost their jobs. We've lost capacity to make drywall, steel, concrete, antibiotics, high-tech circuit boards--the list goes on.
America once led the world in manufacturing. Now, much of our infrastructure needs are dependent on overseas producers. If disaster strikes, will we simply be unprepared?
Our increasing dependence on foreign goods is unwise, unsafe, and unsustainable. We need to fix this--urgently--and we can, by changing the way we think about national security and manufacturing.
Learn how in the new report Preparing for 21st Century Risks: Revitalizing American Manufacturing to Protect, Respond and Recover.
Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center appwill, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.
It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on.
Some friends in Texas are privately worried about Ted Cruz. The polls are very close. David Dewhurst has vastly outspent him. There is a huge turnout happening in random places in Texas - lots of people showing up in the runoff who do not normally vote in runoffs, let alone in Republican primaries.
That could be a sign that people are really fired up for Ted.
That could be a sign that Dewhurst is beating the bushes trying to get Democrats and typically disengaged voters to save him.
The only way to ensure a victory for Ted Cruz today is for you, if you live in Texas, to go vote. If you do not live in Texas, track down any friends you have in Texas and get them to go vote for Ted Cruz.
If Satan's best trick is to make us believe he does not exist, his second best trick is to convince us that one more taste of sin will satiate our desire.
It is the same with the politician and the crackhead.
The crackhead holds the pipe in his hands and thinks, "Just one more hit and then I'll get clean." It is never really enough. He gets his fix. It wears off. And then . . .
"Just one more . . ."
It is the same with politicians and our tax dollars. "Just one more penny is all we need," says the politician. But one more penny is never enough. The devil is always in the details.
It's easy to guffaw at $14 million in waste when we are running a $1.7 trillion deficit, but let's not forget our collective (and appropriate) outrage at NPR funding which by many accounts, receives less than $4 million per year directly from the government.
But $14 million is precisely what will continue to be wasted after the House Agriculture Committee approved the Farm Bill while rejecting an amendment by Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) which would have streamlined catfish inspections (yes, catfish inspections) and save taxpayers millions.
As we noted last week, Fred Upton is not running on his record as a moderate Republican in the August 7 primary against Jack Hoogendyk. He is eschewing decades' worth of big government values so he can hold onto his seat in Congress.
One of the most common stratagems employed by moderate Republicans (and Democrats) in an effort to ingratiate themselves to conservative voters is to tout their support from the NRA. In May, Fred Upton sent out mailers, which were overtly political (with his congressional Frank), that flaunted his credentials as an A rated pro-gun congressman from the NRA. The mailers reveal the vacuous content of Upton's record, as well as the foolish electoral approach pursued by the NRA.

'Tit for Tat'
Obama Admin official describes Bulgarian attack as 'tit for tat' reprisal
In the aftermath of the bombing of a bus carrying Israeli tourists in Bulgaria, the Obama administration included an Iranian-American anti-Israel group in a White House meeting and characterized the terror attack as a "tit-for-tat" reprisal by Iran.
Wednesday, officials from the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC) attended a White House roundtable event for Iranian-American community leaders that featured Valerie Jarrett, one of President Obama's closest advisers.
NIAC bills itself as an Iranian-American community organization, but its work focuses on softening U.S. policy toward Iran. It advocates removing sanctions on Iran and attempted to scuttle Dennis Ross's promotion to an Iran policy role in the White House. A recent membership survey conducted by NIAC received only 500 responses.
The day before the White House meeting, NIAC's president, Trita Parsi, who does not hold American citizenship, published an article in the Daily Beast alleging that Israeli leaders viewed the murder of their civilians in the Bulgaria bombing with satisfaction. "US officials have privately expressed concern that one of the purposes of Israeli attacks in Iran has been to generate an Iranian response that could serve as a casus belli for Israel," Parsi wrote. "That way, Israel could target Iran's nuclear facilities without paying the heavy political cost of starting a preventive war."
While Parsi speculated that the murder of tourists marked the achievement of an Israeli policy goal, a "senior American official" quoted in the New York Times said the attack "was tit for tat"-retaliation for Israel's alleged assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists.
Commentators took issue with the official's characterization of a terror attack on tourists and the assassination of scientists working on an illicit nuclear program as equivalents. Former U.S. ambassador to the UN John Bolton said, "I think Israel is perfectly entitled to respond. It's not just a tit for tat operation. This is self-defense, to dissuade Iran, if it's susceptible of rational calculation, not to do this again. ... The Iranians and Hezbollah have engaged in an act of pure terrorism. They have killed innocent civilians. The Israeli response is a legitimate act of self-defense, and indeed, it's a legitimate act of self- defense if the use of force is well beyond the terrorist attack because they are entitled to stop the attacks at their source."
