Twenty-Year Plan: Islam Targets America
by Dr. Anis Shorrosh
When we immigrated from Jerusalem, Jordan* in January, 1967, little did I imagine that Islam would become center-stage in world news. As my sincere interest in the growth of Islam in America intensified, I began to discuss, dialogue, and then debate Muslim leaders throughout the world from an Arab Christian's view of Islam.
So far, I have had the privilege of participating in over 20 debates and discussions on every continent plus T.V. and radio. "Islam Revealed" was released in 1988 and is now in its 8th printing. The True Furqan is now in its third printing in the three years it has been published. It is the only book which challenges the Quran in substance, style, language and contents.
This is my analysis of the Islamic invasion of America, the agenda of Islamists and visible methods to take over America by the year 2020! Will Americans continue to sleep through this invasion as they did when we were attacked on 9/11?
1. Terminate America's freedom of speech by replacing it with hate crime bills state-wide and nation-wide.
2. Wage a war of words using black leaders like Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Jesse Jackson and other visible religious personalities to promote Islam as the original African-American's religion while Christianity is for the whites! Strange enough, no one tells the African-Americans that it was the Arab Muslims who captured them and sold them as slaves, neither the fact that in Arabic the word for black and slave is the same, "Abed."

Andy Warhol predicted that in the future everyone would be world-famous for 15 minutes. What he neglected to mention was that they were just as likely to be infamous. Zimmerman had decorated his flyers and website with the famous quotation attributed to Edmund Burke, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is that good men do nothing." His activities reveal a man who took those words to heart, who put his time, money and safety on the line to become one of those good men who do something. But the problem was that Zimmerman had been reading Burke, when he should have been reading Kafka. "Someone must have slandered Josef K., for one morning, without having done anything wrong, he was arrested." That is the famous opening sentence to Kafka's novel, "The Trial", words that have far more to do with the way we live now. George Zimmerman is not on trial because he shot a black teenager during a scuffle. It's not the facts of the case that brought him here. It's his name. Had his last name been Pereira, none of this would have gone anywhere. And it's not the name alone, it's that in this time and place lynching him will help make the political fortunes of everyone from the man in the White House to his cheerful smiling prosecutor who is already counting her campaign cash and book deals. Zimmerman with his book of quotations from the great thinkers of history, a man who clearly believes in the old fashioned virtues, is particularly ill-equipped to understand what is being done to him and why. The quotation that he plastered on flyers while investigating the beating of a homeless black man and on his own website, is more apt than he realizes. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is indeed that good men do nothing, but as a corollary to it, those are exactly the sort of men that evil will go after. It does no good to read Burke quotations to a Kardashian society which makes its determinations not on truth or justice, but on its omnipresent need for entertainment. Trying to reason with it only makes it angrier. Talking about virtues and decency to people who have none either confuses them or infuriates those few who understand the concept in some distant way. We aspire to behave the way that George Zimmerman did, to contribute to our communities, to defy the conventional wisdom and speak out when we see wrongdoing. We believe that all that is needed for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing. And we are only a misstep away from being George Zimmerman, from doing the wrong thing, from intervening in the wrong fight, drawing the wrong cartoon or saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, a heartbeat away from appearing at the bar of the kangaroo court of stage managed public opinion. In our own way we are all George Zimmerman. We think that society should be moral and rational, and that people should do the right thing. But that's not what it is. It's an insane braying donkey's laugh as the thieves, large and small, rob the people blind and then muscle them into a lynch mob to go after some handy victim. It's George today, it will be someone else tomorrow. Maybe someone who even deserves it. But it won't be the people destroying the country, because they're the ones leading the mob. Read more:

Voter's Guide - Urgent information
April 12, 2012
Dear Patriots,
As a businessman, father and grandfather I believe that we have reached a historic crossroad where we have been forced to either fight for a serious change in direction or suffer the loss of what we currently hold dear. Unfortunately, most persons have been convinced that they should do very little or nothing at all.
I was recently at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference where a very stark revelation was made clear. A question was asked of the 700 plus people in the auditorium: "How many persons here believe that you have had it better than your parents?" I believe that everyone raised their hand. The speaker then asked "How many of you believe that your children will have it as good as you?" Every hand went down.
Personally, I believe along with many others that we are in very serious trouble. We are a very short distance from the rioting in the streets as we see in countries like Greece. Our politicians are not seriously addressing the problems. They continue to bribe the American public with money that is not theirs.
This overspending is not only dishonest and unethical; it is immoral and must be stopped if we have any real hope for our children and grandchildren.
Please take the time to review the voter's guide at the link provided. You will see that there is only one candidate for US Senate who we can really count on to stand firm against the establishment pressure for "spending as usual." The other candidates may be a help, but we do not know for certain how they will eventually vote on important issues and we honestly think they will compromise on many fronts.
Churches have every right to make this information available in bulk to the congregation and the general public. They are not allowed to tell persons who to vote for, but they can tell everyone that there is a voting guide available for the Primary Election and challenge people to do their part.
Please get involved by distributing this Voter's Guide to as many persons as possible, especially at the polls on April 24. Do not let this opportunity escape us.
Sincerely Yours,
David M. Nyce President/Pilgrim Tours

Free Market Feminism: Why Capitalism is GREAT for Women
When: Wednesday, April 18th; 7-9 PM
Where:
Temple University Student Center 200C
ENTRANCE to Student Center South is on 13th between Cecil B. Moore and Montgomery Aves.
Come out and join TUSIF in listening to Jennifer Stefano, Pennsylvania State Director of Americans for Prosperity, speak about why capitalism benefits women more than any other economic system. Women's Rights, at every level, are inextricably woven into the fabric of everything that makes America a strong nation, socially, in business, and politically. Join us to advance women in the moot climate of Obama anti American policies.
What is this event about? There's a war on women being waged and the leader is America's Commander in Chief. President Barack Obama's economic policies are harming women (and men and children too) and killing their prospects for a better life. Learn about how capitalism and the promotion of free markets, limited government and constitutional principles is the best way for women to advance economically and politically. Who is Jennifer Stefano? Jennifer Stefano is the state director of Americans for Prosperity Pennsylvania and a regular guest on Fox News and Fox Business News. She her articles and quotes on free markets, capitalism and limited government have appeared in the The New York Times, The Washington Post, Investors Business Daily and the International Herald Tribune as well as other national and local publications. Her work as a political activist was documented in the book, "Boiling Mad: Inside Tea Party America" by Pulitzer Prize winning New York Times Reporter Kate Zernike. What is Americans for Prosperity? Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is committed to educating citizens about economic policy and mobilizing those citizens as advocates in the public policy process. AFP is an organization of grassroots leaders who engage citizens in the name of limited government and free markets on the local, state, and federal levels. The grassroots activists of AFP advocate for public policies that champion the principles of entrepreneurship and fiscal and regulatory restraint. --

APRIL 24, 2012
Thank you Jeff and Brenda Ney for this fantastic explanation! For those of you who have asked how you can respond to people about the negative attack ads against Sam, this is information that my husband put together. I hope it helps you as you interact with people both before and on election day. 1. The pay raise vote was NOT unconstitutional. The vote was COMPLETELY within the law. This charge by Smith is a BALD FACE LIE!. The part that was unconstitutional was the action of the State House leadership AFTER the vote, when they tried to take the raise in the same year it was enacted. They also added in an increase in unvouchered expense reimbursement also to be taken in the same year. The State Constitution only allows an increase in benefits to take place after next election cycle, to allow voters the choice of removing those that would vote for an increase in benefits. With that being said, Sam was one of a handful of ethical legislators that fought to REPEAL the newly enacted law, and they were successful with, Ed Rendell signing the repeal on November 16, 2005. Bottom line SAM NEVER TOOK THE PAY RAISE OR ANY INCREASE IN PER DIEM EXPENSES! PERIOD! 2. The Pension issue. While Sam voted way back in 2001 to increase state pensions, he did so based on faulty, untruthful projection numbers given by Governor Ridge at the time. It as not MASSIVE. It totaled about 17%. He also apogized for his vote in many public forum owning up to his mistake. SEND THEM THIS LINK http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/regional/s_664066.html 3. 'Billed Taxpayers over $14,000 in 'personal expenses'. First of all, they are NOT personal expenses. The State House has a LAWFUL per diem reimbursement for expenses while conducting State business on State time. The lawmakers do not 'bill' the state for their expenses, they fill out an expense report like everyone does in business. Rohrer has been consistently in the bottom 5% for the use of these monies. A fact this hit piece fails to acknowledge. After numerous Google searches, I was unable to find the article referenced in the hit piece. Lastly, you can tell people that these false advertisements show the true character of a candidate. Tell them if Smith is lying to you now, how can you ever trust him to tell the truth once in office. You might also tell them he is spending over $250,000 a year on the political consultants that help him put together these hit pieces and that he is voted in 19 straight Democratic primaries for Democratic candidates before turning Republican. It's easy to attack the record of another when you have NO VOTING RECORD YOURSELF!!! I hope this helped you. Jeff Ney -- Brenda Ney Berks County Chair Rohrer for US Senate www.rohrerforsenate.org

