New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism

The Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" - a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.
Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."
"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.
The slogan "Forward!" reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.
The Obama campaign released its new campaign slogan Monday in a 7-minute video. The title card has simply the word "Forward" with the "O" having the familiar Obama logo from 2008. It will be played at rallies this weekend that mark the Obama re-election campaign's official beginning.

"Forward" is another word that is going to change its significance after being used by Obama.
It started with "change" which means transform and destroy.
"Hope" which now means no hope.
"Tolerance" that now means intolerance.
"Justice" which is injustice against Conservatives and any who opposes the left.
"Diversity" means more privilege for races and religions that leftists see as discriminated or oppressed.
"Freedom" abolition of Capitalism.
SEALs slam Obama for using them as 'ammunition' in bid to take credit for bin Laden killing during election campaign

Serving and former US Navy SEALs have slammed President Barack Obama for taking the credit for killing Osama bin Laden and accused him of using Special Forces operators as 'ammunition' for his re-election campaign.
The SEALs spoke out to MailOnline after the Obama campaign released an ad entitled 'One Chance'.
In it President Bill Clinton is featured saying that Mr Obama took 'the harder and the more honourable path' in ordering that bin Laden be killed. The words 'Which path would Mitt Romney have taken?' are then displayed.
Besides the ad, the White House is marking the first anniversary of the SEAL Team Six raid that killed bin Laden inside his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan with a series of briefings and an NBC interview in the Situation Room designed to highlight the 'gutsy call' made by the President.

Chalk up another entry in the recent string of racially motivated assaults. Today's story comes from Norfolk, Virginia, where a white couple were beaten savagely by a group of (according to reports) between 30 and 100 black youths. Apparently, the beating was so brutal that the couple could only manage to scream out the intersection at which they were located - "Church and Brambleton" - as the blows rained down:
The victim's friend, a young woman, tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye. She called 911. A recording told her all lines were busy. She called again. Busy. On her third try, she got through and, hysterical, could scream only their location.

The Secretary of State Project, the once influential group backed by billionaire philanthropist George Soros, has either gone into hiding or informally disbanded.
What happened? Did the group just disappear? Well, before we investigate the group's possible demise, perhaps a quick history lesson is in order.
The Secretary of State Project was created for the sole purpose of stopping Republicans from "stealing elections" (the project's founders were a little sore about that whole Kathleen Harris thing). You may have already heard of (or seen) the arguably over-the-top "60 Minutes" interview between Leslie Stahl and former Director of the National Clandestine Service, Jose Rodriguez, on the waterboarding and overall treatment of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM). In the wake of Stahl's visible outrage over discovering KSM's diet was fortified with Ensure nutritional supplement shakes (an "Orwellian tactic," she said), Glenn Beck and one of his co-hosts, Pat Gray, took no prisoners - literally - and decided to show Stu Burguiere what torture really looks like (Stu thought being fed Ensure was not torture, while Gray maintained, quite cheekily, it was).
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"

