On April 25th the Tennessee State Senate voted unanimously to allow federal and state law enforcement officials full access to the medical records of the citizens of Tennessee. According to SB 2407, "...state and federal law enforcement personnel authorized to have access under 53-10-306 shall be permitted to have real time electronic access to the database..." The statute continues by stating that access is permitted "without the necessity of obtaining a search warrant." It is a law which is scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2012 as "the public welfare [requires] it."(1)
Outraged Tennessee residents who wrote and emailed their state senators about the Constitutionality of the law received the following replies from 2 of the lawmakers:
1.) "Legislation is only unconstitutional when the high court deems it so," and
2.) "Then I'm sure it will be struck down in court." (2)
Controlling a large number of people isn't easy. The United States alone consists of 312 million people spread out across nearly 4 million square miles. Add on nearly 500 million for the population of the European Union and another nearly 4 million square miles of territory. Then pile on Canada with 34 million people and another 4 million square miles, Australia with 22 million and 3 million square miles and a few other stragglers here and there, and the postmodern rulers of the progressive empire have to cope with nearly a billion people spread out across 15 million square miles.
Large territories and large numbers of people are very difficult to govern. Structures tend to break down and people further away from the centers of power don't listen to the boys at the top. The only way to make a going proposition of it is to consolidate as much power as possible at the center and the very act of centralizing power leads to tyranny.
The most direct chokehold possible is physical. China's rulers, faced with vast territory and population, turned to the water empire. The modern West is quickly rediscovering a more sophisticated form of hydraulic despotism, cloaked in talk of saving the planet and providing for everyone's needs.
Western resources are not innately centralized, which makes seizing control of them and routing them through a central point more difficult. This has to be done legislatively and has to be justified by a universal benefit or a crisis. One example of this is FDR's Agricultural Adjustment Act which allowed the government to control wheat grown on a farm for private consumption. Another is nationalizing health care by routing the commercial activity of medicine through government organs. Both services and commodities can be controlled in this manner.
But the larger challenge is that the West is rich and a water empire depends on scarcity. Central control is much less potent if there is plenty of the commodity or service available. It's only when shortages are created in bread or health care that the system really wields power by rationing a scarce commodity or service.
If a resource is scarce, then the water empire has to distribute it efficiently. But if a resource is widely available, then the water empire has to find ways of making it scarce, until the demand vastly outstrips the supply.
The modern water empire is dependent for its power on manufactured shortages. The rise of the progressive state was closely tied to its exploitation of shortages. Its challenge has been to win the race with industrial productivity by manufacturing shortages and destroying wealth faster than it could be created. While the machine of industry created wealth, the machine of government destroyed it. Today the machine of government is very close to winning the race, creating a state of permanent shortages.
Manufactured shortages are the great project of modern governments. This manufacture is done by prohibitively increasing the cost of creating and distributing products and services, by controlling the means of production in the name of wealth redistribution and by prohibiting the production on the grounds that it is immoral or dangerous. Over the 20th century the transition was made from the first to the second and finally to the third.
The third means of manufacturing shortages is the final trump card in the race between human ingenuity and government power. It began with pollution regulation and has reached the stage where all human activity, from a bike ride to the corner to a puff of exhaled air, is a form of pollution. The carbon footprint is to the human being what the Agricultural Adjustment Act was to wheat, a mandate for total central regulation of all human activity.
OCCUPY were just trained to create confrontations at Tea Party events and rallies, nationwide!
In observing the OCCUPY activities over the past year or so, I surmised that their "first wave" was designed to serve as their learning curve, and that their puppet masters would then deploy them to mount "Wave Two", creating new and more vehement outrages, building on their experience.
That's now coming to pass.

