2012: America's last free election?

By Wes Vernon

A movie is about to be released that portrays what America will be like in 2016 if Barack Obama is re-elected. Will the presidential race of that year have all the credibility of a Hugo Chavez election in Venezuela? In the event Obama does get a second term, will his likely continued reach for ever-more power in the White House result in a gush of protests? And if so, how would those protests be handled by government? By a double-down on repression?

Where we stand now

America has faced threats to its continued existence many times in the past. We have always pulled through - sometimes imperfectly - but always in a manner by which we could survive.

At stake

Stop Liberals from Jamming UN Treaty through the Senate!

Stop Liberals from Jamming UN Treaty through the Senate!

July 16, 2012

Congratulations!  Because of grassroots activists like you, reports are now indicating that chances are low that liberals in the Senate will have enough votes to pass the Law of the Sea treaty (LOST). This article lists 30 Senators who signed onto Senator Jim DeMint's letter declaring they will oppose the Treaty, and since the article was published Senator Mike Johanns of Nebraska and Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia announced their opposition, and just today Senators Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and Rob Portman of Ohio issued a press release announcing their opposition.

But opponents of U.S. sovereignty are not resting, and we can't either!

Once liberals in the Senate realized LOST was probably dead, they dusted off another Treaty that President Obama signed and sent to the Senate for ratification, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).  We issued this alert on CRPD last week when the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations held a hearing on the Treaty.

Senate liberals are determined to expand UN power through whatever vehicle they can, and they have to act now before liberal Republican Richard Lugar, who consistently votes for UN Treaties, leaves the Senate, and presumably, Republican numbers increase next year.  Shamefully, these liberals are continuing their pattern of exploiting the most vulnerable members of our society to justify their power grabs, this time using persons with disabilities, just as they tried and failed using women through the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

Last week Senator John Kerry, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and a big fan of the United Nations, announced that he will hold a Committee vote on CRPD this Thursday, July 19, 2012, and declared that the Senate will pass the Treaty by July 26th.  This is an unprecedented attempt to jam a binding international treaty through the Senate without proper time for debate or consideration. We must not let it happen!

Take Action!

We need you to call both of your Senators and tell them to vote NO on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities or any other Treaty that comes to the Senate floor this year.

Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121

If you live in a state represented by one of the members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee listed below, please especially urge him or her to vote NO in Thursday's Committee vote.

Activate: How to turn the 2012 election from a close call to a mandate

Last night, Glenn focused on the importance of commitment. He was the first to admit, a lot of last night's show was something you had heard before - but it's important to start at the beginning and to make sure you know what you believe before you get put into action. And tonight, Glenn revealed ways for you to really get moving!

Tonight, the focus of the show was "Activate" - and it was all about the election and how you can make sure that one way or another - 2012 is a year for a mandate for or against the progressives. And if you think it doesn't matter just take a look at what is happening right now in Wisconsin. Progressives and unions are doing everything they can to make sure that Walker loses. It's a microcosm to what is happening around the country, and Glenn thought it was so important that he recapped it on tonight's show (in under three minutes!):

Freedom Works

Tom Smith For Senate Distribution Centers

FreedomWorks PA is in the process of creating regional distribution centers and satellite distribution centers for the Tom Smith For Senate Grassroots Campaign we are running. Currently, we already have developed quite a presence throughout the state, but we are looking for more, much more!!!

A regional distribution center would receive bulk order of materials such as yard signs, door hangers, bumper stickers and any other materials we create for this race. This center would be the main storage for a designated region and the satellite centers would come to get their materials from the main regional center. We will discuss the appropriate amount based on the demand for materials in the various areas. As people request materials from us, we simply refer them to the regional centers so that they may pick up a yard sign or two or whatever else they need. This cuts down on shipping costs and establishes a grassroots community of tea party patriots.

If any of you wish to proceed, please contact Ana Puig, apuig@freedomworks.org, or Anastasia Przybylski, aprzybylski@freedomworks.org.
Thank you!

Printing Shops

In order to supply our distribution centers in PA, we are currently looking for printing shops in our state that are owned by conservatives so that we can give them our business in the next few months when printing all of our materials for the Tom Smith for Senate race.

If you know of anyone who owns a quality printing shop capable of producing large quantities, please email either Ana Puig, apuig@freedomworks.org, or Anastasia Przybylski, aprzybylski@freedomworks.org, as soon as possible. We hope to have this resolved by the end of this week as our deadline to start shipping materials to our distribution centers is coming up soon!

FreedomWorks Grassroots Victory Headquarters

We are currently looking for office space in the Doylestown area that will meet our needs. If anyone is aware of space that resembles what we had back in 2010, please let us know asap. Our goal is to be ready to roll by August 15th!

This will be a central location for activists to make phone calls, pick up yard signs and walking maps, and help us ensure a big win for the Republican ticket in 2012 in our county!

Philadelphia Tea Party Patriots

 Dear Patriots,

I wanted to get out the information about the Romney HQ Grand Opening as soon as possible so you have it. I'll put together a summary of the July 12 meeting when I have more time.

It should be noted that we are not a shill for the moribund Republican establishment. You've got your RINOs, but don't forget you've also got your Mitch Daniels's and Scott Walkers and Steve Kings - true patriots. We should target our anger not at the Party, but at what's wrong with the party. We are working on that.

Bottom line, I think we all agree that the tide of the River Socialism is rising, and we ALL must come to the banks to stack sandbags. When it comes to fighting for liberty and America, come one come all. I think Dan's words last night were good, and spoken in earnest. The Repubs and the Tea Party have a single goal, to stave off this culture of entitlement, to stay out of world government, to knock down the imposition of our Federal govt. The R-party has tools we can use, we will use them and be happy warriors while doing it. I don't feel ashamed of working for Mitt anyway - he seems like a "good guy" (in that the left is clamoring for skeletons in the closet and failing miserably), and who knows, maybe he'll surprise us and bring the country together under liberty.

-Jim

Here's the flier for tomorrow.