David Freed has over 15 years of experience as a prosecutor and has handled thousands of cases during his legal career, trying in excess of 100 jury trials in both the civil and criminal arenas. He has prosecuted capital murder cases, run grand jury investigations, taken down child predators and cracked down on elder abuse and fraud. If it ever was a secret, it's not a secret any longer: The Obama Administration is on a vindictive campaign to injure America's oil and gas industry. The proof materialized last week when video of an Environmental Protection Agency official revealed the White House's vicious attitude toward the very industries that supply the American people a reliable, affordable energy source. Yesterday, that official fell on his sword and resigned to spare the president any further embarrassment from the truth he disclosed.
Last week, Heritage's Lachlan Markay reported on a video showing EPA Region VI Administrator Al Armendariz describe his agency's "philosophy of enforcement" with respect to the regulation of oil and gas companies -- likening it to brutal tactics employed by the ancient Roman army to intimidate its foes into submission. With a wry smile, Armendariz detailed the joy with which the EPA inflicts punishment on the disfavored industries:
It was kind of like how the Romans used to, you know, conquer the villages in the Mediterranean. They'd go into a little Turkish town somewhere and they'd find the first five guys they saw and they'd crucify them. And then, you know, that town was really easy to manage for the next few years.
Lest there be any doubt, it's worth reiterating the point -- according to Armendariz, the EPA views its enforcement efforts as a violent crucifixion used to strong arm companies into submission. The Constitution bars cruel and unusual punishment, but evidently that doesn't apply to the axe-wielding EPA when it comes to enforcing regulations.
None of this, though, should be a surprise coming from what very well may be the most anti-energy administration in history. For the president and his cadre of bureaucrats, "Big Oil" is the enemy that deserves to be beaten into submission.
Exhibit A: The president's unremitting crusade to raise taxes on the oil industry by denying it access to tax credits available to other industries. This, of course, is a game of semantics and populist rhetoric. In his appeal to the American people, the president is claiming that oil and gas companies enjoy special loopholes and subsidies that need to be eliminated. In reality, they get the same tax treatment enjoyed by producers of clothing, roads, electricity, water, and many other goods manufactured in the United States. Actually, oil companies receive less of a tax break than those manufacturers. (Oil companies receive a six percent reduction while all other manufacturers receive a nine percent reduction.) Yet the president wants to impose a higher targeted tax hike and take the tax break away completely.
When President Obama lashes out at "Big Oil," guess who's going to pay the price? You. First, raising taxes on any company means that the costs will be passed on to consumers. If you're tired of paying high gas prices, you would pay even more if the president levies new costs on the industry that is supplying your fuel.
Second, when the president talks about "Big Oil," keep in mind who "Big Oil" is -- it could very well be you. Thirty-one percent of U.S. oil and natural gas shares are owned by public or private pension plans. On top of that, individual retirement accounts hold 18 percent of shares, individual investors have 21 percent, and asset management companies including mutual funds account for 21 percent -- comprising more than 90 percent of oil and gas stocks in 2011. That means when those companies profit, there's a good chance you profit. And when those companies suffer, there's a good chance that you suffer, too.
That doesn't matter, though, to an Administration that is in an unyielding pursuit of a singular "green" agenda. Billions in taxpayer dollars are spent to fund solar companies that go bankrupt and to give tax credits to wealthy Americans so they can buy a handful of electric vehicles. Meanwhile, the president's Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, gives himself an "A" for his work in lowering gas prices, despite their reaching all-time highs under his watch. And all the while, the president is saying "NO" to domestic energy exploration, including his decision to block the Keystone XL pipeline.
So when Armendariz spoke of "crucifying" oil and gas companies, it was not a surprise. His crime was saying what the rest of the Obama Administration -- including the president -- have been thinking and doing all along. Last week, Armendariz apologized and called his comments "an offensive and inaccurate way to portray our efforts to address potential violations of our nation's environmental laws." In fact, though his words were vivid, they were all too accurate. The Obama Administration has an obvious political agenda that is not focused on enforcing rules, but on vindictively assaulting an industry that doesn't comport with its green agenda -- even though Americans depend on oil and gas companies each and every day.
President Obama has said he favors an "all of the above" strategy when it comes to energy policy. "All of the above" apparently means taking no prisoners as he marches toward a "greener" future, regardless of what it costs the American people.

A lot of scary misinformation is roaming the public media. The threat is real, but usually exaggerated. A single neutron bomb cannot destroy the infrastructure of an entire nation, a hemisphere, or the entire planet. It is not a "doomsday" weapon. A Faraday shield can protect sensitive items from harm, unless they connect with unshielded hardware. Direct damage is limited by the strength of the pulse. The pulse only lasts for a fraction of a second with no residual effect. Only the consequences remain, but they are awesome and long lasting. Solar flares from the sun can create electromagnetic pulses.
The electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is a potential danger that is less awesome than a nuclear air burst over a major city because there is no incinerating fireball and mushroom cloud to vaporize or kill everything beneath the air burst. The best (and most understandable) source about the EMP threat is found in the National Geographic website. Search for "EMP". Their on-line store offers a DVD video, available only in the USA. Contrary to popular opinion, an EMP affects only a limited area with the intensity needed to cause catastrophic damage. However, that affected area could create secondary havoc in connected surrounding areas. If more than one neutron bomb explodes precisely at the same time while positioned in a strategic pattern, the combination force could focus a higher-intensity pulse on a target, or damage a larger area.
One fact the National Geographic article hints but does not explain is the very real danger of an EMP generated by our sun. We are in for some rather active sunspot activity in the 2012-2013 time periods.
US Supreme Court: Torture Victim's Family Can't Sue the PA or the PLO

The relatives of a US citizen who was tortured and killed by Palestinian intelligence officers may not sue the Palestinian Authority or the PLO for damages under the Torture Victim Protection Act (TVPA).
The Christian Science Monitor reported that the US Supreme Court ruled 9 to 0 on Wednesday that the 1991 anti-torture law authorizes civil lawsuits only against an individual who actually carried out the torture or extrajudicial killing - not against an organization with which the alleged torturer or killer was associated.

