If your looking for a succinct look at what the Tea Party stands for and where they are today watch this interview with Elizabeth Price Foley. She wrote a book called The Tea Party: Three Principles. She is a constitutional professor at Florida International University, College of Law.
John F. Kennedy, the father of the Reagan Democrats, would have been 95 this week.
May 29th of this week marked John F. Kennedy's 95th birthday.
Had he never gone to Dallas, had he the blessings of long years like his 105 year old mother Rose, the man immutably fixed in the American memory as a vigorous 40-something surely would be seen in an entirely different light.
If JFK were alive today?
Presuming his 1964 re-election, we would know for a fact what he did in Vietnam. We would know for a fact what a second-term Kennedy domestic program produced. And yes, yes, all those torrent of womanizing tales that finally gushed into headlines in the post-Watergate era (and still keep coming, the tale of White House intern Mimi Alford recently added to the long list) would surely have had a more scathing effect on his historical reputation had he been alive to answer them.
But he wasn't.
As the world knows, those fateful few seconds in Dallas on November 22, 1963 not only transformed American and world history. They transformed JFK himself into an iconic American martyr, forever young, handsome and idealistic. Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of his assassination--and in spite of all the womanizing tales, in spite of the passage of now almost half a century--John F. Kennedy is still repeatedly ranked by Americans as among the country's greatest presidents. In the American imagination, JFK is historically invincible
All of this comes to mind not simply as JFK's 95th birthday came and went this week with remarkably little fanfare.
As readers of The American Spectator are well familiar,TAS founder and Editor-in-chief R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr. has a new book out in which he details The Death of Liberalism.
A Quinnipiac poll in April showed Chris Christie the most popular potential Republican vice-presidential candidate, thanks to his budget cuts and standing up to government employee unions. But the governor of New Jersey has a problem, specifically an Islam problem, in the way of his possible ascent to higher office. We regret to report that, time and again, he has sided with Islamist forces against those safeguarding American security and civilization.
Derek Fenton removed by police after burning pages of the Koran in 2010.
Some examples:
2008: When serving as U.S. attorney for New Jersey, Christie embraced and kissed Mohammed Qatanani, imam of the Islamic Center of Passaic County, and praised him as "a man of great goodwill." He did this after Qatanani had publicly ranted against Jews and in support of funding Hamas, a U.S. government-designated terror organization, and on the eve of his deportation hearing for hiding an Israeli conviction for membership in Hamas. In addition, Christie designated a top aide, Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles McKenna, to testify as a character witness for Qatanani.
The time is finally here. Our phone system is up and ready to go!
The folks in Wisconsin could use our help making calls to help motivate people to get our and vote on June 5th.
How to get started:
The most effective times to make calls are between 5pm and 8:30pm central time. We will send you an email each day to remind you!
Click hereto read the instructions for how to operate the phone system. It is important that you read through all of the instructions before you get started.
Click herefor the script. It is important that you stick to the script and remember that we aren't advocating for a particular candidate. We are calling to identify who will be voting and what issues are important to them.
We can't stress enough that the most effective times are between 5pm and 8:30pm central time.
Answers to Common Questions:
The phone number that you will dial to connect to the system is toll free.
The phone system will not display your personal phone number, so you don't have to worry about people calling you back.
You can connect to the system from any touch tone phone.
One hour commitments will be the most successful blocks of time for YOU and for Wisconsin.
Five short days from now, voters in Wisconsin will head to the polls to decide the fate of embattled Governor Scott Walker.
Our goal is to man each and every voting location with a trained poll watcher to ensure the integrity of the election.
A partisan showdown late last year culminated in nearly 1,000,000 petition signatures collected to force a recall election on Walker.
Among those signatures were thousands of phony names, inaccurate addresses, convicted felons, and even a signature from Donald Duck (who claims to live at a Starbucks near the Capitol in Madison).
Between these discrepancies and Wisconsin's long history of election fraud, this race has gained national attention as the race to watch.
Whether you're a Republican or Democrat, a Walker supporter or a union ally, we need your help to ensure Tuesday's election is FREE and FAIR.
The outcome of this recall election will have a huge impact on federal and state races throughout the country from June 6-November 6.
It would a shame-and un-American-if tainted results influence November's elections.
That's why it's critical that we stand together to prevent voter fraud from desecrating Tuesday's election in Wisconsin. With your help, True the Vote will man each and every polling place.
P.S. We don't have a lot of time to raise the funds to man every single voting location in Wisconsin with poll watcher's ahead of Tuesday's recall election on Governor Scott Walker.

June 5th meeting, General Wayne Tea Party - A special guest speaker!
We look forwardto having Nancy Becker as the "Main event" at our June 5th meeting at JC's Fireside Bistro.
Nancy has thrived in the private sector as well as in government, and has held Republican leadership posts at many levels. She's also a wife, a mother of two, grandmother of five, and great grandmother of one.
Currently working in government for Montgomery County, she manages a staff of twenty-six.
She will take a lot of the mystery out of politics for us, and explain why it's so critical that we become involved with what's happening in our own back yard. And how to go about it!
After she spoke a year ago with our sister Tea Party in Central Montgomery County, which is led by Jim and Pam Devlin, the reaction of their members about Nancy Becker's presentation was "Absolute dynamite".
Please mark your calendar for June 5th, 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., JC's Fireside Bistro, Valley Forge Shopping Center, King of Prussia.

P.S. Nancy Becker's bio and accomplishments appear below. She's obviously one of those people to whom the term "Extremely high energy level" is correctly applied.
Nancy Becker
Elected as the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds in 2003, Nancy Becker is an accomplished, professional administrator and manager with over 35 years experience in real estate, financial management, and strategic planning.
Currently she directs the Recorder of Deeds Office, full time, with a staff of twenty-six (26), who maintain the integrity of all land records and other documents entrusted to the department, as well as the collection and monthly distribution of County/State fees and Real Estate Transfer Taxes for the State, Townships, Boroughs, Municipalities and School Districts; while professionally serving the public with efficiency, accountability, and responsibility.
Over these past 8 years, as the Recorder of Deeds, Nancy has implemented new revenue sources, saved taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars ($750,000.00 alone in 2006), managed and cut costs; increased efficiency, timely recording and high accuracy rates; prioritized advanced, user-friendly systems, constituent services, security, and disaster recovery; and initiated procedures to protect residents from real estate fraud.
She initiated, coordinated, and spear-headed public effort for sponsorship and support of Senate Bill 1331, which prohibits the state from imposing and collecting state sales and Use Taxes for certain public services performed by any county governmental agency and/or court, and House Bill 1634 (Act 110), which eliminates the need to pre-register a deed prior to recording, thereby saving the residents of Montgomery County tens of thousands of dollars.
November 2011 she initiated a class action suit against MERS and the large banks that have not recorded mortgage assignments. She was featured in Bloomberg Businessweek November 2011 and Westlaw Journal December 2011 for her efforts to maintain the chain of title on mortgages and her attempt to collect in excess of $15 million dollars in recording fees for Montgomery County.
Under her direction, the Recorder of Deeds office has become a model of document management:
One of the highest tech land records offices in the country.
One of the first in the state to electronically record land documents (eRecord) accelerating document recording, creating efficiencies, reducing errors, and dramatically improving the county's ability to serve its constituents. "eRecording" is a government priority at both the Federal and State levels. It is just one of the priorities that I am initiating to comply with the Montgomery County Commissioners' eGoverment initiative.
One of the first in the state to apply artificial intelligence software, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) to automatically capture document data.
One of the first counties in state to participate in its eNotary initiative.
Digitizing land plans in order to make them available through direct computer entry allowing faster access to information.
Digitized land records dating back from 1784.
Implemented Disaster Tolerant/Recovery plan by total "redundant replication" of data and images.
Offer office information and forms online and in the process of integrating a digital archiving system.
Founded the first Property Records Educational Partners (PREP) organization in Pennsylvania, to maintain technological advancement, education, and user-friendly constituent service.
Nancy believes that responsibility of citizenship means being involved in the community. She has been a member of numerous community boards and commissions.
To mention some, she is the President of the PA Recorder of Deeds Association, President of the Northern Montgomery County Drug & Alcohol Task Force, Southeast Regional Chairperson of the Property Records Educational Partners; member of the Board of Directors of the Property Reorders Industry Association, Co-Chair of the Law Enforcement Collaborative, working with the FBI Mortgage and Land Fraud Task Force, a member of the Montgomery County Drug & Alcohol Planning Committee, the Northern Montco Technical Career Center Educational Opportunities Council, the North Penn School District Drug Free & Safe Schools Committee, the Towamencin Township Park and Recreation Advisory Council and Planning Commission, the American Society of Professional & Executive Women and the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Elected Officials & Clerks.
Nancy has also played a significant part in raising millions of dollars in grants and contributions for public causes.
She has also been deeply involved in the political process and the Montgomery County Republican Party:
Montgomery County Republican Women's Leadership (1994- Present)
Treasurer (2009 - Present)
Montgomery County Republican Committee Chairman's Club
Montgomery County Republican Committee Area 9 Vice Chairperson (1994-1998)

