New Obama Executive Order Pushes Us Closer To A North American Union And A One World Economic System
When it comes to Barack Obama, one of the most important things to understand is that he is a committed globalist. He firmly believes that more "global governance" (the elite don't like to use the term "global government") will make the world a much better place. Throughout his time in the White House, Obama has consistently sought to strengthen international institutions such as the UN, the IMF, the World Bank and the WTO. At every turn, Obama has endeavored to more fully integrate America into the "global community". Since he was elected, Obama has signed a whole host of new international economic agreements. He regularly speaks of the need for "cooperation" among global religions and he has hosted a wide variety of different religious celebrations at the White House. Obama once stated that "all nations must come together to build a stronger global regime". If you do not want to live in a "global regime" that is just too bad. To globalists such as Obama, it is inevitable that the United States of America will be merged into the emerging global system. Just this week, Obama has issued a new executive order that seeks to "harmonize" U.S. economic regulations with the rest of the world. This new executive order is yet another incremental step that is pushing us closer to a North American Union and a one world economic system. Unfortunately, most Americans have absolutely no idea what is happening.
The Obama slogan for 2012 is in and it's "Forward", which is a compact version of that old classic, "Don't change horses in the middle of a stream" that every incumbent is forced to run on sooner or later. Forward implies that there's no alternative but to go backward, which is a place that no right-thinking person wants to go.
The left has always been enamored of "Forwardism" or "Progressivism" which mean much the same thing. Before MSNBC had Lean Forward, Mao had the Great Leap Forward which killed some 40 million people, far more people than MSNBC can ever dream of tuning in to their programs.
When Lenin wanted to launch his own newspaper, he called it, "Vperod" or Forward. The name still lingers on among the left and appears on the mastheads of newspapers across the world. It's Vorwarts in Germany, Voorwarts in the Netherlands and Ila al-Amam in the Arab world. Back in New York it's The Forward, the venerable blotting paper of the Jewish left.
There are any number of left-wing political parties who have already named themselves "Forward", including the Forward Communist Party of India, Kadima, the left-wing opposition party in Israel, and Vperod, a Russian political party that split off from the Socialist Resistance on account of the latter not being radical enough.
Picking "Forward" as his campaign slogan puts Obama in good company with the likes of Lenin and Mao, and it sounds positive until you stop and realize that it's meant more as an order than a suggestion. There's a reason most leftist newspapers with that name add an exclamation mark at the end of it. It's not a proposal, it's a command. Lean forward, march forward, live forward and then die forward. We've burned the bridges, run up the deficit and trashed the economy so there's no going back.
An old Soviet era joke told the story of the wife of a Communist leader who upon hearing that her husband had developed a progressive paralysis, clapped her hands and exclaimed that at least it was progressive. That is the underlying message of "Forward" to voters, the country may be paralyzed, but at least it's a progressive paralysis which leaves us unable to move our heads and stop leaning forward while the Entertainer in Chief croons to us about the wonderful world to come.
This explains our budget dilemma in terms anyone can understand - I recall at Tea Party meeting many folks don't have clue about the problem - this is excellent
This is non political and very well done.

By allowing our attention to be focused exclusively on the danger and prevention of terrorism, we ignore the many other ways we are being attacked. Specifically, we are missing what our Islamist enemies call their 'civilization jihad' - a form of warfare that employs manipulative financial techniques, lawfare, infiltration of our civil institutions and government and insidious information dominance. Together, these have the effect of exploiting our liberties and governing structures against us, so that our leaders wind up imposing the very anti-American values that our enemies promote.
Welcome to The Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Enemy Within - a 10-part, web-based video briefing that is designed to explain why and how this is happening.
It addresses a threat most Americans are unaware even exists within our country, let alone the degree of peril it represents. The threat is the totalitarian, supremacist Islamic doctrine its adherents call "shariah" and the organized, disciplined and increasingly successful efforts by such adherents-- most especially the Muslim Brotherhood-- to bring it here.
We are making this course available in the hope of encouraging, informing and broadening support for national efforts to defeat the insinuation into this country of shariah's anti-constitutional and seditious program.
Muslim Brotherhood in America: The Overview
PLEASE FORWARD TO OTHERS... There's safety in numbers...
Here's a way you can lend a hand with our continuing struggle to warn the sleeping world about the dangers of radical Islam.
Clarion films, which produced the block busters Obsession, The Third Jihad and Iranium is stepping up its efforts to get these films shown. I remember how happy I was when Obsession was first released. At last I had a way to reach the people I was trying to educate into a post 9/11 awareness. I distributed as many of the DVDs as I could.
Now you can help Ryan Mauro, a national security analyst on FOX News Channel, educate more people about sharia and jihad. Ryan is with RadicalIslam.org, the Clarion Fund's website. He is spearheading a new grassroots initiative to show these important films to local communities such as churches, synagogues, GOP/DNC/Tea Party groups, national security conferences or any other venue that may be interested.
No speaker's fee is required but travel expenses and a small screening license fee are requested.
I'm sure you will pass this along to all your contacts so we can really make a difference in our country's willingness to protect itself against sharia and jihad.
Other Tea Parties who help man the table are invited to bring material promoting their own group. Also bring a donation can labeled with your group's name.
Please respond to me with dates and hours you can help. This will be an excellent way to reach numerous people and perhaps gain some new members. Lou Louis@apo146.com