Montgomery County Victory Center

Conshohocken Grand Opening Featuring Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey

Saturday July 14th, 2012 at 9:00am

  • The Montgomery County Victory Center is celebrating its grand opening this Saturday, July 14 at 9:00am, and we are very excited to announce that Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey will be joining us to help open our office. This event will kick off our efforts to turn Montgomery County red this November, and to help restore fiscal accountability to Washington. Along with the morning festivities, we will be phone banking and door knocking, to make sure Montgomery County residents know the harm that Obama's economic policies are doing to the country.
  • Our office is located at 200 West Ridge Pike, in Conshohocken, at the corner of Ridge and Butler Pike. We are in the Plymouth Square Shopping Center, in the old Rockaway Bedding store, located between the REI and the Pets Plus.
  • Senator Pat Toomey represented the Lehigh Valley in Congress from 1999-2005, where he earned a name for himself as a strong fiscal conservative who was not afraid to buck his own party on spending. From 2005 until 2009 he served as the head of the Club for Growth, a pro-growth political action committee that promotes lower taxes, limited government, and economic freedom. In 2010 he rode the conservative wave into the US Senate, where he has distinguished himself as a fiscal conservative. Senator Toomey served on the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction in the summer of 2011, and this fall he will become chair of the United States Senate Steering Committee, which focuses on conservative policy direction. He has proposed his own budget when Democrats in the Senate are now almost three years without drafting their own budget.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday to help us take our country back and send Washington a message that their era of reckless spending is over.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Montgomery County Field Director, Perry Bentley, at (717)-686-2219 or at pbentley@pagop.org.

ZOA Fridays

By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their 'civilization jihad' - a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.

Welcome to The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within - a 10-part, web-based video briefing that is designed to explain why and how this is happening.

It addresses a threat most Americans are unaware even exists within our country, let alone the degree of peril it represents.
The threat is the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine its adherents call "shariah" and the organized, disciplined and increasingly successful efforts by such adherents-- most especially the Muslim Brotherhood-- to bring it here.

We are making this course available in the hope of encouraging, informing and broadening support for national efforts to defeat the insinuation into this country of shariah's anti-constitutional and seditious program.

"Losing our Sons": Documentary looks at domestic Islamic radicalization and jihadization

Losing Our SonsCharles Jacobs at Americans for Peace and Tolerance announced today the release of a trailer for their upcoming documentary, "Losing Our Sons", featuring Melvin Bledsoe - father of domestic terrorist Carlos Bledsoe aka Abdulhakim Mohamed who gunned down US Army recruiter Pvt. William Long at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2009. Melvin Bledsoe testified at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing earlier this month.

The upcoming documentary discusses how Bledsoe was radicalized by the Muslim Student Association in Tennessee and sent to terrorist training in Yemen with the written recommendation of the imam of a Nashville mosque. It also discusses how the agents of radicalization in the Nashville Muslim community have been aided by collaborators in the establishment media, politics and the so-called "interfaith" community.

Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs.

Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. The Heritage Foundation The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress

A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress

Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:

  • Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
  • Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
  • Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care

The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

Obama Tells Entrepreneurs "You Didn't Build" Your Business

That sound you hear is silence-as millions of small business owners and entrepreneurs were left speechless this weekend from President Obama's latest insult.

The slap in the face to hard-working Americans conveyed Obama's belief that it takes a village-a heavily subsidized village-to create that venture you're profiting from:

Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business-you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.

Obama pushed his policy goals of infrastructure (aka stimulus) spending and "government research" as part of a collectivist utopia "doing things together." It's simply stunning that he would tell Americans, "If you've got a business-you didn't build that."

After all, could individuals be resourceful and hard-working enough to create whole new enterprises? Obama said:

Look, if you've been successful, you didn't get there on your own. You didn't get there on your own. I'm always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.

It is this view of successful businesses-essentially, "You owe us"-that drives Obama's continued attacks on the country's job creators in the form of tax hikes and regulations.

It's a tough time to be a business owner and entrepreneur in America. Surveys show small business owners are struggling, and they are not expanding or hiring because of tax and regulatory uncertainty. Federal agencies, from Health and Human Services to the Environmental Protection Agency, are regulating them to death. And just last week, President Obama announced his latest economic plan was to hit job creators with a tax increase.

The President's plan to raise taxes on earnings above $200,000 ($250,000 for joint filers) would hit 1.2 million small-business employers who pay their taxes through the individual income tax, known as flow-through businesses. These businesses that are creating jobs earn almost all-91 percent-of the income earned by flow-through employer-businesses.

The new tax increase could be equivalent to one employee per small business. According to calculations by The Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis, the average American with $250,000 or more in income can expect an average $24,888 tax increase next year under Obama's proposed policies. That $24,888 figure is often enough for a salary. So the President could be putting about 1.2 million jobs-perhaps even more-at risk with this tax hike.

Hitting private job creators while advocating more stimulus spending and government jobs. That's the President's plan for the economy.

Meanwhile, businesses large and small suffer from the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world. This has long made the U.S. an uncompetitive place for new investment and has driven new jobs to other, more competitive nations, meaning fewer jobs and lower wages for all Americans.

If the U.S. is to see economic recovery, we must encourage entrepreneurship. Stopping the biggest tax increase in American history, Taxmageddon, would be a good place to start. It's a $494 billion tax hike set to hit on January 1, when a number of tax policies expire and just a few of Obamacare's new taxes kick in. Businesses are already hesitating on hiring decisions because of the impending effects of these taxes.

Democratic leaders are demanding tax hikes, however, and threatening to allow Taxmageddon for the sake of politics-despite warnings that it would send the U.S. back into recession.

Real recovery will take even more than saving job creators from punishing taxes and regulations. It requires leadership that appreciates and values the long hours that America's business builders put in and the personal sacrifices they make for their dreams. It will take leaders who say, "If you've got a business-you built that. And we want more of that in America."

Victory Center" on Facebook

-Gabriel Malor

Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center app will, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.

GOP Facebook

It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on.

RedState Morning Briefing

RedState Morning Briefing

For July 17, 2012

1. Karen Handel Will Be At the RedState Gathering. Will You?

Karen Handel was the second candidate, behind Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, to get a RedState endorsement in 2009 at our first RedState Gathering.