Atlantic national correspondent Jeffrey Goldberg wrote on Twitter, "Contra assertion by US official, this was not tit-for-tat; bomber didn't target Israeli nuclear scientists, but tourists."

Romney tells the truth about Israel's economic success; Left freaks out
Posted at 9:18 am on July 30, 2012 by Twitchy Staff
"Start-up Nation: The Story of Israel's Economic Miracle" is a 2009 book by Dan Senor and Saul Singer about the economy of Israel.
The Council on Foreign Relations asks in its blurb for the book : "How is it that Israel - a country of 7.1 million people, only sixty years old, surrounded by enemies, in a constant state of war since its founding, with no natural resources-produces more start-up companies than large, peaceful, and stable nations like Japan, China, India, Korea, Canada, and the United Kingdom?"
It's a good question - one that presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney touched on today in comments to Jewish donors in Israel. According to the Associated Press, Romney noted that per capita GDP is much higher in Israel than in nearby areas managed by the Palestinian Authority. This is a factually accurate observation, although Romney's numbers were off. (He overstated per capita GDP in the Palestinan-controlled areas.) Then the fit really hit the shan when Romney attributed Israel's remarkable economic success in part to the country's culture and to "the hand of providence."
Naturally, Palestinian leaders are outraged by Romney's comments, which they deemed "racist":
The jacket cost more than the average American family makes in a month ($4,284). And, she does this as Americans continue to suffer through a deep recession and record unemployment. Michelle feels your pain.
Opposition leaders are particularly enraged after being informed that they shouldn't expect American assistance until after the presidential election. Where is the political courage we so desperately want in our "leaders"?
Senator McCain's claim that concerns about Huma Abedin are a smear based on "a few unspecified and unsubstantiated associations" proves more embarrassing by the day. In fact, to the extent it addressed Ms. Abedin, the letter sent to the State Department's inspector general by five House conservatives actually understated the case.
Islam does not inculcate freedom, happiness and love. Islam strives for the submission of Muslims to Allah and of non-Muslims to Muslims. They do what they can to reach their final solution, and we must do what we can to prevent it from happening.
In light of the number of crazed people who would do us harm, this latest episode demonstrates why responsible, crime-free citizens should have the right to defend themselves and others.
Why is President Obama sending his envoy to attend a meeting hosted by a man who belongs to a virulently anti-Semitic organization? What can we possibly learn from such a hateful point of view?
The Catholic family that owns a Colorado-based company won a court victory in their battle to stop the Obama administration from requiring them to provide insurance coverage for abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization and contraception, a mandate they say violates their religious beliefs and 1st Amendment rights.
The evil is our inability to find answers to what is good and evil, to how far each person is responsible for actions, to politicians who cringe because an election is in the offing.
Why is the august professor suddenly acting like a political hack, a kind of low-rent Ivy League Deborah Wasserman-Schultz, flacking for the president at the exact moment the administration is unleashing various forms of "aid to Israel" in a patently obvious attempt to undermine Romney's trip?
George Miller's 1981 post-apocalyptic film "The Road Warrior" envisioned an impoverished world of the future. The movie was remarkably prophetic of today's seemingly post-apocalyptic California.
New York City has been invaded, its buildings blown up and its citizens slaughtered hundreds of times. The invaders come every summer, descending from the sky and under the earth. Sometimes they aliens or gods or monsters. They are, however, never Muslims.
Every summer, for 10 dollars you can see a fantasy version of September 11 reenacted with invading enemies who deserve no mercy and receive none. They come in swarms, buildings fall, people run for cover and then they are beaten back and banished. And then, as summer fades, we pause for that obligatory week in which attention must be paid to commemorating the attacks of September 11 while seeing no connection between the discharges of tension through fictional victories used as an escape mechanism from a war that we dare not fight.
The Dark Knight, the previous Batman film, contained an elaborate analogy to the War on Terror, a shadow version of the real war fought out by men in costumes proving that it was possible to release a big-budget movie supportive of the War on Terror so long as it was dressed up in the right costume.
Since then, and before, New York City has been attacked by meteors, ice ages, mythical skeletons, more costumed criminals, the year 2012, and every possible imaginary scenario that can be dreamed up. It just hasn't been attacked by Muslims because that's something that doesn't happen in movies. Only in real life.
The actual enemy rarely shows up in movies. There have been more movies made attacking the War on Terror than movies showing American soldiers and law enforcement officers fighting terrorists. After ten years of war there have hardly been any movies made about the war in Afghanistan and the most watched movie about the War in Iraq began with an anti-war quote, just so no one made any mistakes about where everyone involved stood. And all of these are a drop in the bucket.
