Underwear bomb plot: British and US intelligence rattled over leaks
Leak about UK involvement described as despicable by CIA as anger turns to Obama administration for compromising mission

Detailed leaks of operational information about the foiled underwear bomb plot are causing growing anger in the US intelligence community, with former agents blaming the Obama administration for undermining national security and compromising the British services, MI6 and MI5.
The Guardian has learned from Saudi sources that the agent was not a Saudi national as was widely reported, but a Yemeni. He was born in Saudi Arabia, in the port city of Jeddah, and then studied and worked in the UK, where he acquired a British passport.
Mike Scheur, the former head of the CIA's Bin Laden unit, said the leaking about the nuts and bolts of British involvement was despicable and would make a repeat of the operation difficult. "MI6 should be as angry as hell. This is something that the prime minister should raise with the president, if he has the balls. This is really tragic," Scheur said.
Good news for those of you who enjoy taking your shoes off in airports. Al-Qaeda's chief bombmaker, a cheerful fellow named Ibrahim Hassan al-Asiri, who sent his younger brother off on a suicide bombing mission with a bomb up his rectum, has been working on turning everything into a bomb. Cameras, printer cartridges and even pets.
The good news is that al-Asiri isn't very good at it. His bomb did a good job of killing his brother, but not much else. The original underwear bomb worn by the Christmas bomber didn't work out. The bad news is that with enough cannon fodder and enough attempts, sooner or later al-Asri or another college dropout will get it right. But even if he doesn't, the force multiplier of the threat alone will do the job.
All it took was one shoe bomber to get us to take off our shoes. A failed plan to blow up airliners with liquid explosives led to the liquid ban. In the age of underwear bombs we have naked scanners. What is going to happen when the next plot involves explosives embedded in a laptop or surgically implanted in a pet?
A bomb anywhere is a bomb everywhere. When the bombs are everywhere, then so are the security measures taken against them until life is one big bomb and one giant security measure.
We may sooner or later hunt down al-Asiri and blow him away, but taking out a twenty-something graduate of a Saudi university after a long manhunt at a cost of countless millions of dollars will not be some grand achievement. There are plenty of Saudi, Kuwaiti and Pakistani chemistry students who can step into his place.

GAO: Recoverable Oil in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming 'About Equal to Entire World's Proven Oil Reserves'
By Terence P. Jeffrey
May 11, 2012
(CNSNews.com) - The Green River Formation, a largely vacant area of mostly federal land that covers the territory where Colorado, Utah and Wyoming come together, contains about as much recoverable oil as all the rest the world's proven reserves combined, an auditor from the Government Accountability Office told Congress on Thursday.
The GAO testimony said that the federal government was in "a unique position to influence the development of oil shale" because the Green River deposits were mostly beneath federal land.
It imposes a standard for emissions that is all but impossible for many plants to meet. It requires coal-fired plants to release no more than 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per megawatt hour.
-
Environmentalists are praising the new rule as a vital defense against climate change.
"We know what fossil fuel damages do to our public health, the health of our kids, our families," said Brent Blackwelder at a recent gathering of Friends of the Earth. "We know the damage it does to crops and to buildings. And now the big damage all around the world is climate disruption."
But coal industry representatives believe they've made great strides in reducing emissions through the years - now capturing over 99 percent of particulate emissions released during the combustion process. The EPA's proposed rule, they say, sets the bar too high and may force the closure of 20 to 25 percent of coal-fired plants across the United States.

Rumors of War III
Please take some time to watch this video/documentary produced by Mercury One/Glen Beck. It is scary, and unfortunately Glen has been right on most everything he has reported on.
Part Two: The Fiction and Non-Fiction of Obama
May 13, 2012
In Part I of this report, we examined President Obama's earliest role models and the influence each likely had on him as he shaped his worldview. With an anti-colonialist father, a mother who rejected Western society, a communist mentor, a domestic-terrorist benefactor, and an anti-Semitic preacher, the reasons behind Obama's past and present actions come more sharply into focus. Below, we navigate through just some of the president's questionable political positions.
"Brave" enough to order the killing Osama bin Laden...but had a back-up memo to blame the military in case it went wrong?
The entire Obama administration along with the American left has heaped praise on the president for his "daring" and "brave" decision to send a Navy SEAL team into an Abottobbad compound to assassinate 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden. In fact, Obama has even used the accomplishment as the crux of his latest campaign ad - a move even liberal mediaite Arianna Huffington deemed despicable. Yet in April it was revealed that then-CIA Director Leon Panetta drafted a memo that included an escape clause for the president should the operation go awry [emphasis added]: "The timing, operational decision making and control are in Admiral McRaven's hands. The approval is provided on the risk profile presented to the President. Any additional risks are to be brought back to the President for his consideration. The direction is to go in and get bin Laden and if he is not there, to get out." In plain-speak, Obama chose to blame the military, through "Patsy" Admiral McRaven, should the mission to kill bin Laden fail. Does this sound like something a Commander in Chief would or should ever do? The Wall Street Journal adds:
Glenn heard your requests and decided to make the GBTV documentary, Rumors of War III: Target U.S., available on DVD! As a GBTV Plus subscriber you can watch this stunning documentary on demand. Glenn said this is one of the most important hours of television he has been a part of yet - now you have the chance to own the DVD and share it with your friends and family.
America is under attack and the enemy isn't an ocean away, it's much closer than you think. The problem is 99% of Americans don't know it. This documentary brings you THE TRUTH about what's really happening on our borders. The connections revealed between the Muslim Brotherhood and top ranking positions in our government are unbelievable. The War on Terror is NOT over.We can't rely on "honest" journalists to get this information to the public, so we are counting on YOU.

By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their 'civilization jihad' - a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.
Welcome to The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within - a 10-part, web-based video briefing that is designed to explain why and how this is happening.
It addresses a threat most Americans are unaware even exists within our country, let alone the degree of peril it represents. The threat is the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine its adherents call "shariah" and the organized, disciplined and increasingly successful efforts by such adherents-- most especially the Muslim Brotherhood-- to bring it here.
We are making this course available in the hope of encouraging, informing and broadening support for national efforts to defeat the insinuation into this country of shariah's anti-constitutional and seditious program.
Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Overview

Featuring the author Elizabeth Price Foley, Florida International University College of Law; with comments by Doug Kendall, Constitutional Accountability Center; and Michael Barone, American Enterprise Institute; moderated by Roger Pilon, Cato Institute.
The Cato Institute 1000 Massachusetts Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20001
If you can't make it to the Cato Institute, watch this event live online at www.cato.org/live and join the conversation on Twitter with the hashtag #CatoEvents. Also follow @CatoEvents on Twitter to get future event updates, live streams, and videos from the Cato Institute.
With the 2012 elections before us, we've seen much speculation about whether the Tea Party will repeat the crucial role it played in the 2010 elections. Focusing on three principles-limited government, unapologetic U.S. sovereignty, and constitutional originalism-Elizabeth Price Foley's new book addresses that question, and more, head on. As George Will put it, "at last, someone conversant with the large issues now roiling contemporary American politics has taken the Tea Party seriously and concluded that it is intellectually substantial and politically constructive." Please join us for what will doubtless be a stimulating discussion, with comments from both a leading critic of the Tea Party and perhaps the nation's foremost political demographer.

Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution
Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101"course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.
Featuring 113 primary source documents, The U.S. Constitution: A Reader was developed for teaching the core course on the U.S. Constitution at Hillsdale College.
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs.
Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012.

Question with boldness, hold to the truth, and speak without fear. That has been my answer. - Glenn Beck
Since taking to the airwaves, Glenn Beck has been an answer man and a champion for the ideals of America. His 2010 Restoring Honor Rally and his upcoming Restoring Love Rally remind our nation what it means to be an American. On the Glenn Beck Program and GBTV, Glenn continuously fights to be the voice of freedom and warn our nation of the ever-growing power our government possesses. Patrick Henry stated that, "The battle is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave." Glenn Beck is the vigilant, the active, and the brave and for that reason, The Philadelphia Freedom Center is proud to honor him with The Patrick Henry Award and want you to be involved in this wonderful event.
In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:
For Tea Parties, this can be used as basic ammunition for letters to the editor, columns for your local news outlet, handouts at public events, emailing the pdf to our elected reps as well as to members, friends and neighbors.
This appears to be an excellent resource; let's make use of it.

