Terrorism and the New American Republic
In 1786, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson met with Arab diplomats from Tunis, who were conducting terror raids and piracy against American ships.
History records them as the Barbary Pirates. In fact, they were blackmailing terrorists, hiding behind a self-serving interpretation of their Islamic faith by embracing select tracts and ignoring others. Borrowing from the Christian Crusades of centuries past, they used history as a mandate for doing the western world one better. The quisling European powers had been buying them off for years.
On March 28, 1786 Jefferson and Adams detailed what they saw as the main issue:
"We took the liberty to make some inquiries concerning the Grounds of their pretensions to make war upon a Nation who had done them no Injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our Friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation. The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise."
Thomas Jefferson wanted a military solution, but decades of blackmailing the American Republic and enslaving its citizens would continue until the new American nation realized that the only answer to terrorism was force.
"There's a temptation to view all of our problems as unprecedented and all of our threats as new and novel," says George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley. Shortly after the terror attacks of Sept. 11, Turley advised some members of Congress who were considering a formal declaration of war against the suspected perpetrators. He invoked the precedent of the Barbary pirates, saying America had every right to attack and destroy the terrorist leadership without declaring war.
"Congress did not actually declare war on the pirates," Turley wrote in a memo, "but 'authorized' the use of force against the regencies after our bribes and ransoms were having no effect. This may have been due to an appreciation that a declaration of war on such petty tyrants would have elevated their status. Accordingly, they were treated as pirates and, after a disgraceful period of accommodation, we hunted them down as pirates."
Because of their outlaw conduct, pirates -- and modern-day terrorists -- put themselves outside protection of the law, according to military strategy expert Dave McIntyre, a former dean at the National War College. "On the high seas if you saw a pirate, you sank the bastard," he says. "You assault pirates, you don't arrest pirates."
Shoot first, ask questions later. Wanted: Dead or alive. Such is our official policy regarding Osama bin Laden, the most infamous outlaw of the era.
One of the enduring lessons of the Barbary campaigns was to never give in to outlaws, whether you call them pirates or terrorists. In the late 1700s, America paid significant blackmail for peace -- shelling out $990,000 to the Algerians alone at a time when national revenues totaled just $7 million.
"Too many concessions have been made to Algiers," U.S. consul William Eaton wrote to the Secretary of State in 1799. "There is but one language which can be held to these people, and this is terror."

Wikileaks: Democrats Tampered with 2008 Election Results?
Posted on April 23, 2012 by Conservative Byte
According to emails obtained by WikiLeaks, which is led by the embattled Julian Assange, Republican Senator John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign staff allegedly had evidence that Democrats stuffed ballot boxes in Pennsylvania and Ohio on election night. However, the candidate chose not to pursue voter fraud, according to internal emails obtained from the private intelligence and analysis firm, Stratfor.
Stratfor regularly reports on geopolitics, narcotics, security and terrorism, particularly overseas. The company, which was founded by George Friedman, has high-level subscribers including at least one former U.S. Secretary of State, various foreign governments, and intelligence agencies. The U.S. Marines and the Department of Homeland Security are also customers. In recent months, Stratfor was in the news because a still unknown party hacked the Stratfor website and obtained subscribers' names.

Obama admin to use $8.3 billion "slush fund" to fake out seniors? Update: GAO auditors demand end to slush fund
April 23, 2012 by Ed Morrissey
How does Barack Obama keep from getting ousted by seniors who discover that their Medicare Advantage options for 2013 will be greatly reduced, if not eliminated altogether? After all, ObamaCare's $500 billion in cuts to the highly successful private-public partnership begin in 2013, assuming that the Supreme Court keeps the law in place this summer. Those cuts are necessary to fund the Medicaid expansion that comes in 2014 to provide funding for coverage of many - but not all - of the currently uninsured. Unfortunately for Obama, seniors would normally discover how badly ObamaCare has damaged their options in mid-October during the Medicare open-enrollment period for supplemental coverage, just a couple of weeks before voters have to go to the polls to select the new President, House, and one-third of the Senate. Since seniors are the most reliable voting bloc in the US, this would prove disastrous for Team Obama.
How will they avoid that kind of electoral disaster? Benjamin Sasse and Charles Hurt warn New York Post readers to expect an October non-surprise, thanks to an $8 billion slush fund that will allow the White House to postpone that day of reckoning for one year:
It's hard to imagine a bigger electoral disaster for a president than seniors in crucial states like Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio discovering that he's taken away their beloved Medicare Advantage just weeks before an election. This political ticking time bomb could become the biggest "October Surprise" in US political history. Read more:

We have the opportunity to change business as usual in Harrisburg April 24th and remove the biggest obstacle to real reform in Pennsylvania
Roger Howard is challenging Dominic Pileggi in the April 24th primary
Character and Integrity are more than words; they are a way of life, and Roger Howard will be guided by his convictions and not by the union-greedy, selfish, wasteful agenda. Roger will be a big step towards restoring sanity to the way business is conducted in Harrisburg. His first step was to signed a pledge to NOT take a state pension. He wants to serve, not be served.
Our elected officials have fallen back on old habits and are allowing unions and money toinfluence and control the agenda. Instead of real reform in Pennsylvania, all we get are crumbs -- a few bits of crust to keep us quiet, to keep us feeling like they are doing what we elected them to do.
We can send a loud message that we will no longer allow special interests to come before the taxpayers' interests.
Yes, I believe Roger Howard has the moral fortitude to work for the taxpayer and not for special interest.
I am supporting Roger Howard because I believe in him. He is not a career politician willing to sacrifice his integrity for his own self-interest.
Please take a few minutes to listen to Roger's radio interview and you-tube video
http://wche.podomatic.com/ (Please scroll to the April 3rd date to hear this interview)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6REWvouVS0
"We are going to get back to our roots and be the party of fiscal responsibility and integrity."
Dominic Pileggi is the poster child for what is wrong with our elected officials. As the Senate Majority Leader, he has the clout and influence to move bills forward that will do something to ease our deficit, to reform pension and prevailing wage laws. All it takes is a minor adjustment to both bills and we could reverse this dangerous course for our state. But we must have the leadership to get this accomplished.
That's why I am working so hard to get Roger Howard elected. I believe in him, I believe he is a man of integrity and character: an Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne, jump-qualified; a man with a PhD in Chemistry, who has a patent that ensures medicines are safely packaged; a man who knows about business; and a man who studies the bills and sees the added wasted line-items that only increase our deficit and waste taxpayer money.
Please vote for Roger Howard Pennsylvania State Senate 9th District on April 24th.

OCCUPY were just trained to create confrontations at Tea Party events and rallies, nationwide!
In observing the OCCUPY activities over the past year or so, I surmised that their "first wave" was designed to serve as their learning curve, and that their puppet masters would then deploy them to mount "Wave Two", creating new and more vehement outrages, building on their experience.
That's now coming to pass.
Please relay this to other Tea Parties.
Lou Flanagan
The General Wayne Tea Party
From a reliable source:
1, Training for OCCUPY members & supporters was conducted around the U.S. this past weekend. We know of this because some Tea Party members infiltrated some training meetings and reported what they've learned.
2. The training was conducted in cities, towns and even smaller communities. Every trainer was equipped with a DVD, handouts and a training manual, and urged to recruit others.
3. The training included specific instructions to attend Tea Party activities - meetings, rallies and town halls
3. At such Tea Party events, they were instructed to instigate confrontations and disruption. My source added, '... remember that they are well trained, well funded, extremely well organized and directed. This is no longer the ragtag bunch of fools who are clueless about what they are there for - they are still ragtag but now they have marching orders and each group will have an even better trained leader(s)".
4. My source also said, "...the OCCUPY movement has gone from semi-organic to fully supported and organized - and as I wrote before (and provided the links to prove this) - they are backed by the Communist and Socialist parties, UAW, SEIU, ACORN, myriad other communist/socialist organizations, Moveon.org, and of course, one of the key money people is George Soros. This collection of 'sponsors' has no good intentions; moreover they are providing tents, food, water, sleeping bags, entertainment, drugs and more. And they have insider's in key roles of leaders to incite and whip these people into a frenzy".
5. How should Tea Party members handle any "situations"? My suggestions:
1. For your upcoming events, contact your local law enforcement chief well in advance and appraise him or her of your concerns.
2. Share this heads up with your news media - print and broadcast outlets - in advance. Do not wait until stuff happens.
3. Ask your members to have the phone number of the local law enforcement people on their speed dial
4. Ask members to bring a video camera with sound
3..At our weekly sidewalk rallies, I'll call the police first, but if things look bad, I'll instruct my members to leave as soon as something starts. There's no use in engaging in a dispute with them because they will escalate it.
4.If they crash a meeting, call the police. Police have a handy thing in their toolkit called, "Inciting to riot" which around here is good for thirty days in the slammer.
6. One purpose of their disruptions will be to create "news", in which your Tea Party appears in headlines about violence or disturbances. The other purpose is the disruption itself.
7. Be aware that the date May 1st,, May Day, is a traditional big day with lefties of all types, who know it as "International Workers Day". I've seen a separate report that OCCUPY is planning "something big" for that date, but I have no other confirmation about it.
Regards,
Lou