But is the U.S. economy really improving? The truth is that it is not.
With its own candidate, Hazem Abu Ismail,disqualified by the election commission, Egypt's Salafist political party, al-Nour, has endorsed former Muslim Brotherhood member Abdel Moneim Abol Fotouh for the presidency. While being called a "moderate" by many news outlets, Fotouh's radical past and a questionable interpretation of Islam's dedication to equality and tolerance presents a problem for both the West and Egypt's more liberal and secular voters.

First it was the FBI, now the Pentagon. See the CNN report below. While there may exist unnecessary and even "offensive" statements in these training materials, it appears that this is being used as a pretext to strip out ANY and ALL references to radical Islam in counterterrorism materials. Such a purge reflects the track record of the Obama administration and is cause for serious concern. What's more, the actions of groups like ISNA and CAIR make it clear they consider ANY reference to radical Islam in counterterrorism materials to be offensive.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs has ordered the entire U.S. military to remove all anti-Islamic content from its training materials.
Gen. Martin Dempsey sent a letter to the directors of military education institutions, combatant commanders and the heads of all branches of service instructing them to review all relevant training materials to make sure it does not have anti-Islamic content.
The order was precipitated by an elective course called "Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism," offered at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia.
"A student who finished the course last month brought this to his attention, that some materials in that course were inflammatory," Pentagon spokesman Capt. John Kirby said. The material included a statement that Kirby described as "the United States is at war with Islam, and that was presented as an assertion. We are at war with terrorism, specifically al Qaeda ... so that's one example."
"I am concerned that acadmeic institutions within the DoD may be presenting material, both by DoD instructors and guest lecturers, which goes well beyond merely presenting alternative intellectual viewpoints on radicalism to advocating ideas, beliefs and actions that are contrary to our national policy, inconsistent with values of our profession, and disrespectful of the Islamic religion," Dempsey wrote in a the memo.
In times past the Forward newspaper celebrated the fast of Yom Kippur with a feast and in keeping with that tradition it celebrated Israel's Independence Day by rewriting its anthem to remove the word "Jew" from it. The linguistic purge from the notoriously anti-Israel paper was meant as a way to help Muslims feel better about singing the Israeli national anthem.
The yearning of the Jewish soul becomes the yearning of the Israeli soul and the eyes turned east no longer long for Zion, but the generic "our country". The proposal made by a self-proclaimed linguist seems rather devoid of understanding when it comes to the origin and meaning of words. Purging Jewish souls from the anthem and replacing them with Israeli souls doesn't actually solve anything.
Jews are Judeans, dating back to the Kingdom of Judah, contrasted with the breakaway Kingdom of Israel and its tribes. The Jews are also Israelites, being sons of the patriarch Israel, a category that still does not encompass Muslims. Rewriting Jewish soul as Israeli soul still leaves one with Jews, and as the Forward has discovered, Jews are rather hard to get rid of. Shoot them, gas them and write them out of their own anthem and they still pop back up.
It will take more than a few switched words to write Jews out of Hatikvah. Even if we were to no longer call them Israelis, but perhaps Homo Sapiens or oxygen breathing mammals, so as to leave no one out at all, there is the eastern problem. Why were these carbon breathing lifeforms looking east, when most of the region's Muslims look westward to Israel? And why were they longing for a country for 2000 years when the only Arabs around then were Roman mercenaries carving up Jewish refugees and searching for gold in their stomachs?
A proper post-Jewish anthem must also be post-Israeli. It must be generic, humanistic and tolerant. It must not be associated with anyone's national striving, only the striving for social justice, complete equality and brotherhood. Fortunately such an anthem already exists and it's called The Internationale and it happens to be quite popular among the sort of people who think Hatikvah is too Jewish.
There's even a few Israeli versions, like "Nivne Artzenu Eretz Moledet". The latter, with lyrics like, "We shall build our country despite our destroyers" has gone out of style and sounds too much like those right-wingers who insist on building houses and farms, instead of protesting over the cost of condos in Tel Aviv. Try strumming up lyrics like, "It is the command of our blood" or "The end to malignant slavery" in the wrong place at the wrong time and you might just be hauled in for incitement. These days the only ones building the country or "marching toward the liberation of our people" are the ones being kicked out of Migron and Hevron by the destroyers of the left.