By revealing the Nazi and Marxist origins of groups such as the Muslim Students Association and Students for Justice in Palestine and the connections between these organizations and terrorist activities around the globe, Muslim Hate Groups on Campus sheds light on the dark undercurrent of anti-Semitism which flows unobstructed through our most prestigious institutions of higher education.
On Thursday, our staff finalized the most explosive resource that Grassfire has ever published. It's called 69 Obama Lies. It's a Fantastic Resource for this election year!
I believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough "vetting" of Obama's actual words in print. And I know it is going to outrage the Left because we actually hold Obama accountable for what he said!
Dear Patriot,
About six weeks ago, our staff set out with the goal of putting the "truth detector" to what Obama has actually said. What we realized is Obama has lied so pervasively and thoroughly that even our staff had forgotten many of his most outrageous fibs! That's when we realized we had to create a written record of the Obama Lies.
69 Obama Lies is organized in six sections that cover everything from the lies Obama has told about himself (we call these "ObamaLies"), to his campaign lies, his lies about government and taxes, ObamaCare and domestic and foreign policy.
They are all here -- and footnoted so you will have complete documentation. We start with the ObamaLies -- his denial of Rev. Wright.... the "normalcy" of his church... the Bill Ayers lie... the ACORN lie... and Obama's "Brother's Keeper" lie which exposes his Marxist core.
Let's be clear -- it was these "ObamaLies" along with his campaign lies that got Obama elected in the first place. Obama's ability to cloak his real beliefs and his real associations (with the willing help of the liberal media) kept his campaign moving forward.
But we don't stop there....
+ + Obama's "Big Government" Lies
69 Obama Lies also tracks the BIG LIE that Obama sold to the American people just after Inauguration Day -- that massive deficit spending would "create and save" jobs and restore the economy.
It was all a LIE. We know that now. But it is vitally important to have the facts laid out in an orderly fashion. That's precisely what 69 Obama Lies does. We expose the full range of Obama's Big Government lies...
The "Create Or Save Jobs" Lie...
The Stimulus Law is Working" Lie...
The "I'll Cut The Deficit" Lie...
The "Government Motors" Lie...
The "Cash for Clunkers" Lie...
The "Rich Pay Less In Taxes" Lie...
+ + Border Lies, ObamaCare Lies... Energy Lies...
69 Obama Lies literally covers every aspect of Obama's presidency -- from his lies about border security and immigration to his lies about gas prices and green jobs.
We saved a whole section for Obama's signature legislative "achievement" -- ObamaCare. We've identified a Baker's Dozen of fibs Obama told just to get ObamaCare passed.
And please note that each of the 69 Obama Lies is like a mini research report -- clearly laying out the specific Obama lie and fully documenting our sources.
If you can help Grassfire with a contribution of ANY AMOUNT (even a few dollars to cover printing and shipping), we'll send you TWO COPIES of "69 Obama Lies" -- one to keep and one to share with a friend.
We have asked the printer to rush the first printing of 69 Obama Lies so we can get this resource into our team members' hands as quickly as possible.
As a result, we expect to begin shipping 69 Obama Lies the week of April 23.
In order to be included in our first shipment, please let me hear from you as soon aspossible. Go here to request your two copies:
I truly believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough and most important resource Grassfire has ever created. And I want to put it in the hands of every Grassfire team member.
Please take a moment to order your two copies of 69 Obama Lies today, and thanks for the stand you are taking.
Patriots, this booklet will assist in setting the record straight with swing voters, moderates, and even Democrats! This is the best resource I have seen to prove the lies from Obama - out of his own mouth- versus the truth or facts. This is the resource of this 2012 Presidential election year.
Want Obama out? Then obtain multiple copies of this booklet and share with friends, neighbors, co-workers, church family, and your tea party. To win we must be equipped! This is the best weapon for your arsenal of resources to beat Obama!

Bill Hewlett and David Packard, tinkering in a California garage, began what became Hewlett-Packard. Steve Jobs and a friend built a computer in the California garage that became Apple's birthplace. Bill Cook had no garage, so he launched Cook Medical in a spare bedroom in an apartment in this university town. Half a century ago, in flight from Chicago's winters, he settled here and began making cardiovascular catheters and other medical instruments. One thing led to another, as things have a way of doing when the government stays out of the way, and although Cook died last year, Cook Medical, with its subsidiaries, is the world's largest family-owned medical devices company.
In 2010, however, Congress, ravenous for revenue to fund Obamacare, included in the legislation a 2.3 percent tax on gross revenue - which generally amounts to about a 15 percent tax on most manufacturers' profits - from U.S. sales of medical devices beginning in 2013. This will be piled on top of the 35 percent federal corporate tax, and state and local taxes. The 2.3 percent tax will be a $20 billion blow to an industry that employs more than 400,000, and $20 billion is almost double the industry's annual investment in research and development.
An axiom of scarcity is understood by people not warped by working for the federal government, which can print money when it wearies of borrowing it. The axiom is: A unit of something - time, energy, money - spent on this cannot be spent on that. So the 2.3 percent tax, unless repealed, will mean not only fewer jobs but also fewer pain-reducing and life-extending inventions - stents, implantable defibrillators, etc. - which have reduced health-care costs.
Occupier Thanks Former Soviet Citizen for 'Converting' Him to Capitalism, Pro-Israel, Pro-USA
The following 15 minute video from the Media Research Center is both highly entertaining and a peek inside the mind of a young man, barely out of childhood, who has been subjected to liberal brainwashing, with no access to facts that do not fit the left's agenda. In the video, he encounters an unnamed man who engages him in a detailed and spirited conversation. The manchild has his eyes opened, expresses amazement at the information he learns, and in the end expresses thanks for "converting" him to pro-USA, pro-capitalism, and pro-Israel positions.
I rarely recommend videos this long, but it is worthwhile, though it starts a little slowly. I know that I would like to shake the hand of the man who made this video.
Victory Center" on Facebook
-Gabriel Malor
Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center appwill, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.
It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on.
A CBS4/Miami Herald analysis of information supplied by Miami-Dade shows a large number of the potential non-citizens voters cast ballots in the past - including the 2000 election, when the presidency was decided by just over 500 votes.
According to Deputy Supervisor of Elections Christina White, there are a "lot of non-citizens on our registration rolls."
Florida's Division of Elections is checking the citizenship of voters by comparing drivers license records, which show whether a licensed driver is also a U.S. citizen.
Non-citizens are able to become registered voters in Florida because if a non-citizen checks the box on the voter registration form that says they are a citizen they are registered to vote, because the form is signed under oath.
If there is a day to finger for Barack Obama losing the Presidency in 2012, it will be Sunday, May 6, 2012.
On that day, Joe Biden* went on national television and proclaimed himself in favor of gay marriage. It started a media spiral for the President. Two days after Biden spoke, North Carolina voters voted by overwhelming margins to leave marriage alone. The next day, Barack Obama went on national television to devolve back to the position he held prior to running for President.
In a long election season, it's never wise to get too high or too low over any one poll. Presidential elections are won at the state level, but statewide polling is fairly sporadic at this stage of the race, so we're stuck reading national polls a lot. But the latest poll is bad news for President Obama.
We all know the major issues by now to look for with individual polls: some polls are adults, and are totally useless, because only registered voters can vote. Polls of likely voters, in turn, are vastly more accurate and less Democratic-biased than polls of registered voters, many of whom also don't show up to vote. Most polls are also reported after weighting to achieve some guesstimate of the partisan breakdown of the general electorate among Democrats, Republicans and Independents. Even polls that don't feature egregious hackery are an inexact science, because they rest on the pollster's current assumptions about the D/R/I split and the 'screen' they use to decide who is a likely voter. If the shape of the electorate is not as projected, the poll will be wrong.
Another day, another socialist takes to the New York Times to denounce capitalism. With his criticism - he is a professional critic, which is a job no socialist society would really see value in except as an agenda of propaganda, but he thrives in the capitalist society he condemns - he premises it on some sort of morality. He mocks Christians for embracing capitalism with no understanding of Christianity or even a real understanding of capitalism.
But his critique is filled with the usual, and totally unoriginal leftist pablum about the evils of profit motive, etc. while ignoring arms length transactions, how the free market, unlike any other economic system, has elevated so many out of poverty, etc.
Along the way, we keep hearing something from these leftists, whether it be Barack Obama, Elizabeth Warren, Nancy Pelosi, or the Hollywood crowd is that the rich need to "give back" and "pay their fair share."
They're just as happy to quote a secular philosopher as they are the Bible. Elizabeth Warren famously said that the factory owner wants us to ignore the people who built the roads or ran the phone lines, etc. She, however, wants to ignore the factory owner's idea, success, and hiring record - providing jobs to people to build his product.
Obama has decided that he'd like to tussle with Romney in the economic playground this week, releasing an ad that has echoes of Gingrich's SuperPAC spots but with even less factual basis. It's cleverly named "Steel."
Kris Barrett, the politically active spouse of Tom Barrett, current mayor of Milwaukee and the Democratic nominee running against Gov. Scott Walker, has been caught using her taxpayer funded e-mail account to lobby and campaign for Democratic candidates and causes. Mrs. Barrett is a public school teacher and last year she was employed by Milwaukee Public Schools, Wisconsin's largest school district. The district has two policies that prohibit employees from using any government resources, including e-mail addresses, for political purposes.
Rush Limbaugh Inducted Into 'Hall of Famous Missourians'; Missouri Democrats Not Pleased
The Blaze | by Mytheos Holt | Posted on May 14, 2012 at 10:39pm
If you had to name one famous person who came from Missouri, who would it be? A Sports star? One of their Congressional representatives? Maybe such Missouri luminaries as actor Vincent Price (who originally came from Saint Louis) or poet T.S. Eliot (also from Saint Louis)? Maybe former President Harry Truman, or peanut butter inventor George Washington Carver, or animator Walt Disney, or writer Mark Twain?
Or maybe even...Rush Limbaugh, originally from Cape Girardeau?
Odds are that among those who know Limbaugh's origins, he's almost certainly one of the most famous Missourians people can name. And perhaps for that reason, today Limbaugh was given the distinct honor of being inducted into no less a group than the Hall of Famous Missourians, which was created by the Missouri state legislature, and whose inductees are chosen by the Speaker of the Missouri House.
Say: "I guess I'm more of a libertarian than a conservative." Then see how extreme you can go before the liberal screams halt. Start with apparently socially liberal things they might like, "Yeah, I'm absolutely opposed to censorship," and then say, "I think hardcore porn should be available on network television if people want it, don't you?" Or say, "Yeah, I'm for legalizing drugs," and then say, "especially PCP and crack and drugs that target inner city young people, because if anyone needs to go tripping to escape their circumstances, it's them right?" You surely won't get beyond, "Yeah, and I'm for privatizing public schools." Liberals may be for some crazy things-but what liberal would dare to say that all schools should like, you know, compete for soundness; cater to parents rather than teachers unions and educrats; and be free instead of controlled by the state?
The Washington Post Company is riddled by scandal and financial turmoil. Isn't it time for Post ombudsman, Bob Woodward, and others to protest what casts a pall over the paper's journalistic reputation and integrity?
The North Korean people were led to believe Kim Jong Eun is the all powerful "Great Oz." But there is a seed, planted because of his transition to power, that may take root to cause him problems later.
Why don't some liberals or "progressives" just man up and admit they're socialists, or even communists? Could it be that socialism and communism have a record of moral and economic disasters? They'll never tell.
The three top Egyptian Presidential candidates exude the peace the Arab Spring has brought us. Fotouh: "Israel is an enemy." Morsi: "Jihad is our path and death in the name of Allah is our goal". Moussa: "Most of our people consider it [Israel] an enemy."