Let's get together and talk about what we did right and what went wrong on Primary Day in our area! This is the only way for all of us to effectively continue to make a difference in local politics.
We all came together back in 2009 because we were outraged by the election of Barack Obama, the passage of Obamacare and the direction of our country financially and ideologically. The time has come, perhaps our last chance to truly make a stance, for us to unite and work to defeat the progressive agenda which has already infiltrated us so deeply. The first step towards a big win in November starts now! So, we, at The Kitchen Table Patriots, urge you to come out this to make a difference, we can plug you in where you are needed.
This is where you can make a difference that really matters!
DID YOU KNOW THAT TEACHERS HAVE TO JOIN THE UNION WHETHER THEY WANT TO OR NOT, AND UNION DUES IS TAKEN OUT OF THEIR PAY CHECK BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT?
AND THEN DID YOU KNOW THAT YOUR SCHOOL BOARD HAS TO WRITE A CHECK TO THE TEACHER'S UNIONS TO PAY TEACHER'S DUES?
YOU CAN PROBABLY FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS DUES MONEY IS USED FOR IN HARRISBURG!
GUESS WHO IS PAYING FOR ALL OF THIS? Right, you the taxpayer!
Do you know what can happen when all of this is changed?
Come out and learn more from
Simon Campbell, an excellent and entertaining speaker (yes, even on this subject).
Simon currently serves as Vice President of the Pennsbury Board of School Directors so he knows how it works from the inside. After a 21-day teacher's strike in his district he started a grassroots group, StopTeacherStrikes to advocate for PA to become the 38th state to make teacher's strikes illegal. Simon also served on the board of Pennsylvanians for Right to Work.
He regularly speaks on the need to end compulsory unionism and other aspects of public sector union political power.
Q&A session and more to follow.

Obama New Book: "Dreams From My Second Term"
Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution
Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101"course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.
Featuring 113 primary source documents, The U.S. Constitution: A Reader was developed for teaching the core course on the U.S. Constitution at Hillsdale College.
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Editorial Note: Just received a couple of copies of the reader. Not just a short course pamphlet this; with the heft of 'Atlas Shrugged', it is well worth getting whether or not you choose to take the course.
About Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs.
Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:
For Tea Parties, this can be used as basic ammunition for letters to the editor, columns for your local news outlet, handouts at public events, emailing the pdf to our elected reps as well as to members, friends and neighbors.
This appears to be an excellent resource; let's make use of it.

Dear By revealing the Nazi and Marxist origins of groups such as the Muslim Students Association and Students for Justice in Palestine and the connections between these organizations and terrorist activities around the globe, Muslim Hate Groups on Campus sheds light on the dark undercurrent of anti-Semitism which flows unobstructed through our most prestigious institutions of higher education.
On Thursday, our staff finalized the most explosive resource that Grassfire has ever published. It's called 69 Obama Lies. It's a Fantastic Resource for this election year!
I believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough "vetting" of Obama's actual words in print. And I know it is going to outrage the Left because we actually hold Obama accountable for what he said!
Dear Patriot,
About six weeks ago, our staff set out with the goal of putting the "truth detector" to what Obama has actually said. What we realized is Obama has lied so pervasively and thoroughly that even our staff had forgotten many of his most outrageous fibs! That's when we realized we had to create a written record of the Obama Lies.
69 Obama Lies is organized in six sections that cover everything from the lies Obama has told about himself (we call these "ObamaLies"), to his campaign lies, his lies about government and taxes, ObamaCare and domestic and foreign policy.
They are all here -- and footnoted so you will have complete documentation. We start with the ObamaLies -- his denial of Rev. Wright.... the "normalcy" of his church... the Bill Ayers lie... the ACORN lie... and Obama's "Brother's Keeper" lie which exposes his Marxist core.
Let's be clear -- it was these "ObamaLies" along with his campaign lies that got Obama elected in the first place. Obama's ability to cloak his real beliefs and his real associations (with the willing help of the liberal media) kept his campaign moving forward.
But we don't stop there....
+ + Obama's "Big Government" Lies
69 Obama Lies also tracks the BIG LIE that Obama sold to the American people just after Inauguration Day -- that massive deficit spending would "create and save" jobs and restore the economy.
It was all a LIE. We know that now. But it is vitally important to have the facts laid out in an orderly fashion. That's precisely what 69 Obama Lies does. We expose the full range of Obama's Big Government lies...
The "Create Or Save Jobs" Lie...
The Stimulus Law is Working" Lie...
The "I'll Cut The Deficit" Lie...
The "Government Motors" Lie...
The "Cash for Clunkers" Lie...
The "Rich Pay Less In Taxes" Lie...
+ + Border Lies, ObamaCare Lies... Energy Lies...
69 Obama Lies literally covers every aspect of Obama's presidency -- from his lies about border security and immigration to his lies about gas prices and green jobs.
We saved a whole section for Obama's signature legislative "achievement" -- ObamaCare. We've identified a Baker's Dozen of fibs Obama told just to get ObamaCare passed.
And please note that each of the 69 Obama Lies is like a mini research report -- clearly laying out the specific Obama lie and fully documenting our sources.
If you can help Grassfire with a contribution of ANY AMOUNT (even a few dollars to cover printing and shipping), we'll send you TWO COPIES of "69 Obama Lies" -- one to keep and one to share with a friend.
We have asked the printer to rush the first printing of 69 Obama Lies so we can get this resource into our team members' hands as quickly as possible.
As a result, we expect to begin shipping 69 Obama Lies the week of April 23.
In order to be included in our first shipment, please let me hear from you as soon aspossible. Go here to request your two copies:
I truly believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough and most important resource Grassfire has ever created. And I want to put it in the hands of every Grassfire team member.
Please take a moment to order your two copies of 69 Obama Lies today, and thanks for the stand you are taking.
Patriots, this booklet will assist in setting the record straight with swing voters, moderates, and even Democrats! This is the best resource I have seen to prove the lies from Obama - out of his own mouth- versus the truth or facts. This is the resource of this 2012 Presidential election year.
Want Obama out? Then obtain multiple copies of this booklet and share with friends, neighbors, co-workers, church family, and your tea party. To win we must be equipped! This is the best weapon for your arsenal of resources to beat Obama!