George W. Bush to speak in Pennsylvania on GOP presidential primary day
Former President George W. Bush will deliver a speech in Pennsylvania on the day of the state's GOP presidential primary. Bush is the only prominent politician in his family that has not made an endorsement in the 2012 presidential race.
Bush will give the keynote address at the Plumstead Christian School's annual "Founders Forum" on the Calvary Church's campus in Souderton, according to the school's official website.
His father, former President George H. W. Bush is the most recent member of the Bush family to endorse former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for president.
Bush reportedly asked Romney if his son had endorsed him for president yet.
"I haven't met with President George W. Bush," Romney said. "We speak from time to time."
Barbara Bush, his wife, replied, "We'll talk about that."

Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution
Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Weeks One & Two Now Available - Sign Up TODAY!
 | Dr. Larry P. Arnn |
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
"Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution"
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101" course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.

The U.S. Constitution
A Reader
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Editorial Note: Just received a couple of copies of the reader. Not just a short course pamphlet this; with the heft of 'Atlas Shrugged', it is well worth getting whether or not you choose to take the course.
About Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs. Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012. |

About John Stossel
John Stossel joined Fox Business Network (FBN) in 2009. He hosts "Stossel," a weekly program highlighting current consumer issues with a libertarian viewpoint, which debuted. His first shows covered health care, global warming, the novel Atlas Shrugged, "food police", and the Road to Serfdom.
Prior to joining FBN, Stossel co-anchored ABC's prime-time news magazine show, 20/20. There he contributed in-depth special reports and recurring segments on a variety of consumer topics, from pop culture to government and business.
John Stossel's new book, "No, They Can't: Why Government Fails-but Individuals Succeed,"argues: "There ought not to be a law." Stossel explains how politicians promise to solve problems by passing laws, but the laws invariably make our problems worse.
Why don't we learn? Because our brains don't intuit well about complex situations. After thousands of years of taking orders from tribal elders, after years of obeying our parents, we are programmed to think that anytime there is a problem, whether it's companies going bankrupt or schools keeping kids stupid, government action is the way to solve it. Using his decades of reporting, Stossel tackles how those intuitive, knee-jerk reactions lead us astray.
Central planning sounds right. It feels good. But it has nothing to do with the realities of economics and science. There is nothing that government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals - and as groups of individuals, working together voluntarily, not at the point of a gun or under threat of a fine.

From July 16 through July 18, 2012, Christians United for Israel will be holding its 7th Annual Washington Summit. We're going back to stand with Israel in our nation's capital. This year - more than ever - we need you to join us!
In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
- We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
- We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
- We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
- We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.
We stand at a critical juncture in history. Don't be silent! Don't miss your chance to make a difference! Don't pass up your opportunity to defend America and bless Israel!
Our leaders need to remember that we are watching them and we need to remember that God is watching us.
The time to speak out for Israel is now! Please register today for CUFI's 2012 DC Summit.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
- Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
- Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
- Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

On Thursday, our staff finalized the most explosive resource that Grassfire has ever published. It's called 69 Obama Lies. It's a Fantastic Resource for this election year!
I believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough "vetting" of Obama's actual words in print. And I know it is going to outrage the Left because we actually hold Obama accountable for what he said!
Dear Patriot, About six weeks ago, our staff set out with the goal of putting the "truth detector" to what Obama has actually said. What we realized is Obama has lied so pervasively and thoroughly that even our staff had forgotten many of his most outrageous fibs! That's when we realized we had to create a written record of the Obama Lies. When we finished, we had created a 122-page, 20,000-word dossier that documents a disturbing cross-section of fibs, falsehoods, and fabrications that our President has used to win votes while implementing his radical agenda. Go here to see a larger image of the cover and the full list of 69 Obama Lies we have documented: http://www.grassfire.com/24098/offer.asp?Ref_ID=600013 + + The Lies that got Obama elected... 69 Obama Lies is organized in six sections that cover everything from the lies Obama has told about himself (we call these "ObamaLies"), to his campaign lies, his lies about government and taxes, ObamaCare and domestic and foreign policy. They are all here -- and footnoted so you will have complete documentation. We start with the ObamaLies -- his denial of Rev. Wright.... the "normalcy" of his church... the Bill Ayers lie... the ACORN lie... and Obama's "Brother's Keeper" lie which exposes his Marxist core. Let's be clear -- it was these "ObamaLies" along with his campaign lies that got Obama elected in the first place. Obama's ability to cloak his real beliefs and his real associations (with the willing help of the liberal media) kept his campaign moving forward. But we don't stop there.... + + Obama's "Big Government" Lies 69 Obama Lies also tracks the BIG LIE that Obama sold to the American people just after Inauguration Day -- that massive deficit spending would "create and save" jobs and restore the economy. It was all a LIE. We know that now. But it is vitally important to have the facts laid out in an orderly fashion. That's precisely what 69 Obama Lies does. We expose the full range of Obama's Big Government lies...
The "Create Or Save Jobs" Lie... The Stimulus Law is Working" Lie... The "I'll Cut The Deficit" Lie... The "Government Motors" Lie... The "Cash for Clunkers" Lie... The "Rich Pay Less In Taxes" Lie...
+ + Border Lies, ObamaCare Lies... Energy Lies... 69 Obama Lies literally covers every aspect of Obama's presidency -- from his lies about border security and immigration to his lies about gas prices and green jobs. We saved a whole section for Obama's signature legislative "achievement" -- ObamaCare. We've identified a Baker's Dozen of fibs Obama told just to get ObamaCare passed. And please note that each of the 69 Obama Lies is like a mini research report -- clearly laying out the specific Obama lie and fully documenting our sources. You get the actual words of Obama set against the truth -- the LIE next to the reality check. Go here to request your copies and see the complete list of 69 Lies: http://www.grassfire.com/24098/offer.asp?Ref_ID=600013 + + 69 Obama Lies Begins Shipping In Two Weeks! If you can help Grassfire with a contribution of ANY AMOUNT (even a few dollars to cover printing and shipping), we'll send you TWO COPIES of "69 Obama Lies" -- one to keep and one to share with a friend. We have asked the printer to rush the first printing of 69 Obama Lies so we can get this resource into our team members' hands as quickly as possible. As a result, we expect to begin shipping 69 Obama Lies the week of April 23.
In order to be included in our first shipment, please let me hear from you as soon as possible. Go here to request your two copies:
http://www.grassfire.com/24098/offer.asp?Ref_ID=600013 I truly believe 69 Obama Lies is the most thorough and most important resource Grassfire has ever created. And I want to put it in the hands of every Grassfire team member. Please take a moment to order your two copies of 69 Obama Lies today, and thanks for the stand you are taking. Steve Elliott Grassfire Nation
P.S. As I write, the manuscript is going to the printer and we expect to begin shipping 69 Obama Lies the week of April 23. The first print run of our last resource quickly sold out. Please go here to see the complete list of 69 Obama Lies and to order your copies:

Five Republicans battle in April primary to oppose Sen. Casey in fall
April 8, 2012 4:44 pm
1/7
WASHINGTON -- Everyone, it seems, wants Bob Casey's job.
Who wouldn't? The U.S. senator from Pennsylvania has one of Washington's most sought-after offices outside the White House.
His third-floor space in the Russell Senate Office Building was once occupied by the young Sen. John F. Kennedy. Four 8-by-10 shots on the wall show that Mr. Kennedy's desk was in the spot now reserved for office visitors who perch on a yellow couch to meet with Mr. Casey.
The office space, though, doesn't go with the job. Offices are assigned by seniority. Mr. Casey got the coveted spot when its prior occupant, Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., took over Joe Biden's office when the Delaware senator became vice president.
That's something Steve Welch, Tom Smith, Sam Rohrer, Marc Scaringi, David Christian and Joe Vodvarka ought to know.
The five Republicans and one Democrat -- Mr. Vodvarka -- are on the ballot to unseat the one-term U.S. senator from Scranton. John Kensinger wants a shot, too. The Bedford County pharmacist is running as a write-in candidate after failing to collect enough signatures to appear on the Republican primary ballot.
Recent polls show no clear frontrunner in the Republican contest, but indicate that Mr. Casey would beat any of them if the general election were held today.

