Occupy messaging is coming straight from Obama... this is NOT an organic movement.
I am a loyal conservative and sickened by what I am seeing coming from this administration. I encourage my friends to read up on Obama's anti-American past and try to educate my people. I have signed up for the Obama website - although I am not supporting him in ANY way - so I can see what the democrats are sending out to their constituency. I recently received an email from MoveOn.org. It was a letter encouraging me to start a movement in my home town of Southlake TX - a largely conservative township of affluent corporate executives. Obviously I will not be spearheading any MOVEMENT other than to get him voted out of office! But what concerns me is that I HAVE NOT SIGNED ON TO ANY OCCUPY WEBSITES or EMAIL lists. Because the only list on that side of the isle that I have signed onto was the Obama supporter website, this tells me that the Occupy movement is coming DIRECTLY FROM THE WHITE HOUSE. They have obviously given their email list to this group to promote protests.
We need to take action and expose Obama for encouraging this bad behavior. These protesters are not doing anything positive for our country, on the contrary, they are costing us a forture in clean up. Obama needs to take responsibility for what he is promoting and causing.
Here is the email that I received:

Beck: Progressive 'Mission Accomplished,'
Now on to Phase II - Communism
The Blaze | by Tiffany Gabbay | Posted on March 20, 2012 at 8:30pm
If one wanted to destroy America, all one would need to do is break the country into parts and chisel away at each segment, bit by bit. Tuesday's episode of The Glenn Beck Program laid out America's core components and described how each one is being undermined and thus, destroyed. But who is doing the destroying?
Glenn contends that those seeking to dismantle the American way are "no longer progressives." Instead, the left has successfully morphed into what it had always intended to be: Full-fledged Communists.
"Progressives can say mission accomplished. Now it's phase two."

Wis. High School Students Drown Out Pro-Union Protesters With Chants of 'Stand With Walker'
The Blaze | by Jonathon M. Seidl | Posted on March 20, 2012 at 8:37am
 | Pro-union protesters performing a sing-a-long in the Wis. state Capitol. |
Usually when the media talks about high school kids at the Wisconsin Capitol it's been about teachers bringing students to protest Wis. Gov. Scott Walker and his budget cuts. But we have some different news to bring you today: during a visit to the Capitol last Thursday, some Wisconsin high school students decided to fight back against the anti-Walker sentiment they were witnessing during an impromptu visit.
In short, students from Sheboygan Lutheran High School decided to stop by the rotunda in Madison while in town for the state high school basketball playoffs. While there, they witnessed protesters signing about unions and solidarity. So they decided to drown them out with pro-walker chants.

From our friend Diana Reimer from Philadelphia Tea Party Patriots
Road to Repeal Rally Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 12pm Upper Senate Park, Washington, DC
Join us on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 12pm in Washington, DC as we begin our journey down the Road to Repeal.
Are you worried about Government run health care? Are you opposed to the Federal government making medical choices for you? Join thousands of patriots who share your views on ObamaCare. Come to Washington, DC and be a part of the Road to Repeal Rally.
A majority of Americans view government run health care as a sign of what's to come from big government. More politics, more control and less personal choice.
Recent decisions by the US Department of Health and Human Services show precisely how government run healthcare will work. The government will make healthcare decisions based on political considerations over the needs of individuals.
Say NO to ObamaCare! Say NO to government managed health care!
ObamaCare is set to be heard by the Supreme Court of the United States March 26-28. If the Supreme Court does not throw this monstrosity out, then the battle for our healthcare continues on into November and January.
Now is the time to act! We need your help to send a strong, clear message to the big government types who are bent on trampling our personal choice and freedom. This is the first stop on the Road to Repeal! We need your help to win this fight and repeal government run health care!
Visit RoadtoRepeal.com to find or list a bus in your area and updates on the event. We look forward to seeing you there.

Saturday, March 31, 9AM-6PM The Kitchen Table Patriots will be participating in Nullify Now Philadelphia! (Click the image above for additional details and to register)
Thomas Jefferson: "Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers.... a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy."
But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it's been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

The Kitchen Table Patriots are joining with a confederation of other Pennsylvania Tea Party, libertarian, conservative, Constitutional, Patriot, and 9-12, organizations to have a consensus on a single candidate that reflects the passion, principles, values and commitment of the grassroots as well as has the acumen and gravitas to beat Senator Bob Casey in November. All the groups would then commit to supporting this one candidate in the primary. Doesn't this sound like an endorsement? Wasn't the KTP opposed to having the PA-GOP endorse a candidate? Are we now hypocrites if we were to express and support a preference of one candidate over another? It sounds like that, but we make these distinctions: - The endorsement by the PA-GOP was not from the ground up; it was imposed from the top down.
- All of the candidates tried to get the PA-GOP endorsement because of the weight it carries.
- That is why we are asking for your input and not speaking on your behalf to these other organizations.
We are asking you to tell us which of these candidates you support. By clicking on their name, an email will be generated to us with your preference. We will then compile the results and submit them to the confederation and when all the groups have spoken, we'll report on the coalition results. We are then asking everyone to support the candidate that wins the coalition support so that we can speak in a single, loud and passionate voice. To that end, we ask you to click on one of the names below which will initiate an email to us with your vote. Please - only one vote per person! - Dave Christian.
- Sam Rohrer.
- Marc Scaringi.
- Tom Smith.
- Steve Welch.

Dear Fellow Patriot,
We have a choice in this years Pennsylvania Senatorial election that will have far reaching consequences for Pennsylvania.
Roger Howard is challenging Dominic Pileggi in the 9th district. Dominic has never been challenged and with the lack of any reformative legislation coming from Harrisburg along with the redistricting fiasco, he is very vulnerable. Can you imagine replacing the third most powerful Republican in Harrisburg?
Right now what stands in our way is the ability to get the message out. We are ordering yard signs and if we had an extra $1000.00 we could double what we are ordering.
Can you make a small donation of $10, $25 or $50. It would make a big difference. Please go to the web site now

Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution
Available to you, your family, your friends, and all Americans.
Weeks One & Two Now Available - Sign Up TODAY!
 | Dr. Larry P. Arnn |
Over the years, many friends of Hillsdale, those who never attended college here, have said to me: "Dr. Arnn, I wish I could take Hillsdale's Constitution course!"
In response to these requests, this past year, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College offered the "Introduction to the Constitution" lecture series at no charge. Frankly, I wasn't sure what sort of a response a course like this would have.
That's why I was excited to see that YOU and almost 200,000 other people from all over the United States registered for "Introduction to the Constitution."
Thank you very much for registering and participating. I hope you learned a lot from the series.
I was thrilled, not only by the response, but at what it indicates: Americans are willing and eager learn about the Constitution and to defend the principles of liberty that made America so prosperous!
And this re-awakening of national interest in the Constitution comes not a minute too soon.
Now, for the first time ever, Hillsdale College is offering a no-cost 10-week online Constitution course based on the class Hillsdale College students must complete for graduation:
"Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution"
This course on the U.S. Constitution is available online at no charge to anyone who wants to understand and defend the timeless principles of liberty upon which our nation was founded!
I am proud to be teaching part of our NEW "Constitution 101" course and hope YOU will be one of my students again!
"Constitution 101" begins on February 20, 2012, and concludes the week of April 30. It will cover such topics as the Declaration of Independence and its connection to the Constitution, how the Constitution is structured to protect individual liberty and ensure good government, the crisis of constitutional government faced by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War, and modern challenges to the Constitution during the "Progressive" era.
It is my honor to teach the first class, "The American Mind," and the final class, "The Recovery of the Constitution." All of the classes will be taught by Hillsdale College professors - the top teachers in their field and the same ones who instruct our students here on Hillsdale's campus.
Classes listed in Blue have been posted on YouTube and can be viewed by clicking on the link for each class below.