Our cinematic world is a relentless barrage of anxieties; week after week, movie theater screens light up with depictions of civilization collapsing into chaos, overrun by hordes of zombies and monsters, our cities torn down, buildings burning, police and military forces helpless in the face of the enemy. These collective anxieties are packaged up and exported to audiences at home and around the world who sit watching our unacknowledged fears of invasion and collapse play out in movie theaters.
A culture's art, no matter how tawdry it may seem, is also its dreams. They are the stories we tell, and they are full of conscious and unconscious meanings. Legends are created by a culture to battle its unspoken fears. Its great hunters and warriors, whether born of a god, risen from the sea or wearing a cape take a society's terrors and defeat them in a story that is reenacted over and over again to bring courage to the people and remind that all obstacles may be overcome with a strong spirit.
No matter how degenerate a culture may be, its people still need such legends because they still have fears that need calming. The more troubled the time, the more they have need of such legends and the more they may even escape into them to find comfort against the coming of the long night.
Two days from now, employers across America will become vulnerable to crushing government penalties for exercising their religious freedom. This isn't exactly what lawmakers advertised when they pushed Obamacare, but it is part of the Obama Administration's agenda-forcing nearly all employers to pay for abortion-inducing drugs, contraception, and sterilization services.
Beginning August 1, employers must amend their health insurance offerings to include these drugs and services. And if they don't? How about a fine of $100 per employee per day for non-compliance. This outrageous policy makes it impossible for employers to afford the fine-meaning they must change their insurance policies or stop offering health coverage to their workers.
But for many employers, offering the types of services required under the HHS mandate violates their consciences. It conflicts with their deeply held religious beliefs. And the government is telling them that doesn't matter-what's more, it's telling them that their beliefs are inconsequential, and they must pay.

Syria has expanded chemical weapons supply with Iran's help, documents show
The Washington Post | By James Ball | July 27, 2012
Syria has expanded its chemical weapons arsenal in recent years with help from Iran and by using front organizations to buy sophisticated equipment it claimed was for civilian programs, according to documents and interviews.
The buildup has taken place despite attempts by the United States and other Western countries to block the sale of precursor chemicals and so-called dual-use technology to Damascus, according to the documents.
As recently as 2010, documents show that the European Union provided $14.6 million in technical assistance and equipment, some intended for chemical plants, in a deal with the Syrian Ministry of Industry. Diplomats and arms experts have identified the ministry as a front for the country's chemical weapons program.
RJC Releases Two New Ads and Launches "My Buyer's Remorse" Web Site
Washington, D.C. (July 30, 2012) -- Today the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) released two ads, entitled "Bruce" and "Renie", along with the "Michael" ad previewed last week, in conjunction with the launch of the MyBuyersRemorse.com web site.
MyBuyersRemorse.com is the central online platform for the RJC's unprecedented $6.5 million outreach effort to the Jewish community this year.
The web site will showcase a series of ads in which real people tell real stories of why they voted for Barack Obama in 2008, how they became disillusioned with him, and why they won't vote for him in 2012.
In addition, a key feature of the site will be the ability for visitors to upload their own video testimonials and tell their personal stories of Obama buyer's remorse.
RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said, "There is a deep sense of disappointment and unease in the Jewish community over President Obama's responses to our economic crisis, his foreign policy choices, and in particular his policies relating to Israel and the Middle East. Many people, including long-time Democrats, are rethinking their support for Obama in 2008 and we're providing a platform for their voices."
The RJC's $6.5 million outreach campaign will encompass web ads, extensive TV ads, print ads, mail and phone efforts, and a massive grassroots campaign with volunteers on the ground in key communities.
Supporters of the bill cite extensive medical evidence that children put to death by abortion feel the pain of the procedure by at least 20 weeks gestation.
Stanley Kurtz Exposes Obama's War on the Suburbs: Ideological Key to Obama's Past, Present, and Future
by Joel B. Pollak
Stanley Kurtz, who traced Barack Obama's left-wing political origins in Radical-in-Chief (2010), is releasing a new and powerful follow-up this week: Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities. Kurtz demonstrates that Obama's early political goals included redistributing suburban wealth--and that he is working closely with old community organizing allies to implement that program as president.
When Andrew Breitbart launched "The Vetting," his aim was not only to highlight the radical past that the mainstream media had obscured when promoting Barack Obama, but also to show how Obama's early ideas were the key to understanding his policies in office thus far, as well as his plans for a second term. Spreading the Wealth does that--and more, revealing new insights into some of Obama's most notorious Chicago allies.