Bang for your buck: that's what the Freedom Center provides. Ammunition for the culture war against the Left: that's what your contribution buys. So please act now and help us in the fight we are waging on many fronts for America's future. America is under assault from within and without. There is no time to lose.
The platitudes are heartfelt, no doubt, but actions speak louder than words as Israel turns 64.
At a Columbus Day celebration, a visiting member of Congress stood up and gave a speech, as is typical of Columbus Day events throughout the land. In the middle of his remarks he paused and delivered the line that got the most energetic response from the crowd: "I fully support Italy's right to exist!"
Earlier that year in July this same lawmaker was speaking at the Can-Am Canada Day picnic and stated unequivocally: "Canada has a right to defend herself as she sees fit!"
Meanwhile, at the Namaste celebration, this member of Congress took another courageous stand, affirming that "India has a right to safe and secure borders!"
As if that were not enough, at the Mardi Gras Samba Ball in the congressional district, this same legislator pounded on the podium and demanded: "The citizens of Brazil should not have to put up with hundreds or thousands of rockets fired at them from across the border!"
For Cinco de Mayo, there was the member of Congress yet again, this time noting: "We must stand up and oppose those who call for Mexico to be wiped off the map!"
Of course, all of these pronouncements are from a mythical lawmaker, because no lawmaker would make such statements. They would sound beyond silly, with the audience looking on in bewilderment.
Yet there is one nation about whom such statements are said routinely with great seriousness and fervor --as if there is still some doubt.
It is my pleasure today to announce that Andrew C. McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor and New York Times bestselling author, has joined PJ Media as a full-time PJ Columnist.
Andy, who put the Blind Sheik behind bars in the first World Trade Center bombing, was arguably the most important prosecutor in the War on Terror. He is among the most authoritative writers anywhere on the dangers of Jihad. His distinguished legal career and expertise on national security matters will be invaluable to PJ Media and our readers.
On PJTV, I talked to Andy about his transition from attorney to writer and political analyst, his new book, and his plans for his PJ column. Click here to watch the video now.
Given his background, it's no surprise that Andy is very interested in law and national security. Andy's training is as a trial lawyer, not a journalist, which allows him to break down complicated events and legal principles into a narrative that commonsense people can wrap their brains around.
He also is very interested in ideology:
When it comes to Islamic supremacism, I'm interested in how craven we've become (particularly at the governmental level) about recognizing it, discussing it and understanding it. I'm very interested in conservatism and how far we've abandoned it -- especially how addicted to statism the country's putatively conservative political party and commentariat has become. I'm very committed to the founding principle that we are a self-determining people: we are not meant to be run by (i.e., to turn our lives over to) experts and technocrats.
As a PJ Columnist, Andy would like to help conservatives get better at recognizing the battle is on before it's already lost:
My pet peeve about us conservatives is that -- for sound conservative reasons -- we are a step or two slow when conventional wisdom (reliably wrong) is born. Consequently, the Right loses the language battles (abortion becomes "choice"; taxes become "revenue"; spending becomes "investment"; Hezbollah becomes a "political party"; a jihadist who's run out of ammo becomes a "moderate Islamist"; and so on). These are not just word games; they become the conceptual framework for analyzing news and policy.
Outside of his legal and writing careers, Andy has been coaching little league baseball for the last few years. He's been a hockey fan for more than 40 years, and he and his family watch sports all year round: mainly Mets, Jets, Knicks and Devils. He also has been a PJ Media fan since the website launched: "It's not only got energy, variety and moxie; some of my favorite writers, and good friends, are PJ Columnists. To join such a line-up is humbling and exhilarating."
A feature of our National Conference will be a "behind-the-scenes" look at how we're getting ALAC bills passed. Click on above for more details and how to register!
Last week the Kansas legislature passed, with near unanimous supprt, the Kansas version of "American Laws for American Courts" (ALAC). (See the Washington Post article below.)
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Rep. Peggy Mast, who worked tirelessly to get the bill passed, and our Kansas chapter leaders and members who answered our "calls to action" and provided the grassroots power.
Despite continued efforts by Hamas-connected CAIR to spread disinformation and outright lies about ALAC legislation, we have yet to lose a floor vote on ALAC in any state.
The Kansas legislation now awaits Gov. Brownback's signature. We will be putting out emails this week to our Kansas members urging them to contact Brownback's office asking him to sign the bill into law.
Legislature approves bill to bar use of Islamic law, other foreign codes, in Kansas courts
TOPEKA, Kan. - A bill designed to prevent Kansas courts or government agencies from making decisions based on Islamic or other foreign legal codes has cleared the state Legislature after a contentious debate about whether the measure upholds American values or appeals to prejudice against Muslims.
The Senate approved the bill Friday on a 33-3 vote. The House had approved it, 120-0, earlier in the week. The measure goes next to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback, who hasn't said whether he'll sign or veto the measure.
The measure doesn't specifically mention Shariah law, which broadly refers to codes within the Islamic legal system. Instead, it says that courts, administrative agencies or state tribunals can't base rulings on any foreign law or legal system that would not grant the parties the same rights guaranteed by state and U.S. constitutions.
But several supporters specifically cited the potential use of Shariah law in Kansas as their concern. Though there are no known cases in which a Kansas judge has based a ruling on Islamic law, supporters of the bill cited a pending case in Sedgwick County in which a man seeking to divorce his wife has asked for property to be divided under a marriage contract in line with Shariah law.
The bill's supporters said it simply ensures that legal decisions will protect long-cherished liberties, such as freedom of speech and religion and the right to equal treatment under the law. Sen. Susan Wagle, a Wichita Republican, said a vote for the legislation is a vote to protect women.
"In this great country of ours and in the state of Kansas, women have equal rights," Wagle said during the Senate's debate. "They stone women to death in countries that have Shariah law."
The bill passed both chambers by wide margins because even some legislators who were skeptical of it believed it was broad and bland enough that it didn't represent a specific political attack on Muslims.
"We don't have any intolerance in this bill. Nobody's stripped of their freedom of religion," said Sen. Ty Masterson, an Andover Republican. "This is talking about the law - American law, American courts."
But several senators noted that supporters of the bill have singled out Shariah law in talking about it.
"This bill will put Kansas in a light that says we are intolerant of any other faith," said Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Tim Owens, an Overland Park Republican who voted against the bill. "I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror in the morning if I didn't stand up and say I don't want to be that kind of person and I don't want to be in a community or a state that is that way."
Both the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the National Conference of State Legislatures say anti-Shariah proposals have been considered in 20 states, including Kansas. Oklahoma voters approved a ballot initiative in 2010 that specifically mentioned Shariah law, but both a federal judge and a federal appeals court blocked it.
"It is an effort to demonize Islam," said Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Washington-based council. "As Muslims are seen participating in a positive way in society, that really irritates some people."
In Kansas, 45 House members, led by Rep. Peggy Mast, an Emporia Republican sponsored a bill aimed at Shariah law last year. The House approved it overwhelmingly, but it stalled in the Senate; this year, the House pushed another version, and pressure built on senators.
Mast had a news conference Thursday to highlight the Sedgwick County case, in which Hussein Hamdeh, a Wichita State University physics professor, filed for a divorce in November 2010 from his wife, Hala.
Their Islamic marriage contract, made in Lebanon, promised her a $5,000 payment should they split. He argued that the contract settled property issues, while Islamic law limited spousal maintenance payments to her to three months. Her attorney said in a court document that following Islamic law would leave her "destitute."
Hussein Hamdeh's attorney declined to comment because the case is pending. Hala Hamdeh's attorney did not return a telephone message seeking comment.
Sen. Garrett Love, a Montezuma Republican, said even if no Kansas court has yet based a decision on foreign legal codes, "That doesn't mean we shouldn't still protect Kansans from those foreign laws being used in the future - a future that really may not be that far away."
But several senators questioned whether the legislation is necessary, arguing Kansas judges and officials already must adhere to the U.S. and state constitutions. Hooper derided it as "an anti-unicorn" bill.
"All it does is increase hostility toward Islam and suspicion of Muslims," Hooper said.

