Obama Admin Blames Israel for Gas Price Rise
The World Tribune reported yesterday that Robert Satloff, executive director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, spoke with Israeli officials. They told him that the Obama administration was blaming Israel for the spike in crude oil prices currently hurting President Obama in the polls.
Members of the Israeli government were also deeply disturbed by the Obama administration's repeated leaking of information intended to stop Israel from attacking Iran. "I cannot underscore how deep and visceral the [Israeli] comments of the leaking that come out of Washington were," said Satloff.
Late last month, Foreign Policy published an article suggesting that Israel had worked out a deal with Azerbaijan to provide airbases in case of an Israeli strike on Iran. "The United States is leaking information to the media in order to avert an Israeli strike in Iran," said Israeli military analyst Ron Ben-Yishai.
That was not the first time the Obama administration had leaked information that harmed Israel. Back in 2010, a "defense" source leaked that Israel had worked out a deal with Saudi Arabia to use Saudi airspace for an attack on Iran. A few months ago, Leon Panetta suggested that Israel was planning to attack Iran in April, May or June. Another plan; another blown secret by the Obama administration.
The Obama agenda is obvious here: they want to stop Israel from striking Iran before the election, and they want to lower the price of oil. They only way to do both is to leak Israeli secrets and then blame Israel for the spike in oil prices to appease the OPEC countries. And that's precisely what the Obama administration is doing.

Obama camp demands Romney's tax returns from '80s
Obama camp demands Romney's tax returns from '80s President Obama's re-election campaign is calling on Mitt Romney to release his tax returns dating back to the 1980s, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Following a front-page Wall Street Journal article Thursday reporting that employees at Bain Capital, Romney's former private-equity firm, were allowed to invest their retirement money in companies the firm acquired through a special share class, the Obama camp is seeking Romney's old tax returns to see if they contain information about the investment arrangement... "Today's report raises additional questions about Gov. Romney's manipulation of the tax laws," Ben LaBolt, an Obama spokesman, told The Journal, adding that Romney "may have engaged in questionable maneuvers to drive up the value of his IRA."

President Obama Goes on Record Opposing Marbury v. Madison
RedState | Posted by Leon H. Wolf | Monday, April 2nd at 6:26PM EDT
For a guy who graduated from Harvard Law, Barack Obama is not really very well versed on his law or his legal history. Speaking out today about the Supreme Court's review of Obamacare, Obama offered this stunning and completely ahistorical nugget:
Ultimately, I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected congress.
Look, I'm not here to debate the finer points of Marbury v. Madison with anyone, but the fact remains that since that decision was handed down over 200 years ago, it has not exactly been "unprecedented and extraordinary" for the Supreme Court to overturn laws passed by Congress (no matter the size of the majority). In fact, it happens all the time. That is the entire point of the doctrine of judicial review, first announced in Marbury and affirmed without serious challenge ever since.
I would seriously like to know, and I hope the press gets Obama on the record on this - is it President Obama's contention that the Supreme Court's only role in reviewing legislation is to double-check the count on the roll call vote to make sure that a majority in fact voted for the law and to check the President's signature for possible forgery? Because, I mean, if that's what we're going to go back to, I'm open to having that discussion but we are going to have to figure out what to do with several hundred SCOTUS decisions that have taken a decidedly different view.
Of course, in making these comments Obama is exposing himself yet again as a cynical hack who is devoid of anything resembling shame. In 2003, the United States Congress passed the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 by substantially larger margins than Obamacare. When the Supreme Court refused to strike down this law, which was passed by a "democratically elected Congress," then-Senator Obama threw an absolute hissy fit about the fact that the Supreme Court had upheld the clear will of Congress (and the vast majority of the American people).
However, when it's his own legislation at stake, Obama seems suddenly ready to go back and undo pretty much every Supreme Court precedent over the last 200 years in order to strip the Court of their power to rule on any question other than whether the roll call was tallied properly. The most galling thing of all is that if any Republican had said this, the media would be busily trying to paint them as an uneducated rube who was unaware of Marbury v. Madison - when Obama says it, it's presented as a thoughtful defense of his brilliant law.

Palestinians Honor Disgraced Journalist Helen Thomas for Standing Against Israel
The Blaze | by Jonathon M. Seidl | Posted on April 3, 2012 at 8:25am
JERUSALEM (The Blaze/AP) - The top Palestinian envoy to the U.S. has honored longtime American journalist and former White House correspondent Helen Thomas in an award ceremony.
A Palestinian official says Maen Erekat, the PLO representative in Washington, hosted Thomas at a dinner at his residence.
The storied columnist, who is 91, was forced stepped down two years ago from her job with the Hearst Newspaper chain after video footage emerged showing her outside the White House saying Israelis should "get the hell out of Palestine."

Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution
Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Weeks One & Two Now Available - Sign Up TODAY!
 | Dr. Larry P. Arnn |
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
"Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution"
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101" course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.

The U.S. Constitution
A Reader
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Editorial Note: Just received a couple of copies of the reader. Not just a short course pamphlet this; with the heft of 'Atlas Shrugged', it is well worth getting whether or not you choose to take the course.
About Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs. Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012. |

The bad news is last month some well intentioned political activist announced a cut-off date for signing up co-sponsors for Rep. Rose Marie Swanger's American Law's for American Courts (HB 2029) in an effort to inject some urgency into the effort.
What it resulted in was an interruption of the campaign to encourage those Representatives not yet signed on as co-sponsors to join with those Legislators who have already recognized the death by smothering threat to our Constitution.
The good news is there is no cut-off date for adding co-sponsors and we are once again asking your readers to contact their representatives and ask they join the battle.
There are only three Representatives from Bucks who are co-sponsors, Representatives Clymer, Petri and Quinn and we thank them for showing their colors.
But that leaves seven more Representatives who appear to be still standing on the sidelines as the battle for our existence as a free people is joined.
Lame rhetoric? I'm afraid not. If you do not understand the threat we face from 'peaceful' opportunists like CAIR, visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bucksafa11info/messages or contact me at bucksafa11@yahoo.com to schedule an Open the Koran presentation for you and your friends.
If you're ready to help, visit www.actforamerica.org and sign on as a chapter leader. It's free and the people there are friendly and helpful. Your help is needed. Every township, every neighborhood needs an Act! for America chapter leader.
But before you do anything, if your Pennsylvania Representative has not yet ssigned on as co-sponsor, urge her/him to do so and ask what is it that prevents him/her from doing so.
Help Pennsylvania be counted among those States that have shown the courage to face off with the enemies who have plainly stated their aim is to destroy our Nation. Our laws have worked just fine since colonial times. What is needed are politicians who respect them. And you know whose job it is to remind them of that.
Thanks,
John Ryan

CAIR's Fight Against Pennsylvania Foreign Law Bill
by David J. Rusin FrontPage Magazine February 13, 2012
http://www.islamist-watch.org/9192/cair-fight-against-pennsylvania-foreign-law-bill
Resistance to a new bill aimed at limiting foreign law in Pennsylvania courts serves as a case study of how Islamists and their allies operate: peddling falsehoods about Shari'a, painting Muslims as victims, and denying that anyone seeks to institutionalize aspects of Islamic law - even as they vigorously promote that very agenda. With similar legislation being debated across the U.S., understanding their tactics is critical.
At issue in Pennsylvania is House Bill (HB) 2029, which stipulates that "a tribunal shall not consider a foreign legal code or system which does not grant ... the same fundamental liberties, rights and privileges" as guaranteed by the federal and state constitutions. Introduced in November, it follows the American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) model and makes no mention of Shari'a. A preliminary memo sent to legislators last June in the name of Rep. RoseMarie Swanger, HB 2029's chief sponsor, does highlight Islamic law, but she later said that it had been circulated accidentally. Regardless, concerns about Shari'a are warranted due to its many provisions that conflict with the standards of American jurisprudence. For example, it disadvantages women in terms of inheritance, divorce, child custody, and other areas of family law. Shari'a already has shaped numerous cases nationwide, including in Pennsylvania, where one state court decided how assets should be distributed according to Islam.
Pushback against HB 2029 has been led by the Philadelphia office of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) and was punctuated by an interfaith press conference (video here) at CAIR-PA headquarters on December 14. The overall campaign reflects CAIR's usual recipe of distortion, victimology, and contradiction between words and deeds.
Attacks on bills like HB 2029 begin by sowing confusion about Shari'a. Because Islamic law encompasses virtually every facet of life - governing personal activities such as eating and worship, but also forming an oppressive social and legal structure - suit-and-tie Islamists work to emphasize its unthreatening pieces whenever possible. CAIR-PA executive director Moein Khawaja's suggestion that Shari'a should worry Pennsylvanians no more than halal gyros is a fine example of this technique.