The story begins with Obama's early mentors in Chicago, including Mike Kruglik (above with Obama), one of the three organizers Obama "compressed" into the "composite" of Marty Kaufman in his first memoir, Dreams from My Father (a deeply anti-suburban book, Kurtz points out). Obama joined Kruglik and other organizers to set up the Gamaliel Foundation, a radical front that turned its attention to the suburbs as a primary target in the 1990s.

I wrote here about the criminal prosecution of John Terry, the English soccer star who was charged with calling an opposing player, Anton Ferdinand, a f______ black c___ during a dustup in a contentious match. Terry was acquitted because the Crown couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Terry racially abused Ferdinand. The English Football Association is now trying to decide whether to punish Terry (who already has been removed as captain of the national team) anyway.
The real problem with the Crown's case, however, was its absurdity. How, in a free society, can someone be prosecuted for calling someone else a name? Ashley Cole, a black defender who has played along side Terry for years with Chelsea and the English national team and certainly would know it if Terry were a racist, summed things up nicely when he testified in court, "We shouldn't be sitting here."
But now, Cole's testimony has led to charges by the Football Association against Rio Ferdinand, Anton's older brother. It seems that Rio was unhappy that Cole testified in favor of Terry. Thus, when someone twitted: "Looks like Ashley Cole's going to be their choc ice. Then again he's always been a sell out. Shame on him," Rio responded "I hear you fella! Choc ice is classic! hahahahahahha!!"
"Choc ice" apparently is a commonly used term of contempt for people who are deemed "black on the outside and white on the inside." The term is another no-no, as far as the PC-addled bureaucrats at the FA are concerned.
Ferdinand later tried to claim that the term isn't racial at all. Rather, supposedly, it means "someone who is being fake." Sure, Rio, and welcome to the world of the speech police.
What does Ashley Cole make of this development? Unlike the Ferdinand brothers and the British Crown, he has no desire to make a mountain out of a molehill. Thus, Cole's lawyer issued the following statement:
Ashley Cole has been made aware of the discussion following comments appearing on Twitter and wishes to make it clear that he and Rio Ferdinand are good friends and Ashley has no intention of making any sort of complaint. Ashley appreciates that tweeting is so quick it often results in off-hand and stray comments.
Ashley Cole is derided in England for serial infidelity to his ex-wife, a popular singer. He has also had a few minor brushes with the law. And unlike Rio Ferdinand and John Terry, Cole apparently has never seriously been considered for the role of captain of England despite having played (usually brilliantly) roughly 100 times for his country.
Yet Cole is a sage in these matters, especially compared to the Football Association and the Crown.
Mitt Romney's visit to Israel has gone well, and should help him recover a bit from the rocky beginning to his voyage abroad. In England, Romney offended the Brits. Even though the offending comments were justified, Romney shouldn't have made them. Britain is a key ally.
In Israel, as Politico reports, Romney offended Palestinian leaders. Again, his comments were on the mark, as I'll discuss in a moment. But this time Romney was hardly offending an ally - recall the cheers of the Palestinian people after 9/11 and the support many expressed for suicide bombings in polls conducted thereafter (even these, Palentinians view al Qaeda more favorably than they view President Obama). Palestinian leaders may not be able to handle the truth, but that shouldn't deter our leaders from expressing it. For too long, they have been deterred, and that includes Republican leaders.
What did Romney say that was so offensive? He told Israelis that their culture is part of what has allowed them to be more economically successful than the Palestinians. He compared this phenomenon to the cultural advantage the U.S. enjoys over Mexico, where Romney's father was born.
Naturally, Palestinian leaders were not happy to hear this. Saeb Erekat, a senior aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, promptly labeled Romney's remarks racist. But it's not racist to understand that not all cultures are equally conducive to economic growth. Rather, such an understanding is the beginning of wisdom, and until the advent of the dictatorship of political correctness, it was recognized as such.
Erekat also blamed the Palestinian economic plight on Israel. It is true, as Politico notes, that Israel controls movement in and out of its country, a necessity given the wave of terrorism inflicted by Palestinians on Israel. But this restriction hurts Palestinians only because Israel is so much more economically dynamic than Gaza and the West Bank to begin with. That's why the Palestinian economy suffers from any travel restrictions.
Romney's cultural analysis also helps explain why the Arab states that surround Israel fare so much worse economically. In fact, by and large, they seem to fare worse than the Palestinians.
Erekat also opined that Romney "lacks knowledge about the Israelis themselves; I have not heard any Israeli official speak about cultural superiority." Israelis may not publicly boast about cultural superiority. But few who have spent time in Israel will believe that Israelis attribute their economic superiority to the oppression of Palestinians or the notion that their neighbors just can't catch a break. Abba Eban's statement that the Arabs "never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity" sums up the prevailing sentiment.
