TPP Secret Trade Agreement Puts International Tribunal Above U.S. Law

Wednesday morning a document was leaked that reveals President Obama's plans to surrender American sovereignty to international tribunals. This is one of several frightening provisions of the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership (also known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, orTPP) being negotiated in secret by American trade representatives.
In the now-public document, as part of its membership in the TPP, the United States would agree to exempt foreign corporations from our laws and regulations, placing the resolution of any disputes as to the applicability of those matters to foreign business in the hands of an international arbitration tribunal overseen by the Secretary General of the United Nations.
The leaked information confirms the fears of many who have opposed this trade agreement from the beginning. Several groups from the Left and the Right have decried the shroud of secrecy covering the TPP negotiations and are now vindicated by Wednesday's revelations.
One of these valiant organizations defending the sovereignty of the United States is Americans for Limited Government (ALG). On Thursday, ALG released a statement drawing attention to the leaked TPP agreement, as well as ably pointing out some of the most noxious aspects of it.

WASHINGTON, D.C.- A leak today of one of the most controversial chapters of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) reveals that extreme provisions have been agreed to by U.S. officials, providing a stark warning about the dangers of "trade" negotiations occurring under conditions of extreme secrecy without press, public or policymaker oversight, Public Citizen said.
"The outrageous stuff in this leaked text may well be why U.S. trade officials have been so extremely secretive about these past two years of TPP negotiations," said Lori Wallach, director of Public Citizen's Global Trade Watch. "Via closed-door negotiations, U.S. officials are rewriting swaths of U.S. law that have nothing to do with trade and in a move that will infuriate left and right alike have agreed to submit the U.S. government to the jurisdiction of foreign tribunals that can order unlimited payments of our tax dollars to foreign corporations that don't want to comply with the same laws our domestic firms do."

In the Watergate scandal, no one died, at least that we know of. Richard Nixon tried systematically to subvert institutions. Yet most of his unconstitutional efforts were domestic in nature - and an adversarial press soon went to war against his abuses and won, as Congress held impeachment hearings.
As far as national security went, Nixon's crimes were in part culpable for destroying the political consensus that he had won in 1972, at a critical time when the Vietnam War to save the south was all but over, and had been acknowledged as such at the Paris Peace Talks. But Watergate and the destruction of Nixon's foreign policy spurred congressional cutbacks of aid to South Vietnam and eroded all support for the administration's promised efforts to ensure that North Vietnam kept to its treaty obligations.
Iran-Contra was as serious because there was a veritable war inside the Reagan administration over helping insurgents with covert cash that had in part been obtained by, despite denials, selling arms to enemy Iran to free hostages - all against U.S. laws and therefore off the radar. The Reagan administration was left looking weak, hypocritical, incompetent, and amoral - and never quite recovered. Yet even here the media soon covered the story in detail, and their disclosures led to several resignations and full congressional hearings.
Quite Different
What I call "Securitygate" - the release of the most intricate details about the cyber war against Iran, the revelations about a Yemeni double-agent, disclosures about covert operations in and against Pakistan, intimate details about the Osama bin Laden raid and the trove of information taken from his compound, and the Predator drone assassination list and the president's methodology in selecting targets - is far more serious than either prior scandal. David Sanger and others claim that all this was sort of in the public domain anyway; well, "sort of" covers a lot of ground. We sort of knew about the cyber war against Iran, but not to the detail that Sanger provides and not through the direct agency of the Obama administration itself.
Here is the crux of the scandal: Obama is formulating a new policy of avoiding overt unpopular engagements, while waging an unprecedented covert war across the world. He's afraid that the American people do not fully appreciate these once-secret efforts and might in 2012 look only at his mishaps in Afghanistan or his public confusion over Islamic terror. Ergo, feed information to a Sanger or Ignatius so that they can skillfully inform us, albeit with a bit of dramatic "shock" and "surprise," just how tough, brutal, and deadly Barack Obama really is.
Yet these disclosures will endanger our national security, especially in the case of a soon-to-be-nuclear Iran. They will probably get people killed or tortured, and they will weaken America's ability for years to work covertly with allies. Our state-to-state relations will be altered, and perhaps even the techniques and technology of our cyber and special operations wars dispersed into the wrong hands. There is nothing in the recent "exclusive" writings of David Sanger or David Ignatius that was necessary for the American people to know at this stage, unless one thinks that we had a right to the full story of the Doolittle Raid in 1942, or that Americans by July 1944 needed an insider account of the date and planning of D-Day, or that we should have been apprised about what was really going on in New Mexico in 1944.