Tea party "appalled" by Welch ad
Tuesday, 17 April 2012 | Written by Tim McNulty
On their touchstone tax day, Pittsburgh-area tea party groups are pushing back on an ad from GOP US Senate candidate Steve Welch saying he has the support of "grassroots Republicans."
"I was astounded and appalled that someone who claims to be a legitimate candidate would make an incredible claim," Pittsburgh tea party leader Patti Weaver, of Fox Chapel, said in a statement emailed to reporters today. " The citizens of Pennsylvania deserve candidates who maintain a standard of truth in advertising standard. We call on Mr. Rob Gleason to denounce this ridiculous advertisement by Mr. Welch."
While the Republican establishment, including Gov. Tom Corbett, is behind Welch most tea party support has gone to former state Rep. Sam Rohrer.
A letter Weaver and other tea party organizers sent to state GOP chair Rob Gleason...:
Dear Chairman Gleason:
As tea party organizers, we can tell you that the grassroots movement does not support Steve Welch as indicated in your new advertisement. Steve Welch voted for Barack Obama and lacks the political gravitas needed for the job of U.S. Senator.
At a meet the candidate event on Sunday, April 1, Steve was asked why he voted for Barack Obama. Initially, Steve said he was a lifelong Republican and he voted for McCain. Yet, when pushed, Steve admitted that he switched parties and he voted for Obama in the primary. So, contrary to his initial response, Steve Welch is not a lifelong Republican and he did vote for Barack Obama.
The statement in your new advertisement that Steve Welch is supported by the grassroots is flat out not true, neither is your statement that the grassroots Republicans have overwhelmingly endorsed Steve Welch. Please review your numbers from the State Committee meeting and you will see that roughly 33% of those in attendance did not support endorsing anyone. Also, those who consider themselves Grassroots at the State Committee either voted to not endorse, abstained to choose a candidate to endorse or voted for someone other than Steve Welch.
We formally ask that you do not air this ad unless you can substantiate with market research that the Grassroots Republicans overwhelmingly endorse Steve Welch.
We will do everything in our power to see that as many Grassroots people as possible know that Steve Welch voted for Barack Obama.
Respectfully,

Is Tom Smith the best candidate to represent constitutional conservative Republicans in the Senate?
- Smith is not a PROVEN conservative. Talk is cheap; action, particularly under pressure, proves a man. Having never held elective office, except as a Democratic supervisor of his small town in the 70's, Tom has no record of standing for conservative policies under political pressure. How many conservative candidates who said (and often believed) the right things have gone to Washington and caved to pressure? Tom is not battle-tested in the arena of politics. How do we know he will stand? Can we afford to be uncertain about a candidate for Senate? With Sam Rohrer's proven voting record, we can know that where he stood in Harrisburg for 18 years, he willstand in Washington. A proven trusted veteran conservative is who we need to take the lead in D.C.
- Smith is not prepared for leadership in the Senate. Tom, as the CEO of his company, no doubt has good leadership skills. But is he prepared to be a legislator in the highest legislative office in the land? Does he have the experience and constitutional knowledge to be able to evaluate legislation on constitutional guidelines? Does he have the knowledge of the issues and ability to articulate them that a Senator must have? Tom's struggling performance during the debates he attended and failure to show at several other debates indicate his lack of experience with policy issues. The Senate is not the position to cut your teeth on; the critical issues of our times do not allow for months of adjustment and training to bring a newcomer up to speed. Why would we assume that experience is a valued asset in every other area of life than government? Only Sam has the experience to immediately begin contributing to the promotion of a conservative agenda in D.C.
- Smith has already proven himself to be unprincipled in some contexts. When When asked directly who he voted for in the Sestak-Specter primary, Tom said he couldn't remember. He also couldn't remember whether he voted for Obama in the Primary of 2008. Really? Furthermore, in a recent debate, Tom said - and repeated - how much he regretted being put in a position where he had to "compromise his values" in order to get permits. So what will he compromise to make gains in D.C.? Finally, his attack ads misrepresent the truth. To say of Sam Rohrer that he is "just another career politician" who voted for the "unconstitutional midnight pay raise" is highly misleading and slanderous to a man of Sam's proven character. Since the PA Constitution instructs the legislature to vote on pay raises, it can hardly be called unconstitutional. If Tom did his homework and had a regard for the truth, he would know that Sam vocally opposed and voted against the payroll voucher provision - the only unconstitutional part of that bill, never took a cent of that money, and spearheaded the repeal of the payraise. And Tom knows very well that Sam's public service has never been focused on advancing his career, presumably that is why Smith heavily supported Sam in the gubernatorial race. Sam's stand on principles has cost him the support of party leadership; that's hardly the way to advance your career. Why is Tom Smith not more careful with the truth? When challenged in a recent debate about the negativity of the ads, Tom said that he "had to get negative" because he "had to defend" himself. Is that honest? Everyone knows that the first attack ad came from Smith's campaign, not the other way around. Sam Rohrer's campaign is focused on communicating his vision, principles, and policy ideas to the voters, not on manipulating them through misinformation.
- Smith can not beat Casey. Smith's personal fortune will not make the difference in the race against Casey. Republican money will go to whoever wins the nomination. What will he have to challenge Casey's wider name recognition, deeper war chest, and greater knowledge of all things political? Smith has no record of conservative votes to show up Casey's liberal voting record, as Sam does. He can not convince voters that he wouldn't vote for tax raises and increased spending by pointing to his voting record. The Democrats have already targeted his voting record as a township supervisor to demonstrate that he did vote to raise taxes. Sam never did in 18 years. All Smith has to run on are words - and that is not Tom's strong suit. Casey will make mincemeat of Tom if they ever debate the issues; anyone who has heard Tom in a debate knows that to be true. And Tom has to convince the voters that he is knowledgeable about the issues, the problems, the solutions; he has to be able to intelligently answer questions in all kinds of public forums and media appearances. Further, Tom's history as a former lifelong Democrat unproven in elected office weakens his support among the grassroots volunteers and the loyal Republican voters. Democrats are not likely to be drawn to a defector from their ranks. By contrast, some have already indicated support for Sam who has a record of acting independently of his party leadership, of putting the people and principles before Party. Sam has already received the endorsement of the African Episcopalian bishops in Philly and the Pentecostal clergy of Philadelphia. Why? Because people across party lines are tired of politicians who are controlled by the party powerful and respond to Sam's message of truth and integrity in government proven by a consistent and principled record. Only Sam has a record that proves him to be a defender of the Constitution and a champion of the people over the Party.

Just bring a covered dish and enjoy the fellowship of like minded conservatives while supporting a candidate who believes in the same things you do.
Please take 30 mins. of your day to make calls for Sam, we are targeting people that are uninformed and undecided on who they are voting for on April 24th.
The address here at HQ is : 3821 Main St. Morgantown,PA 19543, The phone
number is 610-901-3391 or 484-302-6336, and my name is Mark Driver.
Let's WIN this together !
Thank you Jeff and Brenda Ney for this fantastic explanation! For those of you who have asked how you can respond to people about the negative attack ads against Sam, this is information that my husband put together. I hope it helps you as you interact with people both before and on election day. 1. The pay raise vote was NOT unconstitutional. The vote was COMPLETELY within the law. This charge by Smith is a BALD FACE LIE!. The part that was unconstitutional was the action of the State House leadership AFTER the vote, when they tried to take the raise in the same year it was enacted. They also added in an increase in unvouchered expense reimbursement also to be taken in the same year. The State Constitution only allows an increase in benefits to take place after next election cycle, to allow voters the choice of removing those that would vote for an increase in benefits. With that being said, Sam was one of a handful of ethical legislators that fought to REPEAL the newly enacted law, and they were successful with, Ed Rendell signing the repeal on November 16, 2005. Bottom line SAM NEVER TOOK THE PAY RAISE OR ANY INCREASE IN PER DIEM EXPENSES! PERIOD! 2. The Pension issue. While Sam voted way back in 2001 to increase state pensions, he did so based on faulty, untruthful projection numbers given by Governor Ridge at the time. It as not MASSIVE. It totaled about 17%. He also apogized for his vote in many public forum owning up to his mistake. SEND THEM THIS LINK http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/regional/s_664066.html 3. 'Billed Taxpayers over $14,000 in 'personal expenses'. First of all, they are NOT personal expenses. The State House has a LAWFUL per diem reimbursement for expenses while conducting State business on State time. The lawmakers do not 'bill' the state for their expenses, they fill out an expense report like everyone does in business. Rohrer has been consistently in the bottom 5% for the use of these monies. A fact this hit piece fails to acknowledge. After numerous Google searches, I was unable to find the article referenced in the hit piece. Lastly, you can tell people that these false advertisements show the true character of a candidate. Tell them if Smith is lying to you now, how can you ever trust him to tell the truth once in office. You might also tell them he is spending over $250,000 a year on the political consultants that help him put together these hit pieces and that he is voted in 19 straight Democratic primaries for Democratic candidates before turning Republican. It's easy to attack the record of another when you have NO VOTING RECORD YOURSELF!!! I hope this helped you. Jeff Ney -- Brenda Ney Berks County Chair Rohrer for US Senate www.rohrerforsenate.org