From July 16 through July 18, 2012, Christians United for Israel will be holding its 7th Annual Washington Summit. We're going back to stand with Israel in our nation's capital. This year - more than ever - we need you to join us!
In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
- We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
- We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
- We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
- We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.
We stand at a critical juncture in history. Don't be silent! Don't miss your chance to make a difference! Don't pass up your opportunity to defend America and bless Israel!
Our leaders need to remember that we are watching them and we need to remember that God is watching us.
The time to speak out for Israel is now! Please register today for CUFI's 2012 DC Summit.

The Union League of Philadelphia
Luncheon: 12:00 - 1:30PM

After years of obeying our parents, we are programmed to think that anytime there is a problem, whether it's companies going bankrupt or schools keeping kids stupid, government action is the way to solve it. Using his decades of reporting, Stossel tackles how those intuitive, knee-jerk reactions lead us astray.
Central planning sounds right. It feels good. But it has nothing to do with the realities of economics and science. There is nothing that government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals - and as groups of individuals, working together voluntarily, not at the point of a gun or under threat of a fine. Without big government, our possibilities are limitless.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
- Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
- Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
- Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

Good morning Patriots,
We have been working diligently over the past six weeks to hold our Hands Off Our Healthcare rally which was an amazing success. Thanks to everyone who joined us in this effort. I wanted to let you know we have our work cut out for us here in Pennsylvania. Governor Corbett has accepted $34 million in federal dollars to implement an Obama Health Insurance Exchange. We are opposed to the implementation of Obamacare here in the Commonwealth. We are travelling the state conducting educational seminars on why Governor Corbett should not implement this state health exchange. If you would like us to come present to your organization email me directly. We would be happy to come out to your town.
Also, do you have members or friends who are newly elected school board members? Or do they attend these meetings and do not know what questions to ask or how to shine the light on wasteful spending? Americans for Prosperity Foundation and the newly formed Pennsylvania School Board Coalition will be holding seminars on the ABC's of School Budgets, Using Social Media and Blogs to Control the Narrative and Giving You the Key to the Castle: Where's the Waste? PSBC is filling the void for the Pennsylvania School Board Association. Again, if you would like to hold a seminar please email me directly.
Thank you for all you do for liberty!

Federal Legislative Update For the week of April 2nd
Please Note: There will be no Legislative Update next week given that both the House and the Senate are out of session for two weeks. The next Legislative Update will come on Monday, April 16th. Below is a summary of this week's activity on Capitol Hill. For more in-depth info on current issues, please check out the resources in the "Issues" section of the AFP website. As a reminder, this update is meant for internal staff use only and is not for distribution. In Focus: Ryan Blueprint Passes, Budget Process Moves Forward in the House - On Thursday the House passed H.Con.Res. 112, Paul Ryan's budget resolution for fiscal year 2013. The vote was 228-191, with all but 10 Republicans (but no Democrats) voting in favor. The conservative alternative put forward by the Republican Study Committee failed by a vote of 136-285, but received votes from a majority of House Republicans, better than last year.
- This is an important victory, but remember that it is only the beginning of the fight. Within the federal budget process a budget resolution is merely a non-binding blueprint for budget debates throughout the year. None of the discretionary spending cuts called for in the bill, for example, will actually take effect unless Members on the appropriations committee stick to the Ryan levels. Those appropriations battles will begin around mid-May. AFP will be encouraging our activists to call for spending cuts in each of the 12 appropriations bills.
- However, this year there is another step that comes even before these appropriations battles. According to last summer's debt-ceiling deal, on January 2, 2013 a very large set of automatic spending cuts ("sequestration") are scheduled to take place. Cutting spending is good, but these cuts hack disproportionately at Defense spending, much to the chagrin of many conservatives. The Ryan budget "turns off" this sequestration and replaces it with cuts elsewhere in the federal budget. He has tasked six authorizing committees (Agriculture, Energy & Commerce, Financial Services, Judiciary, Oversight & Government Reform, and Ways & Means) with finding billions of dollars of spending cuts in the various programs they oversee by May 1st. We'll be watching closely and urging Members of those committees to stick to the cuts they agreed to when they passed the Ryan budget.
Last Week Recap: House - On Tuesday the House passed the Senate-amended version of the JOBS Act, which reduces regulatory burdens currently preventing small businesses and startups from raising capital or going public. The bill is now sitting on President Obama's desk and he is expected to sign it.
- Also on Tuesday, the House passed a bill to reform the regulatory rulemaking process at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The vote was 247-174. Among other things, the bill ensures that rules may not be voted on by commissioners behind closed doors and ensures market factors are taken into account for proposed new rules.
- As mentioned above, on Thursday the House passed Paul Ryan's budget resolution by a vote of 228-191.
- On Thursday the House also passed a three-month extension for federal transportation programs (the highway bill) so that negotiations can continue between the House and the Senate on a long-term reauthorization. The new deadline is June 30, 2012.
Senate - The Senate spent the week debating the Repeal Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act, S. 2204 introduced by Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ). The bill targets oil and natural gas companies for tax hikes and uses the additional revenues generated to "pay for" a slew of special handouts for renewable and "green" energy sources. Republicans spent the week hammering Democrats for trying to raise taxes on energy producers at a time when gasoline prices are climbing rapidly. AFP issued an action alert early in the week. The bill failed to clear a procedural hurdle on Thursday.
- The Senate also agreed to a 90-day extension of the highway bill by a voice vote, and President Obama signed the extension into law on Friday.
Highlights for This Week: House - The House is not in session this week or next, returning to action on April 16th.
Senate - The Senate is not in session this week or next, returning to action on April 16th.

1. Testing the Media's Testicular Fortitude
According to America's top Constitutional Law Professor turned President of the United States, the Supreme Court should not overturn "a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected congress."
What about the people, acting through the democratic process, to amend their own constitution?
I ask because in California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled it unconstitutional for the people of California to amend their constitution to prohibit gay marriage. Most damning, the Ninth Circuit's opinion pretty clearly says that when judges act and the people choose to amend their constitution in response, such an amendment is unconstitutional.
Will anyone in the media ask the President if, based on his logic about the Supreme Court, he supports the voters in California who sought to pass Proposition 8?
"No, no," he might try to retreat. "I'm talking about when the Supreme Court tries to rein in rights."
Well then, does the President believe government funded health care is a right?
Likewise, does the President support the legislatures of the several states enacting Voter ID laws through a democratically elected legislature?
But wait . . . there are more questions the media should ask the President if we're going to hold everyone accountable for their words and not just Republicans.
2. President Obama Goes on Record Opposing Marbury v. Madison For a guy who graduated from Harvard Law, Barack Obama is not really very well versed on his law or his legal history. Speaking out today about the Supreme Court's review of Obamacare, Obama offered this stunning and completely ahistorical nugget: "Ultimately, I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected congress." Look, I'm not here to debate the finer points of Marbury v. 3. Trayvon Martin Story Destroys Last of Media's Credibility I don't really know what happened between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin. What I do know is that this story has resulted in at least one homicide - the self-inflicted homicide of the media's last shreds of credibility. And it isn't just conservative blogs that are noticing - even straight news sources have begun to notice the shame with which the media has covered itself during this entire sad saga. The Washington Post reported Friday that NBC's egregious editing of Zimmerman's 911 call will be "internally reviewed," which is as close as you will ever get to an admission of a very serious screw up from a major news organization. The most stunning admission yet came from something called a Touré, which is apparently an MSNBC contributor. Touré apparently got tired of being on a television channel no one watches so he went on Piers Morgan last week to take Piers to task for the journalistic crime of getting both sides of the story.