Training for OCCUPY members & supporters was conducted around the U.S. this past weekend. We know of this because some Tea Party members infiltrated some training meetings and reported what they've learned
The training was conducted in cities, towns and even smaller communities. Every trainer was equipped with a DVD, handouts and a training manual, and urged to recruit others.
The training included specific instructions to attend Tea Party activities - meetings, rallies and town halls
At such Tea Party events, they were instructed to instigate confrontations and disruption. My source added, '... remember that they are well trained, well funded, extremely well organized and directed. This is no longer the ragtag bunch of fools who are clueless about what they are there for - they are still ragtag but now they have marching orders and each group will have an even better trained leader(s)".
My source also said, "...the OCCUPY movement has gone from semi-organic to fully supported and organized - and as I wrote before (and provided the links to prove this) - they are backed by the Communist and Socialist parties, UAW, SEIU, ACORN, myriad other communist/socialist organizations, Moveon.org, and of course, one of the key money people is George Soros. This collection of 'sponsors' has no good intentions; moreover they are providing tents, food, water, sleeping bags, entertainment, drugs and more. And they have insider's in key roles of leaders to incite and whip these people into a frenzy".
How should Tea Party members handle any "situations"? My suggestions:
1. For your upcoming events, contact your local law enforcement chief well in advance and appraise him or her of your concerns.
2. Share this heads up with your news media - print and broadcast outlets - in advance. Do not wait until stuff happens.
3. Ask your members to have the phone number of the local law enforcement people on their speed dial
4. Ask members to bring a video camera with sound
5..At our weekly sidewalk rallies, I'll call the police first, but if things look bad, I'll instruct my members to leave as soon as something starts. There's no use in engaging in a dispute with them because they will escalate it.
6.If they crash a meeting, call the police. Police have a handy thing in their toolkit called, "Inciting to riot" which aroundhere is good for thirty days in the slammer.
7. One purpose of their disruptions will be to create "news", in which your Tea Party appears in headlines about violence or disturbances. The other purpose is the disruption itself.
8. Be aware that the date May 1st,, May Day, is a traditional big day with lefties of all types, who know it as "International Workers Day". I've seen a separate report that OCCUPY is planning "something big" for that date, but I have no other confirmation about it.

After a 21-day teacher's strike in his district he started a grassroots group, StopTeacherStrikes to advocate for PA to become the 38th state to make teacher's strikes illegal. Simon also served on the board of Pennsylvanians for Right to Work.
He regularly speaks on the need to end compulsory unionism and other aspects of public sector union political power.
It occursin our history that people who had been living quiet lives, uninvolved with public affairs, hear an inner voice that calls them to serve their country and become leaders.
Diana Reimer is one of those people.
I've known her since the spring of 2009, when I attended the first of several Tea Party rallies she and husband Don organized in center city Philadelphia. As she spoke, I realized that here's a woman who is smart, articulate, determined and who has a deep love for her country and for her fellow Americans.
Since then, my awareness of just how special she is has increased: She and Don have helped others to organize Tea Parties in and around Philadelphia; out of their own savings, she has travelled the state and the country in order to further the interests of Tea Parties. Currently, Diana serves as National and PA State Coordinator, Tea Party Patriots as well as Nationwide Local Group Coordinator.
At our General Wayne Tea Party meeting this coming Tuesday, we'll hear from Diana about the condition of Tea Parties in our state and of their successes. Please bring anyone you know who might be interested in the work we are doing. Though there's little drama to her talks, something about her delivery causes people to perk up and focus intently on what she has to say. On Tuesday, you'll see what I mean.

Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"

David Freed has over 15 years of experience as a prosecutor and has handled thousands of cases during his legal career, trying in excess of 100 jury trials in both the civil and criminal arenas. He has prosecuted capital murder cases, run grand jury investigations, taken down child predators and cracked down on elder abuse and fraud. David has also been instrumental in holding sex offenders accountable by closing loopholes in Megan's Law and protecting the rights of crime victims.
He is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association (PDAA). David currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer and previously served as the Chairman of the Education and Training Committee, planning all CLE accredited training programs for Pennsylvania's prosecutors.