Republican State Committee (1996 to Present)
Republican Committee Woman, Towamencin Township 1-2 (1988 to Present)
Treasurer (1992-Present)
Republican Poll Worker (1971-Present)
Served on more than thirty (30) Republican campaign committees for Federal, State, County, and local candidates during thirty-two (32) years of Republican service

"Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about allowing people to catch up." (Marco Rubio)
There are very few politicians that have risen to national prominence as quickly as Marco Rubio. At age forty-one there is huge interest in and speculation about his political future. Will he be tapped by Mitt Romney to be his running mate? Will he run for President in 2016?
His story is detailed in his new book 'An American Son." Rubio is the son of parents who fled Cuba in the 1950's. Using the work ethic and tenacity instilled in him by his parents and grandfather, Rubio earned a law degree. As a young attorney he ran for the West Miami City Commission, a role that led to the Florida House of Representatives. In just six years he rose to Speaker of the House and became a leading advocate for free enterprise, better schools, limited government, and a fairer, simpler tax system. He found that he could connect with people across party lines while still upholding conservative values.
His U.S. Senate campaign started as an extreme long shot againstFlorida's popular incumbent governor, Charlie Crist. Rubio traveled the state with his message of empowerment and optimism. He upset Crist in both the primary and a dramatic three-way general election, after Crist quit the GOP to run as an independent.
Now Rubio speaks on the national stage about the challenges we face and the better future that's possible if we return to our founding principles. As he puts it , "Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about allowing people to catch up."
In that vision, as in his family's story, Rubio proves that the American Dream is still alive for those who pursue it.
Tickets are $25.00 and include a hard cover copy of his brand new book 'An American Son."

By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their 'civilization jihad' - a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.
Welcome to The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within - a 10-part, web-based video briefing that is designed to explain why and how this is happening.
It addresses a threat most Americans are unaware even exists within our country, let alone the degree of peril it represents. The threat is the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine its adherents call "shariah" and the organized, disciplined and increasingly successful efforts by such adherents-- most especially the Muslim Brotherhood-- to bring it here.
We are making this course available in the hope of encouraging, informing and broadening support for national efforts to defeat the insinuation into this country of shariah's anti-constitutional and seditious program.

Dinesh D'Souza - Obama & 2016
A Special Message from Americans United for Freedom Contributor KrisAnne Hall
Heading into the most important election of our lifetime, Barack Obama and a terrified Congress want to make sure angry Americans can never again gather en mass to change the course of history as we did with the 1.2 million member 912 March and the demonstrations that flipped Congress in 2010. No, our tyrannical politicians want to force you to stay home and shut up.
The protected right of the people peaceably to assemble is unalienable, something that has afforded deep fundamental and historical foundations to our freedom. Our Founders established a clear "no trespassing sign" via our First Amendment to keep the government away from this God-given right essential to Liberty. "Congress shall make no law abridging...the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." But new legislation has been passed in Congress that will destroy this absolutely central, simple and non-negotiable right imperative to a free people.
HR 347 and S 1794, the "Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011" has nothing to do with improving landscaping around federal buildings. This bill is being presented as a No Trespassing bill. Reasonable people understand that lawful restrictions and protections are needed for government officials and government functions. However, this legislation makes it a federal crime to allegedly DISRUPT the "ORDERLY CONDUCT" of government.
The violator doesn't have to be physically on the grounds where the government business is being conducted, just within the vicinity of the self-proclaimed "business of government." The law is not limited to buildings or locations as the title suggests, but seems to be "roving" and follows persons protected by Secret Service wherever they may go.
Standing on a sidewalk with a sign as a Congressman walks by? BUSTED
Traffic slowing to read your Tea Party signs? BUSTED
Make a statement at a town hall meeting that your Congressman doesn't like? BUSTED
1752(a)(2) knowingly, and with intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of government business or official functions, engages in disorderly or disruptive conduct in, or within such proximity to, any restricted building or grounds when, or so that, such conduct, in fact, impedes or disrupts the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions;
1752(a)(3) knowingly, and with the intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, obstructs or impedes ingress or egress to or from any restricted building or grounds;
1752(c)(1) the term 'restricted buildings or grounds' means any posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area - (B) of a building or grounds where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting; or C) of a building or grounds so restricted in conjunction with an event designated as a special event of national significance;
The right protected in the First Amendment is the right to peaceably assemble. We do not have the right to impede the flow of traffic, either on sidewalks or roadways. We do not have the right to impede anyone's business practices. But this law is not about private business, it is about government operations. Make that Big Brother Government Operations.
This Congress has a habit of writing in vague and overbroad terms; yet, in order for laws to be Constitutionally sound they CANNOT be vague and overbroad in ANY aspect, and they can ONLY interfere with the rights of the people in as narrow a capacity as both necessary and according with Constitutional principle. But this law makes it a crime to disrupt the government. The Supreme Court has said this type of broad language gives too much power to the government, and they have been saying this since 1939. This law actually places the desire of the government to be free from disruption unconstitutional power over the right of the people to redress the government of their grievances.
Suppose your Congressman, who is under Secret Service protection, has a town hall meeting and many members of the community show up to challenge him on his voting record. This law could be construed to allow federal charges to be brought against these citizens for disrupting his town hall meeting by attending and demanding to be heard under the First Amendment. After all, it will not be hard to claim that people who are not happy with the Congressman's voting record had the "intent" to disrupt this meeting. This vague and overbroad language has the potential to ultimately prevent people from gathering outside any government building or politician's function for fear of being charged with a federal offense. In Constitutional law, we call that a "chilling effect" and the Supreme Court has always held these restrictions to be unconstitutional. After all, who can afford to risk going to jail, to carry a record of federal arrest, to stand for their rights - even if they will win?
The right to orderly conduct of government is NOT a constitutionally protected right. However we DO have the right to free speech and the right to peaceably assemble. Our Constitution enshrines in government the fundamental principle of protection for our God-given, unalienable rights freely to speak and assemble. These rights of We the People are held as foundation stones of our individual Liberty and the government must protect these rights, not limit them. And throughout history, our Supreme Court has protected these rights.
Hague v. CID, 307 U.S. 496 (1939)
Boos v. Barry, 485 U.S. 312, 318 (1988)
United States v. Grace, 461 U.S. 171, 177 (1983)
Educ. Ass'n v. Perry Local Educators' Ass'n, 460 U.S. 37, (1983)
In every single case, the Court ruled that the people's First Amendment right to protest fundamentally outweighs the government's right to avoid uncomfortable situations at which politicians may be called to account for their actions.
People have the right to complain, the right to have their voices be heard, the right to redress their grievances in the form of protests. These actions are supposed to make the government take notice. Disruption cannot be the standard to stop speech. To allow the government to create this new standard allows the government to tell us to sit down and shut up.
The chilling effect occurs not in the fact that you are denied your due process. If you are arrested because of unlawful legislation you can fight the prosecution and even sue the government for violating your rights. If the Supreme Court has not become completely corrupted you have fairly good odds of winning. But, as anyone who has been wronged by a government agency can tell you, a victory will often come at the expense of a ruined life and livelihood.
The bottom line is that there are laws in every municipality that punish Trespass, Disorderly Conduct, Assault, and any other crime involving real threats against government and persons in government. Why do we need a vague and overbroad FEDERAL LAW to enforce laws that are already in effect, when that law could encroach on our God-given, protected rights? William Penn said, "Necessity, it is said, is the plea for every infringement of human Liberty; it is the argument of tyrants and the creed of slaves." Clearly, we don't need a "Federal Trespass Bill." We already have one; it's called the Bill of Rights!
When will we have enough of government intrusion on our Constitutionally protected rights? We were outraged because we are Taxed Enough Already. When will we recognize that if we cannot trust the government with our finances, then we certainly cannot trust the government with our Liberty?