China baby capsules Last week Glenn shared a truly disturbing story. China, the country so many are looking to as "the future", is using human baby flesh in pill capsules. But it's just Europe! No need to worry. You'd have to be crazy to predict something like that having an impact on America...
(Chicago Tribune) - Dozens of demonstrators dashed into the Loop building housing President Barack Obama's campaign headquarters this morning, slipping past security guards and running up escalators as they kicked off what they called a "Week Without Capitalism."
Eight protesters were led out in handcuffs about half an hour later after they refused to clear the lobby. They were cheered by other demonstrators who began dancing and singing folk and gospel songs.
The demonstration, organized by the Catholic Worker movement. began with about 100 demonstrators picketing at Prudential Plaza and passing out rolls to commuters in what they called a symbolic invitation to break bread with world leaders expected here this weekend for the NATO summit.
After about 30 minutes marching and singing outside the building, the group tried to enter the building and reach Obama's campaign offices around 8:30 a.m.
Guards locked the revolving doors, but protesters slipped through unlocked doors off to the sides. Some pushed past a security guard who tried to block their entry but quickly gave up as protesters poured through the doorway.

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 176 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS
The Battle Continues
Barack Obama's open support for same-sex "marriage" has reignited the culture war and galvanized millions of voters. It has also been a great opportunity for us to make the case for our pro-family values.
We have been deluged with interview requests from major media outlets such as Politico and the New York Times. I appeared on Bill Bennett's radio show, and yesterday Tony Perkins and I were on CNN's "State of the Union" making the case for normal marriage and discussing the potential ramifications for the 2012 election. You can watch it here. Earlier today, I debated Geraldo Rivera on the topic and took calls from the usual Christian-bashers.
On CNN, I said that Obama's support for men "marrying" men likely put into play six or seven states that he carried in 2008. The Drudge Report turned that quote into a headline, linking to this Washington Times column.
It's your generous support that makes our work possible. We met our short-term fundraising goal! Thank you so much for standing with me as we fight the good fight for family, faith and freedom.
No Time To Run
What do North Carolina, Nevada, Missouri, Colorado, Arizona, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, Virginia and Michigan have in common?
They are all toss up states that together will determine who wins the presidency in November. They're also all states whose voters have passed constitutional amendments to preserve normal marriage in recent years.
Marriage should not be a political issue. But the left is trying to force its morality on the rest of the country and it clearly intends to win the culture war.
What about the GOP? That's the subject of my weekly Human Events column.
Ignore The Spin
There is a lot of misleading spin by the "mainstream" media today regarding the polling data on same-sex "marriage." For example, there is a report about a Gallup survey that purports to show a majority of Americans support Obama's position.
But when you delve further into the data, you learn that Obama's position is a political loser. By a 2-to-1 margin, independents are less likely (23%) to vote for Obama as a result of his radical stand than they are to support him (11%). Even 10% of Democrats say they are less likely to support Obama now.
Here's another example, from CBS, "Poll: Most Americans Support Same-Sex Unions." But the poll actually found that only 38% of Americans support Obama's position of same-sex "marriage." In order to justify that headline, CBS had to include civil unions, which many homosexual activists and some courts have rejected.
The ballot box is the best measure of where America really stands. More than 30 states have approved constitutional marriage protection amendments, frequently by overwhelming margins. As a result of last week's vote in North Carolina, one Democrat pollster tweeted, "Hate to say it, but I don't believe polls showing support for gay marriage nationally. Any times [sic] there is a vote it doesn't back it up."
More From Obamaworld
Newsweek is out with a new edition that labels Obama, "The First Gay President." Their words, not ours. And, of course, they mean them as a compliment. But it is also an indication of just how in the tank Obama is for the radical homosexual rights agenda.
Obama's support for same-sex "marriage" has vulnerable Democrats squirming. And it's even threatening to undermine Obama among his strongest supporters -- blacks. As this report indicates, Obama has been forced to engage in "damage control efforts" with black pastors, some of whom indicated that it would be difficult to support his reelection.
And speaking of black pastors, Jeremiah Wright alleges in a new book that he was offered a $150,000 bribe by "one of Barack's closest friends" to stop speaking publicly until after the 2008 election. Will the "mainstream" media investigate this story of Chicago-style corruption by someone close to the candidate of hope and change? I won't hold my breath.
Pro-Life Gains
Nancy Keegan, the leader of the militant pro-abortion group NARAL, has announced that she is stepping down and her reason for resigning is cause for celebration.
The 60 year-old Keegan is stepping down because NARAL's own research finds that younger voters are trending pro-life. According to the Washington Post, "In 2010, the group's poll of 700 young Americans showed a stark 'intensity gap' on abortion. Most anti-abortion voters under 30 (51 percent) considered it a 'very important' voting issue. Among abortion-rights millennials, that number stood at 26 percent."
Of course the economy will be the dominant issue in this election. But there are millions of Americans who care deeply about pro-life, pro-family values AND THEY VOTE!
Speaking Of The Economy...
In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, former Treasury Secretary John Snow warns that Obama's stated policies are threatening to derail the U.S. economy. Consider this excerpt:
"Unfortunately, ...prominent proposals by the administration would triple the top dividend tax rate to nearly 45%, while doubling the top rate on capital gains to 30%. If one intended to cripple job creation, depress stock prices, and lower the value of retirement savings for working Americans, these proposals would be just what we should choose."
Does Obama Have A Problem With Women?
There has been a lot of rhetoric lately about the so-called "Republican war on women." But some recent polling and two books suggests that Barack Obama may have his own problems with women. You can read more in my column at Politico.

"[Mitt] Romney and other Republicans need to show a little more confidence in the reasonableness of conservative policies and in the American people to support them when they are plainly explained. Romney does not need to apologize for his monetary success; he doesn't need to strip high-income earners of legitimate tax deductions; he doesn't need to throw bones to the global warming zealots; and he doesn't need to pander to Democrats on student loan extensions. If Republican candidates insist on allowing Democrats to make this election a contest over which party cares more about the American people, then perhaps they ought to make the case that compassion means we quit spending the nation and our children into bankruptcy and that we should re-establish economic policies that history has proved lead to economic growth. But they mustn't stop there. They must also take the offensive and show that it is the Democratic Party and its left-wing media echo chamber that have been taken over not merely by liberals but by extremist liberals, most notably typified by President Barack Obama. They no longer have to rely on his past radical associations. They can point to his record of extremism in office across the board. Obama's record is as radical as it gets (given the center-right beliefs of the electorate), and his policies have manifestly failed -- unarguably. It's imperative that Republicans make that case aggressively and unapologetically. If they do so, they'll have to spend much less time agonizing over whether they look extreme themselves. Stop the navel gazing and read the tea leaves, GOP. Shine the spotlight on Obama and his unacceptable extremism." --columnist David Limbaugh
"This week the Obama reelection campaign released an ad called 'We're Coming Back.' It's a blatant rip-off of Ronald Reagan's 1984 'Morning in America' ad that pointed out how much stronger, prouder and better America had become during my father's first four years. The Obama ad claims that we're on the road to recovery and says the president is working hard to finish the job he started. It's not supposed to be funny. But there's one serious problem with the Obama ad -- after four years of his reign of errors things are not getting better. And he has no new ideas, just the same bad Big Government ones he's been pushing -- more taxes, more spending and more regulation. When 'Morning in America' ran in 1984, inflation and interest rates were half what they had been in 1980 and were going down. There were no more lines at the gas pumps and no more gloomy talk from the Oval Office about a national 'malaise.' Ronald Reagan turned the country around the right way. He lowered taxes, cut regulations and got the government off the back of businesses and out of the way of the American people. After four years of my father's administration, Americans could see real signs of improvement and a hopeful future for the country. That's why RR was re-hired. After four years of President Obama, our only hope is that in November he is fired." --columnist Michael Reagan