Here's our sample ballot for Tuesday.
We are looking for volunteers to hand out our sample ballot, post our signs and hand out material for other conservative candidates in Bucks County on Tuesday. We are working with several campaigns, so if you can help, please send an email to Ana Puig at TheKitchenTablePatriots.org. Feel free to call her at (267) 884-6335. Here is a link to the brochure on the candidates that will be mailed and handed out this weekend: KTP Delegate Candidates 2012.2.pdf
If you can even spare 1 hour on election day, please let us know and we'll get ballots to you.
Here is a radio interview with Anastasia Przybylski talking about the delegate race in the 8th district:
 | Anastasia Przybylski, Co-Founder of Kitchen Table Patriots, on "Chai95 Radio Hour" (Tue. 4/17/12) |
Yours in Liberty, The Kitchen Table Patriots
Web: TheKitchenTablePatriots.org PLEASE THANK A FEW OF OUR STATE REPRESENTATIVES FOR REMAINING NEUTRAL We would like to thank State Senator Chuck Mcilhinney, State Representative Marguerite Quinn and State Representative Kathy Watson for standing strong by not signing the multiple letters that have gone out to voters in the 8th Congressional District supporting the party endorsed candidates for Delegate and Alternate Delegate. They have shown leadership and courage by choosing to remain neutral and we appreciate that so much! The local party's tactics in the Delegate race should have come as no surprise to any of us considering what they did to our home grown Senatorial Candidate Dave Christian during State Committee weekend in late January. Dave is a life long Republican who grew up in Bucks County and went on to live the American Dream by serving his country. He was, unfortunately, snubbed by the Bucks County leadership at State Committee exposing our leadership's true colors. SAM ROHRER FOR SENATE The Kitchen Table Patriots asks you to please consider voting for Sam Rohrer on Tuesday, April 24th. Below, you will find the clear objective differences between the three top candidates in this race: Sam Rohrer, Tom Smith and Steve Welch. This can be summarized by simply saying this: Sam has been a consistent conservative and Pennsylvania needs to avoid another R2D2 Senator (Republican turned Democrat turned Republican turned Democrat) like Arlen Specter. Sam Rohrer - The only lifelong Constitutional Republican of the three candidates (and news flash: he is not owned by the Republican party!).
- The only candidate who has held a major office by serving in the PA House of Representatives for 18 years.
- His record and position on the full range of issues is clear and established: Sam has opposed tax increases and has created complete alternative state budgets that spent less and spent better; he has fought for parental choice in education; he has defended the 2nd amendment rights; he has defended life from conception; he has opposed major issues of federal intrusion in state sovereignty.
- He favors opening for drilling and sees it as an opportunity for growth.
- He has debated and championed limited government and free enterprise.
- He has stood and not compromised his convictions on principle.
Tom Smith - He was a registered Democrat for 42 years.
- He has contributed to Democratic candidates for office.
- He has voted in at least 19 Democratic primaries.
- He has served as a Committee Man in the Democratic party.
- He has served as Township Supervisor where he raised taxes 9 times on his constituents with one of those tax increases being a 33% property tax increase.
- He did not switch parties until late August of last year (this is a big concern considering that when asked who he voted for in 2008 by Steve Welch, he claimed he could not remember).
- He told a group of manufacturers in Erie a few weeks ago that he was forced to regularly compromise his values in order to obtain needed permits.
- He has stated that the system has become a problem and that he has had to compromise to continue (this statement is absolutely condemning and should serve as evidence he is already primed to make the deals and compromise his values in D.C.).
- He has no voting record; therefore making him unproven and untested.
- He run a very negative campaign.
Steve Welch - Welcomed the endorsement from the PA Republican Party.
- He has never run for office or casted votes.
- He supported Joe Sestak in 2006.
- He switched parties and voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 Primary.
- He did not vote for Barack Obama in November of 2008 as Tom Smith so often claims. He voted for John McCain for President!
- He has an unproven and untested record.
- He has not proved himself long enough before attempting to represent the state of PA in D.C.
We are voting in a Republican Primary on Tuesday. Why are we even considering two former Democrats as candidates when we have Sam Rohrer as a clear choice? |
Voter's Guide - Urgent information
April 12, 2012
Dear Patriots,
As a businessman, father and grandfather I believe that we have reached a historic crossroad where we have been forced to either fight for a serious change in direction or suffer the loss of what we currently hold dear. Unfortunately, most persons have been convinced that they should do very little or nothing at all.
I was recently at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference where a very stark revelation was made clear. A question was asked of the 700 plus people in the auditorium: "How many persons here believe that you have had it better than your parents?" I believe that everyone raised their hand. The speaker then asked "How many of you believe that your children will have it as good as you?" Every hand went down.
Personally, I believe along with many others that we are in very serious trouble. We are a very short distance from the rioting in the streets as we see in countries like Greece. Our politicians are not seriously addressing the problems. They continue to bribe the American public with money that is not theirs.
This overspending is not only dishonest and unethical; it is immoral and must be stopped if we have any real hope for our children and grandchildren.
Please take the time to review the voter's guide at the link provided. You will see that there is only one candidate for US Senate who we can really count on to stand firm against the establishment pressure for "spending as usual." The other candidates may be a help, but we do not know for certain how they will eventually vote on important issues and we honestly think they will compromise on many fronts.
Churches have every right to make this information available in bulk to the congregation and the general public. They are not allowed to tell persons who to vote for, but they can tell everyone that there is a voting guide available for the Primary Election and challenge people to do their part.
Please get involved by distributing this Voter's Guide to as many persons as possible, especially at the polls on April 24. Do not let this opportunity escape us.
Sincerely Yours,
David M. Nyce President/Pilgrim Tours

George W. Bush to speak in Pennsylvania on GOP presidential primary day
Former President George W. Bush will deliver a speech in Pennsylvania on the day of the state's GOP presidential primary. Bush is the only prominent politician in his family that has not made an endorsement in the 2012 presidential race.
Bush will give the keynote address at the Plumstead Christian School's annual "Founders Forum" on the Calvary Church's campus in Souderton, according to the school's official website.
His father, former President George H. W. Bush is the most recent member of the Bush family to endorse former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for president.
Bush reportedly asked Romney if his son had endorsed him for president yet.
"I haven't met with President George W. Bush," Romney said. "We speak from time to time."
Barbara Bush, his wife, replied, "We'll talk about that."

Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Weeks One & Two Now Available - Sign Up TODAY!
 | Dr. Larry P. Arnn |
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
"Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution"
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101" course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.

The U.S. Constitution
A Reader
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Editorial Note: Just received a couple of copies of the reader. Not just a short course pamphlet this; with the heft of 'Atlas Shrugged', it is well worth getting whether or not you choose to take the course.
About Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs. Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012. |

About John Stossel
John Stossel joined Fox Business Network (FBN) in 2009. He hosts "Stossel," a weekly program highlighting current consumer issues with a libertarian viewpoint, which debuted. His first shows covered health care, global warming, the novel Atlas Shrugged, "food police", and the Road to Serfdom.
Prior to joining FBN, Stossel co-anchored ABC's prime-time news magazine show, 20/20. There he contributed in-depth special reports and recurring segments on a variety of consumer topics, from pop culture to government and business.
John Stossel's new book, "No, They Can't: Why Government Fails-but Individuals Succeed,"argues: "There ought not to be a law." Stossel explains how politicians promise to solve problems by passing laws, but the laws invariably make our problems worse.
Why don't we learn? Because our brains don't intuit well about complex situations. After thousands of years of taking orders from tribal elders, after years of obeying our parents, we are programmed to think that anytime there is a problem, whether it's companies going bankrupt or schools keeping kids stupid, government action is the way to solve it. Using his decades of reporting, Stossel tackles how those intuitive, knee-jerk reactions lead us astray.
Central planning sounds right. It feels good. But it has nothing to do with the realities of economics and science. There is nothing that government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals - and as groups of individuals, working together voluntarily, not at the point of a gun or under threat of a fine.

From July 16 through July 18, 2012, Christians United for Israel will be holding its 7th Annual Washington Summit. We're going back to stand with Israel in our nation's capital. This year - more than ever - we need you to join us!
In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
- We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
- We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
- We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
- We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.
We stand at a critical juncture in history. Don't be silent! Don't miss your chance to make a difference! Don't pass up your opportunity to defend America and bless Israel!
Our leaders need to remember that we are watching them and we need to remember that God is watching us.
The time to speak out for Israel is now! Please register today for CUFI's 2012 DC Summit.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
- Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
- Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
- Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

On Thursday, our staff finalized the most explosive resource that Grassfire has ever published. It's called 69 Obama Lies. It's a Fantastic Resource for this election year!
I believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough "vetting" of Obama's actual words in print. And I know it is going to outrage the Left because we actually hold Obama accountable for what he said!
Dear Patriot, About six weeks ago, our staff set out with the goal of putting the "truth detector" to what Obama has actually said. What we realized is Obama has lied so pervasively and thoroughly that even our staff had forgotten many of his most outrageous fibs! That's when we realized we had to create a written record of the Obama Lies. When we finished, we had created a 122-page, 20,000-word dossier that documents a disturbing cross-section of fibs, falsehoods, and fabrications that our President has used to win votes while implementing his radical agenda. Go here to see a larger image of the cover and the full list of 69 Obama Lies we have documented: http://www.grassfire.com/24098/offer.asp?Ref_ID=600013 + + The Lies that got Obama elected... 69 Obama Lies is organized in six sections that cover everything from the lies Obama has told about himself (we call these "ObamaLies"), to his campaign lies, his lies about government and taxes, ObamaCare and domestic and foreign policy. They are all here -- and footnoted so you will have complete documentation. We start with the ObamaLies -- his denial of Rev. Wright.... the "normalcy" of his church... the Bill Ayers lie... the ACORN lie... and Obama's "Brother's Keeper" lie which exposes his Marxist core. Let's be clear -- it was these "ObamaLies" along with his campaign lies that got Obama elected in the first place. Obama's ability to cloak his real beliefs and his real associations (with the willing help of the liberal media) kept his campaign moving forward. But we don't stop there.... + + Obama's "Big Government" Lies 69 Obama Lies also tracks the BIG LIE that Obama sold to the American people just after Inauguration Day -- that massive deficit spending would "create and save" jobs and restore the economy. It was all a LIE. We know that now. But it is vitally important to have the facts laid out in an orderly fashion. That's precisely what 69 Obama Lies does. We expose the full range of Obama's Big Government lies...
The "Create Or Save Jobs" Lie... The Stimulus Law is Working" Lie... The "I'll Cut The Deficit" Lie... The "Government Motors" Lie... The "Cash for Clunkers" Lie... The "Rich Pay Less In Taxes" Lie...
+ + Border Lies, ObamaCare Lies... Energy Lies... 69 Obama Lies literally covers every aspect of Obama's presidency -- from his lies about border security and immigration to his lies about gas prices and green jobs. We saved a whole section for Obama's signature legislative "achievement" -- ObamaCare. We've identified a Baker's Dozen of fibs Obama told just to get ObamaCare passed. And please note that each of the 69 Obama Lies is like a mini research report -- clearly laying out the specific Obama lie and fully documenting our sources. You get the actual words of Obama set against the truth -- the LIE next to the reality check. Go here to request your copies and see the complete list of 69 Lies: http://www.grassfire.com/24098/offer.asp?Ref_ID=600013 + + 69 Obama Lies Begins Shipping In Two Weeks! If you can help Grassfire with a contribution of ANY AMOUNT (even a few dollars to cover printing and shipping), we'll send you TWO COPIES of "69 Obama Lies" -- one to keep and one to share with a friend. We have asked the printer to rush the first printing of 69 Obama Lies so we can get this resource into our team members' hands as quickly as possible. As a result, we expect to begin shipping 69 Obama Lies the week of April 23.
In order to be included in our first shipment, please let me hear from you as soon as possible. Go here to request your two copies:
http://www.grassfire.com/24098/offer.asp?Ref_ID=600013 I truly believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough and most important resource Grassfire has ever created. And I want to put it in the hands of every Grassfire team member. Please take a moment to order your two copies of 69 Obama Lies today, and thanks for the stand you are taking. Steve Elliott Grassfire Nation
P.S. As I write, the manuscript is going to the printer and we expect to begin shipping 69 Obama Lies the week of April 23. The first print run of our last resource quickly sold out. Please go here to see the complete list of 69 Obama Lies and to order your copies:

Five Republicans battle in April primary to oppose Sen. Casey in fall
April 8, 2012 4:44 pm
1/7
WASHINGTON -- Everyone, it seems, wants Bob Casey's job.
Who wouldn't? The U.S. senator from Pennsylvania has one of Washington's most sought-after offices outside the White House.
His third-floor space in the Russell Senate Office Building was once occupied by the young Sen. John F. Kennedy. Four 8-by-10 shots on the wall show that Mr. Kennedy's desk was in the spot now reserved for office visitors who perch on a yellow couch to meet with Mr. Casey.
The office space, though, doesn't go with the job. Offices are assigned by seniority. Mr. Casey got the coveted spot when its prior occupant, Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., took over Joe Biden's office when the Delaware senator became vice president.
That's something Steve Welch, Tom Smith, Sam Rohrer, Marc Scaringi, David Christian and Joe Vodvarka ought to know.
The five Republicans and one Democrat -- Mr. Vodvarka -- are on the ballot to unseat the one-term U.S. senator from Scranton. John Kensinger wants a shot, too. The Bedford County pharmacist is running as a write-in candidate after failing to collect enough signatures to appear on the Republican primary ballot.
Recent polls show no clear frontrunner in the Republican contest, but indicate that Mr. Casey would beat any of them if the general election were held today.

Patriots,
My name is Mike Ludwig. I'm the Republican endorsed candidate for the 148th Legislative District. I was removed from the ballot after a lot of hard work and I'm not ready to give up the fight. A little about myself, I am 35 years old, married to my high school crush and we have three very adorable children. I've been serving in the US Army for 15 years and am pushing for 20 years. My wife, as well is in the Army National Guard. I have been deployed several times and was honored to serve my country. I worked for the Montco Sheriff Dept for 6 years before I made a job change to Lebanon County and then worked as a Police Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 6 years. I then went back to my "home" county where all my friends and family live and have been enjoying my time at the Montco Sheriff Dept since Sept 2010. I am looking to push for 300 Republican write in signatures. Although I have an army of family and in-laws that are willing to do the write in for me I'm looking for further support. I would greatly appreciate any help that you can offer. We are fighting certain factions of the GOP machine that are corrupt. Let's give the people a conservative choice in November. tugger023@yahoo.com Cell 610-772-6492 Home 610-579-3908 148th Legislative District Whitpain Township Upper Dublin Township Conshohocken Borough Whitemarsh Township Lower Merion Township Narberth Borough Best Regards, Mike Ludwig

Call your Senators and Tell Them to Strike the U Visa Provisions from VAWA!
Any day now, the Senate is poised to take up the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) reauthorization bill (S. 1925), which would grant tens of thousands of additional U visas to aliens, both legal and illegal.
Although VAWA was created to help victims of domestic violence and abuse, the open-borders lobby has turned the bill into its latest vehicle to increase visas and grant amnesty to illegal aliens. In fact, the latest version before the Senate (S. 1925) by Sen. Pat Leahy (D-VT) would increase U visas by over 34,000! Call your Senators and urge them to oppose expansion of the U Visa Program!
Here is why the U Visa Program represents bad immigration policy:
- Although Congress created the U visa to help victims of domestic violence, the program is actually a path to citizenship for virtually anyone who applies.
- Illegal aliens are eligible for U visas, and once obtained, they may remain in the country for four years at a time, receive work authorization, and become eligible for a green card after three years!
- There is no limit to the number of derivative visas that may be issued to qualifying family members of a U visa holder.
- Once a U visa application is approved, work authorization is granted automatically to the alien and his or her qualifying family.
- Even family members in deportation proceedings or with final orders of removal are eligible for legal status under the program.
- The U visa program is unnecessary: USCIS already has authority to grant temporary legal status through humanitarian parole or deferred action to alien victims who help prosecute their assailants.
To combat this effort to exploit VAWA, Senate Republicans, led by Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) and Charles Grassley (R-IA), have offered alternate legislation that would strike the immigration-related provisions in the bill. Call your Senators NOW and urge them to support the Hutchison-Grassley alternative to S.1925.
CALL your Senators TODAY and tell them:
- You oppose expansion of the U visa program;
- You oppose attempts to exploit VAWA to increase immigration and give amnesty to illegal aliens; and
- You want the Senate to support the Hutchison-Grassley alternative to S. 1925, which strikes the immigration provisions from the bill.

1 in 2 new graduates are jobless or underemployed
By HOPE YEN | Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) - The college class of 2012 is in for a rude welcome to the world of work.
A weak labor market already has left half of young college graduates either jobless or underemployed in positions that don't fully use their skills and knowledge.
Young adults with bachelor's degrees are increasingly scraping by in lower-wage jobs - waiter or waitress, bartender, retail clerk or receptionist, for example - and that's confounding their hopes a degree would pay off despite higher tuition and mounting student loans.
An analysis of government data conducted for The Associated Press lays bare the highly uneven prospects for holders of bachelor's degrees.
Opportunities for college graduates vary widely.
While there's strong demand in science, education and health fields, arts and humanities flounder. Median wages for those with bachelor's degrees are down from 2000, hit by technological changes that are eliminating midlevel jobs such as bank tellers. Most future job openings are projected to be in lower-skilled positions such as home health aides, who can provide personalized attention as the U.S. population ages.

Morning Bell: The Bloated Government of America
Mike Brownfield
April 23, 2012
The General Services Administration blew through $820,000 in taxpayers' money in a lavish "team building" trip to Las Vegas, and President Barack Obama is "apoplectic" at the news, according to the president's campaign advisor, David Axelrod. Obama, he says, has devoted his efforts to saving "tens of billions of dollars" in cutting waste, fraud and inefficiency in government. Yet under President Obama's leadership, government spending keeps growing irresponsibly, and neither he nor his allies in Congress are doing anything about it.
The latest example came last week when Democratic leadership in the Senate again passed the buck on enacting a budget - on April 29, it will have been three years since the Senate last passed a budget resolution. Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-ND),whose job it is to shepherd a budget through the Senate, said of his decision: "This is the wrong time to vote in committee. This is the wrong time to vote on the floor. I don't think we will be prepared to vote before the election." Conrad also said that offering a budget would be futile and "would do little to move us closer to a bipartisan agreement that can actually be adopted."
In other words, budgeting is hard work that he'd rather not do, especially in an election year. Of course, 2011 was not an election year, and yet the Senate failed to pass a budget then, too.

RedState Morning Briefing
For April 24, 2012
1. What Do Solyndra, Mexican Drug Cartels, And Enron Have In Common?
Answer: all three received subsidies from the Export-Import Bank.
The Export-Import Bank is nothing more than a fund for corporate welfare backed by the American taxpayer. It's time for Congress to shut down the Export-Import Bank for good.
2. Barack Obama: coming up short among female voters.
There's a lot of interesting stuff going on under the hood of this Hill poll showing that more voters believe that Romney & the GOP respect working women than voters believe that Obama & the Democrats respect stay at home parents. Especially since the same poll is giving the edge to Romney on who understands women's issues better, and a tie on which party is better for women. But what I'd like to point out is another poll that was only touched upon in passing; because the information found there will be even more distressing to the Democrats. Yes, this is a burying-the-lede post. We have to do a lot of those.
3. The NRA Lets ALEC Take the Bullet
At Grover Norquist's Wednesday meeting a discussion about the ongoing assault against ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council, came up. Multiple sources (there are hundreds in the room) tell me that the NRA representative took issue with ALEC getting rid of his public safety section. That section has drafted a model "stand your ground" law, which Florida passed.
The NRA representative claimed that if ALEC was going to run away from the fight on these public safety issues, ALEC might just run away from other issues too, e.g. immigration.
At that point the ALEC representative pointed out that ALEC had actually sought help from the NRA on "stand your ground" laws, but the NRA decided, yet again, to play it safe and wound up letting ALEC take the bullet.