The U.S. Constitution
A Reader
Featuring 113 primary source documents, The U.S. Constitution: A Reader was developed for teaching the core course on the U.S. Constitution at Hillsdale College.
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs.
Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012.

In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.

Our host team is working hard to deliver a day you won't forget. Plan on being there! Meet me and our growing team of professionals at the Dulles Airport Marriott on Saturday, August 18, 2012. Registration will start at 7:30 AM with the event starting at 8:30 AM and running through 5:00 PM.
Here are a few comments we have received from previous training seminars around the nation:
"...After 8 hours in that chair ............. I was ready for another 8 hours - it seemed to end too soon..."
"I was literally stunned. Wow! Brigitte Gabriel has assembled an incredible team to support her message of action and hope!"
"...As much as the issue depresses me, and I could cry every time I think about what is happening to the West, I left yesterday's conference energized and inspired. The day reminded me that I am *not* alone, after all, in trying to resist the dangerous absurdity of radical Islam that is being forced on us. I'm in desperate need of such reminders, as I'm sure most of us are. Whenever I'm close to despair, I remind myself of Brigitte's message. Thank you so much for this incredible training day!"
"...What an amazing seminar!"
"...I have never spent a better $45, 104 miles and 12 hours!" (Previous pricing for a similar event. We're wanting to involve as many as possible from this region, so for this event only, it's free!)

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

Morning Bell: How Radical Were Wisconsin's Reforms?
Mike Brownfield
May 31, 2012
One year ago, the state of Wisconsin adopted sweeping reforms that curbed collective bargaining rights among government workers, brought the state's pension system into line, and empowered those workers to choose whether or not to pay union dues. A firestorm of opposition erupted among public sector unions. But despite all the rhetoric, the reforms did not spell doomsday for government workers.
In a new paper, The Heritage Foundation's Jason Richwine and the American Enterprise Institute's Andrew Biggs analyzed Wisconsin's reforms and their impacts on the state's government workers. They found that even after requiring them to make larger contributions to their pensions and health benefits, Wisconsin government workers are still overpaid when compared to private-sector workers with similar levels of education and experience. Richwine explains:
Eric Holder Wants One Law for Whites and Another for 'Non-Whites'
posted on by Gary DeMar
Attorney General Eric Holder spoke to a gathering of black church leaders on Wednesday in Washington, D.C., where he told them that voting is a "sacred" right. Where's the ACLU? Americans United for Separation of Church and State? Sounds like "theocracy" and "dominionism" to me. Where's Michelle Goldberg? Wasn't the Attorney General trampling on the First Amendment by mixing religion and politics?
The whole separation of church and state thing is a one way street. It's only OK for liberals to make appearances before church leaders and speak about a "sacred" right.
It's too bad that conservative church leaders are intimidated by the claims of liberals and organizations like the ACLU and Americans United. It's more likely, however, that pastors use the "separation of church and state" myth as an excuse not to speak on political issues, thereby giving liberals free reign to recruit among religious adherents with no blowback from groups the ACLU and Americans United.
Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center appwill, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.
It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on.
Today the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology is examining a dangerous international attempt to regulate and tax the Internet.
Several hostile countries are pursuing the expansion of a 1988 International Telecommunication Regulation (ITR) Treaty under the auspices of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency within the United Nations. Their preferred venue for this back-door power play is the December 2012 World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT) in Dubai.
This morning's hearing will be watched with great interest around the world as everyone looks to see what the United States says about surrendering exclusive inter-governmental policy controls over things like network governance, technical standards, domain names, content controls, access taxes, cybersecurity and more.
Having seen Mitt Romney, build a lead among the critical Independent voters and veterans, close the gender gap and improve his favorable ratings while the recently restarted Obama reelection campaign stumbles badly out of the gate. And as hid campaign suffers from the Democrats' Bain mutiny and a campaign spokesman who bears false witness, Obama decides to continue his negative feedback loop by attempting to trash Romney's gubernatorial record.
That now seems to be the Obamacrats standard operating procedure. The first thing they do is go negative and try to demonize their opponents rather than stand on their record.
I am going to try to avoid too much hyperbole and sarcasm for this one; this is one time where the situation requires neither. When Scott Walker and other Republicans instituted labor union reforms in 2009, one of the basic planks of such reforms - the one that was quietly and viciously fought, tooth and nail, by the unions - was removal of mandatory dues collection for public sector union employees. In fact, from the union leaderships' point of view this was THE reform that needed to be killed; if the Republicans had compromised on it then there probably wouldn't have been a Wisconsin recall movement at all. But Walker and the Republicans didn't compromise... and what was the result?
In a rational world, the Federal government would act as a motivated lease owner who was interested in promoting the safe and environmentally responsible development of his mineral resource, consistent with sound conservation practice. That's why there's a permit process in the first place.
Since Macondo, that's backwards. Operating practices must conform to the permitting process that has, um, evolved in a purely political environment: practical considerations, economics and common sense be damned. And while the politicians proclaim a concern for production levels, product prices and jobs, their actions and policies tell another story.
The top spokesman for Colorado Democrats told a local paper that both parties in the state engaged in financing activities that resembled money laundering. In an interview with the Colorado Independent, Matt Inzeo, the communications director for the Colorado Democratic Party, said, "In most other lines of work, moving money from committee to committee and finally using a brand new committee no one has heard of to buy the ads would be called money laundering."