Central planning sounds right. It feels good. But it has nothing to do with the realities of economics and science. There is nothing that government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals - and as groups of individuals, working together voluntarily, not at the point of a gun or under threat of a fine.

Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.

In Focus: Senate Bows to Unions on NLRB's "Ambush" Elections Rule
Last Tuesday, the Senate rejected a resolution of disapproval of the National Labor Relations Board's "Amubsh" union elections rule, by a vote of 45-54. Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski was the only Republican to join all 53 Democrats in voting down the disapproval resolution.
AFP Director of Policy James Valvo explained in a press statement, "The Board is aggressively moving to change the rules regarding union-organizing elections to advantage Big Labor and sideline any ability by employees and employers to discuss the pending election. This ambush election rule isn't pro-worker, it's pro-Big Labor."

House
The House spent the week working on a number of cyber security bills. The most high-profile of these, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), passed on Thursday by a vote of 248-168. Among other things, CISPA allows private companies and the government to share cyber intelligence information back and forth on a voluntary basis, so long as the information is used solely for cyber security purposes.
On Friday the House passed an extension for "temporarily" reduced interest rates on federally-subsidized Stafford Loans to undergraduate students, by a vote of 215-195. The House plans to "pay for" the $6 billion one-year cost of the extension by repealing a provision of ObamaCare (the Prevention and Public Health Fund).
Senate
As mentioned above, on Tuesday the Senate failed to stand up to the NLRB and overturn its "ambush" union elections rule. The resolution of disapproval was rejected, 45-54.
The Senate spent the rest of the week working on their version of Postal Service reform legislation - a bill that promises to add $34 billion to the national debt by 2022. A number of amendments to the bill were considered. When Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) brought a point of order on Tuesday, arguing that the bill violated the spending caps imposed by last summer's debt-ceiling agreement, the Senate waived that budgetary discipline with a vote of 62-37. Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) offered an amendment to adopt paycheck protection for unionized postal workers, but it was rejected by a vote of 46-53. Thirteen moderate Republicans joined 49 Democrats in passing the underlying bill, S. 1789, and sending it over to the House for further consideration.

Legislation to Watch
On Friday AFP issued letters of support for two bills that promise to cut spending and rein in the size of government. The CHOP Act, introduced by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) as H.R. 4295, consolidates the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency into a single department while cutting many duplicative functions and wasteful programs among the two current agencies. The Budget for Disasters Act, introduced by Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) as H.R. 4386, closes a budget trick loophole and puts "emergency" disaster aid back under the spending caps imposed by last summer's debt-ceiling deal.
On Wednesday AFP issue a letter of support for the "Restoring Balance" budget resolution introduced by Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA). The bill cuts spending even further than the House-passed Paul Ryan budget, adopts pro-growth reform to the nation's broken tax code, and offers fixes for Medicare and welfare programs that are driving spending growth in Washington.