But the most ridiculous take on Romney's remark comes not from a Palestinian, but from Abraham Diskin, a political science professor at the Inter-Disciplinary Center near Tel Aviv. The nutty professor said: "You can understand this remark in several ways; you can say it's anti-Semitic - 'Jews and money.'"
You can say that if you're a self-hating Jew. You can say it if you're auditioning for a spot on Team Obama. But you can't say it with any credibility.
The Middle East desperately needs an American president who doesn't accept the conventional wisdom on the region and who, above all, rejects a narrative that blames Israel for Arab woes. Whether Romney proves to be that president, as opposed to one who talks a good game on the campaign trail, remains to be seen. But Romney has shown in other contexts that he understands the importance of culture. And for now, he is on the right track when it comes to the culture of the Middle East.
In the last 48 hours, I have received emails from representatives of the Democratic Party with the following subject lines: "nightmare," "disaster" and "Romney defeats Obama?" Which is, of course, the nightmare and the disaster. Those headlines give you a pretty good idea of what the Democrats are seeing in their internal polling.
Here is "nightmare," authored by Democratic consultant James Carville:
From: James Carville Subject: nightmare
I wish I had good news for you.
I want to tell you that President Obama has a second term in the bag. I want to tell you that the Koch Brothers are giving up their plot to buy the election.
But here's where things really stand: We're gonna have to go through hell and high-water to win this damn thing. It's gonna be hard. Every big-oil billionaire and Republican Super PAC is throwing the kitchen sink at President Obama.
If we don't fight back, it'll be over long before November.

It strikes me as pathetic that the once-proud Democratic Party, the party, as it likes to tell us, of Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, is reduced to whining about the Koch brothers to raise money from the party's dwindling faithful. Here is "disaster," which comes from Al Gore:

John -
The last thing we want is the Republican Party - a party that's been hijacked by an extremist fringe - to win the White House and tighten its grip on Congress.
That would spell disaster for our economy and our environment.
That's why I'm helping the DCCC raise the $2 million they need to have on hand by tomorrow's midnight fundraising deadline. This deadline is so important that a group of Democrats have agreed to match your contribution 2-to-1, tripling your impact.
24 HOURS TO GO: Donate $3 or more to elect a strong Democratic majority for President Obama >>
One thing I have never figured out is why, if the Republicans represent only an "extremist fringe," there is such a grave danger that they will win a majority of the votes in this year's presidential election. It is interesting, too, that while one of the Democrats' persistent fundraising pitches is that they are competing against rich Republicans, at the same time they encourage donations by pointing out that "a group of Democrats" will match contributions two to one. I don't suppose these matching funds are coming from poor people. Finally, here is "Romney Defeats Obama?" from Obama's deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter:
When you read the news 101 days from now, that might be the headline you see.
Those few words will tell us whether we fought back hard enough against Romney and the Republicans' massive special-interest fundraising machine - or if we didn't do enough, maybe because we got complacent or thought that we had this one in the bag.
Donate $3 or more today - and don't leave this one up to luck, chance, or anything else.
Don't let anyone convince you that this is a sure thing - our opponents have almost unlimited resources at their disposal, and we already know they'll outspend us by a good amount.
What we do now decides the headlines on November 7th.
We're facing a huge fundraising deadline. Please donate now, and have a hand in the outcome of this election:
Thanks,
Stephanie

The Democrats couch their anxiety in terms of fundraising, but that isn't the real problem. The real problem is what they are seeing in the polls: Romney leading in likely voter surveys; Romney more trusted than Obama on the economy and other key issues; enthusiasm higher among Republicans than Democrats; and so on. The extent of the anxiety the Democrats are feeling comes through loud and clear in their email communications.
Newsweek Magazine wants us to think so. Its latest cover blares: "Romney: The Wimp Factor - Is He Just Too Insecure To Be President?"
Along with the rest of the politically hyper-conscious, I've been observing Mitt Romney for years. I've also interviewed him one-on-one and read a comprehensive biography of the man by two Boston Globe writers. There is much to like about the Romney, but he also has some shortcomings. Insecurity, I'm reasonably certain, is not one of them.
Romney has the two qualities that minimize insecurity: immense confidence in his ability and rootedness in faith. President Obama, by the way, also has these qualities, and they more than trump the forces in his life - an unstable family and identity issues - that might have made him insecure. Romney's faith is religious; Obama's is ideological.
But back to Romney. His self-confidence caused him to leave the secure world of business consulting for the unstable world of investing in start-ups and companies that needed to be turned around. After he succeeded wildly in that ultra-risky world, he risked his reputation to attempt to save the 2002 Winter Olympics.