RedState Morning Briefing
For April 17, 2012
Don't forget to file your taxes today if you haven't already. There are millions of Americans who depend on your tax dollars for survival thanks to Obama's economy.
1. Establishment to Ron Johnson - "Get in Line"
Last year, Senator Ron Johnson (HAFA Score 94) ran for a Leadership post (not because he wanted to be in Leadership but because he wanted to change it). Roy Blunt (HAFA Score 63) beat him. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (HAFA 76) had hand picked Senator Blunt. Even though McConnell pulled out all the stops to help Blunt, Johnson still got 22 Republican votes, which is a signal that nearly half of the Conference is not satisfied with the current strategy coming out of McConnell's shop.
Well it has gotten worse. Senate Republican Leadership staffers are now attacking Johnson either on behalf of leadership or because Senate GOP Leadership has lost control of their staff. Either way it's bad, and Senators must be wondering about McConnell's leadership skills.
After the leadership fight, instead of backing down, Johnson has voiced his displeasure with the lack of a coherent conservative strategy from McConnell's office.
In typical fashion though, rather than taking Johnson's advice and developing a conservative strategy, Leadership retaliated last week with a cowardly hit piece on Johnson. The article contained quotes from a "senior GOP aide."
2. Sit Down for a Conversation with House Conservatives
Got any questions for Rep. Raúl Labrador (ID-01), Rep. Tim Huelskamp (KS-01), Rep. Jeff Landry (LA-03), Rep. Allen West (FL-22), Rep. Mick Mulvaney (SC-05), Rep. Jeff Duncan (SC-03), Rep. Ted Poe (TX-02), Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01), Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25), Rep. Sandy Adams (FL-24), Rep. Bill Johnson (OH-06), Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-05), or Rep. Jim Jordan (OH-04), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee?
You can ask them today at an event moderated by Rob Bluey, Director of the Center for Media and Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation, focusing on tax reform, the Buffett Rule, and other news of the day.
3. NC Democratic party Executive Director Jay Parmley resigns, blames right-wing bloggers...
To refresh people's memories: allegations came out last week that NC Democratic party Executive Director Jay Parmley had sexually harassed a male staffer (the Daily Caller noted yesterday that local reports are saying that said staffer was also allegedly fired after making a complaint; if that's true, then there's a bigggggggggg problem going on in North Carolina right now for the Democratic party*). Anyway, Parmley has decided to leave his job - and is he bitter about it? Well, perhaps a little . . .
4. The Texas Budget Compact
If Texas Democrats, or even Republicans for that matter, thought they'd have a quieter, gentler Rick Perry on their hands in the wake of his . . . um . . . temporary diversion into Presidential politics, they know better today.
In a speech Monday in Houston, Perry laid out five fundamental conservative principles for the Texas Legislature to follow, essentially throwing down the gauntlet to any legislator - or wanna-be legislator - who thinks they'll be able to bring a tax and spend mindset to the Texas Capitol building.
Perry's "Texas Budget Compact" is pretty much bedrock conservative fare: no higher taxes, stricter limits on spending, truth-in-budgeting, cutting of wasteful programs, and maintaining a healthy "Rainy Day" reserve fund. They're basic enough that it's hard to imagine any candidate running for office in the reddest state in the union can ignore them without having some serious explaining to do.

SHOULD THE JORDANIAN MONARCHY FALL - WHAT THEN?
By: Joseph Puder
The "Arab Spring" revolutions seem to have bypassed the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan - at least for the time being. But for King Abdullah II of Jordan the long-term survival of his throne and that of the Hashemite monarchy is becoming more questionable. Jordan, a British creation, has never been an organic state but rather, is a concoction of Bedouin tribes and Palestinians, who by some estimates, comprise 70% of the population. It is therefore logical to assume that it may be just a matter of time before Jordan becomes a Palestinian State.
At this juncture in world history, it is imperative that the U.S. and its western allies begin to examine the possibility of a Palestinian State with its capital being Amman. "Jordan is Palestine," is not merely a slogan but rather the only realistic solution to the Arab (Palestinian)-Israeli conflict. Unlike the West Bank and Gaza, which are simply too small to contain a Palestinian population reputed to be nearly 4.3 million. Jordan's 89,342 square kilometers, more than four times the size of Israel's 20,770 square kilometers, would afford the Palestinians more than sufficient space and, some natural resources.
The Jordan River is and should be the natural border between the Palestinians and Israel - one that would provide security for Israel and allow the Palestinians to militarize. A militarized Palestinian State in the West Bank and Gaza, which is inevitable, would constitute a serious threat to Israel. Moreover, a Palestinian State in the West Bank and Gaza would naturally attract irredentist elements amongst the Arabs in Israel's Galilee that would further complicate the prospects of peace and security for Israel.
The two-state solution in the territory west of the Jordan River is a prescription for perpetual conflict between Arab-Palestinians and Jews. The close proximity of the Samaritan hills - which the Palestinians will claim - to Israel's population centers and the Ben-Gurion International Airport, poses an existential threat to the Jewish State. Rather than have two people fighting over one small parcel of land, Arab-Palestinians and Jews would be able to share the historic land mass of Palestine the way it was before the British cut off its eastern portion in 1922 - east of the Jordan River - to establish the Emirate of Trans-Jordan, later to be known as the Hashemite Kingdom. Poetic justice and fairness would place Eastern Palestine, now called Jordan, in Palestinian hands, and Israel would retain Western Palestine. Arab residents of the Palestinian cities in the West Bank and Gaza will be part of the Palestinian State, and the Jordan River will separate the two states.
Dr. Larbi Sadiki, a senior lecturer on Middle East Politics at the University of Exeter wrote in Al-Jazeera (February 25, 2012) "What is most striking about Jordan's durable pro-reform rioting, however, is its polyphony. Amid such noise, disunited tribes, Islamists, students, retired army officers, and former establishment figures are united in their cry for greater freedom and reform of the decaying monarchy. Jordan's 'Arab Spring' remains a long way away, but the protest current that has taken root refuses to fade away until the king and queen do more than sell hope, image, and rhetoric."
The defining element of dissent in Jordan is the growing dissatisfaction by the Bedouin tribes- long the bedrock of support of the royal regime, who are now in support of reform. The decentralized nature of the anti-government protest makes dissatisfaction difficult to contain; the esteem of the royal couple once considered as sacrosanct as that of the late King Hussein's, is diminishing. There are republican sentiments expressed openly, and former establishment figures have taken an anti-establishment posture, demanding an end to corruption and liberalization.
The restive Palestinians in Jordan, cognizant of the Arab Spring and its impact in Egypt, Tunisia, and possibly Syria, where dictatorial and corrupt rulers have been overthrown by the people, are seeking a more open and fair society, and a democracy. The Palestinians, more so than the Bedouin tribesmen, are alienated from King Abdullah, whose mother was British. They have little loyalty towards the monarchy, especially for their westernized king.
In a move that angered Palestinian-Jordanian further, the Jordanian government in recent years has stripped thousands of Palestinians of their Jordanian citizenship in an apparent response to calls to establish a Palestinian state in Jordan. This week, the Jordanian officials revoked the citizenship of PLO officials.
Mudar Zahran, a Palestinian-Jordanian writer who resides in Britain wrote in LiveLeak (March 3, 2012) "Abdullah should realize that Jordan's Palestinians are fed up with him and his policies and that all of his anti-Israel talk will not deter them from joining the Arab Spring. Abdullah must know that the Palestinian majority in Jordan is more concerned with the daily bread they cannot afford and the dignity they no longer have because of a king who treats them as sub-human...Abdullah and other Arab rulers must realize that bashing Israel will not get them an Arab-Spring exemption."
On January 17, 2012, a group of Jordanian and Palestinian-Jordanians [members of an organization they formed called Jordanian Overseas National Assembly (JONA)] demonstrated outside the White House in Washington DC. As reported by Hateen, a Jordanian news agency, they have demanded the end of the monarchy and the establishment of a Republic, and wrote a manifesto that included such phrases as "we believe in Jordan, not the Hashemite family," explaining that the Hashemite's derived their legitimacy in Jordan primarily from being a Hijazi (Saudi Arabian) family related to the Prophet. Members of JONA claim that Jordanians, on the other hand, are more organic to the land of Jordan. Hateen, called the JONA declaration of principles the most dangerous political statement yet faced by the Hashemite Kingdom. Jordanian MP, Dr. Ahmed Oweidi Al-Abbadi, a controversial figure with strong tribal ties, is sympathetic to JONA's positions. He has been recorded expressing his beliefs that King Abdullah II is "occupying the country."
Palestinian-Jordanians abroad are coming to the realization that the current Palestinian leadership is leading the people towards a dead-end. The endless postponement of elections, the Fatah-Hamas rivalry, and the possible dismantlement of the Palestinian Authority, makes the idea of "Jordan is Palestine" both attractive and perhaps more realistic than ever. Without the royal family, Jordan would be a predominantly Palestinian state. And for the people associated with JONA, and the likes of Dr. Ahmed Oweidi Al-Abbadi, Jordan should be a republic not a monarchy.
In a column that appeared in Ha'aretz, an Israeli daily newspaper, on April 12, 2012, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated that "Discussion about Jordan as a Palestinian State is against Israeli interests and against reality." However, should President Assad of Syria fall, King Abdullah II of Jordan may very well be next. And, given such a scenario, it would be an historic folly for Israel and the international community not to recognize that the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict rests on Jordan becoming the Palestinian State.