Houston - The 2012 elections will feature many close races, likely including the presidential contest. That makes concern about voter fraud and ballot integrity all the more meaningful, and a conference held here last weekend by the watchdog group True the Vote made clear just how high the stakes are.
"Unfortunately, the United States has a long history of voter fraud that has been documented by historians and journalists," Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens wrote in 2008, upholding a strict Indiana voter-ID law designed to combat fraud. Justice Stevens, who personally encountered voter fraud while serving on various reform commissions in his native Chicago, spoke for a six-member majority. In a decision two years earlier clearing the way for an Arizona ID law, the Court had declared in a unanimous opinion that "confidence in the integrity of our electoral processes is essential to the functioning of our participatory democracy. Voter fraud drives honest citizens out of the democratic process and breeds distrust of our government. Voters who fear their legitimate votes will be outweighed by fraudulent ones will feel disenfranchised."
Indeed, a brand-new Rasmussen Reports poll finds that 64 percent of Americans believe voter fraud is a serious problem, with whites registering 63 percent agreement and African-Americans 64 percent. A Fox News poll taken last month found that 70 percent of Americans support requiring voters to show "state or federally issued photo identification" to prove their identity and citizenship before casting a ballot. Majorities of all demographic groups agreed on the need for photo ID, including 58 percent of non-white voters, 52 percent of liberals, and 52 percent of Democrats.
Catherine Englebrecht, the Houston businesswoman and mother who founded True the Vote in 2009 after witnessing an ACORN-style group registering thousands of illegal or nonexistent voters in Houston, told the voter observers from 32 states gathered for the summit: "There is nothing more important this year than your work in making sure legitimate votes aren't canceled out by fraud."
Liberal groups ranging from the ACLU to the NAACP oppose voter-ID laws, claiming that voter fraud is almost nonexistent and that an ID requirement would amount to voter suppression. It's certainly true that in-person voter fraud - the type of fraud most easily fought with voter-ID laws - isn't the whole picture. Voter-ID laws must be combined with tighter controls on absentee ballots, the tool of choice of fraudsters. But filmmaker James O'Keefe demonstrated just last month how easy - and almost impossible to detect - voter impersonation can be: A white 22-year-old assistant of O'Keefe's was offered the Washington, D.C., primary ballot of Attorney General Eric Holder, the most visible opponent of ID laws.
Just this week in Fort Worth, Texas, a Democratic precinct chairwoman was indicted on charges of arranging an illegal vote. Hazel Woodard James has been charged with conspiring with her non-registered son to have him vote in place of his father. The only reason the crime was detected was that the father showed up later in the day to vote at the same precinct. Most fraudsters are smart enough to have their accomplices cast votes in the names of dead people on the voter rolls, who are highly unlikely to appear and complain that someone else voted in their place.
One of the highlights of the True the Vote conference was a speech by Artur Davis, who was a Democratic congressman from Alabama until last year. Davis has been an up-and-coming black Democratic leader, having been selected to second the nomination of Barack Obama at the 2008 Democratic convention in Denver.
But in 2009 he decided to vote against Obamacare because he viewed it as unworkable and too expensive. When he ran the next year in the Democratic primary for governor in Alabama, he was attacked as disloyal and defeated by a coalition of liberals, teachers' unions, and old-style black political machines.
He told me that the voter suppression he most observed in his 68 percent African-American district was rampant fraud in counties with powerful political machines. To keep themselves in power, these machines would frequently steal the votes of members of minority groups. "I know it exists, I've had the chance to steal votes in my favor offered to me, and the people it hurts the most are the poor and those without power," he said.
Davis made it clear in his speech to True the Vote that much of the opposition to voter-ID and ballot-integrity laws is a sad attempt to inject racism into the discussion and intimidate supporters of anti-fraud laws. "This is not a billy club, this is not a fire hose," he told his audience while holding up his driver's license. "Where is this notion that if I have a right [to vote], that I don't have to be bothered with responsibility?" He concluded with an appeal for all sides to eschew racial appeals: "We have to be one country, but the way you become one country is you stop acting like a country that's divided into different buckets and bases of people."
It's a pity that so much of the discussion about voting this fall will be drenched in race. Americans have two important rights when it comes to voting. The first is the right to vote without fear and intimidation, for which this country fought an epic civil-rights struggle in the 1960s. Those gains in voter access must be preserved. But Americans also have a right to vote without their ballots' being canceled out by people who are voting twice, are voting for the dead or nonexistent, or are non-citizens. We can and should accomplish two goals in the 2012 election - making sure it is easy to vote, and making sure it is hard to cheat. Groups such as True the Vote will be essential to make sure both sides of that imperative are fulfilled.

Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak-peek at the RNC's new Facebook application. Designed, in the words of one RNC staffer to "take our message where the people are," the Social Victory Center appwill, among other things, hook users up with campaign news targeted based on their location and preferences (which Facebook already knows, of course), let users join volunteer efforts, distribute voter registration forms, and provide an online phone bank, all without leaving the Facebook website. It will also, if users wish, put those activities on the user's Facebook wall, letting their friends see what they're up to and, hopefully, encouraging them to join in.
It's an attempt to leverage Facebook's popularity in a new way and, at the moment, the Democrats have nothing like it. The Social Victory Center was unveiled to the public yesterday, so if you're on Facebook, check it out. As the general election ramps up, check back for volunteer activities as they're added. Also, like I did in 2008, I'll be pushing online phone banking in the final weeks of the election, only this time the RNC will have done the heavy-lifting that the McCain team wasn't too keen on.