Bob Simon's segment on CBS-TV 60 Minute program titled Christians in the Holy Land, aired on Sunday April 22, 2012 was nothing short of a hatchet job. Simon failed to bring up the obvious, namely, that Christians in the Holy Land as well as in the rest of the Arab Muslim world are persecuted, intimidated, and as a result are fleeing to freedom in the West. He interviewed Christian leaders who have been co-opted by the Palestinian Authority to serve the Palestinian cause without regards to the suffering of their flock. In Israel alone, have Christians been able to grow as a community and flourish educationally and economically. BOB SIMON'S JOURNALISTIC CRIME OF OMISSION

Bob Simon's Sixty Minute segment titled Christians in the Holy Land can be legitimately accused of the journalistic crime of omission, and for those with an ungenerous spirit, Simon may be blamed as well for the act of commission. Simon simply ignored the obvious in covering the status of Christians in the Holy Land: the fear and intimidation Palestinian Christians suffer from at the hands of the Muslim led Palestinian Authority (PA) in the West Bank, and Hamas in Gaza.
In a polity such as the PA, not to mention Hamas in Gaza, where Sharia law governs to the extent that any law other than the "law of the gun" exists, Christians feel excluded and discriminated. That alone may explain the increased pace of Christian flight from the Palestinian territories since the mid-1990's when Israel left the cities of the West Bank to PA control and since Hamas began to rule Gaza in 2007. Such factors as economic pressure, lack of safety and the rule of law, the increasing dominance of Islamists, and above all intimidation through violence, and the threat of violence, have been contributing factors in the fleeing of Christians from the Holy Land.
Reverend Dr. Bill Harter, a Presbyterian Church USA pastor who has logged more than 40 missions to the Holy Land pointed out to a State Department top official (in the presence of this writer) that what Palestinian-Christians say in public is vastly different from what they say in private. To maintain their safety and to hold up their bona-fides as loyal-Palestinian patriots, they must denounce Israel more vociferously at times than Muslims, otherwise they might be accused of collaborating with Israel. The consequences for not cooperating with the Palestinian propaganda machine can be most severe: rape of daughters and wives, torched businesses and, ultimately death by a bullet or a knife.
Privately however, where there are no prying eyes, and when it is anonymously whispered, ordinary Palestinian-Christians reveal their suffering at the hands of their Muslim neighbors and roving gangs of Islamic extortionists. Their methods do not differ much from the Mafia - Pay or Die, but Christians are targeted specifically because they are not Muslims, and these militant Muslim extortionists get a free pass from the Gaza and Ramallah regimes.
The only utterances ordinary Christian-Palestinians can make on a public microphone or a television camera are anti-Israel statements. Did Simon expect them to denounce the PA? Simon's life was not on the line, theirs was...
The second factor in Simon's hatchet job (on Israel) is to ignore the fact that the top clergy and leadership of the Christian-Palestinian community have been co-opted by the PA, as well as by other Arab dictatorial regimes. Popes (Coptic Pope in Egypt) bishops, clergy (Rev. Mitri Raheb, Pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Michel Sabbah, and others) and politicians like Hanan Ashrawi enjoy pay and position given to them by the PA. Moreover, all of these figures know that defaming Israel carries only credit and no danger to themselves from the Israelis. On the other hand, speaking ill of the Palestinian Authority or Hamas will carry a death sentence for them and their families.
In a piece published by the Gatestone Institute in 2009, Khaled Abu Toameh, an Arab Muslim reporter for the Jerusalem Post wrote that Christians have complained about acts of intimidation and land theft by Muslims, especially those working for the Palestinian Authority. And, if that wasn't enough, several Christian women living in these areas have complained about verbal and sexual assaults by Muslim men.
Toameh recounted hearing stories of shakedowns by Muslim gangs. He writes: "Over the past few years, a number of Christian businessmen told me that they were forced to shut down their businesses because they could no longer afford to pay "protection" money to local Muslim gangs." Abu Toameh pointed out that this is not the story Palestinian Christians tell western reporters.
Abu Toameh reported that, "Ironically, leaders of the Palestinian Christians are also to blame for the ongoing plight of their people because they refuse to see the reality as it is. And the reality is that many Palestinian Christians feel insecure and intimidated because of what we Muslims are doing to them and not only because of the bad economy."
Toameh continued, "When they go on the record, these leaders always insist that Israel and the occupation are the only reason behind the plight of their constituents. They stubbornly refuse to admit that many Christians are being targeted by Muslims. By not talking openly about the problem, the Christian leaders are encouraging the perpetrators to continue their harassment and assaults against Christian families."
Simon must recognize that Israel is an open society and the only democracy in the region where religious freedom, women's rights, and human rights are enjoyed by everyone, albeit, security concerns such as prevention of terrorist attacks necessitated the construction of the defensive barrier, which Simon concedes reduced Palestinian terrorist attacks by 90%. Conversely, the Palestinian Authority and the Hamas rule in Gaza are hardly open and democratic. Western and local reporters are harassed, intimidated and at times murdered, which may explain why all the reporters covering the "Holy Land" prefer to live in the safety and security of Jewish Jerusalem, where they can and do defame Israel regularly with no adverse consequences.
What is clearly undeniable to any objective observer is the persecution of the Christian minorities throughout the Middle East, including the Holy Land. The increase in such persecution comes in direct proportion to the rise of Islamism and Salafism throughout the region. Christian Copts in Egypt that comprise over 10% of Egypt's population, and form the authentic and indigenous Egyptians, preceded the Arab conquest of Egypt in the seventh century CE, are fleeing in the hundreds of thousands. In Iraq, the Iran inspired Shiite-Muslim government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is affecting the ethnic cleansing of the ancient Christian community. And, in the rest of the Arab Middle East, the electoral victories of the Muslim Brotherhood and their affiliates have increased the persecution of Christians and their subsequent exodus from the region. In Israel alone, the Christian community is secure and growing in numbers.
Simon decidedly agrees with the idea that the 2009 Kairos Document authored by Palestinian Christian clergy is meant to promote "peace" between Israel and the Palestinians. Simon called it "unprecedented," and went on to say that "the published document called Kairos, criticized Islamic extremism and advocated non-violent resistance to the Israeli occupation which they called a sin against God." He should have asked the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) what they thought of the Kairos Document, which he naturally did not. The CCAR denounced the Kairos Document as "supersessionist and anti-Semitic." The rabbis considered the Kairos Document to be extremely hostile to Jews and Israel and totally one-sided. And in what is clearly an act of commission, Simon elevated the rabidly anti-Israel and anti-Jewish Rev. Mitri Raheb (one of the authors of the Kairos) to that of a peacemaker.
Simon and his producer Harry Radliffe failed to bring balance and fairness on a subject that required serious study and thought. But then, Simon, like the Palestinian Christian authors of Kairos know that while exposing the ugly reality of Islamist intolerance carries deadly consequences, abusing Israel by perverting reality does not.
As far as the media were concerned, the murder of Jewish schoolchildren in Toulouse and a black teenager in Florida were the same story - literally: Angry white male opens fire on "the other," his deeply ingrained racism inflamed by the tide of toxic right-wing hate infecting our public discourse. Alas, in Florida, the angry white male turned out to be a registered Democrat and half Hispanic - or, as the New York Times put it, a "white Hispanic," a descriptor never applied by its editors to, say, Sonia Sotomayor or Gloria Estefan or indeed any other person living or dead. And in Toulouse the angry white male turned out to be yet another Muhammad.
Oh, well. Better luck next time, although the pickings seem likely to get thinner: Pitch the Western world a decade or two down the road, riven by an ever-more-fractious tribalism between blacks, Hispanics, and Muslims, and the one surviving nonagenarian neo-Nazi white supremacist will be at the retirement home. But it'll still all be his fault.
The Toulouse assumptions were particularly deluded. If the flow of information is really controlled by Jews, as the Reverend Jeremiah Wright assured his students at the Chicago Theological Seminary a year or two back, you'd think they'd be a little better at making their media minions aware of one of the bleakest stories of the early 21st century: the extinguishing of what's left of Jewish life in Europe. It would seem to me that the first reaction, upon hearing of a Jewish school shooting, would be to put it in the context of the other targeted schools, synagogues, community centers, and cemeteries. And yet liberal American Jews seem barely aware of this grim roll call.