The Universalist Holocaust
Everyone deals with trauma in different ways. Getting violently attacked on a street late at night. Watching a loved one murdered in front of your eyes. Feeling the fire on your skin as your home burns. It's not just the pain of the experience, it's realizing afterward how your world has changed and that your life will never be the same. There are two basic human responses to an assault. I will protect myself. I will make the world a better place. The first deals with the risk of an attack. The second with your feelings about the world. The first leaves you better able to cope with an attack. The second makes you feel better about the world. The Jewish response to the Holocaust fell into these two categories. Never Again and Teach Tolerance. And the two responses were segmented by population. Never Again became the credo of Israel and Teach Tolerance became the credo of the Western Diaspora. There were many Israelis who believed in teaching tolerance and many Western Jews who believed in self-defense, but for the most part the responses were structural. And yet the divide between Nationalists and Universalists also predated the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a transformative event, but only to a degree, the responses to it came out of earlier debates that had been going on for two generations. Before the Holocaust, the Czarist pogroms had led to the same fork in the road between a collective struggle for a better world and national self-defense. The current debates about Israel revisit an old argument that has been going on for well over a century. To the Nationalists, the Holocaust was not an unexpected event. Nationalist leaders like Jabotinsky had warned repeatedly that it was coming. To the Universalists however, it was an inexplicable event because it challenged the entire progressive understanding of history as a march to enlightenment. Violent bigotry was a symptom of reactionary backward thinking, not something that modern countries would engage in. There might be anti-semitism in Berlin, but there wouldn't be mass murder. That was for places like Czarist Russia, but not for the enlightened Soviet Russia or Weimar Germany. The Universalists seemed to have a point. The Beilis blood libel case had been treated as a medieval freak show by Western newspapers. Czarist pogroms received widespread coverage and condemnation. Some on the Russian left, Jewish socialists among them, justified and even excused the atrocities, but they were a minority. And when the Daily Worker, the organ of the Communist Party in New York, praised the Hebron Massacre, it resulted in a news vendor boycott that banished it from the shelves.

One Nation Under Debt With Endless Debt Slavery For All Apr 22, 2012 04:53 pm
"...Since Barack Obama took office, the U.S. national debt has increased·by more than 5 trillion dollars, and it is rising at a rate of about·150 million dollars an hour...." Debt is a "soft" form of slavery. In America today, it is not legal to bind people up with chains and force them to work for you, but that doesn't mean that there are not millions upon millions of slaves in this country. When you borrow money, you willingly become a servant to the lender. Sadly, there are millions of Americans that will spend the rest of their lives working to pay off their debts but they will never escape the endless debt slavery that they have gotten themselves into.

Earth Day... Pagan Worship Of The Earth and Marxism Apr 22, 2012 01:44 pm
Lenin's World-Wide Celebration Of Socialism! The annual, global, orgasmic, daisy chain of paganism is complete for another year. I refer, of course to -- Earth Day.
Quite likely the oldest religion of all, Paganism has been on display throughout this week just ending -- even in the religious communities supposedly dedicated to the worship of the "one true God." Earth Day, itself, is rooted deeply in godless socialism. Vladimir Lenin is the Father/Founder of Earth Day! Why, then, will millions of Christians celebrate it in their churches this Sunday?
Jihad: The Law of War Apr 22, 2012 09:10 am
The following essay was originally planned to discuss war under the law of Islam. With four schools of Sunni Islamic law, and then another four Shiite schools of law, it is a very complex topic. An entire book could be written about it. I don't pretend to be a scholar on this subject, but it is still important to discuss, in summary, the motivation for Islamic war against the infidel.

If even some of this is true Obama is so much more dangerous than we thought

By George Spelvin, staff writer
Years of living dangerously off of the U.S. taxpayers' dime have certainly served the Obama-Dunham family well according to investigative journalist Wayne Madsen. Nevertheless, the downside for America is the Islamazation of Africa and Asia in a remarkable example of unintended consequences of foreign entanglements gone bad- very bad, indeed.
A Wayne Madsen 32 page pdf file is opening up a Pandora's Box of American foreign aid money dispensed wildly and broadly overseas. The reporter cites American dollars intended to buy starving villagers rice actually going to finance foreign military weapons purchases for various wars, conflicts, and insurgencies. Our tax dollars earned through the hard work and sweat equity have not been used to our benefit but rather to further the Islamazation of these continents which is now almost complete.
The very aims and actions of politicians, faceless bureaucrats, foreign service operatives both covertly and not covertly have come ... Continue Reading:If even some of this is true Obama is so much more dangerous than we thought

A gunshot at high noon on APRIL 22, 1889, began the famous Oklahoma land rush. Within 9 hours some two million acres became the private property of settlers who staked their claims. Riding as fast as they could, many found desirable plots already taken by "Sooners," individuals who entered the territory sooner than was permitted. The remaining land was assigned to dozens of Indian tribes who had been forcibly removed by the Federal Government from Eastern and Southern States. These tribes included the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, Seminole, and Cherokee, who had survived the horrible "Trail of Tears" march from Georgia during the freezing winter of 1838-1839, a tragedy which passed Congress by a single vote. President Ronald Reagan commemorated the thousands who died by designating the Trail of Tears as a National Historic Trail in 1987. Oklahoma, which is the Choctaw word for "red people," became the 46th State to ... Continue Reading:American Minute April 22