This year, she will join us in Jacksonville. Karen was the Secretary of State of Georgia before running for Governor of that state. She didn't make it in that race, but went on to the Susan G. Komen Foundation where she led the fight to end Komen funding Planned Parenthood.

Karen, who had been attacked in the gubernatorial race as not sufficiently pro-life, was willing to lose her job at Komen over funding Planned Parenthood.

At this year's RedState Gathering, we'll hear from her and honor her hard work. Time is almost out. Go to www.redstategathering.com to register. I hope to see you there. The event will be in Jacksonville, FL on August 2nd through the 5th.

2. Ted Cruz Outraises David Dewhurst. Dewhurst Reponds By Accusing Cruz of Supporting Pedophiles.

I have always had a lot of respect for the guys who are running David Dewhurst's campaign, but I'm starting to see now why Rick Perry had no chance of getting elected President. The same team running Dewhurst's campaign ran Perry's Presidential campaign and has stooped to what I thought would be an impossible low.

Contra the headline at CNN.com, David Dewhurst actually raised less money than Ted Cruz. Dewhurst had to pump over $4 million into his campaign to save face and win the media spin that he outpaced Cruz. In fact, Cruz has raised $1.7 million and Dewhurst raised $1.5 million.

So now Dewhurst's campaign team is accusing Ted Cruz of supporting pedophiles, going so far as to try to tie him to Jerry Sandusky.

Not. Kidding.

3. Taxpayers Fund White House's Race-based Direct Mail

President Barack Obama's delusions of grandeur, his Constitutional misconceptions and his petty racial politics mesh seamlessly in this recently uncovered letter, sent from the White House to an unknown number of recipients for rather dubious reasons.

4. Law of the Sea Treaty Dead

Three conservative cheers for Sens. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) for announcing critical opposition to the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). The LOST is a treaty being pushed by the Obama administration that would bind the U.S. to decisions of a United Nations-sanctioned governing body of the world's oceans. Conservatives worry that U.S. Senate ratification of the Treaty would lead to an attack on American sovereignty.

Thanks to the announced opposition of these two senators, there are now 34 publicly pledged votes against LOST. To pass a treaty in the Senate, the treaty needs a 2/3rds vote or 67 senators if all vote. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) has circulated a letter with 31 senators pledged to vote no on the treaty. Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) has a statement on his website saying that he will also vote no bringing the number to 32. Add in Portman and Ayotte, and then you have 34 votes against the treaty.

Brutal intolerance

Leaders from groups like CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), ISNA (Islamic Society of North America), and their politically correct enablers, are quick to call anyone who dares criticize radical Islam "intolerant."

But if you really want to see brutal, hateful intolerance, at its worst and most horrific, read the story below that the ACT! for America Houston chapter posted recently.

And don't hold your breath waiting for CAIR, ISNA or their enablers to decry this brutality.

Pakistani acid-attack victim finds new life in Houston

Posted by actforamericahouston

By Susan Carroll

She was 16 years old, working as an operator in a tiny, public call office in Pakistan, when a man walked in and saw the silver cross dangling around her neck.

He asked her three times: "Are you a Christian?"
Julie Aftab answered, "Yes, sir," the first two times, and then got frustrated.

"Didn't you hear me?" she asked.
They argued, and the man abruptly left the little office, returning 30 or 40 minutes later with a turquoise bottle.
Aftab tried to block the arc of battery acid, but it melted much of the right side of her face and left her with swirling, bone-deep burns on her chest and arms. She ran for the door, but a second man grabbed her hair, and they poured the acid down her throat, searing her esophagus.

A decade and 31 surgeries later, Aftab is an accounting major at the University of Houston-Clear Lake with a melodic laugh. She spoke no English when she arrived in Houston in February 2004, but is poised to take her citizenship test later this month.
Doctors in Houston have donated their time to painstakingly reconstruct her cheek, nose, upper lip and replace her eyelids. Over time, her scars have faded from hues of deep wine to mocha.

And, with time, the 26-year-old said, she has learned to forgive.
"Those people, they think they did a bad thing to me, but they brought me closer to God," Aftab said. "They helped me fulfill my dreams. I never imagined I could be the person I am today."

Eldest of seven

Aftab was born in Faisalabad, Pakistan, the eldest of seven children in a Christian working-class family.
She dreamed of becoming a doctor, but dropped out of school at age 12 to work in a sewing factory after her father, a bus driver and the family's sole breadwinner, broke his back in an accident. After the sewing factory closed when Aftab was 16, she took a job as a telephone operator helping people place phone calls from the small office in the city's center.

It was June 15, 2002, two weeks into her new job, when the customer spotted her silver cross, a gift from her grandfather. She wore it despite knowing it branded her as Christian, a tiny minority in the Muslim-majority country.
You are living life in the gutter, the Muslim man told her.

She tried to ignore him, remembering what her mother had taught her since she was a child: "You are no one to insult someone's religion. If someone is insulting religion, they have to answer to God."
You are going to hell, the man told her. You are living in darkness.

"I am living in the light," Aftab replied.
So you think Islam is in darkness? the man demanded.

Aftab was frightened.
She knew Christians had been accused of violating Pakistan's strict blasphemy laws in the past when others had twisted their words, to make it sound as though they had attacked Islam.

"No, you said that," she replied. "Not me."
But the man was enraged and returned with the battery acid and his friend. When she finally broke away from them, the acid searing her skin and throat, she ran down the street. As she screamed, teeth fell from her mouth and hit the ground.

A woman heard her screams and threw her head cover on Aftab so she could touch her without getting burned. The woman took Aftab to her home and poured water on her. Others eventually came to help take her to the hospital.
People in the neighborhood detained the two men who assaulted her until police arrived.

Why did you do that? the men were asked.
They said Aftab insulted Islam, that she said Muslims are living in the darkness and are going to hell.

"They all turned against me," she said. "Even the people who took me to the hospital. They told the doctor they were going to set the hospital on fire if they treated me."....
....Slowly, she started to heal. Three months and 17 days after being burned, she spoke again and was able to see through her left eye. She spent almost a year in the hospital.