2 American tourists kidnapped in Egyptian Sinai
May 31, 2012
Two American tourists were kidnapped by armed men in the Sinai peninsula early Thursday, Egyptian security sources said.
Jonathan Shizarlasky and Carter Brabon were kidnapped in the Red Sea city of Nuweiba.
The two US citizens were seized at gunpoint from a car near the Hilton hotel and taken to a mountainous area, security sources said.
"There are negotiations now between the security forces and the armed gunmen to release the tourists," a police source said, adding the Bedouin were seeking the release of one of their tribe who has been jailed in a drugs case.
"They need to know that conquest is coming, that Egypt will be Islamic, and that they must pay jizya or emigrate," Morsi reportedly said.
According to the popular Egyptian website, El Bashayer, Muhammad Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate, just declared that he will "achieve the Islamic conquest (fath) of Egypt for the second time, and make all Christians convert to Islam, or else pay the jizya," the additional Islamic tax, or financial tribute, required of non-Muslims, or financial tribute.
In a brief report written by Samuel al-Ashay and published by El Bashayer on May 27, Morsi allegedly made these comments while speaking with a journalist at the headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party, adding "We will not allow Ahmed Shafiq [his contending presidential candidate] or anyone else to impede our second Islamic conquest of Egypt."
After his interviewer pointed out that the first Muslim conquest of Egypt was "carried out at the hands of Amr bin al-As [in 641]," he asked Morsi, "Who will the second Islamic conqueror be?" Morsi, replied, "The second Muslim conqueror will be Muhammad Morsi," referring to himself, "and history will record it."

Last week's talks in Baghdad between Iran and the P5-plus-1 - the United States, Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia - yielded no agreement. Paradoxically, however, both Washington and Tehran are likely to view the negotiations as successful, but for vastly different reasons.
There is an interest that both Iran and the United States hold in common: staving off military action, whether by the U.S. or Israel. From there, however, U.S. and Iranian motivations diverge; understanding this divergence is key to understanding why the talks thus far have failed.

Sadly, that is exactly what happened to one pastor up in Wisconsin recently. Please note that Caminiti was not accused of spanking anyone or of physically hurting anyone.

It is EPA rules that most gravely threaten our energy, economy, health, welfare, justice, and civil rights progress

Liberals who favor global government over American sovereignty, such as Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, and Indiana Senator Richard Lugar, who just lost the Senate seat he's held for 34 years in a primary, are once again pushing this terrible treaty that will hand control of our international waters over to the United Nations. Those pushing the treaty claim that it will expand U.S. sovereignty, but we all know it will do the opposite. The three main interest groups pushing for the treaty are the U.S. Navy, the big multinational oil companies led by Shell, and the radical environmentalist lawyers. That peculiar alliance should make you suspicious! Here are the facts:
Memorial Day was established by General John Logan on May 5, 1868, and was observed for the first time on May 30, 1868. They placed flowers on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. Ironically, the first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873.
The respected black commentator and philosopher Thomas Sowell has described the growing toll of black-on-white violence as a race war. I would take issue with that only because "war" implies a level of organization that supersedes that of the flash mobs. Most of the riot organizers have moved on to cozier job titles, like Al Sharpton, who has gone from organizing riots and boycotts to holding down a desk at MSNBC and serving as the unofficial White House liaison to the black community. The old riots were usually a combination of organized protest and opportunistic violence. The organized riot is on the decline, but the opportunistic violence is still very much with us.
Famed TV minster Bishop T. D. Jakes said when your "perception is off", you do not realize or appreciate the true value of what you have until you have lost it. Is it fair to say that, in general, black America's perception is off regarding their country which is, in reality, a tremendous gift from God? Some may think me insane for suggesting that it was a blessing for my ancestors to be betrayed by fellow blacks, sold to white slave traders, separated from their families and shipped to a strange land to be slaves. But please, hear me out.
Each century brings forth its own patriots. Once upon a time we had Patrick Henry, today we have Senator Patrick Leahy, who declared in the Senate that his opposition to an amendment that would distinguish how much of the UNRWA's funding goes to actual refugees versus fake refugees was a patriotic act.
"Refugee Camp"
"I always look at what is in the United States' interest first and foremost, and this would hurt the United States' interests," Senator Leahy stated firmly. It is of course difficult to find as compelling a national interest as the UNRWA, a refugee agency created exclusively for the benefit of five million Arabs, approximately 30,000 of whom are actual refugees, but all of whom hate the United States.
Senator Leahy, who could not discover a national interest in the Balanced Budget Amendment, drilling for oil in ANWR or detaining Muslim terrorists, all of which he voted against; finally discovered a binding national interest 5,500 miles away in Jordan, where "refugee camps" like Baqa'a (pop. 80,000), which are virtually indistinguishable from local towns and cities, complete with block after block of residential homes, stores and markets, multi-story office buildings, schools, hospitals and assorted infrastructure, must not be looked at too closely.
As a city which will soon celebrate its 50 year anniversary, Baqa'a is older than many modern Israeli cities and is as much a refugee camp as any of them. The only difference between Baqa'a and Ariel, is that no one in Baqa'a does anything for themselves because they are all eternal refugees with an entire UN agency dedicated to wiping their bottoms for them. A unique and singular honor in a world full of authentic refugees who have been driven out by rape squads and genocide, without getting their own minders in blue.
Senator Mark Kirk's heretical proposal to begin reforming the UNRWA by distinguishing between people who could have some claim on being refugees from the vast majority who cannot, met with Leahy's declaration that; "Frankly, Mr. Chairman, as a member of this committee, I always look at what is in the United States' interest first and foremost, and this would hurt the United States' interests."
Bang for your buck: that's what the Freedom Center provides. Ammunition for the culture war against the Left: that's what your contribution buys. So please act now and help us in the fight we are waging on many fronts for America's future. America is under assault from within and without. There is no time to lose.
An Israeli team has made medical history with its ability to transform skin stem cells from heart-disease patients into healthy heart tissue.

The Israeli team transformed stem cells into cardiomyocytes.
Be still your beating hearts: Making medical history, scientists from Israel have been able to transform human stem cells from older diseased patients into brand-new, healthy, beating heart tissue.
This could mean that heart disease might someday be repaired by using cells from a person's own body, eliminating the need for risky surgical implants and transplants.
Using stem-cell technology, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology researchers from Haifa showed that their lab-produced cardiac muscle cells are also capable of merging into existing heart muscles.
Calling President Barack Obama an "amateur" on foreign policy, Rep. Allen West is blasting the administration for failing to secure the release of a Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA hunt down Osama bin Laden.
West (R-Fla.) said Tuesday about Dr. Shakil Afridi that that the United States was wrong to "hang him out to dry," arguing that after bin Laden was identified and killed, the doctor and his family should have been taken out of Pakistan to ensure their safety.
"It kind of shows the amateur nature of this administration and President Obama in talking too much about this operation and enabling the Pakistanis to listen carefully to some of the words and verbiage he was using and they were able to back trace it and put the pieces together on their side," West told Greta Van Susteren of Fox News.

The Commerce Department's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) published a notice regarding a petition it received on January 11, 2012 from the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), requesting formal designation of Arab-Americans as a minority group that is socially or economically disadvantaged.
The formal designation of the Arab-American community as a group that is socially or economically disadvantaged would allow the members of this community to receive assistance from MBDA funded programs, such as the MBDA Business Center program.