George Zimmerman railroaded by Democrats and Republicans alike
Apr 22, 2012 01:00 pm | Coach Collins
by Doug Book, staff writer
Barack Obama's "hate Whitey 'cause he's white" campaign of 2012 was to be based on the same dogma of class envy which had oozed from Democrat media and race hustling circles for decades. But worn out race baiting ploys were not going to guarantee the massive, black voter turn out the Manchurian Candidate would need in November. For the novelty of being the first black nominee and president was gone and finally, along with it, the decades-long effects of racial guilt implanted into the psyche of whites across the nation. Even with the 24/7 efforts of a dependably supportive media, Obama would have a difficult time generating the legal turnout necessary to remain in power.
Even more troublesome, without significant events to redirect the attention of voters, Obama would be forced to embrace a record of trillions in additional debt, high unemployment and ever-increasing prices for gas, food and virtually every ... This introduction to recognizing and dealing with taqiyya is based on a work written by Andrew Campbell and a video by TruthDesigner. Muslims have well-developed and formally taught methods of deception that they use to advance Islam over non-Muslims, and our only defense is to be ready for them.
The easiest way to understand Taqiyya tactics is to think of the most evil kids you knew as a child - the ones who had a talent for provoking you and then looking like angels when an adult walked in the room so that you got all the blame. Now imagine that child as an adult, not reformed by the normal Western maturation process, but instead the product of years of practice in deception.
While the best general way to deal with any Taqiyya tactic is always information superiority, each tactic has its own unique characteristics. This is a basic list of Taqiyya tactics and how to handle them:
- "Outwit" the Opponent: Often enacted during times of debate. The Muslim attempts to look like he's outwitting the opponent through Taqiyya by creating a diversion and bringing up irrelevant information that has nothing to do with the topic discussed, but speaking so extensively and dominatingly that the audience may believe the Muslim is correct -- even though they have no idea what he's talking about. If the Muslim accomplishes nothing else via this tactic, he will have hogged all of the airtime and brought up more issues than you could possibly respond to.
Methods for dealing with this tactic: (1) If this is a formal debate, establish and enforce ground rules that guarantee all debaters equal speaking time. (2) Call out the Muslim for using this tactic, and then describe the tactic to deflate its power over the audience. - Play the Victim: Muslims insistently cry that they are minorities, that they are being singled out, and that they are victims of racism and religious discrimination. Ironically, the louder and more aggressively they make these claims, the better this tactic works on many Westerners because, again, well-meaning Westerners become confused and emotionalized by the anger they see and assume that the offended stance of the Muslims must be justified. By provoking an emotionally sympathetic response from the Westerners, the Muslims make it psychologically impossible for the Westerners to conduct an objective investigation into whatever provoked the Muslim claim of victimhood.
Methods for dealing with this tactic: (1) Call attention to the fact that a group of people with 1.5 billion members can hardly claim to be a persecuted minority. (2) Bring up the persecution of non-Muslims by Muslims in the Islamic world. (3) Call attention to the fact that Muslims are not a race but a group of people who follow a religious system that systematically persecutes non-Muslims and women. - Create false evidence of Muslim persecution by non-Muslims: There are a wide variety of ways to falsify evidence, including but not limited to: (1) Store weapons in or launch rockets from schools, hospitals, mosques, and residential areas so that any retaliatory attack can be portrayed as an attack on a civilian target. (2) Stage and record fake atrocities. (3) Photoshop images of victims. (4) Injure oneself and claim to have been attacked. (5) Start or perpetuate rumors, such as the Jewish blood libel or claiming that a Christian raped a Muslim girl.
Method for dealing with this tactic: (1) Remain objective and skeptically inquisitive so as not to get caught up in the emotions that the false evidence is intended to create. Never take an assertion at face value. - Make false claims of torture: The Al Qaeda training manual contains precise instructions to terrorists on how to make false allegations of torture, including self-injury in order to insist that one was tortured.
Method for dealing with this tactic: (1) Remain objective and skeptically inquisitive. Remember that Muslims are capable engaging in torture without any sense of wrongdoing, so they are simply attempting to manipulate your sense of right and wrong, even though they do not share it. - Manipulate ambiguity: Muslims often use words that mean one thing to Westerners but something very different to Muslims in order to mislead Westerners. Some examples: (1) While we may all be in favor of "Justice," Muslims interpret "Justice" to mean "compliance with Sharia law." (2) While the Constitution protects freedom of religion, Muslims interpret this as meaning that the Constitution should condone Sharia law because it is through Sharia law that Muslims practice their religion. (3) Muslims condemned the death of innocents in the 9-11 attack, but they don't mention to non-Muslims that the term "innocent" has a specific meaning to Muslims, and that only Muslims and non-Muslim children younger than the "age of discretion" are considered innocents. (4) Muslims often tell Christians that they also revere Jesus and look forward to his return, what they don't tell the Christian is that they believe that Jesus will return to destroy Christianity and send all Christians to Hell (for worshipping him instead of Allah).
Method for dealing with this tactic: Always be on guard for double meanings, particularly if a Muslim starts speaking in noticeably parsed language. This is often an indication that the Muslim is carefully choosing his words so that they sound acceptable to you while remaining faithful to Islam. Ultimately Islamic double-entendres have to be learned by experience, but here's a starter set: - Justice = Islamic Justice, not the justice you're familiar with.
- Religion = Islam, because no other religion is legitimately worthy of the name.
- Law = Sharia, that is, Islamic Law. No other law is legitimate.
- Religious toleration = The tolerance extended to Christianity and Judaism (purists will tolerate no others), as long as Christians and Jews acknowledge the superiority of Islam and pay special taxes, give up the right to bear arms, and accept that they are unable to testify in a court of law against a Muslim.
- Paradise = A place that only Muslims can look forward to.
- The second coming of Jesus = The time when Jesus will return and force all remaining Christians and Jews to convert to Islam.
- Judgement Day = A time when Jesus will denounce all Christians and send them to Hell.
- Suicide = Killing oneself when not waging Jihad. That is, suicide bombers are not considered suicides.
This last case shows how Muslims are able to capitalize on ambiguities that are almost impossible to detect. In this case a Muslim can often side-track a Westerner who asks about suicide bombers by responding, "Islam forbids suicide." Little does the Westerner know that the Muslim has subtly changed the subject, because suicide bombers are not suicides according to Islam.
- Cry harassment: This form of taqiyya can range from accusing law enforcement of ignoring Islamic customs, such as interviewing a woman without another woman present, to complaining that non-Muslims and the press are harassing Muslims by slandering Islam. Most importantly, crying harassment is a good way to turn a crowd against a person who asks too many questions when trying to clarify the ambiguities such as those mentioned above.
Methods for dealing with this tactic: (1) Ignore it. The minute you start trying to avoid Muslim cries of harassment you put the Muslim in control of your behavior. Sharia has rules for nearly all aspects of life; therefore acceding to one set of demands will only lead to more demands, and you, as a non-Muslim, won't even know whether the demands are genuine or invented. (2) Avoid engaging in anything that could be called harassment when in a public setting where such claims could be interpreted as true by a crowd. (3) If in a public setting, explain to the public why your questioning is important and the ambiguities that need to be clarified - before getting very far into the inquiry. - Post-Arrest Islamic Disorder: Terrorists in legal proceedings have come up with a variation of the "victim of torture" tactic. The most common claims are heart attack, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder due to interrogation or incarceration by authorities.
Methods for dealing with this tactic: (1) Use monitor cameras, medical inspections, etc. (2) Explain to the public how "Post-Arrest Islamic Disorder" is often used. - Blame the Enemy: When one questions a Muslim about terrorist activities around the world, the response is often to switch the conversation to the plight of the Palestinians, combined with blaming US foreign policy as the root cause of terrorism, which quickly leads to a denunciation of American support for Israel.
Method for dealing with this tactic: Recognize that (1) This line of reasoning is invalid because it can be used to excuse any terrorist act anywhere in the world, at any time. (2) Because of this, it is simply a pretext for violence and is not actually connected to the violent act in any rational sense. For example, how could rocket attacks at thousands of innocent civilians be justified by the imprisonment of Palestinian terrorists by Israel? - Evade and confuse: When asked awkward questions about Islam, Islamists will provide "yes and no" answers, redirect the conversation, engage in lengthy monologues and refuse to stop talking, or simply start speaking in Arabic to completely throw off the questioner. For example, when Sayyid Muhammad Husayn Fadlallah was asked whether he was the spiritual leader to Hezbollah, he replied, "I am all of these and none of them at the same time." This method is very effective on Westerners because they'll presume that what is being said must somehow make sense in a way they don't understand.
Method for dealing with this tactic: Before any formal discussion begins, set the parameters for the discussion: (1) Speakers are to stay on-topic, (2) Speakers are to speak within time limits, (3) Speakers are to speak in English only. (4) Rebuttals are allowed. If the Muslim violates the rules, issue a warning, and if not heeded declare that the Muslim is not adhering to the rules and end the discussion. - Demand "evidence": If a Muslim accused of terroristic conspiracy wants to gain public sympathy, he or other Muslims will claim that there's no evidence -- without mentioning that this is according to an invented and impossibly high standard. Notice how, in the process, this tactic changes the focus of conversation from the crime to the evidence. With regard to blatantly ugly statements in the Koran or hadiths, a Muslim will often simply claim that the non-Muslim questioner is ignorant and has misinterpreted the text, or they have cherry-picked it, or they have misquoted it or have a bad translation.
Method for dealing with this tactic: Don't be intimidated into accepting Muslim claims at face value. Find out exactly what they mean and decide for yourself whether there is any merit to the claim. Also, understand the issues well enough yourself so that you never have to concede a point due to your own ignorance. - Denial: When directly confronted by ugly quotes from the Koran that are right in front of them, Muslims will often resort to lashing out and calling you a "liar."
Method for dealing with this tactic: Again, don't be intimidated into accepting Muslim claims at face value, especially in a public discussion. Drill into their claim and demonstrate that your interpretation is indeed true. - Exploit cognitive dissonance: Mass brainwashing that "Islam is a religion of peace" induces a state of cognitive dissonance in the wake of terrorist attacks. As a result Westerners tend to want dialogue with Muslims, in the belief that this will somehow promote tolerance as non-Muslims learn to understand Muslims better. This sets the stage for presentations where Muslims lecture non-Muslims about the virtues of Islam and thereby indoctrinate them. An example of what comes next is the case of Catholic Bishop Muskens of the Netherlands, who suggested that the Church start calling God "Allah" in order to promote tolerance and placate Muslims. Apparently he didn't notice that the West was not the one being intolerant.
Method for dealing with this tactic: Never assume the best about Islam. Do your own research. Expect propaganda from Muslims. Remember that expecting the truth about Islam from a Muslim is like expecting the truth about Communism from a member of the Communist Party. - Claim that Islam's been hijacked by a few extremists: In this form of Taqiyya, Muslims claim that terrorism is "un-Islamic" and "contrary to the teachings of Islam," even though anyone who's bothered to read Islamic unholy scriptures would know that this is untrue. Muslim terrorists consistently express great religious devotion, particularly by shouting Allahu Akbar while committing their terrorist acts.
Methods for dealing with this tactic: (1) Do your own research on Islam rather than taking a Muslim's word on anything. (2) Find out what the terrorist had been saying with regard to Islam. For example, Osama bin Laden peppered his interviews and speeches with quotes from the Koran and hadiths. Ask the Muslim who claims that terrorism is "un-Islamic" to explain why the terrorist's usage of the Koran and Hadiths are not valid. - Ad hominem attacks: When a Muslim realizes that he cannot deceive his way out of an argument, he frequently resort to insults and even death threats. While such tactics demonstrate that the allegations against Islam are true, onlookers will still often turn against the questioner because he or she made the Muslim upset.
Method for dealing with this tactic: Call attention to the fact that resorting to name-calling and threats is an admission by the Muslim that he lost the argument.

More of the fallout and consequences of Obama's giant policy failures in the Middle East and beyond. The gas supply deal had been an important part of the Israeli/Egypt peace accord. Another nail in the coffin of peace, freedom, and the age of American hegemony.
As Obama's crushing failures mount on a daily basis, expect the enemedia to hunker down and produce Goebbels-style agitprop and pro-statist propaganda at a dizzying pace.
Egypt scraps Israel gas supply deal
Egyptian officials say they have scrapped an agreement to supply Israel with natural gas. Israel received around 40% of its gas supplies from Egypt and uses it to generate electricity. The announcement comes after the cross-border pipeline suffered numerous sabotage attacks which cut supplies. Egypt was the first Middle East country to sign a peace accord with Israel, and the energy deal has been a key part of agreements between the two state. A statement from the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company said it was ending supplies because the terms of its contract had been breached.

Are President's Holocaust Remarks More Hollow Words on "Never Again"?
Past inaction on humanitarian issues raises doubts about new initiatives
Washington, D.C. (April 23, 2012) -- The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) responded to President Obama's remarks at the U.S. Holocaust Museum today. RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said:
For President Obama to come forward today with what he calls "a comprehensive strategy and new tools to prevent and respond to atrocities" raises the question of why such a strategy was not brought forward much earlier in his term rather than now, nearly four years after he took office.
While we are always appreciative when a President dedicates time to discussing the challenge of living up to the promise of "Never Again," when the speech comes just four days after Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, the presidential attention is all the more welcome.
Regrettably, however, this President's record and focus on vital humanitarian concerns over the course of more than three years in office has been lacking. For example, in June 2009, opposition forces in Iran were brutally repressed, the election was stolen, and civilians were murdered in the streets of Tehran and tortured in prisons, and all the while the Obama administration did nothing.
The President is a gifted orator, but as he himself noted, words without corresponding actions are hollow. Sadly, with this President, the official rhetoric is often at odds with official actions.