Aftab quickly learned that in her old neighborhood, she was a pariah. Her mutilated face was plastered on the news, associated with insulting Islam. Her family was persecuted, and their house was burned down.

"They wanted to hang me," she said. "They thought it would be an insult to Islam if I lived."....

The Olympic Spirit and the Islamic Spirit
In a sign of the times, the London Summer Olympics will be defended by anti-aircraft guns and surface-to-air missiles... just as they were in Ancient Greece. G4S, the world's largest security company, was to provide 12,000 security personnel, but has so far only managed to come up with 4,000. In another sign of the times, not all of their security personnel speak English. So instead the British government will be deploying 3,000 troops, all of whom hopefully do speak English.

This isn't the first time that the Olympics have come to London. They came in 1908 when the likely threat was from the Hun. They would have come again in 1944, but war intervened, and London needed its anti-aircraft weapons to protect more vital targets. Instead the games had to be rescheduled to 1948 in a Summer Olympics known as the Austerity Games. Still despite the post-war conditions, the games were described as, "a warm flame of hope for a better understanding in the world which has burned so low."

But if Europeans could hope to relate to other Europeans through sporting matches, that flame seems rather cool when London has to be ringed with anti-aircraft defenses, as in the days of the Blitz. Muslim terrorists showed the world what they thought of the Olympic Spirit in the Summer Olympics of 1972 with the Munich Massacre and ever since then the shadow of Muslim terror has darkened the flames of the torches.

Since then terrorist threats have become an annual event. Russia is already claiming to have foiled Muslim terrorist attacks aimed at the 2014 Olympics. Even China got into the new Olympic spirit, foiling several attacks against the 2008 games. There is a sort of unity in every non-Muslim nation that hosts the games scrambling to deal with Muslim terrorist threats. A shameful silent unity that no one will dare mention out loud.

Terrorism has become the true international sport and newspapers spend almost as much time forecasting the types of terrorist attacks that may be tried, as they do discussing the athletes. Will it be nerve gas this year? A drone attack? Or perhaps an old-fashioned suicide bombing that seems almost quaint now.

In March, there were reports of cyanide hand creams. In May, it was poison drones. In July, it could be anything. Most likely though, there will be no attack at all. And if one comes it will be the usual bomb in a car or bomb in a backpack thing that even the Soldiers of Allah have a 40/60 chance of not screwing up. But that isn't really the point.

Hitler's V2 rockets were not terribly accurate, but they weren't meant to be. They were weapons of terror and those work best when they are random. Sieges are more devastating to morale than actual battles. The fear that an attack could come at any time and in any place drains away courage and replaces it with fear until any demand that the enemy makes is met with relieved acceptance.

Random terror is the weapon of the weak, whether it was the declining forces of Nazi Germany or the viciously stupid armies of diversity plotting to impose Islamic law by killing a few hundred people here or there. The scrum of preparations and the frantic media panics make them feel strong and potent. As much as Islamic terrorists love their inky Korans, they love the sight of their names in the paper even more. Reading that the entire country is terrified of them does wonders for their morale even as it plummets our own.

Are Obama's Bain Attacks Getting Traction?

Posted: 16 Jul 2012 10:22 AM PDT

(John Hinderaker)

Over the next few days, we will no doubt see news stories trumpeting some poll or other purporting to show that President Obama's disgraceful attacks on Mitt Romney's years at Bain Capital have been effective. The problem, of course, is that many polls bounce around in a more or less random manner, so it will be easy to find one or two that look as though Obama is making significant gains. How meaningful they are is another question.

I follow Scott Rasmussen's polling more closely than others, for three reasons: 1) his track record is as good as anyone's; 2) he samples only likely voters, which most other pollsters don't do until the last days of the campaign; and 3) he uses a consistent methodology so that his results don't bounce around meaninglessly in response to the composition of the respondents on a given day.

So I have watched Rasmussen's daily presidential tracking poll with interest since the latest round of attacks began. So far, Rasmussen's numbers don't show that the Bain attacks have had a perceptible impact. As of this morning, Romney leads Obama 46%-44% among likely voters. Here is the history of the head-to-head matchup from January 2012 to the present:

The days since Obama launched his Bain attacks don't look significantly different from those that preceded. Rasmussen explains how consistent his polling has been in recent weeks:

Why immigration reform should take its cue from reality

Posted: 16 Jul 2012 08:41 AM PDT

(Paul Mirengoff)

The Sunday Washington Post featured a thoughtful article about illegal immigration by Roberto Suro. Suro argues that we make a big mistake by viewing illegal immigrants as either (a) candidates for deportation or (b) future citizens.

I agree. We cannot deport our way to a sound immigration policy. In my view, large-scale deportation would be impractical, harmful to the economy, and inhumane. But providing illegal immigrants with a path to citizenship would reward illegal conduct and provide a huge incentive for much more of it.

The National Rifle Association has decided to throw its considerable weight behind Mitt Romney in this year's election. That is no surprise; the gun lobby has always viewed Barack Obama and his administration with suspicion. But the NRA says is it "all in" to defeat Obama; we will see what that translates into as the campaign continues.

The NRA has created this Firearms Future page to host videos on this year's campaign and solicit donations and new members. As you might expect, Fast and Furious is featured prominently. This is the "All In" video:

Hillary Clinton in Egypt

Posted: 16 Jul 2012 07:57 AM PDT

(Paul Mirengoff)

Hillary Clinton's trip to Egypt should provide her with food for thought, assuming she is capable of the independent variety of that activity. On Sunday, protesters hurled tomatoes and shoes at her motorcade. One tomato landed in the face of an Egyptian official. Some of the Egyptian charmers taunted Clinton with chants of "Monica, Monica" as she passed by.

The Egyptian military was next in line to rebuke the Secretary of State. During a meeting with military leaders, Clinton urged them to return the armed forces to a "purely security role." This means letting the elected government, which is thoroughly dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood, run the show. Clinton later stated that the U.S. is doing all it can to support the "democratically elected government."