Invite all your liberal friends to a Tax Freedom Day party.
Remind them that this is the first day of the year in which the money they work for goes into their own pockets rather than into Big Government's gaping, insatiable maw. In 2010 Tax Freedom Day fell on April 9. In 1900 it fell on January 22.

The Highest Taxes in the World
There aren't many American-owned companies more iconic than Anheuser-Busch, the famous producer of Budweiser beer based in St. Louis, Missouri. That was true up until 2008, when the Brazilian-Belgian company InBev executed a hostile takeover of the historic brewer, leading to layoffs of more than 1,800 workers. Unfortunately, conditions in the United States are growing ripe for even more takeovers like these to occur, especially now that the nation's corporate tax rate is officially the highest in the world.
As of yesterday, the U.S. corporate tax rate of 39.2 percent claimed the world's top spot, edging out Japan which recently lowered its rate from 39.5 percent to 36.8 percent. (The U.S. rate includes the 35 percent federal rate plus the average rate the states add on.) That's well above the 25 percent average of other developed nations. Heritage's Curtis Dubay explains the impact on companies based in the United States:

Sent out to all our Tea Party folks & others.....please forward to yours
Patriots,
SAM ROHRER NEEDS YOUR HELP IN SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT HIS CANDIDACY FOR U.S. SENATE in the Republican Primary on April 24.
PLEASE PRINT the FAITH & FREEDOM LETTER attached addressed to Pastors and GIVE TO YOUR PASTOR (and other pastors in your area) THIS WEEK. Let him know of Sam's Christian character and integrity in office. Ask if there is any avenue by which he and/or you could let the church folks know of Sam (email, flyers in lobby, post a flyer on a bulletin board, church bulletin?).
I also gave our pastor the handout on the Life, Marriage, and Educaton policies Sam supported. How about printing out enough copies of this handout for your Sunday School group and/or handing them out to your friends at your child's private school or in Bible study, Awanas, or prayer groups?
Know any homeschoolers? The Michael Farris letter is specifically directed to homeschoolers, but also reminds us of Sam's record as a Constitutionalist and the importance of this race and our involvement.
Please forward the message below with the attached flyers to all pro-life, people of faith and traditional values, Christian school parents, and homeschoolers you know. Thank you for supporting this courageous champion of liberty, Jaime
During his time in office, there was no greater champion of morality, the protection of life and the family, religious liberty, school choice, and homeschooling than SAM ROHRER.....Please read the attached letters of endorsement and information sheets and pass them on. Also, watch the video clips in the links below to hear of Sam's stand on life, freedom, and faith in his own words.
Check out Sam's great website at www.rohrerforsenate.org for more information. To support Sam's election effort, follow the links on his website to donate or volunteer your time (making calls from home, passing out literature, putting up signs, and/or passing out info at the polls). Please spread the word to all your friends and family.

Resources on 2nd & 10th Amendments for Rohrer outreach to Gun and Fish & Game clubs, gunshops, Constitutionalists
To: Patriots for Sam!
Please pass this on.....
With this great endorsement from Gunowners Of America (see attachment), gun owners and outdoorsmen, with their natural bent toward constitutional rights, are almost a given for Sam IF THEY HEAR ABOUT HIM - - MANY STILL HAVE NOT. NOW IS THE TIME to find out through friends or local gun shops when the local gun and F&G clubs have their monthly meetings.
Schedule now a visit to clubs who still have one meeting before April 24th; or convince a friend who is a member to speak for Sam at the club if you can't be there; or ask the president if he would mention Sam and pass the flyers around - they are usually very willing. The attached letter of endorsement from Gunowners Of America is very convincing, focusing on 2nd amendment and 10th amendment. Also, I would give him your contact info for any of his members that want to volunteer for Sam.
Following are a couple of good video clips from Sam's 2010 speeches to forward to people who care about these issues. Ask the Gun/Fish & Game club officers if you can forward informational emails on SAM to their email network, then send the GOA letter, along with these video links. Watch these yourself: Sam's GREAT responses will convince any gunowner that he fundamentally understands and believes in the Second Amendment and the clips are short.
And don't forget the gun shops in your area: drop off a Sam flyer to post there (Legislative checklist flyer is good too)
Also, we want to encourage anyone to whom we give info to go to his website, www.rohrerforsenate.org where they can find links to sign up to get email updates from the campaign, to volunteer (we NEED poll workers), and to donate. Jaime

Judging from the progress that anti-Israel "Lawfare" and pro-Shari'a movements have made in advancing the "Palestinian Cause" and Shari'a compliant programs in a distressingly vast array of our society's institutions over the past decade, one must conclude that the Muslim jihadist forces working to infiltrate our society are winning.

 | Daniel Pipes - Religious Minorities in an increasingly intolerant Middle East |
Why the President Should Speak Out Against Religious Persecution
By Raymond Ibrahim
On January 24, during his State of the Union Address, the president of the United States has a chance to expose the plight of religious minorities living in Muslim majority nations. Doing so would not merely shed light on one of the most ignored humanitarian crises of the 21st century; it would help alleviate it.
Why should the president speak up on the oppression of religious minorities? For starters, because it is the right thing to do, and reflects American values and principles.
He should speak up because religious cleansing is currently underway in nations like Nigeria, where Boko Haram-"Western Education is Forbidden"-and other Islamic groups have declared jihad on the Christian minorities of the north, killing and displacing thousands, burning and bombing hundreds of churches, most notoriously this last Christmas, where over forty people were killed while celebrating Christmas mass. Since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, about half of Iraq's one million Christians have been forced by targeted violence to flee their homeland.
He should speak up because churches are constantly being attacked, burned, or forced into closure, not just in Nigeria and Iraq, but in Afghanistan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia (click on country-links for the most recent examples). In Egypt alone, after several churches were burned, thousands of Christian Copts gathered to demonstrate-only to be slaughtered by the military, including by being run-over by armored vehicles.
He should speak up because Muslim converts to Christianity are regularly ostracized, beaten, killed, or imprisoned-recent examples coming from Algeria, Eritrea, Kashmir, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, and even Western nations. Iran's Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, whose plight actually made it to the mainstream media, is but one of many people imprisoned and tortured for simply following their conscience and converting to Christianity. Uganda offers a typical example: there, a Muslim father locked up his 14-year-old daughter for several months without food or water, simply because she embraced Christianity. She weighed 44 pounds when rescued.
He should speak up because Christian girls are being abducted, raped, and forced to convert to Islam-recent examples coming from Egypt, India, Pakistan, and Sudan. In Pakistan alone, "a 12 year-old Christian [was] gang raped for eight months, forcibly converted and then 'married' to her Muslim attacker." Now that she has escaped, instead of seeing justice done, "the Christian family is in hiding from the rapists and the police." Earlier in Pakistan, a 2-year-old Christian girl was savagely raped and damaged for life because her father refused to convert to Islam.
The U.S. president should speak up because such persecution is not merely performed at the hands of "outraged Muslim mobs," but is institutionalized in many Muslim governments, including those deemed "U.S. friends and allies"-such as Afghanistan, where the last church was recently razed; Egypt, where Islamists, supported by the U.S., openly speak of returning Copts into second-class dhimmi status; and Saudi Arabia, where churches are not permitted, and Bibles and crucifixes are confiscated and destroyed.
He should speak up because there is a pattern, one that is becoming increasingly harder to ignore-one that demonstrates great continuity over the centuries. Past and present, from Morocco in the west, to Pakistan in the east-in countries that do not share race, ethnicity, or language, only a culture permeated with the spirit of Islamic supremacism-non-Muslims suffer.
He should speak out because calling out bullies and cutting out their financial aid is the most effective way to curb their bullying, even as giving in to bullies-or worse, pretending they are not bullies and forcing others to go along-is a sure way to guarantee they continue bullying their minorities.
Perhaps most importantly, the president of the United States should speak out because we live in a day and age where the reality of religious persecution under Islam is so well documented-unlike in the days of former U.S. presidents who may be excused-that to continue ignoring it is tantamount to abetting it. Just as history has recorded the great sufferings of non-Muslims under Islam, so too will it record the complacency or complicity of those who are in a great position to end the persecution, but refuse to do so.