Discretionary Spending Cuts Alone Will Not Balance the Budget
How bad is America's entitlements crisis? (That includes spending on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and other mandatory programs, plus interest.) The fact is, annual spending on entitlement programs is massive compared to other federal spending priorities. Cutting discretionary spending is necessary, but cuts to foreign aid alone or pulling out of Afghanistan will not close the deficit. Entitlement programs must be reformed. But to really understand how big entitlement spending is compared to other programs, you've got to see the comparison in this chart.
It's one thing to say that America faces a fiscal crisis. It's another thing for Congress and the president to do something about it. It helps to have friends in high places. After the bailout of Detroit's auto makers, virtually all the union workers who were laid off during the industry's downturn were able to get their jobs back. But there are thousands of workers who were barred from going back to work all because they were not in the politically favored UAW.
In today's quasi-bipartisan inane ramblings, Norman Ornstein of the American Enterprise Institute and Thomas Mann of the Brookings Institute want the Washington Press Corps to know the GOP is extremist, destroying the country, and they should all stop paying attention to the GOP or treating them with balance.
Nothing says marginal extremism like holding the US House, most statehouses, most governorships, and a plurality of national party ID.
Now, we know their target audience is the press corps . . .
I hate to admit being wrong, of course, but I'm pretty much stuck here. You see, last week I RedHotted a post where in passing I more or less indicated that I didn't think that it was particularly fair to ding MA senatorial candidate Elizabeth Warren for her claims of Native American ancestry. When I read the story, it seemed that she had merely repeated it as an anecdote from her family history - which is to say, something that I've done myself (family history claims a Huron great-grandmother; I have no evidence whatsoever for this). I also didn't really think that it was all that big a deal that Harvard University was claiming minority status for her for a time; universities do weird things for publicity, she wasn't running for office when it happened, and besides, Harvard stopped doing that a while back anyway. I figured that there were more important things that I could be doing with my time.
Well. This is what happens when you trust the ethical sense of a progressive politician. It turns out that Elizabeth Warren in fact claimed minority status: specifically, in the "Association of American Law Schools' annual directory of minority law teachers" from 1986 to 1995 (more about this at The Volokh Conspiracy (via Instapundit), which also has some interesting details about 'racial fraud' as a legal concept in Massachusetts).
This is more offensive than Cantor throwing his weight behind Adam Kinzinger's re-election bid against Don Manzullo. He was successful there, but we need to shut him down in Indiana.
The Republican Leader in the House of Representatives is not backing down from trying to drive up Democrat turnout in the Indiana Republican Primary.
The other day I suggested Dick Lugar fire his new media guy.
Let's add another example to the list. His campaign sent out an email blast encouraging people to come to a site supporting Richard Mourdock to read a hit piece Lugar's new media guy posted about Mourdock's voting record.
The offense? Not voting for John McCain in the Indiana GOP Primary in 2008.
South Carolina has a mess on its hands and there is a distinct possibility that candidates statewide will be removed from ballots in the coming months.
It all started because of a form called the Statement of Economic Interests which was to be submitted to the S.C. Ethics Commission by March 30, 2012. According to multiple candidates, the filing deadline for this form was listed as April 15th on the Ethics Commission website so when the 30th passed, they were dumbfounded to discover that they might not be eligible to run.
Now lawsuits have been filed in response to a deadline extension that was granted by the South Carolina Ethics Commission to deal with the confusion of the allegedly misprinted deadline dates.
Rigid ideology is for history's losers and the Left. Shouldn't enforced conformity that bullies political beliefs and private lives be viewed as the enemy of true conservatism?

A decade after the United States was viciously attacked, a new attempt by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) to water down the FBI's counterterrorism training materials of valuable information regarding radical Islam has alarmed Members of Congress concerned with our national security. In a March 27, 2012 letter to Director Mueller, Senator Durbin badgers him again for not caving to his politically correct notions, demanding the removal of language and information essential to fighting terrorism.
ACT! for America, the largest national security grassroots organization in the country, as well as Members of Congress are concerned with Senator Durbin's approach, and rightly so. The ongoing purge of counterterrorism training materials used by the FBI as well as state and local law enforcement is a danger to our nation. These actions are a continuation of dangerous steps to manipulate, if not altogether eliminate, a clear definition of the threat that radical Islam poses to our nation.
The human capacity for self-delusion truly is remarkable. Most people out there end up believing exactly what they want to believe even when the truth is staring them right in the face. Take the U.S. economy for example. Barack Obama wants to believe that his policies have worked and that the U.S. economy is improving. So that is what he is telling the American people. The mainstream media wants to believe that Barack Obama is a good president and that his policies make sense and so they are reporting that we are experiencing an economic recovery. A very large segment of the U.S. population still fully supports Barack Obama and they want to believe that the economy is getting better so they are buying the propaganda that the mainstream media is feeding them. But is the U.S. economy really improving? The truth is that it is not.
With its own candidate, Hazem Abu Ismail,disqualified by the election commission, Egypt's Salafist political party, al-Nour, has endorsed former Muslim Brotherhood member Abdel Moneim Abol Fotouh for the presidency. While being called a "moderate" by many news outlets, Fotouh's radical past and a questionable interpretation of Islam's dedication to equality and tolerance presents a problem for both the West and Egypt's more liberal and secular voters.
Controlling a large number of people isn't easy. The United States alone consists of 312 million people spread out across nearly 4 million square miles. Add on nearly 500 million for the population of the European Union and another nearly 4 million square miles of territory. Then pile on Canada with 34 million people and another 4 million square miles, Australia with 22 million and 3 million square miles and a few other stragglers here and there, and the postmodern rulers of the progressive empire have to cope with nearly a billion people spread out across 15 million square miles.