He has killed whatever was left of the "Special Relationship" by repeatedly stabbing America's most loyal ally, Britain, in the back: returning the Winston Churchill bust; snubbing a visiting British Prime Minister with a gift of a box of crappy DVDs (when in return Obama got a really thoughtful present: an ornamental pen-holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet); stoking up further anti-Brit resentment by referring constantly to the multinational BP as "British Petroleum"-a name it hasn't used in over a decade.
One year ago today, Seal Team Six landed in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and succeeded in bringing Osama bin Laden to ultimate justice. Though some may wish to bask in the glow of that success, now is not the time to celebrate or lay down arms. Bin Laden may be dead, but serious threats against the United States live on, both here in the homeland and around the globe.
President Obama, though, is using the occasion to boost his re-election efforts with a self-congratulatory campaign ad. Heritage's James Carafano writes, "If Lincoln had spent the entire Gettysburg Address talking about himself, it wouldn't have been quite that crass." And last night, the president made a campaign stop in Afghanistan where he delivered a speech remarking that the "dark cloud of war" is breaking way to "the light of a new day on the horizon" as U.S. troops continue to be withdrawn from the country. "This time of war began in Afghanistan, and this is where it will end," he declared.
But hours before the president spoke, Americans received a stark reminder that threats do not end at the time and place of our choosing. Late Monday, the FBI arrested five self-proclaimed anarchists who had planted what they believed to be explosives at the base a bridge over Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio as part of the international May Day protest. Thankfully, law enforcement foiled their plot, and the men were using inoperable explosives obtained from an undercover FBI agent.
Unlike previous attempted terrorist attacks, the Ohio plot was not inspired by Islamism or hatched in the rugged mountains of Afghanistan. However, Islamist-inspired terrorist threats are by no means a thing of the past. Since 9/11, at least 50 Islamist-inspired plots against the homeland have been thwarted through the concerted efforts of U.S. intelligence and law enforcement. Without a doubt, more attempts are being hatched, and a target remains painted on American soil. Shrinking the U.S. military or retreating from the world stage will do nothing to diminish those threats.
However, as we saw last night, that is the path that President Obama would like to pursue. With bin Laden's death serving as a notch of victory on his belt and with troops coming home from Afghanistan in accordance with an artificial timeline, the president is primed to make his pitch to the American people that this is a job well done. But there are more innings to be played in this Long War against terrorism, and other threats remain in every corner of the world.
That's why this month The Heritage Foundation is hosting its fourth annual "Protect America Month" in which leading conservatives and defense experts will deliver speeches and author a series of papers showcasing the need for America to commit to defending itself. In the first in a series of Protect America Month "America At Risk" memos, Matthew Spalding, PhD, Vice President of American Studies at The Heritage Foundation, writes that the federal government and its elected officials have an existential obligation to ensure that America is defended:
It is the constitutional duty of the federal government to secure the country's international borders and preserve and protect its territorial integrity, to strengthen and preserve its constitutional government, and to promote the long-term prosperity and well-being of its people. This means that the United States must be able, willing, and prepared at all times to defend itself, its people, and its institutions from conventional and unconventional threats to its vital interests, both at home and abroad.
Unfortunately, under this Administration, the military is facing significant cuts that severely undermine America's ability to defend itself and stand ready to combat the threats that lie around the corner.
Those threats could very well emerge from Afghanistan if the Taliban are allowed to return to power, creating a breeding ground for al-Qaeda. In his speech last night, President Obama announced the signing of a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Afghanistan, making clear that the United States will retain a force presence in the country long after 2014. That is a sliver of good news, but Heritage's Lisa Curtis explains, "that does not erase the mistakes the Obama Administration has made in setting arbitrary timelines for withdrawal of combat forces and failing to explain the stakes for the U.S. in Afghanistan to the American people for so long."
The threat in Afghanistan remains, and the mission to protect America must continue. The president spoke last night of pursuing talks with the Taliban, yet hours later Taliban forces attacked a private compound with a car bomb, followed by gun fire, killing seven people and injuring 17 others. Clearly, the prospects for a political settlement with the Taliban remain remote.
The United States must recognize that it cannot wish away threats or retreat into retreat into its fortress. There are no castle walls high enough to prevent another 9/11, and turning away from enemies abroad will not make them go away. The U.S. military must be prepared to combat future threats, America's law enforcement and intelligence communities must have the tools to prevent terrorist attacks at home, and our elected officials must recognize their constitutional obligation to protect America from its enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Bernanke: Be Humble! ... "Humble" is typically not an attribute associated with theFederal Reserve (Fed), especially in light of the trillions of dollars recently printed. Yet, in his latest press conference Fed Chairman Bernanke called for humility: we must be humble in setting monetary policy! The problem is, Bernanke's definition of the word "humble" appears to be something entirely different from what - in our humble opinion - common sense might expect. - Axel Merk/Merk Funds
A Quinnipiac poll in April showed Chris Christie as the most popular potential Republican vice-presidential candidate, thanks to his budget cuts and standing up to government employees' unions. But the governor of New Jersey has a problem, specifically an Islam problem, that can and should get in the way of his possible ascent to higher office. Time and again he has sided with Islamist forces against those who worry about safeguarding American security and civilization.
Speaking at the April 25 New York Times annual meeting, Arthur Sulzberger Jr., chairman of The New York Times Company, tried to justify the rejection of an ad calling attention to the alleged oppressive nature of the Islamic religion and the "vengeful, hateful and violent teachings" of Islam's prophet. He said the ad might incite violence in the Middle East.
Irony - Police Shut-down Event Promoting U.S. Constitution. Thomas More Law Center Files Lawsuit against Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI); Allegan Officials
ANN ARBOR, MI - In the middle of an event to extol the virtues of the U.S. Constitution and "American Laws For American Courts," the audience learned first-hand how easy it is to lose their freedom of Speech and Assembly.Amid shouts of "What about free speech?" from the audience, the Allegan Police Department ordered the event shut-down. School officials notified police that they had received a letter complaining about the event from Dawud Walid, Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI). The letter asked the school to disallow the event despite an existing contract. CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism funding trial in U. S. history, U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation.
Aside from provoking shock, disgust, and denial, last week's news of Egyptian parliamentarians trying to pass a "farewell intercourse" law legalizing sex with one's wife up to six hours after she dies has yet to be fully appreciated.
To start, consider the ultimate source of this practice: it's neither the Muslim Brotherhood nor the Salafis; rather, as with most of Islam's perversities-from adult breastfeeding to pedophilia marriage-Islamic necrophilia is traced to the fount of Islam, its prophet Muhammad, as found in a hadith (or tradition) that exists in no less than six of Islam's classical reference texts, including Kanz al-'Umal by Mutaqi al-Hindi and Al-Hujja fi Biyan al-Mahujja, an authoritative text on Sunni Doctrine, by Abu Qassim al-Asbahani.According to this hadith, Muhammad took off his shirt and placed it on a dead woman and "lay" with her in the grave.
The Left's May Day terrorism campaign got underway a day early Monday as at least seven Wells Fargo bank branches in Manhattan reportedly began receiving suspicious envelopes containing white powder in the mail.
America's unruly children are vowing to take to the streets and shut down some of America's major cities this May Day.
It is appropriate that the Occupy Wall Street mob should act up and/or act-out on May Day.
May Day is the day set aside as a celebration day for the communists of the world. OWS's agenda is anchored deeply in socialism and communism so it is only right and proper that they celebrate something/protest this May Day.
Britain controlled about one-fourth of the Earth's land surface and one-fifth of the world's population in 1939. Fifty years later, its holdings outside the British Isles had become trivial, and it even faced an insurgency in Northern Ireland. Britain spent the intervening years developing strategies to cope with what poet Rudyard Kipling called its "recessional," or the transient nature of Britain's imperial power. It has spent the last 20 years defining its place not in the world in general but between continental Europe and the United States in particular.
Most Americans assume that they have a right of privacy guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and, while several of the Bill of Rights imply this right, it is not specifically expressed. However, it is understood. In a Supreme Court case, Meyer v Nebraska, 1923, Justice McReynolds perhaps said it best:
Bang for your buck: that's what the Freedom Center provides. Ammunition for the culture war against the Left: that's what your contribution buys. So please act now and help us in the fight we are waging on many fronts for America's future. America is under assault from within and without. There is no time to lose.
The Crusades are quite possibly the most misunderstood event in European history. Most of what passes for public knowledge about it is either misleading or just plain wrong.
Misconceptions about the Crusades are all too common. The Crusades are generally portrayed as a series of holy wars against Islam led by power-mad popes and fought by religious fanatics. They are supposed to have been the epitome of self-righteousness and intolerance, a black stain on the history of the Catholic Church in particular and Western civilization in general. A breed of proto-imperialists, the Crusaders introduced Western aggression to the peaceful Middle East and then deformed the enlightened Muslim culture, leaving it in ruins. For variations on this theme, one need not look far. See, for example, Steven Runciman's famous three-volume epic, History of the Crusades, or the BBC/A&E documentary, The Crusades, hosted by Terry Jones. Both are terrible history yet wonderfully entertaining.
So what is the truth about the Crusades? Scholars are still working some of that out. But much can already be said with certainty. For starters, the Crusades to the East were in every way defensive wars. They were a direct response to Muslim aggression-an attempt to turn back or defend against Muslim conquests of Christian lands.
A huge Muslim problem: InbreedingBy Bryan FischerNicolai Sennels is a Danish psychologist who has done extensive research into a little-known problem in the Muslim world: the disastrous results of Muslim inbreeding brought about by the marriage of first-cousins.
This practice, which has been prohibited in the Judeo-Christian tradition since the days of Moses, was sanctioned by Muhammad and has been going on now for 50 generations (1,400 years) in the Muslim world.
This practice of inbreeding will never go away in the Muslim world, since Muhammad is the ultimate example and authority on all matters, including marriage. The massive inbreeding in Muslim culture may well have done virtually irreversible damage to the Muslim gene pool, including extensive damage to its intelligence, sanity, and health.
According to Sennels, close to half of all Muslims in the world are inbred. In Pakistan, the numbers approach 70%. Even in England ,more than half of Pakistani immigrants are married to their first cousins, and in Denmark the number of inbred Pakistani immigrants is around 40%. Read more:

Presidential candidate Amr Musa meeting with Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos while serving as Secretary General of the Arab League.
What might well be the most significant election in Middle East history is about to transpire, yet the situation and its implications are simply not understood abroad. On May 23-24, with a probable run-off on Jun 16-17, the most important country in the Arabic-speaking world is almost certainly going to choose a revolutionary transformation that will ensure continuous earthquakes of war, suffering, and instability for decades to come.
Of the dozen candidates only three are important and the question is which of them will end up in the run-off:
If ever there was an image to convey the limits of the UK-US success in Afghanistan, it was the way that Barack Obama, the Commander-in-Chief of the liberating, Taliban-scattering forces was forced to skulk into Kabul last night under the cover of darkness...even Mr. Obama oratorical skills couldn't disguise the tail-between-the-legs 'optics' of the event. It was terrible.
The Iranian grassroots are striving for a secular democratic government based on the principle of human rights. Why, therefore, isn't the Obama administration clearly and forcefully supporting the secular Iranian grassroots opposition?

It is this choice that will decide America's future in 2012: Restore America's true character of self-determination or forward into an abyss of entitlement envy and unsustainable debt.
A very gallant Dr. Charles Asher Small just delivered an important lecture at the 92nd St Y. in New York. Yes, this is the same Dr. Small who, in 2004, founded the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), which he housed at Yale University from 2006-2011-until the Yale Corporation decided that the Center's work on Islamic Judeophobia and specifically on Iranian genocidal Judeophobia threatened Yale's "scholarly commitments" in the region.
Who could make this up?
This was the first time that Dr. Small spoke about this publicly.
Dr. Small is Canadian and grew up in Montreal. He speaks in a restrained and reasonable way about outrages and injustices. He is a gentleman and a scholar.
I was privileged to have met him in 2003 and to have worked with him while he was at Yale. I have also written about his work and its tragic demise at Yale.
This time, Dr. Small named names.
But, he first wondered why Israel, which is blamed for every conceivable wrong, is also to blame for whatever problems American Jews are having in terms of communal identity or renewal. He wondered how different American Jews and Jewish leaders are today when compared to the American Jewish leaders in the 1920s and 1930s, as economic problems worsened and a virulent antisemitism arose. "Sound familiar?", he asked.
"Marked For Death" author Geert Wilders talks radical Muslims
Geert Wilders is the Dutch politician who had the balls 8 years ago to take on radical Islam, he has since been in protective custody because of the all inclusive peacefull religion of Islam and it's level headed followers have called for his death. Sean Hannity was lucky enough to get an interview with Wilders partly because he is pushing his book "Marked For Death", I think I'll have to give it a read.
The U.S. Department of Justice has unveiled a broad probe into complaints that authorities haven't been aggressive enough in investigating sexual assault reports in Missoula, Montana. The investigation includes a review of the handling of sexual assault and harassment reports at the University of Montana at Missoula, where at least 11 student-related sex assault cases have surfaced in recent months.
Bill Otis, at Crime and Consequences, argues that the Holder Justice Department is over-reaching, and that does seem to be the case. Why, Bill asks, does rape in Missoula, Montana warrant federal investigation? According to local authorities, the incidence of rape in Missoula, a town of 86,000 people, is on par with similarly sized college towns. Moreover, both the University of Montana's hugely successful football coach and its athletic director have lost their jobs due to allegations of rape against members of the football. So, it's not as if rape accusations aren't being taken seriously.
The Occupy movement chose the international Communist holiday, May Day, to try to bring the country to its knees. The effort was a complete fizzle. Demonstrations were few and far between, and achieved nothing beyond minor disruption, even in New York, where Occupiers had vowed to paralyze the city. The principal news story that emerged from the event was the arrest of five "anarchists" who plotted to blow up a bridge near Cleveland. The Cleveland Plain Dealer notes the anarchists' close connection to the local Occupy movement:
Five men involved in Occupy Cleveland stand accused of plotting to blow up a bridge over Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Sagamore Hills. The organization itself has not been implicated, but the arrests prompted organizers to cancel their May Day protest and instead spend the day distancing themselves from what they characterized as a fringe element. ...
. . . . .
Are the men connected with the Occupy movement? Or with the tea party? Or neither?
The feature led off with photos of the five men who were arrested. Here they are:
Hmm. Occupiers or tea partiers? Hmm. It's a puzzle, all right.
As expected, Marine Le Pen has declined to endorse Nicolas Sarkozy for president in Sunday's run-off election. Her decision is probably the final nail in Sarkozy's electoral coffin. Le Pen finished a strong third in the preliminary election, and support from her right-leaning voters is crucial to Sarkozy's hopes of defeating Socialist Party candidate Francois Hollande. Some have estimated that Sarkozy needs 80 percent of Le Pen's vote. But polls show he is only at about 50 percent, and without Le Pen's endorsement that number may not increase. Read More . . .

The Jewish vote has been a cornerstone in President Obama's coalition and that of the Democratic Party for decades. MAY 1, 305 AD, the most powerful man in the world, Emperor Diocletian, stepped down from ruling the Roman Empire.