April 2, 2012 "British police go to hell" This video should be a chilling wake-up call for anyone who isn't aware or doesn't believe that radical Islam is gradually undermining the West with its goal of replacing Western laws with sharia. Even if you know what's happening, a video is worth 10,000 words!
As you watch it, ask yourself, "where is the outrage from the vocal, politically correct apologists for radical Islam?" Those same apologists, who excoriate "Christian fundamentalism" or "the Jewish lobby," are generally silent about what you see in this video. Islamic militancy has been on the rise globally for decades. Some call it "the third international jihad"-and it can't be dismissed as merely the actions of a few isolated "extremists." The 1979 Iranian revolution. The riots throughout the Muslim world in response to the Danish cartoons. The proliferation of Islamic terrorist organizations. Over 17,000 Islamic terror incidents recorded just since 9/11. The riots in Afghanistan after the accidental burning of some Qur'ans. The "teddy bear" controversy in Somalia. Jihadist genocide in Sudan. The worldwide protests and fatwa against Salman Rushdie. The rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in the wake of the so-called "Arab Spring." And the list goes on and on.
Meanwhile, many of the textbooks our children and grandchildren study in 6th through 12th grade sanitize the history of Islamic jihad, violence, conquest, oppression and slavery. For example, the textbooks typically don't even accurately identify that the 9/11 terrorists were Muslims acting in the cause of jihad. See for yourself what is being taught. Log on here to review our report, "Education or Indoctrination? The Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th Grade American Textbooks." We hear from supporters across the country who tell us their college-aged or adult children and grandchildren dismiss the threat of radical Islam, believe America is an "imperialistic" nation that has caused many of the world's problems, and regard Israel as an "illegal" nation that is "oppressing" the Palestinians. There's a reason for this-it's what they've been taught in middle school, high school, and college. Find out what is being taught. Find out what you can do about it. Because, to paraphrase George Santayana, if we don't learn from history we'll be condemned to repeat it. |

Christian Blood on Obama's Hands
On Christmas Day of last year, Muslim terrorists set off bombs in churches across Nigeria. It was one of the worst attacks by Boko Haram which is determined to continue its reign of terror until the country is ruled by Muslim law. Christian pastors have been beheaded by Boko Haram and a spokesman for the group has openly stated that their interim goal is "to eradicate Christians from certain parts of the country." The Boko Haram death toll has surpassed a thousand in only a few years. It has killed 250 people this year alone. It draws inspiration from the Taliban, has links to Al-Qaeda and has carried out numerous sophisticated attacks, including multiple car bombings. That leaves one question. Why hasn't Boko Haram been designated a terrorist organization? it has killed more people than some of the organizations on the list and it is dedicated to ethnic cleansing, something that we decided was unacceptable when it came to Muslims. Shouldn't it then be equally unacceptable when it is being done by Muslims to Christians? Apparently not. Johnnie Carson, Obama's Chicago born man in Africa, and the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs at subcommittee hearings chaired by Senator Coons, dismissed the idea of designating Boko Haram a terrorist organization and claimed falsely, that despite Boko Haram's repeated statements about its goals and its very name, that this conflict was not driven by religion, but by social inequities. Questions about Boko Haram's terrorism against Christians were rerouted into what Carson described as a "comprehensive" approach to the problem, sidelining security assistance in favor of providing social aid to the Muslim north and urging the Nigerian government to stop aggressively fighting terrorism. Boko Haram had been inspired by the Taliban and American diplomats are forcefully pushing the Nigerian government into adopting the same disastrous failed "Hearts and Minds" policies of Afghanistan. Instead of combating Boko Haram, we will be increasing funding to the Muslim north and even opening a consulate there. And of course urging Nigeria to appoint more Muslims to high ranking positions. While the subcommittee on Homeland Security has urged that Boko Haram be designated a terrorist group, diplomats in the State Department are doing everything possible to sabotage the effort. The lies are coming fast and thick. In the New York Times, Jean Herskovitz wrote an op-ed insisting that there was no Boko Haram, suggesting instead that random criminal gangs were really responsible for the mass murder of Christians.

WSJ: Fed Buying 61 Percent of US Debt
Wednesday, March 28, 2012
By: Julie Crawshaw and Forrest Jones
The Federal Reserve is propping up the entire U.S. economy by buying 61 percent of the government debt issued by the Treasury Department, a trend that cannot last, Lawrence Goodman, a former Treasury official and current president of the Center for Financial Stability, writes in a Wall Street Journal opinion article published Wednesday.
"Last year the Fed purchased a stunning 61 percent of the total net Treasury issuance, up from negligible amounts prior to the 2008 financial crisis," Goodman writes.
Goodman also warns that U.S. economy and markets are "at risk for a sharp correction" if conditions aren't "normalized."
"This not only creates the false appearance of limitless demand for U.S. debt but also blunts any sense of urgency to reduce supersized budget deficits."

Don't Panic, Republicans

For the last month or two, news coverage has frequently been hysterical. The Republican war on women! Occupy the 1%! Ryan's budget pushes Grandma over a cliff! Again! Trayvon Martin! The Republican war on hoodies! To some extent, of course, the hysteria is intended to stir up the Democrats' base. But I think it is also intended to demoralize and confuse Republicans, and throw us off our game. Thus we see, for example, the widely-trumpeted USA Today/Gallup swing-state poll that purports to show women stampeding to the Democratic Party:

(Don't waste your time wondering about the carbon footprint for all the folks who jetted in for it; I'm sure they bought carbon offsets.) Naturally, the focus of the conference was on proclaiming the "planetary boundaries" to growth. Just in case you've forgotten the scratchy grooves, here's the opener of the State of the Planet Declaration: Read More . . . Whatever Happened to Growth Liberalism? Posted: 02 Apr 2012 08:25 AM PDT (Steven Hayward) Quick, what quack said this: "There is a point at which in peace times high rates of income and profits taxes destroy energy, remove the incentive to new enterprise, encourage extravagant expenditures and produce industrial stagnation with consequent unemployment and other attendant evils." The answer is (drum roll please): Woodrow Wilson! He's not a guy who said very many sensible things in his time. To the contrary, as a certain new book argues, the guy was a terrible president, and the author of much of what is wrong with modern American liberalism. But like John F. Kennedy decades later, he understood that economic growth is important, and that punitive tax rates hinder growth. In fact, concerning Kennedy, let's go to the tape, as they say, and recall this 1961 speech: Read More . . . Dubious donations (2012 edition) Posted: 02 Apr 2012 05:57 AM PDT (Scott Johnson) Barack Obama has proved the greatest campaign fund-raiser of all time by a long shot. In 2008 his campaign raised more than $750 million. The Obama campaign even went the extra mile to raise campaign funds by failing to adopt standard protections against fraudulent and illegal giving. Federal law prohibits foreign contributions and requires the disclosure of identifying information for contributions in excess of $200. Campaigns must accordingly keep running totals for each donor and report them once they exceed $200. As we and others noted, the 2008 Obama campaign's records revealed big contributors with names like "Doodad Pro" (employer: "Loving," profession: "You") and "Good Will" (same employer and profession). Both donated via credit card. I believe it was Pamela Geller who reported that some donations came from overseas - raising the question of whether Obama was accepting donations from foreigners. Monday, April 2, 2012 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 218 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS Left Threatens Supreme Court The extremist left is in full-fledged panic mode over the fate of ObamaCare. You can tell because leading liberal politicians like New York Senator Chuck Schumer and the left's flagship newspaper, the New York Times, aren't even waiting until the decision is announced in June to attack the court. The left is launching a pre-emptive strike now, no doubt hoping to help a justice or two (Anthony Kennedy and Chief Justice John Roberts) further "evolve" into the job -- if they want the press and law journals to look favorably upon their tenure on the high court. Consider this excerpt from a weekend Times editorial:
"If the conservatives decide that they can sidestep the Constitution to negate Congress's choices on crucial national policies, the court's legitimacy ... will pay a very heavy price. Chief Justice Roberts has the opportunity to avoid this disastrous outcome by forging even a narrow ruling to uphold the mandate and the rest of the law. A split court striking down the act will be declaring itself virtually unfettered by the law. And if that happens along party lines, with five Republican-appointed justices supporting the challenge led by 26 Republican governors, the court will mark itself as driven by politics."
What utter hogwash! Of course only a conservative ruling "sidesteps the Constitution" and threatens "the court's legitimacy." Notice the not-so-subtle hint to Chief Justice Roberts to uphold the mandate -- for the court's own good. And it's not all political if the court's four liberal justices vote to uphold ObamaCare. If the court's majority just happens to side with the 26 Republican-led states suing to overturn the law, that does not make the decision political. It simply means that Republicans likely have a better understanding of the Constitution than Democrats do, and that's obvious. Many on the left don't care about the Constitution. Some even admit it. Others say it's old and confusing. Some, like our president, complain that the Constitution doesn't say what government MUST do for you, which completely misses the point. But only committed socialists believe Big Government has all the answers! Senator Schumer, one of the top messaging gurus for congressional Democrats, is doing his best to box the court in politically as well. "Should the Supreme Court overturn this law," Schumer said on Meet The Press yesterday, "it would be so far out of the mainstream that the court would be the most activist in a century." Sen. Schumer is a smart man. He knows full well that that statement is false. But he is trying to convince people that the only acceptable outcome is one that upholds ObamaCare. Senator Schumer has his work cut out for him. A recent Gallup poll found that 72% of Americans, including 56% of Democrats, believe that ObamaCare's individual mandate is unconstitutional. The Wall Street Journal brilliantly dismantled the left's attack on the Supreme Court in its own editorial yesterday. The Journal also noted how the left reacted in horror when Newt Gingrich recently suggested that judges be hauled before Congress to explain their decisions. The left was universally outraged at Gingrich's alleged affront to judicial independence. But Gingrich merely wanted the judges to explain themselves. Senator Schumer and the New York Times are clearly assaulting judicial independence and separation of powers by demanding a specific outcome that meets their ideological litmus test. Media Malpractice Speaking of prejudging cases to fit ideological litmus tests, America's left-wing media should be ashamed for its rush to convict George Zimmerman without the benefit of a trial. Last week, ABC News ran a story based on surveillance video of Zimmerman arriving at the Sanford, Florida, police station the night Trayvon Martin was shot. The report noted, "In the video an officer is seen pausing to look at the back of Zimmerman's head, but no abrasions or blood can be seen in the video." This report was seized upon by many commentators as evidence that Zimmerman had lied and the police covered up for him. Craig Sonner, Zimmerman's attorney, was grilled about the video. He said, "I'm not going to litigate this case in the media. ... I can't tell anything from this video." Not to be outdone, NBC ran a story featuring a portion of Zimmerman's 911 call that portrayed him as a racist: "This guy looks like he's up to no good. ... He looks black." The implication being that by virtue of being black, Zimmerman automatically assumed Martin was "up to no good." Well, here are the facts: ABC re-digitized the video and was forced to run a segment on "Good Morning America" today which showed "what appear to be a pair of gashes or welts on George Zimmerman's head." NBC is now in the midst of an "internal investigation" after Breitbart.com published the unedited transcript of Zimmerman's 911 call. Here is the relevant portion:
"ZIMMERMAN: This guy looks like he's up to no good, or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about. 911 DISPATCHER: Okay, is this guy, is he white, black, or Hispanic? ZIMMERMAN: He looks black."
Clearly, Zimmerman was answering the dispatcher's question. He did not equate Martin's race with "being up to no good." Do you recall the Duke lacrosse rape case? Evan Thomas revealed the left-wing mindset when he remarked, "The narrative was right, but the facts were wrong." Whether it's domestic issues or foreign policy, the left always sees the worst in America. I repeat: I have no idea what happened on that tragic night between Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman, and neither do most others. But I do know this is a nation of laws, and I have no doubt that this shooting is being used by the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to stoke racial discord. By the way, where is the outrage over Shawn Tyson? Read my latest Human Events column to learn more. We're #1 -- And Not In A Good Way This weekend Japan cut its corporate tax rate, meaning that America now has the highest corporate tax rate in the world at 39.2%, which combines state and federal taxes. Consider this excerpt from the Tax Foundation:
"There have been 133 major corporate tax cuts globally since 2006. Indeed, between 2006 and 2010 alone, more than 75 countries cut their corporate tax rates -- some more than once. ...2012 marks the 21st year in which the U.S. corporate tax rate has been above the simple average of OECD nations. ...Taking the recent Canadian, British, and Japanese rate cuts into account, the weighted average of the G-7 nations is now below 32 percent -- three percentage points lower than the federal U.S. rate alone and seven points below the combined U.S. rate."
And how exactly does this help America remain competitive and create jobs in an increasingly global marketplace? Who Said That? Who said the following: "I get up every morning thinking, today I'm gonna make a difference. Today I'm gonna end capitalism. Today I'm gonna make a revolution." Did you guess Karl Marx? Marx certainly believed that, but the quote belongs to Bill Ayers, an unrepentant 60s radical and domestic terrorist. Why is this Ayers quote relevant? Because Barack Obama launched his political career in Bill Ayers' home! "But, Bauer, that's guilt by association," some might say. No, it's guilt by participation. Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Derrick Bell, ACORN, the socialist New Party -- these are individuals and organizations Barack Obama willingly associated with because they all shared common values -- values that most Americans would consider bizarre and extreme.