The U.S. Constitution
A Reader
Divided into eleven sections with introductions by members of Hillsdale's Politics Department faculty, readings cover the principles of the American founding, the framing and structure of the Constitution, the secession crisis and the Civil War, the Progressive rejection of the Constitution, and the building of the administrative state based on Progressive principles.
Editorial Note: Just received a couple of copies of the reader. Not just a short course pamphlet this; with the heft of 'Atlas Shrugged', it is well worth getting whether or not you choose to take the course.
About Hillsdale College
Hillsdale College is a private, coeducational, residential, liberal arts college with approximately 1,400 students. Founded in 1844, the College remains, in the words of its Articles of Association, "grateful to God for the inestimable blessings resulting from the presence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety" in our nation, and dedicated to "the diffusion of sound learning" that is "essential to the perpetuity of these blessings."
Hillsdale College is distinguished by its rigorous core curriculum, by its principled rejection of federal and state taxpayer funding, and by the pledge of its Board of Trustees to resists any attempts by the government to regulate its internal affairs. Hillsdale College promotes the principles of liberty nationwide through its national speech digest, Imprimis, which has a monthly circulation of over 2 million, and through several outreach programs. In 2008, Hillsdale launched its Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. The College will also launch the Hillsdale Graduate School of Statesmanship in fall 2012. |

The bad news is last month some well intentioned political activist announced a cut-off date for signing up co-sponsors for Rep. Rose Marie Swanger's American Law's for American Courts (HB 2029) in an effort to inject some urgency into the effort.
What it resulted in was an interruption of the campaign to encourage those Representatives not yet signed on as co-sponsors to join with those Legislators who have already recognized the death by smothering threat to our Constitution.
The good news is there is no cut-off date for adding co-sponsors and we are once again asking your readers to contact their representatives and ask they join the battle.
There are only three Representatives from Bucks who are co-sponsors, Representatives Clymer, Petri and Quinn and we thank them for showing their colors.
But that leaves seven more Representatives who appear to be still standing on the sidelines as the battle for our existence as a free people is joined.
Lame rhetoric? I'm afraid not. If you do not understand the threat we face from 'peaceful' opportunists like CAIR, visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bucksafa11info/messages or contact me at bucksafa11@yahoo.com to schedule an Open the Koran presentation for you and your friends.
If you're ready to help, visit www.actforamerica.org and sign on as a chapter leader. It's free and the people there are friendly and helpful. Your help is needed. Every township, every neighborhood needs an Act! for America chapter leader.
But before you do anything, if your Pennsylvania Representative has not yet ssigned on as co-sponsor, urge her/him to do so and ask what is it that prevents him/her from doing so.
Help Pennsylvania be counted among those States that have shown the courage to face off with the enemies who have plainly stated their aim is to destroy our Nation. Our laws have worked just fine since colonial times. What is needed are politicians who respect them. And you know whose job it is to remind them of that.
Thanks,
John Ryan

CAIR's Fight Against Pennsylvania Foreign Law Bill
by David J. Rusin FrontPage Magazine February 13, 2012
http://www.islamist-watch.org/9192/cair-fight-against-pennsylvania-foreign-law-bill
Resistance to a new bill aimed at limiting foreign law in Pennsylvania courts serves as a case study of how Islamists and their allies operate: peddling falsehoods about Shari'a, painting Muslims as victims, and denying that anyone seeks to institutionalize aspects of Islamic law - even as they vigorously promote that very agenda. With similar legislation being debated across the U.S., understanding their tactics is critical.
At issue in Pennsylvania is House Bill (HB) 2029, which stipulates that "a tribunal shall not consider a foreign legal code or system which does not grant ... the same fundamental liberties, rights and privileges" as guaranteed by the federal and state constitutions. Introduced in November, it follows the American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) model and makes no mention of Shari'a. A preliminary memo sent to legislators last June in the name of Rep. RoseMarie Swanger, HB 2029's chief sponsor, does highlight Islamic law, but she later said that it had been circulated accidentally. Regardless, concerns about Shari'a are warranted due to its many provisions that conflict with the standards of American jurisprudence. For example, it disadvantages women in terms of inheritance, divorce, child custody, and other areas of family law. Shari'a already has shaped numerous cases nationwide, including in Pennsylvania, where one state court decided how assets should be distributed according to Islam.
Pushback against HB 2029 has been led by the Philadelphia office of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-PA) and was punctuated by an interfaith press conference (video here) at CAIR-PA headquarters on December 14. The overall campaign reflects CAIR's usual recipe of distortion, victimology, and contradiction between words and deeds.
Attacks on bills like HB 2029 begin by sowing confusion about Shari'a. Because Islamic law encompasses virtually every facet of life - governing personal activities such as eating and worship, but also forming an oppressive social and legal structure - suit-and-tie Islamists work to emphasize its unthreatening pieces whenever possible. CAIR-PA executive director Moein Khawaja's suggestion that Shari'a should worry Pennsylvanians no more than halal gyros is a fine example of this technique.

March 23rd, 2012, marks an important and unfortunate anniversary. It will have been exactly two years since President Obama forced his unpopular health care takeover onto the American people. Americans for Prosperity has educated the public about the dangers of government interference in the health care market for the past several years, and now the Supreme Court is set to hear arguments and make a ruling on that very issue. As you are most likely aware, the U.S. Supreme Court will be considering the constitutionality of several elements of the President's health care bill. This may be our best chance to overturn this offense against our health care freedoms. That's why Americans for Prosperity will be hosting a Hands Off My Health Care rally for free-market grassroots activists from across the country at the Supreme Court on March 27th. Details can be found below.

The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom is being held Friday, March 23 atnoon, local time, outside federal buildings, Congressional offices and historic sites across the country. The theme for the Rally is "Stand Up for Religious Freedom-Stop the HHS Mandate!"
Thousands of Americans of all faiths will be participating in these peaceful rallies, organized by the Pro-Life Action League and Citizens for a Pro-Life Society to oppose the new mandate from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that requires all employers provide free contraceptives, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs through their health plans, even in violation of their consciences.
Religious leaders and other public figures will speak out against the HHS Mandate at each Rally site. Holding signs reading "Stand Up for Religious Freedom" and "Stop the HHS Mandate," participants will offer hymns and prayers for our nation and pass out literature to the public about why the HHS Mandate is unconstitutional and Un-American.
The Nationwide Rally for Religious Freedom will be a peaceful, family-friendly, non-partisan, ecumenical event. For more information, please see the Rally Guidelines and Protocols, below.

From July 16 through July 18, 2012, Christians United for Israel will be holding its 7th Annual Washington Summit. We're going back to stand with Israel in our nation's capital. This year - more than ever - we need you to join us!
In the coming months, critical decisions are going to be made about Iran, Israel and the world. Finally, Washington is beginning to focus on the issue of a nuclear Iran. Many of our leaders want to confront this looming threat. But others want to keep kicking the can down the road. The debate is far from over.
- We know that when thousands of CUFI activists arrive in DC and on Capitol Hill, we can change the conversation.
- We can remind our leaders that a nuclear Iran is not only a threat to Israel, but to the US as well. And we can demonstrate to our elected officials that their constituents care enough about this issue to show up at their DC offices.
- We know that we can create a sense of immediacy that's otherwise lacking.
- We know that the more of us who show up and speak out -- the louder our voice and the greater our impact.
We stand at a critical juncture in history. Don't be silent! Don't miss your chance to make a difference! Don't pass up your opportunity to defend America and bless Israel!
Our leaders need to remember that we are watching them and we need to remember that God is watching us.
The time to speak out for Israel is now! Please register today for CUFI's 2012 DC Summit.

The Union League of Philadelphia
Luncheon: 12:00 - 1:30PM

After years of obeying our parents, we are programmed to think that anytime there is a problem, whether it's companies going bankrupt or schools keeping kids stupid, government action is the way to solve it. Using his decades of reporting, Stossel tackles how those intuitive, knee-jerk reactions lead us astray.
Central planning sounds right. It feels good. But it has nothing to do with the realities of economics and science. There is nothing that government can do that we cannot do better as free individuals - and as groups of individuals, working together voluntarily, not at the point of a gun or under threat of a fine. Without big government, our possibilities are limitless.