He had required all the military to worship pagan Roman gods, thus forcing Christians out of the military. With Christians out, he used the military to persecute Christians with extreme severity, going province by province arresting church leaders, cutting out tongues, boiling some alive, decapitating others, burning scriptures, forbidding worship and demanding pagan sacrifices. From Europe to North Africa, thousands were martyred, and the faithful cried out in prayer. Suddenly, Diocletian was struck with a painful intestinal disease and resigned. Eight years later Emperor Constantine ended the persecution of Christians. President Reagan commented in 1984 on how Christianity influenced Rome: "In the fourth century, a monk (Telemachus) thought he heard God telling him to go to Rome...He followed a crowd into the Coliseum and saw the gladiators. ... Three months ago conservatives were jubilant over reports Congressman Darrell Issa would offer a Contempt of Congress complaint against Eric Holder. After all, the Attorney General had openly refused to honor House Oversight Committee subpoenas for an estimated 80,000 documents vital to the Committee's investigation of the role played by members of the Obama Regime in Operation Fast and Furious.
Holder spent nearly a year lying to Congressional committees and making clear he had no intention of honoring legal subpoenas. His Assistant Attorney General Ron Weich had written a February 4th, 2011 letter to congress claiming the criminal walking of more than 2000 firearms across the Mexican border had never happened. It was that letter which would have the distinction of being the first ever Department of Justice communication to congress which had to be withdrawn by its sender, due to certain "inaccuracies." (1)

Editorial Exegesis
Have you heard? Obama killed Osama!
"'You know, we don't trot out this stuff as trophies,' Obama said last May 4. 'Americans and people around the world are glad that [Osama bin Laden] is gone. But we don't need to spike the football.' Two days earlier, the notorious terrorist and backer of the 9/11 attacks had been killed in a raid for which Obama had given the thumbs-up. ... With his chances at a second term increasingly uncertain, Obama's campaign has begun hyping the bin Laden raid. The most overt instance is its release of an ad extolling Obama's decision, with Bill Clinton as narrator and featuring multiple pensive images of the commander in chief. The ad employs an out-of-context quote ... to question whether presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney would have shown the same gutsy leadership if the same opportunity had arisen and he was president. 'Which path would Mitt Romney have taken?' the ad asks. ... It is almost as though the president's campaign has forgotten the famous '3 a.m.' ad from the 2008 presidential campaign, in which Hillary Clinton tried to sow doubts about Obama's leadership and aptitude. Obama's spokesman, Bill Burton, responded indignantly, comparing Mrs. Clinton to the occupant of the White House at the time, George W. Bush: 'It's ironic that she would borrow the president's tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points,' Burton said. 'We already have a president who plays the politics of fear, and we don't need another.' No, but it looks like we got one after all." --The Washington Examiner
"Imagine if President Nixon had decided to base his 1972 re-election campaign on the boast that he landed on the moon. His predecessors tried and failed for eight years. It wasn't an easy decision -- what if something went wrong? But that's why you hire a president, to make those gutsy calls. Which path would George McGovern have taken? That's analogous to President Obama's effort to campaign on the killing of Osama bin Laden. His absurd braggadocio is turning one of the few successes to occur under his leadership into a political liability." --Wall Street Journal columnist James Taranto
"[W]hen Obama swore to defend the Constitution, and therefore the nation, he did it in the dimension where the rest of us exist, where the economy appears to be headed toward its annual spring stall and an endless series of massive budget deficits threatens to unleash a financial crisis at any time. While big issues simmer untended, our leader is focused like a laser beam on trivia that benefit him politically but do the country little or no good. ... This president was sold as someone who could rise above Washington's partisanship. Instead, he's supervising it." --White House Dossier's Keith Koffler
"[T]he attempt to wean entire societies of 'junkies,' i.e. those addicted to government largesse, off the government teat has created havoc. Furthermore, and this is where it gets to the nub, societies structured to live off government, the ones where government is the major employer ... are now faced with the economic 'ripple effect' that the laying off government employees produces. ... [S]timulus is nothing more than an increase in the very same government debt -- and government dependency -- that brought Europe to its knees in the first place. ... The responsible solution to this whole mess is the one that few people are willing to embrace: weaning people off government dependency as quickly as possible, and educating them as to why it is necessary." --columnist Arnold Ahlert
"You have to hand it to President Obama and his cabal of re-election strategists; they are masters of illusion. Their newly released Web video and its accompanying campaign slogan, 'Forward,' are science fiction-level fantastical. We're all familiar with Obama's penchant for deflecting responsibility and blaming his policy failures on George W. Bush, but after more than three years in office for Obama, it has gone from childish mischief to juvenile delinquency. This is a question for Guinness: Has any other president run for re-election against the record of his retired predecessor?" --columnist David Limbaugh
Essential Liberty
"Election Day 2012 will not be a presidential election. It will be a plebiscite. ... They will be participating in a plebiscite on the definition of America. ... The usual description of presidential elections -- 'the most important in our lifetime' -- is true this time. In fact, it may be the most important election since the Civil War, and possibly since America's founding. ... [Barack Obama] described the left's aim perfectly: to fundamentally transform America. It seeks to replace Liberty, In God We Trust, and E Pluribus Unum. That is what 'fundamentally transform' means. In fact, those words are proof that American values and leftist values are fundamentally opposed to one another. ... For these reasons, this election is not just a choice between a Democrat and a Republican. It is between Americanism and leftism. ... The left's desire to transform America is the biggest issue. Barack Obama is to be opposed because he is a man of the left." --radio talk-show host Dennis Prager