OBAMA IS THE PRESIDENT OF SOME AMERICANS GrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary By Don Feder 04/02/2012 The Obama presented to voters during the 2008 campaign -- the post-racial healer, the leader who could bridge the partisan gap and unite us -- was a lie: a carefully crafted façade (complete with fake Greek pillars) to hide a radical determined to remake America in his image. Obama isn't the president of the American people, but of his people. Never has a president had more contempt for the majority of those he governs. He's the president of aggrieved minorities (and white proponents of "racial justice"), not of Americans who think in terms of justice, not race. He's the president of feminists, not Catholics or women who marry, raise children and keep humanity going. He's the president of public-employee unions, not the taxpayers they feed on. He's the president of the global-warming, carbon-foot-print, green-jobs crowd, not motorists who are bleeding at the pump and those concerned about our dependence on foreign oil. He's the president of Muslims, not of Christians and Jews. He's the president of gay activists, not family advocates and those who are fighting the deconstruction of marriage. Obama can run for reelection, but he can't hide from himself. His reaction to the Trayvon Martin case was, well, so him. "If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon," the president said of the 17-year-old shot and killed in Florida. What does it matter who Trayvon Martin looked like? If he resembled one of Mitt Romney's sons, would the president even care? Does he care about the 300 Americans murdered each week, where killer and victim frequently resemble him? Obama's unspoken message: "Trayvon was a person of color, like me, who was killed by a man who looks white (but is actually a mixed-race Hispanic), because America is a nation of gun-toting racists where it's open season on black men." During the 2008 campaign, Frau Obama informed us that, "as a black man...Barack can get shot for going to the gas station." And that was before the price at the pump hit $3.80 a gallon, thanks to his radical environmentalist policies. Like his mentor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Obama believes, "Racism is how this country was founded and how it still runs." After his friend, Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates was arrested for getting belligerent with Cambridge cops investigating a possible break-in, the president said the police "behaved stupidly." This was followed by one of Obama's classic America-the-not-so-hot homilies, "There's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law-enforcement disproportionately" -- also known as the legacy of disproportionate stopping. As if to balance the books, Obama's Justice Department refused to prosecute New Black Panther Party leaders for a clear case of voter intimidation in the 2008 election. (The Black Panthers just offered a $10,000 bounty for the "capture" of George Zimerman, the Florida shooter.) The Justice Department opened an investigation of Zimmerman for civil rights violations, before all of the facts are known, but refuses to take any action against the NBP lynch mob. This is what passes for justice in post-racial Obama-land. The president shows concern selectively. If he had a white daughter who was a whiny "reproductive rights" crusader, she'd probably look like Sandra Fluke. Obama placed a phone call to the Georgetown Law student, after Rush Limbaugh said mean things about her, after she told a "hearing" staged by Nancy Pelosi that the Catholic institution should be forced to provide her with contraceptives through its student health plan. In Obama's world, sexually active single woman have a right to their contraceptives and morning-after abortion pills, paid for by someone else. Catholics and evangelicals have no right to freedom of conscience, but must be forced to violate the tenets of their faith by facilitating pre-marital sex and abortion. Last month, the AFL-CIO "enthusiastically" endorsed Obama's reelection bid. This was as unexpected as Boston Mayor Tom Menino's announcement that he was rooting for the New England Patriots in the AFC championship. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the Service Employees International Union and the National Education Association all announced they were backing Obama late last year. Consider Obama's words in support of striking Wisconsin public workers in 2011: "I don't think it does anybody any good when public employees are denigrated or vilified or their rights are infringed upon." Denigration, vilification and rights-infringement are here defined as asking public workers to pay more toward their health insurance and lavish pensions. Public employees, the pampered pets of the Democratic Party, don't work for us. We work for them. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, last year, the average public employee earned 26.3% more than his private-sector counterpart in salary and benefits. In Wisconsin, focus of public-slug indignation, between 2001 and 2010, tax-serfs were forced to contribute $48 billion to state-employee health plans, compared to the $398 million, or 5% of the total, the dedicated public servants kicked in themselves. Badger State public workers contributed even less (.5%) toward their pensions. In the real world, 80% of employees don't even get a pension. This year, the AFL-CIO, AFSCME, SEIU and the rest will contribute hundreds of millions to Democratic candidates. As far as Obama is concerned, the nation's tax-serfs could be hitched to a plow for 14-hours a day to pay salaries and benefits of the public employees in the plantation house. When Barack Obama took office, the price of gas was $1.85 a gallon. Now, it's around $3.80. Not my fault... prices fluctuate ... Arab Spring ... fighting in Iraq ... uh, uh, excess profits of oil companies, the president blathers. This is a president who says no to the Keystone XL Pipeline (which would have delivered 70,000 barrels a day to this country), but is planning to spend $14 million to develop algae-based bio-fuels. Solyndra si, drilling no. Thus far this year, 23% of all proposed drilling plans have been approved, compared to an historical average of 73%. Obama's energy policy could be the result of total incompetence (never to be discounted in regard to the messiah-in-chief), or it could be deliberate. Regarding energy prices, candidate Obama told us, "I think it is important for us to send some price signals, to change behavior." This is lib-speak for: "If we force the consumer-pigs to pay more for gas, electricity, etc., they'll use less." Future Energy Secretary Steven Chu told The Wall Street Journal he'd like to see European-level gas prices, to drive Americans to alternative energy sources. Chu now says he no longer believes that - as if he has a choice. Candidate Obama again: "We can't drive our SUVs ... and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times...and then expect that other countries are going to say OK." Obama cares about Al Gore's fantasies, not the family forced to pay $50 to fill its SUV. He cares about carbon footprints, not the commuter whose monthly gas bill is beginning to look like the tab for one of the First Couple's date nights. Turning reality on its head - and spinning it like a whirling dervish - in a 2009 speech to the Turkish parliament, the president said Americans "do not consider ourselves a Christian nation," but "we will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much to shape the world - including my own country." Where would terrorism be without it? Imagine Buddhists rushing the pilot's cabin chanting "Ommmmm." Let's see, it says "In Allah We Trust" on our currency. The founding fathers had names like Mohammed and Osama. The anti-slavery and civil-rights movements came out of American mosques. Obama is Ramadan dinners, not National Day of Prayer. "Deep appreciation" equals - Islam can do no wrong, which is why his Defense Department attributed the Fort Hood massacre, perpetrated by a sura-spouting Muslim major, to "work-related stress." In 2010, Barack Hussein went to bat for the Ground Zero mosque. When was the last time he championed construction of a church or synagogue? No wonder 12% of Americans think their president is a Muslim - the same percentage of Democrats as Republicans - according to a 2009 Pew Research survey Homosexuals are another of the president's favorite constituencies. His aides are now hinting that he'll officially back gay marriage after the election - big surprise. Since he became president, Obama has: successfully pushed repeal of the military's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy, announced that the Justice Department will no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act (in violation of his oath to see that laws are faithfully executed), made the federal workplace more gay-friendly and made promoting gay rights abroad a foreign-policy priority. Other than wearing a bra and dancing on top of a flatbed-truck in a gay-pride parade, it's hard to imagine what more Obama could do to wed himself to a group which represents, at most, 2% of the population - who, in his estimation, clearly count for more than the voters of 33 states who've passed constitutional amendments to keep marriage the union of a man and a woman. Hey, I thought Obama liked unions? Like his comments to Russian President Medvedev (when he didn't know the microphone was live), Obama is most revealing when he thinks he's speaking off-the-record - such as at a 2008 San Francisco fundraiser. Obama's view of Middle America, the overwhelming majority of the country, can be summed up by his bitter-clinger comments: In times of economic distress, the hoi-polloi get "bitter" and "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment...." Obama believes the nation he governs is composed of gun nuts, religious fanatics, racists and xenophobes - who look nothing like the son he doesn't have. Barack Obama has no interest in being the president of the slandered majority - other than to reform them by brute force.

The Foundation
"In Europe, charters of liberty have been granted by power. America has set the example ... of charters of power granted by liberty. This revolution in the practice of the world, may, with an honest praise, be pronounced the most triumphant epoch of its history, and the most consoling presage of its happiness." --James Madison
Opinion in Brief
The Constitution of the Left
"Finding herself with a bit of time on her hands, Justice Ginsburg swung by Cairo last month to help out the lads from the Muslim Brotherhood building the new Egypt: 'I would not look to the United States Constitution if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012,' she advised them. Instead, she recommended the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the European Convention on Human Rights. That's why the fate of the republic will come down to a 5-4 vote. Because four-ninths of the constitutional court think the American constitutional order is as déclassé as a 2006 BlackBerry. ... [I]f the establishment wants to invent a new 'right' -- i.e., yet another intrusion by government -- it goes ahead and does so. If it happens to conflict with this year's constitution, they rewrite it. The United States is the only Western nation in which our rulers invoke the Constitution for the purpose of overriding it -- or, at any rate, torturing its language beyond repair. Thus, in [the] debate on whether Obamacare is merely the latest harmless evolution of the interstate-commerce clause, the most learned and highly remunerated jurists in the land chewed over the matter of whether a person, simply by virtue of being born, was participating in a 'market.' Had George III shown up at the Constitutional Convention to advance that argument with a straight face, the framers would have tossed aside the quill feathers and reached for their muskets." --columnist Mark Steyn