The Case Against Obamacare: Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress
Building on decades of Heritage research, The Case Against Obamacare: A Health Care Policy Series for the 112th Congress examines 15 key provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Each report:
- Cites specific sections of the 2,700-page health care law
- Provides detailed analysis of specific Obamacare provisions
- Identifies key principles for a better way to reform health care
The unmistakable conclusion of this series is that Obamacare must be fully repealed. Congress cannot build sound market-based health care reform on the flawed foundation of this health care law. Until it can be repealed, Congress must employ its full powers authorized by the Constitution to:

Health Care Exchange - Part II
In December of 2011, the PA Coalition first reported that Governor Corbett and his willing accomplices in the GOP dominated legislature were planning to implement a state run "Health Care Exchange". Since that first announcement, a rising tide of grass roots opposition to the Exchange has been occurring with delegations meeting with legislators to voice our opposition to the proposal. If you are attending the upcoming PA Leadership Conference, please stop by the Coalition booth to pick up more literature on the subject and speak to Dr. Nick Pandelidis to find out more.
A Bad Idea: Establishing an ObamaCare Exchange for Pennsylvania
Dr. Nick Pandelidis, Director of Health Care Policy for PA Coalition for Responsible Government
The proposal of the Corbett administration and the state legislature to establish a health care exchange would create a large bureaucracy to administer ObamaCare mandates, subsidies, regulations and rationing.
Proponents say an exchange established by the state will give Pennsylvania more control over the administration of ObamaCare if the federal law is upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. This is an illusion because the Obama administration has made it clear that it will impose its will irrespective of anything done at the state level.
A better course of action is for Pennsylvania government to continue to fight ObamaCare in legal cases already in progress and to develop market-based solutions to problems in the health-care system
The activities of the state's ObamaCare exchange would include:
- Determining subsidy levels for private insurance products
- Verifying income eligibility and tax credit and cost-sharing subsidies by sending information to the IRS
- Verifying exemptions from ObamaCare's individual mandate to purchase insurance by sending information to the IRS
- Certifying that an individual is exempt from the individual mandate

High Health Care Costs - Causes and Solutions
Dr. Nick Pandelidis, Director of Health Care Policy for PA Coalition for Responsible Government
The ever increasing cost of health care threatens the financial well-being of people, businesses and governments at all levels.
The underlying causes include the third-party payer system - private and public - that disconnects the patient from the payment of those services. The arrangement is not insurance in the usual sense but rather a prepayment of services that promotes overutilization and reduces transparency of cost and quality.
Other significant cost drivers include decreased market competition forces by injudicious insurance regulation, the federal tax policy that promotes employer-provided insurance over individually owned insurance, and medical malpractice tort abuse.
ObamaCare, with its 150 new boards and agencies, exacerbates these causes by expanding the third-party system. It will decrease competition by eliminating all but the largest insurers, and it fails to address tort reform and the federal tax treatment of insurance.

RedState Morning Briefing
For March 21, 2012
1. The Nominee
It is a mathematical improbability that Rick Santorum will get to the magic number of 1,144 - the number of delegates needed to be the Republican Presidential nominee. It is a political improbability that Rick Santorum will stop Mitt Romney from getting to 1,144.
Last night in Illinois, Mitt Romney won his first victory without caveats.
Even in Florida, a big win, there were plenty - counties that saw increased turnout rejected him. The northern part of the state rejected him. It required an amalgamation of voters not quite typical of the base to get Romney the nod in Florida.
In Illinois, Romney won. Period. The Santorum campaign stumbled badly in Puerto Rico, gave up a lead in Illinois, and the candidate proved horribly undisciplined. Like Dug the dog in Up getting distracted by every random squirrel, Rick Santorum loses all ability to focus when social issues come up. His lack of discipline and message focus steering those issues to families as he did so beautifully in the Mesa, AZ debate has hindered him and solidified a media narrative that he is more concerned with those issues than jobs and the economy. It is not fair. It is not even accurate. But fairness and accuracy are rare commodities in American retail politics and Rick Santorum has not leveraged his strengths well.
On the other hand, Mitt Romney's win in Illinois still highlights his struggles. Blue collar voters are not fond of him. Staunchly conservative voters are not either. Evangelical voters also are not fond of him. The voters do not feel quite comfortable with their pick. But though evangelicals and social conservatives are the base of the base of the Republican Party, they are not enough to stop Mitt Romney and a spending advantage some have estimated topped 20 to 1 against Santorum in Illinois.
This is not to say the race is over. Far from it. Rick Santorum will probably win Louisiana. Conservatives will rally to Santorum and continue protesting Romney as the nominee. But it will not be enough. Romney will do well in New England and the remaining mid-Atlantic states. He will do well out west, winning California.
He will be the nominee.
2. A Look at Obama's Budget Priorities When President Obama released his fiscal year 2013 budget, he revealed a great deal about his priorities for the remainder of this term and the possibility of his next. First in his State of the Union address and then for the past month on the campaign trail, he has repeated the message that it is crucial to promote all types of energy. This message is not reflected in his budget. Consider the White House's push to repeal certain tax provisions - credits available to all industries -for just oil and natural gas firms, while seeking subsidy extensions and new tax credits to "green energy" favorites. Selectively levying $46 billion in new taxes on oil and natural gas companies and subsidizing "renewable" companies in hopes of huge job growth and technological change goes against the very nature of the market. But it is the Obama approach. He wants vindictive tax hikes on the oil and natural gas industry and massive subsidies and non-recourse loans for his favorites; this president is trying to rig the base of the U.S. economy. That policy imposes heavy costs and economic suffering on all Americans. Oddly, his budget also attacks economically-deprived families suffering even before they try to deal with the costs of heating and cooling their homes. 3. Trayvon Martin And Perspective On February 26 in a suburb of Orlando, a Hispanic man, George Zimmerman, shot to death an unarmed African-American teenager, Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman was on neighborhood watch, carrying a pistol. "Zimmerman spotted Martin as he was patrolling his neighborhood on a rainy evening and called 911 to report a suspicious person. Against the advice of the 911 dispatcher, Zimmerman then followed Martin, who was walking home from a convenience store with a bag of Skittles in his pocket." To date, Zimmerman has not been arrested, but after a media outcry, local and federal grand jury investigations have been opened. Zimmerman contends that he shot Martin in self-defense; there are no eyewitnesses and the details are murky, but at least one witness overheard a confrontation. Presumably, further investigation will be needed before prosecutors can build a case that does not leave the claim of self-defense surrounded by a cloud of reasonable doubt, ending with a Casey Anthony type verdict. There's been some discussion about Florida's particularly strong self-defense law, but in any state in the Union, if a jury believes there is a real possibility that Zimmerman acted in self-defense, he'd be acquitted, and if the jury doesn't, he'd be convicted. The Martin case is a legitimate local news story, of the type that crops up now and then - in major cities like New York, where I live, we have multiple crime stories a year that involve sensational or particularly tragic facts and - at least at the outset - a significant possibility that injustice will be done either to the victim, the defendant, or both. Such cases test public confidence in the competence and fairness of local law enforcement, and sometimes find both to be wanting. But the media feeding frenzy over this particular story - one out of the thousands of homicides in this country - in apparent response to a left-wing campaign to keep it in the national news, reflects at best a loss of perspective and at worst a cynical effort to inflame racial division in an election year. 4. Ryan Budget: A Good Start, but will it Matter? The much-anticipated Ryan budget for FY 2013, which also contains a blueprint for the next ten years, has been released. The headline figures of the proposal include the following factoids: it will spend $5.3 trillion less than Obama's plan and cut $2 trillion more in taxes over the next ten years; it will spend $4.15 less than CBO baseline; spending will be reduced from 24% of GDP to 19.8% and the debt held by the public will decline from73.2% of GDP to 62.3%. The lion's share of the savings come from welfare and other mandatory spending reforms ($1.9 trillion), block granting Medicaid to the states ($810 billion), and repealing Obamacare ($1.6 trillion). There are also $33 billion in much-needed cuts to farm subsidies (some Republicans are already grumbling about that). 5. How Much Do You Pay For Gas? "The tools we have at our disposal are limited, but I would I say I would give myself a little higher in that since I became Secretary of Energy, I've been doing everything I can to get long-term solutions." - Energy Secretary Steven Chu, on whether he would give himself an A minus on gas prices. The above quote is from a House Hearing this morning. Ed Morrissey breaks down the reality, and has video of the Secretary's testimony. A Minus? The George Allen campaign today has a fantastic, and depressing, new website out today that suggests a different grade. At www.TooMuchAtThePump.com, you can put in the make and model of your car, or the size of the tank, and you get a comparison between what it took to fill your tank in January of 2009 versus now. The results will blow your wallet up. 6. Jason Mattera Detonates Hollywood Over the weekend we saw American songwriter and rapper Cee Lo Green headline a fundraiser for Barack Obama in Atlanta. Never mind the fact that the Left continues to lecture us about civility in the midst of Green singing the unedited version of his song, "Fu*** You," while flipping off the crowd. The presence of this popular artist headlining an Obama rally shows once again how the Hollywood elite will try to sell President Obama to us in 2012 just like they did in 2008. As my buddy Jason Mattera reveals in his brand-new book Hollywood Hypocrites: The Devastating Truth About Obama's Biggest Backers, there is an extensive power nexus between Tinseltown and the Obama reelection campaign. Conservatives may not realize just how deeply entwined the two are. Jason writes, "The same Hollywood loons who got Obama elected will do so again. That is, unless we muzzle them. How? Not the way the Left tries to do, by silencing dissent. But by putting their political stances and public statements under the microscope of scrutiny to analyze whether they live by the same policy prescriptions they seek to inflict on America." Buy Hollywood Hypocrites today. You won't look at Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Bono, Harrison Ford, Arianna Huffington, and many more A-list celebrities the same.