Tom still lives on the farm in Armstrong County where he grew up. After graduating from Elderton High School in 1965, he postponed college to help his father tend that farm and supplemented his income by driving a school bus. While plans for school vouchers remain mired in the General Assembly, some lawmakers are supporting a new idea to help kids in failing schools. Rep. Jim Christiana, R-Beaver, is introducing a bill that would create a $100 million tax credit program aimed at children in poor-performing schools. The bill to create the new Educational Improvement Scholarship Credit will be introduced today in the House of Representatives. The program would try to build on the state's $75 million Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. That program grants tax credit to companies that donate to preschool and K-12 scholarships to students or to innovative public education programs. Tax credits for this program typically are spoken for in a matter of days after they become available. The new tax credit program would be limited to companies donating to organizations that provide scholarships to students in the state's worst-performing schools. In Christiana's plan as well as the existing EITC program, businesses donating to scholarship organizations could cut their state taxes by up to 90 cents on every dollar donated to education. The goal of Christiana's plan is to generate enough money to provide an escape for 30,000 low- and middle-income students in failing public schools. His plan would provide scholarships of up to $8,500 for a regular education student and up to $15,000 for a special-needs student. "I think it is a very attractive program to those that want to help these kids get out of the violent underperforming schools," Christiana said. Support for a new education tax credit is evolving among House Republican leaders. "I think it's definitely something we should do," said House Majority Whip Stan Saylor, R-York.

"Losing our Sons": Documentary looks at domestic Islamic radicalization and jihadization
Charles Jacobs at Americans for Peace and Tolerance announced today the release of a trailer for their upcoming documentary, "Losing Our Sons", featuring Melvin Bledsoe - father of domestic terrorist Carlos Bledsoe aka Abdulhakim Mohamed who gunned down US Army recruiter Pvt. William Long at an Army-Navy recruiting center in Little Rock, Arkansas in June 2009. Melvin Bledsoe testified at the House Homeland Security Committee hearing earlier this month.
The upcoming documentary discusses how Bledsoe was radicalized by the Muslim Student Association in Tennessee and sent to terrorist training in Yemen with the written recommendation of the imam of a Nashville mosque. It also discusses how the agents of radicalization in the Nashville Muslim community have been aided by collaborators in the establishment media, politics and the so-called "interfaith" community.

When Obama first came out against gay marriage, he was doing it to pander to voters. Now that he came out for gay marriage, he was pandering to a different set of voters. A small set with deep pockets who needed a reason to cheer him and donate to him.
No matter how many rainbow halos Newsweek sticks around his photoshopped head, there is no escaping the inescapable conclusion that Obama's alternating opposition and support for two men holding hands in a Las Vegas chapel while an Elvis impersonator pronounces them man and man, has nothing to do with his ideals and everything to do with precise political calculations.
Liberal apologetics explain Obama's decline as the woes of a naive idealistic lad, another Mr. Smith who spends too much stuttering and playing golf, to be able to properly explain to America why it needs to get in touch with its inner liberal child. But if Obama had been that fellow, he would have given his Adam and Steve speech a few days into his administration, not after a few years and some heckling from gay rights advocates.
Obama's Dream Act is a creature from the same closet. Trade in the rainbow halo for a tricolor sombrero and give Latino voters something to chew on going into the election. There's nothing idealistic about the maneuver. Much as liberals want their Josiah Bartlet, instead they've got David Hampton, who's slick, smooth and completely unprincipled.
If legalizing illegals is the right thing to do, then like gay marriage, it was the right thing to have done years ago. Instead the timing testifies that it wasn't the right to do for America. It was the right thing to do for Obama.
Obama deciding to carpet bomb American jobs would be bad enough, but what's worse is that he did it in the service of his own needs. It's grand scale policymaking whose only purpose is to get one man another four years doing a job that he isn't very good at. And if a few hundred thousand Americans have to lose their jobs for him to get his back, that doesn't bother him.

Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center appwill, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.
It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on.
Then Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. of Delaware and Senator Strom Thurmond of South Carolina introduced S. 3266, the Crime Control Act of 1990. The law, introduced on October 27, 1990, sailed through Congress in one day. It passed the Senate by unanimous consent before 5 o'clock that evening. At 11:56 p.m. the House of Representatives approved it by 313-1. It was a bipartisan compromise and sailed through both house of Congress with Republicans and Democrats alike approving it. For perspective on this bipartisan act of supposed good governance, it took longer to for the legislation to be put in final form and presented to the President than it did to pass the Congress. Having been introduced and passed on October 27, 1990, it was not even presented to the President until November 19, 1990, and was not signed until ten days later.
Three years later, many of the same Republicans who supported the Crime Control Act of 1990 would rally behind the individual mandate as their counter-proposal to Hillary Clinton's healthcare plan.
In 1995, five members of the United States Supreme Court declared one section of the bipartisan Crime Control Act of 1990, called the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990, an unconstitutional reach for the federal government even via the commerce clause. The case, United States v. Alfonso Lopez, Jr., 514 U.S. 549 (1995) was the first time in a half century the Supreme Court restricted Congress's powers under the commerce clause of the Constitution.
Lopez hindered Congress's power to restrict people's ability to carry guns near schools - not exactly something a lot of Americans were against. There was no hue and cry from the left about how the Supreme Court was going to be unpopular. But more importantly, back in 1995, it did not matter that the Republicans, like the Democrats, thought Congress had the power to regulate guns carried near schools.
The benefit of being a leftist is that history does not matter. Twenty years after the law passed with no thought as to its constitutionality, the left is setting up the media narrative anticipating Obamacare being overturned all because the left never bothered, at the time, to take seriously the idea that the individual mandate might be unconstitutional.
Compare and contrast these maps. First, the "undervote" by county in the recent Pennsylvania Democratic Presidential primary. The numbers in each county represent the proportion of voters in a Democratic primary who selected "no candidate" rather than vote for the incumbent, Barack Obama.
Background: Mitt Romney made a campaign speech today that used the WaWa convenience store franchise's touch screen sandwich menu feature to make the point of how more cool and efficient the private sector is, when compared to the government. MSNBC doctored the clip to make it look like Romney was merely astounded that we have touch screen sandwich menus now*. Lots of people called MSNBC out on it. Hijinks are now going to ensue.