Payoffs Vs. Layoffs

Posted: 16 Jul 2012 07:34 AM PDT

(John Hinderaker)

That is the Romney campaign's theme for this week, and it is a powerful one-as we have noted many times, the Obama administration has used the stimulus bill, its "green" energy initiatives and other programs to enrich its campaign donors and political allies. The Romney campaign released this ad, "Political Payoffs and Middle Class Layoffs," today:

It means that the EPA's 'endangerment finding' -- its claim that carbon dioxide is a pollutant and threat to human health -- was wrong and should be overturned.
And what of the next IPCC report, due out in 2013 and 2014? The near-final drafts of that report have been circulating for months already. They were written by scientists chosen by politicians rather than on the basis of merit; many of them were reviewing their own work and were free to ignore the questions and comments of people with whom they disagree.  IPCC Admits Its Past Reports Were Junk

American Thinker | By Joseph L. Bast |July 16, 2012

On June 27, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a statement saying it had "complete[d] the process of implementation of a set of recommendations issued in August 2010 by the InterAcademy Council (IAC), the group created by the world's science academies to provide advice to international bodies."

Hidden behind this seemingly routine update on bureaucratic processes is an astonishing and entirely unreported story. The IPCC is the world's most prominent source of alarmist predictions and claims about man-made global warming. Its four reports (a fifth report is scheduled for release in various parts in 2013 and 2014) are cited by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the U.S. and by national academies of science around the world as "proof" that the global warming of the past five or so decades was both man-made and evidence of a mounting crisis.

Bill Clinton signing welfare reform in 1996

"The imperial Presidency has overturned Congress and the law again. Not content to stop at rewriting immigration policy, education policy and energy policy, Thursday, President Obama's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released an official policy directive rewriting the welfare reform law of 1996. The new policy guts the federal work requirements that were the foundation of the Clinton-era reform. ... Welfare reform replaced the old Aid to Families with Dependent Children with a new program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). ... The whole point was that able-bodied adults should be required to work or prepare for work as a condition of receiving welfare aid. This reform was very successful. TANF became the only welfare program (out of more than 70) that promoted greater self-reliance. It moved 2.8 million families off the welfare rolls and into jobs so that they were providing for themselves. Child poverty fell, and single-parent employment rose. Recipients were required to perform at least 20-30 hours per week of work or job preparation activities in exchange for the cash benefit. Now, Obama's HHS is claiming that it can waive those work requirements that are at the heart of the law, and without Congress's consent. When it established TANF, Congress deliberately exempted or shielded nearly all of the TANF program from waiver authority. ... The TANF reform was one small step in the direction of reducing Americans' dependence on government programs and getting them back on their feet. Cutting its work component is likely to unnecessarily swell the ranks of welfare recipients and with no way to pay for it." --Heritage Foundation's Amy Payne

Opinion in Brief

"Congress enacted the first federal minimum wage in 1938. ... The Labor Department reported that as many as 50,000 employees, mostly poor Southern blacks, were thrown out of work within two weeks of the law's taking effect. ... The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour, and a push is underway to raise it yet again. ... Yet no matter how much politicians and activists may battle over minimum-wage laws, the real minimum wage in this country has never budged. It is $0.00. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, that is the hourly wage being earned right now by 12.7 million Americans -- the 8.2 percent of the work force that is currently unemployed. ... Minimum-wage laws are typically thought of as a mandate on employers. In reality they constrain employees. As it stands now, the federal wage law tells workers that unless they can find a company willing to pay them at least $7.25 an hour, they can't get a job. That may not seem like much of a barrier to ... Congress's wealthiest members, but it might as well be the Berlin Wall to an unskilled teen or young adult with no high-school diploma or employment history whose labor is only worth, say, $5.50 an hour. ... With the best intentions in the world, lawmakers cannot raise the value of anyone's labor ... merely by passing a law. ... It may not be easy to survive on $7.25 an hour. But life gets a whole lot harder when your hourly wage is nothing." --columnist Jeff Jacoby

Political Futures

"One of the most annoying things about this election is that people keep asking the candidates what they'll do to create jobs. The problem is that the only way the federal government can create jobs is by hiring more bureaucrats, which is the last thing any sane person wants to see. The job of the president is to create an environment in which entrepreneurs and small businesses can flourish. That means you cut the tax rate and you get rid of stupid, power-grabbing regulators, like the storm troopers at the EPA, and you take the jackboot of the federal government off the necks of those driven to succeed and get wealthy. Prosperity is the greatest engine for job creation and it's the only way that a $16 trillion national debt won't sooner, rather than later, turn us into Greece." --columnist Burt Prelutsky

For the Record

"As far back as the 1920s, a huge cut in the highest income tax rate -- from 73 percent to 24 percent -- led to a huge increase in the amount of tax revenue collected by the federal government. Why? Because investors took their money out of tax shelters, where they were earning very modest rates of return, and put their money into the productive economy, where they could earn higher rates of return, now that those returns were not so heavily taxed. This was the very reason why tax rates were cut in the first place -- to get more revenue for the federal government. ... Yet the invincible lie continues to this day that those who oppose high tax rates on high incomes are doing so because they want to reduce the taxes paid by high income earners, in hopes that their increased prosperity will 'trickle down' to others. ... When [Barack Obama] was a candidate for president back in 2008, Charles Gibson of ABC News confronted him with the fact that there was no automatic correlation between the raising and lowering of tax rates and whether tax revenues moved up or down. Obama admitted that. But he said that he was for raising tax rates on higher income earners anyway, in the name of 'fairness.' ... The point here is that Obama knew then that tax rates and tax revenues do not automatically move in the same direction. In other words, he is lying when he talks as if tax rates and tax revenues move together." --economist Thomas Sowell