American killed in Yemen 'highly respected' Islam
By NBC News, msnbc.com staff and news services contributed to this report, March 19, 2012, http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/19/10756125-american-killed-in-yemen-highly-respected-islam
The employers of an American man killed while working in Yemen said in a statement Monday that he "highly respected" Islam, after a group tied to al-Qaida claimed it had executed him because of his "Christian proselytizing."
Joel Shrum, a teacher at the International Training Development Center, was shot dead Sunday in the city of Taiz where he worked.
A group linked to al-Qaida, Ansar al-Sharia (Partisans of Islamic Law), claimed responsibility.
"This operation comes as a response to the campaign of Christian proselytizing that the West has launched against Muslims," an unidentified person said in a text message to journalists, claiming responsibility on behalf of the group.
American killed in Yemen; al-Qaida-linked group claims responsibility
In its statement Monday, the International Training Development Center said that the man it identified only as "Joel S." was driving from his house to its office in Taiz when he was shot dead by armed men on a motorcycle.
"Unfortunately Mr. Shrum has been accused of being a part of proselytizing campaign, but the staff of ITDC, which consists of Muslims and Christians working together, has continually focused on human development, skill transfer and community development," the statement said.
"In ITDC's cooperative environment, Muslims students are highly respected and observe religious prayers on the property. Overall, religious and political debates are not permitted at ITDC," it added. "Joel S. was a very professional employee who highly respected the Islamic religion. ITDC is calling on the Yemeni people to rise up and rejects this hatred and violence in their country."
The statement said the ITDC facility in Taiz was closed and the security of the foreign staff members was being addressed.