The Obama administration is doing its utmost to promote the fortunes of the Islamist parties in Egypt. A State Department official declared that with the rise of these radical groups after the Arab Spring, "people who once might have gone into al Qaeda see an opportunity for a legitimate Islamism." They see this as a victory. The problem is, so do the terrorists.
Last year, the White House began peddling the line that the uprisings in the Middle East were a repudiation of the al Qaeda model of seeking change through terrorism. The argument was that while America opposed violent extremism, the rise of nonviolent radical movements was just fine, and even commendable. Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri quickly dismissed this claim, saying that from the terrorists' point of view, it didn't matter whether an Islamist victory came through violence or not. The means were unimportant except as they related to the end state: the imposition of hard-line Shariah-based laws and policies.
From Zawahri's point of view, it makes no difference whether the caliphate is born of the ballot, bomb or bullet. The important thing is the victory of Islamism, which the White House also seems to endorse.
Yesterday marked three years since the Democrat-controlled Senate last passed a budget. In violation of federal law, Harry Reid and his confederates have simply refused, for three years, to put their plans for federal spending on paper. In the last three years, the federal government has spent $10.4 trillion and the national debt has increased by $4.5 trillion. The sheer irresponsibility of Washington Democrats is breathtaking. It is hard to say which is worse-the Senate scofflaws refusing to propose any budget at all, or President Obama's offering consecutive budgets so extreme that neither could garner a single vote in Congress, losing by a combined 511-0. Granted that we have a lot of low-information voters, is it conceivable that Americans will return such a derelict party to power?
Last week, we noted that a poll conducted for the campaign of Richard Mourdock showed him leading Sen. Richard Lugar by five points in the race for the Republican nomination for the Indiana Senate seat Lugar has held since 1977. Lugar's polling may well confirm that he is in trouble. Recently, his campaign has been flailing at Mourdock with an air of desperation.
Robert Samuelson has a worthwhile take-down of the notion that Washington operates for the benefit of the rich, in defiance of the will of the people. That view has long seemed ridiculous to me. If it were valid, how would we explain the income tax structure, wherein the richest 10 percent pay 55 percent of the freight? How would we explain the corporate tax rate, which is the highest among developed nations? How would we explain the massive regulatory burden imposed on corporations?
How would we explain the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 or the Civil Rights Act Amendments of 1991, in which Congress, largely overriding the concerns of the business community, legislatively overturned Supreme Court interpretations of existing law with which the "civil rights community" disagreed? How would we explain the more recent "Lilly Ledbetter" Act, which performed the same task?
Tim Carney relates the story of the Obama administration's corrupt use of Medicare funds to conceal the effects of Obamacare. According to the Hon. Minister Louis Farrakhan:
The southern 'Red States' are the same as the Confederate States in the Civil War;
If you did not vote for Obama, "you didn't want a black man' as president;
"Climate for his assassination" is the same in the South now as it was when Lincoln was president;
"Hardcore racists, the Tea Party zealots and the Republicans" are planning Obama's assassination;
Republicans "want a Muslim to kill President Obama" ... and they "already have somebody in mind that they working on."
Socialism is a rich man's game. What President Obama promises -- especially in his second term -- is a socialism of permanent elites, a kind of new, very American, version of the old Soviet-style nomenklatura. And those who are in it will get to stay in it (via government support) as social mobility, aka the American Dream, diminishes or disappears.
On Saturday, a coalition of women's rights, feminist, labor, progressive and pro-choice groups organized marches in over 50 cities nationwide to protest in favor of President Obama's health care agenda and against any restriction on abortion rights.

COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 189 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS
Obama's "Sleazy" Campaign
Today marks the one year anniversary of the successful SEAL team raid that brought justice to Osama bin Laden. Predictably, Obama's campaign is going all out to exploit the mission. It's understandable that Obama would want to highlight this successful mission. After all, his list of accomplishments is rather thin. (More on that below.) But Obama's bragging has raised a lot of eyebrows on both sides of the aisle.
In their most recent video, the Obama campaign and the president himself suggest that Mitt Romney would not have ordered the assault on bin Laden's compound. The suggestion that Romney would allow the world's most-wanted terrorist, who orchestrated the mass murder of thousands of America citizens, to escape justice is a disgusting and false charge. But it is a preview of the depths to which the Obama campaign is prepared to sink in order to win. It is a preview of the smears yet to come.
How much credit does Obama think he deserves for doing the right thing? Yes, it was a daring move. But ANY president would have ordered that raid.
Retired Admiral Mike Mullen, who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the SEAL team raid, told NBC News: "I do worry a great deal ... that somehow this gets spun into election politics. I can assure you that those individuals who risked their lives, the last thing in the world they want is to be spun into that. So I'm hoping that that doesn't happen."
The Romney campaign is in no position to spin the raid, so it's crystal clear who Admiral Mullen is referring to.
In today's Washington Post, Jose Rodriguez, Jr., a 31-year veteran of the CIA and one of America's top spies, wrote that the hunt for bin Laden started long before Obama took office. He also noted how Obama has changed our intelligence gathering capabilities:
"With some trying to turn bin Laden's death into a campaign talking point for Obama's reelection, it is useful to remember that the trail to bin Laden started in a CIA black site -- all of which Obama ordered closed, forever, on the second full day of his administration -- and stemmed from information obtained from hardened terrorists who agreed to tell us some (but not all) of what they knew after undergoing harsh but legal interrogation methods. Obama banned those methods on Jan. 22, 2009."
Current and former SEALs are speaking out too, saying "The decision was a no brainer," and that Obama should not pat himself on the back too much for making the right call.
Even Obama's usual cheerleaders on the left are condemning this obnoxious attack on Mitt Romney's patriotism. Arianna Huffington, editor-in-chief of the left-wing Huffington Post, said yesterday, "To turn [the bin Laden raid] into a campaign ad is one of the most despicable things you can do." And the Washington Post's Dana Milbank wrote that Obama is "making me queasy because his nonstop campaigning is looking, well, sleazy -- and his ad suggesting that Mitt Romney wouldn't have killed Osama bin Laden is just the beginning of it."
Wages Down Under Obama
As we have repeatedly argued, Obama will run a "sleazy," slash and burn campaign because he can't run on his record. Unemployment is up. Gas prices are way up. And the national debt has skyrocketed under Obama. Meanwhile, wages are falling.
Four years ago, Barack Obama blamed George W. Bush's policies for the fact that wages fell $2,000 during his administration. Bloomberg reported yesterday that "real median household income in March was down $4,300 since Obama took office in January 2009." No doubt Obama will still blame Bush, but the American people are looking for results, not excuses.
Why Is Paul Still Running?
Once Mitt Romney's campaign had achieved significant momentum, the GOP establishment was absolutely insistent that Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich end their campaigns, and they have. So where are the calls for Ron Paul to drop out too?
Will Ron Paul support Mitt Romney over Barack Obama? It's not at all clear. When asked yesterday Paul said, "It depends on a lot of ideas, and what his platform is going to be. If I disagree with every single thing in his platform, it's going to be tough. If it's 100% opposite on everything I have said on civil liberties, on war issues, on spending cuts, on monetary policy, you know, what can I do?"
So Paul's biggest issues are civil liberties and foreign policy -- the two issues that put him the furthest outside the conservative mainstream. Ron Paul has not won a single primary, and yet he continues this charade and even suggests that there may be nothing on which he and the likely GOP nominee agree. That is a very telling statement, and it speaks volumes about Ron Paul.