House defeats bill to ban gender-based abortions
Published May 31, 2012

A bill that would ban sex-selective abortions failed to muster enough support to pass the House Thursday following a contentious debate.
The final vote was 246-168. Though a majority voted in favor of the bill, this particular proposal required a two-thirds majority to pass -- supporters of the bill fell 30 votes short.
The proposal would have made it a federal crime to carry out an abortion based on the gender of the fetus. The measure takes aim at the aborting of female fetuses, a practice more common to countries such India and China, where there is a strong preference for sons, but which is also thought to take place in the U.S.
We had the numbers...just not enough to win. The final vote was 246-168.Though a majority voted in favor of the bill, this particular proposal required a two-thirds majority to pass -- supporters of the bill fell 30 votes short.

President Obama and his wife, the health nanny in chief, obviously don't know when they've gone too far in their crusade to socialize and Obamatize America.
They couldn't stop pushing for the Obamacare mandate that would force religious organizations to pay for coverage of abortion-inducing drugs, contraception and sterilization for their employees regardless of the institution's moral or religious objections.
Now the Obamas are sorry. They've awakened the sleeping giant -- the Catholic Church. And they're going to pay the political price.
Last week the University of Notre Dame and 42 other Catholic institutions sued the administration to overturn the mandate, which would also apply to all employees of a church's social services, such as schools, hospitals and food banks.
It's not just a bureaucratic fight over who Barack and Michelle think should be forced to provide contraception for their employees -- without fees or co-pays.
The mandate is an attack on the First Amendment's protection against federal meddling in religion. As Notre Dame President Father John Jenkins wrote, what's at issue is the freedom of a religious organization to "live its mission."

The Real Threat To Obama's Re-Election By Tony Quinn CAPoliticalReview.com
Could the coming European financial crisis doom President Obama? That's a question that seems worth asking after a ten day trip to Europe this month. On June 17, voters in Greece will attempt to form a stable government; they will probably fail and Greece could be forced to leave the common European currency known as the Euro. If that happened, the Euro itself might come apart, setting off a worldwide banking panic with monumental political impacts.

Narcissism and Tyranny -- The Consequence of Executive Egocentrism
Self Service Masquerading as Public Service
"He that falls in love with himself will have no rivals." --Benjamin Franklin, 1758
(Editor's Note: Your Patriot team rolled out our new homepage this week. While the appearance changes will be obvious, there are also numerous technological upgrades. One key improvement is that reader comments are now "threaded," which promotes meaningful dialog between fellow Patriots nationwide.)
Paraphrasing the ancient Chinese warrior Sun Tzu: To defeat your opponent you must know your opponent and know yourself.
If our generation of Patriots is to succeed in our mandate to extend the blessings of American Liberty to our posterity, then we must both know the depth of our devotion to Liberty and understand its enemies. Indeed, we must fully comprehend those adversaries beyond topical categorization by political and other affiliations.
Our nation was founded by Patriots who devoted their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to Liberty for all. They truly understood the nature of "public service" as opposed to "self service," the former defined as the giving of oneself for the greater good as opposed to the latter defined as the taking for oneself to the detriment of anyone or anything else.
In our Republican context of governance, the spirit of public service was and remains essential for the advancement of Liberty, while the consequence of self-service has always been irrevocably linked to tyranny.
Our generation of Patriots understands this distinction, and we are steadfast in our fidelity to the higher calling of Liberty. However, this fraternity of dedicated Patriots has always been, and will likely always be, in the minority -- which is to say we must each resolve to give our all. As often noted, Samuel Adams wrote, "It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."
In the generations since our founding, Liberty has suffered excessive insult by the rise of men who, under the banner of "public service," are motivated principally by self service -- and the greater the drive toward self service, the greater the threat to Liberty.
Recent history records the ascension of politicians who were incontrovertibly motivated by self service masquerading as public service -- Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Albert Gore, John Kerry and John Edwards, to name a few. All of these men share tragic family histories, which indelibly imprinted them from birth. Each also has a common diagnosis for his behavior: Narcissistic Pathology Disorder (NPD).
Understanding this pathology is key to defeating our opponents who manifest it.
By definition, narcissists are deeply insecure and, consequently, have an unrelenting need to be admired by others. Their low self-esteem is often imprinted from early childhood, and for many it is associated with ineffective fathering or worse, parental abandonment. Narcissists have a grandiose sense of self and of entitlement, and they have an excessive dependence upon others for self-definition and self-esteem regulation. Though they may project an image of great confidence, it is nothing more than arrogance pretending to be confidence in a cover-up of their insecurity.
I certainly would not suggest that all children with tragic family histories are destined to develop NPD. But executive offices in both the private and public sector are frequently occupied by those driven by narcissistic pathology, those whose motivation to achieve is characterized by a lust for power and avarice, rooted in broken self esteem and the resulting obsessive need to be accepted by others.
The most malignant form of narcissism is accompanied by intelligence and charisma, which enables the deception of others in order to secure positions of power and influence.
No executive in American history has provided a more textbook archetypal case study of Narcissistic Pathology Disorder than Barack Hussein Obama, who embodied the pathology of the Left and successfully deceived the masses with his intelligence and charisma. Notably, he unwittingly outlined this deception in his second autobiographical book, "The Audacity of Hope," writing, "I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views."
To confirm that assertion, one needs look no further than his official White House biography, which begins, "His story is the American story -- values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family..." There is no doubt that Obama wanted, and indeed deserved, that upbringing, but to assert that he had it could not be further from the truth.
And to further confirm the audacity of Obama's narcissism, we need only examine his adulteration of the official White House Historical Association biographies of prior presidents, where Obama has inserted his name and some related "achievement" into the historic narratives of presidents dating back to Calvin Coolidge.
For example, the "Did You Know?" section at the end of Coolidge's bio has been altered to read, "On Feb. 22, 1924 Calvin Coolidge became the first president to make a public radio address to the American people. President Coolidge later helped create the Federal Radio Commission, which has now evolved to become the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). President Obama became the first president to hold virtual gatherings and town halls using Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc."
See if you can spot the impostor in these other presidential bios:
"On August 14, 1935, President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Today the Obama Administration continues to protect seniors and ensure Social Security will be there for future generations."
"President John F. Kennedy famously suggested the American people: 'Ask what you can do for your country.' In 1961, the Peace Corps was created, facilitating service among citizens working toward peace in developing countries. In 2011, President Obama celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps with a Presidential Proclamation."
"In 1973, Richard Nixon created The President's Export Council, which was expanded and reconstituted under President Jimmy Carter in 1979. Today the PEC continues to work towards reaching President Obama's goal of doubling the nation's exports by 2014's end."
"President Reagan designated Martin Luther King Jr. Day a national holiday; today the Obama Administration honors this tradition, with the First and Second Families participating in service projects on this day. In a June 28, 1985 speech Reagan called for a fairer tax code, one where a multi-millionaire did not have a lower tax rate than his secretary. Today, President Obama is calling for the same with the Buffett Rule."
"In 2002, President George W. Bush's State of the Union was the first to be live broadcast on the Internet. In 2011 and 2012, President Obama's State of the Union speeches were available in an enhanced live stream version that featured infographics, charts and data side-by-side in real time with the President's speech."
Of this audacious adulteration, Ronald Reagan's former Attorney General, Ed Meese, concludes, "What they have done is to spoil the integrity of the historical narrative."
In advance of the 2012 election, Obama has framed his tenure in office as "public service." But he is pathologically incapable of serving the public ahead of himself. In order to spoil the integrity of his narrative, we must fully understand his unmitigated narcissism and thoroughly expose the grave threat that his self-interest poses to Essential Liberty.
Pro Deo et Constitutione - Libertas aut Mors Semper Vigilo, Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis
A Florida judge, credited with making crucial rulings in the contested 2000 Bush v. Gore presidential election, has scheduled a hearing for attorneys representing the White House to support their claim that the term "natural born citizen" in the U.S. Constitution means something other than the offspring of two American citizens.