But is Romney comfortable in his own skin? We can never know this for sure about anyone, but Romney sure seems to be. Indeed, he may be comfortable to a fault. His conspicuous consumption - the new fancy new home with the car elevator, etc. - during the campaign tells me that Romney is not the least bit uncomfortable with about his massive wealth; nor should he be. But politically it may have been shrewder to defer this consumption.
I was unhappy when Romney called for the Obama campaign to apologize for suggesting he was a felon. One doesn't ask thugs to apologize and the approach should be the same when it comes to their political equivalent. But this isn't evidence of Romney's insecurity or wimpishness. Romney has a gentleman's upbringing, so he sometimes defaults to speaking as a gentleman would. George H.W. Bush had the same tendency and, in fact, Newsweek suggested in 1987 that he was a wimp.
But you're not wimp if you punch back. Michael Dukakis found that Bush could brawl and Romney, though he had difficulty coping with John McCain, is brawling pretty well this season. He laid the wood on Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum when it counted, and now has Obama spending ad money whining that his anti-business remarks have been taken out of context.
Romney's delivery can be a bit hesitant at times. But he's improved enormously in this respect. He'll never match Obama's teleprompter-aided cadences, but that doesn't mean he's insecure.
Over the weekend, I watched (courtesy of C-SPAN) Romney's 2002 appearance before the National Press Club to discuss the Winter Olympics. Romney's performance was superb. In answering questions, he displayed fluency, commanding knowledge, and even humor.
I don't expect him to produce this sort of performance during the campaign. At the Press Club, he wasn't running for office and thus could revel in the good will of the assembled liberal journalists who were appreciative of his efforts on behalf of the Olympics. And that subject was one over which he had complete command.
These days, Romney realizes that, like any credible Republican presidential candidate, he's always one statement away from a media assault. This reality, and Romney's plausible sense that the election is his to lose, engenders caution. But the caution stems from reasonable calculation, not insecurity.
Candidate Romney will never be as confident as CEO Romney. But if elected president Romney, though remaining a candidate, will resume his place as CEO.
If last week's tweet by Beth Myers is a guide, Tim Pawlenty is on Mitt Romney's short list of possible vice-presidential candidates. As I've often said, I think Pawlenty would be an excellent choice. Mark Kennedy agrees. Mark served three terms in the House of Representatives and has known and worked with Pawlenty for twenty years. Mark is now the Director and Professor of the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University. He wrote this endorsement of Pawlenty for Power Line's readers:
As Mitt Romney makes his final choice for a running mate, a dozen variables could be evaluated. But only one matters: Picking someone who would be a good president. I have known Tim Pawlenty for twenty years, as he and I have served in multiple public roles, and I know he would make a great president.
Here are three reasons why.
1. His Personal Story. As the son of a truck driver and the first member of his family to graduate from college, Tim knows the importance of opportunity because he's lived an American dream. It's people like the Pawlentys in the swing states who will decide this election, and Tim speaks their language. Family, faith, and hard work are not talking points for him; they are in his blood.
2. His Record. Other governors have received more publicity, but who can match Tim's conservative victories, especially in a liberal environment like Minnesota?
* Spending: He took a state budget that had increased by 20 percent per biennium for the last 40 years and forced spending growth down to an average of about 1 percent per year over eight years without raising taxes.
* Cost of Government: Tim held Minnesota state government employment flat and actually decreased AFSCME state employees. He refused to give in to the union for bus drivers' unsustainable demands for benefits, endured a long strike, and saved taxpayers millions.
* Health: He implemented consumer-based health-care reform for state employees and brought down their annual premium increases to well below market rates.
* Education: He overcame teacher union opposition to pass nation-leading education reform to pay teachers for performance, not longevity.
* Family: He enacted bills and appointed judges to protect life, marriage, and the role of faith in our public square.
His hard work paid off. When he left office, the Minnesota unemployment rate was 30 percent less than the national average ("ridiculously low," MSNBC said), proving that cutting government gives the private economy room to grow.
3. His Skills. Tim is persuader. In TV interviews, he is the best spokesperson we've got. He will not only make a strong case on the campaign trail, but he'll be a passionate and effective advocate for conservative ideas within the new Romney administration. He will prove that the Republican Party is not just the party of the country club, but of Sam's Club, too.
And he knows how to win. Tim spent eight years outsmarting the entrenched Minnesota democratic elites. A Minnesotan political commentator recently called him the "Muhammad Ali of budget-cutters." He will be a potent force in the budget and policy battles that immediately follow the election.
As conservatives, we follow Williams Buckley's rule: We want the most conservative ticket that can win. Tim will help Mitt Romney win and, after he does, he will make us proud by helping to turn America back to the principles that have made us great.