Mayor warns Occupy May Day events could turn violent. Concerned protesters could 'conceal weapons, target police, damage property.'
The mayor of Seattle has warned protesters may use tomorrow's Occupy May Day events to "commit violence, damage property and disrupt peaceful free speech activity."
In a press release issued on Friday, Mayor Mike McGinn also warned of those plotting events tomorrow, "Websites have described trainings in how to conceal weapons beneath signs and banners, and how to target police officers on horses."

Born in Warsaw in 1910, Benzion Netanyahu received his BA from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his PhD from Dropsie College in Philadelphia, where he later became a professor and later still head of the Department of Language and Literature. He took up a professorial post at Cornell and later became head of Cornell's Department of Semitic Languages and Literatures. While living in Israel, he became chief editor of the Encyclopedia Hebraica. His magnum opus, the 1,400-page Origins of the Inquisition in Fifteenth Century Spain, completely altered our understanding of the history of the Jews in Spain.
In the United States, Professor Netanyahu served as the executive director of the New Zionist Organization of America during the 1940s, making him a prominent Revisionist Zionist activist in the United States. He was also editor of the group's biweekly U.S. publication, Zionnews.
In one editorial, he wrote of Jewish suffering through the ages had failed to break the connection between Jews and their faith: "Through oceans of blood, our blood, through oceans of tears, our tears, hated, persecuted, beaten, wandering and homeless, we assemble at the Pesach Seder to thank God for our liberation from Egypt, and to express once again the hope of the Haggada: 'This year we are still slaves - next year we shall be free men.'" Only a nation of our spiritual caliber could come through the ages of unparalleled sufferings with its spirit unbroken; still alive; still striving for liberty. Next year we shall be free men." In 2007, at the age of 98, Benzion Netanyahu flew from Israel to New York to be keynote speaker at the ZOA's Louis Brandeis Dinner. After being introduced by Mortimer Zuckerman, publisher of U.S. News & World Report and past chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Professor Netanyahu stated to the 1,000 plus crowd, "I know you are working against heavy currents towards dissolution and dismemberment [of Israel] and this occurred in the days of President Truman. We had to work hard then to overcome opposition, lack of interest, and the disbelief of American Jews. You, too, have experienced this situation and you have managed to overcome the first obstacle which is always the worst. I hope you will not falter. Compared to the past, your task is considerably easier ... It is vital not to tolerate a [Palestinian] terrorist state in any way or form. This is first in importance. This is why your president must first concentrate on the fulfillment of this commitment, without which we cannot solve any issue ... This is the greatest Zionist meeting I have ever attended since the days of Jabotinsky. It was something to see such enthusiasm for Zionism from the crowd. It made me more optimistic."

"I am proud and privileged to have been able to call Prof. Netanyahu my friend. Almost every week, we had long conversations about the ongoing Arab war against Israel. But he remained a kind and loving gentleman, always offering me tea and cake at his home in Jerusalem and discussing our families and my work.
"He was very proud of his sons, praising Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his brilliance, his oratorical skills, and for his political acumen. He once proudly told me that in 1967, while living in Philadelphia, his sons wanted to leave high school during exams to go fight in the 1967 war - Prof. Netanyahu pleaded with them to stay and complete their exams - but their love of Zion and commitment to Israel caused them to leave and fight for the Jewish State.