Re: The Left

"San Bernardino [California] has an annual budget of $258 million; it is running a budget deficit of $45 million. Where does that money go? To the unions, largely. About three-quarters of the general fund goes to personnel; 78 percent of that 75 percent goes to public safety employees, the most lucratively compensated of all government workers. The city retirement fund amounts to 13 percent of the general fund. ... The statistics are strikingly similar in Stockton. Sixty-eight percent of the general budget each year goes to city retirees and compensation for workers. Their budget deficit was $26 million; the year before, it was $37 million; the year before that, $23 million. Retirement costs constituted some 17.5 percent of the budget. ... Then there's Los Angeles. Los Angeles faces a $238 million shortfall; it faces a grand total of $27 billion in unfunded pension liabilities. How much of the budget do union pensions consume? A full 15.4 percent of city expenditures. ... Noticing a pattern? Deficits as far as the eye can see. Rotten economic situations. And union pensions that take up a substantial chunk of the budget. ... This is what liberalism wreaks on cities. No city has ever gone bankrupt from spending too little cash. ... California is going the way of Stockton and San Bernardino. The only difference is that when the state does go bankrupt, the federal government will undoubtedly try to step in. But what happens when the federal government goes bankrupt for pursuing Californian policies?" --columnist Ben Shapiro

"This war against our Constitution is not being fought way off in Madagascar or in Mandalay. It is being fought here -- in our schools, our colleges, our churches, our women's clubs. The Gipper

"The gun has been called the great equalizer, meaning that a small person with a gun is equal to a large person, but it is a great equalizer in another way, too. It insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed." --Ronald Reagan

Essential Liberty

"Horizontal drilling and fracking have made oil shale and tar sands rich sources of oil and natural gas, so much so that the United States may prove to possess the largest store of fossil fuel reserves in the world -- in theory, with enough gas, oil and coal soon never to need any imported Middle Eastern energy again. 'Peak oil' is suddenly an anachronism. Widespread American use of cheap natural gas will do more to clean the planet than thousands of Solyndras. If the United States utilizes its resources, then its present pathologies -- massive budget and trade deficits, mounting debt, strategic vulnerability -- will start to subside. These new breakthroughs in petroleum engineering are largely American phenomena, reminding us that there is still something exceptional in the American experience that periodically offers the world cutting-edge technologies and protocols. ... Who would have thought that a few fracking innovators in Texas would change the world's carbon footprint far more than did Nobel laureate Al Gore -- while offering a way for the U.S. to be energy-independent." --historian Victor Davis Hanson

Culture

"Capitalism is not inherently sinful, capitalists are -- but so are socialists, progressives, conservatives, libertarians and every other label we apply to human beings. When I hear people complain about the evils of capitalism, it's like they think there's something especially corrupt about capitalistic institutions, as if every other institution -- including government itself -- isn't prone to the same basic shortcomings. If you don't think socialists or bureaucrats are just as likely to rig the rules to their benefit, you're quite simply ignorant of a lot of history -- and current events. You can never eliminate the temptations of sin. But you can create accountability for sinning. That's one reason why our system of liberal democratic capitalism is superior to other systems: It creates more opportunities to hold wrongdoers -- and fools -- accountable. Or at least it's supposed to. ... The key to all of this is the rule of law and the minimization of what Edmund Burke called 'arbitrary power.' When institutions -- any institutions -- become immunized against the legitimate forces of accountability, it should be seen as a scandal. The more inured we grow to such stories, the more we come to accept that acceptable behavior is simply whatever we can get away with." --columnist Jonah Goldberg

"Kudos, Alexander, for the clear case made in Retreat is NOT an Option! I hope grassroots Patriots will take a moment and carefully read and digest your perspective on the CJ Roberts decision. Roberts has given us a wake-up call. He has essentially told us to get off the couch, get involved, and take personal responsibility for the government we elect. It's not his fault that we have the Congress we have. It's our fault. If we lack the fight to defeat Obama this November, then it really wouldn't matter what he decreed about ObamaCare. This November is our chance for a second 'Boston Tea Party.' Imagine the message that would be sent to the world if we elect a Congress and a president that start turning this Ship-of-State back onto a course toward Liberty." --Mike from Maryland

"As a Bible-believing pastor I am dismayed at the arrogance of Phoenix minister Michael Salman's in-your-face disobedience to civil law. Scriptures are clear that good government is one of the three divine institutions God set up. While there are no perfect governments, believers are to pray for and obey the laws, even the ones they don't like. If Mr. Salman wants to have a church as well as a burger business let him get a building suitable for it. I applaud his desire to serve the Lord! However, I think his testimony is harming the cause of Christ." --Richard in Virginia

The Last Word

"Most Americans don't care about whether Attorney General Eric Holder is hiding Fast and Furious documents because they don't understand the story. ... [T]he problem with Republican rectitude in discussing this scandal is that as soon as they start talking about subpoenas and dates and documents, TV channels change across America. They're never going to get answers unless they first explain to the American people why it matters. ... The notion that most guns used by Mexican drug gangs came from the U.S. was a lie -- exposed on about 1 million gun blogs and on Fox News. So, then the Obama administration did exactly what Democrats had been falsely accusing American gun sellers of doing: They put American guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels. The only explanation for Fast and Furious is that it was a program to prop up a losing gun control argument. ... Republicans refuse to state this clearly because they can't prove it. Instead, they just keep chattering about the documents that haven't been turned over and subpoenas that haven't been answered. ... This isn't just another government program gone bad -- a $300 ashtray, stimulus money fraud, Solyndra or Van Jones. ... It would be as if the Bush administration had implemented a covert operation to dump a dangerous abortifacient in Planned Parenthood clinics, resulting in hundreds of women dying -- just to give pro-lifers an argument about how dangerous abortion clinics are. That's what Fast and Furious is about." --columnist Ann Coulter

The Real Hostage Takers: Democrats Threaten Taxmageddon for All Unless Rich Pay More

by Joel B. Pollak

A year ago, President Barack Obama called Republicans "hostage takers" for staying true to their mandate and refusing to agree to tax hikes as part of the debt ceiling deal. Now, the Washington Post reports that Democrats are explicitly threatening to allow "nearly $600 billion worth of tax hikes and spending cuts"--otherwise known as "Taxmageddon"--in January unless Republicans agree to raise taxes on the highest earners. It's the clearest sign of which party is, in fact, the most extreme--and the most willing to put party ahead of country.