April 16, 2012 AMJA warns Muslims about our legal system
|
|
The Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) does not have the public profile of CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. But its rulings are jarring, such as the one we emailed in which AMJA ruled that forcing a wife to have sex is not rape. What's more, given the list of its members (see article below, highlighted), it clearly has serious influence in the Muslim community in America. Thus, its rulings and writings must be taken seriously. This is not a "fringe" organization, or a few "extremists" trying to "hijack" the religion of Islam. These are influential leaders whose writings and rulings are frequently sharply at odds with our Constitution, our laws and our freedoms. It's time to shine a brighter light on this organization, which is why we will be including information about it at our National Conference and Legislative Briefing. Register by this Friday and you will receive "early bird" benefits, including preferred seating at the gala banquet and a chance to win free conference registration and $250 towards your travel expenses! For more information and to register please click here.
http://www.translatingjihad.com/2012/04/mainstream-american-muslim-group-warns.html Mainstream American Muslim Group Warns Muslims Against Working in Law Enforcement, Becoming "Pleased with a Legal System That Does Not Come from Allah" Posted by Translating Jihad The Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) cautioned American Muslims in a 22-page Arabic-language paper in 2008 against working in law enforcement in countries which do not rule by Allah's dictates. One of their main concerns was that such work might cause Muslims to gain love and respect for secular laws:
|
...there are many evils which result from working in law enforcement, the greatest of which is compelling people to obey rulings which do not come from Allah. It could also cause reverence and love for these rulings to enter the heart of the police officer, and perhaps spread to the hearts of his family members and other Muslims who see him at the mosque or even Muslims in general. They could lose conviction of governance by Allah, and become pleased with a legal system that does not come from Allah. (italics added)
|
AMJA provided some allowances for Muslims to work in certain law enforcement professions, fearing that a lack of Muslim representation in this sector could bring negative effects for the Muslim community. They also reasoned that Muslims working as police officers might be able to use their positions to help the Muslim community, such as helping out with traffic near their mosques and protecting their mosques. Still, there was concern that some of these might be required to enforce laws contrary to the shari'a, such as "arrest[ing] a Muslim man whose wife said he 'raped' her." The AMJA paper specifically forbade Muslims from working for the FBI or in national security positions, due to their alleged arbitrary targeting of certain Muslims for "their political beliefs, charity work, or some of their convictions under the shari'a"--an apparent reference to counterterrorism investigations against Muslim suspects. The paper also made clear that Muslims are to seek justice not in secular courts, but in Islamic courts which are compliant with their shari'a: "It is not permissible to pursue justice in the man-made (i.e. non-Islamic) judiciary, except where there is an absence of a shari'a-compliant substitute capable of restoring one's rights and working out one's grievances" (see my translation of another AMJA paper on working in the judiciary here). Throughout the paper it is made clear that the duty of Muslims is not to uphold and respect the laws of the land in which they reside, but rather to do everything in their power to make the laws of Allah--the shari'a--supreme:
|
[Muslims are] to seek through legal means which exist in the countries in which they reside to make it possible for themselves to seek legal recourse in their shar'ia, and (not only) for personal affairs. The duty to make Islam supreme comes above all, even preserving one's life: We must remember that preserving the religion comes before preserving one's self, mind, wealth, honor, or offspring. [...] But if saving [the individual's] life destroys Islam, then saving Islam comes first, even if it means the individual is destroyed. This is the case with jihad against the infidels, and the killing of apostates, and so forth.
|
It is worth stressing once again that AMJA--whose stated purpose is to "clarify the rulings of the sharia which are relevant for those who live in America"--is a mainstream American Muslim organization. Their membership list contains a large number of highly-influential American imams and Muslim leaders, including Muhammad al-Majid of the Adam Center in Virginia; Hussein Hamed Hassan, director of the financial consultancy firm which advises Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and other large American banking institutions; Zulfiqar Ali Shah, former president of Islamic Circle of North America and current executive director of the Fiqh Council of North America; and the author of this paper, Dr. Hatem al-Haj, MD, PhD, a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics, and founder and president of "Building Blocks of Islam." A longer list of some of their prominent American members follows:

- Mohammad AlMajid, Imam of Adam Center (Virginia);

Walker Talks Policy, Dems Talk Hooters
Posted: 16 Apr 2012 03:16 PM PDT
(John Hinderaker)
The Wisconsin recall race is nearing a climax, as Democrats will hold a primary on May 8 to select a challenger for Governor Walker, and the general election will take place on June 5. The recall election is expected to be close, with pretty nearly everyone in Wisconsin already having made up his or her mind on the race.
On the other hand, one of the Democrats' problems is that don't get to just run an anti-Walker campaign. They have to nominate a specific candidate to run against the governor. That puts them in more or less the same position as the Republicans on the national scene, where a generic Republican has tended to run better against President Obama than any particular candidate does.
The two principal Democrats in the primary race are Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett and union sweetheart Kathleen Falk; both candidates have weaknesses. The latest polling-conducted on behalf of the Daily Kos, so take it for what it is worth-shows Governor Walker leading Barrett 50-45 and Falk 50-43.
As Christian Schneider notes in the linked post at The Corner, Walker has had a good week:
His campaign created ads critical of both Barrett and Falk (although he reportedly has only begun airing the anti-Barrett ads), and his staff has unearthed favorable educational data that the teachers' union had tried to hide from the public. Furthermore, a report issued by Walker's administration showed that due to his package of government-employee reforms, property taxes in the state have decreased for the first time in twelve years.
One of the reasons the Democrats wanted to try to recall Walker rather than merely running against him in 2014 is that the more Wisconsin residents see the results of Walker's policies, the better they will like them.
So what have the Democrats been doing to regain favor with Badger voters? Accusing Walker's communications director, Ciara Matthews, of having worked at Hooters as a college student. Seriously. And they are circulating this photo of Matthews, which they are convinced discredits her. You be the judge:
Somehow, I think both Matthews and Governor Walker will survive this devastating revelation. It makes you wonder, though: with all their talk about women, why is it that whenever someone in public life is attacked for something that actually has to do with being a woman, the attack always comes from the Democrats?