As I've said before, senators no longer represent their states to Washington, they represent Leviathan to the states, handing out either goodies or punishments as their whim and the political winds dictate. Their primary allegiance is not to the voters back 'home' but to their cloakroom colleagues (hence the 'bipartisanship' fetish that is particularly virulent in the Senate) on Capitol Hill, and to the Beltway parasites who feed off them. Indeed, Lugar didn't even live in Indiana. According to this story, he stayed in a hotel in Indianapolis, at taxpayer expense, whenever he deigned to visit. ... In the name of 'democracy,' the 'progressive'-era amendment fundamentally upset the balance of state-fed power that had been built into the Constitution, tipping it inexorably in favor of Washington. Unmoored from state or region for a minimum of six years -- and more likely, twelve or 18 -- the senators now form a club without a purpose except for their own reelections. Far from enhancing democracy, the very nature of the office now mocks it." --columnist Michael Walsh
"What is the Constitution or the laws when it comes to ideological soul mates, especially young soul mates who remind the aging 1960s radicals of their youth? Neither in this nor any other issue can the Constitution protect us if we don't protect the Constitution. When all is said and done, the Constitution is a document, a piece of paper. If we don't vote out of office, or impeach, those who violate the Constitution, or who refuse to enforce the law, the steady erosion of Constitutional protections will ultimately render it meaningless. Everything will just become a question of whose ox is gored and what is the political expediency of the moment." --economist Thomas Sowell
Government
"A child leaving home alone for the first time takes a risk. So does the entrepreneur who opens a new business. I no more want government to prevent us from doing these things than I want it to keep us in padded cells. Everyone has a different tolerance for risk. One person takes out a second mortgage to start a business. Another thinks that sounds nerve-racking, if not insane. Neither person is wrong. Government cannot know each person's preferences, or odds of success. Even if it did, what right does it have to tell them what to do? When government gets in the business of deciding which risks are acceptable and which aren't, nasty things happen. This includes government's attempt to improve life by regulating gambling and the use of medicine, banning recreational drugs and mandating safety devices in cars. In what sense are we free if we can't decide such things for ourselves? ... In a free country, it should be up to adult individuals to make their own choices about risk. Patrick Henry didn't say, 'Give me safety, or give me death.' Liberty is what America is supposed to be about. Let's start treating people as though their bodies belong to them, not to a controlling and 'protective' government." --columnist John Stossel
The Gipper
"[I]t doesn't require expropriation or confiscation of private property or business to impose socialism on a people. What does it mean whether you hold the deed or the title to your business or property if the government holds the power of life and death over that business or property? Such machinery already exists. The government can find some charge to bring against any concern it chooses to prosecute. Every businessman has his own tale of harassment. Somewhere a perversion has taken place. Our natural, inalienable rights are now considered to be a dispensation of government, and freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp as it is at this moment." --Ronald Reagan
Culture
"In addition to labeling conservatives and Republicans 'anti-woman' (for opposing government-mandated free contraception), 'anti-black' and 'anti-Hispanic' (for advocating photo identification for voting), and 'anti-science' (for skepticism regarding the belief that man-made carbon emissions will destroy much of the planet), Democrats now regularly label Republicans 'anti-gay' (for opposing same-sex marriage). All these charges are demagogic. But when it comes to the 'anti-gay' charge, conservatives need to clarify to themselves as much as to the general public where they stand. As an opponent of the most radical redefinition of marriage in history (more radical than outlawing polygamy), I have argued for the Defense of Marriage Act before Congress and have written and spoken on behalf of amending state constitutions to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. I believe that the ultimate aim of the LGBT movement and the rest of the cultural left is nothing less than to end gender distinctions. But I am not anti-gay. Proponents of same-sex marriage may conflate opposition to same-sex marriage with being anti-gay. But conservatives must not. Those of us who fear the consequences of redefining marriage ... must make it clear that we regard homosexuals as fellow human beings created in God's image just as heterosexuals are." --columnist Dennis Prager

Newsweek Contributor Compares Ann Romney to Hitler and Stalin on MSNBC
By Noel Sheppard | May 13, 2012
As NewsBustersreported Sunday, Newsweek/Daily Beast senior contributor Michelle Goldberg called Ann Romney "insufferable" on MSNBC this morning.
Seconds later, she also compared the wife of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary).
A pattern of recent economic disasters based on the Hebrew calendar portends what some suspect we will be the biggest U.S. financial calamity yet on this coming date.
Is God about to tell us something big by catastrophe?
The next time you have a hankering for Starbucks, think about this. The coffee giant openly supports same-sex marriage, and is trumpeting that its profits have never been better. Bottoms up!

In 2008 Barack Obama won Oregon by 17 points but a new SurveyUSA poll shows he is leading by just 4 points. If that was all the bad news out of The Beaver State it would be bad enough foe Obama, but the news gets worse when more realistic standards of voter sentiment are applied to data as presented.
In response to this news, the Oregonian (one of the foulest of the Democrats' mouth piece news outlets) points to the difference between the numbers of registered Democrats/Republicans/Independents who voted in Oregon's 2010 elections and the breakdown SurveyUSA used to put its report together.
By that measurement there are 5.6% more Democrats .05% more Republicans BUT 6.1% fewer Independents in the State, and herein lies a serious flaw in the Oregonian's "happy face" analysis.
The first permanent English settlement in the New World began at Jamestown, Virginia, MAY 13, 1607. Plagued by hunger, malaria, exposure and Indian attacks, many of the 100 settlers sent out by the London Company died, including their minister Robert Hunt, of whom they wrote: "1607. If Darrell Issa has any thoughts of the full House voting on his Oversight Committee's citation of contempt against Eric Holder, he will first have to clear the idea with the Attorney General's staunchest allies and political defenders-Republican Speaker John Boehner, Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Republican Majority Whip, Kevin McCarthy.
Upon the Speaker's office being provided a draft of the citation last week, a spokesman for the Republican leadership said "While there are very legitimate arguments to be made in favor of such an action, no decision has been made to move forward with one by the Speaker or by House Republican leaders." They will "...slow [Issa's] drive to hold the attorney general in contempt over the controversial Fast and Furious program..." for a period of "a month or even longer..." It has been over three years (1,111 days to be precise) since the U.S. Senate last passed a budget. The last time Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) fulfilled his legal responsibility, Conan was still on NBC, Tea Parties hadn't come together and the iPad hadn't yet been introduced. This is one of the biggest abdications of power we have seen on the part of our government in modern time. And there is no excuse. The Senate needs only 51 votes to pass a budget. Democrats have had well over that for President Obama's entire term, yet they refuse to even offer a plan.
Let's be clear. The Senate must pass a budget if we are going to halt Washington's disastrous habit of overspending, overborrowing and overtaxing our fragile economy. While liberals sit on the sidelines saying 'no,' conservatives are offering solutions.
Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI), Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) and others have courageously put credible and thoughtful plans on the table. But today, I am happy to report that a member of the Senate has put forward an unprecedented new plan that directly confronts all of the major economic challenges our nation faces.
Recognizing that our nation has come to the point where we either change course or risk falling into permanent decline, Senator Lee's "Saving the American Dream" budget resolution puts forth a framework for strengthening the core principles that make this country exceptional, namely:
Limiting the size and scope of the federal government
Reforming our entitlement programs so that they ensure real economic protection instead of unrealistic promises no government can sustain
Simplifying our complex federal tax code so Americans have greater opportunities to create lasting economic prosperity.
Lee's plan is a strong blueprint for restraining and ultimately reducing our nation's massive debt, cutting Washington's out-of-control spending and above all restoring our nation's economic prosperity. This is the only way that we can make sure future generations are not saddled with debt that keeps them from having the same opportunity of achieving the American Dream.
The reaction from those who want to continue the status quo against all evidence that we can't is predictable. They will demagogue Senator Lee and other conservatives of wanting to throw grandma over the cliff. How blind, and how irresponsible. If we fail to act then spending under programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid will balloon unchecked and eventually the nation will effectively go bankrupt. The truth is that the president's health reform law magnified the financial problem while already ending Medicare as we know it.
Instead of making promises Congress has no chance of keeping even with massive tax hikes, Social Security and Medicare should provide seniors with a reasonable, affordable and predicable benefit that protects seniors from the threat of living in poverty.
Under the Lee budget, Social Security is converted into a true insurance that supplements income for retirees who need it. For the more affluent, benefits will be quickly restored in cases of sudden reversals.
By completing the transition begun years ago to a premium-support program, Medicare would assist seniors in buying the affordable health coverage they want and need from a marketplace that would have been freed to be more competitive. Similar approaches in Medicare Part D and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan (the plan Congress enjoys) have resulted in lower health care costs and higher value in the delivery of care.
You may have heard the false allegation that conservatives don't have a plan to solve our health care problems once Obamacare is ultimately repealed. This plan provides the answer.
This budget finally addresses one of the biggest problems with the healthcare industry--ever rising costs. Senator Lee proposes changing the outdated tax treatment of health insurance so that every American receives a tax credit (equal to what they get today in the workplace) to buy and own health coverage that meets individual needs.
This can be done without mandates from the federal government that intrude upon the moral, religious and philosophical sensibilities of the American public. At the same time, the Lee budget resolution redesigns the entire federal tax code into an expenditure tax that has a single flat rate. That's right, a single, simple and fair tax system.
The plan encourages more savings, benefiting every American who dreams of going to college, buying a house or starting a business. Greater savings and a less punitive business tax also means more resources to invest and more opportunities to invest in our economy, and that means more jobs for Americans who are out of work and better wages for those who have jobs.
Finally, like Heritage's fiscal plan, Lee's budget reevaluates what the federal government can do with taxpayer money and time. By substantially reducing the size and scope of the federal government, Lee's plan rightfully moves government towards its core responsibilities that fit within the Constitution and original intent of our Founding Fathers.
It is encouraging to see lawmakers taking a serious look at the crucial steps that are necessary to get our nation on a path of fiscal, political and constitutional responsibility. But there is more to do, and we hope you'll join us in our efforts to make sure that "Saving the American Dream" becomes a reality.
Share today's Morning Bell on Facebook, Twitter or by email. Help us tell America about the #LeePlan.
Sincerely,
Ed Feulner President, The Heritage Foundation
Strong Budget from Sen. Mike Lee
Washington has broken the bank. Debt and deficits are out of control. The Senate hasn't passed a budget in over 1100 days. You've heard this story before, but this week we're turning the page.
Sen. Mike Lee unveiled a fiscal plan that tackles runaway spending, exploding entitlements, and the ridiculously complicated federal tax code. Modeled on The Heritage Foundation's "Saving the American Dream," the Lee Budget is the bold conservative reform that America needs.
If Congress is serious about solving the problems they've created, they would pass the Lee Budget. The plan's substantive reforms include:
* full repeal of Obamacare and the empowerment of individuals to make their own health care choices * comprehensive tax reform that creates one unified tax rate * sweeping reforms to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
Through these and other reforms, the Lee Budget balances the federal budget by 2017!
Thanks for all you do in supporting conservative accountability,