"[A] good moral character is the first essential in a man, and that the habits contracted at your age are generally indelible, and your conduct here may stamp your character through life. It is therefore highly important that you should endeavor not only to be learned but virtuous." --George Washington
Faith & Family
Chuck Colson, 1931-2012
"Evangelical Christianity lost one of its most eloquent and influential voices [Saturday] with the death of Charles W. 'Chuck' Colson. The Prison Fellowship and Colson Center for Christian Worldview founder died at 3:12 p.m. on Saturday from complications resulting from a brain hemorrhage. Colson was 80. A Watergate figure who emerged from the country's worst political scandal, a vocal Christian leader and a champion for prison ministry, Colson spent the last years of his life in the dual role of leading Prison Fellowship, the world's largest outreach to prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families, and the Colson Center, a teaching and training center focused on Christian worldview thought and application. Colson was speaking at a Colson Center conference when he was overcome by dizziness. ... At times, Chuck showed encouraging indicators of a possible recovery, but his health took a decided turn, and he went to be with the Lord. ... Colson maintained that the greatest joy in life for him was to see those 'living monuments' to God's grace: Prisoners transformed by the love of Jesus Christ. And thanks to the work of Colson and Prison Fellowship volunteers across the country, there are thousands of those living monuments among us today." --ChuckColson.org
Editor's Note: We at The Patriot Post are grateful to Chuck Colson for his support over the years. He offered a significant vote of confidence as one of our earliest endorsers. We will keep his family in our prayers and would add, well done, good and faithful servant.
Leave a note of gratitude for Mr. Colson's work.
Government
"I don't know how many times I've seen liberal commentators look back with nostalgia to the days when a young man fresh out of high school or military service could get a well-paying job on an assembly line at a unionized auto factory that could carry him through to a comfortable retirement. As it happens, I grew up in Detroit and for a time lived next door to factory workers. And I know something that has eluded the liberal nostalgiacs. Which is that people hated those jobs. ... The liberal nostalgiacs would like to see an economy that gives low-skill high school graduates similar opportunities. That's what Barack Obama seems to be envisioning when he talks about hundreds of thousands of 'green jobs.' But those 'green jobs' have not come into existence despite massive government subsidies and crony capitalism. ... Today's young people can't expect to join large organizations and in effect ride escalators for the rest of their careers. The new companies emerging as winners in high tech -- think Apple or Google -- just don't employ that many people, at least in the United States. Similarly, today's manufacturing firms produce about as large a share of the gross national product as they used to with a much smaller percentage of the labor force. ... What we can be sure of is that creating your own career will produce a stronger sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. Young people who do so won't hate their work the way those autoworkers hated those assembly line jobs." --columnist Michael Barone
For the Record
"Between 1787 and 1930, our nation suffered both mild and severe economic downturns. There was no intervention to stimulate the economy, but the economy always recovered. During the 1930s, there were massive interventions, starting with President Herbert Hoover and later with President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Their actions turned what would have been a sharp three- or four-year economic downturn into a 10-year affair. In 1930, when Hoover began to 'fix' the economy, unemployment was 6 percent. FDR did even more to 'fix' the economy. As a result, unemployment remained in double digits throughout the decade and reached 20 percent in 1939. President Roosevelt blamed the high unemployment on his predecessor. ... Americans have been miseducated into thinking that Roosevelt's New Deal saved our economy. That miseducation extends to most academics, including economists, at our universities, who are arrogant enough to believe that it's possible for a few people in Washington to have the information and knowledge necessary to manage the economic lives of 313 million people." --economist Walter E. Williams
Culture
"Some Americans are old enough to remember when going on the dole was something one did only when every other option became untenable. And even then, a certain degree of lingering shame accompanied that choice, along with an equal amount of determination to change course and return to being productive as quickly as possible. How quaint such ideas must seem to current generations of Americans, many of whom have been steeped in the idea that someone owes them something -- for nothing, no less. ... It is remarkable how many Americans have become thoroughly convinced that there are more than enough workers -- who will go on working no matter how onerous it becomes, no less -- to underwrite all of the slackers, and ever-growing number of fence-sitters moving to their side of the ledger. It is far less remarkable that we have a president who would exploit such selfishness and ignorance by taking an American virtue ... and turn it into a vice, which is what Mr. Obama is doing when [he] labels the alternative to his socialist/Marxist vision as an 'on your own' society. This is nothing less than a full-frontal assault on our national character. Or what used to be our national character until progressives convinced substantial numbers of Americans that success is something that should elicit feelings of envy, rather than admiration and a sense of aspiration." --columnist Arnold Ahlert
Insight
"There is all the difference in the world between treating people equally and attempting to make them equal. While the first is the condition of a free society, the second means as De Tocqueville describes it, 'a new form of servitude.'" --economist Friedrich August von Hayek (1899-1992)
Re: The Left
"'I saw many signs in this campaign,' said Richard Nixon the day after he was elected president in 1968. 'But the one that touched me the most was one that I saw in Deshler, Ohio, at the end of a long day of whistle-stopping.... A teenager held up a sign, "Bring Us Together." And that will be the great objective of this administration at the outset: to bring the American people together.' ... The desire to see an incoming president as a unifier, a healer of the national breach, is an old American tradition, especially in times of acrimony and political conflict. But Nixon, needless to say, didn't heal the breach. ... Time and again, Obama promised what Nixon promised: to bring Americans together. That pledge ... went to the essence of his candidacy. And on the night of his election, before a vast crowd in Chicago's Grant Park, he underscored it: 'Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long.' Yet far from resisting that temptation, Obama has rarely bypassed any chance to indulge it. The would-be uniter whips up envy and resentment, demonizing those who disagree with him, and aggravating the nation's racial, class, and party tensions." --columnist Jeff Jacoby
Political Futures
"In an ironic reversal of the emphases of Madison's Federalist Paper #10, in which that great thinker carefully outlined the dangers of factionalism and pressed for the need for stability of the Republic of the United States, Obama and his supporters are seeking to achieve electoral hegemony by playing to minorities and supporting factionalism. Anger, rather than hope, is to be the glue which keeps the disparate minorities together. In turn, the rage of minorities against fellow Americans is to be the president's means to re-election. The result, should Obama be re-elected, will be a new class order characterized by the tyranny of minority rule. ... In contrast to the current administration's and race warfare-mongers' agenda of anger expressed in class and ethnic warfare, conservatives of every stripe must offer not only blunt analyses of what this administration is up to, but also a plan of real hope -- not hype." --columnist Fay Voshell
Opinion in Brief
"In the summer of 2001, a little boy in Mississippi lost an arm in a shark attack. The media went absolutely crazy. For weeks and months they highlighted every shark attack on the evening news. They ran aerial footage of sharks in the water near beaches. They coined the term 'Summer of the Shark.' ... Bombarded by such coverage, most Americans responded to polls by saying they were concerned about the uptick in shark attacks. In fact, there were actually about 10% fewer shark attacks in 2001 than in 2000. Our perceptions were severely biased by the coverage. Similarly, every bit of severe weather now makes the news, so the American public can be forgiven for thinking that maybe such weather is increasing. ... Sure we had some 100-year high temperatures in the US in March. But in the same month the rest of the world was at or below its average temperature for the last couple of decades. The reality is that the US makes up about 2% of the global surface area so that on average, an area the size of the US somewhere in the world should be having such a 100-year high month six times a year. For these reasons, and others, it is really, really hard to detect shifts in the mean of a data set like climate outcomes from just a few samples." --Forbes contributor Warren Meyer
The Gipper
"The gun has been called the great equalizer, meaning that a small person with a gun is equal to a large person, but it is a great equalizer in another way, too. It insures that the people are the equal of their government whenever that government forgets that it is servant and not master of the governed. When the British forgot that they got a revolution. And, as a result, we Americans got a Constitution; a Constitution that, as those who wrote it were determined, would keep men free. If we give up part of that Constitution we give up part of our freedom and increase the chance that we will lose it all." --Ronald Reagan

"Thanks so much for Mark Alexander's outstanding essay on Patriots' Day. We are already at war for our nation and our citizens -- may God support and protect us! I hope we never have to endure what our forefathers endured to protect our freedoms, but if need be, our generation will do what's necessary for ourselves and our posterity! We must forever live Virginia's motto, 'Sic Semper Tyrannis!'" --Grandson of Liberty
"I just finished sending another donation to support The Patriot Post team and wanted to send a personal thanks to all of you as well. I happened upon your publication shortly after finishing college and have been a loyal consumer ever since. I've always held on to conservative beliefs but back then I did not necessarily understand how precious America really is. As I've grown over the years and digested your analysis, I've come to realize that it's not only important for me to understand but for the generations behind me -- a battle that quite frankly is not going well due to the insidious nature of our own educational system. That is why I give. Without The Patriot Post, I fear truth would be lost. It is important for us to remember that many of the original patriots either died for the cause or lost all personal comforts in the process. Simply donating seems so trivial! But it's still something that I can do until the day comes that more is required. And I do it joyfully knowing courageous people like you are using these funds to shine the light of truth into the ever darkening sky of tyranny." --Young Patriot

As for Harry Reid's suggestion that seniors like junk mail, readers gave him a resounding "yeah, right!" Some also had colorful suggestions for what he could do with that junk mail.
The Last Word
"If the economy continues to recover, President Obama will claim he caused that. It wouldn't be the first time a 'leader' ran in front of a crowd and claimed to have led the way. But politicians don't deserve credit for what free people do. ... One of the most important questions in politics should be: 'Would the private sector have done better things with that money?' A healthy economy does not just create jobs of any kind, it creates productive jobs. The pharaohs of ancient Egypt created plenty of jobs building pyramids, but who knows how much better the lives of ancient Egyptians (especially the slaves) might have been had they been free to engage in other work? They would all have had better housing, more food or snazzier headdresses. Even as smart a person as economist John Maynard Keynes seemed to forget about that when he wrote in his 'General Theory' back in 1936, 'Pyramid-building, earthquakes, even wars may serve to increase wealth.' By that logic, government could create full employment tomorrow by outlawing machines. Think of all the work there'd be to do then!" --columnist John Stossel