Crackdown in Iran Hits Official Churches
Authorities target Isfahan's Anglicans, as well as 'underground' Christians
By Compass Direct News March 18, 2012|5:50 pm http://www.christianpost.com/news/crackdown-in-iran-hits-official-churches-71640/
In a rare crackdown on a concentrated area, Iranian authorities have arrested Christians living in the country's third largest city in what is seen as a tactic to discourage Muslims and converts to Christianity from attending official churches.
Since last month officials have arrested about 12 Christian converts in Isfahan, 340 kilometers (211 miles) south of Tehran. Authorities have arrested leaders and members of churches meeting in buildings, as well as some from underground churches, according to Mohabat News.
The targeted arrests started on Feb. 22, when intelligence officers arrested approximately seven Christians at their homes between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., Mohabat reported. Authorities raided their homes and confiscated valuables, including Bibles, computers, identification and other documents, and in one case even pictures decorating walls.
The Christian Iranian news service identified those detained on Feb. 22 as Hekmat Salimi, pastor of St. Paul Anglican Church, a convert of 30 years and author of theological books; Giti Hakimpour, 78, a female pastor at St. Luke's Anglican Church; Shahram Ghaedi, an actor; Maryam Del-Aram, 54; Shahnaz Zarifi, a mother of two; and Enayat Jafari.
Another Christian, Majid Enayat, was arrested on the same day at his workplace. He is a member of a house church, and Mohabat reported that prior to his arrest, authorities arrested other members of his group. Some of these Christians warned him that authorities intended to arrest him.
Of those arrested, Mohabat reported that authorities released Hakimpour on Feb. 25. Authorities have denied proper medical treatment to Del-Aram, who is under medical supervision. When her daughter tried to bring her medication to her at the prison, they refused it, according to Mohabat.
On March 2, authorities arrested another convert in Isfahan, Fariborz Parsi-Nejad.
Authorities have allegedly arrested more Christians in Isfahan, but sources have not been able to confirm the arrests and details. None of those arrested in Isfahan last month has been officially charged.
Though religious freedom monitors in Iran said it was not clear what triggered authorities to target Christians in Isfahan, one Iranian Christian outside the country said it may be yet another tactic to stop converts from attending Farsi-speaking meetings in official church buildings.
"I now have 12 names of Christians arrested in Isfahan," said the Iranian Christian, who requested anonymity. "Isfahan is a very Islamic city. We have two or three church buildings there. The government is very sensitive in Isfahan, which is the only city apart from Tehran with official church buildings. Now the government is focusing on the church buildings to scare the people so they don't go."
There are also a number of church buildings in various cities in Iran that are attended by ethnic Armenian Christians. The services are held in Armenian, and members have relatively more freedom to meet.
Earlier in February, authorities in Tehran ordered Emmanuel Protestant Church and St. Peter's Evangelical Church to discontinue their Farsi-language services. These were the last two official churches in the capital offering Farsi-language services on Fridays.
On Feb. 12, Noorallah Qabitizade was transferred to Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. He was originally arrested in Dezful on Dec. 24, 2010, and this is the third time authorities have transferred him to a different prison because he is outspoken about his faith while incarcerated. His conditions in Isfahan were expected to be harsher, according to Mohabat.
Previous Arrests Since the beginning of this year, authorities have arrested Christian converts in Tehran, Ahwaz, Shiraz, Isfahan and Kermanshah.
In Tehran, authorities on Feb. 8 arrested the pastor of Narmak Assemblies of God Church. He was released on bail on Feb. 16. Sources reported that his arrest was part of a government targeting of government-sanctioned, evangelical denominations.
In Kermanshah, authorities raided a house church on Feb. 21, arresting 13 Christians who had gathered to worship. Authorities verbally and physically abused them during the arrest, according to Mohabat. Of those arrested, most were released the next day, and now only three remain in prison.
But the Revolutionary Court of Kermanshah last month sentenced Masoud Delijani, a convert to Christianity arrested last year, to three years in prison on charges of being a Christian, holding illegal house church gatherings, evangelizing Muslims and action "against national security," according to Mohabat.
Arrested on March 17, 2011, Delijani suffered great mental and physical pressure while in prison, according to Mohabat. In July 2011 he was released on bail amounting to about US$100,000 and rearrested two weeks later. Authorities did not give him due legal process, denying him legal defense, according to Mohabat.
In January 2010, officials had ordered the Pentecostal Church of Assyrians in Kermanshah to close on charges of spreading Christianity among Muslims.
Christians in Iran, most belonging to networks of house churches meeting in small groups in secret, are routinely arrested and interrogated. Iranian authorities view Christianity as a deviant anti-government movement and Christians as pawns of the West. Iran is the fifth worst persecutor of Christians in the world, according to the most recent World Watch List by Christian support group Open Doors.
A steady retreat worldwide.
By Adam Turner March 12, 2012
http://pjmedia.com/blog/free-speech-vs-islamists-worldwide-west-is-losing/?singlepage=true
Recently, Salman Rushdie did not attend a literature festival in India after Indian authorities warned him he was a potential target of assassins, and after numerous protests by various Islamist groups. This is not the first time that Mr. Rushdie found himself at odds with Islamists over his free speech. In 1988, he published his book The Satanic Verses, whose "blasphemous writings" first resulted in death threats to Mr. Rushdie from Islamists - including a fatwa against him by Ayatollah Khomeini - and first alerted the world to the problems Islamists had with free speech concerning Islam-related topics.
After initially trying to apologize to appease his Islamist censors, Rushdie was forced to go underground under protective detail. In 2012, almost a quarter of a century from when he first found himself enmeshed in the struggle for free speech, Mr. Rushdie faced a similar threat and once again was forced to back down.
Unfortunately, the Rushdie example is all too representative of how things are going in the Western struggle to protect speech from Islamist thugs. In other words, not well. Things are probably getting worse.
Back in 1989, most in the Western world were still shocked by the threat against Rushdie, and after some hemming and hawing eventually came out in support of his right to say what he wanted to say about his own, lapsed religion. Today, virtually no one seems to notice or care when Rushdie is once again threatened for his speech. That is because today, Islamist death threats made against persons who speak about Islam-related topics are so commonplace (recall South Park, Charlie Hebdo, and David Letterman). The world is so accustomed to placing the blame on the speakers that there really isn't much to get indignant about.
Note the sentiments from the Time Paris bureau chief expressed regarding the bombing of Charlie Hebdo:
Okay, so can we finally stop with the idiotic, divisive, and destructive efforts ... to bait Muslim members with petulant, futile demonstrations that "they" aren't going to tell "us" what can and can't be done in free societies? Because not only are such Islamophobic antics futile and childish, but they also openly beg for the very violent responses from extremists their authors claim to proudly defy in the name of common good.
Back in 1989, many Muslim states - and Muslim leaders in the West and elsewhere - also objected to the threats against Rushdie. On the government level, the Iranians found little support for their fatwa from other Muslim nations. (Although this may also be because most other leaders were Sunni Muslims, while the ayatollah and the Iranians were Shia.) Most Muslim government leaders avoided speaking about the whole issue altogether and limited their actions to banning the book in their nations. Some Egyptian ministers, Turkish political leaders, and even Saddam Hussein objected to the death fatwa. There were even some Muslim intellectuals who objected to the death threats, like Professor Mehmet Hatipoglu of Ankara University.
However, these days there seems to be a contest between Muslim nations and Muslim sects as to which group can censor an "Islamophobe" - either a Westerner, or a native - the fastest.
I have written about the increasing rise of blasphemy accusations in Pakistan, where the blasphemy laws were dramatically strengthened in the late 1980s by introducing the death penalty and dropping the previous requirement of "intent to blaspheme" (i.e., a person can now blaspheme by accident). Christians, Hindus, Ahmadis, Shias, and other Muslim sects are the usual targets of these laws; sometimes even the majority Sunni Muslims run afoul.
Likewise, Indonesians are now going after their own blasphemers such as Bramantyo Prijosusilo, an East Java-based artist and journalist who was attacked by dozens of Islamists and later brought up on blasphemy charges. He was attacked and charged for a performance piece of his which he hoped would inspire people to fight against radicalism, intimidation, and violence.
In Tunisia, a television director has been put on trial on charges of blasphemy, facing possibly up to five years in prison for broadcasting the French animated movie Persepolis, which contains a brief scene depicting Allah speaking in Tunisian slang. In Yemen, Nobel Peace laureate Tawakkul Karman has received a death threat from Muslim militants for alleged blasphemy. In Abu Dhabi, a British engineer faced prison time for cursing a mosque project that was running late. His blasphemous words: "When will we finish with the damn mosques?" In Dubai, another British citizen found himself in trouble for reportedly calling the Islamic prophet Muhammad a "terrorist" in a heated row with a salesman in a shopping mall.
Further, since 1999 the Muslim world - through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) - has been pushing resolutions through the UN General Assembly and the UN Human Rights Council to restrict "defamation of religions" (read as "defamation of Islam") throughout the world.
Also, these days, when Islamists threaten free speech about Islam-related topics with violence, legal action, boycotts, or complaints about "Islamophobia," many Westerners - especially the leftist European and American elite - actually join in the efforts. In Germany, the government recently announced that it would be monitoring the "counterjihadi websites" to make sure no hateful language was used. Presumably, those malefactors found will be prosecuted for their anti-Islam "hate speech," as were Geert Wilders and Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff. In Scandinavian nations, so-called "right-wing" parties that are concerned about unlimited immigration and the unwillingness of the mostly Muslim immigrants to integrate are branded the ideological sympathizers of one of the few non-Islamist terrorists, Anders Breivik, so as to undermine the appeal of the "right-wing" parties to the average voting citizen.
In the U.S., thanks to a little pressure from CAIR - which because of politically correct feelings is able to avoid the stigma of being recognized as a group with "ties to terrorism" - websites like Bare Naked Islam are taken down (but later returned), the NYPD is increasingly derided for being anti-Muslim, and honored generals are shunned. A Pennsylvania judge decided that a Muslim's decision to choke an offending atheist - who was parading down the street as "Zombie Mohammed," right next to "Zombie Pope" - is no reason to punish the choker, but reason enough to lecture the chokee for being a "doofus."
Even the U.S. president meekly apologizeds, along with much of his administration, for the accidental burning of Korans in Afghanistan.
Most disturbingly, international organizations are increasingly getting into the Islam-related censorship field. As I have already mentioned, the OIC has pushed resolutions through the UN General Assembly and the UN Human Rights Council since 1999 to restrict "defamation of religions." Egypt and Pakistan have also forced the UN Human Rights Council to ban in-depth discussion of religions after an NGO representative to that body described female genital mutilation as sanctioned by Islamic law. Interpol, the world's largest international police organization, may have been enlisted by Saudi Arabia to help track down Muslims who violate that nation's "blasphemy laws." If this occurred, this action violates Interpol's own constitutional neutrality clause which states that it is "strictly forbidden" for the organization to undertake any intervention of a religious character. Even the OSCE, an organization most Americans have never heard of, is now promoting censorship at the behest of Muslim Europeans.
There is at least one Western man who stands strong. In 2007, Lars Vilks, a Swedish cartoonist, drew a cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a dog. He immediately found himself threatened by death by Islamists and was forced into protective detail. But he kept on speaking out in defense of free speech. At one of his most recent lectures, where Vilks showed a picture of Mohammed in front of a beer bottle, he found himself pelted by eggs thrown by Islamic radicals.
But otherwise, the situation is bleak.

March 20, 2012 Textbook analysis report released today! A special message from Brigitte Gabriel, President, ACT! for America Education www.ACTforAmericaEducation.org It is with great delight that I announce to you that today we released "Education or Indoctrination? The Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th Grade American Textbooks." ACT! for America Education Executive Director Guy Rodgers and I began discussing this project nearly four years ago. Today, that project is a reality-and I believe that one year from now you and I will look back on this as a truly historic accomplishment that helped change the course of education in America. This report shines a bright light on a pattern of errors, omissions and bias in the textbooks reviewed. Our children deserve better. Our children deserve facts and accuracy, not historical revisionism. To give you just one example of the errors our research uncovered, in discussing the 9/11 attacks, the textbooks typically fail to mention the perpetrators were Muslims or that they acted in the cause of Islamic jihad. In one book the terrorists are portrayed as people fighting for a cause. In just a few years after September 11th, the history of what happened on that tragic day was rewritten in our school textbooks. Omitting this vital information, that jihad was the motivation for the attacks, makes it difficult, if not impossible, for today's young teens, who don't remember 9/11, to really understand what happened that day-and why. Please forward this email to anyone and everyone you know. Help us get the word out far and wide! Over the next few months we hope to wake up America to what this report has uncovered! To access the report log on to www.ACTforAmericaEducation.org. Once there you will find the following:
- The Executive Summary of the Report, which was mailed to over 70,000 state and local school board members nationwide;
- The full Report;
- Sub-reports, sorted by each textbook publisher;
- A plan for taking action.