"Taxmageddon" marks the expiration date of the Bush tax cuts, as well as the end of the payroll tax holiday. It is so dramatic that it risks plunging the economy definitively back into deep recession. Democrats, including the president, have campaigned against the Bush tax cuts for more than a decade, but have never had the political will--not even with full control of both houses of Congress and the White House--to repeal them. They settled for letting the tax cuts expire for "the rich" alone, but could not agree on the definition of "rich," with President Obama targeting households earning more than $250,000, and Senate Democrats pushing for $1 million.

Constructive secession: a frightening possibility unless King Barack I is stopped

Jul 16, 2012 06:13 am | Coach Collins

 By Derrick Hollenbeck, staff writer

If we can't find a way stop Barack Obama's shredding of our Constitution by his arrogant use of Executive Orders we are certainly headed for a Constitutional crisis not seen since the Civil War.

Obama's continued assaults on the rule of law to win support and reelection from those with no stake in our country are now coming at a dangerous pace.  His narcissistic "L'État, c'est moi" ("I am the state") delusion  must be stopped or at some point a state governor will refuse to comply with one of his Executive Orders -even one backed up by the Supreme Court. This could bring about a de facto, or constructive secession by states attempting to uphold our Constitution.

 Constructive Secession

Borrowing from civil divorce law, constructive secession could occur when a state refuses to fulfill its obligations of compliance within the compact it has with the federal government. Barack ... Continue Reading:Constructive secession: a frightening possibility unless King Barack I is stopped

September 11, 1777, the Chaplain of Congress, Patrick Allison, brought to the attention of the Continental Congress that Revolutionary War had interrupted trade with the King's authorized printers in England, thereby causing a shortage of the King James Authorized Version of the Bible, commonly used in education.

On September 11, 1777, a Committee of the Continental Congress, composed of John Adams, Daniel Roberdeau and Jonathan Bayard Smith, recommended:

"The use of the Bible is so universal and its importance so great that your committee refers the above to the consideration of Congress...

The Committee recommends that Congress will order the Committee of Commerce to import 20,000 Bibles from Holland, Scotland, or elsewhere, into the different parts of the States of the Union.

Whereupon it was resolved accordingly to direct said Committee of Commerce to import 20,000 copies of the Bible."

Comic relief at the White House: Obama regrets his magnificence has not been appreciated

Jul 15, 2012 01:00 pm | Coach Collins

by Doug Book,  staff writer

During an interview with longtime ally, CBS News' anchor Charlie Rose, Barack Obama (and Michelle) lamented having failed to adequately relate the true extent of the President's genius to the American public.  "The nature of this office is ... to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism," not just "to [think] about getting the policy right" said Obama to the reliably sympathetic Rose. In Obama's mind, this means that though he has worked to add trillions to the debt, keep unemployment high and destroy any chance of economic recovery, if only he had done a better job packaging and presenting these willful disasters as triumphs, his campaign wouldn't be in trouble and the American people would properly appreciate his tireless efforts on their behalf. (1)

Of course Obama and the rest of the far left believe most Americans simply can't grasp ... Continue Reading:Comic relief at the White House: Obama regrets his magnificence has not been appreciated

According to the New York Times, Mitt Romney has made a decision on his vice presidential running mate. An announcement could be made this week. The Romney campaign disputes this report, insisting that no decision has been made.

In an interview with Fox News Friday, Governor Romney stood by his pledge to choose a pro-life running mate. That would seemingly preclude Condoleezza Rice, who has also emphatically stated that she is not interested in the job.

Our staff spent hours analyzing the tremendous reaction to Friday's question about Rice. While many readers admire Rice's accomplishments, CWF supporters overwhelmingly felt that Governor Romney would be better served by picking a more clearly pro-life, pro-family conservative. Rep. Allen West and Rick Santorum were frequently mentioned, but the runaway favorite is Senator Marco Rubio.

Obama Guts Welfare Reform

Very quietly late last week, the Obama Administration issued a directive gutting welfare reform. A memo released Thursday by the Department of Health and Human Services invited the states to seek waivers from the 1996 welfare reform law that required welfare recipients to work. According to the memo, states may seek waivers to "test alternative and innovative strategies."

Senior congressional Republicans are demanding more information from HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, and are questioning her legal authority to issue the waivers. With food stamp usage and deficits running at record highs, this is just one more example of the Obama Administration encouraging dependency on Big Government when we can least afford it.

It's also a good example of Obama's deception. As the Daily Caller notes, during his appearance at Saddleback Church in 2008, Obama cited the popular welfare reform law as an example of an issue where he had changed his mind. Obama said, "I was much more concerned ten years ago when President Clinton initially signed the bill that this could have disastrous results ... It worked better than I think a lot of people anticipated. And one of the things that I am absolutely convinced of is that we have to have work as a centerpiece of any social policy."

So Obama was quick to embrace the law to make himself look like a moderate, but now he's trying to gut the work requirement!

Here's one last point to consider. Obama constantly berates Republicans for refusing to work in a bi-partisan manner. But the two most popular, bi-partisan pieces of legislation to come out of the Republican Congress and be signed by Democrat Bill Clinton were the welfare reform law and the Defense of Marriage Act.

On final passage, the welfare reform bill got 328 votes in the House and 78 votes in the Senate. DOMA got 342 votes in the House and 85 votes in the Senate. Barack Obama is actively undermining both of them!

Obama's Bain Deception

For several days now, the Obama campaign and its liberal media allies have been driving the debate by making outrageous claims and statements related to Mitt Romney's tenure at Bain Capital. I'm not going to get into the details here of when Romney left Bain, because that's not important. At a time when we've got unacceptably high unemployment and record deficits, I understand why Obama wants to talk about Bain Capital and not his failed policies.

But here's what you need to know: When it comes to the Bain allegations, Obama is lying. I know, I'm conservative, you probably expected me to say that. Well, don't take my word for it.

The Washington Post says Obama's accusations are false. FactCheck.org says they are false. Bain Capital says they are false. And even the New York Times writes, "Indeed, no evidence has yet emerged that Mr. Romney exercised his powers at Bain after February 1999 or directed the funds' investments after he left..."

The problem is, it may not matter. Obama has enough money and he will spend even more to convince people that his version of events is the truth. In 2008 he convinced voters that John McCain was going to raise their taxes!