Monday, April 23, 2012 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 197 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS Manipulating Medicare Barack Obama just got busted trying to manipulate Medicare for political purposes. Here is what's going on. Beginning in 2013, ObamaCare eliminates Medicare Advantage -- a popular program that 12 million seniors rely on. But in order for Medicare Advantage to be eliminated next year, seniors would have to register for a new program this year -- about a month before the election. Desperate to avoid having millions of seniors ticked off weeks before the election, the political hacks in the Obama Administration found a way to postpone the phase out of Medicare Advantage. Federal law allows the Department of Health and Human Services to spend money on "demonstration projects" without congressional approval so long as it is conducting a legitimate study intended to improve the effectiveness and quality of various health care programs. It turns out that HHS has set aside $8 billion in "bonuses" for Medicare Advantage. Republicans have long complained that this spending has only one purpose -- to delay the demise of Medicare Advantage until 2014, but the media and the White House have ignored their complaints. A report from the non-partisan Government Accountability Office strongly suggests the GOP complaints are valid. The Associated Press reports that government auditors say the bonus program should be cancelled. Consider this excerpt:
"GAO, the investigative agency of Congress, did not address GOP allegations that the bonuses are politically motivated. But, its report found the program highly unusual. It 'dwarfs' all other Medicare pilots undertaken in nearly 20 years, the GAO said. Most of the bonus money is going to plans that receive three to three-and-half stars on Medicare's five-star rating scale, the report said. ... "But GAO questioned whether the bonus program will achieve its goal of finding better incentives to promote quality. 'The design of the demonstration precludes a credible evaluation of its effectiveness in achieving (the administration's) stated research goal.'"
Of course it precludes a credible evaluation of effectiveness! HHS isn't studying anything. Remember -- the Medicare Advantage program is scheduled to be eliminated. So why are taxpayers providing billions of dollars in "bonuses" for average performance? As the AP notes: "Available through 2014, the bonuses will soften much of the initial impact of the Medicare Advantage cuts, acting like a temporary reprieve. This year, for example, the bonus program offset more than two-thirds of the cuts in the health care law." Republicans should conduct a thorough investigation of this program and do everything they can -- even though the media will ignore much of it -- to expose this abuse of power. This is just one more example of the corruption of this administration. Obama's willingness to bend the rules and waste your hard-earned money for political purposes knows no limits. And it is another example of why conservatives are right to resist Obama's siren song of higher taxes, even on "millionaires and billionaires." The problem in Washington is not a lack of revenue. It is too much spending! CBS Focuses On Christian Persecution The persecution of Christians throughout the Middle East is a matter of grave concern for men and women of faith in America. It is a subject I have repeatedly written about, and my oldest daughter works on the issue in Congress for Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA). Like many, I have been frustrated by the lack of attention the mainstream media devotes to this issue. So I was particularly interested to see how CBS would cover the subject on its "60 Minutes" program last night. Sadly, the show was another example of the make believe world our media elites live in. If you were to poll Americans and ask them what is the major threat confronting Christians in the Middle East, the virtually unanimous response would be "Islamic extremism." After all, churches are routinely attacked by Muslim militants in Nigeria and Iraq. Politicians and clerics are debating whether to demolish churches in Kuwait. The Arab Spring has turned into a Christian Winter in Egypt. Bibles are banned in many Muslim nations. Pastors face death sentences in Iran. But the folks at "60 Minutes" evidently see the issue very differently. I don't recall the last time I read about a church bombing in Israel carried out by radical Jews, but last night's "60 Minutes" episode on the plight of Christians in the Holy Land was an outrageous attack on Israel designed to undermine Christian support for the Jewish state here in America. And it is a tactic that is gaining popularity among the left -- especially among so-called "mainline" Protestant denominations. Christians United for Israel is fighting back. Click here to sign a petition denouncing the biased and misguided reporting in last night's "60 Minutes" episode. I hope the next time CBS tries to cast an eye on Christian persecution in the Middle East, it will focus on the real problem -- radical Islam. The Distractor-In-Chief A number of conservative pundits have observed that the Obamas are everywhere lately. You can't even tune into a major sporting event without it being interrupted for a gratuitous interview with Barack or Michelle Obama. In fact, this First Lady is anything but camera shy. In George W. Bush's first term, Laura Bush appeared on 12 TV shows. Michelle Obama has already been on 44 shows! I have also noticed that Obama has a unique capacity to draw the media's attention away from the serious and significant and toward the trivial and tedious -- which is exactly what he will need to do to win a second term. You can read more in my weekly Human Events column. Goodbye, Chuck As I am sure you have heard by now, my good friend Chuck Colson, a former Nixon aid and founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries, passed away this weekend. Chuck was a dear friend, and I will miss him greatly. He was living proof of the transformative power of Jesus Christ. Chuck went from the highest levels of government power in the Nixon White House to the tragedy of a jail cell. There he gave himself fully to Christ, found his true calling and emerged a new man. He was one of the greatest Christian apologists of our time, an intellectual giant dedicated to the sanctity of life, traditional marriage and religious liberty. His commitment to God and country was second to none. Carol and I offer our sincere condolences to Chuck's wife, Patty, and the rest of the Colson family. They can take comfort in the certainty that Chuck Colson has been welcomed home to the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."

One of the world's leading environmentalists, James Hansen, calls for a tax on carbon emissions. The revenues would come mostly from high earners and businesses, and would be "deposited monthly," as dividends, into the bank accounts of low earners with smaller "carbon footprints." "Fitzpatrick Provides Tax Relief to Pennsylvania Small Businesses"
I provided real tax relief to Pennsylvania small businesses this week with my vote for H.R. 9, the Small Business Tax Cut Act of 2012.
Small business is what drives our economy here in Pennsylvania. Over the last 17 years, businesses with less than 500 employees have created 65% of the new jobs in the United States. This legislation will allow these business men and women to retain more capital, invest in their business and create jobs. As the Administration continues to divide Americans with gimmicks and grandstanding, legislation like this puts money back into the hands of employers to hire people.
Under the new rules created by H.R. 9, small businesses which employ less than 500 people would be allowed to deduct 20% of their income from taxes irrespective of how they are organized. This means that both small businesses organized as corporations and the 75% of small businesses which operate as a pass-through will benefit from this new deduction.
The non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation has estimated that H.R. 9 will benefit over 22 million small-business employers across the United States by reducing their taxes by almost $46 billion, leaving more capital for those businesses to apply to expansion and hiring.
Here are a few facts about small business in Pennsylvania:
- As of 2009, there are 228,800 small businesses with between 1 and 500 employees employing 2,445,200 individuals
- Over 388,000 employees in healthcare and social assistance
- Over 277,000 employees in manufacturing
- Over 259,000 employees in accommodation and food services
- 30,076 are women-owned businesses which employ 251, 622 individuals
- In 2009, PA was home to 661,430 sole-proprietorships, many of which will benefit from H.R. 9
Walk MS 2012

On Sunday, I participated in the 2012 Walk MS event hosted by the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. I was proud to be among the countless members of our community who gathered at Tyler State Park in Northampton Township.
Currently, there are 19,000 people living with MS in the state of PA, and we all hope that a cure is forthcoming. In the meantime, I will continue to walk with those affected and their family and friends to raise awareness, money, and spirits.
Earth Day 2012
"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." ~Native American Proverb.
Earth Day was on Sunday April 22 this year, and I wanted to use this occasion to thank the Defenders of Wildlife and other national environmental organizations for working with me on conservation issues. The Endangered Species Act has been instrumental in restoring such iconic wildlife as the bald eagle. I look forward to continuing our joint efforts.
I am proud of my record on important environmental issues, including my legislation to save the Endangered Species Act. Some of my other environmental legislative priorities include:
- Speaking out forcefully for conservation programs, including leading the effort to protect funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), the Highlands Conservation fund, and National Heritage Areas, co-sponsoring a bill to enable landowners to donate their land for conservation purposes (H.R. 1259), and voting in favor of providing farmers with the resources they need to comply with EPA land conservation standards.
- Co-sponsoring H.R. 1916, the America's Red Rock Wilderness Act, which would protect over nine million acres of beautiful red rock wilderness lands in Utah by designating them as part of the National Wilderness Preservation System.
- Introducing an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2012 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill, along with the Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Norm Dicks (D-WA), which stripped an anti-Endangered Species Act rider from the bill and preserved the integrity of the ESA. This amendment passed the House of Representatives with bipartisan support on July 27 by a vote of 224-204.
- Opposing an attempt to roll back the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) ability to enforce regulations to improve water quality (H.R. 2018). Furthermore, I am a co-sponsor of the Clean Water Protection Act (H.R. 1375) to eradicate the dumping of toxic mountaintop removal coal mine "fill material" into streams, and voted in favor of additional measures designed to protect our drinking water from exposure to these toxins (amendments to H.R. 1, H.R. 2018). In 2011, I broke with many in the GOP and supported tougher, updated standards for offshore oil and gas drilling to ensure protection of our oceans and marine wildlife (amendments to H.R. 1229, 1230, and 1231).

Amnesty Supporter Rubio is hiding behind voice mail: New Numbers for you to use
Apparently Senator Marco Rubio is not using the millions of dollars of our tax money he receives each year for offices and staff to empty his DC voice mail on a Monday morning! Please adjust your activism calls and bombard his Florida offices with thousands of calls. Call each one of them individually. We want word to reach Marco Rubio as he stumps with Romney today that Americans from all states are calling to demand he end his support for Dream Act Amnesty for illegal aliens! Call Rubio's offices with your own version of our sample messages. "I'm calling to tell Senator Rubio that I am one of the vast majority of Americans who oppose his illegal alien Dream Act Amnesty plans." or "I'm calling/writing to tell Senator Rubio that I oppose his illegal alien Amnesty plans and that I will work to make sure that his political career is ended. Accurate polls show that Americans oppose Dream Act Amnesty concepts 2 to 1 (Rasmussen Polling Oct 2007) and Senator Rubio has made a big career mistake trying to become the next John McCain and Lindsay Graham with illegal immigration issues. Dream Act Amnesty for illegal aliens will only encourage more illegal aliens and the courts will eventually allow Marco Rubio's illegal aliens voting rights, which will steal political power from millions of innocent Americans. Rubio's Dream Act Amnesty bill will cost many Americans their votes, jobs, taxpayer resources, and very lives. We need immigration enforcement not Amnesty!" LIGHT UP THOSE PHONE LINES NOW USING THESE NUMBERS! Remember, calls are the most effective tool you have. Man left to drown in England because water 'too deep' for rescue crews That could be a reasonable excuse, if the water wasn't only 3 ft deep. Rescue crews were actually given an order to NOT jump in after the drowning man because he was 'probably' already dead and (this is real) the rescuers only had level 1 water rescue training. They needed level 2. While they pondered government regulations on rescue -- the man died. Glenn has more on the story HERE. Grilling season is around the corner!