Essential Liberty
"Liberal commentators were shocked this past week when in three days of oral argument in the lawsuits challenging Obamacare, five Supreme Court justices -- a majority -- asked questions strongly suggesting they think the legislation is unconstitutional. ... [T]he justices are not the only federal officials who take an oath to uphold the Constitution. So do the president and vice president, Cabinet members and other appointees, and every member of Congress. ... That means that every federal official has an obligation to act in line with the Constitution as he or she understands it. And that doesn't necessarily mean obeying Supreme Court decisions. ... Clearly the two parties are divided on the constitutionality of the Obamacare mandate. Polls have shown large majorities of voters think the provision is unconstitutional, though one can wonder whether many have given the matter much thought. But they're certainly giving it more thought after this week and will likely give it more when the decision comes down. Voters can reasonably ask candidates for Congress their views on this and other constitutional issues and call on them to vote against measures they consider beyond Congress' constitutional powers." --political analyst Michael Barone
Government
"'I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared,' Thomas Jefferson once wrote. 'To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.' ... Remember the clash on Capitol Hill last year over raising the debt ceiling? It may have seemed like a huge battle at the time, but it was merely a holding action -- a rear-guard maneuver to buy a little time. Because which direction has federal spending gone since then? Up, of course, soaring toward new record levels and endangering our economic future. ... [M]any lawmakers seem content to make meaningless trims, not serious cuts. They act as if we can allow Social Security and Medicare spending to continue growing -- and growing -- on autopilot. They seriously think we can slash defense spending, yet continue fielding a world-class military. ... No, you and I aren't paying enough, that's the problem -- or so we're told. As if past tax hikes haven't proved, time and again, that government will quickly consume any additional funds, and then some. ... 'We must make our choice between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude,' Jefferson writes. 'If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy.' Lawmakers should heed the words of our third president -- and have the courage to steer us off the path of financial misery." --Heritage Foundation president Ed Fuelner
The Gipper
"This is the real task before us: to reassert our commitment as a nation to a law higher than our own, to renew our spiritual strength. Only by building a wall of such spiritual resolve can we, as a free people, hope to protect our own heritage and make it someday the birthright of all men." --Ronald Reagan
Re: The Left
"Once again [last] week, the president was out on the campaign trail bashing and oil and gas companies. And he continued to spread major falsehoods about this industry, which I guess is the polite way to put it. Obama is obsessed with oil and gas. He is a prisoner of the left-wing environmental groups. And really, he's extending his leftist class-warfare attack from rich people to successful oil and gas producers. What seems to have Obama especially steamed is the fact that the conventional-energy companies are profitable. Especially the five largest. So he wants to tax them. He then wants to redistribute their income to his favorite green-energy firms. Sound familiar? I don't know which is more important to the president -- the fact that he hates fossil fuel or the fact that he hates success. ... But President Obama is too busy spewing falsehoods to support his ideological agenda than to take account of the facts. And while he's at it, one of the greatest, pro-growth revolutions ever is taking place right under his nose. It's the oil and gas shale miracle, which if left unfettered will turn America and Canada into an energy-independent New Middle East inside of 10 years. ... Obama should quit the demagoguery, stop bashing oil and gas, stop taxing success and let our ingenious, creative, free-enterprise private economy spur America to a new generation of prosperity." --economist Larry Kudlow
Political Futures
"Obama is telling the Russians not to worry, that once past 'my last election' and no longer subject to any electoral accountability, he'll show 'more flexibility' on missile defense. It's yet another accommodation to advance his cherished Russia 'reset' policy. Why? Hasn't reset been failure enough? Let's do the accounting. In addition to canceling the Polish/Czech missile defense system, Obama gave the Russians accession to the World Trade Organization, a START treaty that they need and we don't ... and a scandalously blind eye to their violations of human rights and dismantling of democracy. Obama even gave Putin a congratulatory call for winning his phony election. In return? Russia consistently watered down or obstructed sanctions on Iran, completed Iran's nuclear reactor at Bushehr, provides to this day Bashar al-Assad with huge arms shipments used to massacre his own people..., conducted a virulently anti-American presidential campaign on behalf of Putin, pressured Eastern Europe and threatened Georgia. On which of 'all these issues' -- Syria, Iran, Eastern Europe, Georgia, human rights -- is Obama ready to offer Putin yet more flexibility as soon as he gets past his last election? Where else will he show U.S. adversaries more flexibility?" --columnist Charles Krauthammer

"Abortion is a feminist sacrament. The movie 'October Baby' just debuted on 390 screens and registered in eighth place [last] weekend, with an estimated $1.7 million gross. ... Naturally, the critics just couldn't judge this movie by artistic standards. It had to be savaged because it is so politically incorrect. New York Times film critic Jeannette Catsoulis bared her ideological fangs at this improbable movie: 'Not even a dewy heroine and a youth-friendly vibe can disguise the essential ugliness at its core: like the bloodied placards brandished by demonstrators outside women's health clinics, the film communicates in the language of guilt and fear.' Ouch. A celebration of life is 'essential ugliness.' ... Notice how the Times couldn't focus on the movie without imagining the horror of conservative state legislators reducing a 'woman's dominion' over the termination of unborn children, no matter how advanced the pregnancy. ... But if you do consider abortion a crime -- against God -- isn't that the kind of compassionate message Hollywood preaches regularly? Such is the militancy of this issue in Hollywood." --columnist L. "The former Charleston, S.C., black chief of police, Reuben Greenberg, said the problem facing black America is not racial profiling. He said, 'The greatest problem in the black community is the tolerance for high levels of criminality.' Former Los Angeles black police Chief Bernard Parks, defending racial profiling, said: 'It's not the fault of the police when they stop minority males or put them in jail. It's the fault of the minority males for committing the crime. In my mind, it is not a great revelation that if officers are looking for criminal activity, they're going to look at the kind of people who are listed on crime reports.' Are former police Chiefs Greenberg and Parks racist? According to the Uniform Crime Report for 2009, among people 18 or younger, blacks were charged with 58 percent of murder and non-negligent manslaughter, 67 percent of robberies, 42 percent of aggravated assaults and 43 percent of auto thefts. As for murder, more than 90 percent of the time, their victims were black. These statistics, showing a strong interconnection among race, youth and crime, are a far better explanation for racial profiling and suspicion than simple racism." --economist Walter E. Williams

The general public -- which includes the lamestream media -- likes 'free stuff' and they have no clue that 'free stuff' is not free. And when it is made 'free' its quality and availability will suffer -- and so will we." --Grant
The Last Word
"[I]t sure would be intellectually honest if more people started framing their arguments in the terms, 'I don't like freedom on this issue and here is why...' You pretty much never see that. I mean, gun control is an anti-freedom stance, but they never argue it that way. I think maybe that's why they don't understand how unpopular their stance is. The same thing with the health care debate. The mandate is an anti-freedom stance, but they try to say they're for more freedom by ending worries about health care, which is BS. One thing is freedom and one thing isn't; it's not debatable. Putting a gun to someone's head and saying,'You must buy health insurance!' isn't freedom and no one should pretend it is. It's okay to take an anti-freedom stance, you just should frame it [in] terms of why you think your ideas are better than liberty. And that will probably also help you understand why so many people don't like your views, as the left always seems to get caught off guard by that." --humorist Frank J. Fleming

Manipulating The Media With Al Sharpton

Sharpton Explains How He Manipulates Media On Race Cases By Larry O'Connor Breitbart.com
Earlier today, MSNBC's Al Sharpton threatened the peace of a small Florida town if it doesn't acquiesce to his demand for the arrest of George Zimmerman. If only someone had warned NBC News that they were giving a prime-time platform to a vitriolic, race-hustling charlatan. Oh wait--we did. Even some journalists on the left did. Recently uncovered video from over twenty years ago has Al Sharpton, in his own words, bragging about his ability to manipulate the media to draw attention to his race-hustling agenda. And he's playing out his blueprint to a T in Florida today.

Overplaying the Hate Card
This column by ACRU Senior Fellow Robert Knight was published March 30, 2012 in The Washington Times.
If Oscars were awarded for liberal hysteria, California's Rep. Barbara Lee would be a perennial contender. On Tuesday, at a congressional forum on the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, Ms. Lee proclaimed that it was the result of "a toxic and deadly mix." "While this issue has shocked American culture, it hasn't shocked me," she said in a press statement. "The combination of the powerful gun lobby, racial profiling and hate crimes makes this local matter one of national attention." Who knew that the alleged shooter (did you notice how fast the word "alleged" disappeared in news reports?), neighborhood watch member George Zimmerman, was possessed by all those evil spirits when he began following Mr. Martin before the tragic confrontation on Feb. 26? Or that people who defend the Second Amendment are somehow responsible?

From Hugs to Hand-Wringing: Watching the Legal Left Freak Out at the Supreme Court
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published April 1, 2012 on Breitbart.com. Over the past several years, I've been to the Supreme Court dozens of times to cover cases. Some of them have been blockbusters such as the Citizens United v. FEC campaign finance case, the Snyder v. Phelps (crazy Westboro protesters) free speech case, and the McDonald v. Chicago Second Amendment case. Yet the Obamacare case is in a class by itself. There were national heavyweights in the courtroom each of the three days, but it was the red-carpet crowd on Tuesday for the individual mandate argument that drew a who's-who of the national elite. From President Obama's Cabinet, there was Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary Kathleen Sebelius of the Department of Health and Human Services. From Congress, I saw at least six senators, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and a number of House members.