I am honored to put my hand in yours and work with you to ensure our children receive the best historical education, and America remains the greatest and brightest nation on earth. Brigitte Gabriel

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 To: Friends & Supporters From: Gary L. Bauer COUNTDOWN TO VICTORY: 231 DAYS TO THE 2012 ELECTIONS Obama Beats Bush CBS News reported yesterday evening that Barack Obama's out-of-control deficit spending has broken a new record. After just three years and two months in office, Obama has added more to the national debt than George W. Bush did in eight years. That means Obama is spending money twice as fast as Bush did. Consider these excerpts:
"The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office. The latest posting from the Bureau of Public Debt at the Treasury Department shows the National Debt now stands at $15.566 trillion. It was $10.626 trillion on President Bush's last day in office, which coincided with President Obama's first day. "The National Debt also now exceeds 100% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product, the total value of goods and services. ...If Mr. Obama wins re-election, and his budget projections prove accurate, the National Debt will top $20 trillion in 2016, the final year of his second term. That would mean the Debt increased by 87 percent, or $9.34 trillion, during his two terms."
America cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama! Ryan To The Rescue Thanks to Obama's out-of-control spending, America is in a fiscal crisis. The numbers above are mind-numbing, but a day of reckoning is fast approaching. House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) is once again proposing a very different approach than business as usual in Washington -- one that cuts spending, cuts taxes and preserves entitlement programs by reforming them in future years. Here are some key elements of Rep. Ryan's proposed budget:
- Ryan's budget repeals ObamaCare, saving trillions.
- It would reduce spending by $100 billion in 2013 and freeze it for two years. Over time, Ryan's budget cuts $5.3 trillion in spending.
- By 2015, the deficit would fall from the current estimate of $1.2 trillion to $300 billion.
- It dramatically simplifies the tax code from six brackets to two -- 10% and 25% -- eliminates the alternative minimum tax and reduces the corporate tax rate from 35% to 25%.
- It preserves Medicare by reforming it for future retirees. Current beneficiaries and those near retirement would experience no changes.
This is a very bold budget that stands in stark contrast to Obama's trillion-dollar deficits and crushing tax hikes. It also stands in stark contrast to Harry Reid's "do-nothing" Senate, which has not passed a budget in more than 1,000 days. Predictably, Democrats are already savaging Ryan's latest budget. But as the co-chairmen of Barack Obama's own National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility warned last year, America is facing "the most predictable economic crisis in history." And as noted above, Obama's policies have pushed us to the brink. Clearly, something has to change. I suggest we start by changing the leadership in the White House and Senate on November 6th! Is ObamaCare Key To Victory? ObamaCare turns two this Friday. You would think the White House would be celebrating. There is no denying that it's Barack Obama's signature accomplishment. Healthcare "reform" was the Democrats' "holy grail," a goal decades in the making. But it has cost them. After HillaryCare failed to pass, Democrats lost the House of Representatives in the historic 1994 election. When ObamaCare passed, Democrats again lost the House in the historic 2010 election. And the law's continued unpopularity may well cost them the White House in 2012. For example, according to the latest Rasmussen poll, 56% of likely voters favor repealing ObamaCare. Last month, a Gallup poll found that 72% of Americans, including 56% of Democrats, believe ObamaCare's individual mandate is unconstitutional. With numbers like that, ObamaCare will be an albatross around Barack Obama's neck as he seeks reelection. Or will it? One of the reasons why I support and endorsed Senator Rick Santorum is because I believe the GOP needs a nominee who can credibly and authentically stand against ObamaCare and its big government mandates. I know Governor Mitt Romney says he wants to repeal ObamaCare. But as my good friend Bill Kristol argues, Mitt Romney could have trouble making the case against mandates because he once defended them, saying, "I like mandates. The mandates work." But as we know from Gallup and other polls, the American people don't like mandates. Bristol Blasts Barack Kudos to Bristol Palin! In a blog post Sunday, Bristol blasted Barack Obama's hypocrisy for calling and publicly defending Sandra Fluke while his super PAC accepted a $1 million check from Bill Maher. Palin writes:
"I'm not expecting your SuperPAC to return the money. You're going to need every dime to hang on to your presidency. I'm not even really expecting a call. But would it be too much to expect a little consistency? After all, you're President of all Americans, not just the liberals."
You can read Bristol's entire post here. Obama's Anti-Israel Faith Advisor Most Americans have never heard of Dalia Mogahed. She is Executive Director of and Senior Analyst for the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies. In 2009 Barack Obama appointed her to his Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, previously known as the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Mogahed is making headlines not for her scholarly research, but for a Tweet she sent on March 10:
"To those siding w/Assad: he cannot deliver stability, protection of minorities, or resistance to Israel. He is a killer w/o legitimacy."
So just to be clear, Obama's faith advisor wants Bashar al-Assad gone in part because he is insufficiently anti-Israel. She wants the civil war in Syria to end so that a new government can get around to more important things like delivering more "resistance to Israel." Of course, this raises questions about what kind of advice Mogahed gave on the president's Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships council and why Obama appointed her in the first place.

Mothers/Lawyers Launch Petition Against Obamacare Contraceptive Mandate - 20,000 Signatures So Far
(CNSNews.com) - Two female law experts have launched a petition that they say answers liberal members of Congress who claim women do not have a voice in the debate over the Obamacare mandate for contraceptive coverage and whether it infringes on religious liberty. "Where are the Women? Here We Are" is the headline at the Web site and petition campaign launched in February by Helen Alvare, associate law professor at George Mason University, and Kim Daniels, former counsel for the religious liberty advocacy group, Thomas More Law Center. So far, more than 20,000 women have signed the petition, which is also posted on Facebook. Alvare told CNSNews.com that the Catholic Church's stand against the Obama administration has given voice to Americans, including a growing number of women who agree with the church, even if some people have tried to deny that such an opposite opinion on the matter exists.

Obama's 41% approval rate in CBS/NYT poll is far from the only bad news it held for him
Mar 20, 2012 06:13 am | Coach Collins
By Kevin "Coach" Collins
The shock of last week's CBS News/New York Times poll showing Barack Obama at just 41% was well understandable. Incumbent presidents don't get reelected with approval numbers at or below 45%.
Nevertheless, the results turned out to be a matter of not being able to see the forest for the trees. Since we could not have expected the ashen faced leftists at the New York Times to point out the other bad news in their poll, adding to their misery seems highly appropriate.
Hidden in the report was the fact that a staggering 80% of those polled said they are NOT better off today than they were four years ago. News flash for the "expert pundits": people vote their pocketbook in normal times and these are far from "normal times." Obama is a man who dampens enthusiasm for his own base and builds enthusiasm to vote among his opponents.