President Obama today spoke out about an increasingly common but vile tendency on the part of many people, such as Republicans: blaming other people for their mistakes.
According to Washington Post, President Obama warned supporters that Republicans have boiled down their campaign to a single phrase: It's Obama's fault. "You can pretty much put their campaign on a tweet and have some characters to spare," Obama said, adding that these attempts at finger-pointing are pathetic lies because everyone knows the nation's current troubles are all George W. Bush's fault.
Obama's Pentagon Buys Helicopters From Same Russian Company Supplying Arms to Syrian Government

In what some on Capitol Hill are calling an outrage, the Pentagon announced plans to purchase 21 Mi-17 Russian helicopters from Rosoboronexport. With a taxpayer price tag of $375 million, the purchase of Russian made helicopters will be completed over the next 4 years. Worse yet is that they announced a contingency plan to purchase additional helicopters worth $550 million.
Although US taxpayers are buying these helicopters, they are not for us. They are for Afghanistan to help build up their fleet of the Russian made helicopters.
As it turns out, Rosoboronexport is also doing business with the Syrian government who is purchasing weapons from them to be used on their own people. In what some are calling an official civil war, the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad have been attacking and killing thousands of his own people. Al-Assad is not only attacking the opposition forces in his country, but he has repeatedly attacked women and children and in some cases lined them up for assassination, as what took place in the city of Houla where 108 were murdered.
Every year, for the last nine years, a talented artist, Ray (Bubba) Sorensen II, has done a Memorial Day tribute to our servicemen and servicewomen, both past and present, with a stirring tableau painted on a large granite boulder which stands next to Highway 25 in rural Iowa. The huge granite boulder came out of the nearby Schillberg Rock Quarry and it weighs approx. 56 tons (50.8Mg) and is 12 ft (3.7m) high.

President Obama Calls Israeli Govt. "Extreme Right" Despite Israeli Concessions, Broadening of Israeli Coalition & Absence of Palestinian Concessions
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has taken issue with the description of the Israeli government offered by President Barack Obama to a Jewish group in which he was reported in the Jewish daily Forward as saying that the Israeli government of Benjamin Netanyahu was "extreme right." According to the report, during a meeting with a delegation of orthodox rabbis from the Orthodox Union, "The President described Israel's government as having been extreme right and said that Netanyahu, just like any other world leader, does not want any restraints'" (Nathan Gutman, 'Obama Gets Copy of Washington Letter,' Forward, June 5, 2012).
The ZOA was surprised that, despite past - and recent - concessions by this Israeli Government, including Israel's pleading for negotiations; its openly-stated readiness to make new, painful concessions; the broadening of the Government to include the main Opposition, leftwing Kadima Party; and the presence in the Government as Defense Minister of former Labor Party leader Ehud Barak, and now a Deputy Prime Minister, Shaul Mofaz, both of whom have said that they would unilaterally relinquish 60% of Judea and Samaria to Palestinian control, the President nonetheless described the Israeli government as belonging to the extreme right.
ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said, "We find it puzzling that President Obama would say that the Israeli government is of the extreme right. There is no factual or analytical basis for it.
"First, the Netanyahu government, from its inception in 2009, made it clear that it accepted in-principle the idea of a negotiated Palestinian state. Wise or unwise, such a position cannot be described as of the 'extreme right.'
"Second, the Netanyahu government - despite the absence of any Palestinian concession or indication of moderation - agreed to a 10-month freeze on all Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria, a unilateral concession that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton herself described at the time, correctly, as 'unprecedented.' Indeed, no previous Israeli government had agreed to and implemented such a concession before.
"Third, despite the failure of Mahmoud Abbas' PA to negotiate virtually at all during the freeze and its failure to negotiate to date, Israel has made it clear that it is willing to negotiate with the PA immediately, without preconditions.
"Fourth, it is singularly strange that President Obama would say that the Israeli government is of the extreme right only days after Prime Minister Netanyahu formed a coalition with Shaul Mofaz's leftwing opposition Kadima party, which holds 28 seats and which advocates for leftwing policies. The current Israeli government constitutes 94 out of 120 Knesset seats, the second broadest coalition government in the country's history."