According to reports, the U.S. and Russian military will be engaging in an anti-terrorism exercise that will involve Russian paratroopers using U.S. weapons to "take and hold" the main facilities of the CIA and Denver International Airport in Colorado and the National Security Agency in Utah.

In advance of a major Occupy rally planned for Tuesday, President Obama delivered a speech this morning filled with class warfare rhetoric.
The president warned union members that Republicans would rather give "rich folks" more tax breaks, than invest in the American worker.
"Republicans in Congress would rather put fewer of you to work rebuilding America than ask millionaires and billionaires to live without massive new tax cuts on top of the ones they've already gotten," Obama declared in a speech to to construction union members at the Hilton hotel in Washington.
Obama added that Republicans' economic plan depended on tax cuts for the rich and "dismantling your unions." Read more:
Top EPA Official Resigns over 'Crucify' Comment

The Obama administration's top environmental official in the oil-rich South and Southwest region has resigned after Republicans targeted him over remarks made two years ago when he used the word "crucify" to describe his approach to enforcement.
In a letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson sent Sunday, Al Armendariz says he regrets his words and stresses that they do not reflect his work as administrator of the five-state region including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Republicans in Congress had called for Armendariz' firing, after Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe highlighted the May 2010 speech last week as proof of what he refers to as EPA's assault on energy, particularly the technique of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.
Several disputed contamination cases in Texas have helped stoke environmental concerns over fracking.
Book: Obama Held More Fundraisers Than Previous Five Presidents Combined

President Barack Obama has already held more re-election fundraising events than every elected president since Richard Nixon combined, according to figures to be published in a new book.
Citing the new book, the Daily Mail reports that Obama is also the only president in the past 35 years to visit every electoral battleground state in his first year of office.
In 2008, Obama vowed to "launch the most sweeping ethics reform in US history" and said that if elected he would "make government more open, more accountable and more responsive to the problems of the American people."
And in January, during his State of the Union speech, Obama bemoaned the "corrosive influence of money in politics," the Mail points out. The following month, he reversed course and announced he was allowing cabinet members and top advisors to speak at big money events for so-called super PACs - outside groups raising money for his re-election.
The book, "The Rise of the President's Permanent Campaign," by Brendan J. Doherty, gives figures to prove that Obama is more preoccupied with being re-elected than any other commander-in-chief of modern times.
Doherty found that Obama had held 104 fundraisers by March, compared to 94 held by Presidents Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., Bill Clinton and George W. Bush combined. Editor's Note:The Final Turning Predicted for America. See Proof.
But since then, Obama has held another 20 fundraisers, bringing his total to 124. Carter held four re-election fundraisers in the 1980 campaign, Reagan zero in 1984, Bush Sr.19 in 1992, Clinton 14 in 1996 and George W. Bush 57 in 2004.
And while Carter visited eight out of 18 battleground states and Reagan seven out of 17. Bush Sr., Clinton and the younger Bush all visited around three-quarters of battleground states. Obama went to all 15 within his first 12 months.
PJ Media has obtained Facebook postings from Department of Justice Voting Section employees demonstrating contempt for the states for which they have oversight authority under the Voting Rights Act, including for voter ID approval.