Obama campaign launches attack on Romney's jobs record at Bain
Published May 14, 2012
FoxNews.com
2012 AP President Obama's reelection campaign launched a broadside Monday against Mitt Romney, attacking the core of his business resume and calling into question his record as a jobs creator.
In a new website, web video and lengthy television ad set to air in battleground states, the Obama campaign assailed Romney's record at private equity firm Bain Capital.
The effort marked Obama's fiercest swipe yet at the presumptive Republican nominee's business background. Romney's former GOP opponents briefly targeted his Bain Capital days during the primary season, but abandoned that line of criticism amid condemnation from conservatives who claimed those candidates were betraying the party's free-market values.
I took Bill to breakfast at the Grandview Grill in St. Paul this morning. Did anyone notice that he missed his regular shift on Fox News Sunday today? I did. I wanted to hear what he had to say on the Washington Post's scoop on Mitt Romney's high school days. I think it's fair to say he is not impressed.
Getting the chance to talk with Bill is a privilege. It puts me in mind of the story about Samuel Johnson's work on his monumental Dictionary of the English Language:
Johnson's friend Dr. William Adams marveled that Johnson expected to finish the project in three years; Adams pointed out that it had taken the French Academy's forty members forty years to compile the French dictionary (in fact, it had taken the French Academy fifty-five years). Johnson was said to have replied: "Let me see; forty times forty is sixteen hundred. As three to sixteen hundred, so is the proportion of an Englishman to a Frenchman."
Bill would never say it, but I will. With Bill on our side to supply the brainpower, so is the proportion of a conservative to a liberal. Exactly.
Bill expressed the view that Minnesota's own Tim Pawlenty is vastly underrated as a vice presidential candidate. He even got me to thinking that the Hegseth event might be a cover story for exploratory work on behalf of an undisclosed third-party. There might be a synergy in the making for a Hegseth Senatorial candidacy.
I believe Bill mentioned that he's leaving early tomorrow morning to speak in Florida. At least the speaking engagement was his cover story for the trip.
As the election nears, beware zombies. That's the lesson from Bob Hope in the 1940 film The Ghost Breakers. Herewith, perhaps the greatest line from a movie of all time. But one wonders: who is the voodoo priest?
JOHN adds: Speaking of zombies...this might be a good occasion to reprise "Dawn of the Debt," informally referred to by the prize committee as "Zombies," which tied for third place in the Power Line Prize contest last summer:
We are in the early stages of the 2012 campaign season, with a lot of battlespace preparation going on. In the skirmishing so far, one perhaps surprising media advantage has become clear: the right is clobbering the left on Twitter.
Maybe it's because Twitter puts a premium on brevity and cleverness. I don't know. But for some reason, it seems to be a natural medium for conservatives. We saw it when the Hilary Rosen interview ("Ann Romney never worked a day in her life") prompted a Twitterstorm. We saw it again when #ObamaEatsDogs exploded, and when #Julia blew up in the White House's face like an exploding cigar. Currently, the White House is promoting #AskMichelle, where loyal Democrats can go to ask the First Lady a question. Only nearly all of the questions have come from conservatives. A sampling:
When you vacation in Hawaii, can you see the rise of the oceans beginning to slow? What's up this week for the @BarackObama campaign and "Operation Change the Subject" (to anything except the economy)? Do you still exchange May Day cards with Bill and Bernadette? Do you think your daughters should request affirmative actions preferences? Do you still get Christmas cards from the Rezkos and Blagojeviches? So who succeeded you at that critical, highly important $300k/year community outreach job at UC hospital? I have several friends who specialize in relocation. Shall I give them your number so they can help you relocate in January?
I asked Mrs. Obama this question:
Any comment on the Oprah vs. Michelle excerpt from The Amateur in the New York Post this morning?
They go on and on. You almost feel sorry for the White House. They're going to have to either do a better job of mobilizing their supporters on Twitter, or abandon the medium altogether. If you haven't yet started using Twitter, you should give it a try. You can follow, among countless others, Michelle Malkin, Jim Treacher, David Burge (Iowahawk), Jonah Goldberg, Melissa Clouthier, Big Government, Byron York, Ed Morrissey, Steve Hayward, and, as I said, countless more, including me. Michelle Malkin's site Twitchy is a good Twitter aggregator. Pretty much every politician has a Twitter feed, but for obvious reasons, they aren't as pungent as what you will get from Jim Treacher and Iowahawk.
So if you haven't already done so, it is a good time to join the party on Twitter.
Seven years of student loan interest down the drain!
Today's New York Times has a long front-page feature on student loan debt. Nothing really new here that anyone paying attention doesn't already know, though there are a couple of brush strokes in the article that ought to provoke more than the usual chin-pulling among enlightened Times readers. One of them is the first example, Marlene Griffith, who graduates today from Ohio Northern University after having taken on $120,000 in debt to earn a degree in marketing, and is having to work two restaurant jobs and live with her parents to afford the monthly payments on her student loans.
"As an 18-year-old, it sounded like a good fit to me, and the school really sold it," said Ms. Griffith, a marketing major. "I knew a private school would cost a lot of money. But when I graduate, I'm going to owe like $900 a month. No one told me that."
Stop right there. "No one told me that"??? Is secondary education nowadays so bad that you can't figure out the monthly principal and interest cost of a loan? Maybe my primary education was superior (though it was in a public school), but I learned how to do this, and the perils of compound interest on debt, in the seventh grade. And why don't our "consumer-friendly" regulators requiring student loan vendors to provide a monthly cost estimate as all mortgage lenders are required to do?
On the other side of the coin is a generation of college executives who deserve the fiscal-educational equivalent of keel-hauling.
"I readily admit it," said E. Gordon Gee, the president of Ohio State University, who has also served as president of Vanderbilt and Brown, among others. "I didn't think a lot about costs. I do not think we have given significant thought to the impact of college costs on families."
Easy for Mr. Gee-Whiz to say, with his $2 million pay package at Ohio State. But remember, for Times readers it's private-sector CEOs of major corporations that employ tens of thousands of people and do multi-billions in sales that are overpaid, and don't you forget it. Seems to me there's some easy budget items to cut starting in the executive suites of most colleges and universities.
Of course, economists and many parents say that the only thing worse than graduating with lots of debt is not going to college at all, since study after study has shown that graduates earn more over a lifetime. And most college students in the United States manage to eventually pay back their student loans.
Going Gaga: a metaphysical abyss
I wonder if this will remain true of the current generation of students graduating now. Especially if they've spent time in any of the courses the Fiscal Times identified as the ten craziest college classes that cost big bucks, such as "Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame" at the University of South Carolina (course cost: $3,150 for out of state students); or "The Phallus" at Occidental College (course cost: $5,370); or "DJ History, Culture, and Technique" at New York University (course cost: $4,636). I'll bet our own Scott Johnson could teach a better music class for half that amount. As for the various "oppression studies" departments like black studies, womens' studies, etc, well I guess the irony is lost on all the folks who take out loans to study these rotten fields. Oops-I forgot; we're not supposed to say that.
The cushioned world of higher education-the industrial-education complex anyone?-deserves to collapse flatter and harder than the housing sector. And it probably will.
Obama appeared in Reno, Nevada, to speak outside the garage of Paul and Val Keller on Friday afternoon. The Daily Mail provides the catcalls here. Ace of Spades observes that "Obama stump speech draws dozens."
Let's see. He's got the presidential seal. He's up on the presidential podium. But only Mr. Keller loves him like a rock. Mrs. Keller is not so sure. "I don't know yet," she answered when asked how she'll vote. "I want to wait and see what happens in the economy," she told MyNews4.
Opposition grows to... fingerprinting illegals?
posted on May 12, 2012 by Jazz Shaw
Most of the stories I cover involving my home stomping grounds of New York are uniformly negative, I'm sorry to say. (And yes, that includes the New York Jets.) But the state is what it is. What's a guy to do? This fact makes it all the more pleasant for me, though, when I come across something positive to report, and it seemed as if I'd found just such a story this weekend. Next week the Empire State will finish rolling out a program called Secure Communities.
A program that gives federal immigration officials access to the fingerprints of undocumented immigrants booked into local jails will start Tuesday across New York state despite staunch opposition from advocates and lawmakers, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
A law-enforcement official familiar with the program, called Secure Communities, confirmed that New York City and 30 other jurisdictions would join the 31 communities that already have the program in place. Suffolk, Nassau and Westchester counties, among others, have participated in Secure Communities for more than a year.
Right off the bat, this one should ring up significant support - or so you might think - because it's actually nothing new. We're not talking about some program where cops are cruising the parking lot at Home Depot asking people for "their papers" every morning. This is simply taking the fingerprints of illegal immigrants who are already in jail and charged with a crime and getting them into the right database. The prints were already being sent to the FBI, so shipping them over to ICE shouldn't be much of a leap.