"A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it ... gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself." --economist Milton Friedman (1912-2006)
The Demo-gogues
Chutzpah: "[O]ver the last three years, the tide has turned [in Afghanistan]. We broke the Taliban's momentum. We've built strong Afghan security forces. We devastated al-Qa'ida's leadership, taking out over 20 of their top 30 leaders. And one year ago, from a base here in Afghanistan, our troops launched the operation that killed Osama bin Laden. The goal that I set -- to defeat al-Qa'ida, and deny it a chance to rebuild -- is within reach." --Barack Obama, the peacenik arm-chair warrior, claiming credit for goals set and foundations laid years before he was even a junior senator from Illinois -- goals that he campaigned originally to undermine and abandon
Narcissist: "And we've got me in the house." --Barack Obama, giving a shout-out to himself (see the nauseating video here)
Topsy turvy argument: "This contraception fight in particular was illuminating. This is a [Republican] party that says it prides itself on being rabidly anti-regulation. These are folks who claim to believe in freedom from government interference and meddling. But it doesn't seem to bother them when it comes to women's health." --Barack Obama
Such humility: "I just barely can hammer a nail into the wall. My wife is not impressed with my skills when it comes to fixing up the house. Fortunately right now I'm in a rental, so I don't end up having to do a lot of work." --Barack Obama addressing union officials
Clinton's fourth term: "I ran for president because we had lost our way since Bill Clinton was done being president. ... [S]o if you're willing to join us and finish what we started in 2008, and continue what Bill Clinton was doing when he was president of the United States, and if you are willing to share that vision of what America can be, I guarantee you we won't just win this election, we're going to make sure that we remind this world of ours just why it is America is the greatest nation on Earth." --Barack Obama
Predictions: "We're headed in the right direction. Unemployment continues to drop and those people who are unemployed, they're not gonna be voting for the party who wants to cut their benefits, cut access to food stamps, cut job training. The idea that Republicans are trying to help those who are unemployed is nonsense and I think that on this Election Day, those who have a job can credit the administration for stabilizing our economy and those who don't know that this administration is trying to put them to work." --Rep. Chaka Fattah (D-PA)
Dezinformatsia
Bad advice: "[T]here's enormous human damage being done to this economy and it's all unnecessary. We have the knowledge. We have the tools. If we could get our politicians to move and do the right thing, we could be out of this very fast. The right thing is, actually, to spend more." --New York Times' Paul Krugman
Class envy: "Mitt Romney's wrong when he thinks that we are engaging in what he calls the politics of envy. No one who happens to be poor wants what Mr. Romney has." --PBS's Tavis Smiley
Just because a leftist would do it... "We know that Ann Romney has herself had some suffering in the form of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), she's also suffered with breast cancer. Do you think that [Romney's] intentionally using her to close the gender gap?" --MSNBC's Martin Bashir
No bias here: "[J]ust about every new poll of public sentiment shows that confidence in the news media has hit a new low. ... But have the media really become more biased? Or is this a case of perception trumping reality? In fact, there's little to suggest that over the past few decades news reporting has become more favorable to one party." --The Washington Post's Paul Farhi
"All that scrutiny of the press may suggest an inescapable conclusion: There's something wrong with the news media. All the time. Journalists have gotten that message, too. Reporters have heard the criticism from the right so often that they lean over backwards to be fair to them." --The Nation's Eric Alterman

Spinning like a top: "[The Republican] message is, 'You didn't clean up our mess fast enough.' Okay? As I said, we've had 11 consecutive months of positive economic growth, 25 consecutive months of positive private sector job growth. The Republicans, again, they want to return to the policies not of strengthening the middle class but instead of giving tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires. Belly laugh of the week: "[T]here is a false view that has become the conventional wisdom that we have too much partisanship in the country. That is not true. Frankly, the Democrats could probably be a bit more partisan in terms of sticking up for the stuff we actually believe in and not compromising so quickly. It's a problem of right-wing extremism and the Republican party being pulled so far to the right, and they have to deny science and they have to, you know, make up facts, and now it's become business as usual." --Van Jones

By now, it should be clear even to casual observers that the Volcker Rule, which was intended to limit the "risky" activities of banks by banning them from certain types of transactions, will be nearly impossible to implement without severe unintended damage to the U.S. financial system and many other types of businesses both here in the U.S. and overseas.