You can help us expose Obama's lies by sharing these reports with friends and family members who may be undecided or soft in their support for Obama. (Don't waste your time on die-hard liberals.) But the Romney campaign must do more than demand apologies because, as Obama has already said, they won't get one. This Chicago gang doesn't play nice. The Romney campaign needs to hit back hard and get voters focused on Obama's failed presidency!

Standing With Israel

Christians United for Israel, founded by Pastor John Hagee, kicked off its seventh annual Washington Summit today. Coincidentally or not, the Washington Post published a major analysis of Barack Obama's Middle East policy this weekend. I can assure you that the work of Christians United for Israel has never been more important!

For example, the Post notes that Obama began his presidency by seeking to distance the United States from Israel and to "regain Arab trust." One former Palestinian advisor told the Post that Obama had a "complete lack of an emotion-based relationship with Israel." All of Obama's pressure on Israel convinced the Palestinians "that it was pain-free to say no to the United States."

As the Post report makes painfully clear, this is the most anti-Israel administration in recent memory. And it coincides with the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran's aggressive pursuit of nuclear weapons. Now more than ever, Israel needs America's unwavering support and friendship.

Emanuel Stumbles Into The Truth

In my weekly Human Events column, I elaborate on Rahm Emanuel's sudden interest in values in the horrific aftermath of gang violence that has left hundreds dead or wounded in Chicago. I wrote about this issue last week, and, not surprisingly, there appears to be an almost orchestrated attempt by left-wing, pro-homosexual blogs to twist my remarks.

Just to be clear, I do not believe that gay marriage causes children to get shot in city streets. That's absurd. My point is that the left is wasting time promoting the radical idea of men "marrying" other men, rather than dealing with the epidemic issue of fatherless homes in our major cities, which is a cause of violence. The point seems obvious enough, but the left's distortion is evidence of its dishonesty.

When I Grow Up I Want to be An Organ Donor!

The analysis is in and exceeds expectations! Our infallible experts have reviewed the Affordable Care Act and conclude that the average life expectancy in the U.S. will increase by 40 years.

This means that most people will live to be more than 100 years old!

So, if you're a thirty-something still living with your parents, you're really just an adolescent. Just think of what you'll be when you really grow up!

Here are some jobs that will be in high demand:

- Organ Donor: Party members who are "more equal" will, occasionally, need an eye, kidney, lung, liver, or heart. Donate and receive special thanks from The Party.

- Tax Collector: Not only will you get to wear a cool brown shirt, you'll also ensure that the able provide for the needy.

- Health-Guard: As part of the armed services, you'll get to carry a gun and stop "the ignorant" from trying to leave the country for what they perceive to be "better" healthcare, while smuggling out collectively owned organs contained inside their bodies.

- Inspectors of Procrustean Hospital Beds: One size must fit all!

Glenn Beck form 8/28/2010 Rally Obama speech causes Pat to run around studio screaming

Glenn and his co-hosts have followed the Obama administration closely over the past 3 years. They've had to cover countless lies, ridiculous arguments, smears, attacks, illogical stances, etc. But today's whopper sent co-host Pat Gray over the edge and into a maniacal screaming fit. What did Obama say that finally pushed him off the cliff

Obama: Successful people didn't make it on their own

President Obama made the blatantly non-American comment last week that successful people are only successful because they had government providing roads for them. He said you didn't achieve that business success -- 'someone else' did. Glenn rips Obama's logic apart on radio today.

Small business owners don't stop working at 5 PM. . . They work tirelessly to provide carefully crafted products every day. Help support small businesses today with The Marketplace by Markdown.com.

Glenn hears from Scooter, The Homeless Advisor

He doesn't have a home and lives out of his vehicle, but that's not stopping Scooter from trying to make the trip to Restoring Love in Dallas later this month. Scooter has vowed to make it on his own, with no help from the government - how's he doing so far? He called into radio today - check out the call HERE and stop by his blog HERE

TheBlaze.com EXCLUSIVE: In just a short time in Washington D.C., Florida Senator Marco Rubio has become a leading voice in the national discussion surrounding immigration policy reform. Senator Marco Rubio's new memoir, An American Son, discusses the partisan challenges to achieving sensible immigration policy reform. Read TheBlaze.com exclusive excerpt HERE.

Americans kidnapped in Egypt

Well, if you were one of the 3 people pining for the "good 'ol days" of Jimmy Carter, you got 'em. Glenn told his radio listeners of the reports that American Christians were kidnapped in Egypt over the weekend, officially allowing Barack Obama to complete the 'I want to be greater than Jimmy Carter circle.' On a positive note, maybe we'll continue down this road and get a repeat of the Reagan Era - WATCH.

Tim Pawlenty to be Vice President?

Whoever Romney picks, hopefully he does it soon so as to spare America from ridiculous speculations and overuse of the phrase 'veepstakes'. Last week Condi Rice was the rumored pick, so who is it this week? Many are buying the theory that Tim Pawlenty may be the guy. What's Glenn say about that possible choice? He talked about it on radio today.

You Asked, Glenn Answered: Who will be speaking at Restoring Love events? How can you get the Restoring Love Soundtrack? Glenn answers your Restoring Love questions. Click here to get all the details on how you can watch Restoring Love on GBTV.

Is being wealthy a problem? It might be for Obama...

Glenn unloaded on Obama's relentless attack on the rich and anyone generally successful in America today. Obama once again vilified success using the 'fairness' mantra. But as in every case, fairness in Obama's world is everbody earning the same amount of money. That's not fairness - that's communism. Glenn has more on radio HERE.

Believing Is Easy: In a little over a week Glenn will unite with thousands of Americans in Dallas Cowboys Stadium for Restoring Love. This is much more than a big summer event - preceded by Restoring Honor and Restoring Courage, Restoring Love will be the final step in a trilogy of action steps that will kick off a movement of peace and freedom. Political affiliation and strong beliefs are not enough to Restore America - it's going to take a change in behaivor.

The Chart Obama Doesn't Want You to See

It's well documented that Obama never takes the blame for anything--ever. That's where this nifty little chart that squarely places the blame on Obama for the slowest economic recovery since World War II comes in handy.