This Week's ClimateFail News
Posted: 16 Apr 2012 01:30 PM PDT
(Steven Hayward)
Another bad week for the climateers. Of course, you could write this headline every week for the last five years, but we want to keep Power Line readers up to date on the highlights of recent developments.
First up, keep in mind that this June, the world's leaders will re-assemble in Rio for the 20th anniversary of the UN's first Earth Summit, to reappraise what progress we've made since the Kyoto process was set in motion. The real agenda will be whether there's any way to breath new life into the expiring corpse of the UN climate process at all. In 1992, President George H.W. Bush relented to the pressure to attend and sign onto the UN flimflam. It will be curious to see whether President Obama attends, and signs onto the sequel. I predict he will not. And after one day of mild kvetching, enviros will give him a hall pass on it.
By the way, I always like to point out that the 1992 Earth Summit enacted two major international efforts: the Framework Convention on Climate Change (better known as the "Kyoto process"), and the Framework Convention on Biodiversity. My own opinion is that while the enviros overestimate the biodiversity problem (as they do virtually every environmental problem), risks to biodiversity are in fact the most significant global environmental problem, much more than climate change. But fossil fuel use, the Original Sin for modern environmentalism, is not much implicated in the species extinction problem, so the UN biodiversity project, and the issue itself, gets much less attention.
I'm in the habit of asking environmental reporters, when they call me for comment on the Kyoto protocol and related climate meetings, how many stories they've ever written about the UN Framework Convention on Biodiversity. The answer is usually asymptotically close to zero. Some environmental reporters tell me they're unfamiliar with it at all, at which point I reply that "You're not an environmental reporter; you're a climate reporter." It's a good way of not getting quoted in a story, which is fine with me.
Anyway, one thing to keep in mind as the global green establishment gathers in June to present the cognitively dissonant spectacle of simultaneous back-patting and doom-mongering is that almost no signatory to the Kyoto Protocol has lived up to the comparatively mild emissions reductions targets set out for this year way back in 1998. Those that claim to have done so have one big thing in common: they mostly cheated. Who says so? The Washington Post's environmental writer Bradford Plumer. The underlying analysis on which this story has based is from my pals out at the Breakthrough Institute in Oakland. And it turns out that the nations that did the best in genuine reductions in carbon emissions intensity are France and Sweden, because they turned heavily to . . . nuclear power. Oops. That sure doesn't fit the narrative.
Meanwhile, in other climate-related news, it appears many glaciers in Asia are like middle-aged middle-class American men: they're gaining mass. And Richard Lindzen has posted a spirited rebuttal to the critique of his climate presentation that I mentioned here a while ago. And China, Tom Friedman's solar power juggernaut, is having second thoughts, as are some environmentalists here in the U.S.
And just for dessert, The Telegraph's Christopher Booker delivers a thorough and much deserved beat down on Nature magazine for its relentless climate alarmism.

William Niskanen, A Life Well Lived
Posted: 16 Apr 2012 08:13 AM PDT
(Steven Hayward)
Back in October I noted here the passing of William Niskanen, the distinguished economist and long time chairman of the Cato Institute. (It was his passing that touched off the current fight between the Kochs and Cato's president, Ed Crane.)
Now, Cato is out with the following 12 minute video tribute to Bill. (Hat tip to Cato's Caleb Brown.) I turn up very briefly at about the 9 minute mark, but it includes much more eminent people testifying to Bill's rectitude, including Paul Volcker, Larry Summers, and James Miller. Worth a watch if you have the time to spare. Especially interesting today, I think, is recalling Niskanen's firing from Ford, because he wouldn't go along with its statism. A preview of today's bailed out auto industry.
[It seems the same gremlins that are affecting punctuation on the site right now have also somehow eaten up the embedded video. Our crack technical department is working on it. For the time being, here's a direct link.] [Wait! Now it's back! But I'll lane the auxiliary link here just in case.]

Beer Goggles and News Googles
Posted: 16 Apr 2012 07:25 AM PDT
(Steven Hayward)
I have often posed the following thought experiment to students and adult "civilians" to see not only the kind of answers it might elicit but whether there was any discernible generational difference. The thought experiment is this: how would the Watergate scandal have been affected if the Internet, social media, and the 24-hour cable news world existed in 1972-74? Would it have cycled faster? Or would the speed of Internet time perhaps have caused it to blow past, somewhat in the manner of the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal of 1998-99? Would the existence of ideologically-oriented news outlets (MSNBC, Fox) have affected the course of the scandal? (Fox, for example, would have rightly been all over the place pointing out how Johnson and Kennedy had bugged political opponents and abused power.)
The point of this exercise is to get people reflecting on the nature of political argument, public attention, and the changing media landscape today. During the crucial period of fall 1972 through spring 1973, we had to wait for the periodical installments of Woodward and Bernstein to advance the story. (An important subtext here is that it was two Metro reporters who drove this story; hardly any of the Watergate story was advanced by the puffed-up White House press corps.)
There is never any way to resolve these counterfactuals, but my hunch is that the Internet world would have sped up the Watergate timeline, and Nixon's fall would have occurred quicker. (The Vietnam War protest movement might also have been considerably more combustible if we'd had social media back then.) But I could be mistaken about this. Gordon Crovitz has a chilling article in today's Wall Street Journal, "Before Watergate Could Be Googled," about how college journalism students today, presented with a thought experiment similar to mine, think the Watergate story would have been broken with simple Google searches:
Mr. Woodward said he was shocked by how otherwise savvy students thought technology would have changed everything. "I came as close as I ever have to having an aneurysm," he said, "because the students wrote that, 'Oh, you would just use the Internet" and the details of the scandal would be there. The students imagined, as Mr. Woodward put it, "that somehow the Internet was a magic lantern that lit up all events."
. . . Another student wrote that "with the advancements in the technology of the Internet," it "would be simple to track down the $50,000 that were withdrawn from the intelligence-gathering fund." Another speculated that "the online community would have gone into a tweeting frenzy."
This tracks with what a magazine editor told me recently about the answer an increasing number of young prospective journalists give in job interviews when asked how they'd begin checking out a story assignment:
"I'd go see what's up on it at the Drudge Report."
Meanwhile, as for the first half of this morning's headline, "Beer Goggles," I actually don't have anything new about that beyond my Saturday post that mentioned the latest research. I just liked the cadence of the headline. So I went with it. Which seems to be about the standard for contemporary journalism. Plus it will probably generate a few hits when some lazy reporter Googles "beer goggles." I know I'm going to start drinking more beer earlier than usual today, because if what Crovitz reports is indicative of the next generation of journalists is going to be like, then the media is going to get even worse than it already is.