Obamacare Day 3: Does Medicaid Expansion Violate 10th Amendment?
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published March 31, 2012 on Breitbart.com.
For a century, legal scholars wondered if a federal spending program could ever violate the 10th Amendment by coercing the states to go along, since the states are sovereign and equal in stature to the federal government. The final issue the Supreme Court will decide is whether Obamacare's massive expansion of Medicaid--and sticking the states with part of the price tag--is the first program to cross this constitutional limit. As Paul Clement--the lawyer representing 26 states in the Obamacare case--summarized to the Court: "The expansion of Medicaid since 1984 is really breathtaking." It went from $21 billion then to $250 billion now, and Obamacare takes it to $330 billion per year. Clement went on to explain that if a state declines to go along with the expansion, Congress decided to empower the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to strip every dollar of Medicaid from the state--not just the expanded funding but the entire system currently covering poor people in that state.

Obamacare Day 3: Court May Strike Down Entire Law, Not Just Mandate
This column by ACRU Senior Legal Analyst Ken Klukowski was published March 28, 2012 on Breitbart.com.
If the Supreme Court strikes down Obamacare's individual mandate (which is very likely after yesterday), will it also strike down President Obama's entire 2,700-page law? The justices signaled they might do so during the third day of Supreme Court arguments. Most of the time when part of a law is invalid, courts "sever" that part from the rest of the law and save the rest. This ruling of "severability" often coincides with the law at issue having a severability clause, where Congress declares that if part of the law is found unconstitutional, a court should save the rest. Courts can sever a law even without such a clause, but it gives the court more latitude because there's no rock-solid indication that Congress wanted that outcome. The Supreme Court has three issues when it comes to Obamacare. It can (1) totally sever the individual mandate section, retaining the other 450 sections; (2) partially sever the mandate, striking down some sections but keeping the rest, or (3) can hold the mandate "totally nonseverable" and strike down the entire Obamacare law.

Washington Post Misleads Readers About Paul Ryan, Tax Rates and Deficits
This column by ACRU General Counsel and Senior Fellow for the Carleson Center for Public Policy (CCPP) Peter Ferrara was published March 29, 2012 on Forbes.com.
The Washington Post proclaimed editorially on March 21, "There is no credible path to deficit reduction without a combination of spending cuts and revenue increases." They insisted that this "is the fundamental failure of the budget blueprint released Tuesday by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan." But this criticism is factually wrong as a matter of simple mathematics. Under CBO's score of the Ryan budget, federal revenues virtually double over the next 10 years from $2.444 trillion today to $4.601 trillion by 2022. That is one whopping revenue increase, roughly $2.2 trillion, which is more than the entire GDP of almost every other country in the world. And we know for certain that the revenue increase will be much more than that. That is because under CBO's simple minded static scoring no credit is given for the extra revenues resulting from increased economic growth due to the proposed tax rate cuts in Ryan's budget.

Ask Your Penn. State Rep. to Oppose Anti-REAL ID LegislationThis new phone call request has been posted in your Action Buffet based on your answers to the Interest Survey. You can find this phone call request by proceeding to http://www.numbersusa.com/phones?ID= 13915 During the week of April 2nd, the Pennsylvania House will vote on SB 354, a bill to prohibit the State from complying with any provision of the federal REAL ID Act. Please ask your State Representative to vote NO on this bill. Background Part of the REAL ID Act addresses secure driver's license rules, such as those that will prevent illegal aliens from obtaining licenses. Other parts of the Act address immigration enforcement and border security. These are designed to prevent concerns about terrorists entering the U.S. The proponents of SB 354 are spreading misinformation about REAL ID in their effort to pass the bill. For example, contrary to their claims, REAL ID is not a pre-cursor to a national ID card. In fact, it's the best defense against government forcing a national ID card on citizens. They also claim that REAL ID would create a centralized federal database without any controls. But in reality, each state's DMV would maintain driver information just as they do now. Proponents also say it would cost the state $125 million to implement but Florida, with 6 million more people than Pennsylvania, got it done for $7 million. The REAL ID Act takes effect on January 15, 2013. The Coalition for a Secure Driver's License tells us that the Department of Homeland Security does not plan to extend the compliance deadline even though it has in the past. DHS will issue guidance to states in the next few weeks concerning the necessary steps states must take to meet the deadline. Consequences of Passing SB 354 If this bill passes and Pennsylvania is prohibited from complying with any aspect of REAL ID on 1/13/13: - Pennsylvania driver's licenses will no longer be valid for ID purposes when boarding an airplane or entering a federal building;
- The governor will not be able to adjust state requirements to conform with the upcoming federal guidance;
- Pennsylvania will lose the federal grant for REAL ID implementation, as did Montana, Oklahoma, and Minnesota when they passed similar laws; and
- As nearby states comply with REAL ID, Pennsylvania will become a magnet for identity thieves, professional criminal organizations, and illegal alien smugglers because their standards are lower than compliant states.
Please call your Rep. with the message: "I am a voter in your district who wants you to vote no on SB 354, the anti-REAL ID Act bill. I do not want this bill to block me from using my license to board airplanes. It also will block Pennsylvania from having driver's licenses that help law enforcement protect national security, prevent identity theft, and combat illegal immigration." Additional Talking Points The proponents of SB 354 are spreading misinformation about REAL ID in their effort to pass it. For example, contrary to their claims, REAL ID is not a pre-cursor to a national ID card. In fact, it's the best defense against government forcing a national ID card on citizens. REAL ID does not create a centralized federal database containing personal information about all Americans from which information can be shared without any controls. Each state's DMV would maintain driver information, just as they do now; in fact, states are required under REAL ID to go to extra lengths to ensure the security of their databases. The REAL ID licenses are secured against counterfeiting. The booming business of counterfeiting will continue to thrive if Pennsylvania backpedals now. This will make our state a magnet for identity thieves, professional criminal organizations, and illegal alien smugglers because our standards will be lower than compliant states.

On Monday's Program Tonight on GBTV: Earlier this year Glenn delivered one of his most passionate monologues since he began broadcast television. Tonight, watch as Glenn declares 'I AM MAN.' PLUS, Glenn interviewed GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum and asked him the tough questions the mainstream media has failed to. Find out what he had to say tonight on a "Best of The Glenn Beck Program" at 5pm ET (or available on demand). Real News: While the MSM focuses on a showdown in Wisconsin and a rematch on morning TV (Palin vs. Couric, round 2), they are ignoring the class warfare rhetoric, yet again, coming from the President. Friday in Vermont, President Obama doubled-down on the millionaires tax. He claims, "this is not class warfare or class envy. This is basic math." What did the Real News panel discover after crunching the numbers? Find out tonight at 6pm ET (or on demand). Why is Senator Chuck Grassley waging Twitter war against ...the History Channel? (And more importantly, why is he watching so much TV?) STORY Work ethic: VP Joe Biden says he chose being a Senator over having a 'real job' - STORY

An Invasion is Underway The U.S. is under attack. The enemy moves freely amongst us and even advises the very government bodies established to protect us from just such a threat. They've already smuggled in at least one weapon of mass effect and are working to set up missile bases within striking distance of the homeland. They are here, now, and their goal is singular and quite specific: The downfall of the United States of America. A shocking new documentary, Rumors of War III: Target U.S. provides irrefutable evidence of the attack underway being perpetrated by the likes of the Muslim Brotherhood and Hezbollah. And, the scariest part? It's happening right before our eyes. Want to know why Glenn is Unelectable? Watch this hilarious clip from Glenn's Unelectable II Comedy Tour. Join Glenn for a night that will help get you through the rest of the election season. Glenn will introduce you to the kind of politician that is truly unelectable. Why? Because he tells it like it is-he says the kind of things you wish a candidate would say...the kind of things that would keep him far away from Washington. There will also be lots of Glenn's stories and stand-up, and as always this show is perfect for the whole family. Glenn's coming to Phoenix, San Diego, Oklahoma City and Charleston - get your tickets now before it's too late.