Bilderbergers, those high-level leaders in finance and government who are invited inside the shadowy meeting rooms of the elite group, ran - or rather were chauffeured through - a gauntlet of protesters today as the annual meetings of the secretive group got under way.
Dr. Jerome Corsi, author of the best-selling "Where's the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama is Not Eligible to be President," is scheduled to appear today on former N.Y. Gov. David Paterson's WOR New York radio program.
The invitation for Corsi to appear came after Paterson stirred up a hornet's nest by suggesting Barack Obama could be ineligible for the Oval Office and "got away" with it.
Corsi says he can sum up the issue for Patterson in one word - "the rest is irrelevant."
A Madrid-based investigative journalist who has spent years researching the Bilderberg group - that shadowy organization of high-level leaders in finance and government - is warning that there's no "conspiracy theory" behind the group: "It's a conspiracy reality."
"Bilderberg is not a bogeyman. But it is a powerful organization," says Daniel Estulin, author of "The True Story of the Bilderberg Group." It's a medium for bringing together financial institutions - the largest, predatory institutions in the world - which acts in ways that are now the worst enemy of society."

Exclusive: Meet Dustin Boyer, the Mystery Man Who Defended San Francisco from Occupy Violence
by Joel B. Pollak
He stood up, single-handed and unarmed, against a violent Occupy Wall Street mob. He followed hundreds of masked Black Bloc thugs for six city blocks, yelling at them to stop smashing car windows and storefronts. He's a former Google employee with a day job in real estate who runs his own innovativetaco delivery business. He's been hailed as a "hipster hero" by residents desperate for someone--anyone--to stand up to the madness after months of politically protected mayhem. Until now, he's been known merely as "the guy that loves his neighborhood." Meet Dustin Boyer, the guy who saved San Francisco.
On the eve of May 1--the infamous May Day Riot--the Black Bloc mob had paraded along Valencia Street through the heart of San Francisco's mission district, shouting slogans, ripping up street signs, throwing newspaper racks into the street--and even attacking police cars in a giddy frenzy of destruction.

It's None of The Government's Business
by Phyllis Schlafly
May 30, 2012
What is it about bureaucrats and school personnel that they want to pry into the personal life and habits of American citizens of every age? There seems to be no end to the imperial demands by government and schools to require both grownups and kids to reveal personal information.
The use of nosy questionnaires by the public schools has been a bone of contention between schools and parents for years, but New Jersey recently came up with a question that has parents up in arms. Third-graders were asked on a standardized test to reveal a secret about their lives and explain why it is hard to keep.
This question was asked of 4,000 third-graders in an official test called the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge. This test is supposed to judge elementary school students on their proficiency in math and language arts and determine whether or not a student ends up in basic skills classes.
The school wasn't eager to answer parents' questions such as, What if a kid answered "my dad smokes marijuana" or "my mom drank a beer while driving me home"? Would the school report that to the "child protective" agency?
Upon his investigation a Canadian journalist has concluded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi submitted TWO DIFFERENT DNC documents attesting and/or pertaining to the eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama in 2008. The Canada Free Press', JB WIlliams, obtained the two separate documents "prepared by Democrats to certify Barack Obama as their nominee for president in 2008 that suggest House Speaker Nancy Pelosi knew there was an unresolved issue with his [Obama'] eligibility under the U.S. Constitution."
The first verification contains the legal language stating both Obama and Joe Biden "are legally qualified to serve under the provision of the U.S. Constitution." Nevertheless, the second document which was submitted to all fifty states "was missing the text CONCERNING THE ELIGIBILITY of Barack Hussein Obama." (emphasis added) (*). While a same tell tale typo is in both of these official documents Pelosi signed off on, the actual legal language that Obama had eligibility ... Southern women scattered spring flowers on the graves of both the Northern and Southern soldiers who died during the Civil War. This was the origin of Memorial Day, which in 1868 was set on MAY 30. In 1968, it was moved to the last Monday in May. From the Spanish-American War, to World Wars I and II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, War against Islamic Terror, up through the present, all who gave their lives to preserve America's freedom are honored on Memorial Day. Beginning in 1921, the tradition has been for Presidents to lay a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is guarded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The number 21 being the highest salute, the sentry takes 21 steps, faces the tomb for 21 seconds, turns and pauses 21 seconds, then retraces his steps. Inscribed on the Tomb is the phrase: "HERE RESTS IN HONORED ... Continue Reading:American Minute May 30
I'm watching Fox News Sunday this Memorial Day listening to the great "Progressive" icon of the right, Senator John McCain, whine about the failure of America to protect some Middle East terrorists from other Middle East terrorists in Syria. Following up his disgraceful support, (along with that of S.of S. Hillary Clinton and President barack Obama), of the Muslim Brotherhood takeovers in Libya and Egypt, he is near apoplectic in our failure to fight terrorist's battles for them.
I would like to ask this great "Progressive" icon of the right, Senator John McCain, what our upside has been in Libya and Egypt? We are now funding our avowed enemies, an organization dedicated to destroying America from both within and without. We are still giving over a billion dollars a year to Egypt. We give hundreds of millions of dollars to the PLO.
ACRU Asks Supreme Court to Overturn University of Texas Racial Discrimination Policy
May 30 -- The American Civil Rights Union (ACRU), in a brief filed today at the U.S. Supreme Court, asks the Court to overturn a ruling against Abigail Fisher, a white woman denied admission to the University of Texas in 2008 because of her race. Ms. Fisher had superior academic credentials to others who were admitted partly on the basis of race, thus violating her right to equal protection under the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution, the brief argues.
In Abigail Noel Fisher et al v. University of Texas at Austin, et al, the ACRU argues that race-based admission policies actually can hurt their intended beneficiaries, and discriminate against whites and some minorities, such as Asian-Americans. The brief, written by ACRU General Counsel Peter Ferrara, also notes that an increase in minority admissions has eclipsed any need for racial balance policies at the university. Minority admissions soared after the state adopted a law requiring the university to accept anyone who scored academically in the top 10% of their schools.
"Indeed, by 2008 African-American and Hispanic students accounted for 25.5% of the incoming freshmen class, up from 16.2% in 1998, almost all due to the race neutral Top 10% Law that dominates admissions at UT," the brief states.