Forward?
Here's the latest bit of evidence that the Obama reelection effort is running out of ideas: Washington is buzzing about a new Obama campaign video that seems to suggest its 2012 slogan will be "Forward." Hope and change is obviously out the window. The change is terrible, and many Americans have already lost hope in Obama.
But "Forward"? It's more like "Back to the Future: Jimmy Carter's Revenge." (Let's hope there is a similar ending!) Many commentators can't help but notice just how similar Obama's new slogan is to the "Lean Forward" slogan of MSDNC -- I mean MSNBC.
And if we needed more evidence of just how politically obsessed the Obama White House is, consider this: Obama has held more reelection fundraisers than the past five presidents -- COMBINED!
Boehner Calls Obama's Bluff
Here's another example of just how crassly political Barack Obama has been: In recent days, Obama barnstormed the country, giving campaign speeches at college campuses, desperately trying to energize the youth vote. His main talking point was a false accusation that congressional Republicans wanted to increase interest rates on student loans.
So Speaker John Boehner called Obama's bluff. House Republicans put legislation on the floor Friday to preserve low interest rates on federally subsidized student loans. And they paid for it by cutting funds from an ObamaCare slush fund.
Can you guess what happened next? House Republicans overwhelmingly voted to prevent student loan interest rates from rising, while House Democrats voted against the bill.
Personally, I think the interest rates should be higher than they are today. America is facing a tsunami of student loan debt and keeping the rates artificially low sends the wrong message that taxpayers will just keep bailing out one struggling group after another. (Who is going to bail out the struggling taxpayer?) But I can understand why House Republicans didn't want to let Obama get away with creating yet another manufactured "crisis."
If students are worried about their student loan burdens, they should A) Blame their liberal universities, which have no incentive to control costs due to cheap cash from the federal government and B) Blame Obama for the bad economy that has prevented so many recent graduates from finding decent paying jobs!
Savage Attacks On Faith And Tolerance
Fanatical homosexual activist Dan Savage is the news again. Savage has never let any boundary stop him from promoting his radical agenda, not even assault.
When I ran for the Republican presidential nomination, Savage wormed his way into my Iowa campaign headquarters and knowingly tried to infect me, my campaign staff and volunteers with the flu by licking glasses, door knobs and office equipment. Then he had the audacity to write about it. As a result of incriminating himself, he was charged with voter fraud and sentenced to community service.
Was this just a youthful indiscretion? No. For one, Savage was 35 when he infiltrated my campaign. The Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association recently invited Savage to address the National High School Journalism Conference. They should have known better. Savage may be welcome at the Obama White House, but a cursory review [WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE] would have turned up enough to know this man is not an appropriate speaker for most public audiences.
His speech to aspiring young journalists quickly devolved into a savage attack on the Bible. The man who is supposedly dedicated to teaching tolerance was, true to form, incredibly intolerant of Judeo-Christian values and anyone who believes in them.
About 100 students had the courage to get up and walk out of Savage's profanity-laced bigoted rant. But Savage was just getting warmed up. The anti-bullying crusader bullied the students who left, calling them "pansy a--ed."
Unbelievably, the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association have not apologized for Savage's offensive speech or for inviting him to speak. But what if Savage had said similar things about Muslims or the Koran? Not only would the audience likely have booed him, but these "journalistic" organizations would be under incredible pressure from the media and politicians. Yet Savage's vile anti-Christian bigotry is shrugged off.
In their non-apology statement, the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association said Savage's speech was a "teachable moment" for students. Indeed it was, and it is a teachable moment for men and women of faith everywhere. The lesson is that liberal tolerance is a one-way street. Faith in America is under assault like never before. Elections have consequences, my friends, and we cannot take our cherished values for granted.
The Radical Green Energy Fiasco
The failures and follies of "green energy" are mounting by the day. New research shows that wind farms are contributing to global warming! Remember, friends, whether its bankrupt Solynda or global-warming inducing, bird-dicing wind farms, Obama wants to "double down" on these bad bets with billions of your hard-earned tax dollars.
Speaking of radical environmental fiascos, Al Armendariz, the EPA regulator who said his enforcement philosophy was to "crucify" oil and natural gas companies, resigned yesterday. In a letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, Armendariz wrote, "After a great deal of thought and careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that my continued service will distract you and the agency from its important work."
I suspect Armendariz was thrown under bus by the Obama White House, perhaps hoping to shut down a promised congressional investigation into his outrageous remarks and some highly questionable actions by the EPA. But Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) is promising to pursue the matter, as are members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
The "Comedian In Chief"
I'm sure you've seen the glowing press coverage of this White House Correspondents' Dinner. Some pundits are now referring to Obama as the "Comedian In Chief." Obama was no better than any other president. The only difference is that his jokes are being written by Hollywood sympathizers, and the audience was full of adoring fans.
But did you notice which jokes got the biggest laughs? Most involved Washington's recent scandals like the $800,000 GSA conference or, believe it or not, Operation Fast and Furious. Really? If Bush or Reagan had joked about a brewing scandal they would have been booed out of the room and excoriated by the press for being out-of-touch and trivializing "serious issues."
But when Obama and his liberal media allies get together, the waste of hard-earned taxpayer dollars and even the death of a Border Patrol agent are just fodder for one-liners. I bet the family members of slain Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry aren't laughing. The past three years have been a cruel joke for millions of Americans, but they will get the last laugh on November 6th!