Debt Bomb: The app
Posted: 16 Apr 2012 04:48 AM PDT
(Scott Johnson)
Kyle Smith is the developer of the Debt Bomb application for mobile devices. The Daily Caller published a brief item on the app last week. We have gone straight to the developer for the story. Kyle Smith writes:
In the late winter and early spring of 2011, there was a lot of media coverage regarding the national deficits and debt. Americans understand that these amount to staggeringly large numbers, yet it is still difficult to comprehend exactly how the magnitude of this problem could affect one's pocketbook. This is one reason why it has been easy for politicians to make promises that postpone costs into the future - the debt's meaning is still relatively abstract to most. Many Americans are unsure whether the debt could truly affect them and have been sold on the false notion that America can just raise taxes on the wealthy and make relatively modest spending cuts to fix the issue.
As I followed the news, I realized there needed to be a way at least to provide an estimate of how expensive it might be on an individual level if Washington were to force the American people to pay for the full cost of its spending through higher taxes. An iPhone app seemed to be an ideal medium. It is a great interactive way to reach young, tech-savvy Americans who have a significant stake in how our fiscal problems will be resolved, especially as the current political climate favors avoiding making tough long-term budgetary choices, forcing younger generations to bear the brunt of poor fiscal decisions. As a result, I embarked on what turned out to be a yearlong project to model the tax code and make these large numbers more digestible.
The end result is Debt Bomb (as of now for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad), released in time for Tax Day. Debt Bomb informs users how our fiscal problems could affect households like theirs if America were to raise tax rates proportionally in order to cover the deficits and debt.
I would have liked to submit Debt Bomb as an entry to the Power Line Prize competition, but alas, it was not ready by then. I hope Power Line readers who followed the Prize competition will download Debt Bomb from the App Store. Debt Bomb meets the goal John laid out last May when he announced the Prize: "That leaves the critical one-third, many of them young, who for whatever reason do not yet understand the threat that federal spending and debt pose to them and to the country. Data have been collected; charts and graphs have been prepared; op-eds have been written. But many millions of Americans have not yet been reached or persuaded by these sober economic analyses. We need a marketing campaign: a sustained effort to use the tools of modern communication to reach and educate every American, and to mobilize popular opinion to demand reform from the politicians in Washington."
Now, a little bit about the nuts and bolts of the app: Debt Bomb begins with the options to (a) learn more about the origins of America's long-term fiscal problems, and (b) input information in order to project taxes for a household. If the user chooses the latter option, the user encounters a screen where he or she can easily build a profile of a household for the next 10 years. This "Build a Future" screen allows him or her to input basic information about the household, such as income, state of residence, marital status, and number of children. The user can then project the additional taxes that household would have to pay if America were to avoid spending cuts and pay for its spending in full through tax increases. Tapping a bar on this graph pulls up a detailed breakdown of the annual taxes that household would pay under three different tax scenarios versus the household's income.
At the heart of app is a model of the tax code, which includes major components such as the Alternative Minimum Tax and the Earned Income Tax Credit. The app also includes a model of Americans' income profiles, which is based upon publicly available data, so as to simplify the user input process to a few basic household characteristics. Very few people want to fill out their taxes on an iPhone, so Debt Bomb simulates this information for them.
Debt Bomb relies on static projections, which assume that people do not change their behavior in response to higher tax rates. A dynamic model is a bit more complex and would produce even higher tax rates, as it would account for effects such as changes in tax filing behavior and people working less in response to higher taxes. However, the static projections should be fairly adequate for most users because they initially enter the income a household expects to make and then see what the government would need to take from that in order to cover promised spending. Adding an advanced feature to account for dynamic effects is likely to come in an update to the app.
Finally, Debt Bomb allows users to take action on the issue by contacting their elected representatives directly from the app and emailing and tweeting the information to others.
Kyle adds this footnote regarding the Debt Bomb app logo: "I was fortunate to have a friend of mine from Princeton, Sean Rubin, work with me to design it. He's really going places - his graphic novel Bolivar was just recently picked up by Warner Brothers to be turned into an animated movie."

Monday, April 16, 2012 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 204 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS On The Road With Obama America's foreign policy and our image overseas have taken a beating in recent days. Last week North Korea violated yet another agreement by allegedly attempting to launch a satellite into space. But this claim is just as ludicrous as Iran saying it needs a nuclear program for energy. North Korea was testing its long-range ballistic missile technology. A left-wing paper in England declared that Obama's engagement policy with North Korea was left "in tatters." To add insult to injury, news broke over the weekend that Obama's entourage went wild during the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia. While Obama was "scouting out" his next vacation spot, 11 Secret Service agents were suspended for attempting to solicit prostitutes. At least five members of the U.S. military assisting with presidential security are also being disciplined for "curfew violations." Asked Sunday about this disturbing behavior, Obama reserved judgment, saying, "If it turns out some of the allegations that have been made in the press are confirmed, then, of course, I'll be angry." If only Obama had been this circumspect when commenting about the Cambridge police or the Trayvon Martin shooting. In those cases, Obama rushed to judgment, accusing the Cambridge police of "acting stupidly" and stoking racial tensions in the Trayvon Martin case. Less serious (but no less embarrassing) was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's dance performance at the Café Havana nightclub. Please -- a little dignity would be nice. This comes on the heels of the recent scandal involving an outlandish Las Vegas conference held by the General Services Administration that cost taxpayers more than $800,000. It also cost former GSA Administrator Martha Johnson her job. The irony is that Barack Obama has repeatedly lectured businesses and the American people about wasting money in Las Vegas. In 2009, he told business leaders, "You can't go take a trip to Las Vegas ... on the taxpayer's dime." In 2010, Obama said, "You don't blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you're trying to save for college." Is anyone in charge? Where are the adults in the Obama Administration? The hypocritical double standard is outrageous, but it is typical of the left. Big Government liberals don't think the rules they make for the rest of us apply to them. They forget that they work for us! Let's hope the American people remind them by voting for smaller government and against Barack Obama and his socialist allies in 204 days! Obama's Biggest Donor Bashes Ann Romney If you thought the Hilary Rosen/Ann Romney flap over working mothers was going to be a 24-hour story, think again. Barack Obama's biggest donor has chimed in, with less than flattering remarks toward Mrs. Romney. Bill Maher, who donated $1 million to a pro-Obama super PAC, defended Hilary Rosen and said this on his HBO show Friday night: "But what she meant to say, I think, was that Ann Romney has never gotten her a-- out of the house to work." Real classy, Bill. So far, Maher hasn't resorted to the kind of language he normally reserves for conservative women, but I'm afraid we'll be hearing more from Bill Maher as the year goes on. And I feel confident that no matter how outrageous his rhetoric is the Obama campaign won't return Maher's million-dollar donation. The Do-Nothing Senate A centerpiece of Barack Obama's reelection campaign will be efforts to attack congressional Republicans as a "do-nothing Congress." It's a false charge for one very obvious reason: We don't have a Republican Congress. While Republicans control the House, Obama's Democrat allies, led by Harry Reid, control the Senate and it is the Senate that is doing nothing. The Republican-led House has passed dozens of pro-growth, jobs bills, but rarely do they even get a vote in Reid's Senate. Now, a report by the Secretary of the Senate confirms that the "do-nothing" label should be applied to Obama's Senate allies. According to the report, the Democrat Senate is among the least productive in 20 years. Last year, it was in session for 170 days -- and those weren't even full days! Compared to 2009, there were 30% fewer bills introduced last year, 55% fewer amendments and 40% fewer roll call votes. So the next time a liberal friend complains about the "do-nothing Congress," remind them that the problem is really the "do-nothing Democrat Senate." Then tell them to vote for change! Losing Canada's Oil Ever since Barack Obama rejected the Keystone XL pipeline, which would have brought in more oil from our friend and ally to the north, experts across the spectrum -- from economics to national security -- have warned that we risk losing access to this vital resource to the Chinese. For example, General Jim Jones, Obama's former National Security Advisor, warned:
"If we get to the point where we cannot bring ourselves to do what is in our national interest, then we are clearly in a period of decline... A nation that fails to secure the energy its citizens and its economic engine need to keep functioning leaves itself vulnerable to external contingencies in a dangerous and uncertain world and to the whims of foreign leaders and other actors who may not always have its interests at heart. The delay, and possible rejection of this pipeline, could have significant and long-range national security implications for our nation."
Last week the Wall Street Journal reported that Canada is looking to "bypass" the U.S. with a $5 billion expansion of the Trans Mountain pipeline, "nearly tripling the capacity of crude oil it can ship to Canada's west coast." From there, the oil will be pumped onto tankers and shipped to China. Remember that the next time you fill up at the gas station. How Romney Can Unite The GOP After a long and bruising Republican primary season, two things are clear: Mitt Romney is the nominee but he still faces a challenge closing the deal with many conservative voters. In my weekly Human Events column, I offer some suggestions on how our likely nominee can unite the party behind the urgent task of ending the Obama nightmare.