Our nation is rapidly approaching a point from which there's little chance to avoid a financial collapse. The heart of our problem can be seen as a tragedy of the commons. That's a set of circumstances when something is commonly owned and individuals acting rationally in their own self-interest produce a set of results that's inimical to everyone's long-term interest. Let's look at an example of the tragedy of the commons phenomenon and then apply it to our national problem.
Imagine there are 100 cattlemen all having an equal right to graze their herds on 1,000 acres of commonly owned grassland. The rational self-interested response of each cattleman is to have the largest herd that he can afford. Each cattleman pursuing similar self-interests will produce results not in any of the cattlemen's long-term interest -- overgrazing, soil erosion and destruction of the land's usefulness. Even if they all recognize the dangers, does it pay for any one cattleman to cut the size of his herd? The short answer is no because he would bear the cost of having a smaller herd while the other cattlemen gain at his expense. In the long term, they all lose because the land will be overgrazed and made useless.
This column by ACRU General Counsel and Senior Fellow for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published May 30, 2012 on The American Spectator website.
Obama campaign operative Rex Nutting surprised a lot of people with an article on the Wall Street Journal's MarketWatch website claiming that the "Obama Spending Binge Never Happened." Adding a new chapter to Aesop's Fables, Nutting fantasized that "under Obama, federal spending is rising at the slowest pace since Dwight Eisenhower brought the Korean War to an end in the 1950s."
Just like if Jack in the Beanstalk and the Jolly Green Giant both eat the same feast, the percentage weight gain for the Giant will be so much smaller than for Jack. Or as the Journal's editorial page explained it in its weekend May 26-27 edition, "This is like an alcoholic claiming that his rate of drinking has slowed because he had only 22 beers today and 25 beers yesterday."
Nutting does not offer evidence in his article that he has any idea what he is talking about. But he seems to have been fed some storyline by Nancy Pelosi, who is to Sarah Palin what Dorothy's Strawman was to Sherlock Holmes.

When reality bites, you can either try to change reality or create your own.
Barack Obama claims he has presided over trillions of dollars in spending cuts. If he's a fiscal conservative, then I'm a forward "enforcer" for an NBA playoff team.
The president, who has increased the national debt by $5 trillion - more than all previous presidents combined - points to a nutty study by a journalist named Rex Nutting, whose virtual math asserts that Mr. Obama is an advocate for small government.
Mr. Obama has unrolled this meme on the campaign trail. He told a crowd at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Thursday that the Republican plan to extend the George W. Bush tax cuts is "like trying to put out a prairie fire with some gasoline."
Tea Party Wave Could Carry Texas Senate Seat for Ted Cruz
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published May 25, 2012 on Breitbart.com.
Constantly underestimated by the Republican establishment, the Tea Party continues to prove its power in GOP primaries. First Indiana, then Nebraska. And now new polls show rising conservative star Ted Cruz potentially poised to beat ultra-wealthy Lt. Governor David Dewhurst for the open U.S. Senate seat in Texas in a classic David v. Goliath match-up.
Ted Cruz's bio looks like he's a character from a script for an "only in America" movie story. A Hispanic, he was born to a Cuban father who was imprisoned by Fidel Castro for opposing the communist dictator's tyranny, who escaped when Ted's grandfather bribed a guard to release him. Ted's grandmother sewed $300 into his father's underwear and he sailed for Florida. Ted's dad was a dishwasher who worked seven days a week and married Ted's mother. They started a business and later Ted's father became a Baptist pastor where he continues to labor today.
This speech by ACRU Senior Fellow Ken Blackwell was delivered May 24, 2012 to the American Religious Freedom Program Conference.
Good afternoon. It is good to be with so many like-minded men and women, people who are committed to defending our most essential freedom - religious liberty.
We tend naturally to focus on religious freedom issues that rise to the national level. Those cases that come before the Supreme Court rank high in public interest and command the attention of the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and other giants of the main-stream media.
One of the most unprecedented and ominous assaults on religious freedom is the proposed Health and Human Services contraception mandate. As I have written in a variety of opinion pieces, there has been nothing comparable to this in 225 years in this country. There is truly no precedent for the threat embodied in the HHS Mandate.
Florida Family Association will fly two planes to warn unsuspecting families about Gay Day at Disney.
Florida Family Association will fly two planes to warn unsuspecting families about Gay Day at Disney which is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. A special thanks to Florida Family Association supporters who generously donated $12,802.37 designated just for this project.
Florida Family Association has received many, many letters and emails from people across the country who patronized Disney World in Orlando to find themselves in the middle of one of the annual Gay Days at Disney. The most recent letter we received was from Willis in Sarasota who wrote "Just a note to let you know that about 18 years ago my wife and I and our 2 year old granddaughter were at Disney World when it was 'Gay Day.' It was the most deplorable sight that we ever saw. I thank you so much for the vision of the airplane banner warning people."
We want to warn families before they expose their children to Gay Day's same-sex revelry, before they pay money to Disney for parking, admission, novelties and food. We also want to send a message that Gay Day's public promotion of homosexuality to a captured audience inside the park is wrong.
Last year Florida Family Association hired an aircraft company to pull a banner for ten hours the day before Gay Day and ten hours the day of to warn these families about this offensive event before they arrived on Saturday. Thanks to the generous gifts of numerous supporters our banner influenced mainstream family attendance at Disney during Gay Day to drop close to 50%. This warning to families spared tens of thousands of children from the unexpected exposure to this coming out party.
The Orlando Sentinel published a news report on this project titled Battling banners will fly over Disney for Gay Days. The article stated in part "David Caton, the group's executive director, said the goal is to warn tourists that 'this is not the day to take your children to Disney if you're expecting a normal day.'" We are thankful for the Orlando Sentinel giving Florida Family Association's position on this project fair treatment unlike the Fox News station in Orlando. The article also reports that a newly formed LGBT group
Florida Family Association will fly two planes for ten hours on Friday, June 1st from 9 am to 8 pm the day before Gay Day at Disney. Friday is the most critical day because of the large number of people arriving in Orlando and planning their weekend. Additionally, two planes will help attract media attention the day before the event. We will also fly one plane for ten hours on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm during Gay Day.
Only designated gifts over and above Florida Family Association's operating budget were used to fund this project. A special thanks to everyone who gave generously to this project.

If you would like to send our prepared email urging Disney officials not to allow Gay Day to occur during normal operating hours when unsuspecting families are a captured audience in the park click here.
The Power of No by Jennifer Marshall, Director of DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society
The right to say no is a powerful force in America's history.
Government may not compel conscience. Pacifists can conscientiously object to military service. Students cannot be forced to pledge allegiance to the flag.
The power of no launched America. Some dissenters from the Church of England crossed an ocean to worship, raise children and form communities freely according to the dictates of conscience.
Four hundred years later, the right to say no to government is in peril. Religious groups have been forced to go to court to ensure the federal government will let their no be no. They seek, simply, to protect the religious freedom that all Americans have enjoyed to this point.
On May 21, 43 Catholic groups joined 12 lawsuits against the Obama administration. They're protesting a mandate under the new health care law that forces employers to provide insurance coverage for contraception and sterilization-regardless of religious objections.
The lawsuits come after repeated appeals to the administration since last August by Catholic, Lutheran, evangelical and Jewish groups, among others, urging respect for religious liberty as it begins to implement the massive health care law.
But the religious exemption in the final mandate for women's preventive services issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is far too narrow. To opt out of the mandated coverage, a religious group must hire and serve primarily those of its own faith. (Picture a volunteer at a soup kitchen asking a homeless man with outstretched hands: "Excuse me, but are you Catholic?")
The University of Notre Dame joined dozens of groups that filed similar suits earlier this year, including three evangelical educational institutions-Colorado Christian College, Geneva College and Louisiana College-particularly objecting to HHS requiring coverage of abortion drugs.
These schools believe in the protection of human life from conception. They should not be forced to sponsor health plans that offer the morning-after pill and Ella, a drug that can terminate a pregnancy days after fertilization.
This 'conscience tax' is a blatant violation of the freedoms of religion and speech guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and affirmed by federal laws such as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This mandate would be unjust even if it applied only to those who accept government funding, but it does much more than that. It applies to private, religious employers just because they exist in American society, regardless of whether they receive government funding.
The administration has talked a lot about providing an "accommodation" for religious groups. Sadly, that hasn't found its way into actual policy. The policy that has the force of law today is the same one that even some of the president's supporters-such as columnist E.J. Dionne-found objectionable in January. Everything else has been only talk and hypothetical proposals.
Religious freedom has limits when it comes to serious issues concerning health, safety and welfare. No doubt hard cases will continue to emerge at the margins of the religious liberty debate. This is not one of them.
The religious liberty principle at stake in the conflict over the HHS mandate is central to the First Amendment of the Constitution and to America's earliest purposes. It is the right-and responsibility-to say no to an overbearing government that disregards conscience.