The heart of this book is the chapter titled "Olympic Games," which Mr. Sanger writes is the code name for a joint program of Israel and the United States to insert malicious software into the machinery of the Iranian military-industrial complex and so set back Iran's ability to manufacture weapons-grade uranium. Specifically, in 2008 and 2009 the software threw off the balance of centrifuges at the Natanz nuclear enrichment center. It did so in a variety of unpredictable ways, making it at first seem like the problems were random or the result of Iranian incompetence. The key to getting inside the computers - which were not connected to the Internet - was to load the virus into thumb drives that Iranian nuclear technicians, perhaps unknowingly, would bring to work and plug into the computer systems there.

If Barack Obama is re-elected, Greta Hawkins will be his next Secretary of Education. The principal of PS 90, Brooklyn's Edna Cohen School, thinks a song about God and country could traumatize children.
The kindergarten class was rehearsing for their June 20 graduation when Hawkins stormed into the room and ordered the CD player shut off. It was playing Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA," which the children were going to sing at the ceremony.
Teachers who were there said Hawkins told them, "We don't want to offend other cultures." And which cultures would those be? Unpatriotic druids?
Hawkins later offered another explanation, saying the lyrics were "too grown up" for 5-years olds, then provided a classic illustration of brain-dead bureaucracy in action by substituting Justin Bieber's "Baby."
In other words, "I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today. 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away," is too much for impressionable minds, but "Are we an item? Girl stop playing," is fine for 5-year-olds.
Luz Lozada, parent of a kindergartener at PS 90, was furious: "A lot of people fought to move to America, so that song (Greenwood's not Bieber's) should be sung with a whole lot of pride." Lozada said that when "God Bless The USA" was featured at previous graduations: "Everybody applauded and whistled. They gave it a standing ovation."
A doctrinaire multiculturalist with a chip on her shoulder the size of Obama's ego, Hawkins also tried to end the tradition of starting the school day with the Pledge of Allegiance and singing "America The Beautiful." "I'm black. Your previous principal was white and Jewish. More of us are coming," Hawkins is reported to have said. Huh?
Called our second National Anthem, "God Bless America" was written by a Jew named Irving Berlin. Black patriots have served in every American war, from the Revolution to Afghanistan (while not always receiving the respect they deserved).
A face-saving compromise has been reached: Both the Bieber and Greenwood songs are out.
Instead, the kids will sing "America The Beautiful," which invokes the Deity eight times, including "God mend thy every flaw." It's impossible to find a patriotic ballad that doesn't acknowledge the Creator and beg His blessings, including "My Country 'Tis of Thee" ("Our fathers' God to Thee, Author of liberty....") and "The Star-Spangled Banner" ("And this be our motto, In God is our trust.").
In "Rediscovering God In America," Newt Gingrich observed: "There is no attack on American culture more destructive and more historically dishonest than the secular left's relentless effort to drive God out of America's public square." This multi-pronged offensive takes place in the public schools (especially over prayers at sports events), at city council meetings (regarding invocations), over holiday displays (Christmas trees, Nativity scenes, even candy canes) and on the college campus where Christian groups which won't accept non-Christian leaders are banned.
There's a rationale for every move to separate God and America: It's a violation of the Establishment Clause. Calling a Christmas tree a Christmas tree is tantamount to a state church. When constitutional arguments fail, multiculturalism and sensitivity are rolled out. "We don't want to offend other cultures." And, my favorite, some people will feel excluded.
We should probably get rid of Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Those who didn't serve must feel excluded. Father's Day and Mother's Day probably alienate non-parents. The 4th of July must make the president feel like an outsider.
This hyper-sensitivity applies only to favored minorities. If you're a veteran, a patriot, a Christian, an observant Jew, a right-to-lifer or the average parent, and are rightfully offended by something repulsive you're forced to subsidize, well - tough.
* The June 5th Los Angeles Times describes a pioneering partnership between Planned Parenthood and the L.A. Unified School District. The nation's largest abortion provider is now running clinics in the district's schools, where students can get "free" (taxpayer-funded) and "confidential" (your parents will never know) services like birth-control devices, pregnancy testing, STD screenings - even the abortifacient morning-after pill. And if a 15-year-old needs to "terminate" her unplanned conception, I'm sure the in-school clinic will refer her to one of its other clinics, and perhaps even transport her there. Think anyone who hasn't been liberally lobotomized is offended by this?
* On Friday, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta ordered the U.S. Armed Forces to celebrate "gay pride" month, and thanked homosexuals in uniform for their service. "Now you can be proud of serving your country, and be proud of who you are," Panetta prattled. I can think of a few million ex-servicemen who might be insulted by this obscene pandering to further the president's agenda in an election year.
* In 2003, U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton ruled that telling seventh-graders in California schools to memorize verses from the Koran, pray to Allah and simulate the Ramadan fast (as part of a history and geography class) does not constitute indoctrination. Families of 3,000 Americans who were murdered in the name of Islam on 9/11 might disagree.
* Obama should write a book, "How to Alienate The Faithful In Ten Easy Steps." Wall Builders' David Barton calls him "America's most biblically-hostile president." That hostility is manifested by: refusing to host National Day of Prayer services in the White House (while never missing an opportunity to celebrate Islam); on at least two occasions, misquoting the unalienable-rights section of the Declaration of Independence by omitting the words "their Creator;" nominating three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican (all rejected by Rome); leaving God out of his 2011 Thanksgiving Proclamation; opposing the inclusion of FDR's D-Day prayer in the World War II Memorial; trying to force a contraception/abortion mandate on Catholic institutions and insisting that America is not a Christian country. He's also the president most hostile to Israel and enamored of Islam.
Try as they might to rewrite history, revisionists can't overcome the fact that God, the Bible and Judeo-Christian morality are such an integral part of our national saga that it's impossible to imagine an America without them.
The Mayflower Compact said the Plymouth Colony was "undertaken for the Glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith." The earliest settlers were drawn to these shores by faith: the Puritans and Pilgrims in Massachusetts, Quakers in Pennsylvania, and Catholics in Maryland. And, Barton notes, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Georgia were "founded by ministers for religious purposes."
The religious revival called the First Great Awakening led to the movement for separation from Great Britain. The Declaration of Independence refers to the Almighty as "Nature's God," "Creator," "The Supreme Judge of the World" and "Divine Providence."
When the Minutemen assembled on the Lexington common on April 19, 1775, the Rev. Jonas Clark was in the front rank. Up and down the 13 colonies, liberty was preached from pulpits. After a particularly fiery sermon, Lutheran Minister Peter Muhlenberg threw off his clerical robe to reveal the uniform of a Colonel in the Continental Army. The next day, he led 300 men from his church into that army.
In America's second baptism by fire: the abolitionist movement came primarily from Northern churches. "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was written by the daughter of a prominent religious leader.
Lincoln rallied a war-weary Union with the hope "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom." In his second inaugural address, our 16th president invoked God 14 times, and quoted Scriptures twice.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the president Obama compares himself to most often, declared in a May 27, 1941 radio address, that the war in Europe and Asia was "between human slavery and human freedom - between pagan brutality and the Christian ideal." On October 27, 1941, FDR said the Nazis planned to "abolish all existing religions" and replace "the cross of Christ" with the swastika and a sword.
On D-Day, Roosevelt led the nation in prayer: "Almighty God, our sons, pride of our nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity."
It's not that God has something to do with America. He has everything to do with America.
No encounter at Sinai, no impetus to create a shining city on a hill. No Pilgrims, Puritans, Quakers, etc. No Founding Fathers who took their inspiration from the Bible. Benjamin Franklin proposed for the Great Seal of the United States Moses extending his hand over the Red Sea, with the motto, "Rebellion to Tyrants is obedience to God." Cast on the Liberty Bell is a verse from Leviticus (Chapter 25, verse 10).
No religious impulse, no abolitionist movement, no Civil Rights movement, either. No 1963 speech at the Lincoln Memorial, where the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. shared his dream that, "One day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places plains, and the crooked places will be made straight, and before the Lord will be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together."
No hope of Heaven, no reason for young soldiers to make the ultimate sacrifice. No D-Day. No liberation of Nazi death camps. No one to thwart the advance of communism in the post-war era.
For that matter, no Israel, which was founded with the support of a president from the Bible Belt steeped in the history of ancient Israel.
No liberty and justice for all. No land of opportunity. No shores of refuge. No melting pot. No engine of prosperity. No workshop of industrial wonders and technological innovations. No example of liberty and self-government to people everywhere.
In short, dear Greta - dear ACLU, dear People for the American Way, dear Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, dear New York Times editorialists, dear president - no God, no America.