After hibernating for most of the winter, the Occupy Wall Street movement has chosen May Day to stage its comeback. OWS has joined with other left-wing socialist movements here and around the world in calling for "a general strike with no work, no school, no banking and no shopping."
Yesterday, several banks in Manhattan received envelopes with white powder and warning: "This is a reminder that you are not in control. Just in case you needed some incentive to stop working we have a little surprise for you. Think fast you have seconds." The powder was non-toxic, but it had the desired effect: The banks were temporarily shut down thanks to this terrorist prank. There was rioting in San Francisco last night, and yesterday the FBI arrested five self-described "anarchists" who were plotting to blow up a bridge in Ohio.
The left-wing media desperately want to portray Occupy Wall Street as a legitimate political movement. But for whatever reason it is attracting some very unsavory characters. Liberal pollsters have warned Democrats to steer clear of OWS because so many of its supporters are willing to resort to violence to achieve their desired change. Rather than romanticizing the movement, serious journalists should be asking why the left is so intolerant and prone to violence.
Wasting Your Tax Dollars
It seems the Obama Administration can be very creative when it comes to wasting your hard-earned tax dollars. Here's the latest example: An anti-obesity fund in ObamaCare was evidently used to spay and neuter animals and to provide rabies shots in one Tennessee community. Really?
If that seems like a stretch to you -- and it certainly does to me -- the spending was justified by local officials who said that stray dogs were "a barrier to outdoor physical activity."
My friends, this is just more proof of why Washington does not need one more dime of taxpayer money until it gets spending under control. Remember: The problem in Washington is not a lack of revenue, but too much spending!