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 99 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS
Mitt Romney's supportive statements in Israel over the weekend were a refreshing contrast to the last three years of Obama/Biden/Clinton surliness toward our reliable ally. He strongly defended Israel's right to act against the Ahmadinejad regime, which continues to march toward nuclear weapons that threaten Israel and the U.S. Aware that Obama and the media would like to raise fears that a President Romney would lead us into another war, he counter-punched: "We are the true peacemakers. History teaches with force and clarity that when the world's most despotic regimes secure the world's most destructive weapons, peace often gives way to violence, to oppression, or to devastating war," Romney said. There were echoes of Reagan in that assertion!
Of course President Obama has not bothered to go to Israel during his first (and hopefully last) term. He has devoted his time instead to trips to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey - the Muslim nations to which he wants to get "closer." Bill Kristol's Emergency Committee for Israel, where I serve on the board, has launched a new TV ad pointing out that our world-traveling president can't seem to find time to visit our ally. The ad is very effective - I can tell because Nancy Pelosi and the other usual suspects are all squealing in anger about it! You can watch it here: www.committeeforisrael.com
Finally, in his remarks, Romney stated what the Obama Administration refuses to acknowledge - that Jerusalem is "the capital of Israel." Obama wants to divide that city and deliver half of it into the bloody hands of the Palestinian Authority. If he succeeds in that goal Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and perhaps even Al Qaeda will control and find refuge in the City of David. The jihadists appetite will grow not shrink. It must not be allowed to happen. As Romney said in the close of his speech, "May God bless America, and may He bless and protect the Nation of Israel."
General Valerie Jarrett?
The Daily Caller reports today that a new book set for release on August 21st contains bombshell allegations that could rock the Obama White House and campaign. "Leading from Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisers Who Decide For Him" by Richard Miniter asserts that at the urging of top adviser Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama canceled the operation to take out Osama bin Laden not once, not twice but on three separate occasions. The cancelations reportedly happened in January, February and March of 2011. Finally, on May 2nd, Navy Seals were allowed to take action according to Miniter's book. He cites a source in the Joint Special Operations Command with direct knowledge of the operation.
Valerie Jarrett is known as one of the most trusted advisers to both Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. She is a doctrinaire leftist and has few friends in Washington. If "Leading from Behind" is accurate it means that Obama permitted a Chicago political hack to overrule the advice of top U.S. Military and intelligence officials. On what grounds Valerie Jarrett's views would prevail is a mystery. A four month delay could have resulted in losing Bin Laden. Expect the White House and campaign to vehemently counterattack the Miniter book and its allegations.
Obama has shamelessly exploited the successful raid for political purposes. He famously gave himself credit in the aftermath of the operation, causing outrage in the Navy Seal community. His allies suggested Obama was "bold" and that it was doubtful Mitt Romney would have acted with the same decisiveness. The Miniter book paints a different picture - of a President unable to lead, meekly following his staff.
A Win For Religious Freedom
On Friday, Judge John L. Kane of the U.S District Court for the District of Colorado issued the first legal ruling against Obamacare's contraceptive mandate. Judge Kane granted a temporary injunction protecting Hercules Industries, a Catholic, Colorado-based manufacturer of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units, from having to pay for its employees' birth control.
Judge Kane said that the harm of preventing the government from enforcing Congress-approved regulations "pales in comparison to the possible infringement upon plaintiffs' constitutional and statutory rights."
There will be many court battles ahead on this issue. But this is the first court to question whether Obamacare can be used to restrict religious freedom. Let's hope that when other judges and courts across the country are given the chance to rule on the mandate, they will employ as much common sense and respect for religious freedom and the Constitution.
Leftwing Bigotry? Guilty As Charged
The left's response to Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy's public affirmation of the traditional and biblical definition of marriage has once again exposed the gay rights movement's intolerance for opposing viewpoints, an intolerance that often produces the very bigotry the movement says it exists to combat. Bigotry is defined as a stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own. As I write in my Human Events column today, under such a definition, the "tolerant" left can aptly be called bigots of the first order. You can read my column here.
Back-To-School: Where families shop (and don't)
July 30, 3012
August means Back-To-School spending for families. Christian families appreciate companies that use Biblical principles to direct their business practices. For example, AFA applauds Hobby Lobby and Chick-fil-A for honoring God in all they do.
Unfortunately, some companies use their influence to promote social agendas that undermine family values.
While AFA does not maintain a comprehensive list of companies, and their practices, we want to let you know about three stores your family might specifically choose to avoid.
By clicking on the company name below, you can see our most recent AFA Action Alert on the individual company.
OFFICE DEPOT - Office Depot recently announced it was donating $1 million dollars to recording artist Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation. Office Depot is helping push the homosexual agenda in public schools by encouraging our children to falsely believe people are born "gay."