As the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility heats up, at least in Arizona and Florida, more information is being revealed from Maricopa County's Cold Case Posse investigation and there's more to come.
Last year, the Cold Case Posse launched an investigation into Obama's eligibility at the request of a number of Tea Party members who are registered voters in Maricopa County. What many people may not realize is that the Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse is an all-volunteer organization and as such, the investigation they are involved in is not costing the Sheriff's Department or taxpayers anything. They raise their own funds through various donors and fundraising events.
Mike Zullo, the lead investigator is a retired detective from New Jersey. Recently, Zullo was interviewed by Mark Gillar, the host of Tea Party Power Hour where he revealed more damaging information about Obama's birth records. To begin with, he and his investigators have discovered overwhelming evidence of the wide spread practice of foreigners coming to Hawaii and purchasing birth certificates for their children born in their own country.
23% of Small Business Owners Went a Year Without Pay and Obama is Happy About It

Since 2010, I have not received a salary from the company where I'm the president and have worked for 31 years. My business partner, who is vice-president, also does not receive a salary. In addition, we've had to lay off a few people. My wife was the first to be let go. Thankfully, we have other jobs. We've used some of the profits from our successful businesses to help with the financial shortfall of our struggling company. Here's what a report by Citibank found:
"Keeping businesses afloat has required sacrifices on the part of both employer and employees, the survey found. Over the past few years, business owners report that they have, at one time or another, taken less profit (78 percent), worked more hours than usual (70 percent), and used their own money to help the business survive (69 percent).
"But what is most revealing is that the majority of respondents - 54 percent - say they have gone without a paycheck in order to keep the business running. And nearly one-quarter (23 percent) have gone without pay for one year or more.