Last summer, the Obama administration announced new regulations to require car manufacturers to increase the fuel efficiency of passenger vehicles and light trucks. New research reveals that they'll price 7 million consumers out of the car market. The Washington Examiner's Conn Carroll reports:
The Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) regulations that President Obama announced last summer will make it impossible for 7 million lower income consumers to buy a new car according to a National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) study released today.
Obama's proposed CAFE standards, which will begin taking effect in 2017, raise minimum average vehicle fleet fuel efficiency to 54.5 mpg by 2025. The Environmental Protection Agency and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimate that this regulation will raise the average price of passenger cars and light trucks by $3,000.
"The unintended consequences of the proposed fuel economy increases are clear," NADA Used Car Guide analyst David Wagner said. "If the price of a vehicle goes up by the government estimate of almost $3,000, millions of people will no longer be able to finance a new vehicle."
Prior to March, defenders of Obamacare were confident that the Supreme Court would uphold the individual mandate requiring every citizen to purchase health insurance. Constitutional questions were not serious, and constitutional challenges were childish-even reactionary. But then came the oral arguments. Solicitor General Donald Verrilli sputtered along, unable to articulate a limiting principle to Congress's powers. Now those who ignored such questions are scrambling to find historical precedent the individual mandate.
In a recent article, for instance, law professor Einer Elhauge argues that the Founders enacted purchase mandates similar to the Obamacare mandate: the 1792 militia act, a 1790 act regulating seaman in the merchant service, and the 1798 act creating a fund for sick seaman. Upon examination, though, none of these laws are precedents for the federal government to require every individual to purchase health insurance.
Congress passed the 1792 militia act in accordance with Article I, Section 8, Clause 16 of the Constitution which empowers Congress "To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining the Militia." Section II of the law requires each member of the militia to "provide himself" with "a good rifle, knapsack, shot-pouch, and powder-horn, twenty balls suited to the bore of his rifle, and a quarter of a pound of powder." Indeed, the militia act did not apply to every American-it applied to those citizens between the ages of eighteen and forty-five who were members of the militia. Listing the goods necessary for military service is within the bounds of Congress's authority. Under this language, a man could have inherited a musket, bartered for a knapsack, or made his own bullets, and still be in compliance with the act.
The act of 1790 was not a mandate to buy insurance, but a safety regulation for large ships engaged in foreign commerce, an activity under Congress's purview. Section VIII of the 1790 law required that all American ships of a certain size and crew have a "chest of medicines, put up by some apothecary of known reputation, and accompanied by directions for administering the same." If the captain failed to provide such a chest (the modern-day equivalent of a first-aid kit), then he would be required to pay his sailors' medical costs.
In 1798 Congress passed another law dealing with the medical care for certain sailors. The law applied to American ships arriving in a United States port from a foreign port. Upon arrival, the ship's master would pay a fee of 20 cents per sailor, which he could deduct from the sailor's wages. The President was authorized to spend the money collected "to provide for the temporary relief and maintenance of sick or disabled seamen" in port hospitals. Remaining funds (along with private donations) were put toward building maritime hospitals in ports of the United States.
This fee is akin to a tariff. It applied to a specific group (sailors engaged in commerce with foreign ports), and the funds went to fund medical care and hospitals for those same individuals. It could be used at specific hospitals and provided only "temporary relief and maintenance." Indeed, it was not "insurance" at all. And, like the 1792 militia act and the 1790 law, the 1798 law did not apply to any individual not participating in an activity under Congress's enumerated powers.
Furthermore, the law was not created as a social program-it was a national security measure. As legal historian Philip Hamburger notes, early Americans would have recognized this law as a version of England's "Chatham Chest"-a government fund consisting of money deducted from sailor's wages used to support disabled seamen. The fund began following the invasion of the Spanish Armada in 1588 to help Britain maintain a healthy navy and gain military superiority of the seas.
Unlike Britain, America in the 1790s lacked a strong navy. Merchant ships were the navy. Congress used the Marque and Reprisal Clause of the Constitution to give private merchants ships the power to attack and seize enemy vessels during war. Congress passed the 1798 law in response to the Quasi War with France. In June 1798, Congress abrogated existing treaties with France and authorized merchant ships to attack French vessels. At this point, Hamburger notes, "all merchant seamen were potentially engaged in the military struggle." Therefore, Congress enacted the law, one month later, to fund naval hospitals and care for seamen as a part of the war effort.
Like the militia act, the 1798 law was a military necessity in absence of a standing army and navy. As the United States established such forces, the militia requirements were repealed and the marine hospital system was replaced by an official uniformed service-the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
Precedent is found not by looking backwards at history to find justification for current policies but by considering actions in the past in their own context and the principled framework of the action.

Chalk up another entry in the recent string of racially motivated assaults. Today's story comes from Norfolk, Virginia, where a white couple were beaten savagely by a group of (according to reports) between 30 and 100 black youths. Apparently, the beating was so brutal that the couple could only manage to scream out the intersection at which they were located - "Church and Brambleton" - as the blows rained down:

Yesterday marked three years since the Democrat-controlled Senate last passed a budget. In violation of federal law, Harry Reid and his confederates have simply refused, for three years, to put their plans for federal spending on paper. In the last three years, the federal government has spent $10.4 trillion and the national debt has increased by $4.5 trillion. The sheer irresponsibility of Washington Democrats is breathtaking. It is hard to say which is worse-the Senate scofflaws refusing to propose any budget at all, or President Obama's offering consecutive budgets so extreme that neither could garner a single vote in Congress, losing by a combined 511-0. Granted that we have a lot of low-information voters, is it conceivable that Americans will return such a derelict party to power?