To help combat voter fraud the first thing to do is STOP saying we will lose because of voter fraud. That helps our enemies dampen our will, it plays into their hands and it need not true if we work hard to defeat fraud.
If you want to combat voter fraud work hard and generate a lead of more than 4% for our candidates. Overcoming a lead of more than 3% ... Continue Reading:Fretting and hiding under a desk won't stop voter fraud; fighting back will

On APRIL 15, 1865, President Lincoln died. He was shot the night before in Ford's Theater. On APRIL 15, 1912, the Titanic sank. It struck an iceberg the night before. In 1954, APRIL 15 became the deadline for filing Income tax returns. Though the Constitution banned a Federal Income Tax (Art.1,Sec.9), Lincoln passed an emergency income tax to pay for the Civil War. It was repealed in 1873. An income tax was attempted in 1894, but the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional in Pollock v Farmers' Loan. With World War I threatening, Woodrow Wilson thought ending tariff taxes on imports between countries would bring world peace, but tariffs were the Federal Government's main source of revenue. Wilson promoted replacing tariff revenue with a Federal income tax. In 1913, the 16th Amendment was passed. It was a one percent tax on the top one ... Continue Reading:American Minute April 15

I don't know why George Zimmerman is trying to raise money for his defense. His lawyer should be filing a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against NBC and its parent company, GE, designed to cripple them and remove the network from the airways.
Their actions in the editing of the 911 tape were malicious, designed to start race wars and get George Zimmerman killed. There is no other answer for their lies. They managed to get a "wanted dead or alive" bounty on George Zimmerman's head by those that believed their purposeful, hate driven, race-baiting, money grubbing lies.
They cannot get away with such a blatant violation of George Zimmerman's rights, and the letter of the license to use the airways. They used their considerable authority, granted by the FCC, to deceive the public on a scale heretofore unheard of, for the purpose of ratings and money.

The Foundation
"Excessive taxation ... will carry reason and reflection to every man's door, and particularly in the hour of election." --Thomas Jefferson
Opinion in Brief
The Buffett Rule is Math? Well, let's do some math.
"Let's do the math. The Joint Committee on Taxation estimates this new ['Buffett Rule'] tax would yield between $4 billion and $5 billion a year. If we collect the Buffett tax for the next 250 years -- a span longer than the life of this republic -- it would not cover the Obama deficit for 2011 alone. As an approach to our mountain of debt, the Buffett Rule is a farce. And yet Obama repeated the ridiculous claim again this week. 'It will help us close our deficit.' Does he really think we're that stupid? Hence the fallback: The Buffett Rule is a first step in tax reform. On the contrary. It's a substitute for tax reform, an evasion of tax reform. In three years, Obama hasn't touched tax (or, for that matter, entitlement) reform, and clearly has no intention to. The Buffett Rule is nothing but a form of redistributionism that has vanishingly little to do with debt reduction and everything to do with re-election. ... For Obama, fairness is the supreme social value. And fairness is what he is running on -- although he is not prepared to come clean on its price. Or even acknowledge that there is a price. Instead, Obama throws in a free economic lunch for all. 'This is not just about fairness,' he insisted on Wednesday. 'This is also about growth.' ... Three years ago, Obama promised universal health care that saves money. Today, he offers a capital gains tax hike that spurs economic growth. This is free-lunch egalitarianism." --columnist Charles Krauthammer
Will Obama's free-lunch rhetoric win him the next election?
For the Record
"In an address this past week, Obama cited a couple of Reagan speeches from June 1985, in which the former president quoted a letter from a wealthy executive who grumbled that he paid less in taxes than secretaries or bus drivers. ... With a tongue-in-cheek flourish, Obama referred to Reagan as 'that wild-eyed, socialist, tax-hiking class warrior.' ... Rather than raising the capital-gains tax on successful investors or punishing wealthy people ... Reagan wanted full-bore pro-growth tax reform that would slash rates for everyone, simplify the tax system with only two brackets and eliminate tax shelters that allowed people to avoid paying any taxes at all. Obama's duplicity in misquoting Reagan was chronicled nicely by Glenn Kessler of The Washington Post. Kessler pointed out that Reagan said: 'We want to cut taxes, not opportunity. ... By lowering everyone's tax rates all the way up the income scale, each of us will have a greater incentive to climb higher, to excel, to help America grow.' ... The Gipper had nothing to do with punishing rich people or jacking up the capital-gains tax, which is probably the most important investor-class tax on risk and entrepreneurship. ... Instead of rewarding success, Obama punishes it. Instead of economic growth, he talks about tax fairness, which is a euphemism for redistributing resources from private hands to the government sector -- the exact opposite of Reagan." --economist Larry Kudlow
The Gipper
"Any system that penalizes success and accomplishment is wrong. Any system that discourages work, discourages productivity, discourages economic progress, is wrong. If, on the other hand, you reduce tax rates and allow people to spend or save more of what they earn, they'll be more industrious; they'll have more incentive to work hard, and money they earn will add fuel to the great economic machine that energizes our national progress." --Ronald Reagan

Government
"While it isn't true that the rich are not paying their fair share, it is true that you are subsidizing Warren Buffett's Medicare. This is but one of the many injustices and inefficiencies of our current health care system that will only worsen if Obamacare is not repealed or overturned by the Supreme Court. ... Yet with the very next breath, Democrats nearly always argue that the pre-Obamacare health system was a 'free-market' system that failed. On the contrary, the pre-Obamacare health system was already badly distorted by government. The open-ended Medicare entitlement, which pays for every medical expense incurred by the elderly, without regard to income, is an invitation to overuse. Consumers have no incentive to shop for value and thus, have no idea what the care they receive even costs. Medicaid is even worse. Those with employer provided insurance (about 80 percent of the population), likewise have no incentive to economize on health care consumption or shop for value, since someone else pays the bills. ... Republicans missed an opportunity to reform health care in a free-market direction during the early years of this century. If the court spares us from Obamacare, they may get a rare second chance and thus avoid the rationing, crippling expense and decline in quality for which we are otherwise headed." --columnist Mona Charen
Political Futures
"Obama's inflationary policies have driven up the stock market and driven down the unemployment rate, thanks to massive workforce dropouts. Oil prices will undoubtedly drop precipitously at a convenient moment, so long as Obama makes OPEC countries a few promises on Israel behind the scenes. If there is to be a crystallizing moment, it will come on foreign policy. Obama's foreign policy has, if possible, been more damaging than his domestic policies, which simply doubled down on Bush's spending addiction. Obama's foreign policy is different in kind: It sees America as a nasty force in the world, a country in need of a lesson. And America may well get that lesson. Hence Obama's dramatic attempts to undercut Israel on taking out the Iranian nuclear program. If Obama is forced to choose between his hard-left and Islamist allies and an American public largely friendly to Israel, he will reveal himself to be the radical he truly is. This election cycle started with the promise that it would be run on economics. It will be run on economics, for the most part. But if Romney is to win, he will win on foreign policy." --columnist Ben Shapiro
Re: The Left
"The authenticity of conservative women has always been under attack by radical orthodox feminists, but perhaps not as brazenly as by someone with such direct and frequent access to the corridors of the White House message machine as Hilary B. Rosen. ... [Ann] Romney, sneered Rosen, 'never worked a day in her life' outside of the home and should have no voice on women's issues. ... In 1992, Hillary Clinton mocked women who stayed at home and 'baked cookies and had teas.' In 2004, blueblood Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry, sniffed that first lady Laura Bush ... never 'had a real job -- I mean, since she's been grown up.' ... What's striking about Rosen's latest ideological sniper attack is that she is not some lone-wolf operative on the fringes of Beltway influence. She works with former White House communications director Anita Dunn at the D.C.-based strategic communications consulting firm SKDKnickerbocker. That's the same company that promoted the anti-Palin smear movie 'Game Change' and that represented liberal Georgetown law school student activist and manufactured War on Women poster woman Sandra Fluke. Smack dab at the intersection of progressive agitation and Democratic Party campaign-season maneuvering." --columnist Michelle Malkin
Faith & Family
"Feminism as ideology eschews individual choice. Women must fit a certain mold; if they don't, they're either deemed in need of having their consciousness raised or dismissed as frivolous ninnies. Ann Romney, who raised fives sons, has defended herself against Rosen's accusation by saying Rosen should have come to her 'house when those five boys were causing so much trouble. It wasn't so easy.' Frankly, Romney would be better off not dignifying Rosen's attack by responding. Anyone who has spent a day caring for a toddler -- much less trying to handle five boys at one time -- knows that motherhood is hard, full-time work. The fact that many mothers choose to work outside the home, as I did, does not mean that those who choose to stay at home are taking the easy way out. ... Feminists believe that the only legitimate role models for young girls are women whose lives mirror their own. Feminists don't want to expand choices available to young women so much as they want to limit the options to feminist-approved categories, and full-time homemaker clearly isn't on the list." --columnist Linda Chavez
Culture
"In light of the tragic killing of black teenager Trayvon Martin -- and the manufactured hysteria surrounding it -- one thing needs to be stated as clearly and as often as possible: The United States is the least racist and least xenophobic country in the world. Foreigners of every race, ethnicity, and religion know this. Most Americans suspect this. Most black Americans and the entire left deny this. Black Africans know this. That is why so many seek to live in the United States. Decades ago, the number of black Africans who had immigrated to the United States had already surpassed the number of black Africans who were forcibly shipped to America as slaves. ... The left-wing drumbeat about America as racist is a combination of politics and black memory. The political aspect is this: The Democrats and the left recognize that if blacks cease viewing themselves as victims of racism, the Democratic Party can no longer offer itself as black America's savior." --radio talk-show host Dennis Prager
Editor's Note: Have you heard about the horrendous black-on-white assault, rape and murder case in Oklahoma? If not, no wonder -- a search of this story returns no national coverage from any print or TV media source. Read it here.
Reader Comments
"In Mark Alexander's most recent column, 'Judicial Review v Judicial Activism,' which did an outstanding job of explaining the difference, he questioned if the integrity of our Constitution could be restored through the ballot box. I would suggest that several generations of Americans have been subject to government schooling that neglected to teach civics. Consequently, there is an enormous rift between the Marxist progressive agenda vs. Rule of Law and any effort to restore our Constitution's integrity. That rift is now so severe that the only recourse may soon be armed rebellion." --New York
"The only way Liberty can be preserved through the ballot box is if, and only if, the integrity of our voting system is maintained. The present path of allowing illegal aliens, non-citizens, the dead, and multiple votes by voters is undermining the faith citizens have in the ballot. If the present trend is continued and goes unchecked, the ballot will have no significance in our country. We will then be left to the machinations of our elected officials to maintain the Constitution. This will prove to be unacceptable as politicians continue their grabs for power and money. The elitists we have in Washington are not going to enforce the Constitution as they have no respect for it." --Bill, Texas
"I love The Patriot Post's articles, but what is this nonsense about 'now's the time to rally around Mitt Romney?' Come on, folks, are you SERIOUS? Reading all this great stuff, and then I come across a ridiculous comment like this. If a second-rate 'Obama' gets the Republican nomination, why not just vote for the real thing? Disappointing, my friends!" --Charlie
Editor's Reply: Nowhere have we endorsed Mitt Romney, yet we see our choices this fall as being either Barack Obama or Romney. The War for American Independence wasn't won at Lexington or Concord, but the first shots for Liberty had to be fired somewhere. The same is true in November. Romney won't restore constitutional Rule of Law in its entirety, but we have to start somewhere.
The Last Word
"President Obama, you sly dog. You were ... trying to make it seem that Ronald Reagan would support your socialist dream for America. ... That, Mr. President, is absolutely untrue. So is your insinuation that Ronald Reagan would not have supported Congressman Paul Ryan's budget plan, which passed 228-191 while your budget plan was being laughed out of the House by a 419-0 vote. ... President Obama, I have a suggestion. If you really want to find the cause of your budget problems, don't blame anti-tax Republicans. Look in the mirror. Then give Harry Reid a call over at the Senate and ask him why he hasn't put up a budget in 1,000 days. And, please, don't try to make people believe Ronald Reagan would support you or any part of your failed plan to return the United States to economic health by higher taxes and more spending. He wouldn't. Mr. President, I knew Ronald Reagan. He was not only a friend of mine, he was my father. And trust me, he'd never be a political friend of yours." --columnist Michael Reagan