Holder MUST GO!
Dear Patriot, Perhaps due to unlrelenting grassroots pressure in the form of petitions, faxes, and phone calls, CBS News is confirming that House Speaker John Boehner, has given the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee the "go-ahead to proceed" with contempt charges against Attorney General Eric Holder.
For months now pressure has been mounting against Holder regarding his role and knowledge in the "Fast and Furious" gun-walking scandal that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Mexican nationals, and at least one U.S. Border Patrol Agent.
According to the CBS News report, pursuing a contempt charge is a "strong sanction" against the executive branch, and considered "politically risky."
Grassfire Nation fully supports the effort, and is preparing an emergency petition delivery to Rep. Darrell Issa, the chair of the House Oversight Committee as a show of grassroots support for pushing ahead on this important issue.
IContempt charges for Holder are not a certainty. As the report said, they have only been green-lighted to do so. Grassfire Nation believes this dramatically increases chances that Congress will move forward and bring some law, order and accountability into this scandal.

"Live not by lies," Alexander Solzhenitsyn enjoined his countrymen shortly before being exiled from the Soviet Union in 1974. This week the political press finally took his advice.
Since August 2011, when President Obama went on a bus tour of Iowa coinciding with the Ames Republican straw poll, the White House has asked the American people to accept the fantasy that the president's hyper-partisan speeches and appearances are not actually campaign events. The "official" rallies, Obama spokesmen said, would not begin until late in spring of 2012, when at long last the president would "engage" his Republican opponent Mitt Romney.
What "a load of you know what," as our president might say. Obama's every word and action is geared toward reelection. His September 2011 address to a joint session of Congress was nothing more than an act of political positioning: Challenge the Republicans to pass a tax-and-spend jobs bill that has no chance of becoming law, Obama's thinking went, and attack them afterwards as partisan obstructionists. For the incumbent, it would be a win-win.
Fracking 'Health Challenges' to Be Examined by U.S. Advisers

The Institute of Medicine will examine whether the process of hydraulic fracturing to extract natural gas from rock "poses potential health challenges," a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention official said.
Health concerns related to fracking, in which millions of gallons of chemically treated water are forced underground to break up rock and free gas, include the potential for water contamination and air pollution, Christopher Portier, director of CDC's National Center for Environmental Health, said at a workshop in Washington today.
Fracking has enabled energy companies to access fuel trapped in previously impenetrable shale rock, reversing a decline in U.S. gas production. Environmentalists have claimed the chemicals used contribute to water contamination and airborne toxins.

Rhetoric Alert: Stephen King So there might be a little bit of hypocrisy coming from the media. In a new op-ed, Stephen King claims that the rich could be headed the way of Marie Antoinette, who "lost her head", if they don't change their tune and pay "their fair share" of taxes. Isn't that just threatening people with a guillotine?