Adidas has sparked outrage and been accused of 'promoting slavery' by creating a new pair of trainers which have bright orange 'shackles' that fit around the wearer's ankles.
The clothing giant is under fire for its August scheduled release of the JS Roundhouse Mids, which many have compared to the devices worn by black slaves in 19th Century America.
The seemingly innocent promotional material, uploaded to Facebook earlier this month, asks: 'Got a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles?'

Over the weekend, I watched the coverage of Barack Obama's Friday order allowing some younger illegal immigrants to remain in the country, and I was disturbed by what I saw and heard. Among conservatives, there was too much of a tendency to gloss over how Obama dealt with the issue.
Many preemptively surrendered with comments like, "But really this is a decent thing to do," or "Republicans have to be careful because it will cost them the Hispanic vote." In my view, that is exactly the wrong emphasis.
Let's say we wake up tomorrow morning and learn that Barack Obama thinks that taxes should be lowered because of the weak economy. Later in the day he holds a press conference to announce that due to overwhelming opposition from congressional Democrats, he is issuing an executive order slashing tax rates. Would we all run to the microphone and praise him? I don't think so.
It would be great that he understands pro-growth tax policy, but he still doesn't get the Constitution. I don't care if he declared that apple pie is our national pie and everyone gets $10,000. It is still wrong because he doesn't get to legislate. The president doesn't have the power to pick and choose the laws he will or won't enforce.
Unfortunately, Obama is acting as though he does. Over the weekend, Politico ran a story with this headline: "Obama's Policy Strategy: Ignore Laws." Consider this excerpt:
"On issue after issue -- gay rights, drug enforcement, Internet gambling, school achievement standards -- the administration has chosen to achieve its goals by a method best described as passive-aggressive. Rather than pushing new laws through a divided Congress to enact his agenda, Obama is relying on federal agencies to ignore ... laws that some of his important supporters ... don't like."
Here's what I would say to our Hispanic friends: I assume that many of you came here because you respect the rule of law. Sometimes our division of power doesn't give us everything we want. But you have certainty that both sides will respect the laws and procedures of this country. America is a nation of laws not of strongmen or thugs who rule by decree.
When Obama ordered churches to pay for contraception, both sides fell into a trap of debating contraception when the bigger issue was his attack on religious liberty. The same thing is happening here. This should not be a debate about immigration. The bigger issue at stake is whether the president is obligated to follow the Constitution.
By the way, was it just a complete coincidence that both Time and the New York Times ran major stories about the plight of young illegal immigrants in America just days before Obama's big announcement? Or is this more evidence of the White House leaking information to its friends in the left-wing media?
Some pundits have suggested that Obama's move really puts Romney in a box. It shouldn't. If we can't win a debate about whether or not the president rules by edict, then there is virtually nothing stopping Obama from issuing an executive order forcing every state to recognize same-sex "marriage" because he thinks it is the right thing to do.
Where Are The Jobs?
Obama gave the GOP another gift on Friday. Whatever the stories of these 800,000 individuals, who may be as old as 30, he just made 800,000 additional people eligible to have work permits in the United States. Do we not think this will be a matter of some interest to 13.6% of blacks, the 11% of Hispanics and 24.6% of teenagers who are currently unemployed? That's par for the course. Obama can create work permits, but he can't create jobs!
Every time Romney goes into Ohio, Pennsylvania or any struggling battleground state, he should emphasize that we are a compassionate nation. But he should also ask voters what is so compassionate about putting 800,000 more people into competition for jobs we don't have.
"Sharp Disagreements"
Friday night, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, perhaps the Supreme Court's most liberal justice, offered this insight about the remaining cases before the high court, "As one may expect, many of the most controversial cases remain pending. So it is likely that the sharp disagreement rate will go up next week and the week after."
For her to say that not only suggests that we are going to get some narrow 5-to-4 decisions, but they will likely contain some very heated rhetoric given the subject matter -- Arizona's anti-illegal immigration law and ObamaCare. It also highlights one of the most important aspects of presidential authority -- Supreme Court appointments -- and raises the stakes for November.
Right now the court is narrowly divided with four liberals, four conservatives and Justice Anthony Kennedy frequently breaking the tie. Four justices -- two liberals, one moderate and one conservative -- are over the age of 70: Breyer (73), Kennedy (75), Scalia (76) and Ginsburg (79). The next president could have the opportunity to make two appointments to the high court in the next four years, appointments that could radically alter the court's ideological balance. Keep that in mind as you cast your ballot on November 6th.