Leaving the program unchanged requires either dramatic tax hikes or harsh cuts-immediately. "The 2012 report states that bringing Medicare Part A into actuarial balance would require an immediate 47 percent increase in the payroll tax or a 26 percent cut in Part A benefits," he explains.
The Obama administration's Medicare plans are a lose-lose for seniors, Moffit continues. "If the Administration's crude strategy of payment cuts is successful, reduced access to care for seniors is virtually guaranteed. If the provider cuts are reversed, the Medicare financial condition simply worsens."

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 188 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS
Spiking The Ball
Barack Obama made a surprise address to the nation yesterday from Afghanistan. Obama's address was supposedly about a new agreement to wind down combat operations in Afghanistan and bring our troops home. That is certainly welcomed news to many Americans, especially those with loved ones in uniform.
But the address could have been delivered from the Oval Office, Fort Bragg or any other major military installation or on any other day. Instead, Obama chose Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, as his location, and he chose the one-year anniversary of Osama bin Laden's death to give the speech. This was not a coincidence and likely took weeks of planning, probably from his Chicago reelection headquarters.
And then there was this remarkable statement from his speech: "The goal that I set -- to defeat al Qaeda, and deny it a chance to rebuild -- is within reach." As if no one else had thought about that before!
Even the left-wing New York Times was critical of Obama's speech. In an editorial published last night, the Times said the speech was "frustratingly short on specifics," called its timing "contrived" and added, "Mr. Obama's political message, and motivation, for this trip was undeniable."
Barack Obama does not understand America. If he wants the American people to rally to him, he should try demonstrating some humility. Instead, he's doing the exact opposite with statements like the one above and by suggesting that Mitt Romney would not have gone after Osama bin Laden.
The example Obama should be following is General Dwight Eisenhower, who in the hours before D-Day wrote his resignation letter and prepared to take full responsibility if the invasion failed. When it succeeded, all he did was praise the men and women who pulled it off, reportedly asking, "Where do we get such men?"
Obama's ham-fisted efforts to get reelected may not work. Last week, Obama had a seven-point lead in the Gallup tracking poll. Now it's a dead-heat with Obama and Romney tied at 46%.
Obama's Problem With The Truth
For all his celebrity there is a lot about Barack Obama that we still don't know. And it is largely a problem of Obama's own making. Not only has he been secretive about certain aspects of his life (his college transcripts, for example), but he also seems to have a hard time with the truth.
Obama once said he owed his "very existence" to the Selma civil rights march. But the march in Selma occurred years after Obama was born. He once said that his mother was struggling with cancer treatments when she had no health insurance. That was false.
On occasion, Obama's misstatements spill into the political arena too. Remember when he attacked the Supreme Court during one of his State of the Union speeches? He claimed that the court's decision in a campaign finance case would allow foreign corporations to make political donations. He was wrong, and Justice Alito mouthed, "Not true."
During a speech on healthcare reform, Obama said his plan would not allow illegal immigrants to participate. Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie," and the media roundly condemned Wilson. But the bill drafted by Nancy Pelosi would have provided coverage to illegal immigrants.
Now it is being reported that Obama made up a girlfriend in his autobiography "Dreams From My Father." What else about this man will we learn is fake and made up?
I know the media are emotionally invested in Barack Obama. But they really need to stop being so accusatory when polling data shows that many Americans question certain aspects of his life, such as his faith. Unfortunately, Obama has a pattern of dissembling and distortion that only breeds suspicion. A serious and impartial media would be demanding answers.
Occupy Thugs Pillage and Plot
Yesterday's Occupy Wall Street/May Day protests predictably turned ugly. Protestors clashed with police in Manhattan leading to 50 arrests. Police in Oakland, California, had to resort to tear gas to disperse protestors and there was sporadic rioting and violence in Seattle.
For the most part, the media are reacting with a collective shrug. I'm sure you recall the hyperventilating of left-wing pundits and the vitriol of leading Democrats over the Tea Party protests. Democrats from Barack Obama down mocked and condemned the Tea Party movement as racist and worse, and they warmly embraced the Occupy Wall Street movement.
But can you imagine how the media would have reacted if Tea Partiers had been arrested and charged with attempting to blow up a bridge? That's what happened in Ohio this week, and not one single Democrat that we know of has come forward to condemn Occupy Wall Street, even though several of the men are Occupy organizers. Here are their mug shots:
Last year, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi said about the Occupy radicals, "God bless them for their spontaneity. It's young, it's spontaneous, it's focused and it's going to be effective." Really, Nancy? Is this what you had in mind? I doubt Ohio voters would be praising Occupy's "spontaneity" if the bridge had been blown up!
Every Republican member of Congress should be demanding that Obama, Pelosi and Reid denounce these radicals and disavow their support for these socialist thugs.
Radical Environmental Movement Strikes Again
The radical environmentalist movement is taking its jihad against fossil fuels to a whole new level. The "greens" are not merely content with denying American consumers the choice of cheaper and more efficient energy options or denying American energy companies access to the U.S. market. Now they are going to extraordinary lengths to prevent U.S. energy companies from exporting coal and natural gas to overseas markets that are eager to use our resources.
With the EPA regulating coal plants out of existence, American coal companies have turned to exporting their product to China and India in order to stay in business. New technology has created an abundant supply of natural gas -- so much so that American gas companies are desperate to export the excess supply. But the Washington Times reports that liberal politicians and environmental groups are putting up legal and regulatory roadblocks to shut them down.
They don't want anybody using fossil fuels of any kind anywhere in the world. But there's just one problem with their radical agenda -- they don't have an alternative! America gets more than 40% of its electricity from coal. We get just 8% from so-called "renewables" and most of that comes from hydroelectric dams. Wind and solar provide miniscule amounts of our energy.