J.C. PENNEY - Penney's aggressive national campaign to promote "gay" marriage began with the hiring of Ellen DeGeneres as the official company spokesperson. It followed up with full-page ads featuring lesbian and gay couples during Mother's Day and Father's Day promotions.
SEARS - Despite multiple denials by the company, Sears continues to offer hard-core pornography, including sadomasochism, bondage, and X-rated products on its website. On July 27, AFA documented dozens of pornographic products available on Sears' website.
We will continue to be a voice for what is right. AFA unapologetically stands for the Christian values that made our country great. We ask that you continue to pray for us and take the action steps we recommend so that together we continue to make a difference.
I don't have to tell you this is a critical time for our nation. With your generous financial support, American Family Association will continue to defend our faith, our family and our values!
With your donation of just $30, I will send you our most requested resource - Speechless: Silencing the Christians.
Speechless is a 14-episode, 6-DVD set that explores how Christians are being silenced in American culture today and how some are standing Biblically and firmly against "political correctness."
And, we'll also include a two-hour bonus feature hosted by Janet Parshall and the Interactive Discussion Guide.
At a Capitol Hill press conference last Thursday, leaders from the two unions representing ICE agents and Border Patrol agents denounced the Obama Administration's immigration policy.

Academic intelligentsia, their media, government and corporate enthusiasts worship at the altar of diversity. Despite budget squeezes, universities have created diversity positions, such as director of diversity and inclusion, manager of diversity recruitment, associate dean for diversity, vice president of diversity and perhaps minister of diversity. This is all part of a quest to get college campuses, corporate offices and government agencies to "look like America."
For them, part of looking like America means race proportionality. For example, if blacks are 13 percent of the population, they should be 13 percent of college students and professors, corporate managers and government employees. Law professors, courts and social scientists have long held that gross statistical disparities are evidence of a pattern and practice of discrimination. Behind this vision is the stupid notion that but for the fact of discrimination, we'd be distributed proportionately by race across incomes, education, occupations and other outcomes. There's no evidence from anywhere on earth or any time in human history that shows that but for discrimination, there would be proportional representation and an absence of gross statistical disparities, by race, sex, height or any other human characteristic. Nonetheless, much of our thinking, legislation and public policy is based upon proportionality being the norm. Let's run a few gross disparities by you, and you decide whether they represent what the courts call a pattern and practice of discrimination and, if so, what corrective action you would propose.
This column by ACRU General Counsel and Senior Fellow for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published July 25, 2012 on The American Spectator website.
President Obama thinks he is so clever in continuing to try to trick us into believing his disgraceful record on the economy and jobs is really the fault of the Republicans in Congress. You see, 10 months ago in September, 2011, Obama proposed the American Jobs Act. But Congressional Republicans refused to pass most of it. So that means that the continued high unemployment and worst recovery from a recession since the Great Depression must all be their fault.
The Obama American Jobs Act was just a brain-dead half-brother of the original nearly $1 trillion Obama "stimulus." That so-called stimulus will go down in history as not stimulating anything except government spending, deficits and debt. Of course, that won't mean anything to the Keynesians of the future, who just as the Keynesians of today will be practicing not economics but public relations for neo-socialist politicians.
Infrastructure Addicts After the first nearly $1 trillion "stimulus" didn't work, Obama's innovative idea was to do basically the same thing, but only half as large at about $500 billion. Part of this Stimulus II bill would go again to finance the building of so-called infrastructure. As former Obama OMB bureaucrat Jeffrey Liebman wrote in the Wall Street Journal of June 22:
[T]he crash of the housing markets continues to take a toll on construction workers. There are still two million fewer construction workers employed than when the recession started in 2007. Yet Congress has failed to act on the president's plan to put construction workers back on the job rebuilding our roads, bridges and airports.
Obama Promised He Wouldn't Raise Taxes on the Middle Class. He Lied.
This column by ACRU General Counsel and Senior Fellow for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published July 19, 2012 on Forbes.com.
When he was asking for our vote in 2008, then candidate Barack Obama famously promised the American people, "I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes." But as the Supreme Court has now authoritatively ruled, the Obamacare individual mandate, requiring workers to purchase the health insurance the government specifies each family must buy, is a tax. And that tax applies to the middle class and working people.
CBO estimates that health insurance will cost $15,000 per year on average for families soon after Obamacare is fully implemented, rising rapidly from there. That is the individual mandate tax on the middle class and working people.
Of course, Obamacare includes a whole new entitlement program (just what we need) providing health insurance welfare for families making up to $88,000 a year to start, rising to over $100,000 a year after a few years. With that welfare, the net cost to families at different income levels is limited to 2 percent of income for people at 133 percent of poverty up to 9.8 percent of income for people at 400 percent of poverty. But that in itself is still like a new payroll tax, or income tax surcharge.