The Supreme Court of the United States will not release an opinion on ObamaCare or Arizona's SB 1070 today. The next opinion day will Thursday, June 21. Based on Supreme Court precedent, SB 1070 is expected to be upheld while ObamaCare is still very much up in the air. There is a high chance President Obama issued his illegal immigration order last week, which allows young illegals brought here by their parents to stay, because of the looming decision on SB 1070.

Fmr. Bush Atty General: Obama May Have Violated Oath Of Office With New Immigration Policy

Following President Obama's new immigration policy announcement, former George W. Bush administration Attorney General Alberto Gonzales voiced some concern about the means through which the president accomplished his goal. In issuing an executive order, he said, Obama may have violated his oath of office.
"To halt through executive order the deportation of some undocumented immigrants looks like a political calculation to win Hispanic votes," Gonzales said at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference on Saturday, "and subjects him to criticism that he is violating his oath of office by selectively failing to enforce the law."
Gonzales went on to say he does support "providing help to qualified children of immigrants," but that Obama's policy falls short in other respects:
The president's new policy does nothing to secure our borders or require greater workplace enforcement nor deal with visa overstayers nor deal with the millions of undocumented immigrants who entered this country as adults.
Asked by TPM about whether Mitt Romney, as president, should hypothetically keep the policy intact, Gonzales evaded a direct answer.
"I'm already on record supporting helping these kids," he said. "We need to provide some kind of help for these kids," he told another reporter.
Whether he resigns or is removed or spends the rest of this year responding to Congressional inquiries, Attorney general Holder has treated the Department of Justice as a partisan arm of the Obama Administration. Now and for the foreseeable future he is just another Albatross around Obama's neck.
Fast and Furious
Let's review the case against Eric Holder.
In the forefront of the news is the Department's role in an operation known as Fast & furious and his lies, obfuscations and stonewalling of the Congressional investigation of it. Most American Thinker readers are well aware of the outlandish program which permitted 1700 guns to cross our border into the hands of Mexican criminals who used them to murder hundreds of innocent civilians, one of our own Border agents, Brian Terry, and to commit crimes in U.S border states. If you are not and our mainstream media has not offered us much coverage of this outrage,--here's a one minute video describing the rogue program.

Now he wants to talk: Holder, in Senate testimony Tuesday, hinted at an end to his long stonewall in the deadly Fast and Furious scandal.
At issue is Holder's refusal to turn over tens of thousands of F&F documents that have been under subpoena since last fall. So far, Justice has managed to slow-walk about 7,600 up Capitol Hill.