His name was William Bradford. At age 17, the same year Shakespeare produced his play, "Anthony and Cleopatra,"
William Bradford fled from England to Holland with the persecuted Pilgrims. At age 30, he sailed with them to America. Obama Executive Order imposes martial law on United States
Mar 19, 2012 12:00 pm | Coach Collins
by Doug Book, staff writer
On Friday evening Barack Hussein Obama signed into existence "National Defense Resources Preparedness," an Executive Order which will afford the president dictatorial powers over the nation and the American people whenever he chooses to implement it.
Some of the more important-and frightening-dictates of the Obama decree:
The President can place the Order in effect virtually whenever and for whatever reason he wishes. Although related to the Defense Production Act of 1950, written as a result of the Korean War, the current Executive Order makes it clear that the nation need not be at war or threatened with aggression by outside forces to be implemented. The Order specifically states that it may be activated in peacetime.
All actions of the Order are ultimately controlled by the President. Obama has appointed the National Security Council and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano as the "integrated policymaking forum" for all Order policies.
All commerce will ... Continue Reading:Obama Executive Order imposes martial law on United States

Radical theorists never really go away. The debates over what Machiavelli really had in mind still continue, but they are almost irrelevant because it is not what he meant that matters, but what The Prince has meant to actual leaders and rulers as a guide for taking and holding power. The scribblings of every halfway notable leftist scribe drawing out a theoretical society built on some perfect method are still around, no matter how much they have been discredited in practice. Alinsky is the last of them, not the truly last one, but the last of them with anything meaningful to say about applying leftist politics to the modern state, far less interested in how an ideal system should work and far more interested in how to realistically seize power in a modern state with open elections and all the other aspects of a free society. The burial ground of most leftist thinkers is their ends, their goals lead to an unrealistic system, that is also true of Alinsky, but in an entirely different way. The left generally assumes that the ideal can be made real by applying an ideal philosophy, radicalizing the oppressed and confronting the oppressors. Alinsky is not the idealist's theoretician, he is to theory what a pickpocket is to economics, not very interested in how money is made, but quite interested in showing you how to take it out of someone else's pocket. The Alinsky way is self-corrupting in the most direct way possible. Those who choose to follow it don't go astray out of nobler motives, they have few of those to begin with. And that self-corruption destroys any possibility of the ends. If the traditional left usually has to come to power to realize the futility of change and give in to its impulse to rob and kill in the traditional autocratic way, those who follow the Alinsky way don't take that long. Turning the means into the ends has been their business all along, and they don't need to wait until disillusionment sets in to get to work. Totalitarian leftist regimes end up purging their own idealists for not getting with the means as ends program. Lenin and Stalin butchered the very people who made the revolution happen, because they would interfere with their drive for absolute power. But Alinsky offered a preemptive purge for the American left, it didn't take all the way, without the deluded idealist, the left would hardly exist, but he sharpened its predatory instincts. The only possible outcome of the Alinsky path is a mafia state. For Alinsky disciples, the means are always more important than the ends, and the more they corrupt themselves and their own movement, the more the country they run starts resembling Russia or Nigeria as a corrupt hellhole where no one trusts anyone and underhanded deals, bribery and con games are the national pastime. Corrupt methods end up corrupting everything they touch.

That's because it appears more and more unlikely that front-runner Mitt Romney will be able to garner the 1,144 delegates needed to seal the nomination before the convention in August, the former Pennsylvania senator told "This Morning" on CBS, The Hill reports.

Critical Race Theory Explained By Ben Shapiro Breitbart.com
Last week, Breitbart.com released video demonstrating Barack Obama's close relationship with Derrick Bell, the father of Critical Race Theory (CRT). And we've seen Soledad O'Brien try to twist the definition of critical race theory in order to protect Obama by grabbing a quick definition from Wikipedia. But just what is CRT? Why is it so dangerous? And what role does it play in President Obama's thinking? Let's begin from the beginning. Read the Full Story

Desperate Democrats Distract With Smears
Posted: 20 Mar 2012 02:08 PM PDT
(John Hinderaker)
The Democrats' attack on Rush Limbaugh hasn't turned out the way they had hoped. The blowback, in the form of conservatives pointing out the outrageous conduct of liberals like Bill Maher and Keith Olbermann, has dwarfed the original reaction against Rush. Worse, the blowback continues. So Democrats are now in the position of trying to shut down the conversation about civility and misogyny that they opportunistically started.
Last night on the Hannity Show, Sean Hannity asked Democratic operative Bob Beckel whether President Obama should return the $1 million his PAC received from Maher. Beckel responded by trying to change the subject-no surprise there-but he did so in a despicable manner:
[T]he rest of them are taking money from the Koch brothers who are Iranian arms sellers...But [Koch] traded arms with our enemies [and] I think that's a lot worse.
Here is the video:
This was sheer fantasy. Beckel just made it up to avoid having to deal with the reality of Democratic Party misogyny. Apart from the utter falsity of his claim, there is a certain irony in his dragging the Koch brothers, two of the most gentlemanly individuals you are likely to meet, into a conversation about Bill Maher's references to c***s and t***s.
Koch Industries responded to Beckel's smear on KochFacts:
During a discussion on a Fox News program on Monday, March 19, partisan left-wing commentator Bob Beckel made outrageous and maliciously false statements about Koch. In reference to GOP presidential candidates, Beckel said, "the rest of them are taking money from the Koch brothers who are Iranian arms sellers."
Mr. Beckel made the remarks in a bizarre effort to rebut concerns that the Obama campaign had accepted contributions from donors that have made disparaging remarks about women. He added, "But [Koch] traded arms with our enemies [and] I think that's a lot worse."
Mr. Beckel's comments are reckless and wrong in many different ways. We assume he was referring to allegations contained in a widely criticized Bloomberg Markets article from last October. First, Koch has never manufactured, bought, sold, or traded arms of any kind or for any purpose - neither with Iran nor anyone else. Second, unlike many large contributors to the President and the Democratic party that Mr. Beckel is affiliated with that either continue to do business in Iran or did it at a much larger level for a longer time than Koch did, Koch voluntarily ceased all business in Iran several years ago.
At that time Koch put in place a policy that was stricter than US federal law that remains in place today. Third, the sales referred to in the Bloomberg Markets article related to petrochemical equipment [not arms] involving a foreign subsidiary of another foreign subsidiary of Koch that had in place protocols that were consistent with existing US law - something Bloomberg Markets itself was forced to concede.
Given the orchestrated campaign against us by those who oppose our views on public policy issues, we expect and have received partisan and baseless criticism and attacks over the past few years. Further, while it is hard to take a partisan hack like Mr. Beckel seriously and while he has made other misleading comments about us in the past, these new, entirely false charges out of whole cloth are a low even for him.