House Dems Receive Training On Portraying Conservatives As Racist

In its latest effort to prevent state and local governments from assisting in the enforcement of immigration laws, President Obama's DOJ has filed an official complaint against Maricopa County, AZ; its Sheriff's Department; and its Sheriff, Joe Arpaio, alleging various violations of the Constitution and federal law.
FAIR's Annual Hold Their Feet to the Fire Engages Americans on True Immigration Reform
Last week, nearly 50 radio hosts from across the nation gathered in Washington, D.C. over two days to join FAIR's annual "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" radio row event.
OBAMA'S SUPPORT FOR GAY MARRIAGE STARTLES NATION - MEDIA PROCLAIM IT A POLITICAL MASTERSTROKE GrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary By Don Feder 05/14/2012
After several seconds of deep reflection, Barack Obama announced late last week that his position had undergone a seismic shift and he now fully supported the absurdity known as gay marriage.
The nation wondered: What next? Would the pope embrace Catholic doctrine? Would Billy Graham signify his support for the New Testament? Would Lindsay Lohan fail a breathalyzer test?
"A gutsy call," chirped The New York Times, and yet more evidence of the Great One's "strong national leadership." If Obama refused emergency medical services after stubbing his toe, The Times would hail his heroic endurance.
If the president's newest position on unholy matrimony is courageous, then his earlier retreat on the issue must have been craven. As a candidate for the Illinois State Senate in 1996, Obama declared "I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages." He was running in a district that made Massachusetts look like Kansas.
By 2004, when he was running for the United States Senate (and in 2008 as a presidential candidate) - and after weighing all of the evidence judiciously for a fraction of a second - the champion of a spurious equality endorsed the view that "marriage is between a man and a woman" a position he's steadfastly maintained (sort of) for eight years, while teasing us with regular hints that his views here were evolving - based on polling data and fundraising imperatives.
After Biden forced Obama's hand, with his Will & Grace rationale for same-sex matrimony on "Meet the Press," the president told ABC News on Wednesday evening, "I think same-sex couples should be able to get married." The statement was made public on Thursday. Of course, there was also the moral imperative of squeezing more money out of Hollywood, which had become what-have-you-done-for-me-lately churlish.
On gay marriage, the president hasn't evolved, he's come out of the closet, dragging a ton of campaign cash from his most committed/demented supporters.
What James K. Polk was to Manifest Destiny, what Ronald Reagan was to stopping the advance of Soviet communism, what John F. Kennedy was to Olympic-class fornication - Barack Hussein Obama is to the Lady Gaga agenda.
In 2009, he appointed Kevin Jennings, founder of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (which sadly neglects the transgendered) head of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools. Apparently, no one from NAMBLA was available for the post.
Besides writing a forward for the book "Queering Elementary Education" (indoctrination can't start too soon), Jennings reportedly told a GLSEN audience in 2000 that, as a private-school teacher in Massachusetts, he once advised a 15-year-old, who told him he had sex with a man after an encounter in a public restroom, "I hope you knew how to use a condom." In later versions of the tale, the victim became 16.
In 2010, a beaming Obama signed repeal of Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell (having engineered its passage by a lame duck Congress), allowing homosexuals to serve openly in the military.
In so doing, the master of Newspeak proclaimed: "This law I'm about to sign will strengthen our national security and uphold the ideals that our fighting men and women risk their lives to defend." Little did the men lying in graves in Normandy know that when they died on Omaha Beach it was so that one day their successors could be leered at in showers by members of a "sexual minority."
Give him the benefit of the doubt, Obama may actually believe that increasing the anxiety of guys serving in combat supports national security. After all, he thinks killing the Keystone Pipeline lessens our dependence on Middle Eastern oil, and trillion-dollar deficits lead to prosperity.
In 2011, President Gay-Okay made securing homosexual rights abroad a priority of U.S. foreign policy.
In a December address to the U.N. Human Rights Council (an oxymoron) in Geneva, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced that promoting gay rights in nations devastated by AIDS was now a key goal of U.S. foreign policy. According to the Associated Press: "Many of the ambassadors in the audience responded with stony faces and rushed out of the room as soon as she finished speaking." Don't they get "Will & Grace" in developing nations?
At the same time, Hillary's boss ordered U.S. agencies to give priority treatment to gay, lesbian and whatever refugees and asylum-seekers - not to persecuted Christians, not to women seeking to escape the deadly embrace of Shariah, but to individuals most likely to be STD-carriers.
Early in his administration, the man the Constitution requires to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed," decided that his Justice Department would no longer defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), without which the federal judiciary would force the 31 states that have banned gay marriages to recognize those contracted in other states.
DOMA passed by a vote of 342 to 67 in the House and 85 to 14 in the Senate, and was signed into law by Hillary's hubby in 1996. In violation of his oath of office, Obama decided not to enforce it because he doesn't like it, again demonstrating his disdain for the rule of law.
While the president was trying out for the revival of "A Chorus Line," the talking heads were puzzling over the political ramifications of the move. "On gay marriage, who will pay the price - Obama or Romney?" asked a May 11 headline in The Baltimore Sun. Headline from 1980 election: "Who will pay the price for the Tehran hostage crisis - Carter or Reagan?"
Friday's Rasmussen Poll showed Romney with a 7-point lead over the president (50% to 43%). For the first time, the governor garnered the support of half the American people, going head-to-head with Obama. What could account for Romney's sudden surge - a new haircut?
The day after the president's shocking change of course, North Carolina - site of this year's Democratic National Convention - became the 31st state to constitutionally define marriage as the union of a man and a woman.
In 2008, Obama carried the state by 0.3% of the vote. Last week, 61% of Tar Heel voters rejected gay marriage. Hertford County (60% black), went for the amendment by 70%.
In all 32 states where gay-marriage has appeared on the ballot (in one form or another), what the president now declares to be a matter of fairness and common sense was resoundingly defeated, most by over 60% This ranged from a low of 52% for traditional marriage in California (2008), to highs of 81% in Tennessee and Alabama (both in 2006).
There are five states that Obama carried by less than 3% of the vote in 2008 that have all passed marriage-protection amendments by landslide majorities.
Ohio, Florida and Virginia are crucial swing states. Four years ago, Obama carried them by 51.5%, 51.03% and 52.63% respectively. The same states passed marriage-protection amendments by 62%, (2004), 62% (2008) and 57% (2006).
Now, mavens of political punditry, tell me again how Obama's new-new gay-marriage position will help him win reelection?
The 2012 election will not be a referendum on gay marriage - any more than on abortion, illegal immigration or the price of gas at the pump. Like most, I expect the election to hinge on the economy. But, beyond dedicated constituencies which do care about such seeming inconsequentials as the value of human life and the family, the president's embrace of homosexual marriage is another piece of a Twilight Zone mosaic.
Choosing a president often comes down to which candidate falls within voters' comfort zone - which is why the electorate picked painfully inarticulate George W. Bush over smug smart-ass Al Gore in 2000.
How comfortable will Americans be voting for a man who says there's nothing special about America, America isn't a Christian nation, Moslems should be able to build a mosque near the ruins of the World Trade Center, the goal of tax policy is to "spread the wealth," and if he had a son, he'd look like Trayvon Martin.
Touting his historic achievements - the smallest workforce since 1981, 2011 GDP growth below anemic (1.7%), a doubling of gas prices and a 50% increase in the National Debt since he came to office - the president assured us, "We've begun to see what change looks like."
In Obama's America, change looks like Karl Marx in a hoodie and a pink tutu pirouetting at a same-sex wedding ceremony performed by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright at the Ground Zero Mosque - while millions (in the media) cheered.