Top Five Ways Obamacare Crushes the Middle Class
President Obama has repeatedly claimed that he is "going to keep on fighting for what matters to middle class families." Well, in this "fight," the President seems to be his own worst enemy. His health care law does far more damage than good to the American middle class.
Here are the five most prevalent and harmful burdens the middle class will be forced to bear under Obamacare:
More taxes. Obamacare imposes $502 billion of new or increased taxes and fees. Heritage expert Curtis Dubay explains that several of the taxes "will ultimately be passed on to [middle-income families] through higher prices. These include the fees on medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and health insurance companies and the new tax on tanning services." The middle class will also be burdened by the individual mandate to purchase insurance, new restrictions and limits on their tax-free health and flex savings accounts, and a new tax on high-cost (Cadillac) health plans.
Loss of existing coverage. As many as 35 million people could lose their existing coverage because of Obamacare. This is because Obamacare creates financial incentives for employers to drop coverage for their employees.
Higher premiums. Americans who purchase coverage in the new Obamacare exchanges will find that health insurance is still very expensive. American Enterprise Institute resident scholar Scott Gottlieb, MD, explains, "For a family of four, premiums on even one of the lower priced 'silver' options could still cost more than $15,000 annually on the exchanges."
Rising health care costs. As premiums and overall health care costs continue to rise, middle-class families, including those receiving a subsidy, will be left paying more. Beginning in 2019, Obamacare's cost-containment strategy for the exchanges is to hold the total cost of the subsidies to 0.504 percent of GDP. Charles Blahous, a Medicare trustee, concludes that "this limitation would likely cause the federal subsidies to grow less rapidly over the long term than the cost of health care and thus require low-income individuals in the exchanges to shoulder a steadily increasing percentage of their health costs."
More government control of health care. Obamacare transfers massive authority over to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and expands the role of government in delivering care and coverage. This huge expansion of government's role in health means that, by 2020, more than half of all Americans will be dependent on the federal government for health care and government bureaucrats will be in charge of deciding what you can and cannot buy.
If President Obama is serious about "fighting for what matters to middle class families," he should start by repealing his own health care law.

WORLDNETDAILY - Editor's note: Most Americans remember Jeremiah Denton from an extraordinary ABC News broadcast in 1966 during the Vietnam War. A Navy A-6 Intruder pilot, Denton had been shot down over North Vietnam and imprisoned as a POW in the infamous "Hanoi Hilton." After being repeatedly tortured to persuade him to speak against the U.S., he was forced to participate in an internationally televised interview intended as a propaganda showcase featuring his forced "confession."... Former Obama ally and Dem congressman Davis switches to GOP
Published May 31, 2012
FoxNews.com
Former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis is switching sides, abandoning his former ally President Obama to become a Republican -- lamenting that the country has "gone backward" since Obama took office.
Davis is making the announcement in the run-up to a possible congressional comeback in Virginia, though he says he has not yet made up his mind whether he'll challenge Democratic incumbent Rep. Gerry Connolly. He used to represent Alabama.
In an interview with Fox News on Thursday, Davis explained the rationale behind his switch. He said he "took inventory" and decided "what we're doing is not working."
Davis said the government's policies are "counterproductive," suggested businesses were hurting and described economic growth as stagnant.
COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 159 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS
Trouble For Obama
The latest data on the economy must have the Obama White House reaching for the Maalox. For example:
The ADP jobs report showed just 133,000 jobs were created, below the expected number, 150,000.
First quarter GDP was revised down from 2.2% to 1.9%, meaning the economy was growing at a slower pace in the first three months of the year than was originally thought.
While economists were predicting no change in weekly jobless claims, they actually jumped 13,000 from last week's figures, to 383,000. But as we and others have noted, these government figures are increasingly suspect.
The housing market continues to remain weak as foreclosures accounted for more than a quarter of sales in the first quarter of the year. While it is good that these homes are selling, the large number of foreclosures means that home values remain depressed.
And earlier this week, it was reported that the consumer confidence index fell to 64.9 when economists had expected an uptick to 70. A reading of 90 or higher indicates a strong economy. But as Investor's Business Daily commented, "Throughout Obama's 'recovery,' the index has averaged 57."
Clearly, the voters have lost hope in Obama's change. None of this is good news for the president's reelection prospects. Unable to campaign on a record of accomplishment, Obama will have little choice but to run the most negative, slash-and-burn campaign in history.
The Real War On Women
In response to the Democrats' overheated rhetoric about the so-called "Republican war on women," House Republicans have decided to call their bluff. Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) introduced the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act to ban abortions performed solely based on the baby's sex. Four states, Canada and most European nations ban sex selection abortions. A recent poll found that 77% of Americans oppose such abortions.
Predictably, the left howled with rage. Some liberals insisted there was no need for such legislation. But this week two Planned Parenthood clinics were exposed helping women who said they wanted to abort based on their babies' sex.
And where does Barack Obama stand? Yesterday afternoon White House Press Secretary Jay Carney couldn't say. But Deputy Press Secretary Jamie Smith later told ABC News, "The government should not intrude in medical decisions or private family matters in this way." In other words, Obama opposes the bill to ban sex selection abortions.
Today, the House voted 246-to-168 in support of the Prenatal Non-Discrimination Act. Ninety-four percent of House Republicans supported the bill, while 85% of House Democrats opposed it. Unfortunately, the bill was brought up under a rule that required a two-thirds majority to pass. Because Democrats overwhelmingly opposed it, the bill received 59% support and thus failed to pass.
There seems to be no abortion the left would prevent, not even one that would destroy a baby just because she is a girl. That is the real war on women.
DOMA Struck Down
Just weeks after the people of North Carolina overwhelmingly reaffirmed the meaning of normal marriage, a three-judge panel of the First Circuit Court of Appeals has declared the Defense of Marriage Act unconstitutional. Again, we see how the left works. What they cannot achieve at the ballot box, the militant homosexual rights movement intends to force on us through the courts.
Liberals always denounce conservatives when we try to pass legislation defending traditional values. "You can't legislate morality," they say. But when unelected federal judges declare that marriage suddenly includes men "marrying" other men, they impose their values on the rest of society.
All law is someone's version of morality, a decision that this is right and this is wrong. The question confronting us is who will decide. Men and women of faith must be engaged in the culture war over the values we will pass on to our children and grandchildren. And in this presidential campaign, there is a very clear difference between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney when it comes to the meaning of marriage.
By the way, Barack Obama and the NAACP may have endorsed the radical idea of men "marrying" other men, but many black pastors are not. As I wrote yesterday, the Conference of National Black Churches is meeting in Washington, D.C., this week and The Daily Caller decided to ask some of the attendees how they felt about this issue. Click here to see what they had to say.