Issa's Oversight Committee Rips Secretary Chu
Posted: 20 Mar 2012 11:16 AM PDT
(John Hinderaker)
It has been a busy day in Chairman Darrell Issa's House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. This morning, the committee released a report titled The Department of Energy's Disastrous Management of Loan Guarantee Programs. The report is a devastating indictment of the Obama administration's "green" energy cronyism. It documents the extraordinary series of shaky (and sometimes shady) loans that DOE has made, often to administration allies.
You really should read the report in full; it describes how the Obama administration failed to follow its own rules, failed to diversify its investment portfolio, ignored clear signs of impending insolvency on the part of borrowers, and sometimes fraudulently characterized technologies in order to justify loans. This is the beginning of a section titled "Systemic Risks from 'Crony Capitalism' and Wasteful Spending:"
There is evidence a number of loan guarantee recipients have engaged in clearly profligate spending. Such wasteful spending threatens the financial viability of the recipient companies, creating risks to both the DOE's loan commitment portfolio and taxpayer dollars. It is particularly troubling that this waste often takes the form of large cash bonuses to company executives - such payments feed the perception that taxpayer funds are being used to line the pockets of green energy executives.
Beacon Power Corp, the second recipient of a § 1705 loan guarantee, paid three executives more than a quarter million dollars in bonuses in March 2010.58 Eighteen months later, Beacon declared bankruptcy, leaving taxpayers to repay the loan. Adding insult to this injury, these bonuses were explicitly linked to the executives securing the DOE loan guarantee. Similarly, bankruptcy records show Solyndra doled out executive payments just months prior to its late August collapse and early September bankruptcy.59 In Solyndra's case, former executives have stated that DOE explicitly allowed federal funds to be used to pay out executive bonuses.
Wasteful spending is not limited to executive compensation alone. BrightSource Energy, recipient of a $1.6 billion loan guarantee to build a solar generation facility, has spent more than $56 million on a desert tortoise relocation program.62 Furthermore, BrightSource will build 50 miles of intricate fencing, at a cost of up to $50,000 per mile, designed to prevent relocated tortoises from climbing or burrowing back into the solar generation facility.63 BrightSource has indicated that the exploding cost of tortoise relocation program threatens to derail the entire $1.6 billion project - leaving taxpayers on the hook for the enormous sums on money spent on construction thus far.
The Committee's report also takes us behind the "green revolving door" and sheds light on corruption in the Obama administration:
Nancy Ann DeParle, the current Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy in the White House, had a financial stake in the success of Granite Reliable, which received $168.9 million loan from DOE. Prior to joining the White House, DeParle was a Managing Director of multi-billion dollar private equity firm CCMP and she both had a financial interest in and sat on the Board of Directors for Noble Environmental Power, LLC.178 Noble owned Granite Reliable, a wind energy project.179 Prior to her departure, her position on Noble's board of Directors positioned her to understand the most confidential and material aspects of Noble Environmental and its subsidiary Granite Reliable. DeParle misrepresented her relationship with Noble Energy, claiming on disclosure forms that her interest had been divested, when in fact it had merely been transferred to her 10 year old son.180
Energy Secretary Steven Chu testified before Issa's committee this morning and was grilled by some of the Republican members. Here, Ann Marie Buerkle of New York blasts the administration's false claim that the U.S. has only 2% of the world's oil reserves and therefore can't begin to meet its energy needs by domestic production:
In this clip, Trey Gowdy of Texas asks Chu about his wish, expressed in 2008 just before he was named Secretary of Energy, that the government should "boost" gasoline prices to European levels. A visibly uncomfortable Chu explains that this was his opinion as a private citizen, but that since he became Secretary of Energy he has not pursued policies designed to increase prices:
I don't believe him for a moment, but one wonders, in any event, why anyone would appoint a Secretary of Energy whose expressed desire is that energy costs rise, thereby impoverishing the American people. One might as well appoint as Secretary of Defense a man who is known for advocating unilateral disarmament. I suppose we should count ourselves lucky Obama didn't do that.
All in all, it was an eventful morning in the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

"You Want Free Stuff? Vote For the Other Guy"
Posted: 20 Mar 2012 07:25 AM PDT
(John Hinderaker)
Campaigning in Illinois, Mitt Romney took a question from a woman who said, "So you're all for like, 'yay, freedom,' and all this stuff. And 'yay, like pursuit of happiness.' You know what would make me happy? Free birth control." Romney's answer was, I think, outstanding. The lines are drawn in this year's presidential election with unusual clarity.
Everyone laughed at the woman who said in 2008 that she was voting for Obama so she wouldn't have to pay to fill up her car with gasoline. But the truth is, she wasn't too far afield from the typical Democratic voter. Nor has anything really changed in the intervening years. Given the historic pace at which the Obama administration has racked up debt, persistent slow growth and high unemployment, and Obama's failure to make good on his promises to secure world peace and control the ocean tides, what possible reason can there be to vote to re-elect him other than a desire for free stuff?
JOE adds: To finish out John's flashback, here's that telling moment from 2008 when a supporter unwittingly revealed the animating principle of the modern Democrat party:

So, Is Barack Obama Irresponsible and Unpatriotic?
Posted: 20 Mar 2012 07:05 AM PDT
(John Hinderaker)
It's now official: the national debt has increased more during the three years of the Obama administration than during George W. Bush's eight years. That makes it a good time to remember what Barack Obama had to say about federal debt during the 2008 campaign:
So if Bush was irresponsible and unpatriotic, what does that make Obama? Even if we put aside the fact that spending and debt exploded during the last two years of the Bush administration, after the Democrats took control of Congress.

Morning Bell: Get on the Path to a Balanced Budget
David S. Addington
March 20, 2012 at 9:42 am
Paul Ryan (R-WI), Chairman of the House Budget Committee, will release his budget blueprint today in what will surely be one of the most important policy developments in Washington this year. If as expected Senate Democrats fail yet again to advance a budget for the government, then the Ryan Budget and the President's Budget released a few weeks ago will present the leading alternatives for how the federal government would dig out of its present fiscal mess. And if the Ryan budget is anything like last year's effort, the differences couldn't be clearer. The Heritage Foundation is reviewing Congressman Ryan's latest budget proposal and will provide analysis in the hours and days ahead.
President Obama, of course, has talked a good game about fiscal discipline. He's had his commissions. He's made his big speeches. But according to his latest offering as scored by the Congressional Budget Office, the outrageous budget deficit of $1.3 trillion this year dips to a still-amazing $488 billion in a few years despite his enormous proposed tax hikes, and then begins to soar anew as the decade proceeds.

Absolute Bureaucracy Corrupts Absolutely
For democracy to work as the Founders intended, bureaucrats cannot choose our elected officials. As obvious as this proposition appears, a federal investigation has concluded that this is what happened to the late Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska).
A federal court-appointed investigator concluded that Department of Justice career officials acted corruptly in their corruption prosecution of Stevens. In 2008, a week after DOJ prosecutors won a guilty verdict in federal court, he narrowly lost his reelection bid- by less than 4,000 votes-to Mark Begich who became the Democrats' 60th Senate vote in their quest to pass, among other legislation, Obamacare.
According to the investigator's report, the prosecution team engaged in "systematic concealment of significant exculpatory evidence" which might have exonerated Stevens. Even before the release of the report, in 2009, the Department of Justice, under Attorney General Eric Holder, concluded that the Stevens prosecution team had engaged in prosecutorial misconduct and asked the judge, who had already declared two of the attorneys in contempt of court, to set aside his conviction. Subsequently the DOJ reassigned some of the attorneys; one committed suicide.
Defenders of aggressive federal prosecution of elected officials would argue that voters deserve protection from corrupt officials. A professional, nonpartisan career staff-in other words, the bureaucracy-reduces partisan, politically-motivated prosecutions to a minimum.
But any attempted defense of "the professionals" against the partisans ignores the real problem by failing to place prosecutions in the context of the most grandiose defense of bureaucracy: the progressive dream of an apolitical public service that would hold ultimate political power. This year we celebrate the 125th anniversary of the publication of Woodrow Wilson's "The Study of Administration," in which then-professor Wilson proposed that a few, wise hundreds govern with skill and economy and train others to work beside them.
Because they are wise, the bureaucrats deserve to prevail over the "selfish, ignorant, timid, stubborn, or foolish" people, who come from a mix of different nationalities. Through the arts of persuasion, a "considerate, paternal government" becomes the new goal of our politics.
Twenty-five years later, Wilson would get the chance to make his political science of a wise ruling class a political reality. For 2012 also marks the 100th anniversary of Wilson's presidential campaign address, "What is Progress?" which even more explicitly attacks the American Founders-Wilson was the first President to do so-and proposes that a new politics be based on Darwinian evolution to replace their antiquated view of individual rights and hence of the separation of powers and limited, constitutional government.
Wilson's scholarly and political ambitions would take generations to fulfill. Throughout the twentieth century, progressives and liberals promoted the cause of bureaucracy against popular government. Legal scholars such as Cass Sunstein, President Obama's colleague at the University of Chicago Law School and now a high-ranking official at his Office of Management and Budget, have made the superiority of bureaucracy to democracy the core of their argument for greater power for the bureaucracy. An essential tool of this agenda is to supply bureaucracy with the wherewithal to prosecute elected officials: Wise, nonpartisan administration must cleanse corrupt politics.
Of course we cannot declare members of Congress off-limits to federal prosecution. But consider what Alaskans, to take just this state, have done to rein in their elected officials. When long-time senator Frank Murkowski won election as Governor, he replaced himself by appointing his daughter Lisa. A feisty reform Mayor of Wasilla (population 7,831) defeated Governor Murkowski in the 2006 Republican primary and became Alaska's first woman Governor.
It would be naīve to assert that the cure for the ills of democracy is simply more democracy. But the cure is surely not more bureaucracy. And those are the choices today: raucous democracy and the chance for liberty, or officious bureaucracy and the smothering of liberty.