Morning Bell: Tax Gimmicks, Tax Doom
Mike Brownfield
April 16, 2012
The U.S. Senate could vote today on the gimmicky distraction known as the Buffett Rule - President Obama's plan to raise taxes on wealthy Americans and job creators in order to supposedly bring "fairness" to the tax code and pay down the debt. As the paper-thin justification for the proposal continues to fade away, the American people are staring down Tax Day, continued joblessness, and the prospect of a major tax meltdown coming on January 1, 2013.
The facts of the Buffett Rule are simple. The President wants millionaires (and small businesses taxed as individuals) to pay a minimum tax of 30 percent. For all of his rhetoric that the measure would "stabilize our debt and deficits for the next decade," the Buffett Rule would bring in only $47 billion in revenue in ten years. To put those numbers in context, President Obama's budget calls for adding $6.7 trillion to the national debt. So the Buffett Rule would cover just 0.7% of all of Obama's debt and .1% of Obama's spending.
None of this even touches on the failure in logic underlying the President's argument, as we detailed in depth last week. In short, President Obama is employing the Buffett Rule as an election-year class warfare weapon. And he's aiming it at the highest-earning families and businesses in America who are already shouldering the vast majority of the country's tax burden. Just one example: The top 1 percent of income earners - those earning more than $380,000 in 2008 - paid more than 38 percent of all federal income taxes while earning 20 percent of all income.
What's more, the whole idea of the Buffett Rule is based on a fallacy.

On Today's Program
Tonight on GBTV: Get Glenn's first reaction to Farrakhan's latest edition of crazy, and see how the Secret Service suddenly hit the gaffe train under Obama. That and more tonight at 5pm only on GBTV!
Real News: Today the mainstream is all abuzz with the scandal involving the secret service and their dalliances with prostitutes in foreign lands. We want to talk about the events that rocked the Middle East over the weekend. Don't miss Real News tonight at 6pm ET (or on demand).
Huh? Secret Service caught in prostitution scandal The Secret Service has had a rock solid history with virtually zero blemishes - that is until the Obama administration. Glenn talks about the sudden string of 'mistakes' from the historically reliable Secret Service that have popped up under the Obama administration.
WATCH: Glenn mocks Obama's 'Yes We Can' slogan at NRA speech
Feeling Charitable? Yeah... neither are we, but it's tax day, the most charitable day of the year according to this administration. The truth of the matter is that in order for us to reduce the size of government we are all going to have to put this government out of business through private charity and service. Next time the media or someone from the Obama White House says, "but who will take care of the poor?" "We will" won't be good enough; we have to be able to say "we are." Glenn had more to say on this recently in an op-ed for CNN...
Farrakhan strikes again: Just 2 days after GBTV's special exposing Farrakhan, the controversial Nation of Islam leader comes out and says "People will soon kill their leaders"
Occupy rips off Beck As much as the Obama Administration and the left likes to dismiss Glenn's audience, they would love nothing more than to have supporters just like his. The 99% Spring Obama/Biden campaign recently released a statement that sounds so eerily familiar to the opening of Glenn's GBTV program you'll have to hear it yourself to believe it...
FOX News Mole: the dumbest human being ever? The guy who tried to out his employer & thought he was going to be a leftist hero turned out to be (not shockingly) a big fat idiot. His hopes of dragging this thing on and landing a big book deal are over. All he got was a big pink slip after just a few hours into his "genius" operation. But does the whole controversy reveal a secret blacklist against conservatives in the media? Glenn reacts on radio today.
Food, fire and water - are you prepared? Protect your family with a complete emergency preparedness package and the peace of mind that comes with it! You'll get 2 fire starters, a personal water filter, 2 survival seed vaults, an emergency stove including fuel tablets and drinking water germicidal tablets. Get all of the details at Markdown.com.
Oops! Obama advisor endorses Romney! Axelrod puts Tweet in mouth Obama campaign advisor David Axelrod put his hat into the 'dumbest human being ever' ring alongside Mr. Fox News mole when he sent out a tweet that appeared to condemn Obama's track record on the economy. Check out the gaffe gift to Romney & Glenn's reaction HERE.
Julian Assange show launches on RT tomorrow Mr. freedom fighter, Mr. I am going to uncover and expose corrupt governments & founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange, strangely caved on releasing damaging info on only one country: Russia. Then even more strangely, Julian Assange gets hired by Russia's propaganda machine, Russia Today, to host his very own show. Coincidence? Glenn reacts on radio today.
New documentary coming to GBTV: The U.S. is under attack. The enemy moves freely amongst us and even advises the very government bodies to protect us from such a threat. A shocking new documentary coming next Wednesday to GBTV provides irrefutable evidence of the attack underway. The information you will see in this film has to be shared with as many Americans as possible to wake them up. WATCH THE TRAILER |