From Jim: We have a preliminary victory already! Thanks to your faxes and calls since last week, the House has passed a budget reconciliation bill that includes an amendment offered by Rep. Sam Johnson of Texas that prevents Additional Child Tax Credits from going to illegal aliens. But, we still have ahead of us the much more difficult task of making sure this amendment survives the Senate!
Travesty! The IRS Paying Illegal Aliens $1,000 Per Child In Other Countries!
Are you outraged yet? The IRS knowingly enables illegal aliens to defraud American taxpayers. It's true: When an illegal alien has no Social Security Number, the IRS issues a special Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN). The alien can then use that to file a tax return. But he's not paying taxes; he's getting your tax money!
Not only does he generally get back all the money he paid that year, he can ask $1,000 for each of a list of children he writes down on the tax return. They don't need to be his own children. They don't even need to live with him, or live in America at all!
The IRS will send him the money, no questions asked. The more foreign children he claims, the more money they send him. It's almost as if he was being thanked and rewarded for being an illegal alien, isn't it? It sounds too preposterous to be real, but it's exactly what's happening. And the Treasury Department Inspector General for Tax Administration says, "the magnitude of the problem has grown exponentially."
We need to stop this. Every year the IRS sends $4.2 Billion to people who admit to being illegal aliens, even for children who do not live in this country. In fact, 72% of all illegal aliens who file a tax return using the tax number for illegal aliens (the ITIN) receive this so-called "Additional Child Tax Credit." If we as a nation wanted to encourage more illegal aliens, could we devise something more enticing even if we worked at it a thousand years?
Don't you want to see this reward for crime abolished? Don't you want to save America billions of dollars? Finally, Rep. Jack Kingston of Georgia (H.R.3444) and Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana (S.577) have introduced bills that would close the loophole and shut off cold this gravy train for illegal aliens... if we can press Congress to act.
Please send a generous donation now, to allow us to do everything in our power to pass the reform bills and stop rewarding crime!
I hope I'm getting across that these child credits for foreign children claimed by illegal aliens are NOT a small problem. More than TWO MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS receive these subsidies! So far, Congress couldn't care less. (If you want to hear all the facts about the ACTC, please look at the replay of our webcast from Thursday.)
Congress will only stop rewarding illegal immigration when they hear about nothing else. Please send us a donation, and we'll be able to yell a whole lot louder. Did you know less than 10% of NumbersUSA members even help us pay our bills? And in the last few months, it's been less than that by a good shot
So please, send a generous donation now, then go to your NumbersUSA Action Board and send the faxes on this subject, and sign the new petition. We're serious and committed. If you will help us, we will stop this thing.

Deception Fatigue
By John Griffing
Over the past three years, President Obama has demonstrated his willingness to lie about anything and everything if it leads to the acquisition and retention of maximum power for himself and his cohorts. Obama follows a pattern of overloading the system with deception, making responses to every individual distortion impractical or outright impossible. While Obama's opponents spend their precious time addressing each new lie, Obama keeps the focus off the end-zone, and seizures of power previously unthinkable are accomplished.
At some point, citizens grow weary of hearing that their leaders are out for their ill, that political policies are nothing more than grand deceptions. Who wants to believe that his president is a serial liar that seeks to impose full Socialism on the land of the free? Some truths are too big to contemplate -- an observation that would lead one of the world's most successful propagandists to write:
It would never come into their [the people's] heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.
This strategy has a name; it is called "The Big Lie," and it depends in part on a fundamental truth of human nature: fatigue.
Now that it has been established that a candidate's teenage years help define the man to come, it might be time to take a new look at the adolescent Obama and his then-mentor, the late Frank Marshall Davis.
I would guess that not one Obama voter out of one hundred could identify Davis by name, and I doubt if one media person out of a thousand has read his memoir, Livin' the Blues. This is unfortunate on any number of levels. For one, Davis's book captures the ebb and flow of 20th-century black American life as well as any ever written.
For another, no one individual influenced the young Obama more than Davis has. This combination should have made Davis a staple of the multicultural canon and a pin-up in every reporter's cubicle, but it did neither. Like Boo Radley, Davis remains in the shadows for one reason: the media fear what the light would do to him. For all of Davis's gifts, and they are many, his lifelong flirtation with darkness makes him a little too creepy for his own display case in the Barack Obama presidential library.
Discouraged Democrat Voters May Mean Historic Sweep for GOP By Bruce Walker
Most polls, Rasmussen excepted, continue to show that neither presidential candidate is pulling away from the other and that close Senate races have shifting leads. Primary elections, however, are showing a very different situation -- and it is voters who turn out in elections, not random Americans called by pollsters, who determine the winners and losers in politics. If the latest news can be believed -- and we have every reason to believe it -- there is a conservative voting trend building, and its momentum is going to make it truly terrifying for liberals come November.
Let's start at the beginning. In the first place, Rasmussen, which polls likely voters, has shown for years now that a huge chunk of Americans "strongly disapprove" of the job Obama is doing. On May 10, for example, more than twice as many Americans strongly disapproved of Obama's job performance as "strongly approve" of the job he is doing.
Gallup in March showed an enthusiasm-gap edge that Republicans had over Democrats of 53% to 45%. This is particularly important because Rasmussen, on a month-by-month poll, shows consistently that more Americans call themselves Republican than Democrat. More troubling for Obama is that Gallup recently published a poll which showed that his strongest age group of support -- voters 18 to 29 -- strongly favor Obama over Romney, but only 56% say that they will definitely vote. Meanwhile, the older voters -- especially voters 65 and older -- strongly tilt towards Romney, and 86% of these voters say that they will vote.
On Today's ProgramForward: Obama wants another stimulus package What has the brilliant, soaring genius that is Barack Obama come up with to save America's economy? Another stimulus package! Because it worked so well the first time and the second time and the third time. Fourth time's a charm, right? More on the latest stimulus HERE.

6pm - Real News: Obama is pushing for stimulus 2.0, a billion dollar bet that sounds all too similar to the first stimulus. Tonight on Real News, we'll review the specific economic fixes the Obama Administration has already attempted, and if this proposal is just more of the same.
Newsweek columnist compares Ann Romney to Hitler, Stalin When Glenn called out the Obama administration for having far too many administration officials who loved quoting Mao and other deadly dictators, he was criticized. But so far it's been crickets in the MSM as a Newsweek editor compared Ann Romney to Hitler & Stalin. What prompted the comparison?
Eva Longoria says the dumbest things Eva Longoria would do very well for herself if she continued acting and stayed out of politics completely. Eva is apparently on some committee and decided to speak out against Marco Rubio. Glenn has the clip & response HERE.
Claim: In 2008 Obama offered Wright $150k to keep quiet Did the '08 Obama Campaign really offer Jeremiah Wright $150k to keep quiet until after the election? We have no idea, but that's one of the many controversial claims made in the book The Amateur. This morning on radio, Glenn went through this claim and gave his thoughts on the likelihood that this may have actually happened.
Is Joe Biden drunk (again)? Creepy audio Glenn played the disturbing audio on radio today featuring Vice President Joe Biden sounding like he's heavily sedated. He's talking (pandering) to a group of students and telling them just how awesome they are. This isn't the first time Biden has been captured on video sounding less than smart and less than sober. Check out the latest Biden epic gaffe HERE.

Arlen Specter likens American voters to'cannibals' Arlen Specter was very, very upset about Bob Bennett's election loss at the hands of what he called 'cannibals' who he claims are 'taking over' the country. In other parts of the country those 'cannibals' are referred to as 'voters' - Specter couldn't believe they'd turn after 'one vote to support the bail out of the auto industry'. Glenn reacts on radio today.