The fakes in the Obama Administration - you remember them the guys running the most transparent Administration in history - always save their worst news for after 5 PM eastern time on Fridays. That way the Democrat cheerleaders in the media can hide it in the "Cajun Cooking" section in a Saturday newspaper not many people will read.
Friday at 5:36 PM Eastern, the Obama Administration announced the resignation of the stooge who would have been the overseer of implementation of the hated Obamacare. Whether he "fell or was pushed" is immaterial except for the fact that it adds fuel to the fire of speculation that "The most open and transparent Administration in history" KNOWS it will lose its Supreme Court showdown over the Constitutionality of Obamacare in total or part - either way America wins and they lose.
Even as RightOnline bloggers headed to the bars and the blackjack tables, the words of pollster Scott Rasmussen at the conference's final dinner echoed in our minds. On the one hand, he explained, the vast majority of Americans agree that free markets are better than government-managed economies, and that we want to live in the kind of society that limited government makes possible. On the other hand, Americans are fed up with both parties, and neither presidential candidate will emerge from this election with a mandate to pursue sweeping changes--even though drastic changes are needed.
The challenge for conservative new media, Rasmussen predicted, would be to shape messages that can reach the American people. Our society always leads its politicians towards change, he said, citing the example of the civil rights movement in the 1950s, and Americans are ready to reduce the size of government--but the hard work will be articulating that idea in terms to which people can relate. The political class will not give up its power easily--and so conservatives should reach beyond the political bubble.
The President and his team have been blaming "European headwinds" for some of the U.S. economy's woes. But the truth is that the policies pursued by Washington and Athens are frighteningly similar-and the outcomes are not good for either country. Both countries are in need of comprehensive fiscal reforms, yet their leaders have avoided the tough decisions in favor of bailouts and political posturing.
In yesterday's election, political parties supporting Greece's bailout secured a narrow victory, causing Europe and world markets to breathe a temporary sigh of relief. The parties must now form a coalition government, despite continued protests from the radical party that sought to throw out the terms of the bailout assistance-which could have led Greece out of the euro currency. At 22 percent unemployment, Greek voters expressed disappointment with their limited options.
The Greek crisis was foreshadowed in this year's Heritage Foundation/Wall Street JournalIndex of Economic Freedom, with Greece registering the largest decline in economic freedom of any country in the world. Its economy is rated "mostly unfree," and it has the fifth-lowest economic freedom score inEurope, beating only Russia and three former Soviet republics.
Why is it in such a state? The authors of the Index point to "decades of overspending, a lack of structural reform progress, and endemic corruption," noting that Greece's "lack of competitiveness and fading business confidence are serious impediments to economic revival. Adjustments in market conditions have been stifled or delayed by public unions."
A few other points of comparison: The U.S. corporate tax rate is higher than Greece's. The Index of Economic Freedom pegged America's overall tax burden at 24 percent of total domestic income, while Greece's overall tax burden was 30 percent of GDP. Government spending inAmerica-42 percent of GDP-approaches Greece's government spending level, which exceeds 50 percent of its GDP.
Both countries have structural economic deficiencies-like tax rates and labor regulations-that are causing deeply rooted problems. And both countries have tried to solve their fiscal problems through bailouts, to no avail.
Though it goes back to the adoption of the euro in 1999, the European crisis first broke into the open some 10 years later. In April 2009, the European Union told France, Spain, Ireland, and Greece to reduce their budget deficits in the wake of the credit crisis. Since the crisis began, Europe has substantially weakened its banking system, which is propped up only by central bank cash and shaky bailouts.
Now, defaulting on loans is a real possibility for Greece and other European nations. They have too long dismissed the need for economic growth in favor of government intervention.
Going into the G20 summit today and tomorrow in Mexico, President Obama "has called on European leaders to recapitalize weak banks and to focus on economic growth and not just budget austerity," reports Reuters. Basically, he has been urging European governments to spend more now, even as their borrowing costs and debt far exceed sustainable levels. One wonders how countries that have limited or no access to credit markets because of their dire fiscal situations are supposed to borrow the money for all this additional spending. There is only one substantive difference between Obama's policies for Europe and his domestic policy, where he has urged expanding government jobs as a solution to U.S. unemployment: The U.S. government can still borrow to finance its deficits, because we're only partway down the road the Greeks have already traveled.
The overspending, overtaxing, over-borrowing and over-regulating approach does not work forEuropeany more than it works for America.
To deal with any European financial fallout that might affect the U.S., we have to stop embracing the same policies. Congress and the President should rein in federal spending immediately by choice rather than being eventually forced to do so, as countries across Europe have been. They should declare a regulatory cease-fire and disarm the Taxmageddon threat.
America is responsible for its own economic problems, regardless of the winds sweeping across the Atlantic.

Only Voters Can Hold Obama Accountable for Illegal Amnesty Policy

President Obama's new amnesty policy regarding illegal aliens violates the law. But there's probably no route to trump it either in Congress or in court, so the only recourse is for the American people to trump it by electing a new president.
Obama's actions on granting backdoor amnesty fall into two different stages. Each is illegal for different reasons. However, occasionally situations can arise in our constitutional system where there is a "right without a remedy," where people's rights are being violated but there's nothing a court can do about it. That's what's happening here.
Although the details are still unclear, according to reports Obama's new policy will be not to deport illegal aliens if they (1) were brought to America before age 16, (2) have not yet reached age 30, (3) have no criminal record, (4) have graduated from high school, and (5) are either pursuing college or serving in the military. Aliens meeting all five criteria can be issued work visas and won't be deported.

The unabated moral confusion flowing through the media is stunning. It's so bad, you can't look away. But we should try.
With a few exceptions, the major TV networks are a torrential sewer of left-wing propaganda and smutty sitcoms. Print and online media are more diversified, but the New York Times has so many certifiables writing for it that I can't even decide which one to quote. Elsewhere, columnists like the Miami Herald's Leonard Pitts Jr. spin out nuggets like, "Racial animus is an element of tea party ideology, but not its entirety." Why, thanks for that caveat, Mr. Pitts.
The Washington Post's Courtland Milloy, after watching the Iowa caucuses on TV in January, complained bitterly that "nearly everybody was white." Imagine that shoe on the other foot.
Because I live and work in the Washington area, I'll narrow this litany of lunacy down to The Washington Post, which rarely disappoints.

Well, there they go again, carrying water for their army of odd men in raincoats. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Indiana is suing to strike down a state law forbidding convicted sex offenders from using social media such as Facebook.
The state argues that allowing released felons on social media opens up opportunities for them to troll for children on the Internet.
"It's hard to come up with an example of a sexual predator who doesn't use some form of social networking anymore," said Steve DeBrota, an assistant U.S. attorney in Indianapolis who prosecutes child sex crimes, to the Associated Press in defense of the law.
The case, Doe v. Marion County Prosecutor, is in the U.S. District Court for Southern Indiana.The ACLU of Indiana contends that Indiana's prohibition overreaches, punishing people who have served their sentences.

In the Watergate scandal, no one died, at least that we know of. Richard Nixon tried systematically to subvert institutions.
